My Time
Tumblr media
Pairing: Allanon x Reader
Words: 1103
Warnings: Mentions of blood
Summary: You are an angel from thousands of years before and you have returned when the threat of demons has become more than the current people can handle. You also have a connection with a certain druid there.
Allanon was standing by the throne respectfully, hands placed in front of him, waiting. Elf scouts had found a human girl they suspected was a rover, so they were bringing her to the throne room. The doors opened and the girl was brought in. She had a hood over her head and no one could see her face. They yanked her hood back to show her face. Allanon froze. He had had dreams about this girl while he was in the druid sleep. Dreams of her (h/c) hair and those (e/c) eyes. He had dreams of those lips against his as well. And he knew this was no human girl.
“Why were you trespassing in our land?” King Eventine asked.
The girl looked up at him. “Look, I know you think I’m a rover, but I swear to you that I’m not. I’m not an elf hunter, I’m not anything like that.”
           “Then what exactly are you?”
The girl shook her head. “You wouldn’t believe me if I told you.”
“I know what you are, girl,” Allanon spoke up.
She looked over at the druid and grinned. “As I know what you are, druid.” She rattled her shackles. “If you let me go, I can show you what I am.”
“I’d rather not. Either tell me what you are or I’ll have you thrown in the dungeons,” Eventine said. He was really not in a good mood.
The girl let out a deep sigh. “I’m an angel. My kind were once worshipped. I have decided that it is time that I come to earth and help you against these demons. I once fought them in my own time many thousands of years ago. Now, I suggest you have your men let me go before I let myself go.”
Eventine wasn’t sure what to do.
“I’m here to help. And I’m sure your druid friend can read my mind and tell you that what I say is true.” She cast her eyes over to Allanon. “I know you, druid. I’ve watched you over your lifetime. I know you can read my mind.”
Allanon shut his eyes and let himself into her mind. He saw her then, mighty silver and black wings allowing her to fly through the sky. She had a sword in her hands, dripping with black blood. Demons lay around her, all dead, and others were coming at her. She swung at them, none of them landing a single blow. Her wings would wrap around her at times, shielding her from the chaos. He saw other angels in her mind, fighting off demons. He pulled back from her mind and opened his eyes. She was smirking up at him.
“She tells the truth,” Allanon said. “I would suggest letting her go. She knows something about these demons we may not.”
Eventine nodded and gestured for the guards to release her. She rubbed her wrists once the shackles were gone and bowed to the king. “I do hope we can work together. I did not mean any disrespect towards you. I do believe introductions are needed. My name is (y/n). I am the twin sister of the angel that first created demons. I wish to end these demons once and for all.”
“You know who created these demons?” Eventine asked in shock.
“Unfortunately, yes. I killed him many thousand years ago, but his demons live on. I wish to get rid of them all.”
“Then we shall gladly accept your help.”
She bowed. “Now, if you don’t mind, is there a place I can let my wings out and rest for a while?” she asked.
Eventine had his guards take her to a room where she sat for a moment. She let her wings out from her back. They ached and were sore from being hidden for so long without being stretched. She stood up and popped her shoulders when a knock resounded on the door.
“You can come in,” she called in.
The door opened and Allanon entered. She knew why he was there. She had had the same dreams as he had. He stood for a moment admiring her wings unfurled in front of him. He had never seen anything like them before, so soft looking, yet from what he saw in her mind, were like a shield. He was so busy looking at them that he didn’t see that she was slowly getting closer until suddenly he was looking into her eyes.
“You’re here because of the dreams we share,” she whispered.
“Yes,” he said, his jaw clenching.
She reached up to touch his cheek, his beard scratching against her fingers. Visions flashed through her mind, visions both sweet and others sending heat through her body.
“I wish to know what they mean,” he said, taking her wrist in his hand.
“I know,” she whispered. “And I can tell you, but you may want to sit down for a moment.” She guided him to the bed and made him sit before she sat next to him, her wings folding up behind her. “This is going to sound really strange, at least in these times for I believe that this belief has been lost with the ancient humans. But, we are soulmates, something long since forgotten and lost unless you are a being that possess magic or abilities. You are my soulmate, as I am yours.”
Allanon simply stared at her with his deep brown eyes. He wasn’t sure what he should think about this, but it made sense for his dreams. “And how can you prove this?”
She let out a deep sigh and took his face in her hands, pulling his lips to hers. His beard was rough against her skin as her lips pressed against his. His hands moved on their own, one gripping her waist and the other pressing against her cheek. Electricity seemed to shoot through the two of them as their lips moved against each other. She pulled away from him and looked up at him. His eyes had remained shut for a moment before sliding open. “What you felt can only be felt by soulmates.”
He looked into her eyes and felt a deep connection with her. “Does this mean that we will die on the same day?”
“So you do know some things about soulmates.”
“I do know a few select things.” He smiled slightly, a sight she could get used to.
“Looks like we need to get to know one another if we are going to be soulmates and fighting a deadly demon army.”
He chuckled. “That may be a good idea.”

I am not an artist but in a bout of insomnia last night I used Faceapp to combine Manu Bennett and Chris Evans (plus Eric Dane’s eyes,) added some grey hair, made the eyes bluer and almost perfectly recreated how I imagine Dr. Richard Strand in my head based on his voice alone. And may I say, 10 outta 10 W O U L D S I M P.

Hey :) I was just wondering when it comes to the originals characters from the divergent series (like Four or Max). will the headcannons still be the ones who played those characters in the movies. Also will there be any updates in the near future?
Hey! Just now saw this…I’m scarcely on Tumblr anymore lol. I’m trying to update, but not finding any real time. I’m toying with just posting what I’ve written so far, just to set the stage for the next big chapter. If I can squeeze it in, hopefully I’ll have it by early next week.
While I love both Theo and Mekhi, they didn’t really do it for me in their roles. Theo wasn’t “tortured past” enough for me to be Four, and Mekhi didn’t have the intimidation and swagger I imagined Max would have. If I could have it my way, I’d have put Manu Bennett -L (Spartacus) as Max, and Alistair Brammer -R (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables) as Four. For good measure, I imagine Rochelle Aytes (Mistresses) as Max’s wife Emily, and Kenny Johnson (SOA/The Shield) as Tommy, Jade’s Father and Tamra’s ex husband.

So we all love Temuera Morrison as Boba, but is there another actor you could see in the role? Because it does put me off a little that Morrison's 60 years old, when Boba is supposed to be in his early 40s. Hell, isn't Bo-Katan older than Fett? Yet Katee Sackhoff is 40. Ming-Na Wen is pushing 60, yes, but that woman simply doesn't age lol. Dune is an original character, so she's as old as Carano (ugh) I guess. ngl, it irks me some. Manu Bennett is younger; so is Taika Waititi. Anyway, thoughts?
Oh it drives me *crazy* because he’s freakin’ 40 and people are calling him “grandpa” but at the same time I get it. It screws with our perception of the timeline when characters look noticeably older or younger than their ages.
I adore Temuera Morrison and love what he’s done in The Mandalorian but my position is still that I would have preferred a recast with a mid-thirties actor. This is for the purely selfish reason that a younger actor might be able to show up in pre-ANH shows such the Cassian Andor show and the Obi-Wan Kenobi show.
And don’t get me wrong, I love Manu Bennett, and I mean rail-me-Azog love him, but he’s 50 at this point and Taika Waititi is 45. So I dunno.
I don’t think I’ve ever really found anyone who immediately made me go “yup, that’s Boba” but for the heck of it my fancasting pick-of-the-day is Richard Te Are. Love his eyebrows. Love his eyes. 10/10 curls when his hair is short. Definitely could imagine him glaring beneath a helmet.
(Also he’s apparently going to be in a Starz historical drama and I want this hat)

Okay, so a while ago @whindsor asked me about my dream Legend of Zelda show and while I tried to answer on my computer, chrome kept crashing because my ideas were too amazing.
So here it is:
Tumblr media
As much as I would love to see a brand new story with a bunch of amazing characters and new ways to develop them, I’m so afraid that people would ruin it with awful writing.
My main pick is 100% Ocarina of Time. It’s the most well known, has a large cast of interesting characters, and has a plot that could keep people invested.
My second choice is Breath of the Wild.
That being said, my choices for the main three would stay that way regardless of what game they used.
CAST:
Link: Colin Ford.
While I prefer Link to be an unknown, especially because translating his character is going to be hard enough without worrying whether or not the person they chose could act, this is a fan cast and I can’t just say, an unknown for my pick.
I scoured some sites with some online FanCasts and Colin Ford was really the only one that I liked. He’s been in the industry forever and we know he can lead a show because he was on Daybreak (which is amazing). He also just looks like how I would imagine Link (aside from the hair but we can just dye it)
Honorable Mentions: Bradley James, William Moseley
Tumblr media
Princess Zelda: Eliza Taylor
Zelda is a hard role to cast. She needs to be a strong leader who has agency, but also compassionate and kind. Eliza Taylor is excellent at walking those two lines and her performance in the latest season of “the 100″ only cemented that for me.
Eliza Taylor wasn’t the first one that came to mind, but she’s the best one for this type of role. She’s been playing the Burdened leader for years. On top of this, she has experience in stunts and fight scenes which lends itself well to Sheik, and she looks like Zelda. I think she could play off the other two really well.
Honorable Mentions: Hannah New, Caity Lotz
Tumblr media
Ganon/Ganondorf: Manu Bennett
This is non negotiable. Manu is the best person for the role of Ganondorf period. He has the look, and he’s amazing at playing intimidating and complex villains. Manu has the ability to garner sympathy for his characters, regardless of how evil they may seem.
On top of this, He’s been in the industry forever, has experience with filming Fantasy shows and stunts, and he just has the commanding presence that Ganondorf needs. His voice is also perfect for the role, with his accent not too heavy but still there to sound unique.
Ganon was always the hardest one for me to cast, but since finding Manu I can’t imagine anyone else in the role.
Honorable Mentions: Idris Elba
Tumblr media
The Sages
note: these are based on looks and vibes. Their explanations will be short and sweet.
Rauru: Ian McShane or Jonathan Pryce
I’m torn between the two of them because they’d both make great mentor-type figures to Link, so I just listed them both. They have the same vibe, and have played these types of roles before (although I haven’t seen much of Ian McShane’s filmography)
Tumblr media
Impa: Adina Porter
Zoe Saldana will always be my number one pick for Impa, but since she’s kind of a big deal, I went with someone who could just as easily pull off that role. Adina has played the mentor role before while kicking ass and can walk the fine line between motherly and strict, which Impa is. She’s a fantastic actress and would be awesome as Impa.
Honorable Mention: Thandie Newton
Tumblr media
Saria: Millie Bobby Brown
My thoughts with the sages were that this was an area where they could utilize bigger names since they don’t appear onscreen that often. Millie Bobby Brown could definitely draw in some fans, especially if this was on Netflix. She also has the look and demeanor of Saria down, and she’s young enough to portray her.
Honorable Mention: Kiernan Shipka.
Tumblr media
Darunia: Dwayne Johnson
Again, I was thinking Star Power, and Dwayne Johnson would be perfect as Darunia. His nickname is “the Rock”. Dwayne Johnson is familiar with comedic relief roles and I think he would really bring out the fun side of Darunia, especially if you imagine him doing the dance to Saria’s song.
Honorable Mention: Nonso Anonzie
Tumblr media
Ruto: Gemma Chan
There’s no one else I want cast for this role than Gemma Chan. She’s excellent at playing those aloof-type princess roles and could bring a more serious and sympathetic side to Ruto, especially because she’s already a pretty divisive character depending on who you talk to.
Tumblr media
Nabooru: Summer Bishil
My love for Summer is no secret, but I genuinely think she could do such a good job playing Nabooru. If her work in the Magicians is any indication, she knows what she’s doing and puts a lot of thought into her characters, which needs to be done for the Gerudo, especially because of the not-great history of racism Nintendo has when it comes to them.
Honorable Mention: Nazanin Boniadi
Tumblr media
The Others
Malon: Sophie Turner
Talon: Danny Devito
Ingo: tbd
King of Hyrule: Bernard Hill
Young Zelda: McKenna Grace
Young Link: Walker Bryant
Young Ruto: tbd
Young Malon: Sadie Sink or Summer Fontana

Entertainment Weekly Arrow Article
We never get any big articles of Arrow, so yeah I am posting the whole damn thing. There were some interesting little tidbits and of course discussion around Emily Bett Rickards’ exit. Is it wrong that I am low key pissed that of course Arrow gets the cover of EW after she leaves? Is it also wrong that while I’m happy Arrow is getting some attention, I’m annoyed it wasn’t an Olicity cover? Cuz that’s where I am at. (X)

How Arrow saved the TV superhero — and why it had to end
As 'Arrow' prepares for the end, Stephen Amell and the producers reflect on its origin story and preview the 'Crisis'-bound eighth and final season.
Stephen Amell is dreading the eighth and final season of Arrow, though you wouldn’t know it on this hot, sunny July day in Los Angeles. Wearing Green Arrow’s new suit, the CW star seems perfectly at ease as he strikes heroic pose after heroic pose on a dimly lit stage. But once he’s traded heavy verdant leather for a T-shirt, jeans, and baseball cap, his guard drops and the vulnerability starts to creep in as he contemplates Arrow’s last 10 episodes, which was set to begin production in Vancouver a week after the EW photoshoot took place and premieres Oct. 15.
“I’m very emotional and melancholy, but it’s time,” Amell — who is featured on the new cover of Entertainment Weekly — says as he takes a sip from a pint of Guinness. “I’m 38 years old, and I got this job when I was 30. I’d never had a job for more than a year. The fact that I’ve done this for the better part of a decade, and I’m not going to do it anymore, is a little frightening.”
Tumblr media
Developed by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kreisberg, Arrow debuted in the fall of 2012. The DC Comics series follows billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Amell), who, after years away, returned to now–Star City with one goal: to save his home-town as the hooded bow-and-arrow vigilante who would become known as Green Arrow (it would take him four seasons to assume the moniker). What began as a solo crusade eventually grew to include former soldier John Diggle (David Ramsey), quirky computer genius Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), lawyer-turned-hero Laurel Lance/Black Canary (Katie Cassidy Rodgers), and the rest of Team Arrow. Together they’ve defended their city from a host of threats — dark archers, megalomaniacal magicians, and the occasional metahuman — while Lost-like flashbacks revealed what Oliver endured in the five years he was away, first shipwrecked and then honing his skills around the world to become someone else, something else.
The premiere gave The CW its most-watched series debut since 2009’s The Vampire Diaries. But before they launched Arrow, Berlanti and Guggenheim had to suffer through a failure: 2011’s Green Lantern, starring Ryan Reynolds. The duo co-wrote the script but lost creative control of the film, which flopped. So when Warner Bros. Television president Peter Roth approached them in late 2011 about developing a Green Arrow show, they were wary. After much deliberation, Berlanti and Guggenheim agreed, on the condition that they maintain control. Says Guggenheim, “As long as we succeed or fail on our own work, and not someone else’s work then maybe this is worth a shot.”
Their take on the Emerald Archer — who made his DC Comics debut in 1941 — was noteworthy from the beginning. Taking cues from films like The Dark Knight and The Bourne Identity and series like Homeland, the writers imagined a dark, gritty, and grounded show centered on a traumatized protagonist. “As we were breaking the story, we made very specific commitments to certain tonal things, such as ‘At the end of act 1, he has his hands around his mother’s throat.’ And, ‘At the end of act 2, he kills a man in cold blood to protect his secret,’ ” says Guggenheim.
A hero committing murder? That was practically unheard of then. Having Oliver suit up in a veritable superhero costume by the pilot’s climax was radical too. Sure, the Marvel Cinematic Universe was deep into Phase One when the producers were developing Arrow, but TV was traditionally more apprehensive about comic books. Smallvillefamously had a “no tights, no flights” rule and only introduced superhero costumes in the last years of its 10-season run, and there weren’t any masked avengers running around NBC’s Heroes or ABC’s No Ordinary Family, the latter produced by Berlanti (Let’s not even mention NBC’s The Cape, which was essentially dead on arrival and never did get its six seasons and a movie). But Arrow not only fully committed to the idea of someone dressing up like Robin Hood to fight crime with a bow and arrow, it introduced a second costumed rogue, the Huntress (Jessica De Gouw), in episode 7.
“It’s just comic book to the extreme and the fans seem to really love it,” says Batwomanshowrunner Caroline Dries, a former writer on Smallville. “They still maintain it very grounded, but it’s very different with everyone in costumes. The appetite for superheroes has changed in my mind in terms of like they just want the literal superhero [now].”
Not that the team wasn’t meticulous about creating Green Arrow’s cowl. “We had to have so many conversations to get it approved, but that’s why we got [Oscar winner] Colleen Atwood [Memoirs of a Geisha] at the time to [design] the suit,” says Berlanti. “We were determined to show we could do on TV what they were doing in the movies every six months.”
“It’s really easy to make a guy with a bow and arrow look silly. We sweated every detail,” says Guggenheim, who also recalls how much effort it took to perfect Oliver’s signature growl. “I actually flew up to Vancouver. On a rooftop during reshoots on [episode 4], Stephen and I went through a variety of different versions of, basically, ‘You have failed this city,’ with different amounts of how much growl he’s putting into his performance. [We] recorded all that, [I went] back to Los Angeles, and then sat with the post guys playing around with all the different amounts of modulation.”
That process took eons compared to the unbelievably easy time the team had casting Arrow’s title role. In fact, Amell was the first person to audition for the role. “It was Stephen’s intensity. He just made you believe he was that character,” says Guggenheim, recalling Amell’s audition. “We had crafted Oliver to be this mystery box character, and Stephen somehow managed to find this balance between being totally accessible in a way you would need a TV star to be, but he’s still an enigma.” After his first reading, Amell remembers being sent outside for a short time before being brought back into the room to read for a larger group: “I called [my manager], and I go, ‘I know this is not how it’s supposed to work, but I just got that job.’”
Tumblr media
In the first season, the show’s chief concerns were maintaining both the “grounded and real” tone and the high quality of the stunts, and investing the audience in Oliver’s crusade. Beyond that, though, there wasn’t much of an over-arching plan, which allowed the show to naturally evolve — from introducing more DC characters, such as Deathstroke (Manu Bennett) and Roy Harper (Colton Haynes), sooner than they initially intended (the shot of Deathstroke’s mask in the pilot was meant as a harmless Easter egg), to promoting Emily Bett Rickards’ Felicity from a one-off character in the show’s third episode to a series regular in season 2 and eventually Oliver’s wife. Even the whole idea of a Team Arrow — which, over time, added Oliver’s sister Thea (Willa Holland), Rene Ramirez/Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez) and Dinah Drake/Black Canary (Juliana Harkavy) — was the result of the writers allowing the best ideas to guide the story. “Greg used to say all the time, ‘You have a hit TV show until you don’t, so don’t save s—,’ ” says Amell.
Also not planned: Arrow spawning an entire shared universe. “We went on record a lot of times during the premiere of the pilot saying, ‘No superpowers, no time travel.’ But midway through season 1, Greg started to harbor a notion of doing the Flash,” says Guggenheim. “I’m a very big believer that it’s great to have a plan, but I think when it comes to creating a universe, the pitfall is that people try to run before they can walk. The key is, you build it show by show.” And so they did. First, they introduced The Flash star Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen in the two-part midseason finale of Arrow’s second season. From there, Supergirl took flight in 2015, then DC’s Legends of Tomorrow in 2016, and Batwoman is due this fall. “It’s like the hacking of the machete in the woods and then you look back and you’re like, ‘Oh, there’s a path,” says executive producer and Berlanti Productions president Sarah Schechter. But even though Arrowis the universe’s namesake, Amell doesn’t concern himself with the sibling series outside of the now-annual crossovers. “I never think about any of the other shows,” he says. “I want all of them to do great, but they’re not my responsibility. My responsibility is Arrow, and to make sure everyone from the cast to the crew are good.” His sentiments are seconded by Flash’s Gustin: “I don’t understand how he does it — his schedule that he maintains with working out, the conventions he goes to, the passion he has for it, and the love he shows towards fans. He’s always prepared. He cares more about that show being high quality than anybody else on the set.”
That said, the universe’s expansion precipitated what is widely considered to be Arrow’s best season, the fifth one. After focusing on magic in season 4, the show returned to its street-crime roots as part of “a concerted effort to play not just to our strengths but what made the shows unique,” Guggenheim says of balancing their four super-series in 2016. “Because Arrow was the longest-running Arrowverse show, we were able to do something that none of the other shows could do, which is have a villain who was basically born out of the events of season 1,” he explains of introducing Adrian Chase/Prometheus (Josh Segarra), whose criminal father was killed by Oliver. “That gave the season a resonance.”
It was midway through season 6 when Amell realized he was ready to hang up Oliver Queen’s hood. “It was just time to move on,” the actor says of pitching that Oliver leave the series at the end of season 7. “My daughter is turning six in October, and she goes to school in L.A., and my wife and I want to raise her [there].” Berlanti persuaded him to return for one final season, which the producers collectively decided would be the end. “We all felt in our gut it was the right time,” says Berlanti. Adds Schechter, “It’s such a privilege to be able to say when something’s ending as opposed to having something just ripped away.”
But there’s one integral cast member who won’t be around to see Arrow through its final season. This spring, fans were devastated to learn Rickards had filmed her final episode—bringing an end to Olicity. “They’re such opposites. I think that’s what draws everyone in a little bit,” showrunner Beth Schwartz says of Oliver and Felicity’s relationship. “You don’t see the [love story of] super intelligent woman and the sort of hunky, athletic man very often. She’s obviously a gorgeous woman but what he really loves is her brain.” For his part, Amell believes the success of both Felicity and Olicity lies completely with Rickards’ performance. “She’s supremely talented and awesome and carved out a space that no one anticipated. I don’t know that show works if we don’t randomly find her,” says Amell, adding that continuing the series without Team Arrow’s heart is “not great. Arrow, as you know it, has effectively ended. It’s a different show in season 8.” And he’s not exaggerating.
The final season finds Oliver working for the all-seeing extra-terrestrial the Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) and trying to save the entire multiverse from a cataclysmic event. “[We’re] taking the show on the road, really getting away from Star City. Oliver is going to be traveling the world, and we’re going to go to a lot of different places,” says Guggenheim. “Every time I see Oliver and the Monitor, it’s like, ‘Okay, we are very far from where we started.’ But again, that means the show has grown and evolved.” Adds Schwartz, “This is sort of his final test because it’s greater than Star City.” Along the way, he will head down memory lane, with actor Colin Donnell, who played Oliver’s best friend Tommy Merlyn in season 1, and Segarra’s Adrian Chase making appearances. “Episode 1 is an ode to season 1, and episode 2 is an ode to season 3,” teases Amell. “We’re playing our greatest hits.”
But season 8 is not just about building toward a satisfying series finale. “Everything relates to what’s going to happen in our crossover episode, which we’ve never done before,” says Schwartz. Spanning five hours and airing this winter, “Crisis on Infinite Earths” will be the biggest crossover yet and may see Oliver perish trying to save the multiverse from destruction, if the Monitor’s prophecy is to be believed. “Oliver [is told] he’s going to die, so each episode in the run-up to ‘Crisis’ has Oliver dealing with the various stages of grief that come with that discovery,” says Guggenheim. “So the theme really is coming to terms, acceptance.”
If there’s one person who has made his peace with Oliver’s fate, it’s Amell. “Because he’s a superhero with no superpowers, I always felt he should die — but he may also not die,” says Amell, who actually found out what the show’s final scene would be at EW’s cover shoot. “I cried as [Marc Guggenheim] was telling me. There are a lot of hurdles to get over to make that final scene.” Get this man some more Guinness!

Okay, so @businesspumpkin had asked about faceclaims for Sacred Seasons? Well, and I was awake.
First off, my boy Christoph, warlock and total slut tramp-about-town banging enthusiast rake. his facecaim is Rahul Kohli.
Tumblr media
For the lovely Lady Laurana, our necromancer, her faceclaim is Eva Green:
Tumblr media
Mavis, our adorable troublemaker and cleric, her faceclaim is Freya Mavor:
Tumblr media
Girda, our local badass expert in buckling swashes and distracting us with hotness, has Ronda Rousey as a faceclaim, just as a half-orc, green, and not a terrible person:
Tumblr media
And Rezzi, the local ball of books and sunshine, who also happens to be our tiefling warlock, well, imagine Kimiko Glenn, but with blue skin and with horns.
Tumblr media
Rowan doesn’t quite have an exact faceclaim, I think, but I seem to recall that Manu Bennett’s name was mentioned?
Tumblr media
And, just as an added bonus, our maiden of the windmill, Prianna:
Tumblr media
So, that at least introduces a few of the main characters for you!

The Paradox Hotel by Rob Hart Rating - 4.5 Stars Link: https://books2read.com/paradoxhotel Review: This is my first book by Rob Hart, and I must admit, it was the beautiful cover and the promise of time travel that reeled me in and made me want to read this story. I enjoyed the non-linear way this story was told, with time jumping for the main character, January, due to her condition. There were several twists and turns which made for a compelling mystery, but I feel this book was more character-focused than anything. January is a likable character precisely because she doesn't really like anyone, not even Ruby, her drone, who I affectionately imagine with Manu Bennett's voice as it's mentioned to have a Kiwi accent after she hacked it. January's interactions with Ruby are some of the best bits of the book! There's also plenty of LGBTQIA+ representation with same-sex couples, as well as a non-binary character and a trans character. What I love about this is that none of these characters feel tokenized and just there for rep. They have some of the most beautiful lines and scenes in the book. I mentioned this book is more about character than the murder mystery, and that is exceedingly true for January, who goes on a journey of healing from extreme grief, guilt, and self-loathing. There are also plenty of wild antics along the way, including a dino chase Jurassic park style! All in all, this was a very enjoyable read. The ending was a bit weak, choosing to end with a whimper rather than a bang, but endings are hard! I'd give this a 4.5.

Note
Just out of curiosity, what do you imagine Alastor Moody's exact age or age range to be? Could you possibly see Manu Bennett for him? I love this concept, can't wait to see the skeletons themselves!
Hi, hon! Thank you so much for your kind words, we’re super excited to start releasing them (along with our main) as soon as possible!!
Currently, Alastor’s age is set at thirty-eight, but we will be more than willing to accommodate small changes in our skeletons to better fit the vision of our applicants. As for Manu Bennett — we definitely could see him for our Alastor, and not to mention, just to stare at on our dashboards!

Deadly Magic
Summary: You and the pack go into the woods to search for a chimera but things go wrong and you have to use your witch powers to save your boyfriend Isaac
Isaac Lahey x Reader
Word Count: 3,412
Author’s Note: The witch powers are based off of some of my favorite witches: Bonnie Bennett and the show Charmed
Side Note: Bonnie Bennett deserved better

This wasn’t how you planned to spend your Friday night; walking through the woods, tracking a chimera down, trying to stop him from causing any more damage than he already had. But most of your nights consisted of you doing something you hadn’t planned. That’s what happens when your friends are supernatural creatures. Also the fact that you’re a witch caused you to have not so normal weekends.
Isaac got out of the passenger side of your car as you met up in front of Roscoe with Stiles, Scott, & Malia.
“Alright,” Scott said as he looked between you all. “Stiles heard that someone reported a creature in the woods while they were camping here over the police scanner. A deputy was sent to check it out but found nothing.  We know it was probably another chimera, but we have to find it before it attacks someone.”
“So what’s the plan?” Malia asked.
“Me, you, & Isaac are going to go check out the campsite where it was reported at. It probably won’t still be there, but we can try to catch its scent. Y/N and Stiles will stay here while she does a locator spell.”
“Can you do a locator spell without anything to go on?” Stiles asked.
“I’ve done it once before. It’s hard without a personal item, but I can still try.” You answered.
“Okay, let’s split up.” Scott said.
You were about to walk to your car to grab the map and the crystal you need to scry, but Isaac stopped you.
“Are you going to be okay with just Stiles?”
You looked up at your boyfriend smiling. It was nice to have someone care about you so much. “I’ll be fine, Isaac. I’m a big girl. I can handle myself.”
“It’s not you I’m worried about. Stiles will probably find some way to mess everything up.”
“Hey!” Stiles yelled throwing his arms in the air. “I’m standing right here, I can hear everything you’re saying.”
“I know,” Isaac said not even glancing away from your eyes.
“I got this, babe.” You pecked his lips as you walked backwards towards your car not once breaking eye contact with Isaac.
When you got back to Stiles’ jeep, the others were already gone. You spread the map out over the hood of the jeep and dangled the crystal over the map hoping to find the chimera.
The crystal began swinging around, faster and faster. You started to get a bad feeling in your chest as the crystal was spinning quicker. You reached up with your free hand and placed it over your heart as your face grimaced.
“Y/N, are you okay?” Stiles said as he placed his hand on your back.
Suddenly, the crystal was pulled down onto a point on the map.
You knew what was wrong. Your eyes grew wide as you let out a shaky break with only one word leaving your lips.
“Isaac.”
You started running to where the crystal landed on the map as Stiles tried to keep up.
“Y/N,” Stiles heaved out. “Wait!”
There was no time for waiting, something was wrong with Isaac and you had to get to him as soon as possible.
You made it to the campsite where the others were supposed to look for the chimera. The leaves crunched under your feet as you stopped, looking at the sight in front on you. Isaac was laying on the ground bleeding. His chest was still moving up and down but his breaths were shallow. His hand was lying on his abdomen covering a bleeding wound. Scott was kneeling next to him and Malia was standing right behind them.
Slowly, you approached them as tears began to fall from your eyes.
“Isaac,” you said barely above a whisper but his werewolf hearing let him hear you. His eyelids fluttered up, making eye contact with you.
“Baby,” he murmured.
You fell down to the ground next to him and gently pulled his head into your lap. Scott stepped back to give you two space.
“Why aren’t you healing?” you asked looking down at Isaac, moving his hand from his wound. “Scott why isn’t he healing?” you asked looking up at the alpha.
“I-I don’t know. Whatever the chimera did to him isn’t letting him heal.” He looked down as he said, “And it’s not letting me take his pain away.”
You started muttering no’s to yourself. Flashbacks of Allison dying in Scott’s arms played in your head. You remembered how Scott said he couldn’t take away Allison’s pain. But Ali wasn’t in pain. She was dying and it didn’t hurt.
“Isaac, you have to hold on, okay. We’ll get you to Deaton’s office. And- and he’ll fix it. You’ll be fi-,”
“Y/N,” Isaac interrupted. He reached up and stroked your cheek, wiping away a few tears. “I’m not going to make it to Deaton’s office.”
“Don’t say that,” you said angrily. You turned around to Stiles and said, “Stiles go start the jeep.” You turned back around and looked up at Scott and Malia, “Help me get him up and-,”
“Y/N,” Isaac attempted to shout to get your attention but it still came out pretty low. He began to cough and some blood came out.
You pulled him in closer to you. After he caught his breath he said, “It’s going to be okay.”
“How can you say that? I can’t lose you Isaac.”
“You’re strong Y/N. You can get through this. Promise me you’ll get through this.”
“You’re acting like this is just some assignment I’m failing.”
“Promise. Me.” Isaac’s breathing was getting shallower. You knew it wouldn’t be long before he couldn’t say anything.
“Okay,” you nodded your head. “I promise.” You ran your fingers through his curly brown hair while the other rested on his chest. Isaac let his hand rest on yours while he stared into your eyes. You were the closest person to him. Your relationship was 8 months of pure bliss, and if Isaac had to go, he couldn’t imagine a better way to go than in your arms.
You leaned down and gave Isaac a soft, lingering peck on the lips. As you pulled away, Isaac squeezed your hand one last time, then his eyes shut. His chest stopped rising and his grip on your hand loosened.
The tears began freefalling from your face. You squeezed your eyes shut, but nothing could stop the tears from flowing. Only your sobs and the sounds of crickets could be heard. You leaned over Isaac’s lifeless body, pressing your head to his. You squeezed his hand, silently praying that he would wake up.
A few minutes went by and your cries had died down. You sat up letting go of Isaac sniffling, wiping your remaining tears from your face. You slowly stood up and turned around. The others looked between one another curious about what you were about to do.
Malia stayed behind while Scott and Stiles followed you.
“Y/N, where are you going?” Stiles asked concerned.
“To my car.”
“Stiles can take you, you shouldn’t drive yourself home right now,” Scott said.
“I’m not going home.”
“Where are you going?” Stiles asked.
“I’m going to save Isaac,” you answered like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Scott and Stiles looked at each other with confused looks on their faces. You made it to your car and began pulling things out of your glove compartment.
“Y/N,” Scott said sympathetically, “Isaac’s gone. There’s nothing we can do.”
“There may be nothing you can do, but I can.” You slammed the car door shut and started walking back to the camp ground.
“What are you going to do?”
You sighed, “After Allison died, I was a wreck. When I went to New Orleans over the summer I spent some time with my cousin the black sheep of the family. She’s the black sheep because she likes to practice some,” you paused and thought for a second, “darker magic.”
“Dark magic?” Stiles asked.
“I told her about all the crap we deal with and what happened to Allison. She told me there was a way I wouldn’t have to go through that again.” You turned to both of them shaking your head, “I can’t go through that again.”
“Is it safe?” Scott asked even though he already knew the answer.
You laughed under your breath, “You’re kidding me right? Nothing we do in this town is safe!” you yelled. “We’re in the woods at night looking for a werewolf experiment gone wrong. We’ve fought a kanima, an alpha pack, and we were put on a hit list with other supernatural creatures. Now isn’t the time to ask if this is safe.”
During your rant you made it back to the campground and spread your supplies on the ground around you.
Malia’s scrunched her eyebrows trying to figure out what you were doing. “Stiles, what’s going on?”
“She’s about to try to bring Isaac back with black magic.”
“Where did she learn black magic from? Her mom is crazy strict about her powers.”
“When she was in New Orleans,” he answered Malia. He turned his attention back onto you and said, “Y/N, I don’t think this is such a good idea.”
“Good thing you don’t have to do it then.”
You spell book was laid out in front of you and you placed your crystals around Isaac’s body. Before you began the spell, you poured the contents of a small black bag into your hand.
Scott knew what it was instantly. “Y/N, why do you need that?”
You blew the mountain ash from your hand and it formed a circle around you and Isaac.
“So you won’t try to stop me.”
You read the spell from the book one time and began chanting it over and over.
“Cinis cinerem. Pulvis sunt pariter. Nunc terga manus. Sana quod est sáucium. Redde quod meum est cum fuit.”
The more times you repeated the spell the windier it got. You began to think the spell wasn’t working, so each time you got louder. You felt the power began to drain out of you.
“Y/N!” Stiles yelled, “Maybe it’s time to stop!”
But you weren’t listening. He crossed the mountain ash barrier and you waved you hand, pushing him back. His body slammed to the ground and he grunted in pain. Malia ran over to make sure he was alright.
You repeated the spell again and your nose began to bleed.
Now Scott tried to reason with you. “Y/N! This spell is too much for you! You have to stop!”
You just continued the spell louder. The blood from your nosed trickled down to your mouth. Your body started shaking and Isaac’s body lifted a few inches off the ground. You knew the spell was working but you weren’t sure you had enough energy left in you to continue.
Everything after that happened so fast. You said the spell with the intention of repeating it until Isaac’s eyes were open again, but it had taken too much out of you. The last time you said it, Isaac’s body dropped back onto the ground and you fell over. The mountain ash surrounding you two blown away.
The others rushed to your side to help.
Scott was on his knees leaning over you. “Y/N? Y/N!” He shouted as he moved your hair out of your face.
Malia’s eyes scanned your body, “Her heart is still beating so she’s not dead.”
“What do we do Scott?” Stiles asked.
“Let’s get her to your jeep.”
“And take her where? To the hospital?”
“This is a witch problem, we should take her to Deaton,” Malia said.
“But Deaton hardly knows anything about witches,” Stiles argued. “He mostly deals with werewolves.”
“Yeah, but what if she wakes up and some witchy stuff happens? How are we supposed to explain that to a bunch of doctors?” Malia retorted.
“This isn’t the time to argue!” Scott shouted. “Let’s just get her in the jeep and I’ll-.”
Scott suddenly stopped looking up, his eyes searching the woods. “Malia, do you hear that?”
Malia focused her hearing then nodded her head.
“What? Hear what? Regular old human over here?”
“It’s another heartbeat.”
The three heard moaning and everyone looked over to see Isaac moving.
“Oh my God. Y/N’s spelled worked,” Stiles said.
“We’ve got to get Y/N some help now. I’ll carry Y/N and you two help Isaac up,” Scott directed.
As they were walking to the jeep, Isaac was become more aware of his surroundings.
“What’s going on?” Isaac asked trying to keep up with how fast Malia and Stiles were walking.
“Your girlfriend did some voodoo magic knocking her unconscious,” Stiles answered.
“What?” Isaac asked in shock looking at Stiles.
“Yeah, and we’re trying to figure out where to take her,” Malia added.
“Guys, hurry up,” Scott shouted from the jeep. He was carrying you bridal style placing you in the back seat.
Stiles and Malia got to the jeep helping Isaac in the back, then rushing to the front. Scott was seated beside you as you sat in the middle still unconscious.
“Okay, Scott,” Stiles said starting up Roscoe, “Where too?”
“To Deaton’s,” Isaac answered. “And call her Mom.”
“But her Mom-,” Malia started.
“Her Mom will be the only one who knows what to do. She’ll be mad, but Y/N will be alive.” Isaac said as he stroked your cheek.
Hours later, you bolted up. Your breathing was rapid as you looked around realizing you were in your room.
“Hey. Hey, it’s okay,” Isaac said trying to calm you down sitting on the edge of your bed. “Everything’s fine.”
“I thought you were- you were-,” you stuttered.
“I know,” Isaac said stroking your hair. “I’m fine now. Thanks to you.”
You reached up touching his face taking him all in. You wanted to make sure this wasn’t some sick dream playing with your head.
“I’m fine, Y/N.”
Your eyes began to water and a sob left your lips. You pulled Isaac in for a hug. “I thought I lost you.”
“I thought I lost you,” Isaac repeated. He pulled away from you still holding on, “What were you thinking Y/N. You could have died trying to save me.”
You wiped a tear from your faces as you replied, “But I didn’t.”
“But you could have.”
“I’m fine, Isaac.”
“Scott told me what happened. Your nose was bleeding and you were shaking. You were unconscious Y/N. Black magic? Really?”
You pulled your legs up to your chest looking down at your legs covered by your sheets, “You’re alive aren’t you?”
“Yes, but at what cost?!” Isaac yelled. “You could have died. And what if you would have died and I didn’t come back? Huh? It would have all been for nothing?”
“But you’re here! I’m here! Everything’s fine.”
“That’s not the point Y/N. I don’t want you doing black magic again.”
“What?” You looked up at Isaac.
“You heard me. I don’t want you trying to raise the dead again. It’s too dangerous.”
“But it brought you back.”
“I don’t care. You could have died, and nothing is worth that.”
“Isaac, you can’t tell me what to do. If I have to do it again, I will.”
“God what is wrong with you,” Isaac shouted turning away from you. His elbows were on his knees and he began running his fingers through his curly brown hair in frustration. “Why are you so stubborn? Why would you risk your life like that?”
You looked down to where your fingers were fiddling with a loose string from your sheets. “I couldn’t lose you Isaac.” You were quiet for a moment before you whispered, “I love you.”
Isaac slowly lifted his head up from his hands and turned to look at you. Your head was laying on your knees not wanting to look at how disappointed your boyfriend was in you.
“What did you say?”
You sighed, “Isaac, you’re a werewolf. I know you heard me.”
“Just say it again.”
You looked up making eye contact with Isaac. “I love you okay. I know we haven’t said it before. And it’s like the most cliché thing in the world to say it after a life or death situation but-.”
“I love you, too.” Isaac said quickly.
You just stared at him not knowing what to say. You two had been dating for 8 months, but it shocked you to know he loved you too.
“Are you going to say anything?”
“I didn’t exactly imagine having this moment after you died and I fell unconscious, so it’s going to take me some time to figure it out.”
Isaac turned his body to face you more and grabbed your hand. “Y/N, I love you. I would hate if you died trying to do any magic to save me. Especially black magic. Your mother told me doing magic like that has repercussions. I could have lost you today.”
“I did lose you, Isaac. I know that type of magic is dangerous. But I had to do it. And I don’t care what anyone says, I would do it again in a heartbeat if it meant I could have you even for a minute longer.”
“There’s no convincing you otherwise is there?” Isaac asked already knowing the answer, reaching up to rub your cheek.
“No,” you replied shaking your head. “But I love that you care so much to try.”
Isaac just grinned at you, looking into your eyes lovingly. He glanced down at your lips briefly, then back up to your eyes. You both leaned in slowly, your lips connecting in a sweet and passionate kiss. Isaac’s other hand reached up and cupped your cheek. You dropped your legs and turned your body so you were facing him more. You slid you hand behind his neck, playing with the hair at the nape of his neck, while your other hand rested on his chest. All you were thinking about was how much you loved him.
When you pulled apart, you stared at him with a stupid grin on your face. “See, everything didn’t turn out so bad.”
“I wouldn’t say that just yet,” Isaac dropped his hands from your cheeks.
You scrunched your eyebrows at him, “Why?”
“You mom said I could wait in here until you woke up, but I had to let you know you were grounded for a month.”
“That actually seems pretty fair. I can’t be mad at her for that.”
“I actually think it should be longer since you could have died, but after this the only time I can see you is at school, so I thought it would be best if I didn’t add my two cents.”
“Good idea,” you nodded.
“Yeah, I thought so,” Isaac grinned.
“Well, since I’ll only be seeing you at school for the next 30 days, we should get in as much kissing as possible now.”
“Now that’s a good idea,” Isaac said. “I knew I loved you for more than your good looks.”
“Well, I’m only in this for these blue eyes and this chin of yours,” you said grabbing his chin and shaking his head.
“Oh, really,” Isaac raised his eyebrows, “That’s it. There’s nothing else?”
“How could I forget? I do love these lips of yours.”
Isaac got up from you bed and said, “And on that note, I’ll leave you alone to do your sentencing.”
“Oh, come on baby. I was only kidding. I love how protective and caring you are.”
Isaac slowly began to come back to your bed. “Go on,” he said with a growing smile on his face.
“I love how sweet you are with me and only me.”
“I’m listening,” Isaac said sitting on your bed.
“I love how you are with my mother, and how you watch my favorite movies with me even though you know I’ll just end up quoting it while it’s playing.”
“You should really love me for that last part. It’s not fun watching Clueless for the 100th time when you say all of Cher’s lines.”
“I love that you know who Cher is,” you said wrapping your arms around Isaac’s neck.
“I. Just. Love. You.” You said pecking his lips in between every word. “I love you, Isaac Lahey.”
Isaac had the biggest smile you had ever seen on his face when he said, “I love you, Y/N Y/L/N.”
