Tienen mudas cada cierto tiempo, hasta alcanzar el tamaño de un adulto. ⠀ Son capaces de girar su cabeza en 180 grados para observar su entorno. 😵 ⠀ Cuentan con un solo oído y no lo tiene en la cabeza sino en el tórax. 😱 ⠀ Las Mantis son expertas en el camuflaje. Las especies que viven en el suelo se suelen camuflar de color marrón, mientras que las que viven en las hojas y en las copas de los árboles lo hacen de verde, y qué decir de las mantis orquídeas :'D ⠀ Una de las características más conocidas de las mantis es el canibalismo sexual de las hembras, puesto que las hembras de algunas especies de mantis se comen al macho al aparearse con él. Si, la hembra, tras una compleja danza de apareamiento realizada por el macho, le va mordiendo la cabeza o las patas en lo que dura este. 😏 La realidad es que esto se produce en menos del 30% de los apareamientos.
