i don't remember exactly from the books, but the first time i read them i just assumed that remus straight up didn't know where harry was. like, he might have been able to assume he was with lily's family, but does remus know who the dursleys are? dudley's a bit older than harry, but not much, so presumably petunia married around the same age as lily. does remus remember the name of his friend's wife's estranged sister's husband? or is he like, idk, i was seventeen and there was a fucking war on, i think it was victor or verne or something. last name? didn't catch it.

and even if he got his hands on a phone book and tracked them down, how's he gonna find them? call up the dursleys and say "yeah, i'm one of james's schoolfriends, i'd like to see harry, please." petunia would hang up that call immediately even if she didn't hate magic, because she's not giving a total stranger her current address and access to her very young children. on the off chance she knows who remus is, that's all the more reason for her not to tell him. she clearly wants him to have nothing to do the wizarding world (see: reaction to harry's hogwarts letter), and remus would be an immediate point of entry.

common criticism i see of remus lupin is that he should've taken in harry as a baby (forseeing his mistreatment by the dursleys) but petunia is harry's blood relative. she is a mother, financially stable, and physically and psychologically capable; she and vernon are ostensibly fit to accept a second child. meanwhile, remus is a single 21-year-old who can never have stable employment. he can't afford childcare while he's working/wolfing. even if he had money, his mental state (likely the worst of his depression) is in shambles after the deaths of his friends and comrades. his furry problem would be a danger to harry. he no longer has a strong support system. he is in no state to, especially by himself, figure out how to care for an infant, raise a child, and protect this very very high-profile boy from politics, violence, and literally himself. and remus never checks up on harry or visited him, because he trusts dumbledore implicitly and can't imagine that his childhood would be unsafe. i think he wouldn't presume that petunia could mistreat harry either. he's friends with james, but doesn't seem to know lily that well (lily's letters talk about sirius, but never remus) so maybe he doesn't know of her hatred for wizards.

I finally decided to suck it up and catch up with twst book 7, I stopped after seeing Silver cry because I'm sCARED OF BEING SAD 😭😭 anyway here's a few reactions I had to it 😭

Lilia pressuring Epel like the old man he is 😭😭 I love the moments that they remind us just how old Lilia actually is and how he sees most if not all the students as if they were his children/grand children, making sure they get the most out of the party and drink...its giving "What do you mean you're not hungry? Absolutely not. Here Is at least 5 servings of whatever dish I made to help u grow big and strong."

Okay I didn't take a screen shot of it but the entire section where Lilia looked kind of guilty with Ortho about exchanging addresses because you just KNOW he probably isn't gonna check in, presumably because he doesn't want anyone to get More attached to him seeing as he is nearing the end of his life span (crying shaking throwing up)

A/N: I am working on a Negan and Reader having a baby request rn actually, so this will be some Headcanons lmao. I got like 5 anons with baby fever in my ask box rn and I am here to support you all LMAO

He still has multiple wives when you find out, so you're very hesitant about telling him. He's mentioned to you a lot more personal things than he ever did any of the other women, but you still were uncertain if you were really his favorite. Plus, even though he mentioned that he and his actual wife, Lucille, had wanted a baby. You weren't sure if he still wanted that baby, especially with you.

You try avoiding him for a few weeks, but it doesn't work. He finds you and confronts you about the behavior. He doesn't raise his voice with you once, though. Any of his other spouses he would, but you took a notice that they weren't even his spouses anymore. They were mostly just his servants and leverage against Dwight and some of the other men he took the girls from.

"What's been with you lately? I haven't seen ya around. I didn't do anything, did I?" He'd ask, and you'd feel your heart swell because for some reason you did love him. Even if at first you weren't the only person he was sleeping with.

You'd be scared, and he could tell that something was up so he'd lead you into either your own room or his room - whichever was closer - in order to give you privacy and set you down beside him. "Come on honey, you can talk to me," he'd assure, smiling as he reached up to brush his knuckles over your cheeks.

"I'm pregnant, and it's yours."

He wouldn't react at first. His eyes wide as he stared at you and it'd scare you. You'd be afraid he might kill you and stick you out on that fence to deter his enemies from the compound - but then he finally reacted.

"Mine? My baby... I'm gonna be a dad?" He'd ramble, jolting to his feet as a surge of energy shot through his body. Leaving you sitting on the bed alone as he paced the room in front of you. "We're having a cub?" He'd speak and his voice would crack. Facing you with the biggest and most genuine smile, his eyes brimmed with tears and he raced back over to you. Long strides making his way to in front of you so he could kneel. Being just a little shorter than you on the bed, now.

"How far are you?" He'd ask, and you could practically feel the excitement that radiated off the man, and it gave you hope that your kid might actually get a good father. "Only a few weeks, a month at most the doc said." You spoke, and he reached up to hold the sides of your face. "I hope they have your eyes," He'd tell you, and you'd feel your whole body heat up. Eyes darting to the side with a sheepish smile, but it was quick to fade.

"What's wrong?" He'd asked. "I'm not really that important, though. You have other wives, it could have been one of them carrying your baby." You frowned, and he shook his head. "I stopped sleeping with them a long time ago, honey bunches," he'd tell you, rubbing his thumbs over your cheek bones. "Stopped claiming them, too. They're just kept up here to keep the guys in line." he'd hum, "I only want you, I promise you that. Have I ever lied?" He hadn't. He always told you the truth and you both knew it.

He'd prove it to your further by even making it so the other women dressed in more casual clothing. None of them referred to him as anything other than Negan, and he'd walk you around with his hand on your hip, on the small of your back, or in your hand constantly. He wants to prove to you that you are the only one he thinks about. The only spouse that he wants.

He'd eventually ask you to "marry" him after he figured you trusted him enough to do so. If you say no, he gets it, but if you say yes he's ecstatic. He loves you, truly, and he's glad that you agreed to be with him til death do you part.

When you were far enough along that you couldn't hide the bump in your stomach any longer Negan would call a meeting to the people. Standing above them all with you by his side while everyone kneeled before the two of you. His hand resting on your stomach while he held you close.

"Some of you may already know, but I wanted to make it official. My Honey-bear and I are having a cub of our own here soon." He'd tell them, all while looking at you with so much love and adoration in his eyes that it made your heart soar. "There's about to be a little Negan running around. They're gonna be such a little shit too," He'd announce with such an enthusiastic voice, and you'd chuckle. "Well, let's hope they don't have your complete personality, then." He'd snicker at this, pulling you in for a kiss that he couldn't help but grin like a fool into. Everyone would cheer for you both, because truly. None of them had seen their leader so happy with anyone.

Negan would get more and more protective over you the closer you got to popping. He'd be by your side, making sure you had everything you need. He wouldn't let anyone get too close to you. He was already protective of you, but now was worse. You'd be off limits to everyone except for his previous wives that he knew you trusted. They'd help you when he was gone. They were happy for you, truly. Plus, you practically granted them freedom.

Negan would cry when the baby was born. He secretly hoped it was a little boy, and he'd so thrilled if it was a boy. He'd be bouncing off the walls and trying to convince you to let him name it Negan Jr. but really he'd be fine with about anything you came up with. He wasn't picky.

If it was a little girl though? Oh, that feels so much different for the man. He's holding the girl with practical heart eyes. Smiling as tears roll down his cheeks and he stares at her. "Hi, baby bear," he'd coo, and choke on a sob if they cooed back. He's never letting his little girl out of his sight. He's gonna be the most protective Papa Bear anyone knows. Everyone better pray that he they don't hurt her in anyway.

He'd spoil the shit out of his kid. Ordering his men to get them toys out on their runs. He'd let his kid get away with murder and just smile while cheering them on. They can do no wrong in his eyes.

With Negan being their dad. Expect the kid to be repeating some pretty interesting words as it gets older. "Suck my dick," "You wanna taste your own balls today?" "Fuck" "Shit" you name it. They've got quite the vocabulary as they get older and you're thankful school systems don't exist anymore.

Negan is the type of dad to do everything with his kid and even takes some time away from leading the saviors and puts Simon in charge for a while so he can spend it with you and the baby. He still doesn't let Simon get away with the stupid things he wants to do and still attends the meetings though to makes sure the system doesn't fail.

Everyone adores you and the baby. You two are the new celebrities in the factory, and everyone loves how happy you both make Negan. He swears up and down that he won't ever let anything happen to you or his baby.

"Personally, I think I deserve another baby... Maybe another five more." He'd tell you, and if you didn't say no, he'd be taking that as a yes. He loves kids and wants as many as you'll have for him. Plus, he loves the way you look when you're carrying his child. How your skin seems to glow, how round and soft you are. He wishes cameras still existed so he could have a photo or two of you.

He loves his little family, and even if you only had one kid for him, or if you decided to have one more or a few more. He's happy and content. He never thought he'd have the chance to be a Daddy and he is forever thankful that you not only gave him that opportunity. But also that it's you that he gets to share these moments with.

I am going through some major baby fever rn, so it’s the perfect time to write up some thoughts on how I think TBB would handle becoming actual dads 😊

this ended up being a LOT longer than I thought it would, so I’ve put everything under a cut this time haha. also, should go without saying, but these will discuss things like pregnancy, childbirth, and caring for infants, so be aware!

now let’s talk about those good ol’ paternal instincts (SO stands for significant other btw):

Hunter

could tell his SO was pregnant even before they did solely based off their change in behavior and hormones, but he had no idea that’s what it actually was

acts surprised when SO tells him (mostly because he can’t believe it’s real, it’s happening OMG), most definitely starts crying out of pure joy, and gives SO the longest and most loving hug ever

starts doing literally everything for his SO, even if they protest; he knows how strong his SO is and he’s positive they could handle everything on their own, but they will not, he will not allow it, that man is treating the bearer of his child like royalty ok

when SO starts feeling sick or weak, he is right there, he’ll take care of them and be so sweet about it; he tells SO it’s ok and holds them close, they’re not doing this alone 🥺

the day the baby’s heartbeat starts, he notices it; he wakes up one morning and picks up the tiniest little extra heartbeat next to him, and it takes everything in him to not wake up SO and tell them about it immediately

showers SO with compliments about how beautiful they are when they start showing; SO will not be able to get that man’s hands off their belly from that point forward, nope

seriously, this guy is already very touchy-feely, and he will pretty much constantly have his hands on SO throughout the pregnancy, even if it’s just holding their hand and reassuring them that everything will be ok 💙

he will never admit it, but he’s genuinely worried about being a father; he’s not sure if he’ll be good enough for them, but gosh darn it, he’s gonna try (if SO ever finds out, no amount of reassurance will change his mind unfortunately 😞)

while SO is having the baby, he is a rock and a beacon of calmness through the whole process; he’ll be comforting SO the entire time and reassuring them for the gazillionth time that they’re so strong, they can do it, it’s gonna be ok

when baby finally comes, he finally cracks and won’t stop crying; he probably cries more than his SO honestly

he holds his child so tenderly, unable to fully process that the baby is his, a testimony of the unbreakable bond between him and the love of his life; no force in the entire universe could tear that child away from him

he’s somehow even more overprotective of the baby than he was to his SO, especially while it’s still very small

he does everything that he can and more to help take care of the baby; SO might have to really coax him into sharing the responsibility honestly, and anything that SO can’t or doesn’t want to do, he is on it (this man was made to be a dad fr)

more than anything, he feels like the luckiest man in the galaxy and is unfathomably grateful for the chance to raise a child of his own; that child couldn’t ask for a more supportive and loving father 🥰

thought something might be off with his SO at first, but never questioned it; he knows SO will tell him if it’s important

genuinely bluescreens when SO tells him they’re pregnant - even more so than when SO first admitted that they were in love with him - and he honestly won’t believe it until he runs his own scans on SO for proof

he’s much more attentive of SO from that point forward; he’ll point out that it’s better for SO to not get overworked and offer to do things in their stead, sometimes not even giving them the option and saying “I’ll just do it myself” LOL

this man will do his research and be able to identify every single issue that SO is suffering from; he knows all the best remedies for nausea and pain and the like

he often likes to run his own scans on SO to monitor the baby, so when baby’s heartbeat first shows up, his face lights up like he’s just discovered a new groundbreaking formula

if SO starts feeling insecure, he will have a perfectly reasonable response to refute anything they might be worried about, with facts and knowledge that are totally based in science and reason, not his own opinion 😌

he is absolutely fascinated by all the changes that SO’s body goes through throughout the pregnancy, and he can’t stop verbally marveling at how amazing the process is (and how amazing SO is for going through it)

although he’s not one to give physical affection, if SO really needs it, he’ll do whatever they ask without question; physical touch is good for a developing child, after all!

he acts like he’s not worried at all, ever, but he’s always been pretty good at hiding insecurities, and he definitely has some doubts about whether or not he’s actually prepared to be a father yet and could use some encouragement 🥺

while SO is having the baby, he’s utilizing every technique he’s prepared for to support SO, and he’s fairly calm throughout the endeavor; he’ll definitely make some sort of comment about how hard SO is squeezing his hand though LOL

when baby comes out, it finally hits him how real it all is; he’s been monitoring this child from the moment he found out about it, but actually getting to see it in real life and hold it in his hands is almost too much to fathom

at first, he’s almost too afraid to even hold it and will require affirmation from his SO that his meticulous hands are more than capable of holding their child with care

he’s already done all his research about how to care for infants, but he quickly learns that the greatest teacher of all is reality; nevertheless, he helps take care of the baby in any way that he can

this man looks at his own child with so much love and adoration; this little person that he helped create, far more precious than any gadget or gizmo he’s ever made... truly his greatest creation 💙

Wrecker

he’s very empathetic, so he can quickly pick up that his SO isn’t acting right; he might even suggest that SO is sick or something at first

when SO tells him they’re pregnant, he practically explodes with happiness, picking up SO and swinging them around joyfully, then going off and telling literally everybody he comes across the good news

he’s always checking on SO and making sure they’re ok, and if they’re not (or he gets any sort of inkling they might not be), he’s already come to the rescue

his favorite thing to do, even before SO starts showing, is carry SO around everywhere; he’s somehow even more affectionate than usual (sooooo many hugs, kisses, and cuddles), and SO will have to basically demand any sort of alone time

any little update he gets about the baby is like Christmas morning for him, he’s so excited and happy and is constantly asking when it’ll finally be born, he wants to meet his kid so badly

there will be no talk of insecurities or worries around him; he’s nothing but positivity and warmth and support 🥰

he gets especially supportive when SO starts showing; he wants them to know how beautiful they are and will downright claim SO looks even sexier with a baby belly 😜

it doesn’t really hit him until that point though that oh... he has to take care of the baby too... and what if he’s not good enough? what if he crushes the baby or something? SO will have to reassure him; if the way he handles Omega is any indication, then he’s going to make a wonderful father

he is absolutely the kind of guy to talk to his SO’s belly, like he’s talking to the baby itself; he goes into great detail about all the fun things they’re gonna do together once the baby is out

while SO is having the baby, he does his best to be supportive, but he’s also kinda freaking out and might also need to do some breathing exercises of his own LOL

when baby comes out, the tears start flowing, and he becomes a complete blubbering mess, OMG the baby is finally here, he finally has his baby

he’s both excited to hold the baby and nervous about any potential harm he might accidentally do, but the moment that baby gets into his hands, he becomes the absolute softest man anyone has ever seen; the level of gentleness this man exudes around his child is unmatched

his SO might have to literally fight him in order to get the baby back, he is 100% attached to his little child from day one and will do literally anything for it (SO gets to feed the baby and only because Wrecker can’t do it himself LOL)

he’s always loved kids, but no other child in the world compares to his own; that child will have a father that loves and adores them, and they will definitely be spoiled silly by him as well 😊

knows something is up with his SO, but he can’t figure out what, and it’s kinda driving him crazy; if SO doesn’t tell him soon, he’s gonna force it outta them

he most definitely was not expecting the news that SO is pregnant, especially since the very idea of having kids has never once crossed his mind wtf

despite his aversion to the idea of being a father, he’s never dismissive of his SO; in fact, he often checks in and makes sure SO is doing ok cause he hates seeing them in any sort of distress

if SO starts feeling sick and doesn’t let him know, he will berate them and fuss at them before taking matters into his own hands (how dare that little gremlin inside SO make them feel so terrible 😤)

he doesn’t like getting updates on baby’s growth, but he’ll continue to support SO in any way they need, even if that means going along for check-ups; the first time baby’s heartbeat shows up, he nearly leaves the room, but stays for SO’s sake

if SO complains about what they’re going through at any point, he will 100% agree and make some snarky comment about the “little gremlin” torturing his poor beloved; however, if SO starts complaining about how they look, especially after their belly starts showing, he will genuinely get angry and go on a long-winded rant about how beautiful SO is (screw the gremlin, his beloved is a vision of the gods 😤)

physical affection has always been a weird thing with him, and he definitely tries to avoid all contact with SO’s belly if he can help it (any hugs are usually done from the side or behind, keep him away from the gremlin plz); despite this, he’ll never shy away from giving SO whatever they ask in terms of affection

at some point down the line, probably as SO’s belly really starts showing, he admits part of his aversion to having a kid is he thinks there’s no way he’d ever make a good father; he’s done so many terrible things in the past, and he doesn’t know the first thing about kids either; that little gremlin would be better off with literally anybody else than him 💔

while SO is having the baby, he’s going through a wave of emotions; he wants to continue supporting SO as much as possible, but man is it hard seeing them suffer like this, why did that stupid little gremlin have to hurt his beloved so much 😫

it takes him a while to even want to hold the little thing, but once that baby gets in his arms, he completely melts; every single wall he’s built up crumbles from the weight of the tiny person in his hands 🥺

picks up pretty quick on any changes in his SO’s behavior, but he won’t press them about it unless things start getting really bad

much like Hunter, he also become super overprotective and doesn’t let his SO do hardly anything ever; he doesn’t want anything happening to his baby 🥺

he gets surprisingly emotional the first time he hears baby’s heartbeat; he still can’t believe he actually was able to help make a whole new living being that’s growing inside the love of his life

he also totally believes in the idea of playing music to stimulate the growing baby and will often turn on the radio while cuddling with SO and rubbing their belly

as hard as it was for him to accept the mere fact that somebody loved him, it’s equally hard even fathoming that he could be a good father, or that he even deserves something as wonderful as his own child; for as often as SO has to remind him that yes, they do love him, they also will need to reassure him that he will definitely be a good father to their child

while SO is having the baby, he’s as supportive as ever and equally encouraging; anything SO needs, they’ll get it, along with plenty of reminders of their breathing exercises

when baby comes, he can not stop smiling; there’s plenty of happy tears and much affection given to SO for doing such a good job

he worries about holding the baby due to only having one good arm, but SO trusts him, and he manages without issue, just like he always does

there’s not a single thing he won’t do to take care of the baby; anything SO asks, he’ll do it; sometimes it’s legit up for question who the mom actually is between the two LOL

despite all his disbeliefs, he realizes that ultimately, it doesn’t matter what he thinks he does or doesn’t deserve; he has a child now, and he’s going to do everything in his power to take care of them and shower them with unconditional love 🥰

Modern College Student/BF Armin Arlert Headcanons

(rewatching aot and damn I forgot how much I love armin.  someone pls put me onto some good armin fan fiction?  this boy doesn’t get anough attention honestly, lemme know if you guys want me to do anyone else, im thinking eren next?)

Pre law student

I think in the modern world, Armin would only look at his love for the ocean and nature as hobbies. ��When it comes to investing in his education and making money to support himself and his family, he’d go into a major he’s good at just to be safe.  And that’s persuasive arguments, crazy attention to detail and maybe a little manipulation for the greater good so yeah…lawyer it is 🙂

Currently focusing on political science for his BA before law school

Shares a small apartment with Eren and Mikasa cuz they all looked at dorm life and were collectively like “yea, fuck that”

Armin and Mikasa are up first every morning, and they usually share a lil breakfast together before deciding which one should dare try to drag Eren out of bed

Has the best color-coded notes, the type of student to type into the chats links to resources he found helpful when doing the homework, pulls thru with the quizlet right before quizzes

Heavy on that study beats, listens to it even when not studying

Playing at Eddie's: Eddie X Little! Reader

Summary: This is part of my Discovery fic world! Regressing at Eddie’s trailer for the first time.

A/N: this feels a little rushed but I liked it! :)) Working on a Steve rogers fic rn.

To say Eddie was stressed was an understatement. How could he not be? His baby was going to be there in less than an hour and his trailer was still a mess, all of his… special apparel and other adult stuff was moved to being hidden in his closet. 

Eddie pulled out all of the blankets, pillows, and other soft things that his baby would adore. Luckily that left more room in his closet for him to throw the trash and dirty clothing that littered his floor into it. With some shoving and cramming, the floor of his room was visible, and so were the crumbs that were spread all over. He needed to vacuum, do they have a vacuum? Where would it be? Luckily it was in the first place he checked, in what was referred to as the broom closet. 

‘Maybe I should clean more often…’ was all that ran through his mind, as he frantically vacuumed his room. Luckily right as he put the vacuum away the doorbell rang. Opening the door Robin and (Y/N) stood in front and Steve stood a little farther back. 

“Hi!” (Y/N) said, as they threw themself into a hug (making Eddie catch them). 

“Hi Baby, did Harrington drive carefully with you in the car?” Eddie said while stroking their head and kissing their forehead. A playful glare pointed at Steve before he laughed.

“Yes!” They said not picking up on the playful annoyance, “We went to get stuff for Steve and Robin’s booth at the fair and I got to help!” 

“Oh really?” Eddie kissed their head again and asked quietly, “Were you a good helper?”

“Mhmmmm!” They said, starting to peer into his house.

“Hope they didn’t work you two too hard,” Eddie chuckled, before eying (Y/N) again waiting for them to say thank you and goodbye. Having to squeeze their hand and raise an eyebrow to get them to understand.

“Oh! Thank you for inviting me and driving me! I had fun!” They released Eddies, moving to hug Steve and Robin.

“It’s no problem, do you want to join us again to work on it?” Robin asked, being gentle towards the obviously teetering baby.

“I’d like that, can Eddie come too?” They asked while moving to hug Steve.

“Of course,” Robin said smiling at the question. “Now, you too go have fun, don’t forget to show him your present!”

“Okay! Thank you! Bye-Bye!” They said walking back to the trailer, Eddie and them waving as their friends got in the car to drive away.

“Come in, can’t have you catching a cold out here!” Eddie exclaims overdramatically. 

“Eddie, what are we gonna do today?” (Y/N) asked, wandering around the living area. Staring at 

“We can play, and watch movies! Sadly, it’s gonna rain soon lovie, so all our plans were ruined.” Eddie said frowning at them.

Their eyes widen, “It’s okay! We can spend all day cuddling, Dada!”

“That’s right, and I pulled all my old toys out for you,” Eddie said, smiling at them. 

“Really? We play?” They stare up blinking at them.

“Yes baby,” Eddie said, opening the door to his bedroom, “Remember, if you get sleepy, hungry, or even having to go potty, you gotta say something so I know.”

“Okie dada,” They said plopping onto the floor and looking into the box of toys. There were he-man toys, Cabbage Patch kids, and Care Bears. “Watch the Care bears tonight?”

“Yes baby, and we can have anything you’d like to eat!” Eddie said before whispering to himself, “If we can order it for takeout…”

“Dada, we pway now?” Eddie smiled and nodded, sitting behind them. Pulling them onto his lap, picking up a toy to play with. “Ou da knight and sab me? (You are the knight and save me?)”

“Of course, dada will always save his little baby!” Eddie exclaims, bouncing them in his lap and kissing their cheek. 

With a squeal, (Y/N) began acting out a story. The story was partially based on a DND campaign he wrote a few months back, however, it was babified. Eddie was playing a dangerous dragon that steals the baby away from their kingdom. He also was playing a knight in dented armor, who would save their baby back. 

They played for hours until the baby got all fidgety, and started squirming. Eddie was quick to notice this, “Baby, do you have to go potty?”

“Wanna pway mowe!” They said, upset.

“You can play again after you go potty!” Eddie said, trying to come them down. They only pouted in response. “Baby, do you want me to help you, or do you want to go by yourself?”

“By myself, pease, ‘m big giwl” (Y/N) said, asking to be carried into the bathroom. 

Once they were placed in the restroom, Eddie asked, “Do you need help with the button on your pants?”

(Y/N) nodded, soon the button was undone and Eddie left the bathroom. Eddie noticed the stains on his bed as he left the bathroom. Did they notice it when they came in? How could he forget to clean his bed? 

Quickly, Eddie decided to take the blankets from the living room and drape a few on the bed to cover the stains. For once in his life, Eddie prayed to God for a miracle and for (Y/N) to not see the stains. They came out shortly after Eddie’s mad rush.

“Dada, can we watch Care Bears now?” They said, pants unbuttoned.

“How about we get you changed and then we can watch it?” Eddie said, only to be met with a whine, “Don’t you wanna be all comfy in daddy’s cloths?”

“Pease,”  They said, “Wan’ dada’s.”

“Can I change you?” Eddie asked, receiving a nod, “Okay, hands up,” Their shirt was pulled off, and then their pants. Their top was quickly replaced by his (then your bra was removed if you wear one), then he traded their underwear for a pair of his sweatpants.

“Danks dada!” They said, jumping to be carried by him, “Cuddle time?”

“Yes, my little elf,” Eddie said, “And movie! AND some yummy dinner!”

The night continued, being filled with a delivery meal. (Y/N) was forced to eat at least some of their veggies before dessert. Luckily, it was easy to convince them to while they watched their favorite movie.

As for Matt, you’d admittedly been doing your best to avoid him. He still had no idea about the pregnancy, and truthfully you weren’t quite ready to tell him. Over the past couple of weeks he had been calling you and leaving the occasional voicemail, but you’d ignored him every single time.

I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT BABY GIRL DESERVES THIS MOMENT OF PEACE. EVEN FOR A LIL BIT. GO AHEAD. I SUPPORT YOU IGNORING HIM. MAKE HIM SWEAT A BIT

Chewing another bite of your burger, you were barely focused on the conversation occurring at the table amongst your friends. You had been starving ever since the four of you had met at the restaurant, the smell of grilled food causing you to salivate the moment you’d stepped through the doors. So once the waiter had placed your burger on the table in front of you–the one thing you’d been craving nonstop all day–you’d tuned everything else around you out. Marci had shot you a curious look when you'd first dug into your food, but you’d chosen to ignore that, too.

Initially you’d set up this lunch date with your friends so that you could break the news to Foggy and Marci that you were pregnant. For the past two weeks now Karen had helped you keep your secret, but now that you were eight weeks along and had seen that everything was progressing well at your first ultrasound, you thought it was time to clue the pair of them into things, too. You’d been appreciative of Karen’s support lately, but truthfully being even less alone in everything right now sounded even more comforting and appealing.

As for Matt, you’d admittedly been doing your best to avoid him. He still had no idea about the pregnancy, and truthfully you weren’t quite ready to tell him. Over the past couple of weeks he had been calling you and leaving the occasional voicemail, but you’d ignored him every single time. And since you hadn’t had the heart to hear his voice or whatever it was he had to say for himself, you currently had twelve unopened voicemails from him. 

You knew you needed to tell Matt the news. Every day you told yourself that, and every day it was a constant battle with yourself between ripping the bandaid off and showing up at his apartment to tell him or not. But then you always became emotional at the thought of just seeing Matt again, and you ultimately always came to the conclusion that you just weren’t quite ready to face him, not with this. You also knew that it wasn’t the sort of news you thought you should tell him in a phone call, either. So for now, Matt had no idea you were pregnant with his child. 

“Whoa, slow down there,” Foggy teased from across the table. “Your burger is not going to get up and run away from you if you set it down to breathe for a moment.”

It took a second for you to realize that he was even talking to you, having been too focused on eating your food. Your gaze slowly slid up from your plate, noticing three sets of eyes on you. Thankfully Karen’s expression was more amused and knowing than confused and judging like Foggy and Marci’s across from you. Swallowing down your bite of burger, you lowered it back down towards your plate, sitting up straighter in the booth. You sent the pair of them across from you a sheepish smile, watching as Marci’s hand rose up towards her mouth. 

"You've uh…got some ketchup," she said, gesturing beside her lip. “Right here.”

Reaching over, you grabbed your napkin and dabbed at the glob of ketchup on your face. You could still feel all three sets of eyes on you as you wiped off the ketchup, and one look up from your plate confirmed your suspicions. Eyes darting over towards Karen beside you, you saw her send you a slight nod and a soft, encouraging smile. With a sigh you wiped your hands off on your napkin next, figuring now was as good a time as any during this lunch to break the news to Foggy and Marci. And at least the irritating hunger-nausea that seemed to accompany early pregnancy was temporarily abated with how fast you’d eaten half of your burger.

“Sorry,” you muttered. 

Foggy waved a dismissive hand, shrugging his shoulders as he sent you a smile. “Not a big deal, though I thought you had asked us here because you wanted to talk to us about something.”

“There uh, there actually was a reason,” you agreed, nodding slowly.

Your eyes slid back and forth between Foggy and Marci, your fingers fidgeting nervously with the napkin still in your hands. The pair of them curiously focused on you from across the table, lowering their utensils and giving you their full attention. Biting the inside of your cheek, you contemplated how you were supposed to tell them something so big. How did you lead up to telling someone that you're pregnant? So when you inevitably couldn’t think of anything to gradually broach the topic with, you opted for just spitting it right out.

“I’m pregnant,” you announced. “Just over eight weeks now.”

Marci’s eyes instantly doubled in size at the news, her lips parting in surprise as she gaped at you. Foggy’s jaw literally dropped, his entire body going rigid in the booth. From beside you, you felt Karen place a gentle hand on your shoulder, giving it a brief comforting squeeze.

“Holy shit,” Foggy breathed out.

You shot him another sheepish smile, still fidgeting with the napkin. “Yeah,” you muttered, “that’s about what I said initially, too.”

“So–so is it…Matt’s?” Marci asked slowly, her brows drawing together.

“Yes,” you answered.

“Whoa, whoa, wait a minute,” Foggy said, frantically waving his hands in front of himself. “You’re pregnant? Like right now? With Matt’s baby?”

“Yes,” you repeated.

Marci began to run a hand through her blonde hair, her lips pursing together as that furrow between her brows grew while she tried to process the information. Foggy was still sitting in the booth beside her and staring at you in utter disbelief. After a minute of that incredulous expression on his face, you quirked a brow at him, no longer able to stand the silence that had fallen over the table.

“What?” you asked him.

“It’s just–” he began, grimacing before shaking his head. “Matt doesn’t know, does he? That you’re pregnant? Because you two aren’t together but you’re carrying his child. And I don’t think he’d be acting the way he is if he knew.”

“Yeah, well,” you began bitterly, picking up your glass of water and bringing it to your lips for a drink, “that’s Matt’s fault.”

“So you’re just not going to tell him?” Foggy asked in shock, his brows shooting up onto his forehead. “You can’t possibly do that to him. You wouldn’t .”

“I am going to tell him,” you said, setting your glass back onto the table. “I tried to tell him that I was pregnant the night we broke up. But he wouldn’t stay to talk to me. Said he needed to go deal with the Russians. Again . He’s the one who told me to leave that night. Told me I could tell him whatever it was I needed to when he got back or that I could go." You winced, eyes dropping down towards your half-finished burger. “He left me alone that night–left us alone. So forgive me for not rushing to tell him the news a second time,” you snapped. “Because I don’t think I should have come last that night on his list of priorities, so right now he's not exactly at the top of mine.” 

“If he knew the truth there’s no way Matt would’ve walked out on you like that,” Foggy told you earnestly. “There’s no way. He’d have stayed, I promise you that.”

Your eyes flew up from the table, landing back on Foggy across from you. There was an almost pleading look on his face as he sat there across from you. But as you opened your mouth to respond, you could feel that familiar rush of anger unfurling inside of you as you remembered that night.

“I practically begged him to stay and talk to me, Fog,” you growled, one arm possessively wrapping around your abdomen. “I was crying and begging him to stay and he left . That’s on Matt, not me.”

“I absolutely agree with you on that,” Foggy replied quickly, nodding his head. “He briefly told me what happened that night and I agree that he fucked up. Big time. But knowing what I do now? I know Matt needs to know the truth. He needs to make things right–”

“There’s no way Matt could make any of this right, Fog,” you cut him off. “And even if there somehow was, do you really think Matt would want to raise a child? With what he does? How obsessive he gets over things? The way he doesn’t even take care of himself?” You shook your head quickly, one arm still possessively wrapped around your belly. “No, that man couldn’t possibly care about being a father. All he cares about is Daredevil and Hell’s Kitchen. He can have a relationship with his child, I won’t stop that, but I’m the one who’ll ultimately be raising this baby.”

“You don’t know that,” Foggy countered, shaking his head as he leaned across the table towards you with that pleading expression only growing more desperate on his face. “You don’t know Matt wouldn’t want to be a father.”

“Actually, Fog,” Marci said, cutting him off, “I think I’m with her on this. From the things I’ve heard about Matt’s hobby from you and Karen, I was honestly shocked he had managed to successfully keep a relationship for as long as he has. But being a father? That’s an even bigger responsibility. I mean, he already has difficulty prioritizing the firm with you and Karen half the time. You really think a baby would be any different?”

“Yes!” Foggy exclaimed, his eyes darting between you and Marci. “Matt has his flaws, sure, I know that. I do,” he continued fervently. “But I know Matt. He wouldn’t walk away from his own child. He wouldn’t .” 

"I'm with Fog on this," Karen said, catching everyone's attention. "I think Matt wouldn't be acting this way if he knew."

Marci’s eyes narrowed at Karen, her head slowly tilting to the side. "You already knew she was pregnant, didn't you?" she asked. "Because you don't seem very surprised right now."

"She showed up at my place shortly after the breakup and I told her," you explained. "I just didn't want to be alone in all of this. I had been waiting until after my ultrasound to break the news to you and Foggy next. I just–just wanted you all to know so I wasn't entirely alone."

Marci’s hand slid across the table towards yours, grabbing onto it. She sent you a warm smile that swiftly quieted the anger you felt towards Matt that had been burning inside of you for weeks now.

"You're not alone in this," she assured you, squeezing your hand. "You've always got us."

"Yeah," Foggy agreed, his face softening when you glanced at him beside her. "Whatever happens with Matt in all of this, you know we're always here for you. Through anything."

Tears began to fill your eyes, your lips trembling at the show of support. Truly you were grateful that everything with Matt had led you to at least meeting all three of them.

"Thanks guys," you whispered. "You don't know what that means to me."

Shutting your apartment door behind yourself, you turned and leaned your back up against it, slipping your aching feet out of your shoes with a deep groan. Head rolling back against the door as you stretched your toes, your eyes took in the sight of your empty apartment. Everything was neat and tidy except for the couch in your living room, which was often where you found yourself cocooned in a soft blanket whenever you were home lately, binging your shows and trying to ignore the hollow, lingering pain in your chest from your persistent heartache. 

The pillows on your couch were a mess, a couple of them stacked together and resting against an armrest that you'd long since claimed as your usual spot. The extra height of them stacked helped with your nasal congestion–another unfortunate perk of pregnancy you’d recently come to learn about. Your plush blanket was still strewn across the cushions looking exactly the same as when you'd crawled out from underneath it earlier to get ready for your lunch date with your friends. Truthfully your couch still looked about as inviting as anything could to you lately.

With a sigh, your right hand absently landed on your belly. Any other normal Sunday in the past you'd have had plans with Matt right now. Grabbing groceries together or maybe getting coffee. Planning out dinner or listening to audiobooks on the couch. Having mind-blowing sex in the bedroom that left you blissed out and pleasantly exhausted afterwards, the pair of you remaining naked in bed just talking and losing track of time for half the day.

But not today. 

Though admittedly it had been awhile since Matt had been able to give you his undivided attention on a weekend. Usually he had been trying to catch up on work or sleep before he went back out again as Daredevil at night. But that didn't stop the sting of his absence that you’d felt over the past few weeks since the breakup.

Eyes dropping down to your abdomen, a faint smile curled your lips upwards. You weren't truly alone though. Not fully. And at least Foggy and Marci knew the truth about your pregnancy now and were completely supportive of you. That's what mattered at the moment. 

"Alright my little devil," you whispered to your small bump affectionately, "what's on the agenda for tonight?"

Lifting the hem of your shirt up with your other hand, you stretched out the spandex band of your maternity pants with a frown. They had become far more comfortable than your actual jeans this past week, especially once those had been near impossible for you to actually button closed. You’d recently bought a few basic maternity items, but the maternity jeans made you feel considerably less attractive with that stretchy band reaching up to almost the bottom of your bra. 

"Should I get into something significantly more comfortable than these maternity pants?" you asked your bump. "Maybe those cozy, stretchy leggings I just bought? Then you and I could curl up and take a nap on the couch before figuring out dinner?"

Pushing off of the door, you bent down with another groan as you picked up your shoes and placed them in the nearby closet. Afterwards, you shuffled your tired feet through your living room and straight towards your bathroom just through the short hallway.

"But first I'm going to pee for the millionth time today," you muttered under your breath. "Something I feel like I'm doing all the time now."

You used the bathroom quickly before heading to your room, taking your time to switch your clothes into something more comfortable. It wasn’t like you were planning to go out anywhere for the rest of your Sunday night. It didn’t matter that you were wearing a massive oversized shirt and a pair of maternity leggings that you’d rolled the waistband down to just below your bump. No one was going to see you, anyway.

“Alright,” you murmured as you left your bedroom, shuffling your way back down the hallway towards your living room. “Let’s nap and figure out dinner afterwards. Seems like you’re feeling pasta tonight, so I guess that’s the plan.”

Settling onto the couch, you pulled your feet up onto the cushions and underneath your blanket before you laid down. Almost instantly you could feel your sinuses closing up and you tried to ignore your irritation at it. At least it wasn’t the nausea, because that admittedly had been the worst part of everything so far. Getting comfortable on the couch, you tugged the blanket up to your chin, your eyes steadily closing as your exhaustion began to overtake you.

“You and I will be just fine on our own,” you whispered drowsily, patting your bump. “I’ll find a way to make this work. One way or another, we'll both be okay.”

Matt leaned forward, resting his elbows on his desk as he buried his face in his hands. He was tired and annoyed this morning, irritated that his Sunday out hadn’t been too eventful last night. Ever since he’d finished dealing with the Russians, having gotten Petrov into police custody with the help of Mahoney, Hell’s Kitchen had been oddly quiet on the organized crime front. Which was poor timing considering the fact that Matt hadn’t wanted to stay in his apartment where he’d just be reminded how alone he was every night. 

It didn’t help that he’d been sleeping horribly, too. He wasn’t out as late as he had been for the past few weeks, meaning he had the time to sleep, but he clearly lacked the ability lately. His mind just wouldn’t seem to quiet, becoming almost louder than the sounds of the city around him when he tried to. Which was also quite irritating. 

With an annoyed huff, he slid his hands down his face, straightening back up in his chair. He picked up his glasses from his desk and placed them back onto his face. He was tired but he still had work to do. There was a frustrating case he’d been helping Foggy with lately and he figured he could distract himself with that today. He didn’t want to think about anything else.

Though Matt had barely gotten far focusing on the case before he heard Foggy entering the office, closing the door a bit harsher than usual behind himself. Even Karen startled in her office at the unexpected rough slam of the door. Matt’s brows furrowed behind his glasses immediately afterwards when he heard Foggy make his way straight to his office instead of his own. 

Confused, Matt’s head darted up just as Foggy threw his door open. He could practically feel the anger radiating off of Foggy as he stepped into the room, his breathing heavy and his heart beating a little faster than usual. Matt’s eyes narrowed curiously behind his lenses at the tension in Foggy’s body and the increase in his blood pressure.

“Are you fucking serious, Matt?” Foggy snapped.

Matt's brows knitted further together, even more confused at Foggy's behavior this morning. He hadn't seen Foggy all weekend, what could he have done to upset him?

“About what exactly?” he asked carefully.

Foggy stormed further into the room, roughly slamming both of his hands flat on Matt’s desk as he leaned forward. Matt’s head tilted curiously to the side, noticing the elevation in Foggy’s heart rate further increasing. Apparently his answer hadn’t been the right one.

“You said you’d talk to her, Matt!” Foggy yelled. “You told me you were going to apologize and make things up to her! You told me that!”

Of course this was about you.

“Fog, I’ve been trying to reach out to her,” he replied calmly, trying to soothe his friend’s anger. “I’ve called her countless times over the past couple of weeks. I’ve left her multiple messages. She keeps ignoring me and not answering my calls. Clearly she doesn’t want to hear what I have to say. There’s nothing I can do about that.”

Foggy scoffed loudly, angrily shaking his head. “There’s nothing you can do about that?” he shot back sarcastically. “Are you serious? Dammit, Matt!”

Matt heard the way Foggy’s hand swiftly rose from the desk, swinging through the air towards himself. Matt’s hand twitched from its place on the desk out of instinct, ready to dart out and grab Foggy’s wrist, but he was stunned when his friend actually landed a hit upside his head. 

“What the hell, Fog?” Matt snapped, scooting back in his desk chair as he ran a hand over the sore spot on his temple. “What’d you hit me for?”

“Honestly, I–I’m surprised you even let me do that,” Foggy said, his anger briefly replaced by surprise. “Figured you would’ve stopped me before I could.”

“Well I didn’t think you were actually going to hit me!” Matt shot back. “Why the hell did you hit me?”

“Because I’m pissed at you, Matt!” Foggy roared, anger quickly returning. “And I’m disappointed in you! You damn well know you could show up at her apartment if she’s not answering your calls. You’re just making excuses.”

“Show up and do what, Fog?” Matt retorted. “Force her to talk to me when she clearly wants nothing to do with me? Hurt both of us even more by forcing that interaction? It’s probably better if she goes on hating me anyway. She’ll move on faster, at least.”

Foggy’s hand flew to the bridge of his nose, pinching it between his fingers. Matt heard the sharp hiss of his frustration between his gritted teeth. Seeing how upset Foggy was had Matt quickly beginning to question just why he was so worked up over this situation. It was between you and him, after all. Why did Foggy want you to apologize and talk this badly?

“Just promise me you’ll go over there and physically talk to her, okay?” Foggy said, his anger barely restrained. “That you’ll offer her a proper apology and talk to her?”

Matt shifted in his seat, his eyes once again narrowing behind his lenses. “Why is this so important to you?” he asked carefully. “It’s been a few weeks now, why are you still so adamant that we talk?”

“Because,” Foggy said, his fingers releasing his nose as his hand lowered to his side, “I know how important it is for the both of you. And I also know how stubborn and idiotic you can be. Someone needs to kick you in the ass before you make a big mistake an even bigger one. So just promise me you’ll talk to her.”

Matt’s tongue slipped out between his lips, nervously wetting them. After a moment he nodded, hearing the way Foggy’s heart rate started to gradually decrease back to its normal pace.

“Yeah, alright,” he assured his friend. “I’ll talk to her.”

“And I mean soon, Matt,” Foggy pressed. “Not in another few weeks.”

“Okay,” he agreed, nodding again. “Okay, I’ll go talk to her. I promise.”
