Warnings: some minor Spoilers of Dead Plate, Homophobia/Biphobia, French in 1960's wasn't a safe place for Queer people. Fluff!

Rody Lamoree

• Rody definitely had a crisis as soon as he met his partner (due to his massive Biphobia).

• What's more, it's very likely that at first he met his boyfriend precisely believing he was a woman (at one of his many previous jobs) and when they started talking more seriously, reader broke the news to him that, surprise! He was also a man.

• Rody. Exe has stopped working. It overheated SO much. It looked like a tomato.

• Rody has only dated girls his whole life, he's only been INTERESTED in girls. Why does he like this guy out of the blue?! Maybe because he thought it was a woman?! YES THAT! (delusional at its finest)

• And honestly it took a LOT of time for Rody to accept that he was just as interested in the reader when he was dressed as a woman as when he was a man.

• Although of course, he eventually fell for his charms ;)

• Obviously all displays of affection are behind closed doors, not only because of the homophobia of the times, but also because Rody himself is not used to dating a man.

• However, it doesn't mean it's any less loving! In his way.

• We all know that Rody is very devoted, almost to a worrying degree, and honestly if we talk about a scenario where he overcomes his Biphobia, it is equally intense with the reader as with Manon.

• Very physically affectionate, trying to get extra money from work so he can get his partner something nice, etc.

• I feel like Rody sees the idea of going out in public with the reader in his women's clothing as a very good idea! (partly because he doesn't think much about the future)

• He's pretty good at hiding the fact that he's nervous when the two of you are out, not nervous about being affectionate in public! In fact, he is very happy about that, it makes him happy to finally do “normal couple” things with the reader without being lynched.

• Being able to go to the movies, take a walk in the park, eat something in a public place (receive comments that they are a cute couple xd), etc.

• What worries him, when he thinks about it, is that someone will recognize the reader from somewhere and they will realize that he is a man.

• also, even if people don't realize that their partner is a man, we're talking about FRANCE, it's not very safe to be a woman.

• Fortunately, Rody's physique is not just for decoration, so he is more than willing to break the face of anyone who tries to touch or make his boyfriend uncomfortable- I MEAN GIRLFRIEND!

• In general, a total sweetheart. protect him.

Vincent Charbonneau

• Vince, on the other hand, is a complete opposite case.

• No crisis, no second thought, there was no conflict in his head with messing with a man (the man is gay for God's sake), but the closeness, whohever, was definitely something he wasn't expecting.

• I like to imagine that for the reader to have a GENUINE relationship with Vincent it would have to be someone who, although he sees often, is not related to work (because otherwise it would not be different from his “friends” for convenience), perhaps someone with the one who drinks often (even though this guy hates liquor he seems to drink a lot...)

• And Vincent probably didn't even know about the whole dressing as a woman thing until one day he was waiting for the reader and a woman greeted him in his place.

• Vincent, being Vincent, didn't even pay attention to her, that is until the “woman” slapped him and scolded him in a thick voice saying, “THAT'S WHAT YOU GREET A LADY, JACKASS?! RUDE!”

• It took him a moment to process what had happened. He was angry, but also fucking confused.

• After the initial stage, reader and Vince knew how to turn the tables and make it work, including taking advantage of both the normal reader and the female reader.

• Vincent is much more reserved with physical affection than Rody, obviously, but he can allow himself other types of displays of affection. He´s a big one on gift giving and compliments, and of course, food.

• His group of “friends” knows that he messes with both men and women, so he doesn't care much if they see him with his partner. Although he definitely prefers the female alter ego for the public.

• Vincent is obviously the one who cooks of the two, especially if the reader burns water. And he will get quite upset if he sees him eating junk food.

• I was talking about this with my sister, I think the reader could take advantage of both his female and male alter ego to know certain things like what the critics are going to say, or what people think of Vincent (it also applies to certain employees...) .

• It's almost like a symbiotic relationship, reader gets good things and Vincent gets the equivalent of the world's best insider (they're married).

• They're wary of the straight couple façade, but they definitely mock mercilessly when they get home to the double standards. There are those who HATE the reader, but are much friendlier and gentler towards him when they think he is a woman and it is so fun to watch.

• Although of course, it also upsets Vincent's jealousy a little (a lot), but nothing that a good pair of cuddles won't fix.

• Conclusion, the nightmare of employees and gossipers, they scare me.

Manon Vacher

• OMG, how Manon found out about her boyfriend's fixation on drag has a whole story and drama involved.

• Manon obviously started dating and only knew the average reader version, she wasn't really aware of his interests in drag.

• Reader didn't want to tell her because he knew that 1- she is straight and 2- she had already gotten out of a relationship and he didn't want to cause her even more stress with his things. Lector was always able to keep hidden this side of How Hard Can It Be?

• He was more afraid of Manon rejecting him than of her finding out, honestly.

• However, the more they went out, the more she began to have some suspicions. Although honestly they were pointing to another, less pleasant type of lie.

• Lipstick on clothes, perfume that wasn't hers, occasionally she found clothes that were clearly not hers.

• In conclusion, she thought the reader was cheating on her.

• So one day, after having enough “evidence” of said “infidelity,” Manon went to look for him at his apartment.

• Of course, without knocking on the door or notifying in advance that she was coming.

• So when Manon walked in, reader was in the middle of putting on makeup for an outing. Already dressed and about to put on his wig.

• Let's say they had a long talk throughout that day and the night that followed...

• Fortunately, Manon is not ignorant. She knows that just because the reader dresses like a woman doesn't mean they want to be one. He just wants to feel pretty and she totally supports it!

• Also, this way they can enjoy two different sides of the relationship.

• Imagine Manon dating the reader in women's clothing, both of them parading around✨SLAYING✨

• And of course, enjoying all the gossip that comes with knowing both sides of the coin.

• Manon absolutely LOVES doing reader makeup! Above all, with colors like red and blue, something very extravagant.

•they spend TONS of quality time.

•she has tried to cook for him, he eats all of it like a champ.

• They also get to do their nails on some occasions (they learned the hard way not to do combined acrylics so as not to raise suspicion. Plus they are uncomfortable to work with).

• I live for feral Manon, so if someone tries to lay a hand on her boyfriend they will have to deal WITH HER WITH A CLEAN HAND. This goes in two ways, both for homophobes and for nosy people. Manon will make them feel the same horror that wedding guests do when they throw the Bouquet and SHE catches it.

• Manon is by far the most mature and confident of the three honestly.

• Even if she didn't understand all this drag very well at first, what she did understand was how happy it made her to see her boyfriend so happy!

• Of course, the reader is also happy as a man, but the female alter ego is more than just that, it is a means to express oneself. To say things that, as a man, he wouldn't say.

• As long as the reader is happy, so is she.

since i’ve watched youtubers play dead plate, it’s been on constantly my mind 😻 i’ve literally searched up gacha reactions, fanfics, edits, etc, just because i’m starting to obsess over the game. not to mention how little attraction it’s gained?! where is the fan art, the fanfics, the loveeee?!? 😭 anywho! just a little blurb i keep imagining in my head!

this takes place after ending 3 so please, keep in mind that this will contain spoilers for the third ending! you’ve been warned!

(DEAD PLATE X READER)

With his left hand, Rody puts pressure on where his left ear had been before Vincent had ripped it off and eaten it. He pants softly, unable to tear his gaze away from the flames that engulf the bistro.

Rody is able to break contact when he sees a shoe in the corner of his right eye. Rody’s body tenses as he looks over at the shoe, allowing his gaze to slowly move up to take in the owner of the shoe. Black leather shoes that shine bright from the fire’s light, black slacks and a white long sleeve button up underneath a black vest adorned with a black tie. Rody’s eyes widen at the face.

The persons expression is full of worry, the figure holds their hands out as if wanting to comfort Rody but feeling as if they shouldn’t overstep boundaries in such a clearly traumatic time. the figure’s mouth opens, mouthing some illegible words. Rody hasn’t realized that all this time his ears had been ringing, his brain already trying to force this moment into the back of his head.

Rody’s eyes fill up with tears and he sniffles. The ringing slowly fades out as the voice slowly registers. “Rody! Hey, are you alright? Hey, deep breathes, you don’t have to tell me what happened, let’s- here, can i lead you to my car…?” Rody feels tears flow down his cheek and drip off his chin and Rody feels like he’s breaking as he wetly smiles. “…(M/n)…”

The man, finally known as (M/n), looks relieved as Rody seems to snap out of his previous delirious state. “Rody… Hey… Let’s step away and go to my car, yeah?” Rody nods but takes one step and falls forward. (M/n) panics, stepping a few paces forwards to catch Rody.

Rody’s eyes close and he whines, letting his tears fall and openly sob as he mourns. Mourning over the truth he has learned, that his girlfriend was killed and cooked up by his boss, being served to Rody though, due to his inability to cook, he had not eaten the dish, which Rody is now thankful for. Rody finds himself surprisingly mourning over Vincent too, just wishing to make some money to whoo Manon and wanting to try to become closer to Vince, maybe even become friends. It’s too late, what’s done is done.

(M/n) sighs softly, his expression softening as he holds Rody close. He allows Rody to get all of his feelings out, hoping his friend will be able to feel better. “Rody… I don’t know what happened and you don’t need to tell me until you’re ready, but… Please … I want you to know that i’ll be here with you, for you… All the way...”

Rody’s body continues to heave from the force of his sobs but ultimately seems to be calming down. Rody is reduced to sniffles and he clears his throat to speak. “All the way…? You promise…?” (M/n) hums, rubbing Rody’s back soothingly. “All the way. I promise.”

Rody nods, feeling content before pulling away with a sheepish look, as his stomach growl. He scratches the back of his neck nervously but (M/n) breaks into laughter, causing Rody to follow suit. “(M/n)… Could we get something to eat…?” (M/n) nods, able to pull both of them up and lead Rody to his car. “Of course, my treat.”
