Basil's POV

Hey, it's me, Basil, again! Had the honor of writing for the blog yet again. Well, a new horse have arrived, and I have again been chosen to ride and train her! She has such a strong tölt, proudly showing it off at the hack I went on with her all alone. She is brave and courageous, never backing down from a challenge.

Not even riding out in away from the stables she arrived at earlier this morning with a completely new rider and no other horses to keep her company. If I was Soffía and the boss, which I ain't, I would say that this proud mare is a keeper!

Then I was asked by Roland, whom I always joke with while he pretends it isn't funny, if I wanted to go on a hack with him and the Mangalarga Marchador. I of course said yes, and we headed out after tacking and blanketing the horses, as - and let me tell you - the Marchadors aren't exactly fond of the very cold Norway weather. Actually the breed comes from a much warmer sky with fields full of flowers all year round.

But now they are here in Norway, freezing their asses off, if we don't tack them up with blankets. They even wear blankets in the pasture, as we don't want them to be cold. It's very different from having the Icelandics and Aegidienbergers, and even the Peruvian Pasos who seem to adapt quite well to this kind of weather as well.

But then again, we also have Dynamix - Rossi's horse - here, and he definitely need a blanket as well xD

Normally Fenix is the forward one, while Bahia is of a more nervous nature, but today - under the care of Roland - she seemed to bloom, and actually took front under a good canter! That was definitely great, as she is both larger and more longlegged than Fenix, but it also sucked that I lost the race, haha!

Welcome here is a little about what brought me here, my plans and barns. Due to some completely overwhelmingly unwarranted negative interactions and non-neurodivergent friendly vibes. I’m going to do most of my blogging here while I learn. I’ve been at it (making horse coats, barns, using mods for decorating and horses for about two weeks. Some limitations is that have an okay computer, and barely survived the update so I’m not churning out 100% horses yet. Also I love baroque style, classic chonkers, and sport draft combos and most people are really looking for refined, small boned warm bloods. I really just want to enjoy what I have made and maybe inspire some people who think it would be too hard for them to do. Also I’m just doing this for fun I don’t make mods for people I don’t know how to do that. I have a few breed templates I may eventually make available but rather just by request. Also I’m teaching myself genetics so I’m not perfect and occasionally with GWB will make a random coat for a foal for fun.

The Two Stories:

1) Gezellige Weide Boerderij (Cozy Meadow Stables) : the main breeding and sales hun of my sims horse gaming. This was my first modded save and plot. Originally owned and operated by Lowiena van Jorrisen and managed by Everett Wheatly. After, great success in the show ring Lowiena felt she could no longer dedicate the time GWB truly needed from her to achieve our goals for breeding and sales. The stable is now owned by Everett and his partner Rodrigo Pessoa-Wheatly. Together with their son Miles who just started his elementary school. Rodrigo, head of breeding, has really committed to clarifying and manufesting GWB’s goals for sales and breeding stock with much more experience from his livelihood raising Mangalarga Marchador horses with his father and grandfather. **Fun fact**Rodrigo Pessoa is a real Brazilian Olympic rider** https://www.chronofhorse.com/article/brazilians-boast-rich-equestrian-heritage/ . GWB has horses listed for sale on Equilibrity Sims discord. The barn specializes in dressage but Everett Pessoa-Wheatly is a multidisciplinary trainer and we have several western pleasure/ barrel show horses as well. GWB is a three lot estate with a main barn, breeding/ second barn, and a sales barn as well.

2) MB Mustang Sanctuary: a more passive narrative experience. Caden and Raphael Matos-Brito. This Brazilian equestrian power couple moved to Chestnut Ridge with very specific plans for breeding, but everything changed when they found [JS] Spirit, [JS] Rain, and [JS]Esperanza at auction ( horses made by discord raptor king) The couple are now determined to recover and rehabilitate this herd. This additionally means we will intermittently offer an offspring to expand and diversify other Mustang stock. Currently the sanctuary also has MB Bullet Train a foundation Mustang stallion used as second breeding pair stud. Our most exciting news is that we have two foals already. MB Wildfire was the first foal born to the sanctuary, a red dun fully out of [JS] Spirit and [JS] Rain. This spritely filly inherited Rain’s chestnut base coat, Spirit’s dun modifier. MB Quantro Shot is the first foal out of our stallion Bullet Train and [JS] Esperanza. So spirits half brother! Quantro is quite a fast learner and precious little colt. Sporting a silver Smokey black coat with dappling, this foal is already quite the looker! Photos coming asap!

Originated in Brazil, 200 years ago at Comarca do Rio das Mortes, South of Minas Gerais.

Being the result of breedings from the Alter, Andaluzian and the Barber horses. Creating an elegant, beautiful and calm animals perfect for riding.

The first Alter horses came to Brazil at 1808, with D. João VI and the Royal family.

The name of the breed is the result of the "Mangalarga Farm" and the "Marchador" means "Gaited" in portuguese, since this horse can have two types of gaited walks:

The Batida Gait: the hooves do 2/2 sounds

The Picada Gait: Lateral and triple beats releated (Like the Paso Fino and the Paso Peruano)

Since 2014 the Mangalarga Marchador is the Brazilian National Horse Breed!!

Oilbird Pegasus! The horse breed it is based off of is the Mangalarga Marchador, a gaited horse breed from Brazil that’s is also their national horse! Love how they came out. There was supposed to be more doodles, but that one drawing took a lot of time.
