#mandricardo: -PASSES OUT-

Mash mentioned three Counts when discussing who is the Alien God "Count", that is Count Vlad, Dantes, and Cagliostro. Based on Marie testimony (of hearing the Count voices feeling nostalgic) and her impression of him, they come to suspect that it's Cagliostro.

Dantes come out of nowhere and interject that it's possibly Cagliostro. Apparently Dantes is acquintance with Cagliostro. He met him at 1838 and he mentioned that Cagliostro is long lived / immortal.

Dante then leave and then was shown walking on corridor leaving traces of blood / bleeding.

Kadoc then comes to Guda, he still suspect Dantes and that voice alone can easily be changed. Or at rather he was trying to nudge Guda to not blindly trusting people, but he still leave the decision to Guda.

Emergency happened as Chaldea summoning system operates on itself all of sudden. Mash, Vinci and others think its not possible as it has to pass through various security and was simply confused at why the machine work on itself. And it appears the one who is summoned is Star Hassan, who acts as if he's familiar with Guda and mention how he fought alongside Guda in Tokyo much to everyone's confusion. They then came to conlusion that Star Hassan met Guda in the future.

Then Dantes appears and it somehow kind of create tension between him and Star Hassan. Just about Guda trying to break their fight they suddenly lose consciousness.

And then Guda woke up in Tokyo with the related servants somehow being his friends/family/teacher in his life.

There's also blue flame creature (similar to Dantes' flame) attacking Guda at least twice as far as I am in the story. Guda still retain his memories and can still summon temporary servants to fight them.

hello! thank you for the ask! this is about ritsuka celebrating romani's birthday each year and requests time alone from everyone. this is in the perspective of goredolf though and i wanted to try writing him for a while now hehe

Goredolf hummed with approval and satisfaction. The cake he baked truly was the highlight of his day, he thought as he walked down the hallways after leaving his dish with the servants in charge of today’s kitchen.

Perhaps, he should do it more often. To bake more desserts and receive praise- Suddenly, there was a chill down his spine.

Oh, Lord-

“I-I won’t actually do it, Toole! Rather, I’d only do it once every two weeks! My technical advisor did put me on a diet and training regimen, so I deserve a little break, right?!” He muttered under his breath. Even to this day, he hasn't forgotten about her teachings…

The man stopped in his tracks as he saw a familiar figure sitting by the window sill of the ship.

It was Fujimaru.

Straightening his back and quietly clearing his throat, he walked forwards in an attempt to seemingly pass by.

Yet, as he grew closer, he couldn’t help but notice how… sad her eyes looked.

“-And then Mandricardo used Durandal to save us.” She played with her cake as she smiled. Yet that smile both held joy and sorrow, an ache that had Goredolf pausing with his breath held.

Who was she talking to, he wondered? While there are many Servants who could use presence concealment… Goredolf felt as if… there was no one there at all.

No one but Ritsuka and a companion only she knows.

“After that, Orion finally put Artemis to rest and we defeated Poseidon with a little help from Jason.” Her fork punctured through the strawberry, bringing it to her lips before settling back down on top of the slice of cake.

She sighed with that same sad smile, “I’ll hold off on what happened next so I don’t talk your ears off.” Her chuckle was quiet and low, yet genuine…the way she expressed herself was simply filled with fondness.

He felt awkward. It was likely that Fujimaru was talking to someone she had lost before the lostbelt ordeal, but it wasn’t clear just who that dear person was.

The girl who smiled so cheerfully and kindly was wavering and melancholy in this empty hallway void of people.

Goredolf had a sudden urge to pat her back and tell her that everything was going to be okay, even as things would get worse the more they moved forward. 

He sighed. Perhaps he should stay in the command room for a bit so she could have some privacy.

But those plans were thrown out the window the moment muted footsteps were heard behind him.

He turned to see who they were and found Mash Kyrielight waving. “Hello, Director.”

The blond man brought a finger to his lips and gestured to the Master laughing quietly to herself and in front of the untouched cake before her.

“Oh.” The demi servant says, her eyes drooping down as well, “It’s that time of the year again.”

“What?” He asked, his heart pounding in concern and anxiety, “What time?”

“Well, it’s-” She looked to the side and bit her lip. 

And Goredolf didn’t miss the way Mash’s eyes seemed to shine so suddenly. 

She swallowed and gripped the sleeve of her jacket, “It’s Dr. Roman’s birthday.”

Hello! This is mostly a request/gathering call for us masters: anyone up for some future planning in the comments (goals etc.)? Since we’re going back into the arena, I think it’d be really helpful if we listed/discussed a couple of goals we wanted to hit when we’re back at it! Normally there’s a bunch of discussion under posts, but they’re typically more focused on the occurring event, so. Here’s a compilation of current future goals we have, any masters please feel free to add more on/discuss in the comments!

In no particular order,

Current common goals:

1) Get checkup done by Angra’s healer person

2) Go find Avenger (Salieri)

3) Get Avenger (Salieri) back

4) Tear Caster to shreds :]

5) Figure out what to do from there

Possible other goals:

1) Figure out if we want more servants on our team, if so who and when (having more under us doesn’t mean they’ll necessarily trust, like, or go with our plans. More servants also mean more people to work with/look over and higher expenses of resources (items etc). We might want to discuss things and consider how well we can trust servants we want to rope in, and how we’re going to handle logistics and prioritise servants, wants, and needs before we go through with things)

2) If Avenger’s in kill mode, bring him back out of it and back to himself

3) If we do have multiple servants at some point, figure out a system so that we don’t accidentally end up with the negligence situations again 😔 (though that should be negated by a lot if we’re all on the same team)

4) Go find Rider, talk to him/figure stuff out with him

5) Find items and resources/temp allies?

6) Go find Saber, talk to them, get loreblasted 👍 (before or after we end Caster debatable, but they did mention hoping for no deaths in this war (soz bud, very likely nah))

7) Temporary ceasefire/truce with Blue team until we to tear Caster to the ground

8) Apology letter to Blue team

9) Avenger (Angra) mentioned that he passed what was left of Mandricardo’s data to someone, maybe he’s one of those under Saber? Keep an eye out for him?

Rider had sort of… left out, and then come back. Getting ahold of him was basically impossible, until he returned smelling like pizza and alcohol. He laughed- something incredibly rare- before falling down face-first on a bed and passing out entirely.

Enkidu: They like vibing with the nature spirits in Chaldea, it's nice. I saw a comic about Enkidu using their transformation skill to be bigger than Gil just to bully him, and yes I love that.

god there’s so much i can say about Mandricardo’s use of the real Durindana at the end of Lostbelt 5, the sheer symbolism of him going from having literally scrounged it out of the trash in life, to now picking it up from where it fell from the hands of it’s original owner, who threw it forward with that knowledge, the knowledge that the swordspear would not merely lie there, but that it would be picked up by someone worthy of wielding it, perhaps the person MOST worthy of wielding it besides Hektor. (i’m literally crying right now as i level mandricardo)

and how that ties in with Lostbelt 5′s whole themes and point of involving so many Servants, even ones we don’t see on screen. it is constant passing of the baton, passing of the torch, the dead gods literally passing on nanomachines called their “legacies”, neither Servants nor gods knowing who will pick up what they left behind, only knowing that SOMEONE will, that someone, anyone, will not let their sacrifices be in vain, and will take what they left behind and carry it forward, whether it be knowledge or strategy or powerful weapons. they don’t know each other, don’t know who will be coming after them, don’t even know what this “Chaldea” they’ve been summoned to help is, but they are still able to put so much trust in one another, something that neither Chiron or Odysseus of the Lostbelt were able to do. Yes, the two of them believe that the other will be able to “finish the job” of defeating Chaldea, but while they have ‘knowledge’ of their PHH selves, they don’t have the real experiences, Chiron’s experiences of teaching so many legendary Greek heroes and leaving something behind bigger than himself, Odysseus’s experiences of picking up where Achilles left off in the Trojan War, cuz while Achilles did go berserk after Patroclus’ death, he must have done so with the knowledge that someone among the Greeks would be able to finish what he started in terms of defeating the Trojans, and PHH Odysseus and the remaining Greeks were able to live up to the trust placed in them by their strongest hero. 

it’s something we’ve seen in the other Lostbelt’s, with Patxi’s speech on how we should be the ones to survive, Qin Shi Huang’s acceptance of the strength of PHH for carrying humanity forward, Karna and Ash’s trust in one another in sharing the Spirit Origin to defeat Arjuna Alter, Lakshmibai’s rebellion in life knowing that she would never be the only one to rebel against oppression and Nemo’s guilt over not being able to live up to that, we’ve seen this sort of thing before (hell even as far back as UBW with Archer’s death and entrusting Gil’s defeat to Shirou) but it’s never been as prominent and as hammered in as in Lostbelt 5.

Commentary:

This doesn't actually happen in Orlando Furioso.

As Atlantis showcased, Mandricardo is genuinely pitiable and rather pathetic, not only due to how obscure he is but because of how his story plays out. With his father one of the unfortunate victims of Charlemagne Paladin peacekeeping, Mandricardo swore to avenge him by killing Roland himself. To that end, he sought to match the supposed power Durandal by seeking out the rest of the legendary Trojan Hektor's armaments for himself. It's a deceptively heroic enterprise full of cunning, derring-do, and at least one bedded fairy. Along the way, he's cursed to not receive the enchantments (read: complete invincibility) the arms will give him unless he successfully takes Durandal itself from Roland by force. Undeterred, he finally confronts Roland and challenges him to mortal combat with Durandal (which Roland puts aside for the sake of fairness) as the prize and Roland's death as his true objective. They battle, but in spite of of how much Mandricardo has grown in strength and character, he's clearly still no match for Roland and is only saved from death because his horse panics and runs off during the mounted portion of their gauntlet of duels.

It's this failure and unintentional escape that facilitates the title misadventure of this story. Roland hunts Mandricardo (who, in spite of hunting so vigorously for Roland, has somehow made himself scarce when the reverse is in play) for three days so they can finish their fight. During this pursuit, he happens upon the secret love grotto of his (would-be and unwilling) lover Angelica and her own lover (by actual choice) Medoro. Would you like to know how he knows that? He sees their names carved into a tree trunk. He later chances upon a note left behind by the two that describes how they made sweet, consensual love to each other. He's still in denial and makes to rest in a nearby shepherd's cottage for the night. Here is where the deathblow is struck; he reluctantly asks the shepherd if he saw Angelica pass by and the shepherd honestly answers that she did do so, gave one of her iconic bracelets to him as payment so she could stay in the cottage awhile, with some gentlemen, in the very bed that Roland is resting on.

Roland is devastated. He rides back to the love grotto, destroys it and screams towards the heavens, crying all the while. He then strips off all his clothes and starts demolishing everything in his path as he goes...well...FURIOSO.

Hearing of how Roland has even tossed aside Durandal in his mania, Mandricardo makes haste towards the ruins of the grotto to steal it, only to encounter the brave Scottish prince Zerbino - who Roland had rescued from execution and reunited with his love Isabel - who is there to recover both the sacred sword and Roland's abandoned steed Brigliadoro out of gratitude for the Paladin's help. The man Roland scorned then kills the man Roland saved and takes both the sword and the horse for himself. The anti-hero transformed into a straightforward villain.

Ultimately, it is not what Mandricardo does that seals his fate as an obscure antagonist, but what he doesn't do. Even with Durandal in his hand and Roland quite naked and out of his mind, Mandricardo still can't bring himself to try and avenge his father in spite of all his newfound advantages. In his defense, Roland is still outrageously strong, capable of kicking donkeys over mountains and still instinctively combat-savvy enough to defeat (but not kill) a fully armed and highly enchanted (strengthened and partially invincible through spells and the armor of Nimrod) Rodomonte, who was Charlemagne's chief rival in the story. In comparison, Bradamante, who also defeated Rodomonte, required all her artifacts and arms to duplicate this feat.

And so Mandricardo cravenly goes off on a series of inane (although not inconsequential) misadventures to fill that vengeance vow void during which he wins the love of the Princess of Granada, allies with and then alienates Rodomonte because of said love, before the fact that he only has partial invincibility from the arms of Hektor (as he neither won Durandal through force or from just killing Roland with it) does him in. And it's not even Roland who kills him. More on that later.

     No one asked for this but i’m going to share my thoughts anyway. 

     Medusa and Carmilla carried my ass through the early fgo game. i just started this account in March or February. I stopped ascending Medusa when I found out there would be a banner with Achilles on it and I wanted to use all my Rider materials on him instead, and as you can see, my #1 boy is all the way to 100, maxed out Fous, because I love him.

     Bedivere? Has a bitch slap like no other. Caesar? My secret weapon. I don’t know why I don’t see more talk about how amazing Caesar is. I chose to grail Bedivere instead because he has those big ooga booga Buster damage hits, but I think Caesar might be better, given skills and crits and all that. Lakshmibai? I freakin’ love watching her flip around and even though her NP hits like a wet noodle, her regular attacks are really good! 

     Sei surprised me. I call her Sei the Slayer. She is surprisingly awesome. I literally could not stand her at first because she’s so... ... ... loud and annoying. But overtime, even that grew on me. When she says Heian Beam? It’s so silly and adorable. And she mows down everything in her past. Sei the Slayer fears no Sabers. Sei the Slayer eats Sabers for breakfast.

    Cu Chulainn obviously had to be Grailed. I put him in the back with Volumen Hydrargen or whatever it’s called for every fight, and he has never failed to pull through for me. He just refuses to die, and I like that in a man. First string Lancer is obviously Romulus, though. I had to roll for him; I’m Italian, he’s basically my grandfather.

     Achilles. My love. I need no other Riders but you. His voice lines for selecting his NP, and then when he DOES his NP? I need a minute. (passes out). That GROWL at the end. Mmf. Of all FGO men, Orrie is hot for Achilles. Medusa and Mandricardo fill the back bench. I like Medusa better. Everything says Mandricardo is better but I just don’t get it. His best skill literally kills him. What is the point of that.

    I got Waver with the Free SSR ticket. Everyone said I needed him and I didn’t understand why, but now I understand, and now he’s in every single line up. People were speaking TRUTH when they said that just having him will make the game easier. Apparently, supports are just as important as damage dealers. I never knew. I just rolled Merlin on that Sunday last week when he was up, and two of him showed up. Very excited to pair him with Bedi and Romulus and my big Buster guys. And for damage dealing Casters, Medea had me THRIVING in the first few singularities, just Rule-breaker after Rule-breaker. And I have Caster Gil. I forget about him and when I use him I’m always surprised. When I need a Caster to kill things, I use Caster Gil.

    I love Franny, but I don’t understand why everyone says she’s so good. I like using her because she’s cute but she really doesn’t do too much damage. I am really looking forward to making my Penthesilea big and stronk, but honestly??? I barely use Berserkers. They’re so fragile, I just don’t see the point. I don’t know how to use them.

     And those are my thoughts. I’m F2P but I’ve had really good luck. I don’t think I’ll save too much for Castoria, since I have Waver and Merlin. What I really need is a decent Assassin so Carmilla doesn’t have to do it all herself, and a single target Rider might be nice. I don’t know if they make those. Can’t think of one besides Ozy.

     Anyway, I watch a lot of youtube videos to help me through the game and I’m having a lot of fun. Bedi, Sei, and Carmilla all have special places in my hearts as Servants that I had low expectations of who have just blown me away.

Keep an Open Mind

Hello Future Students!

Get ready to embark on a journey with the macro lens of society.  My biggest piece of advice to you is to go into this class with an open mind. You will be learning about, and discussing several controversial topics facing today’s society with fellow students. I advise you not to pass judgement towards others in society with which you may deem to portray abnormal behavior.  It is imperative that you step out of your micro world, and start to look at the world through a macro lens.  Remember, what you deem normal in your own world, may be deemed abnormal in someone else’s culture.  

Also, you should use scientific research and data to help you make better and more informed decisions to help form your opinions. You will learn more about those topics in one of the first chapters of the text book.  This way of critical thinking will not only help you in this class, but also in real world scenarios when you enter the work force after collage. In fact, I’m already using what I learned in this class to help me be more engaged with our diversity and inclusion groups we have at my company.  Our diversity and inclusion groups include African American, Asian, Latino, women, and LGBT employees.  And everything we covered in this class I will be able to apply when engaging with those groups of employees.  

So, in closing, I hope you can enjoy this semester and much as I did. Just remember to keep an open mind and ask Dr. J any questions if you get stuck and you’ll do just fine.

               Every minute that passed by made Mandricardo grow more and more nervous. Sweat slowly dripped from his forehead as the anxiety of knowing that Hektor´s brother was standing right in front of him, possibly wondering who in the world he was, or why he admired Hektor so much filled his mind. What if he thought he was some sort of weirdo!? how awful it would be to make such a bad first impression on someone such as Paris!

Gulping down, he was ready to blurt out something---- anything that would make that tedious wait cease, yet his words were suddenly cut short as Paris took the lead and decided to speak first;

His tensed up shoulders relaxed, and for the first time during their whole meeting, Mandricardo could finally feel his heart, that was stuck right on his throat, finally falling back on its original place.

What a relief! he didn´t hate him!

"Ah! ha ha! ye-yeah! he is a great man, I can´t believe he--- I mean, you both are here in Chaldea!" He exclaimed enthusiastically, almost forgetting about his previous nerves before he realized how maybe---- just maybe, he was the one out of place in Chaldea, and more considering how it was filled with heroes. Who was he? an ex-king, a man who couldn´t even avenge the death of his beloved father, simply an adventurer.

Yes, he was definitely the one at fault in Chaldea.

Lowering his tone of voice in almost a whisper, Mandricardo scratched the side of his cheek sheepishly as he looked to the side, gulping down his own embarrassment the best he could; "-----or better said, I can´t believe I have the honor of sharing the same space as you guys"
