You sat cross-legged on Mason's couch. The room smelled faintly of your favorite takeout, a mix of jerk chicken and rice and peas that filled your stomachs and warmed the air. Despite the comfort of your shared laughter, you could feel the tension coiled in Mason's demeanor, the result of a tough match and an even tougher breakup.
“So, what happened?” you asked, your voice gentle and curious.
Mason sighed, running a hand through his buzzed hair. “It was like pulling teeth. She didn't get why I had to end it. Kept saying we could work through it.”
“But you've both been miserable for weeks,” you said, your eyebrows furrowing in concern. “I thought she'd be relieved.”
Mason's eyes darted around the room before landing on his phone. “I don't know, she just... didn't take it well.”
You leaned over and plucked the phone from his hand. “Come on, spill it. What did she say?”
Mason's cheeks flushed as he recounted the teary conversation. “She said I'd never find someone who loves me like she does. It was all a bit dramatic, really.”
You rolled your eyes. “Classic breakup line.”
Mason snorted, a half-hearted smile playing on his lips. “I know, right? But it still stings a bit 'cause I know I'm the problem, not her.”
You put down your takeout container, leaning closer to him. “Mase, what do you mean?”
Mason rubbed the back of his neck, looking sheepish. “I guess I'm not ready to be in a real relationship, you know? Just something I've gotta work on.”
You studied him, your brown eyes searching his. “You're not giving yourself enough credit. You're a catch, Mason. A bit of a knobhead at times,” she teased, “but you've got a heart of gold.”
Mason chuckled, the tension in his shoulders easing slightly. “Cheers, love. Breakup came at a good time though, 'cause I've got this bet with the United lads.”
“Oh?” you raised an eyebrow. “What bet?”
Mason's grin grew shy. “No Nut November. You know, the challenge where you don't... you know.”
Your eyes narrowed in disbelief, then you burst into laughter. “You're actually doing that?”
Mason nodded, his cheeks darkening. “Yeah, for a bit of a laugh, you know? See how long we can last without... indulging.”
You couldn't help but smirk. “So, what, you're all just walking around like a bunch of pent-up teenagers?”
“Pretty much,” Mason admitted, his smile turning into a grimace. “It's a good thing, really. Keeps my head in the game.”
You nodded, your amusement clear. “And your hands out of your pants,” you quipped.
Mason playfully slapped your arm. “You're one to talk, Miss ‘I've been single since forever’.”
You laughed, shrugging. “At least I'm not making bets about it!”
Mason rolled his eyes. “By the end of the month, I'll be the most zen person you know,” he said, puffing his chest at the thought, a boyish grin pulling at his lips.
“Mm-hmm,” you said, your voice dripping with sarcasm. And what do you get if you win this challenge?”
Mason shrugged. “Bragging rights, I guess. Works for me.”
The rest of November rolled by with you keeping a close eye on Mason's mood swings. His frustration grew palpable as the days ticked away, his jokes about the challenge turned from light-hearted to desperate. Every time you saw him, you made sure to ask about his progress, enjoying the way his face contorted in an attempt to hide his growing irritation.
“How's the zen life treating you?” you teased, your eyes gleaming with amusement.
Mason groaned dramatically. “Don't even start.”
You couldn't hold back your laughter. “Seriously, though, you've got to be close to breaking point by now?”
Mason's brown eyes narrowed playfully. “Why're you so eager to see me fail? You're supposed to be supportive.”
You leaned back, your hand on your chest. “Me? I'm just an innocent bystander, observing the madness that is No Nut November.”
Mason threw a pillow at you, which you deftly caught. “You're a sadist, you know that?”
“Just keeping it real, Mase,” you said, tossing the pillow back.
The last week of November was the hardest for Mason. You noticed he'd become quieter, his laughter less frequent. It was as if he was deep in thought whenever he was off the pitch. The banter between the two of you took on an edge of tension, his jokes a little less playful, his responses a little more curt. Worried, you sent a text to Declan, who had only told you that Mason had reached an “epiphany” during their most recent chat a few nights back.
On the final day of the month, you were at your flat, expecting a typical evening of binge-watching reality TV shows and scrolling through social media. But when your doorbell rang, you were surprised to find Mason standing there, a bouquet of flowers in hand.
“Mason?” you asked, taking in his slightly nervous expression.
He held out the flowers, a blush spreading across his cheeks. “I know it's random, but I had to tell you something, and I figured flowers might help ease the blow if you decide to laugh in my face.”
You took the bouquet, feeling the weight of the moment. You stepped aside, inviting him in with a tilt of your head. “Alright, come in, I guess. What's going on?”
Mason shuffled his feet, his gaze darting around the room before settling on you. “I had a chat with Declan and Lauren, about, you know, relationships and stuff. And they got me thinking about what I really want.”
Your heart skipped a beat, but you played it cool. “Oh?”
Mason nodded, his eyes searching yours. “Yeah, and I realized something. Every time I'm with someone, I can't help but picture you there instead. It's like you're this standard in my head, and no one ever measures up to what I think it would be like to be with you.”
You felt a warmth spread through your chest, your grip tightening on the flowers. You didn't know what to say, your mind racing with a mix of excitement and disbelief. Before you could respond, Mason took a step closer.
“I know it's weird,” he continued, his voice low and earnest. “And I know you probably think I'm out of my mind. But I can't stop thinking about it. I've never felt this way about anyone else, not even close.”
Your throat went dry as you stared at him, the words you wanted to hear for so long finally hanging in the air between you. You parted your lips to respond, but left unable to answer, you simply closed the gap and kissed him instead.
The kiss was gentle, a soft press of your lips that grew more urgent with every passing second. Mason's arms wrapped around your waist, pulling you closer as your hand found its way to the back of his neck. The flowers fell to the floor, forgotten in the heat of the moment.
Mason's breath was warm against your skin as you broke apart, his eyes searching yours for any sign of doubt or rejection. But all he saw was the same longing that mirrored his own.
“Was that okay?” he whispered, his voice ragged with emotion.
You nodded, your heart hammering in your chest. “More than okay.” You stepped closer to him, your eyes shimmering with unshed tears. “I don't think I realized how much I've been waiting for this either,” you admitted.
Mason's eyes widened, and then he was kissing you again, more urgently this time. You stumbled backward, your bodies colliding with the wall of your hallway, your hands exploring each other with a newfound hunger. The tension of the past few weeks dissolved into pure passion, the air between the two of you crackling with the electricity of a year's worth of unspoken desires.
You didn't speak as you made your way to the bedroom, your kisses speaking volumes. The room was dimly lit by the flickering of the TV, casting shadows across your faces as you shed your clothes. Mason paused, his eyes raking over your body, his gaze lingering on the curves he had only ever seen hidden beneath baggy sweatshirts and jeans, except for the occasional glimpse at the pool or beach.
You felt a shy warmth up your neck, but you held his gaze, your own desire matching his. You fell onto the bed, your kisses becoming more heated as your bodies entwined. Mason's touch was gentle, almost reverent, as he explored you with his hands, his thumbs brushing over your hips and ribs, leaving a trail of goosebumps in their wake.
Your breath hitched as Mason's lips found your neck, kissing a path down to your collarbone. His hands were firm but tender as he unclipped your bra, and you felt the coolness of the room against your bare skin. You reached out to trace the tattoos scattered along his arms and the one at the nape of his neck, the one you had been surprised he got in the first place. His muscles tensed under your touch, and he let out a soft groan.
Your kisses grew more urgent as you moved together on the bed, the mattress squeaking gently beneath you. You felt your heart racing, your body responding to every touch, every caress. Mason's fingers danced over your skin, igniting a fire you had long ago convinced yourself you didn't feel. But here it was, burning bright and uncontrollable.
“Sensitive?” you teased, the words spoken softly against Mason's mouth as your fingers traced the ink on his ribs.
Mason chuckled, his eyes never leaving yours. “Only for you, love.”
Your laughter melded into a passionate kiss as you rolled over, you now on top of him. You felt powerful and alive, every inch of your skin tingling with the anticipation of what was to come. Mason's hands slid up your back, his fingertips tracing the contours of your body as you moved against him.
You felt a sudden jolt of nerves. This was it, the moment you didn't know you longed for so much. You had always been the quiet, reserved one, content to watch from the sidelines. But here you were, the star of the show, your heart pounding like a drum in your chest.
Mason must have noticed, because he gently cupped your face with his hands, his thumbs stroking your cheeks. “We can stop if you want to. I just had to tell you how I feel.”
But you were beyond the point of no return. You leaned down, your eyes searching his, and whispered, “Don't you dare stop, Mason. I want this. More than you know.”
Mason's eyes lit up, the nervousness dissipating as he rolled you two over, taking control with a gentle force. His kisses grew more demanding, his hands more insistent, and you found yourself lost in the sensation. The months of friendship had built a bond between you, and now, as you finally gave in to your desires, it felt like the most natural thing in the world.
Your movements grew more frantic, your breaths mingling as you raced towards something you hadn't dared hope for. You could feel the tension in Mason's body, the same tension that had been building in him all month, and you reveled in the power you had over him.
As you reached your climax, it was as if a dam had broken, releasing a flood of emotions and years of unspoken feelings. The two of you clung to each other, your bodies slick with sweat, your hearts beating in sync.
Afterwards, you lay tangled in the mess of your passion, hands still roaming, hearts still racing. The silence was comfortable, filled with the quiet whispers of your breathing and the occasional giggle when a limb got tangled. You felt a warmth spread through you that was unlike anything you had ever felt before, a sense of belonging that you hadn't realized you had been missing. His chest, firm and warm, made a perfect pillow for your cheek, and you listened to the steady thump of his heart as it slowly returned to normal.
Mason finally broke the silence, his voice a low rumble that vibrated against your skin. “So, I guess I failed No Nut November, huh?”
You looked up at him, your eyes sparkling with warmth. “Epic fail, Mount. But totally worth it, if you ask me.”
Mason chuckled, his arms tightening around you. “I guess that's one way to look at it. I'm just relieved it's over, to be honest. Made my head all fuzzy sometimes.”
You traced your finger along the line of his jaw, feeling the neatly groomed hair against your fingertip. “Well, you've got thirty days of freedom coming your way. What are you going to do with it?”
Mason's smile was soft, his eyes still on yours. “I'm thinking of spending it with you, if that's alright?”
You giggled softly and nodded, your heart racing. “Yeah, I think I could manage that,” you murmured, your voice barely above a whisper. “What was that chat with Declan and Lauren about, though?”
Mason leaned in, his breath tickling your ear. “Remember when I said I needed to sort myself out before I could be in a good relationship? They just pointed out the obvious. That there was something holding me back, something I hadn't faced. Like I was holding on to some... I don't know, hope maybe?”
You felt his words resonate deep within you. You had often wondered if Mason had felt the same way you did but had been too scared to admit it. You took a deep breath, your heart racing. “And what did you tell them?”
Mason's eyes searched yours, a hint of vulnerability in his gaze. “That I always hoped that I'd eventually end up with you. That every girl I've been with, it was like I was just filling the time until you and I were ready for more.”
Your breath hitched at his words, your heart swelling in your chest. You had felt the same way but had never had the courage to voice it. The two of you lay there, your hearts beating in time, basking in the reality of your confessions. Years' worth of tension had led you to this moment, a culmination of unspoken feelings and hidden glances.
“You know,” you began, your voice shaky as you suppressed a giggle, “I wondered if we'd ever just give up on dating and just be together. We've both been horrid partners.”
Mason chuckled, his eyes shimmering with affection. “Yeah, but I think we've found our match in each other. Besides, I've had enough drama for a lifetime with the other ones. You're the one who's always been there for me, no matter what.”
You leaned your head on his chest again, listening to the steady thump of his heart. “And I always will be,” you murmured.
Mason's hand found yours, lacing your fingers together. “My mum always said that when you know, you know. And I think I've known for a while now. I just didn't know how to tell you without messing up our friendship.”
You squeezed his hand. “I don't think much will change between us, honestly. We'll just be a bit more... affectionate in public, I guess?”
Mason nodded, his smile growing. “And I get to kiss you wherever I want,” he pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead, “whenever I want,” he kissed your nose, “without worrying if it's too soon or if it'll ruin the friendship.” His lips found yours again.
You sighed contentedly against his mouth. “You're a really good kisser, you know that?”
Mason grinned. “Years of practice.”
You rolled your eyes, but your smile betrayed your amusement. “Gross, you've been kissing a bunch of other girls to get good at kissing me?”
Mason's expression turned playfully offended. “Hey, I've been preparing for this moment my whole life. I promise it's all been worth it, though. You're officially the best kiss I've ever had.”
You giggled, feeling a warmth spread through your chest. “I'll take it I guess.”

cockblock
pairing: mason mount x reader
summary: in which mason’s dog, ace is fiercely protective of you
warnings: ace being a little menace

Tumblr media
mason loved ace. he really did. he picked him out, raised him, spoiled him.
but lately, he was starting to think his dog might actually hate him.
or worse—see him as a threat.
because ever since you moved in, ace had gone from loyal sidekick to jealous little tyrant. and mason? mason had been completely and aggressively cockblocked.
by his own dog.
it started with the couch. mason would sit down, arm already reaching for you, only for ace to jump up first and plop right in your lap. every. single. time.
“move,” mason said, nudging him gently with a cushion.
ace didn’t move.
he just adjusted—so now he was lying between you two, staring mason down like, go on, try her, see what happens.
you giggled. “he just wants cuddles.”
“so do i, but you don’t see me launching myself into your lap.”
“you literally did that last week.”
“that was one time. out of desperation.”
mason would lean in for a kiss and—without fail—ace would bark. or sneeze. or make some cursed little grunt that made it very clear: this was not allowed.
“i can’t even touch you anymore,” mason groaned one night after another failed attempt to kiss your neck. “i get growled at for hugging you.”
“you’re being dramatic.”
“he headbutted me earlier. i have a bruise.”
“okay, that was a little dramatic—”
“i’m living in fear. i have to look over my shoulder before i kiss my girlfriend.”
and god help him if he tried to spoon you at night. ace always wormed his way between you, like a tiny, furry wedge. mason would reach for your waist and hit dog. every time.
“this is hell,” he muttered into the pillow.
you snorted softly. “he just wants to be close to me.”
“i want to be close to you! that’s the whole point of this relationship!”
you reached around ace and brushed your fingers through mason’s hair, which helped. kind of. but ace sighed in the middle like he was disgusted with both of you.
mason stared at the ceiling. “he thinks i’m the side piece.”
the mornings weren’t any better. mason would wake up to find ace already on top of you, tail wagging, licking your face like he hadn’t seen you in years.
mason would reach for your hand—ace would step on his fingers.
once, mason actually tried to pick ace up and move him. ace looked him dead in the eyes and let out the most offended noise mason had ever heard. like, how dare you, in my house?
you were absolutely no help.
“you’re just mad he’s a better cuddler,” you mumbled, hugging ace tighter.
mason sat at the foot of the bed, dramatically betrayed. “you used to cuddle me. remember that? when we were in love?”
“we’re still in love.”
“are we? because i think you’ve fallen for a 20-pound frenchie with an attitude problem.”
ace wagged his tail.
and honestly? mason couldn’t take it anymore.
he tried everything. new toys, new treats, walks just the two of them. nothing worked. ace still shot him dirty looks every time he touched you.
“i just want five minutes alone with my girlfriend,” mason told ace one night, hands on his hips. “just five.”
ace barked once.
“that a yes or a no?”
ace walked away.
“you’re a menace.”
later that night, mason waited until ace was fully passed out before quietly sliding into bed next to you and spooning you from behind. his arm wrapped around your waist. his nose pressed to your shoulder.
peace. bliss.
he didn’t even move when ace shifted a little in his sleep—because for once, he was too tired to cockblock. he let mason have you. and mason was going to cherish it.
“this is the best night of my life,” he whispered.
you laughed softly, already half-asleep. “because i’m cuddling you?”
“no. because he’s not.”

You entered the prison’s meeting room, the door clicking shut behind you. Luigi Mangione was sitting there, his frame stretched out in the chair, his eyes immediately locking onto yours. The CEO murder suspect had a way of commanding attention, even in a place like this.
His smirk spread when you walked in. “I didn’t expect you so early, Ms. Y/L/N.” The way he said it, smooth and casual, sent a shiver down your spine, though you weren’t about to let him see it.
You placed your briefcase on the table, taking a seat across from him. “We need to focus on your defense, Luigi,” you said, trying to sound composed. “You’re facing serious charges. I’m not here for small talk.”
His eyes gleamed with amusement. “Is that really why you’re here, though?” He leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table, his gaze intense. “Or is there something else? You come in here, all professional, but I can see the way you look at me. I can feel it.”
He was always so flirty with you despite the place and conditions he was in. It was like when you were around, nothing else mattered.
You held his stare, refusing to back down. “I’m here to do my job. That’s all.”
Luigi chuckled, his signature smirk widening as he leaned closer. “Maybe, but if you were really just here to do your job, you wouldn’t be biting your lip right now. That’s not very professional, is it?”
Your breath caught, but you refused to let him win. “You don’t know anything about me.”
“Don’t I?” His voice dropped, the words sending a delicious thrill down your spine. “I know you’re curious. Maybe more than you’d like to admit. And it’s not just my case you’re interested in, is it?”
You scoffed, trying to maintain control. “You think you can just distract me like that? You’re wrong, Mangione. This is about your future, not whatever you think this is.”
Luigi smiled, a slow, knowing smile that made your heart race. “I don’t think it’s just me who’s distracted, though.” He reached across the table, his fingers brushing yours lightly. “I think you’re just as interested in me as I am in you. It’s alright to admit it, sweetheart. I’m good at reading people.”
You didn’t pull your hand away, despite the heat pooling in your chest. His touch sent a thrill through you, and despite every logical thought screaming at you to stay focused, you found yourself leaning closer. “You’re full of yourself,” you murmured, though it came out softer than you intended.
“Maybe,” he whispered, his voice low and dangerously smooth, “But I’m not wrong, am I?”
There was a beat of silence. The air between you two felt charged with unspoken words. His gaze dipped to your lips for just a moment before flicking back up to your eyes. “I think you want this as much as I do. And if I’m wrong, well, you can always walk out.” His challenge was clear, daring you to take the next step.
You were trembling slightly, fighting the undeniable pull between you. Finally, the tension cracked, and you leaned in, your lips brushing against his in a heated, desperate kiss. It was fierce, hungry, as if you both had been holding back for too long.
His hand slid to the back of your neck, deepening the kiss, pulling you closer, making it impossible to think about anything but him. Your breath mingled as the kiss became more urgent, the room spinning around you both.
When you finally pulled away, breathless and flushed, you couldn’t help but smirk. “You got what you wanted.”
Luigi's eyes gleamed, still holding you close. “Maybe,” he murmured, his lips brushing your ear, “but I think I want more.”
“Then it’ll have to be quick and worth both our while.” Your lips hovered just above his as you spoke, the closeness sending a thrill through you.
You met his gaze, feeling the heat of the moment. “You’re right, wouldn’t want us to get in any trouble,” he replied, your voice steady. Luigi’s smirk returned, his eyes glinting with that familiar confidence. “I can work with that.” His hands slid down to your waist, pulling you closer as he moved with an urgency that matched the tension in the room.
Before you could fully process what was happening, he had moved swiftly, lifting you and guiding you onto the desk. The change in position caught you off guard, but you couldn’t deny the thrill of it.
His voice was low, but there was a softness to it, a contrast to the intensity of the moment. “I’ve got you,” he murmured, a reassuring tone in his voice. “You’re so beautiful.” His words sent a rush of warmth through you, a reminder that despite the charged energy between you, there was a tenderness to his touch.
His eyes locked in yours, the air filled with lust as he rode your skirt up and shifted your thong. He smirked looking down at the laced adorned fabric then lifted his gaze back to yours. His soft fingers collected your wetness, spreading it across your pussy then settling on your clit as he rubbed slow circles, preparing you to take his cock.
“You’re so wet, not to professional of you is it?” he whispered, voice husky.
“No teasing, Luigi,” you muttered, your breath ragged.
He pulled down the bottoms of his orange jumpsuit then his boxers went next, revealing a thick, hard cock. He was long, too, surely to hit all the right places and fill you up just right.
“Like what you see, Ms. Y/L/N?” he asked, cockily.
“I think I’d much rather feel it,” you retorted.
You held onto the desk, the rhythm of your breathing matching his, as he positioned the leaking tip of his cock against your pussy. He slowly pushed into you, your walls twitching around him as he filled you up, making you feel every inch and vein. He was so thick, the stretch practically burning as he stilled, allowing you to adjust to his size. Luigi was strikingly handsome, it was no surprise he had the package to match.
Luigi moved with purpose, careful yet insistent, and his words followed, each one laced with encouragement. “That’s it, just like that, take my cock inside that tight pussy.”
You moaned quietly, hands moving to his biceps as he rolled his hips to meet yours. Looking down, you stared briefly at his cock only half way moving inside you. He couldn’t even fit all of him in yet you still felt so full.
A hand snaking around your throat snapped you out of your thoughts. “Look at me while I fuck you.”
Adhering to his command, your gaze fixated on his as he pounded into you. The lust and pure ferocity in his eyes made your pussy flutter and he gripped your neck tighter to ground himself.
“You feel so fucking perfect. I knew I would have you like this since the moment I saw you. I knew you needed good fuck,” he muttered.
Your jaw fell agape in response, breathy gasps and moans leaving it as he repeatedly slammed into your g spot.
“Oh baby, you grip my dick so tight when I slam against your g spot like that. Be a good girl and cum for me,” he said.
His pace increased and the desk rocked as he helped you chase your orgasm and soon he felt your body convulse underneath his touch. His lips crashed against yours, stifling loud moans as your orgasm ripped through you like a sharp knife. He slowly pulled out and you squirted on his cock and his orange jumpsuit, your pussy practically gushing like a fountain.
“Fucking hell, you really needed this didn’t you baby? I know you did, I could see it in your eyes. How much you needed to be fucked good,” he murmured.
He wasn’t finished with you yet though. With his hand snaked around your neck, he pushed you flat onto the hard desk and thrusted harshly inside you. This time, every inch of his cock filled you up, the tight fit making you squirm underneath him.
“You can take it. You’re a good girl aren’t you?” he asked. You nodded frantically, a small pout on your lips as if begging him to move but slowly.
He began slamming into you harshly, the desk creaking underneath you and your braids that were once in a bun now lay messy framing your face as you lay on the desk at your client’s mercy. What would the officers think if they saw you like this? The public? The media? Deep down though, you didn’t care.
If anything, you’d want them to see you like this. You’d want the whole world to see Luigi fucking you like the slut you were. You’d want the world to see his hand around your neck stopping your breath as his cock practically brushed your cervix. And you’d especially want those little fan girls to see that Luigi Mangione belonged to you and you were the only girl he would be fucking.
You spread your legs even wider, giving him a clear view of your pussy as he pounded into you, the sound of squelching the best thing he had heard all those weeks being in prison.
“You’re so wet, so fucking beautiful, taking me so well,” he praised.
He lifted a foot onto the desk, angling his big cock even deeper and you knew you were about to cum again.
“Shit baby, cum with me, squirt on my cock while I cum inside you. Now,” he growled, cock throbbing inside your walls.
Your back arched from the desk as another intense orgasm took ahold of you and you squirted on his cock once more. His cum filled you up, your pussy juices spurting it out after, creating a large wet patch on his jumpsuit.
He hovered on top of you, both of you breathing heavily as the weight of the moment settled. He leaned in, his lips brushing your ear, “I knew you could handle my cock. You did so well for me.”
The air between you and Luigi was still charged, though the intensity had softened into something warmer, gentler. He reached into his pocket, pulling out a clean cloth, and his movements were slow, as if he wanted to savor the quiet moment.
“Let me take care of you,” he said softly, his voice low but tender as he carefully cleaned you up. His touch was light, and when he finished, he cupped your cheek with his hand.
You looked up at him, still catching your breath, and he smiled faintly, brushing a braid behind your ear. Then, he leaned down to press a lingering kiss to your forehead, the gesture so unexpected that it sent a wave of warmth straight to your chest.
“You okay?” he asked, his thumb grazing your cheek in a way that felt more intimate than anything else that had happened.
You nodded, a small smile tugging at your lips. “I’m fine.”
There was a beat of silence before you adjusted your position, sitting straighter on the desk. With a playful grin, you met his eyes. “Now,” you said, smoothing your skirt back into place, “to discuss the severity of your charges.”
Luigi chuckled, leaning back slightly but not stepping too far away. The smirk on his lips was both familiar and maddening. “Yes, ma’am,” he replied.
Before you could retort, he leaned back in, catching your lips in another kiss. This one was slower, softer, his hand rested on your waist, anchoring you to him, and when he finally pulled back, he whispered, “For the record, you’re even better than I imagined.”
You rolled your eyes, though you couldn’t hide the smile on your face. “Let’s keep this professional from here on out, Mangione.”
His smirk only widened. “Whatever you say, Counselor.”

The Tooney and Russo Show | Alessia Russo x Williamson!Reader, Leah Williamson x Sister!Reader & Ella Toone x Platonic!Reader
Where you take over hosting The Tooney & Russo show when Vick is sick.
Woso masterlist | Words: 1.2k
-----
“Tooney, you’ve made it!” Alessia stood up and hugged her best friend. You were meeting Ella for breakfast before heading to the studio to film their last podcast episode for the season. “How was the trip?” You asked after you gave her a hug as well.
Ella sat down with a sigh, “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the tube is not my friend.” You shared a knowing look with your girlfriend before you both chuckled, Ella and tubes didn’t go together, and she would complain about them every single time. Alessia and Vick had offered to get a studio in Manchester and make the trip over, but Ella insisted that it was more practical if only one person would have to travel. Yet, she often brought her boyfriend with her, so the one person only rule rarely applied. Either way, it was always great when Ella was in town.
“Is Leah not here yet?” You shake your head, “You know my sister, always a busy schedule.” The two Lionesses nodded in agreement, “She said she’d join us when her meeting was done though.”
Just when your food was delivered to the table, Leah made her way through the door. “Sorry I’m late.” You all greet her with a hug and wave off her apologies. The four of you were having a great time chatting over breakfast, when both Alessia’s and Ella’s phones buzzed at the same time. It was a message from Vick, letting them know that she’s sick to the point where she has lost her voice, so she won’t be able to make it to the shoot.
While Alessia and Ella started discussing their options, you were thinking. “I can host it.” Three pairs of eyes met you in question. “Come on, it will be fun! I know all of you, and the fans know me as well.” It didn’t take much to convince them of your idea.
“Hello and welcome to this very special episode of The Tooney and Russo Show with me not Vick Hope.” Alessia and Ella cheered excitedly and Alessia announced “It’s the season finale!”
“As you can hear and see, I am not Vick. Sadly Vick had to miss out because she’s sick, but I am here to step in. My name is Y/n Williamson, and yes the last name should tell you all you need to know. Speaking of Williamson’s, I am not the only one of them here today. My sister, Captain of the Lionesses, Leah Williamson is our guest for this episode.”
The four of you chat for a bit about the relationship with Leah on and off the pitch. It was an easy environment and it felt like it was just a chat between friends, which of course really it was.
“Oh and before any of you start saying Tooney is the third wheel because Y/n is my girlfriend and Leah’s sister.” She looked between the two of you with a chuckle, “Let me tell you that those two are like the same person.”
“They really are.” Leah chimes in. “Sometimes when I see Y/n with Ella and Alessia, I think she might be dating Ella instead.”
“In another life.” You joke, getting a laugh out of the Lionesses trio. “Yeah, we are pretty similar. We have the same sense of humour, and have a lot of the same opinions on things. When Less started dating her, I was afraid that maybe my bond with Less would be affected, but I think Y/n made us even closer.”
“Yeah, sometimes I even feel like the third wheel with them.” Alessia laughs. “But you love it.” Ella says in defence. “Yeah I do, I’m glad the two of you get along so well.”
“At this point, I think we annoy Leah and Alessia equally.” You say proudly, and Ella agrees with you. ”You two are a nightmare when you team up against us.” Leah says teasingly. “But we love you.” Alessia follows up quickly.
When everyone was done laughing you moved onto the next topic. You asked about them winning the Euros and how football changed in England after, and how Alessia’s move from United to Arsenal was through the perspective of her former and new club teammate.
“I actually had a question for you, Y/n.” Ella put out into the group. “What’s it like having the England captain, the woman that is the face of English football, as your sister?”
“That is an interesting question actually. I admire her for everything she has done and is doing, and I am so proud of her and to be her sister, but at home she’s just my sister. We still argue about who gets the last ham sandwich, and who took the last cookie from the jar.” You joke.”
“Oh yeah,” Alessia hooks on, “The love for ham sandwiches runs in the family, it’s not just Leah.”
“I’ve got another question!” Ella perks up. You chuckle, “If you wanted to host, you could’ve just said so.” She sends you a challenging look, before biting back. “Wouldn’t have to if you did your job right.” You chuckle, “Okay fine, you win this one. What’s your question?”
“Well, I know the story, but I’ve seen some comments from fans wanting to hear how Less and Y/n got together, with Leah being Less her captain and all.” You glance at Alessia, letting her speak for the both of you.
“Oh that is an interesting one. Many people think Leah wouldn’t have liked us getting together, but she actually told me to ask Y/n out.” Leah nodded, “Yeah, they kept looking at each other with heart eyes, and I couldn’t take their pining any longer. Every time I was trying to eat my ham sandwich in peace, they would just be all gross.”
You raised your shoulders, “Even I was shocked when Less told me that Leah approved. Now it makes sense though. Leah has always protected me and Jacob, and wants us to be happy. She knows Less and knew that she would treat me right.”
“Alright alright, we get it love birds, don’t ruin my appetite for lunch with your sappiness.” Leah jokes. “Speaking of lunch, I think we’re about ready to go have some. Thank you everyone who has stuck with the Tooney and Russo Show all season, personally I cannot wait for them to start on another season. As always, send in your questions and it could be featured in one of the next episodes!”
As you finished your sentence, the three girls waved to the camera and said bye. The cameras and microphones got turned off, and that concluded the first season of the podcast. “That was so fun!” Leah agreed, “Yeah, thank you so much for letting me be a part of this.”
After the four finished lunch, you went your separate ways again. You and Alessia made your way home, her hand in yours as you strolled the streets. “You were a natural, darling.” You smiled, “Yeah? It was a lot of fun, thank you for allowing me to join you.”
“Mhm! Vick might fear for her job when she sees the episode.” Your girlfriend jokes with a little nudge to your shoulder. “Hmm, as much as I loved hosting, Vick is a much better host. Plus that way I can just sit behind the scenes and look at you with heart eyes all episode.

I Hate Her
Leah Williamson x reader Warnings: None
You had played as a centre back since you were six years old and asked to play on the Under 10s boys team. Your dream had been set from then, you wanted to play professional you wanted to play for England.
You sign your first academy contract for Manchester United a year later but continue to play for your local team wanting to practice and play as much as you could in hopes of someday making the England team.
You get a call up to your first youth England squad at 13, to say your excited is an understatement only you spend the entire camp on the bench as Leah Williamson is picked over you to start, the Arsenal academy player, future Arsenal player. Leah stared at you as she walked past the bench "Maybe they'll choose you next time." You decide then and there that you hate her.
United don’t have a women’s team and so you sign with Blackburn Rovers just before your 17th birthday. You love it Blackburn have given you everything you’ve wanted your their starting Centre Back, they see how hard you work and it pays off in the England Youth camps, you make your debut against Spain, Leah’s sick for the debut and you can’t help but repeat that in your head, that’s why your being picked not because ur better.
United form a Women’s team to take part in the championship in 2018 which is perfect for your because your contract with Blackburn Rovers ends and your free to sign with your childhood club in the summer.
It’s Leah’s turn to hate you when instead of joining the U23s camp you get called up to the Senior squad for a camp. You, your on a championship team that only got formed this season, you who has only been chosen over her a handful of times and now Phil Neville thinks your better then her, hardly.
Joining the senior squad felt surreal. Familiar faces like Lucy Bronze and Steph Houghton greeted you with genuine warmth. During training sessions, you pushed yourself to the absolute limit, determined to prove your place wasn't a lucky break. The coaches, Phil Neville included, seemed impressed. They challenged you , tested your tactical awareness, your ability to lead the defense under pressure. It wasn't easy, but you held your own, fueled by that quiet fire within.
One evening, Neville called you into his office. Your heart hammered a frantic rhythm against your ribs. Were you getting sent home? But no, his words were unexpected. "You've got something special, kid," he said, a glint in his eye. "A raw talent, a hunger I haven't seen in a while. We're planning a friendly against Germany next month. Be ready."
News of your potential debut spread like wildfire. Back home, your family erupted in cheers. Blackburn fans were ecstatic, their underdog defender on the cusp of playing on the biggest stage. But the media frenzy was a different story. Headlines screamed "Unproven youngster" and "Neville's gamble." The narrative remained the same - you were the fluke, the temporary blip in Leah's meteoric rise.
That night, staring at the ceiling of your hotel room, a fierce determination took hold. This wasn't just about proving yourself to the coaches or the media. This was about proving it to Leah, to everyone who doubted you. This was about carving your own path, a path that wouldn't be defined by being "better" than Leah Williamson, but by becoming the best damn defender England had ever seen.
You come on against Germany in the 89th minute, you know then and there that u are going to have to fight for your life every time you want to make it on to the pitch for England either over Leah or along side her you will have to fight.
And fight you do.
The following months were a whirlwind. You were in and out of the senior squad, each call-up a hard-fought battle. Leah was a constant shadow, a relentless competitor. You pushed each other to new heights, your growth fueled by the desire to outshine the other.
The 2019 World Cup was on the horizon, and the competition for places was fiercer than ever. You were on the cusp, but the final squad selection was a knife-edge. Days turned into nights as you waited for the dreaded or the desired call. When it finally came, your heart pounded with a mix of joy and disbelief. You were in. But so was Leah.
The World Cup was a dream realized, a tournament that would define careers. You played your part, even it was for less minutes then you would have liked (It was still more than what Leah had been given.) solid in defense, a calm presence in the face of adversity. England's journey was a rollercoaster of emotions, culminating in a heart-stopping final game for third place against Sweden.
The bronze medal match was a bitter pill to swallow. A valiant effort, but ultimately falling short. The weight of the loss hung heavy in the dressing room, a stark contrast to the jubilant scenes from the other side.
You had cursed at yourself in the eleventh minute as Asllani out ran you and sloted the ball past Telford, Steph had come over tapping your back whispering that it was ok it was one goal as Alex and Lucy followed both squeezing your arms as you all walked to reseat, you quickly turn to telford letting out a small sorry, to which she shakes her head sending you a thumbs up before you turn as Ellen White starts the game back up.
You hoped that Asllani's goal would be your one and only but Jakobsson makes a run in the twenty second minute and this time you make sure you catch her running in front of the swedish player you slide infront trying to cut her off but she breaks left and you can do nothing but sit on the ground and watch as she rolls it into the back left corner. You fall back hands covering your face. It's Lucys turn to pick you up "Your trying your best, you corrected your last mistake by being on it more." You shook your head "Yeah but she still scored." Lucy sighed knowing she wasn't going to break through the doubt that was bubbling in your head instead she pulled you into a hug and headed back into position, as you once again turned to Telford who before you could even open your mouth was already shouting at you "It's ok kid, you tried." you dropped your head nodding just as the ref blew the whistle to restart the game.
You came off at half-time for Rachel Daly, you had refused to speak to anyone, you had refused to join in on the celbrations in the thirty-first minute as Fran Kirby scorded but now as you walked down the tunnel you tried to shake all those feeling, you had played in your first World Cup, you had played 45 minutes in a tough match, you were good enough for Phil Neville to think you belonged there.
Those thoughts came crashing down as Leah walked past you hitting into you harshly.
Leah's harsh collision sent a jolt of pain through your already bruised ego. You stumbled backward, your breath catching in your throat. Her eyes, cold and calculating, held a mixture of contempt and something else, a flicker of something you couldn't quite decipher.
You spun around, your face flushed. "What the hell was that for?" you demanded, your voice laced with disbelief.
Leah's eyes narrowed, her expression a mix of defiance and something else you couldn't quite decipher. "You were out of position," she snapped, her voice barely above a whisper in the echoing tunnel. "Two goals down, and you're daydreaming."
The accusation stung, but you refused to back down. "I was trying to cover," you retorted, your voice rising. "It's not like I wanted them to score."
A tense silence fell between you, the only sound the distant cheers of the crowd filtering down the tunnel. You could feel the heat rising to your cheeks, a familiar sensation of being under scrutiny.
"I wouldn't have let them through." You walk towards her your finger poking her chest "Yet he didn't even give you the chance, he chose me over you."

Authors Note: tbh not tiktok people but we thought this was a cute prompt. this is my first fic ever, pls enjoy! -🦷
Tumblr media
You set your phone up on the bathroom counter while Mason adjusts his hair in the mirror.
“What are we doing again,” he mumbles, distracted by a patch of spiky hair.
“The we listen and we don’t judge thing,” you say as you adjust the phone, “people have been requesting it in my comments for weeks.” He nods, turning to kiss your cheek as you press record.
“We listen and we don’t judge,” You clasp your hands together. “Mase, we have to say it together!”
He throws his hands up, breaking into a small smile. You turn back to the camera, “Okay, I’ll go first.”
You turn to the camera and whisper conspiratorially, “Sometimes, when you’re at physio, I let the puppy on the couch.” He breaks into laughter, the two of you just barely managing to choke out “We listen and we don’t judge.”
Mason clears his throat and tries to supress a smile, “Sometimes instead of separating the laundry, I throw it all in at once.”
“Is that why my socks are pink?” You say in fake indignation.
“We listen and we don’t judge,” the two of you chorus. Trying to remain composed, you choke out, “Sometimes when you talk about golf, I think about what we’re eating for dinner instead.”
He turns to you with an overexaggerated pout, pausing to think for a moment. He turns away from you sheepishly, “One time while I was putting the dishes away, I broke two of your wine glasses and never told you.”
Your eyes widen and you turn towards him, “You told me they were at the back of the cabinet!”
“I’ll replace them eventually!” He protests, trying to wrap an arm around you. Looking at him with fake annoyance, you spit out, “Sometimes I eat in the bed when you aren’t home.”
At this, he looks at you horrified, “Babe, that’s disgusting…” You turn and hide your face. He takes this chance to say, “Sometimes after I put on my shoes and I forget something, I walk through the house with them on.” You whip your head around, your jaw dropped, “Mase!”
The two of you break out laughing, his arms wrapping around you, the video long forgotten.

All you need to do is look at her and she knows
She knows exactly how you feel and exactly what you need
She’ll wrap you up tight in her arms and just hold you tight
Telling you that your okay, your safe here in her arms and she’d never let anything hurt you
She’s just holding you in her lap letting you tuck your face into her neck and breathe her in
She’ll rub your back gently and place kisses to your shoulder or head
She’ll put ur comfort movie or show on
Even if she doesn’t like it
Even if its just background noise to you
Because rn is about you
She’ll make or order in your favourite food to eat while you cuddle and watch it.
If she senses you need to slip into a subspace then she gently takes your clothes off
She’ll spread your legs gently as you lean back against her eyes shutting as u relax in her arms
She’ll gently rub at your clit and kiss your neck whispering soft praises and sweet words
Working in her fingers till shes softly fingering you and thumbing your clit
She brings you to orgasm softly again and again and again
All the while praising and reassuring you
If you need even more to fall into headspace she’ll slip her sweats off and guide her cock in.
You can choice to stay leaning back into her or move so your straddling her face tucked back into her neck
She’ll shuffle you both slightly so she can gently thrust up into you.
She’ll guide you through more orgasms until your knotted on her cock deep into omegaspace
Then she kisses your head and wraps a blanket over you
Softly rumbling back as you purr drifting to sleep in her arms.

I need more stories about Mason Mount. Maybe about him feeling insecure after getting injured again and becoming distant with his close family
Spilled Thoughts~Mason Mount

y/n turned the tv off as Mason was subbed off with yet another injury. She dropped on the couch with a sigh, the image of her boyfriend’s devastated face plastered in the back of her mind.
She remembered how excited he was in the morning for this match, having his first start after a while. But now 15 minutes through the match, he was down on the pitch.
Two hours later, Mason finally arrived, dropping his bag on the floor and closing the door gently behind him.
She quickly stood up when he entered the living room, his smile weak and his body tense.
“Masey…” she started, but he quickly shook his head, his gaze shifting to the floor.
“Please, just…hold me?” his voice was vulnerable and raw, and she could swear she saw his eyes tearing up.
She nodded, putting her hand out for him to hold. She pulled him down with her on the couch, his head immediately resting on her shoulder and arms around her waist, while she brushed her fingers through the short strands of his hair.
She waited for him to say anything, hoping he would open up and speak about the feelings he has been bottling up in him. But a few minutes later, she felt his weight heavier on her, his breathing more calm and steady.
She looked down at him, how his eyelashes brushed against his cheeks, his lips in a small pout. As she stared at him more, she noticed something. A single tear at the bottom of his cheek. She felt her eyes tearing up as she wiped the tear of his cheek, pressing a faint cheek in the same spot.
“It’ll get better, Masey” she mumbled against his hair, kissing the crown of his head. “I promise”
Tumblr media
A few days have passed since Mason’s injury, and he has already started working on his recovery. But he hasn’t been the same since then. He hasn’t been physically distant, quite the opposite actually.
He was always lingering by her side, never pulling away from hugs until she did it first. It just seems like he was keeping too much inside, that he wasn’t speaking much.
y/n didn’t want to pressure him into talking about what’s bothering him, but the phone call from his mom changed that.
“Mason hasn’t called in a while, is everything okay?” Debbie asked, her vice laced with worry.
y/n was surprised. This wasn’t the first time Mason became more reserved after an injury, but it was the first time he was distant to his family, the people he loved the most.
She didn’t want to worry his mom about him and saying she didn’t know the reason behind him closing off so she said, “it’s just with his injury and the recovery he’s been a bit busy, you know?”
“oh…I get it, I was just worried. Take care of him honey” Debbie said, making her smile
“Always. Have a great day” she said before hanging up.
Just as she placed the phone down on the coffee table, the front door opened and Mason appeared.
“Hey handsome” she stepped closer as he took off his shoes. He looked up at her, his smile small but genuine.
“Hey darling” he murmured, leaning closer and pulling her into a hug. She hugged him back tighter, not daring to pull back first.
They stood for a while by the door, in the comfort of each other's arms. When they pulled away, she couldn’t help but let the question slip off her lips.
“Is everything okay?” she asked carefully. Mason’s face twisted in confusion.
“Yeah…why?” he asked slowly. She let out a sigh, reaching over to play with the string of his hoodie.
“Your mom called,” she said, not looking up at him. She felt him take a deep breath before replying, “What did she say?”
“She said that you haven’t talked to her in a while. Why?” she looked up at him, watching how the guiltiness and sadness found their way back to his face.
She felt her heart crack at his pained expression, her fingers grazing his forehead to smooth away the crease of his frown.
“I just…forgot” he said hesitantly, making her look at him with a knowing look that made him sigh.
“Talk to me, Masey. It’s not just your mom you’re not talking to, your friends, your teammates, even me. You haven’t talked to me properly since your injury. Let me help you baby, you can’t be carrying this weight on your own,” she said gently, trying not to push him too much, but she needed to know what’s wrong.
Mason smiled sadly, before pulling her by her hand to their living room. As they settled on the couch, she waited patiently for him to speak, giving his hand a reassuring squeeze that made him smile for a second.
“It’s just everything you know?” he said in a low voice, his eyes glued at their intertwined hands.
“The fans, the team, the coach, and then the injuries just make it worse. Everyone hates me cause I can’t seem to play two consecutive matches without getting injured. And for some reason my body can’t just fully recover so I can go back to my usual self. I just miss how it was before I was betrayed by my own body. I really just wanted to prove myself that I’m worth this number 7 in United but for some reason everything is going against me” he let out a long sigh as he blurted out all his insecurities and fears.
y/n couldn’t help the tears in her eyes as she listened to his shaky voice talking bad about himself.
“Masey…” she started, making him look at her, his heart dropping at the sight of her tears. “Your body hasn't betrayed you baby. You just haven’t adapted well with this move but that doesn’t mean you’re not worth playing at United. Everyone is excited for you to be back on the field and to show them the real Mason Mount that was once Chelsea’s golden boy. Your time will come sweetheart, you just have to be patient with yourself and work harder to be back stronger than ever. I’m so proud of you and of everything you’ve done. Never forget that” she said, never breaking eye contact with him.
Mason smiled softly, his hand squeezing hers as a way of thanking her.
“I don’t know what I’d do without you” he murmured, his other hand brushing against her cheek gently.
“You’ll never have to know. You’re stuck with me forever Mount” she joked, making him chuckle.
“I love you so much darling. I know I haven’t told you that a lot recently but I really do,” he said with guilt.
“I love you more honey. I know you’re going through a rough time but I’m always gonna be here to help you” she assured him, leaning her face against his hand.
Mason gave her another smile, before lowering his head and capturing her lips in a kiss. A way for him to tell her how grateful he is to have her by his side as his girl and number one supporter.

Could you write something with Grace Clinton? Maybe where she and reader have an argument and it takes talking about it with celine for grace to realise what started the argument maybe it was like lack of communication or something and Grace apologises big time for it
unsaid | grace clinton
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
masterlist
it was just something small. something so minor that in hindsight, grace wouldn't even be able to remember the exact words.
she'd come home late — again. you'd been waiting up for her, eager to just spend some time together after what felt like days of barely seeing her.
but as she finally walked through the door, kicking off her shoes and sighed like she was carrying the weight of the wold on her shoulder. you tried to greet her, tried to ask her about her day.
"not now." she mumbled, heading straight for the bedroom without so much as a second glance.
and that was it, the final straw.
"not now?" you echoed, standing up from the couch. "grace, it's never now with you recently."
grace paused mid-step, her shoulders tensing as she looked at you. "come on, don't start—"
"no, actually, i think i will start," you snapped, arms crossing. your lips turning into a deep scowl "because you clearly won't."
she turned around, exhaustion evident in her features but you would having that as an excuse, again. "i'm tired. i just—can this not wait?"
"tired?" you let out a harsh bitter laugh. "i get that you're busy, but you barely talk to me anymore. do you know the last time we had an actual conversation that wasn't just me asking how your day was and you grunting in response?"
grace exhaled sharply. "this is exactly why i didn't want to do this tonight."
"oh, 'm so sorry for inconveniencing you with my emotions, grace."
her jaw clenched, frustration rising to meet yours. "that not what i meant, and you know it."
"do i?" you shot back quickly. "because from where i'm standing, it kinda feels like you don't care."
that clearly struck a nerve. grace’s eyes darkened slightly, and she scoffed moving from one foot to the other. "that's ridiculous."
"is it?" grace didn't respond. she didn't even try to argue her case. instead she just stood there, looking at you like she didn't know what to say.
and that hurt more than anything.
"forget it," you muttered, shaking your head before turning away. "just—forget it. doesn't matter anyway.
grace let out a frustrated sigh, running a hand through her hair. but she didn't follow you, she didn't try to fix it and that was the problem.
the next day, grace sat in the locker room, aggressively untying her boots like they'd personally offended her this morning.
celine, already changed and leaning back on the bench as she fidgeted with her fitness tracking from hand to hand. recognised graces' unusual tenseness, raising an eyebrow in curiosity. "alright. whose pissed in your cereal?"
grace shot her a look that told all. "no one."
celine just snorted, not believing grace for even a second. "liar. you've got that face."
"what face?"
"the 'i had a fight with my girlfriend and now i'm brooding like the main character in a bad romance novel' face."
grace groaned, sometimes she hated how well the norwegian girl knew her and could read her like a book as she let her head drop back against the locker. "it was stupid."
celine hummed. "was it, though? or are you just saying that because you don't wanna admit you were wrong?"
grace scoffed. "i wasn't—" she stopped, catching the way celine just stared at her, unconvinced.
grace sighed. "fine. maybe i was a little wrong."
celine clapped dramatically. "wow! she admits it, folks! this is a historic moment!" grace rolled her eyes but couldn't help the small smile tugging at her lips.
"what happened?" celine pressed, leaning in like this was her favorite soap opera.
grace hesitated. "i... i guess i've been distant. i've just had so much going on, and by the time i get home, i just don't have the energy to talk."
celine nodded. "alright, fair. but did you tell her that?" grace blinked, hard and wide. celine smirking "yeah, that's what i thought.”
"i didn't mean to shut her out," grace mumbled as she fidgeted with her own fitness tracker. "i just figured she knew i was busy."
"yeah, because girlfriends are totally mind-readers," celine deadpanned. "you don't get to just assume she knows what's going on in your head. communication, clinton. it's this crazy thing where you talk about your feelings instead of bottling them up until they explode into a full-blown argument."
grace groaned, covering her face. "i hate when you're right.”
"i know you do," celine said smugly. "but lucky for you, i always am."
grace sighed, pushing herself up. "i should probably fix this, huh?"
celine grinned. "now you're catching on!"
that evening, when grace walked into the apartment, she found you curled up on the couch, scrolling through your phone. you didn't even look up when she entered.
that stung more than she expected, leaving an ache in her heart even though she knew she kind of deserved it.
she hesitated before walking over, sitting down beside you. you didn't move away, but you also didn't lean into her like you normally would. that was enough to make her heart ache just that little bit more.
she reached for your hand, gently intertwining her fingers with yours.
"i'm sorry," she said softly, her voice filled with genuine regret. "i should've talked to you. i should've let you in instead of pushing you away." you didn't pull away, but you stayed quiet, waiting for her to continue.
"i never meant to make you feel like you weren't important," she murmured. "you are. more than anything to me and i know i've been distant, but it's not because i don't care. i do. so much, more than i can even put into words."
you swallowed, finally looking at her. "then why didn't you just tell me?"
grace exhaled, her thumb brushing over your knuckles. "'cause i'm an idiot?" you gave her a look not giving anything away that she was fully forgiven, and she cracked a small, sheepish smile.
"because i get caught up in everything, and sometimes i forget that i don't have to handle it all alone," she corrected. "and that's not fair to you. i should've just talked to you instead of expecting you to just know what i was thinking."
you sighed, your frustration easing just a little. "i just missed you, grace."
she shifted closer, resting her forehead against yours. "i missed you too, so much." for a moment, you just stayed like that—breathing each other in, the tension melting away.
then grace whispered, "can i kiss you now? or do i have to endure more of celine's wisdom before i'm forgiven?" a laugh bubbled out of you before you could stop it, and grace grinned, nudging your nose with hers.
"you're an idiot," you murmured. "but i'm your idiot," she said, before finally closing the distance.
the kiss was slow, unhurried. it wasn't rushed or desperate, but rather, full of intention. grace kissed you like she was making up for every second she had spent away, like she was trying to tell you everything she hadn't been able to put into words.
her hands cupped your face, her thumbs brushing over your cheeks, grounding you in her touch. you melted into her, the warmth of her body seeping into yours, chasing away any lingering doubt.
when she finally pulled back, her forehead rested against yours, her breath mingling with yours in the quiet space between you.
"i love you," she whispered, her voice barely audible but carrying the weight of everything she felt.
you smiled, pressing a lingering kiss to the corner of her lips. "i love you too." and just like that, everything felt right again.

MASON REQUEST!!!
Could you write one where him and y/n get caught or overheard if u know what I mean
Tumblr media
thin walls
pairing: mason mount x reader
summary: in which the villa you’re sharing with declan and lauren has very thin walls
warnings: VERY suggestive and almost smut
taglist: @barcapix, @universefcb, @joaosnovia, @ilovebarcaaaa, lmk if you want to be added!
a/n: not my best work :/ sorry love
Tumblr media
the first thing you registered was the sunlight creeping through the thin curtains. the second was the ache in your legs.
the third… was laughter. loud, unfiltered, and far too smug for 8:00 a.m.
you groaned, rolling over to press your face into mason’s bare shoulder. he hummed sleepily and tugged you closer.
“they’re already up,” you mumbled.
“yeah,” he said, his voice still thick with sleep. “and judging by that laugh, they definitely heard.”
you froze for a second, heart sinking. “…you don’t think—”
“babe.” mason cracked one eye open, his hair a soft mess and his face still warm with sleep. “you literally said my name. like… screamed it.”
you flopped back onto your pillow, covering your face with both hands. “i want to die.”
“same,” he muttered, dragging a pillow over his face. “declan’s never gonna let me live this down.”
before either of you could spiral further, a knock landed on the door.
“mornin’, lovers,” declan’s voice rang out, far too cheerful for someone who had definitely just spent the night on the other side of a paper-thin wall. “hope you two got some rest… though, from the sound of it…”
mason let out a muffled groan from under the pillow.
you reached for the sheets, pulling them higher like they could protect you from the sheer embarrassment.
“you alright in there?” lauren’s voice chimed in next, teasing and sweet. “do we need to bring breakfast to you? or are your legs still working?”
you buried your face in mason’s chest and whispered, “i hate them.”
“same,” he whispered back, wrapping his arms around you. “but also… kinda proud of myself.”
you rolled your eyes, laughing against his skin. “of course you are.”
at breakfast
the kitchen was cozy and sunlit, the smell of toast and coffee filling the air. but none of that warmth compared to the heat on your cheeks as soon as you walked in.
declan was already grinning. lauren tried to keep a straight face, but one look at you and mason, and she burst out laughing again.
“good of you to join us,” declan said, leaning back in his chair with a smug tilt to his mouth. “we were starting to worry. didn’t know if you’d, y’know… be able to walk.”
mason didn’t say anything. just sat down across from him with a murderous glare and reached for the coffee like it was the only thing keeping him alive.
you slid into the seat next to him and tried to pretend the table wasn’t radiating secondhand embarrassment.
“look,” lauren said, still grinning, “all i’m saying is—thin walls. very thin.”
“traumatising,” declan added. “i had to hold lauren back from knocking on the wall.”
“declan!” you groaned, hiding your face in your hands again.
mason just muttered, “i need new friends.”
“you say that,” declan said, smirking as he took a sip of orange juice, “but you’re clearly too busy with her to go friend shopping.”
even mason couldn’t hold back the laugh that time.
you gave him a look. “don’t encourage him.”
“sorry,” he said, still smiling. “but that was kinda funny.”
later that evening
you were curled up on the couch in the living room, blanket over your legs and mason’s arm draped around your shoulders. declan and lauren were playing cards at the dining table, still giggling every so often like children with a secret.
“we need revenge,” you whispered.
“i know,” mason said. “i’m already working on it.”
you tilted your head. “oh yeah?”
he looked down at you with that familiar glint in his eyes. “next time they’re staying at ours… i’m buying a bluetooth speaker.”
you laughed. “you’re evil.”
he kissed your temple. “you love it.”
bonus:
friday – 11:48 p.m.
you knew the second mason mouthed “come here” from the bathroom doorway, shirtless and towel slung low around his hips, that sleep wasn’t happening anytime soon.
“mase,” you said, already breathless as he pulled you into him, “they’re literally down the hall.”
“then you’ll have to be quiet, yeah?” he murmured, hand slipping beneath the hem of your sleep shirt — his, obviously — as his lips brushed your neck. “we wouldn’t want them hearing how good i make you feel.”
you bit your lip, trying not to shiver as his fingers skimmed the inside of your thigh. “you’re such a menace.”
he smiled against your skin. “and yet, you keep coming back.”
you barely made it to the bed before he had you tangled in sheets, one hand pinning yours above your head, the other slipping under your waistband with the kind of slow confidence that comes with years of knowing exactly how to unravel you.
his voice was low, deep in your ear — “this all for me, baby?” — and you didn’t even try to keep the sound from your throat as his fingers traced just right.
he kissed you quiet. you wrapped your legs around his waist.
somewhere in the haze, he growled, “you’re not gonna last five minutes.”
you almost proved him wrong.
almost.
until—
creak.
click.
“hey, have either of you seen my—OH MY FUCKING GOD—”
you both froze.
mason’s head whipped around. you grabbed the sheet like your life depended on it.
“DEC?!” mason barked, half-naked, very much still inside your personal space.
“I DIDN’T KNOW—I—WHY ARE YOU—THE SHEET WAS MOVING—I NEED HOLY WATER—”
“GET OUT!” you and mason screamed in unison.
the door slammed. you heard a bang (probably his head hitting the wall in blind panic).
then dead silence.
you stared at the ceiling, mortified, chest still heaving from not the walk-in.
mason let out a shaky laugh. “we’re gonna have to burn this house down.”
you buried your face in his shoulder. “we can never show our faces again.”
“…was still kind of hot though.”
“mason!”
saturday – 9:30 a.m. – the kitchen
declan sat nursing his tea like it was medicinal.
you and mason strolled in like nothing happened. you in a smug hoodie and absolutely no shame. mason in sweats, shirtless, hair still messy.
“morning,” he said, biting into toast.
declan didn’t look up. “you two are demons.”
“why were you even up?” mason asked, innocent.
“i was looking for my charger,” he said, haunted. “and now i need a new set of eyeballs. and a therapist.”
lauren walked in and clocked the vibe immediately. “he walked in, didn’t he?”
you just nodded, sipping your coffee.
“oh, dec,” lauren sighed. “you never open their door. they’re feral.”
“i saw movement,” he said, staring into the distance. “her legs. his hand. the noises. the way he looked at me like I was the intruder.”
mason grinned. “you were.”
you leaned into the counter, stretching slightly — and yes, his eyes definitely dropped to the strip of skin at your hip. subtle. but there.
declan clocked it. “you’re doing it again. right in front of me.”
“what?” mason said innocently, licking a bit of jam off his thumb. “we’re just affectionate.”
“you were inside her less than twelve hours ago.”
“that’s love, mate,” mason said with a wink.
you raised your mug in cheers. “deep, committed love.”
declan stood up. “i’m gonna go walk into traffic.”
bonus 2:
two days later, a package arrived at your flat.
a note inside read:
*“here’s something to stop future trauma. love, your *scarred* best friend.”*
inside was a heavy-duty door lock and a white noise machine.
you sent back a voice note: “we’ll still be loud. x”
declan hasn’t responded since.

heyy, how are you? :) so, since it's father's day here in brazil, i decided to do something cute for this special day
REMEMBER: english is not my first language
fluff word count: 2k
this is a bonus of pinky promise with mason and olivia, you can read it separately if you want.
✦‎۟    ࣭   ⊹
“But am I your favorite? You need to tell me.” Olivia asked Mason. You were working and they were watching Barbie and the Three Musketeers for the second time, as Olivia had become obsessed with the movie, but now she started to get bored and started asking Mason random questions.
“Yes, you are my favorite, you know that.” Mason was paying attention to the movie, unlike Olivia.
“But you have other nieces, you swear to me that I am your favorite?” She stood up from the mattress they had placed on the living room floor, then looked at Mason with her hands on her hips and a serious expression on her face.
“I swear to you, pumpkin.” You smiled to yourself watching the two interact.
It had been three months since you and Mason had been together, and just like his promise, you were happy, but most importantly, Olivia was happy, and that was enough. It took you a while to tell her that you were dating Uncle Mason, but trips to Manchester were frequent or Mason would show up in London and sleep at your house even if he has to leave the next morning.
“Don't be jealous, Summer is your friend and Mason is her uncle.” You said, still paying attention to the computer in front of you. Olivia left Mason and went to you, holding your neck in a hug while he was still watching the movie.
“I know, mum, but I like Mase and I want him to like me too.” She whispered, so you laughed.
“He loves you, Olivia, you know that.” You squeezed her cheek, leaving a kiss on her nose, which was a little red from the cold. Ever since you and Mason told her you were together, she stopped calling him "Uncle Masey", just because she understood that he was now her stepfather, but Mason said he had no problem being called Uncle Mason, because he was already used to it. “Go put on a coat, you're freezing.”
You traveled to Manchester and would spend the weekend with Mason, also taking advantage of the fact that the game on Sunday would be at Old Trafford and you would be able to see Mason play. Olivia loved the days you guys traveled as she would spend time away from home and get to know new places with you.
Not to mention the fact that Mason decorated a room for her, exactly the way she wanted. You didn't know it, but Mason and Olivia had already talked about the decoration and when you arrived one weekend, you found a decorated room. Olivia almost cried when she saw the room the way she asked.
The room was white with pink details, butterfly drawings on the wall and a huge bed just like Olivia always asked for. Mason even put a desk for her to study and a small bookshelf with some interesting books for children. It was much better than her room in your apartment in London, and that's why it was always hard to go home when she had so many comforts in Manchester.
Mason spoils her too much, and she is getting used to this life very easily.
“Mum, can you help me take a shower?” Olivia asked quietly, so you agreed and closed your computer, walking her upstairs to help her bathe. Olivia is an independent child, but sometimes lazy and most of the time she would ask you to help her so she wouldn't have to do everything alone. Plus, the bathroom in Mason's house is different, so she can never get the water to the temperature she wants.
“Have you and Mason picked out dinner yet?” You asked as you helped her take off the coats she was wearing. Even with the house being heated, Olivia liked to stay warm.
“Mase said we can order pizza.” She walked past you and stepped into the hot, running water of the shower. You grabbed her shampoo that Mason had bought just for her to use, as well as her favorite strawberry soap.
Mason has always been attentive to Olivia, he never stopped listening to what she likes, what she says, and she always felt comfortable sharing everything with him, just because Mason made her feel comfortable.
“That's a good idea. Here, shampoo your hair, do you want some help?”
“No.” Olivia was thoughtful, but the day was tiring for her, as she had fun before deciding to watch a movie with Mason. “Mum, can I ask you something?”
“Of course, honey.”
“Can I call Mason dad?”
You froze. You didn't expect that question coming from her, in fact, you never thought she liked Mason so much that she wanted to call him dad. You had only been together for three months, who would have guaranteed that you would be together forever?
“What?”
“He's your boyfriend now, mum, and I love Mason so much, I also wish I had a dad like my friends in school.”
“Babe… I don’t know, Olivia. We have to ask him about this, and what if he doesn't want to? You'll be sad about that.” You rubbed Olivia's hair as she played with the water that was falling on her.
“Oh, yes, but what if he wants me to call him dad?” She looked at you with teary eyes, and you were touched to realize that she really wanted Mason's presence in her life.
You always thought you could fill her lack of a father, but realizing now, Mason was always there for her, just like Robert.
“Oh, babe, why did you never tell me anything about this?” You knelt down and didn't care about getting your clothes wet. Olivia came up to you with her hair full of foam, and she placed her hands on your face.
“I don't want you to think I'm sad. You're the best mommy in the world, but Mase would be a cool daddy too.” It would be a lie to say you didn't want to cry about it.
“We'll ask him then.”
✦‎۟    ࣭   ⊹
“Mase, can you get me some juice? I'm thirsty.” Olivia asked Mason, who was walking to the kitchen to set the table for you guys to have dinner, and she was lying on the mattress on the living room floor again, watching Pinocchio.
“Olivia, go get it yourself.” You scolded her, knowing that Mason does whatever she wants. You were walking down the stairs after taking a hot shower, and Mason had already ordered the pizza for you.
“I'll get it.” Mason said and walked to the kitchen, so you followed him and watched as he poured the grape juice into a glass for Olivia and took it to her. He quickly returned with the empty glass.
“You can't do everything she asks, Mason. She's taking advantage of you because you can't say “no” to her.” You were serious and Mason looked at you, shrugging.
“She just wanted some juice, love.” Mason came closer, grabbing your waist and pulling you against him. He was wearing a hoodie, just like you, and he was so warm that you just wanted to lay down next to him and sleep in the warmth.
“Yeah, juice, shampoo, bedroom, toys, shoes, clothes…”
“Guilty.” Mason laughed and you wrapped your arms around his neck, lifting your head and kissing his lips. You sighed as he deepened the kiss, and it felt so good to kiss him that you could spend hours like this, just being around him. “Hmm, I love you.”
“I love you too.” You spoke and the doorbell rang, so the two of you went to the living room while Mason went to get the pizza. Olivia stood up and held your hands, walking with you to the kitchen.
“May I ask?” She spoke quietly, knowing Mason was behind the two of you, so you nodded, giving her a smile and encouraging her.
Mason placed the pizza on the table, oblivious to Olivia's nervousness, which was now transparent. She was fidgeting with her hair and kneeling on one of the chairs, and you knew she fidgeted when she was nervous. Mason served you slices of pizza while the two of you chatted randomly, and Olivia still hadn't said anything.
“I left it reserved for you tomorrow at the game, you can stay close to Anouska, she's going with the kids there.”
You agreed, but Olivia was still nervous and wasn't eating, you were sitting next to her, so you placed your hand over hers, reassuring your little girl.
“Mase, Olivia wants to ask you something.” You spoke for her, and Mason nodded and finished chewing before looking at the two of you, paying attention to what Olivia wanted to say.
“Mom, I got nervous.” She said shyly and you smiled, running your hands over her back and rubbing. Mason had a smile on his face even though he didn't know what it was. “Mase… Hm… I want to know if- hm… I want to know if I can call you dad.”
You could see the shock cross Mason's face, because he clearly wasn't expecting this. Olivia also looked at him as he didn't look away from her for a second.
“What?” That's what he managed to say, swallowing hard.
“Only if you want to.” Olivia spoke softly, and you could tell that Mason's delay in responding made her feel insecure, and she snuggled closer to you. You looked at Mason with a small smile, knowing that it was a lot of information for someone.
“For real? You want to call me dad?” Mason asked and Olivia nodded, and you could completely see it as his eyes filled with tears and he put his hands over his eyes, trying to stop his emotion.
“I want to.” She smiled. Mason got out of his seat and walked over to her, kneeling down beside her on the floor and pulling her against him, hugging her. Olivia wrapped her arms around his neck and it was probably the most beautiful scene you had ever seen between them.
Mason had his eyes closed as he hugged her, but a huge smile on his face as you saw a tear run down his face. That's when you felt like you were crying too, because a tear fell down your leg.
“Only if I can call you my daughter too.” He whispered, but you heard. Olivia let out a loud laugh of happiness, and you felt your heart explode with so much love and happiness as you finally felt complete.
“Yes, yes.” She cheered and you smiled, then Mason let go of her and wiped his own eyes, looking at you next. She jumped into Mason's arms, ignoring the pizza she wanted so badly, and looked at you. You stood up and walked over to the two of them, so Mason wrapped an arm around your neck while holding Olivia in the other arm. “We are a family now.”
“After seven years.” Mason mumbled and you smiled, leaning in and leaving a kiss on his lips. Olivia smiled and left a kiss on Mason's cheek and yours. “Can you believe it? I have a daughter now.”
“It's a big responsibility, you know.” Mason rolled his eyes and you smiled.
“Thank you for this, really. I couldn't ask for anything better.” He spoke to you, then to Olivia and smiled at her. “I love you both, my girls.”
“I love you too, dad.” Mason's eyes filled with tears again when Olivia spoke, but he held back from letting them fall. “Mum, we need to move to Manchester, families live in the same house.”
“Hey, easy girl. One thing at a time.”
“She’s right. She can't live in London while her father lives in Manchester.”
“Calm down too, that's a topic for another time.”
“Yes, now I want pizza.” Olivia spoke and you smiled, then Mason placed her in the chair again and looked at you gratefully.
Maybe it would take you a while to move, or maybe not. No one knows what might happen the next day, but you hope things will work out forever.

It was a chilly Halloween night, with the wind whistling through the streets and carrying the crisp scent of fallen leaves. Inside an old mansion on the outskirts of Manchester, dim candle light flickered, casting eerie shadows on the walls. The grand, creaky rooms were filled with the chatter of unfamiliar faces, their costumes ranging from the elaborate to the absurd. Music thumped through the wooden floors, and costumed revelers were lost in a sea of laughter and dancing.
But Mason, still recovering from a series of injuries, felt strangely detached from it all. At a party he didn’t really want to attend, his teammates had insisted he come along, hoping to lift his spirits. They had been buoyant and energetic at first, eager to immerse themselves in the festivities, but as the night wore on, Mason found himself drifting away from them. Despite their good intentions, he felt more isolated than ever.
While everyone mingled and danced, their laughter and easy conversations seemed to belong to a world that was just out of his reach. Mason had retreated to a quiet corner of the room, nursing a drink as he watched the scene unfold around him. The contrast between their vibrant enjoyment and his own muted existence was jarring. He felt like an outsider, a ghost drifting among the living, disconnected from the energy and warmth that surrounded him.
In all honesty, he was profoundly sad, unable to escape the weight of his unfulfilled potential. Despite his high-profile transfer, his injuries had kept him from truly proving his worth on the field. Each missed match and postponed comeback only deepened his frustration. What he had envisioned as a triumphant return to the top seemed increasingly out of reach. Instead, he found himself sidelined, grappling with feelings of inadequacy and the fear that his time to shine might slip away.
In the midst of his spiraling thoughts, his gaze inadvertently fell upon her.
She stood near the back door, her angel costume strikingly detailed. Her white wings, delicate and meticulously crafted with sparkles, seemed to catch every glimmer of the low light, casting a soft glow. Her flowing dress, made of gauzy fabric, draped around her, creating a shimmering effect as she swayed to the music. Her dark hair fell in loose, damp waves around her shoulders.
Mason had noticed her from the corner of his eye earlier in the evening. At first, she had been a quiet, almost unnoticed presence among the more boisterous guests. As the night wore on, though, she had gradually come into focus. He saw her exchanging friendly nods and small, genuine smiles with those around her, her interactions marked by a warmth that contrasted sharply with the chaotic energy of the party.
Her demeanor was calm and poised, as if she was naturally attuned to the subtle rhythms of social grace. Despite the lively crowd, she seemed to float through the room with an effortless ease. Her presence an oasis of serenity that Mason envied.
In stark contrast, he felt like a mere caricature in his hastily assembled devil costume. The red horns were crooked, and the tail hung limply, clearly a last-minute addition rather than a deliberate choice.
He wanted to break free from the shadows and join her in the light. Mason's longing to connect with her was intertwined with his deeper yearning for escape from the burdens that plagued him. He wanted to share in the grace she embodied, but he was caught in his own tumultuous reality, unable to bridge the chasm that separated their worlds.
He took a deep swig of his drink, the warmth of the alcohol offering a fleeting sense of courage. Gathering his resolve, he pushed through the sea of revelers and approached her cautiously, each step heavy with a mix of curiosity and hesitation. When he was close enough, he cleared his throat, trying to sound casual.
“Hey,” he said, aiming for a nonchalant tone. “You okay?”
She looked up, momentarily surprised to see him. Her deep, soulful brown eyes revealed a trace of sadness he hadn’t noticed before, but she greeted him with a cheeky smile.
“Yeah,” she replied softly, her voice laced with playful mischief. “I’m just not really feeling the vibe tonight. It’s funny, though—feels like a devil’s been watching me all night. I guess I’m just not in the mood for the attention.” Her gaze lingered on him, amusement dancing in her eyes.
Mason couldn’t help but smile at her playful comment. “Well, I promise not to be too devilish. How about I get you another drink first? Maybe something strong enough to fend off any lingering devils.” He gestured towards the drinks table, his tone light and inviting. “Then, if you’re up for it, we can get out of here for a bit. A walk might be just what we both need.”
Her eyes brightened at the offer, and she gave him a warm, grateful smile. “That sounds perfect. I’d love a drink. Thanks.” She glanced towards the drinks table, then back at him, curiosity evident as she awaited his return.
Mason nodded and headed to the drinks table, grabbing two shot glasses filled with vodka. He returned to her, offering one of the shots with a smile. “Here you go,” he said. “A little liquid courage before we head out.”
She accepted the glass and, with a playful glint in her eye, raised it in a toast. “To escaping the chaos,” she said, her voice light but sincere.
Mason clinked his glass against hers. “To a change of scenery,” he replied, and they both took their shots simultaneously.
Without missing a beat, she tilted the glass to her lips and downed the liquor in one swift motion. The strong, burning sensation seemed to clear her head, and she let out a small, satisfied breath as she set the empty glass down.
“Much better,” she said with a hint of relief in her voice.
Mason followed suit, feeling the warmth of the vodka spread through him. “Glad you think so. Ready for that walk?” he asked, gesturing toward the door.
As they stepped out of the mansion into the cool night air, Mason noticed her shivering slightly, her costume offering little protection against the chill. Without hesitation, he removed his jacket and held it out to her.
“Here,” he said, his voice warm against the night. “You look like you could use this.”
She looked at the jacket, then up at him with a grateful smile. “Thank you,” she said softly, accepting the garment. She slipped it around her shoulders with a sigh of relief. The jacket, slightly too big for her, enveloped her in its warmth, the fabric soft and comforting against the evening’s cold.
With the jacket now draped over her, they began to walk down the empty streets. The dim street lights cast long, eerie shadows on the wet pavement, and the quiet was a stark contrast to the noisy party they had left behind. The crisp night air felt refreshing, and the occasional rustle of leaves underfoot added a gentle rhythm to their steps. The transition from the raucous indoor atmosphere to the serene garden path was a welcome change, and the soft crunch of leaves beneath their feet provided a soothing backdrop to their conversation as they walked side by side.
The rain began almost immediately, starting as a gentle drizzle that caressed their skin and soon growing into a steady shower. Mason glanced over at her, intrigued by how she seemed to blend effortlessly with the night, moving with a fluid grace as if the rain and deserted streets were part of her natural element. Her presence felt both refreshing and enigmatic. The steady shower created a quiet cocoon around them, offering a brief respite from his struggles.
Mason looked at her with a playful smile. “As much as I'd love to call you my angel,” he said with a chuckle, “I’d really like to know your real name.”
Her eyes sparkled with amusement, and she offered a warm, inviting smile. “It’s Y/N,” she replied.
“Well, Y/N,” Mason continued, trying to keep the conversation light, “what brings you to this part of town on Halloween?”
She paused, her gaze momentarily flicking to him before drifting away, as if searching for the right words. “My friend works for Man U,” she began, her voice soft and thoughtful. “She’s a PR assistant and dragged me along tonight because she thought it would be fun. I didn’t really want to come, but she insisted. Said it would be good for me to get out. Plus,” she added with a grin, gesturing to her costume, “it gave me an excuse to finally wear this. It’s been collecting dust in my closet for a while, waiting for the right occasion.”
Mason felt a flush of warmth mixed with a tinge of embarrassment at the mention of his new team, unsure if she had recognized him. “So,” he began, striving for a casual tone, “do you follow football at all, are you familiar with the team?” His curiosity got the better of him.
Her eyes sparkled as she met his gaze. “Oh, I definitely know who you are, Mason, if that’s what you’re asking,” she replied with a warm, teasing tone. “I recognized you and your friends the moment you walked in. My old friend was a huge fan of Chelsea—we used to watch your matches together all the time. I figured it was better to keep it cool around you, though.”
Mason chuckled, finding her candor refreshing. “And how’s that ‘cool’ act working out for you?” he asked with a teasing grin, feeling a rare sense of ease as their conversation flowed.
Y/N laughed, her laughter mingling with the rhythmic patter of the rain. “Not too badly, I’d say. Although,” she added with a playful smirk, “I must say it’s quite hard to stay cool when the devil is walking beside me.”
Mason smiled. “Well, I’d hate to think I’m ruining your ‘cool’ vibe,” he said, his tone playful. “But if it helps, I promise I’m actually pretty cool and down-to-earth once you get to know me.”
He glanced sideways at her, his expression softening. “Besides,” he added with a hint of sincerity, “it’s nice to have a break from the usual football talk. It’s refreshing to just be… well, me, for a change.”
They continued walking, the rain soaking through their clothes, but neither seemed to mind. The slick, soft leaves beneath their feet created a gentle, almost soothing sound as they moved. Aside from the steady rhythm of the rain, the only other sound was the rustling of foliage, adding to the serene atmosphere. Mason felt an unusual sense of tranquility, as if the weight of his worries had momentarily lifted. He glanced at Y/N, growing more intrigued by her presence by the minute.
“Well, since you know what I do,” Mason said with a grin, “it’s only fair you share what you’re up to.”
Y/N continued with a hint of excitement. “I’ve been freelancing in PR, primarily for healthcare and sports clinics lately. I’m also currently studying for my Master’s in Marketing, focusing on how to build and enhance brand identities. This visit to Manchester is, well, a chance to rediscover the city and see if it could be the right place for me. I’m hoping to find a role where I can blend my PR skills with marketing work.”
Mason’s gaze lingered on her, clearly impressed. “So, pretty and smart.”
Y/N raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile forming on her lips. “How often do you use that line?”
“Only when I’m talking to pretty and smart girls,” Mason replied with a playful grin.
Mason’s curiosity about Y/N’s ambitions grew. “Do you think you’d want to work in football, like your friend, eventually?” he asked, genuinely interested.
Y/N considered the question for a moment, her eyes catching the soft glow of the streetlights. “I hadn’t really thought about it seriously,” she admitted. “I’ve always had a passion for sports, and working in sports PR does sound intriguing. However, I’m more focused on helping organizations craft their public image in impactful ways. Still, if a compelling opportunity in sports came along, I wouldn’t completely rule it out.”
Mason nodded thoughtfully, taking in her words. “It sounds like you’re open to possibilities, which is a great mindset to have. Sometimes, the best opportunities come from unexpected places. Plus, having a passion for what you do makes all the difference.”
Y/N smiled, her expression thoughtful and appreciative. “Thanks, Mason. I guess we’ll see where my journey takes me. For now, I’m enjoying the chance to explore Manchester and see what the future holds. And, who knows? Maybe one day, I’ll find myself working on campaigns for someone like you.”
Mason threw his head back in laughter, the sound genuine and warm. “I’d be lucky to have someone as talented as you working on my brand,” he said with a grin.
He paused, his expression turning serious but sincere. “You know, if you’re really considering a move up North, I could put in a good word for you. I know people in Manchester, a little nudge from someone in the industry might be just what you need.”
Y/N’s eyes widened slightly, touched by the offer. “That’s incredibly kind of you, Mason. I really appreciate it.”
Mason gave her a reassuring smile. “Of course. Sometimes, a bit of support can make all the difference.”
They walked in companionable silence, the steady rhythm of the rain creating a soothing backdrop. Y/N eventually slowed her pace, her gaze shifting as she took in her surroundings, her expression thoughtful. After a moment, she pointed to a small, unassuming brick house a little further down the street. “I grew up there,” she said, her voice carrying a hint of nostalgia. “I haven’t been back in years.”
Mason glanced at the house. It stood quietly, the darkness of the night making its features almost indistinguishable. The windows were dark and empty, and the front yard, strewn with fallen leaves. Despite its wear, there was a subtle warmth to it, a sense of memories lingering in the chilly night air.
Mason noticed the wistful look on Y/N’s face and felt a surge of empathy. “Do you want to stop for a bit? Maybe stand by the porch before the new owners notice?” he asked gently, his tone reflecting his understanding of the significance of the moment.
She nodded, her eyes lingering on the house as if trying to piece together fragments of her past. They paused on the sidewalk, the rain continuing to fall softly around them. Mason stood beside her, offering her the space to take in the familiar yet distant sight, allowing the moment to be hers.
Y/N led him to the front steps, then took a seat on the pavement, patting the space beside her in a silent invitation. Mason, understanding her unspoken offer, settled down next to her. They sat together in the rain, the steady downpour creating a private, intimate cocoon around them. The coolness of the night contrasted with the warmth of their shared presence, as they both took solace in the quiet moment.
Mason noticed a handprint in the cement of the stairs leading to the door beside where he was sitting, weathered and faded with time. Y/N spotted it at the same moment and leaned forward to trace it with her fingers, her touch light and contemplative. As she moved closer, their proximity became more apparent, and she suddenly seemed aware of the compromising position they were in. With a soft, almost shy smile, she pulled back slightly, her cheeks flushing from both the rain and the closeness they had unexpectedly shared.
“This is where I used to live until I went off to university,” she said quietly, her voice nearly drowned out by the rain. “My parents moved back to their home country a few years ago and sold the house. I haven’t been back since. This place holds so many memories.”
She hesitated, grappling with the vulnerability of their newfound closeness. “Remember the old friend I mentioned, the one who used to watch your games with me?” Mason nodded. “He was my ex,” she continued, her voice wavering. “He was—still is—a huge Chelsea fan. We spent so much time here during high school. We were young, I thought we’d be together forever but at a certain point it became obvious it wouldn’t work out between us. We stayed in that relationship far too long, but It’s strange, really. I’m over him but being here, I guess it brings back all these memories. It’s odd to see how much has changed.”
Y/N looked down, her expression clouded with a mix of nostalgia and sadness. “Coming back here makes me realize how much has shifted in my life. It’s like I’m caught between who I thought I’d become and where I actually am. I was so full of dreams back then, but now it feels like things are less figured out than I’d hoped. It’s a reminder of how much can change, and how you can end up somewhere you never expected, I guess.”
Mason listened intently, his own sense of vulnerability rising to the surface. The rain mingled with his thoughts as he took a deep breath, trying to steady his emotions. “I get that,” he said, his tone thoughtful. “I’ve been dealing with similar feelings, sort of. My injuries and missed games have left me feeling adrift, as if my dreams and reality are worlds apart. I envisioned this triumphant return, a chance to prove myself and silence the critics. But with every setback, that vision seems to slip further away. It’s like I’m stuck between who I was and who I want to become, and finding that balance has been incredibly challenging.”
He paused, searching for the right words. “Sometimes I wonder if I’ll ever get back to where I was or if I need to chart a new path altogether. It’s hard to come to terms with feeling disconnected from what once defined you.”
Y/N looked at him with a warm, encouraging smile. “You know,” she said softly, before settling her hand on his knee, “it’s really admirable how you’re facing all of this. I believe in you and I’m confident that your comeback will be amazing. I suppose that sometimes, we have to go through these tough times before we can truly appreciate the good times.”
Mason’s lips curled into a half-smile, comforted by her words. Her eyes were filled with genuine sincerity as she continued, “Even if things seem out of reach right now, remember there are people who believe in you and are rooting for your success.”
He paused, letting her words settle in. “Thank you, Y/N,” he said sincerely. “Hearing that means more than I can say, especially right now. It’s so easy to get lost in setbacks and forget why I’m here.”
He glanced around at the rain-soaked streets, then turned his gaze back to her. “Coming back to familiar places can bring up old memories, but it also offers a chance to see how far we’ve come. It’s like reconnecting with the past while looking forward to the future.”
Y/N chuckled, raising an eyebrow playfully. “Quite the philosopher are you?” she teased, letting his words resonate.
Mason gave her a playful smirk. “And quite the conversationalist yourself. Do you normally open up so much to someone you’ve just met, or is it the rain that’s making us more candid than usual?”
Y/N glanced up, a gentle blush rising to her cheeks as she looked away, nervously adjusting the hem of his damp jacket. “I don’t usually open up like this, especially to someone I’ve just met,” she admitted, her voice soft. “I suppose the drinks have loosened my tongue quite a bit more than I intended.”
Mason’s gaze softened, and he smiled warmly. “Don’t be shy. I find it quite endearing,” he said gently.
She met his gaze, her eyes reflecting a mix of apology and vulnerability. “I guess tonight’s been a bit more revealing than I planned,” she said, her voice tinged with a hint of embarrassment. “I didn’t mean to unload all of this on you.”
Mason’s smile was warm and understanding as he responded with a gentle chuckle. “It’s okay,” he reassured her. “Sometimes, talking to someone you don’t know well— yet,” he added carefully— “can make it easier to share. And as much as I’ve enjoyed hearing about your past… if you end up spending more time here and need someone to help you make new memories in Manchester—or just to distract you from the old ones—I’m around.”
Y/N’s laughter was soft, her blush deepening but her demeanor relaxing as she looked at him with newfound ease. Her hand slipped into Mason’s, her fingers cold against his skin, but the touch was reassuring, grounding them both.
“Come on,” she said, giving his hand a gentle squeeze. “It’s getting late. Would you walk me back to my friend’s flat?”
Mason smiled warmly and nodded. “Absolutely.”
Before they stood up, Y/N leaned in close, her breath warm against Mason’s ear. “And hey,” she whispered with a playful tone, “I promise you a kiss as soon as we get there.”
Mason’s heart skipped a beat at her words, and he chuckled softly. “I’m looking forward to it,” he replied, squeezing her hand gently as they rose to their feet.
As they wandered through the quiet, rain-soaked streets, Mason found himself increasingly captivated by Y/N. Her lightheartedness and playful energy were a welcome change from the weight of his recent struggles. Despite her costume clinging damply to her frame, she seemed utterly carefree, her spirit untainted by the rain. Mason laughed more freely than he had in weeks, their conversation flowing effortlessly.
Suddenly, Y/N let go of his hand and darted ahead, twirling around with a joyous grin. Her laughter echoed through the empty streets, and Mason felt a warmth spread through him. Her exuberance was contagious, lifting him out of his own concerns.
“Hurry up, slowpoke!” she called over her shoulder, her voice vibrant with challenge.
Mason quickened his pace, his grin widening. “Why should I hurry?” he teased.
Y/N’s eyes sparkled with mischief. “Because if you don’t, I might just have to reconsider that kiss I promised.”
Determined not to miss out, Mason quickened his pace, closing the distance between them. As he reached Y/N, he wrapped his arms around her waist, his hands resting lightly against the small of her back and pulling her close. He buried his face in her damp hair for a moment, breathing in her scent, feeling the warmth of her body even through the soaked fabric.
As they stood there, Mason looked down at Y/N with a contented smile. His arms still encircled her waist, holding her close despite the chill of the rain. He took a deep breath, savoring the closeness and the warmth she radiated. “You know,” he said softly, his voice carrying a blend of amusement and affection, “I know you promised me a kiss when we got there, but this moment feels pretty perfect too.”
Y/N looked up at him, her eyes sparkling with a mix of surprise and delight. “Oh, really?” she teased, her lips curling into a playful smile.
Mason nodded, his gaze steady and earnest. “Yeah, I think this moment is as good as any other.”
Before she could reply, Mason gently tilted her chin up with a tender touch. His fingers lingered for a moment, brushing against her skin with warmth and reverence. Their eyes locked, and for a suspended instant, the world seemed to pause. The steady rain created a soft, rhythmic backdrop that blurred their surroundings, making their shared space feel intimate and isolated.
Mason leaned in slowly, his breath mingling with hers as the distance between them closed. The cool droplets of rain kissed their faces, but it was the warmth of their connection that captured their full attention. When their lips finally met, the kiss was tender and deliberate, a gentle exploration that deepened as they became more attuned to each other. It was both soothing and electrifying, a beautiful contrast to the chill of the rain that clung to their clothes.
Y/N looked up at Mason, her smile still glowing from their shared kiss. “Let’s keep walking,” she said softly, slipping her hand back into his.
Mason nodded with a warm smile. “Okay,” he replied, giving her hand a reassuring squeeze.
As they continued their stroll toward the flat, Y/N glanced over at Mason, a playful smile on her lips. “Tonight’s been quite the adventure,” she said, her tone light and cheerful.
Mason chuckled softly, his eyes sparkling with genuine amusement. “I know what you mean.”
As they arrive to the flat, their eyes exchanged more than words ever could, conveying a silent understanding and connection that spoke volumes.
“Before we part ways,” Mason said with a playful glint in his eye, pulling out his phone and opening the contacts app, “I’d like to make sure I can stay in touch with my favourite angel.”
He typed “Angel I Met on Halloween” into the contact name field with a coy smile and handed the phone to Y/N. Her eyes sparkled with amusement as she took it from him, her smile widening.
“Alright,” she replied, her tone warm as she began typing her number into the phone. Her fingers moved gracefully across the screen, and she glanced up at him with a mix of curiosity and enjoyment.
Once she finished, she handed the phone back to Mason, who gave her a satisfied nod. “Perfect,” he said, saving the contact. “I wanted to make sure I could keep you updated on how my injury recovery is going,” he added with a hint of playfulness.
Y/N smiled softly. “Sounds good to me.”
“And if you’re up for it,” Mason continued with a shy smile, “maybe I could even arrange a spot for you in a box when I’m back on the pitch.”
Y/N’s eyes lit up. “That sounds like a plan.”
Mason nodded, his smile broadening. “Great. I’ll be sure to reach out.”
“I’ll be looking forward to it.”
As Y/N turned toward the flat, Mason gently touched her arm, his expression a mix of anticipation and coyness.
“You know,” he said, his voice light and teasing, “you did promise me a kiss as soon as we got here, remember?”
Y/N raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on her lips. “Well, aren’t you the greedy one?” she teased, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
Mason’s grin widened, his gaze sincere. “I think it’s only fair,” he replied, his tone warm.
With a soft laugh, Y/N leaned in, her eyes meeting his with a playful glint. Their lips brushed in a brief but sweet kiss, leaving a lingering warmth. She pulled back, her smile soft and genuine.
“There you go,” she said, her voice filled with affectionate playfulness. “Until next time, Devil.”
“Goodnight, Y/N,” Mason called softly as she turned to head inside.
“Goodnight, Mason,” she replied over her shoulder, her voice carrying a hint of warmth.
Mason watched her enter the flat, his heart feeling lighter than it had in weeks.

Sticks & stones | Mary Earps x Man United!Reader
Where Mary says something hurtful
Woso masterlist | Words: 1k
-----
You signed for Manchester United in the January transfer window, the team wanted to up their defence the rest of the season, and you had been their best option to do so.
The team had welcomed you with open arms, but not everything went as smoothly as you had hoped. You didn’t let it bother you much though, knowing that you just had to prove yourself to the team for them to accept you into it fully.
Your playing style was something new to the team. While you were a very sweet, kind, and caring person off the pitch, your on pitch personality was a stark difference. You were very confident on the pitch, which was often perceived as arrogance. That was the part that bothered Mary the most.
She was fine with a new defender coming in to help get their defence better, making her job as a goalkeeper easier. But the arrogance you brought to their game was something she could not wrap her head around.
After a couple of matches, you had won over the fans and most of the players as well. However, Mary was not one of them, though at points you thought you were even managing to make a little progress with the goalie.
When the semi-final match against Manchester City came around, you were one of the key players, and often got yourself a starting position, having become a crucial part of the defence.
City had managed to put one in the back of the net, and so had United a few minutes later. The teams were both well matched to each other, which of course was to be expected since the both of you made it this far into the competition.
Going into the 75th minute the score was still level, and both teams were feeling the pressure. Chloe Kelly was making a run towards your goal after intercepting a ball in midfield. You and Mary were the only ones between her and the goals, so you knew you had to do everything to stop her.
You went in a little too aggressively, and to your frustration completely missed the ball and slid fully into Chloe’s ankle. As she topples over you and the referee comes running your way, you know you messed up. The referee reaches into her pocket and pulls out a red.
In defeat you stand up and watch the referee point the card in your direction. Katie and Millie ran up to tell the referee down to a yellow, but you knew it was to no use. The first red in your career, never even haven’t gotten red after a double yellow.
As you were about to walk off, you heard the words from Mary coming from behind you. “Great, just what we needed, another arrogant show-off that might cost us the game.” Her words were more to herself than to anyone in particular, but they were loud enough for you to hear.
The teammates you passed consoled you as you walked off the pitch, but their words wouldn’t erase the ones that were spoken by the English goalkeeper. The booing from the City fans was also not a great feeling.
In the locker room you go over the moment in your head again. Getting red alone would have gotten you down, but with Mary’s words on replay, you were sitting there with tears in your eyes.
When your teammates started trickling in you were already showered and back in your travel outfit. Some of them came towards you offering a quick hand in support. You had been able to keep up with the score of the match on your phone, and luckily your teammates managed to kick another one in the back of the net and secure Manchester United a spot in the final. A final match you would have to sit out.
Mary, who’s cubby was next to yours, offered a hand on your shoulder, but you shook it off. “Eh okay, what did I do?” Mary questions jokingly, not realising that you had let your other teammates do what she just did. You look her right in the eyes and say, “Sticks and stones, right?”
The goalkeeper thinks hard of what you meant, but you thought you’d help her remember. “Arrogant show-off. Words hurt, you know? I admit that I went in too aggressively, but I wasn’t trying to show off, I was trying to prevent her being able to get one on one with you.” You kept your voice low, not wanting to interrupt the rest of the team from celebrating.
“I am sorry for saying that. I really didn’t mean it. In the moment I was very frustrated and therefore wasn’t thinking clearly.” You sighed, “Yeah, but that doesn’t mean that you don’t still think of me that way.”
Mary is quick to shake her head, “I really don’t. You are an incredible player and you have given so much to this team. I don’t think we would have been here today if it wasn’t for what you brought to our game.”
You stare at her dumbfounded for a moment, “You do?” You thought you had a long way to go to convince the goalkeeper of your worth, but she thought of your playing like this? “Yeah, of course. I’m sorry if I didn’t make it seem that way, and again very sorry for what I said on the pitch.”
From that moment on you felt fully part of the team, without having to prove yourself, playing with them became even more enjoyable. While you sadly weren’t able to play in the final yourself, the team did manage to win the title, and knowing that you had been a part in that, was all that mattered now.
