I don't understand people who have the time and energy to like make whole blogs criticizing (and often nitpicking when they run out of actual valid criticism) specific shows and movies and whatever. Like I enjoy a good criticism of a thing every once in a while too but it's a massive red flag for me when someone hates something SO passionately that they spend a ton of their free time for months and years on end just tearing apart a piece or media
#man i dont like hazbin hotel either and dont think criticizing it is bad but i constantly get recommended blogs dedicated to hating on it#and when i check them out they've been doing this shit for YEARS and nothing else??#and some of their criticism gets to a really weird point where theyre complaining about things that. arent issues. at all#one of the funniest things ive seen is blogs complaining how bad the character designs are and Yeah i Agree to an extent#but then they make redesigns for them that are worse#i've seen dozens of these blogs and they always do the same things#and like ok. you do you. i just wonder how some people have the energy#i think if you are constantly just posting about things you hate you probably arent very fun to be around idk#also honestly at times the media literacy. is so. so bad. i know some shows handle things poorly#but i've seen grown adults get mad that a character in a show or a movie has kinda gray morals and everyone doesnt communicate perfectly#and in like insane neutered therapyspeak#YEAH sometimes characters are messy and not perfect and that doesnt mean the narrative thinks its a good thing

Keith David recently complimented the hb cast saying when heās with them heās in the presence of something beautiful. I think thatās really sweet, because yes, the vast majority of the cast of HB seem like very kind and passionate people. Iām really glad Keith is having a good time, and tbqh Iāve never really had an issue with the cast.
But weirdly there are already people saying shit like āyou just KNOW the Hazbin haters are mad lolā and that Keith said Hazbin was his favorite roleā
FIRSTāItās really weird that they assume people who donāt like Hazbin think Keith needs to be āsavedā or some shit? Keith David is a grown ass man who can make his own decisions. Heās a very very talented individual, who has been in TONS of movies and shows, and has done a lot of really amazing voice work. Heās the best performer on HH imo, and while I donāt like Hazbin Hotel personally, I find it downright bizarre that Stans would assume that weāre likeā¦mad at him or donāt think he can make his own choices??
SECONDāthe clip that was circulating did not show him saying Hazbin is his favorite role, he said heās in the presence of something beautiful with the other cast mates and crew while working on the show (which tbh, I agree withāI really love a lot of the actors/actresses on the show, and I think, all things considered, they did a good job with what they were given. Iām of the opinion that the voice director did a pretty bad job, as a lot of the seasoned VAs on the show sounded kinda off, but I digress)
And hey, if he DID say that on a separate post or clip like. Thatās okay??? Heās allowed to like the role??? If itās his favorite role thatās great!!! That doesnāt automatically mean that everyone whoās ever criticized or disliked Hazbin is wrong in their opinion.
Thereās like. This weird insistence Iāve seen in Hazbin Stan spaces where they point to the professionals who have worked with Spindlehorse or started in Vivās shows and are like āSEE??? THIS REALLY TALENTED PERSON WAS ON THE SHOW!!! SO IT MUST BE GOOD!!!!ā
And I mean. Thatās still all subjective. Iām so sorry, but it is!! Idk how to tell yall this but great actors and artists have been in some really really bad movies. Itās not really an indicator of if something is SURE to be well written or made. Again, all subjective, but like. Idk Keith David is very very much allowed to think Hazbin is the greatest story of all time and his favorite role ever, and Iām very much allowed to disagree with him on that, but still enjoy his body of work.
My favorite performance of his will always be Childs from John Carpenterās āThe Thingā, but thatās just, like, my opinion, man!!! Who cares!!! Maybe Keith hated that role! That would make me a little concerned, because Iād be worried that he was treated badly or was struggling during the filming, but if it turned out he just didnāt think it was a good movie? Thatās okay!!!! Him not liking his part in it wouldnāt take away what I like about it.
Just had to vent that. I really really hate when fans or critics bombard actors from shows in any way, either by being overly familiar in a really parasocial way, or by acting like theyāre āowedā something from them.
Either way, love Keith, not a fan of Hazbin personally, and thatās an incredibly normal cold take to have that for whatever reason some people apparently cannot fathom. Itās kind of sad to me that people will see an actor compliment a show they like and immediately go āPEOPLE WHO DONT LIKE THIS SHOW MUST BE SO MAD RIGHT NOW HA!!ā Instead of being like āaww yay, Iām so glad the actor enjoys the characterā
(In the same way, I really loved Adam Sandler in Hotel Transylvania and Fifty First Dates. Doesnāt mean I have to love every single āgrown upsā film, or defend āJack and Jillā as high art cinema. I donāt understand why people donāt get this Chai. Anyway! Have a great night!!)
Even if we discount the fact that Keith David was probably (rightly) treated like a king on that set just because he's an old guy and Keith David, what the hell do they think he's going to say? "I hope this show and everyone involved with it gets fucked with an iron stick?"

I really REALLY love hazbin hotel, truly! But i have many criticism, and i havent watched them yet.
No hate, but the concept of heaven and hell in this uh, universe is a bit... flawed, in a sense. I do enjoy the character design, and oh God does Helluva Boss scratch that itch in my mind- idk, it brings me happiness.
Im not even gonna touch on how some of it doesnt make sense in a religious perspective, this rant is solely on hell
Warning, i havent seen the show. But have seen the pilot and fanfics and headcannons lmao, feel free to correct me if im wrong!
Idk if this is true, but I heard that Angel Dust was a mafia before he died? And idk if he feels bad for all the poor souls he fluffed up, bcs i havent read or seen anything adressing it.
Truly, truly I love Angel Dust, like honey, I will str**gle Val for you, but do you actually want to repent ššš
And, if, IF he does go to heaven- will the residents even welcomed him? If redemption exist, then heaven needs to be on board with this. Not just the people in charge, but the citizens as well. If you just, thrust a sinner thats been 'redeemed' into heaven, and heaven didnt take notice until the redeemed appears at their doostep- how would the angels react?
Will that redeemed survive? Hell no. Well, depends. Whats their rules up in heaven? I hope season 2 showcase heaven's reactions, and maybe Emily will be fed up and join the demons down bellow??? That would be cool!!!
Ehm,back to the disscussion.
Keep in mind that I havent seen the show, but I have A LOT of qustions about redemption- bcs its so much complicated if you think about it, plus, redemptiom in hell??? Boy we gotta set up some rules.
First, what is redemption actually???
Redemption is-
an act of atoning for guilt, a fault, or a mistake, or the state of having atoned. an act or the state of being rescued.Ā
According to this
Im just going to use this meaning, bcs theres different meanings and i want to save the headache.
Basing off of this, you could argue that someone is redeemed by being rescued- which is uhm, unsual if your rescuer is the daughter of Lucifer, the next queen of hell. Hello?? I mean, in some swap aus, Adam being the one to 'rescue' the sinners make sense bcs he was a human too, like those sinners, he must've know(I assumed) the pain sinners go through. And, if we make the plot like 'oh heaven can make mistakes' then actually find a sinner thaat has little to no criminal background and is very 'angelike' and is someone who wants to change for the better, AND ACTUALLY GIVE THAT CHARACTER A MONOLOGUE ABOUT THEIR PAST AND THEM ACTUALLY WANTING TO FIX THEIR MISTAKES-
And question, if someone wants to be redeemed, and they are in hell, do whatever crimes and sins they did in hell will be hold accountable???
As I said, if you want to make redemption make sense, it has many complex layers...
Okay okay, im being sidetracked-
Charlie, the daughter of Lucifer being a 'rescuer' doesnt really make sense in Hazbin Hotel, UNLESS, she once had a sinner friend who goes through so much in the real world, but end up getting fluffed and end up in hell, where they met Charlie and still go so much, but was killed(either by angels or other demons). AFTER THAT, then the idea that Charlie, a hellborn who never felt what humans/sinners felt make sense to want to make sinners repent so that they dont feel what her sinner friend feel.
THAT, would be an amazing concept to explore. A hellborn whose sheltered all her life, met a sinner who goes through the toughness of life, then they bond over... anything, something, and learned about eachother. The sinner has hope that there is a better future, while the hellborn realizes theres more than meets the eye and that they're perception of reality has been scewed.
If Charlie advocats for hellborn's rights, then it still make sense bcs she IS an hellborn, and knows a bit of what her people suffered. Hell, Vaggie being her right hand man would only make it make sense, since Vaggie was a former angel, then she can give Charlie insights of heaven.
Thats all for my rent, bcs am very tired rn and i have so much to do and eheosjksskdnsk
See yall next time, bye~ā
