Would you ever or have considerd leaving the fandom or quitting?

Court of Darkness was the first otome game I downloaded! (3 years ago, when YouTube was promoting CoD and I decided what the heck I’ll give it a try, the ads were not NEARLY as cringe worthy as they are now…or so my spotty memory claims.) It was like…the gateway drug for other otome games I now play 😂 For that reason, this game and its fandom will always be special to me.

Real life has been stupid busy, so I haven’t been able to post as much lately, but I can’t imagine quitting the game or not posting until the game stops being supported by Voltage. The events are typically fun, the book 2s have been AWESOME, and seeing the fandom post theories from the Princes Path is a joy to read.

Plus…this game has my two favorite otome characters—Toa and Roy.

Reading Toa’s quips and one liners to Fenn and Guy is a treat. He’s the epitome of a man with so much hidden kindness…despite getting none from his family. I love how Fenn goads Toa yet is actually watching over him and making sure Toa is not working himself to death. And I have a visceral compulsion to hug Toa for all the unrealistic expectations foisted on him by the Qelsan court and family. I would knit that man so many gloves to keep his anxiety induced cold fingers warm. And have a never ending supply of hot chocolate to give him at all times.

And Roy. My favorite otome character. Why? No, I don’t have a predilection for pink or secretly yearn for Sherry but settle for her brother instead (but seriously Voltage…give more Sherry content). He’s such a layered character. Roy appears to be a one dimensional Prince Charming caricature BUT—he’s kind but ambitious; the most powerful magic user ever in his kingdom but doubting his worth; always encouraging others but hardest on himself; strait-laced yet passionate STUPID horny for MC. And for fanfic purposes Roy can be nearly anything: achingly sweet and sincere; the perfect professor; intentional and calculating; a cringy beta-male for Guy; or with a little push, he could have quite a villain arc. His range is awesome and it shows in his events.
