The 2019 Good Food Awards Finalized Have Been Announced

The Good Food Awards are back for a ninth year and they have just announced their finalists. The yearly celebration of American-made consumables with a focus on sustainability has narrowed down the 401 products making it to the last leg from a field of over 2,000. Among the 27 finalists in the coffee category, there a handful of familiar names as well as a few new ones. And it’s not all Ethiopian coffees this year; it’s only mostly Ethiopian coffees.

The 2019 Good Food Awards coffee finalists are:

Boddhi Satva ft. Kaysha - “Mama Kossa” This collaboration just gave birth to a smooth African electronic dance floor banger! Within the fast expanding genre of Afro-house there are a few main players like Boddhi Satva, whose sound is inspiring many a young producer. That house tempo is the driving force, but it's Kinshasa born zouk singer Kaysha who sets the mood. He actually sings in his native language of Lingala for the very first time! The title made me wonder if I should expect something in the Makossa style, or a link to the hit by Cameroonian sax player Manu Dibango. But I learned from Boddhi that the title refers to a guy asking his lady to be faithful to him. So there you go.

Great production all round, making the wait for Boddhi's full album even harder!
