A Quick Introduction
I am Veronica Malvar, writer by night.
This blog will host some of my shorter stories, most of which will be smut-focused. Some of these stories may not be for everyone (and given the genre, they definitely aren’t for anyone under 18!) so I will be doing my best to ensure that my stories are properly tagged with the right trigger warning, if there are any.
I may accept prompts from time to time for shorter stories but I would rather that all my ideas are purely my own, therefore I will only be working with the barest ideas of the prompt (e.g. the genre, the archetype, the main trope, etc.)
In time, I may open up commissions but they will be similar to prompts, in that I will accept just the idea. The difference between these is that a regular prompt may (1) be ignored, (2) have a word limit not going above 1,500 words, and (3) may or may not acknowledge that you sent the prompt. A commission will not be ignored unless rejected. The word count is dependent on the commission itself. The commissioner will always be acknowledged on the post.

Still thinking about when I first read The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe and I was talking about it with @malfie cause she was the only one of my friends who had read it, and I told her that Edmund was my favorite character and she was like “Yeah you didn’t need to tell me that I already figured” like I really have a brand™ lol

Four times you fell for Bones, and the one time he fell for you, pt2: The Potentate
Word Count: 2178 Tags: @dolamrothianlady, @supermoonpanda, @kirkaholic123, @shewhorunswithfandoms @youdonebeengarthed, @starmission @emmkolenn@auduna-druitt @outside-the-government @yourtropegirl @pinkamour1588@impalaanddemons @flirtswithdanger @southernbellestatues@engineeringtrashcan @rayleyanns @sistasarah-sallysaidso @samaxraph99
The one thing you’d always loathed about your position as an ambassador was the need to attend functions that were only loosely tied to societies you interacted with. Feasts were difficult, as you never knew what delicacy you might have to gag down lest you offend, but parties and balls were your least favourite. So it was with begrudging acquiescence that you prepared for the planetary ball of Malvar III. It was billed as a celebration of the Malvarite delegation choosing to join the Federation. It was really a gala of excesses the Malvarites could barely afford. Choosing the Federation was a no-lose scenario. Their government was on the verge of bankruptcy and joining would allow the economy of the planet to recover significantly from the recession it had been mired in for decades, as new trade partners would become available. They seemed determined, despite your assurances that there was no need for the fete, to empty the treasury showing the Federation they were somehow worthy.
You checked your reflection in the mirror one last time. The only benefit you could find to the evening was that it gave you an excuse to wear something more comfortable than your ceremonial ambassadorial robes. Which said a lot about their comfort, considering you were poured into a slinky little black dress and a strappy pair of heels.
The music was strangely appealing, low horns and percussion mostly, and the affair was quite calm, by earth standards. You were speaking to the Potentate over a glass of wine while a number of guests danced some kind of slow waltz. He was eager to continue picking your brain for every scrap of information about potential trading partners. The work of an ambassador was never done, you reflected, as he droned on about mining rights on the various moons of Malvar.
It was to your great surprise to see some familiar faces in the crowd. The Enterprise had delivered you to Malvar III at least six week previously, and you hadn’t seen another human aside from your diplomatic team since. You’d had word that the Enterprise would be retrieving you now that your work was done, and were pleased to see some of the crew had made it to the gala. Captain Kirk caught your eye and nodded at you over his drink, and then approached, a broad smile on his face. He bowed to the Potentate before addressing you.
“You look ravishing, Ambassador,” he complimented. “It’s no wonder you’re so successful.”
“I am more than a pretty face, Jim Kirk,” you chastised, and then took him in, trim and fit in his formal uniform. “Although one could argue the same for you. Those dress greys bring out your eyes.”
He grinned again and looped his arm in yours. “If you’ll excuse us, Your Eminence,” he smiled at the Potentate. “I’d like to steal the Ambassador for a dance.”
“Captain Kirk, correct?” The Potentate asked. Jim nodded. The Potentate looked back to you with an indulgent smile. “Our network tells us he is the most eligible bachelor in the Alpha quadrant, Ambassador. You would be well matched.”
You tried to stifle a laugh and failed. “I rather think Captain Kirk is married to his career,” you managed. Jim raised an eyebrow and shook his head.
“As is the ambassador, no matter how well matched we may be,” he concluded. He offered his elbow and led you out on the dance floor.
“Thank you, Jim,” you started. “All he seems to want to discuss is mining and exploratory rights for the moons of the entire system.”
“Malvar III is poor, on the brink of revolution. It makes sense that he would grasp for whatever he can to quell the dissidents,” Jim commented.
“I tend to agree. Fascinating that he felt this opulent display was appropriate given the conditions of the populace,” you replied. Jim nodded.
“I was surprised he insisted. I hear you recommended against it,” he agreed. The song seemed to end, and Jim brought you back to a cluster of Enterprise crew, including Doctor McCoy. Your breath caught when you took in his broad shoulders in his dress greys. He offered you a half smile.
“Bambassabor,” he winked. You grinned in response.
“Doctor Bones! How fare the children?” You asked. He offered you his arm and swept you out onto the dance floor, taking the opportunity to discuss Rayne and Kya at length with you. His wit was as sharp as you remembered, and you found yourself laughing as he related story after story about the children that had captured your interest.
“But what will become of them, Doctor Bones?” You asked, sorrow creeping into your voice. His smile changed and he drew in a deep breath. “They’re just children. And they’re all alone.”
“While you’ve been here, negotiating with the Malvarites, we’ve been busy too. Once the children were all well fed, nourished and healthy, each one of them tested off the books. The Yorktown Academy for Gifted Children was happy to assure each child a spot. The houseparents at the academy love the group. Rayne, in particular, is doing amazingly well. I got work this morning that he spoke in session,” he offered. “I would have liked to see them adopted, but at least this way they will stay together, where they can be guaranteed counselling and medical care that suits their pasts.”
“That’s wonderful news. I’ll have to go see them when I return to Yorktown.” You felt a warm tug knowing the children were being cared for by the Federation. Doctor McCoy escorted you back to the sidelines of the hall, thanking you for the dance and offering to get you a drink.
As you waited for him to return, the music changed, intangibly at first, and then took a more upbeat turn. The Potentate sought you out and joined you.
“You are well admired, Ambassador,” he commented. You shook your head.
“Captain Kirk was just being polite,” You dismissed, feeling a little uncomfortable.
“And the doctor?” He countered. You fought the flush that you felt creeping up your cheeks.
“Doctor McCoy was updating me on some orphan children that I befriended on my journey here. They are doing well after their ordeal,” you explained. The music became a little louder, and the dance floor cleared of social dancers. The beat picked up again, and the Potentate made a grand gesture toward the dance floor.
“And now you will see the beauty and athleticism of the Malvarite youth.” He gestured to a troupe of scantilly clad young men and women weaving their way onto the ballroom floor, their muscular bodies shining with glimmer in the lowered lights of the hall. As the music swelled, they began to dance, a rhythmic, sinuous motion, oozing raw sensuality. It was dancing clearly designed to seduce, and you suddenly remembered the material you’d read about the mating rituals of the Malvarites. The dance was considered introduction, courtship and consummation, all in one evening’s activities. It was surprising to you that the Potentate would agree to using the dance as entertainment.
The music was mesmerizing, and you were captivated. The smooth movements of the dancers flowed like water rippling, and you found it difficult to look away from the spectacle, particularly when a handsome Malvarite man danced toward you. “The dance is a mating ritual here,” The Potentate explained. “These men and women are looking for their bondmates.” You looked away from the young man to the Potentate in alarm.
“Their what now?” You asked, alarmed by what you were hearing.
“It’s a mating ritual. Our youth of breeding age dance. The dance allows them to select a mate from the unfettered among the spectators. I looks like Hr’narr has chosen you,” the Potentate said. “It is a great honour to be chosen by one as virile as Hr’narr.”
“Virile?” You managed, your voice barely a whisper. Hr’narr was dancing closer to you, his hips swaying suggestively. His eyes were locked on yours, and you were nervous to note he looked hungry, like he would ravish you in a split second. You looked away, feeling awkward and uncomfortable. There was no question he was attractive, the sheen on his skin accentuating the hard planes of each muscle group on his body. You concentrated on looking anywhere but at him, eventually focussing on your empty glass, wondering what had ever happened to Doctor McCoy’s promise of a refill. Anything to keep your mind off the sensual and erotic dancer moving closer and closer to you.
“Of course, if you were already mated, it would be a different story. He would never be so presumptuous as to assume that you would leave your mate for him. Hr’narr will eventually rule this land, after I am gone. You could not do better,” he outlined, watching your response. “Of course, if you merely seek a companion to warm your bed, Hr’narr is experienced in all of the Shant-Kar and has mastered the oral languages of -”
“Are you offering his sexual services to me?” You interrupted, astonished. “This man, who will be the next potentate?”
“Ambassador, I seek to give you whatever will make you happy -”
“Sweetheart, I’m sorry I took so long. I couldn’t decide between the purple or the orange,” Doctor McCoy cut in, handing you a glass as he leaned forward. His lips brushed against yours in that casual way long-time lovers have, careless like an afterthought. He turned to the Potentate, who looked astonished and put out. “I’m sorry to saddle you with her for so long, Your Eminence. I’m sure she was boring you to tears with lists of potential trading partners and the like.”
“In fact, I was explaining the line of succession here on Malvar,” the Potentate recovered quickly. “Hr’narr is dancing tonight to find his future queen.”
“So he’s your heir?” McCoy asked, draping his arm around your shoulders.
“He is. He had expressed an interest in Ambassador Y/N these past weeks, and had hoped to woo her tonight with the dance of Klav-Nakt,” the Potentate explained, a sour look crossing his face.
“Unfortunately, I’ve already wooed her with the dance of the irate doctor,” McCoy smirked. “It’s not as clever and fine looking as this, mostly involves me cussing and waving my arms a lot, but it was surprisingly effective.”
“Indeed. If you’ll excuse me.” The Potentate nodded, a grim smile plastered across his face, nodded to the musicians. The music changed once again to the low horns and percussion from earlier, and the dancers exited the hall.
Doctor McCoy led you out onto a quiet balcony. “Fools rush in where angels fear to tread,” he offered, leaning over the edge of the balustrade, looking into the gardens. You tried to stop a giggle but were unsuccessful.
“Is that an apology?” You laughed, joining him. It was a beautiful night. The air was warm, scented with a sweet flower native to the planet.
“I’m sure you were capable of calling down that old windbag and his son just fine on your own, but it just seemed easier to step in and say you were already claimed,” he explained, turning to lean on one elbow and face you.
“You’re right, I was capable of extricating myself. But the way you did it kept it from becoming a diplomatic incident, so I’m not complaining,” you shrugged, looking across the darkened yard. In the distance, the triple moons of Malvar lit up the night just enough to see silhouettes and outlines.
“So, what is Shant-Kar?” He asked. You rolled your eyes.
“It is a specific discipline, similar to learning a martial art. Except it’s about sexual prowess and satisfaction,” you explained. McCoy had chosen that moment to take a sip of his drink and promptly spat it out, over the balcony. You smirked. “There are some who might say human men could do well to learn from the Malvarites.”
“Sweetheart, I studied backseat of the car, furtive dorm-room liasons and supply closet quickies. And I’ve also been told I’ve mastered a few oral languages -”
“I don’t think the Potentate was referring to dropping f-bombs and screaming damnit, Doctor Bones,” you teased. It was his turn to roll his eyes.
“You can just say Bones, Bambassabor,” he allowed with a soft smile. You tilted your head and took him in, dress uniform unbuttoned at the neck, hat long abandoned somewhere. The sharp angle of his jaw was outlined in the low light, and you realized if you stayed out on that balcony even a moment longer, you would do something stupid.
“I should turn in, Bones.” You pushed away from the balustrade and smoothed out your dress. “I’ve got one final meeting in the morning, and I understand the shuttle is leaving before lunch. Thank you again for your assistance back there. It would have been awkward to have to explain my sudden acquisition of a husband. And a bit of a conflict of interest too.”
“My pleasure, Bambassabor,” he winked.

Isko Moreno vows to continue road clearing ops in Manila
#PHnews: Isko Moreno vows to continue road clearing ops in Manila
MANILA -- Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Monday said the road-clearing operations in Manila will continue even after the 60-day deadline for the local governments has ended.
“Let me be clear. Tapos na ang 60 days. Hindi pa natin alam ang grade ng Maynila -- whether bagsak tayo o pasado tayo, immaterial iyon sa akin (The 60 days is over. We still don’t know the score of Manila -- whether we passed or not, it is immaterial to me),” Domagoso said in his weekly program 'The Capital Report.'
Domagoso stressed the regular clearing operations will continue even after the Department of the Interior and Local Government has completed its audit of public roads and sidewalks.
On October 2, Department of Engineering and Public Works (DEPW) personnel demolished at least three barangay halls, a week after the 60-day deadline ended.
These include Barangay 729 Hall along P. Ocampo Street near St. Scholastica's College which was obstructing the public sidewalk.
The DEPW personnel also demolished Barangay 688 Hall along Singalong Street near Remedios Circle after it was tagged as a public sidewalk obstruction.
The Barangay 694 Hall at the corner of Malvar and Leon Guinto Streets near Philippine Christian University was also demolished.
“Lahat ng taga-DPS (Department of Public Services), taga-DEPW, lahat ng pulis, lahat ng barangay official, particularly mga chairman, hinihikayat ko kayo, tuluy-tuloy ang paglilinis, pagsasaayos at pagbabalik ng mga kalye sa taumbayan (All DPS, DEPW, police, barangay officials, particularly the chairmen, I encourage you all, to continue the cleaning, organization, and return of the streets to the citizens)," Domagoso said.
Stressing that it is the obligation of elected officials to provide peace and order, Domagoso urged the local government officials to keep the city's communities clean. "Kaya kayong mga barangay chairman, tinatawagan ko po kayo. Patuloy po kayong makiisa (I call on all barangay chairman. Continue to take part of this initiative)," he said. (PNA)

Btw, shout out to @malfie! I know her in real life – we became friends because we have the same name (tho I go by my nickname on here) and because we have the same fandom opinions. She’s one of the coolest (tho very awkward) people I know, and I made her get a tumblr account recently because she was spending way too much time on fandom instagram, which is incredibly toxic. She isn’t very active (despite my best efforts), but you should follow her! She likes Ron/Romione, Hunger Games/Everlark, Anne with an E, and Kurtis Conner (those are the main ones I think lol)
Also if she gets a lot of followers maybe she’ll be pressured to post more

Four times you fell for Bones, and the one time he fell for you, pt4: Poker Face

You’d finally booked a well-earned shore leave, as after bouncing from the the Lincoln to two other missions you were exhausted, and past due time to yourself. You’d opted to head to Risa, but had a stopover in Yorktown on the way to check in with Rayne and Kya. Kya threw herself into your arms, immediately setting into a one-sided stream of conversation updating you on everything that had happened since you’d met them on the Enterprise. Rayne just slipped his hand quietly in yours as you walked through the grounds of the school, content to stay by your side wordlessly while Kya spoke for both of them.
She was soon distracted by a glade of wildflowers, and ran over to them, still babbling away.
“She seems to like it here.” You directed your comment to Rayne, hopefully.
“I like it here too,” he said. His voice was lower than you were expecting, and you realized he was probably older than you’d initially thought. “The houseparents are nice.”
“Do you miss home?” You pressed. “You don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to,” you quickly added.
He shrugged. “Kya’s my home now. Her parents were more parent to me than my old man was. As long as we’re together, it’ll be okay.”
“Is it okay if I hug you?” You asked. He blushed and slipped his arms around your waist. You held his head against you, wrapping your arms around his shoulders. “Rayne, I’ve given the school my contact information. If you or Kya ever need anything, you let me know, okay?”
He pulled away and looked up at you, nodding. “That’s what Doctor Bones said too.”
“Bones came and saw you?” You asked. He nodded.
“Yeah, he came and checked all us kids out, made sure we were healthy, brought Kya clothes for that doll you gave her, and brought me a box of building stuff from Scotty. I made a radio the other day.” He lit up as he spoke of his visit with Doctor McCoy and you felt that familiar tightening in your chest that you’d come to associate with your affection for the man. “And he showed me how to shave.”
You let out a peal of laughter. “I don’t know if you’re old enough to shave, Rayne!”
“Prolly not,” he admitted, blushing. “But I asked anyhow.”
“Bambassabor Y/N! I picked you these flowers!” Kya interrupted, thrusting a bouquet of wildflowers into your hands. “They isn’t really wildflowers because they had to growed them from seeds, but they’re called wildflowers anyhow.”
“They’re beautiful, Kya, thank you,” you smiled.
“Next time you come visit, can you and Doctor Bones come at the same time?” She asked.
“I don’t know, dear heart, I haven’t seen Bones in nearly a year,” you admitted. Her brow furrowed in confusion.
“I thought him was your boyfriend!” She exclaimed. You felt your cheeks redden at the comment.
“No, he’s not.” You tried to laugh it off. Rayne gave you a smug look.
“You want him to be though, don’t you?” He asked.
“Okay, that’s enough about me. Tell me about this radio you built, Rayne,” you changed the subject, somewhat successfully.
Risa was just as glorious as you remembered it being. The sun was hot, warming your skin in a way the artificial atmosphere of a starship never could, and the resort you were staying had a swim up bar at the pool. You found yourself in a cycle of sunbathing, jumping in the pool to cool off, and swimming to the bar for a cold drink before you parked yourself in the sun again. You couldn’t fathom it getting any better.
The bartender passed you a drink and winked. “Your tab’s been cleared,” he grinned. You gave him a surprised look and he nodded his head to the side of the bar that was out of the water. There were two men sitting there, but with their backs to the sun, they were in shadows. You pushed yourself out of the water, took your drink and walked over.
“Fancy meeting you here,” you laughed as your eyes finally adapted and you recognized both Captain Kirk and Doctor McCoy. “I didn’t realize the Enterprise was on leave as well?”
“Just a day left,” Jim offered. You took in his red shoulders and nodded.
“It would appear leave has been good to you, Jim,” you teased.
“A little too much sun yesterday, but we’d challenged the crew of the Discovery to a beach volleyball game,” he offered.
“Was it worth it?” You asked.
“We won,” Doctor McCoy replied. You smiled at him, taking in the dark tan, few days growth of stubble and sunglasses. It was a good look for him, and reminded you too quickly of the soft feelings you’d developed over the past few years for the man. Desperate to engage him in a conversation that was not about how good shore leave looked on him, you grasped at the next thing you thought of.
“I saw the children just before I came here. Rayne says he’s built a radio from that box of parts you gave him,” you offered. He looked pleased, and his smile betrayed his strong affection for the children you’d come to adore.
“The headmaster at the school said he’s showing real mechanical aptitude. Scotty made that up for him to tinker with,” he explained. You fell into a comfortable conversation about the kids, with Jim interjecting every so often.Almost as though he was one of the children desiring attention, Jim got more and more disruptive until finally Doctor McCoy sighed and rolled his eyes.
“Bambassabor, my dear, do you play poker?” He asked, using the nickname he’d been using since Kya’d first said it. You laughed.
“I’ve been known to, Leonard,” you nodded. You weren’t sure if you’d ever called him by his first name before, and you kind of like the way it felt in your mouth.
“We’re playing tonight, why don’t you join us? Jim’s terrible, and he’ll be so distracted by having to watch his hand that we might be able to actually carry on a conversation,” he grinned.
“That sounds like it would be quite enjoyable, Bones,” you responded, and held up your hand to get the bartender’s attention for another drink.
“All I’m saying is that Y/N did a helluva good job helping out last year with the Lincoln, but diplomatic personnel would be better served by having some emergency medical training. It’s sheer luck that she realized something was wrong with Hamada. If emergency medicine was part of the diplomatic corp training, she could have also helped with triage and early treatment,” Doctor McCoy announced. The conversation had turned, as it always did, to ways to make strengthen the humanitarian role of Starfleet, and the doctor had latched onto an idea that had obviously been bouncing around in his head since at least the Lincoln.
“Helluva good job?” You laughed. “Last I recalled I was fucking useless.” You kept your tone light and teasing, but couldn’t help remind him of his words. He sighed and cocked an eyebrow at you.
“Are you ever going to let me live that down?” He asked. You shrugged and winked.
“Maybe. Tell me again how good I am at doing your job, and I might forget about it,” you teased. He rolled his eyes.
“Jesus, woman,” he groaned. “You’ll be the death of me.”
“Tell me,” you hedged. He let out an exasperated huff of air.
“You’re a brilliant diagnostician, and the world would be better if you were a doctor as well as a diplomat,” he taunted. You cackled and shook your head.
“Maybe doctors need to take diplomat’s training. Would give them better bedside manner, don’t you think, Jim?” You turned to the captain. He held his hands up in surrender.
“Oh no, no!” He exclaimed. “Don’t drag me into this quarrel! What I think is not at question here.” Both you and McCoy laughed. Jim rose, shaking his head, and grabbed drinks for the three of you.
“In all seriousness, Y/N, I do feel that our Starfleet diplomats would be served well to have some emergency training. If you arrived somewhere and there’s some sort of crisis, you could act in the role of a first responder, and be better able to assess the needs of the populations you’re serving.” His tone had changed from one of lighthearted bullshitting to dead serious. “That episode with the Lincoln was an eye-opener for me.”
“Diplomats already take so much education, Bones,” you protested. “I did my bachelors, then a masters, then a PhD. And now you want me to take physician’s training too? I would have been in my forties before I ever started working!”
“Maybe not med school, Bambassabor,” he replied thoughtfully. “Maybe medics training. Or nursing? Something where you can recognize emergent medical situations. At the very least so you are capable of triage, but maybe even begin some treatments.”
“You’ve been thinking about this a lot, haven’t you?” You asked, taking a sip from your beer bottle. He nodded.
“I have. As much as you’d like to remind me that I said you were useless that day, had you not clued in that something was wrong with Captain Hamada, she would have died. The only reason she is alive is because of your eyes. Because from moment one, you’d seen her, and were able to catch that her condition was declining. Without any medical training, you managed to recognize that. Now imagine what you could do if, on landing on any planet you were assigned to, you could get an immediate general picture of their health? The government says they’re doing well, and throwing balls like on Malvar III, but the housestaff show signs of malnutrition. They claim there’s no disease but everyone is covered in scars from some kind of pox, or that personal rights are respected but you can see indicators of post-traumatic stress or torture on first glance. You arrive in the midst of a famine, and are able to begin triaging the most dire needs first. There’s so many different ways that having some medical expertise could be beneficial.” His eyes flashed with the passion he felt about the idea and it stole your breath. Who would have thought this curmudgeonly, dry, sarcastic soul would be such an idealist?
“Well, why can’t I just bring a doctor with me?” You asked. “Wouldn’t that make more sense?”
“That’s one more person to add to a diplomatic team. One more person who could be sidelined if the situation on a planet is such that only you and security are getting in. It makes more sense to have diplomats cross-trained as medical staff,” he argued.
“Have you ever forwarded this idea to the diplomatic corp?” You asked. It was clear he’d done a lot of thinking about it.
“Sure have, darlin’,” he nodded. “The response I got was fucking crickets.”
“When you’re off leave, can you forward your proposal to me?” You pressed. He cocked an eyebrow and leaned back in his chair, taking a long pull off his beer as he gave you an assessing stare. He leaned forward and nodded.
“That I can, Bambassabor,” he smiled. “If you print it, you could probably make a few paper airplanes, even.”
“Let me look it over. Maybe I can give you some tips on how to be more diplomatic in your approach,” you teased.
“So, are we playing poker, or are you two flirting?” Jim interjected, no longer content to watch the two of you discuss policy. You felt your cheeks heat and picked up the hand Jim had dealt while you’d been talking.
“Let’s play poker,” you nodded.

@malfie:
