Mallt stared out the window while she waited for the Marley to return for their appointment. She was lucky enough that she rarely got sick but her friendship with the doctor kept her coming back more frequently than she had to. Her friendship with Marley was one of the reasons she moved to Water 7 after all. 

The sound of the doorknob turning brought her back to reality but she couldn’t bring herself to move. They exchanged pleasantries but the thought hovering at the back of her mind kept her distracted. She knew Marley could tell. Years of companionship, first in the marines then working together at Galley-La, let them read each other with ease.

Something is wrong but I don’t know what. 

“Does something feel… familiar about the new employees?” She asked and glanced back over her shoulders to look at Marley. “Do you feel it or am I imagining things?”
