"Hope..." "I see it." And felt it, as well. Everything around them was shifting, changing - and Hope was fairly sure she could see Rousseau's, which absolutely couldn't be true. "Get Kaleb back to the school. And stay there - we need to figure out what's happening." In the meantime, she still had a mission; to kill Malivore. And in the process, lose the love of her life. And she did. Her humanity flickered as she drove a sword made of her own blood into Landon's chest and felt him die, but in the end her urgent need to find out what was going on around her kept the spark lit. Pressing a reverent kiss to Landon's temple, she walked out of the train yard and toward the center of town.
There was no doubt, as she walked the streets - Mystic Falls was still there, but it was ensconced inside New Orleans. It didn't make sense. None of it made sense. And combined with the overwhelming transformation and emotional devastation of the last few hours, she had no way to process it properly. Around her was panic, confusion, and faces both familiar and unfamiliar trying to discern the nature of their new reality. Mystic Falls' civil defense sirens, long dormant, began to wail as she crossed the street toward the Mystic Grill. Someone came dangerously close to walking into her, and she backed up a step with the new grace of a vampire.
The civil defense sirens, it turned out, were the brainchild of the newly returned Sheriff Elizabeth Forbes. As everyone else stood at a loss, she had seized control and declared a state of emergency in town limits. Hope, in the end, retreated to the Salvatore School to check in with Alaric and the other students as everyone took stock of the situation. And it was Liz Forbes, again, who appeared at the front door of the school only two days later with an invitation and an explanation of sorts. People had arrived in the new amalgamated cities, apparently from both past and future, and she had invited them all to the Lockwood manor. Invited everyone.
And that was what led Hope to be standing on the manor's front porch, awkwardly trying to decide what she hoped she'd see when she went inside. Her family? Her friends? How many had been lost? Who would come home?
"I wish I had a drink," she muttered to the nearest person on the steps. "I hope there's alcohol in there."

"you werenât mine to lose"
pairings: hope mikaelson x fem!reader
warning/tags: angst.
summary: you confront hope after she jumped into malivore.
hope's piercing blue eyes bore into yours as she stood before you. her auburn hair was illuminated under the street lights of mystic falls. you were the only one who remembered her.
"why did you do it, hope?" you demanded, anger seething beneath the surface of your words. "why did you leave us all behind without even saying goodbye?"
hope's gaze faltered, guilt weighing heavy in her chest.
"i had to," she whispered, "it was the only way to stop malivore from consuming everything."
you shook your head in disbelief, tears brimming in your eyes. "you could have told us, hope. we could have found another way. iâ we could have helped you."
"i couldn't risk it," hope replied, her voice hollow with regret.
you took a step closer, your eyes blazing with a mixture of anger and something elseâ something hope couldn't quite place.
"you know what the most infuriating part is?"you said, your voice trembling with emotion. "it's that i've been in love with you since we were seven years old, hope. and i think the most tragic part about that is that i don't think i can stop, even if i wanted to. because... because we both know you don't feel the same way. but that's okay. just being in love with you is enough for me."
hope's breath caught in her throat, her heart aching with the weight of your confession.
"you're an amazing friend, you know that?" she said as she reached out to touch you, but you pulled away, shaking your head.
"don't," you whispered, your voice thick with unshed tears. "i know how this goes. i know you're with landon but i needed to say it, hope. i needed you to know. i don't expect anything in return."
and with those words hanging heavy in the air between you, you turned and walked away, leaving hope alone with the echoes of her own heartbreak.

Not alone
Female vampire reader x Hope Mikaelson
Summary: Hope starts to have a mental breakdown and asks for reader.
Warnings: mentions of death, swearing, pretty much it
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Everything in Hope's view is turning swirly, making it hard for her to concentrate. It's been overwhelming, the malivore monsters appearing left and right and followed by nights with nightmares of how it's her fault that her mom, dad, and uncle are dead. Then everyone always turns to her when there's a problem, thinking she immediately knows what to do.
Memories are taking over again from her past. She broke her family apart and she's the reason three of her family members are dead.
Her head isn't allowing her to take a break, awake or not. And it's taking a huge toll on her both physically and mentally. She needs to rest, but every time she tries, it goes south.
She wants, she wants- she doesn't know what she wants, til one person comes to her mind; you. The only person who always stands up for her and tells people off for how they treat her. Especially Dr. Saltzman.
Hearing a voice calling her name, she zones back in. Her nails start digging into her palms, not wanting to breakdown in front of everyone who's in the room.
"Hope? Hope are you okay?" Josie asks, worried about her friend.
She shakes her head, "y-y/n, I want y/n" she mumbles.
"Okay, I'll go get her" Josie softly says, and stands up from the couch where she was sitting next to her.
Walking through the school's hallways, she sees you sitting with Pedro and some of his friends through the window, outside.
Josie walks out the doors and over to you. "Hey y/n, you need to come with me. It's hope" She says, causing you to pause the game you were playing with the kids.
"Of course! Sorry kiddos, we can continue tomorrow" You exclaim and stand up, getting nods from the kids and follow Josie over to where Hope is sitting.
As soon as you see Hope, you immediately vamp over to her.
Josie leaves you both, not wanting to intrude on anything personal that may happen.
"Hope, what happened?" You ask softly, worry etched on your face as you crouch down in front of her so you're at eye level.
She looks at you with tears in her eyes and her hands start shaking as she also shakes her head, not wanting to talk about it here.
"Okay baby, let's go to the room" you softly say while guiding her to stand up. You guys quickly walk back to your shared dorm room with your arm around her waist.
Walking into the room, you lead her over to the bed (which is both of your guys' beds pushed together) and sit side by side against the headboard.
"Am I a bad person?" She whimpers, looking up into your eyes.
"What? No baby, of course your not. Why would you even think that?" You bring your hands up to hold her face in your hands.
"I-I killed my m-m..." She starts before a sob wracks her body.
You pull her into you, wrapping your arms around her quivering form. You bring one hand up and place it on the back of her head, trailing your fingers through her wavy hair.
"Hope, I need you to listen to me very clearly. It's not your fault what happened and you didn't kill your mom, your dad, or your uncle. It's not your fault, it never has been and it never will be," you tell her and place a kiss on the crown of her head.
She nods into your shoulder, listening to every word you said. You feel a couple of her tears drop onto your skin and her arms squeezing around your torso, never wanting you to leave.
"It's not my fault" she whispers against your skin.
"That's right, it's not your fault" you reassure her.
Hope starts to even out her breathing as her tears subside. Someone's actually here with her, someone who doesn't blame her or hate her or scared she'll turn out like her father. Someone who loves her for just her, and no other reason than that.
Though that doesn't mean thoughts don't intrude into her mind, making her think it's all her imagination and if she looks the other way you'll dissappear.
"Y/n/n?" She murmers. "Yeah?" You softly speak, hearing the waver in her voice.
"You're always gonna be here, right?" She leans up on her elbows to look at your face.
"Of course I am, baby. Don't think for one second that I won't. I promise that you'll never be alone, I'm always going to be here for you, no matter what" you hold her face in your hands, rubbing away the dried tear tracks displayed on her cheeks with your thumbs.
"Always and forever?" She says so quietly that the only reason you heard it was because of your vamp hearing.
"Always and forever" you whisper back and place a gentle kiss to her lips.
She snuggles back in her spot, her head nuzzling into your chest, smelling traces of your lavender perfume. The scent starts soothing her into a peaceful state. At the same time your running your hands through her hair, knowing she loves the rhythm of your fingers on her head.
"Just so you know, next time Alaric brings anything up to try and win a petty argument, I'm going to kick his ass so hard he won't be able to sit for a month" you tell her in a soothing voice, making her giggle at how calm you are about what you just said.
"I don't doubt it" she says. "And you're going to get in trouble one day for calling him by his first name" she smiles, knowing your antics.
"If he wants me to call him 'Dr. Saltzman' then he has to earn my respect first, and he's not even close to it" you inform her, shaking your head at the thought of your guys' asshole of a headmaster.
"So I'm guessing never" she grins. "Correct. He's a jackass anyways" you kiss her head.
"Y/n!" She laughs.
"Hey! I'm just stating facts!" You laugh with her.
"You wanna know a secret?" You ask her and she nods her head.
You lean down to her ear and whisper, "I love you!"
She shudders from your lips grazing against her ear lightly. "I love you too" she smiles, never wanting to leave this moment
She nuzzles her head deeper into your chest, "we should stay like this forever" she whispers.
"Good idea" you say, wrapping your arms tightly around your beautiful and amazing girlfriend.
Safe to say, you guys aren't going to leave for a long time.
#AMikaelsonReunion
-Storyline with #Klaus @hybridofnola-
-âYou arenât my father.â I stormed out of school after having a huge argument with Alaric. He had no idea why dark magic was so important to me and couldn't understand it.
No one in town knew that I was preparing to do something big or that I had realized that I had powers of my own. When I took a dive into the Malivore pit, which erased everyone's memory of me, it made me realize something.
There was only one person who I wanted back, and I was the only person who could do that. I rushed over to the town library, but unfortunately it was closed for the evening. I grabbed hold of the door handles and began to shake it.
"Hello!" I shouted and started banging on the door as loudly as I could. "Is anyone there?" After a few minutes, I ran to the back and looked up. I saw a window that was partially opened. I climbed the tree closest to me and jumped onto the ledge.
I held on to it and climbed my way into the building. Not knowing how far down the ground was, I ended up letting go and feeling my body hit the hard tile. I mumbled softly in pain and slowly stood up. Grabbing my left arm right away for protection and knowing I must have broken or sprained it.
I shook my head and walked over to the books that were now all about legends and their historical background. With my free hand, I searched for hours for the book I needed and pulled out a book. I blew on it and got rid of all the dust.
After coughing a few times, I opened the book and started flipping through the pages. âResurrecting The Dead.â I read what I needed, lit a few candles around the room, and took out my dad's necklace. I placed it on the table and began to read the spell out loud in a different language.
The room temperature dropped as the building started to shake. Once I was done reading the spell, I heard a loud explosion and collapsed to the ground.-
No one at the Salvatore Boarding School ever thought they would come face to face with a real mermaid, let alone a siren. Sure the students had heard stories about sirens from headmaster Saltzman, but they never thought theyâd meet one. These students had fought loads of different monsters that emerged from Malivore, all of them having been forgotten by society. In a way, this was kind of like that but without all the killings.
It was a rather hot day at the school so of course the only way to not die of heat stroke was to have a pool day. Kaleb was grilling some burgers, someone was blasting music through a speaker they had got their hands on, and the teens were basking in the rays of sun. It wasnât every day that they got to be ânormalâ teenagers, so for once in their lives they grasped the day by itâs handles and just prayed to god that it never ended. Thatâs how some of them felt, Jed on the other hand was about to dig is eardrums out of his head. It wasnât the music playing through the speaker that had his ears bleeding, it was the sound of a humming that was coming from far out in the distant.
Jed has no idea how he heard it, but he did and it was the most annoying thing on the planet. He was trying to enjoy the day with his friends, forget about all the troubles for once, but this was just absolutely dreadful. Standing up from the pool angrily, the werewolf threw on a t-shirt and shoes and decided against his best intentions that he would follow the sound and see where it takes him. His friends watched as he hastily walked through the trees, mumbling to himself that he was losing his mind and hearing things that no one else could hear.
His friends followed him, abandoning their carefree day and wondering behind the wolf to see where he would lead them. Though they tried to call out his name to get his attention, it seemed it didnât matter as he just walked farther and farther along until they all reached the lake that was infamous for itâs summer parties.
Jed stopped at the edge of the water, looking out into it as if he was waiting for someone- or rather something- to emerge from the depths of the water.Â
Out of curiosity, Kaleb came up from behind, clapping him on the shoulder to get his attention. It seemed to work, the boy turning to his friend with a shocked expression on his face.Â
âMan, why did you walk all the way out here for?â Kaleb was worried for his friend, it wasnât like him to just up and wonder around aimlessly.Â
Jed looked at the vampire with almost dead eyes, as if he had been drawn there without knowing it. Without saying a word he turned his attention back to the water, where ripples began to form and the shadow of what looked like a person moved under the lake. Everyone watched as the shadow moved gently and delicately, not knowing it was being watched.
Y/N, the shadow being watched closely, had no clue that a werewolf had heard her song from so far away. If someone had heard her song it meant that they were meant to be together, they were what some would call âmatesâ. Never in a million years did she think she would find her mate, but she would be surprised in just a few minutes. Poking her head out of the water she began to make her way to the edge of the lake, her tail splashing against the water with every movement.Â
The group of teens watched as the scene unfolded in front of them and they finally saw what was under the water. It was a mermaid, no- it was a siren.
As if on cue, Y/N began to sing without knowing that the teens were only a few feet away from her. The sound of her voice grew Jed in closer again, this time he walked around the edge of the lake until he was where the siren was. Y/N was too lost in the song to realize that there was now a werewolf standing above her.Â
When she heard the crunching of leaves and twigs her eyes snapped open, eyes widening and then dilating. Fear coursed through her veins which causes her fangs to unsheathe themselves, along with her talons. Y/N hissed at the stranger, moving back as quickly as her body would let her. The team noticed this and rushed over to where Jed and the mermaid were, all of them getting ready for a fight. What they didnât notice though was the fact that the girl in the water was absolutely terrified about all the people that were suddenly around her.
Jed had snapped out of the trance, his eyes refocusing and finally realizing where he was. âWhat-what is going on?â He looked around, confused as to what had happened and why he couldnât remember walking all the way out to the woods. His friends looked at him as if they expected him to just automatically remember what he was doing and why they all walked out so far.
Y/N was still sitting there in the water watching all of them, wondering what they were going to do to her. If they were like any of the other humans, or even supernatural creatures, theyâd try to capture her and sell her.
Josie was the first to make a move and step closer to the mermaid. She reached her hand out gently, showing that she wasnât a threat. This eased Y/Nâs anxiety a little bit, but not enough. âItâs okay, weâre not here to hurt you.â Josieâs voice was soft, as if she were talking to a child. Her head turned to the group who was trying to put a game plan together. âYou brought our friend to you, we just wanted to know why.âÂ
Y/Nâs tail was still swishing behind her vigorously, but she had a weird gut feeling that she could trust the girl talking to her. Her talons retracted and she felt her fangs sink back into her gums. Y/Nâs y/e/c eyes looked back between Josie and the other teens. Her gaze landed on Jed, who coincidently turned to look at her in return. Their eyes locked, a weird fuzzy feeling swarming in both of their chests. It then hit the mermaid that the only reason why Jed heard her song and the rest of his friends didnât is because he was her mate.Â
This had to be wrong.
As fast as she could, Y/N moved her hand in front of her face and vanished from their sight. Though they couldnât see her, they heard the swishing of water as she dove further into the lake. Josie looked back at the group, confused and unsure of what to do.
Seeing as though Y/N was not a danger to her or anyone else, the teens decided it was best to head back to school and figure out what to do next. While Jedâs friends were walking away he just stood there, waiting for her to resurface. There was no luck. Huffing in defeat, Jed followed after his friends.Â
-
Once the group arrived back to the school they were met with an angry headmaster. âWhat have I said about leaving the grill unattended? Youâre luck the school didnât burn down and that Wade turned it off before one of the kids got to it.â Oh he was angry. Simple things like this are what can set Mr. Saltzman over the edge sometimes, and this is just one of those times.Â
As he went to lecture the teens further he noticed how everyone seemed shaken up almost. He asked them what was wrong, and was surprised by what they told him. The adult quickly ushered his students inside and led them to the library. Sure he had come in contact with Sirens before, when the twins were still very young, but those sirens were different. They didnât have tails and they were being used by âThe Devilâ and doing his bidding.Â
âAre you going to tell us whatâs going on?â Hope asked as she watched her teacher go digging through books until he found one he was looking for. He flipped page after page until he found the picture of a mermaid, then flipped it around to verify with the kids that this what they saw.Â
Lizzie rolled her eyes as her dad started rambling on about how the sirens that heâs encountered never had tails, but did like the water, how they didnât have talons or fangs, it went on for a little bit before the other twin interjected. âSo what if this siren is different than those two that tried to kill us when we were little? Did you see how scared she was when she saw us? Thereâs no way sheâll ever come near us.â
All eyes landed on Jed, who had zoned out yet again. Jed snapped out of his trance and looked up to everyone staring at him. âI think I need to go back out there.â He said looking between all his friends. They all had a âwhy the hell would you want to do thatâ look, plastered on their faces. âI felt something out there, when I looked at her. Not when I was in that trance, but when I actually looked at her.â He sighed as he realized no one else is going to understand what he was saying because they didnât feel it.Â
There was a small pause between all the chatter, no one really knowing what to say since this was such an odd situation. Hope was the first one to speak up, which was not a surprise to anyone. âIf you want to go back out there weâll support you on it.â With that being the only thing said the group went to put an emergency bag together just in case this mystery girl came out of the water ass-naked.Â
While the teens were headed back to the lake, Y/N was drying herself off and getting ready to book it back to the main road and skip town. If the word got out that she had been spotted then all the people that had been after her before would definitely be coming after her again.
The thoughts of that strange boy being her mate kept making her stomach churn, in both good and bad ways. She didnât want a mate, she never wanted out mainly because she always had the idea that they would never truly love her. Sheâs spent her life on the run, hiding from hunters and black market dealers. There werenât very many sirens like her anymore, so catching one meant big bucks for the capture.
Once Y/N was ready to go she started making her way through the forest, trying to stay as quiet as she could just in case there were other things out in the woods. Before she could head out on the road she had to grab her belongs from the hotel she was staying in, seeing as though she didnât want to leave any evidence of her being here behind.
Lost in her own train of though, the siren hadnât even realized that she was about to cross paths with the group of teens again, who were not going to be ready to see a fully dressed siren wondering around the woods. Y/Nâs head perked up as soon as she heard the crunching of leaves growing louder and louder. Before she could try to find a place to hide she was met face to face with her mate and his friends, all of them holding a bit of surprise in their faces as they saw her standing in front of them.Â
âYou- you can walk.â Jed stuttered out.Â
Y/N scoffed, âOf course I can walk, and I can talk.â The tone in her voice was anything but friendly, a little warning sign for them to back off. When the group didnât say anything, Y/N started to walk past them, hoping that theyâd just let her go in peace.Â
How she was wrong.
As she started to walk past Jed had had reached out and grabbed her wrist, a rookie mistake for anyone who didnât know how insanely strong a siren was. Without hesitation Y/N turned around, hand landing flat against the werewolfâs chest. It was a flat handed punch of sorts, strong enough to send Jed flying a few feet away from her. The group watched as she did it so effortlessly, not even batting an eye as Jed struggled to regain his breathe and get up.Â
For whatever reason, whether it was the mating bond or just the growing feelings for the girl, Jed was seeing stars and not just from how hard he had just hit his head.Â
âWhat the hell was that for? We werenât going to hurt you!â Lizzie yelled angrily, throwing her hands up in the air. Y/N shrugged.
âI do not like being touched, and I do not like any of you.â She stated simply. âNow, if you donât mind.â As she went to make her way past them again, Hope stood in her way, a sarcastic grin on her face.
âYeah, youâre not going anywhere till you tell us why Jed is the only one whoâs able to hear your siren song.â The Tribrid crossed her arms over her chest as she awaited an answer.
Sighing, Y/N looked back at Jed who was standing up and making his way back to his friends. The siren looked back at the teens with a straight face. âHe can hear my siren song because, unfortunately for the both of us, he is my mate.â
There were small gasps from the group, but noy from Jed. When Y/N looked back at the young wolf he was smiling, like he was actually happy about the announcement.Â
âYouâre my mate? No wonder I was in such a daze, I mean of course it was probably your siren song, but I could feel the bond and how close you were and all I wanted to do was to just come find you-â Jedâs ranting was caught off by Y/N putting her hand in the air to get him to shut up.
âYouâre happy about this? Wouldnât you rather be with someone of your own kind? A fellow werewolf?â Y/N questioned.Â
Jed shook his head as he took a bold step forward to the girl, âIâm just happy I found you, I never thought Iâd find my mate.â If it werenât for the fact that everyone else was around the two mates, Jed probably would have tried to kiss Y/N, but he knew it was much too soon for that. Plus, sheâd probably throw him against a tree again.
There was a silence as no one had any clue of what to say, but one thing was for sure and everyoneâs stomachs were growling for the barbequed food they had left behind at the school.Â
Kaleb clapped his hands together to gain everyoneâs attention, âWhy donât we head back to the school, get something to eat, and you two can uh- sort this whole thing out. Sound like a plan?â Before anyone could say anything he started walking back in the direction of the school, the others following behind him.Â
Y/N was going to wait till they were far enough ahead and then make a run for it, but when she went to turn around she hit her face straight into Jedâs chest. The boy was smiling down at her, which was kind of creepy in a way, but he couldnât help it. Jed started walking behind his friends, and reluctantly Y/N followed them.
Reaching the school felt like it took hours since they were all so hungry, but as soon as they reached the grill where all the food was still warm it felt well worth the wait. Everyone started to fill their plates, talking and passing food. Though Y/N was hungry, she didnât want to eat anything that was handed to her just in case they were trying to drug her or something. Instead, she went to the deep end of the pool and sat at the edge, her shoes discarded behind her as she dipped her feet in the water. She sighed in relief as she let the coolness of the water calm her down.
Unlike most mermaids who donât have control of when they shift into the fishy form, Y/N did. She was old and had learned many spells that had helped her gain control of her shifting over the years. She closed her eyes and imagined she was home, deep in the ocean where no one could find her, where it was quiet calm. She hated the land, the people there were too greedy for their own good.Â
Her peace was disturbed as Jed sat next to her, water splashing as his feet were submerged into the water. Y/N opened her eyes, narrowing them at the boy. She knew it was a bit irrational to be so angry over something so small, but she was just angry at everything at the moment. Jed smiled as he handed her plate of food, hoping that sheâd takt it. It took a little nudge, but eventually Y/N took the food and slowly started to eat bits and pieces of it.Â
âYou know, if you donât want to talk about it right now, we donât have to. I just want you to know that Iâd really like to get to know you, and for you to get to know me. I can feel the mistrust, the anxiety, but weâre not going to hurt you.â There was a pause as he looked into Y/Nâs eyes, really meaning his next words, âIâm not going to hurt you.âÂ
Y/N was silent as she looked down at her plate of food, most of it already gone and she hadnât even realized. Jed chuckled softly, knowing that she was probably starving deep down.Â
âI do not trust anyone.â Y/N said slowly, which caught the rest of the group by surprise. âMany people, supernatural or not, want to hunt me, kill me, or sell me. I do not trust anyone.â Y/Nâs eyes glanced up for a split second, just long enough to see the sadness that rested on everyoneâs features.Â
Jed gently put his hand on Y/Nâs knee, and thankfully she didnât move back from him. âWe wonât let anything happen to you.â He smiled softly, the action warming Y/Nâs cold heart just enough to make her smile a little bit.Â
Maybe it wouldnât be so bad, to have a mate that was a werewolf. Maybe it wouldnât be bad to stick around and see what happens. Just maybe.
BLOOD LIKE POISON (III)- LEGACIES
Summary: Faith Mikaelson has always felt different from her sister. She felt as if there was ominous inside of her that she was sure Hope didn't feel. After losing their parents the two siblings became a lot closer. Whether it was the fact that they didn't want to risk losing each other as well or because they realized that they only had each other left, they did everything they could to protect each other. But things get a lot more difficult when a creature named Malivore starts sending monsters to the Salvator boarding school which forces the students to fight the monsters in order to protect themselves. During this inevitable battle, Faith finds someone who she ends up making an unexpected connection with and she finds out that she may not be as alone as she originally thinks.
"ALRIGHT GATHER TOGETHER,"Â Dorian said during one of their classes. Everyone then joined hands. Faith was to Josie's left, while Lizzie was to her right. Hope was two seats down from her sister's left. "Chain spells are about the fluid movement of energy from one witch to witch. Where's Penelope Park?" Dorian asked stopping in between Lizzie and Josie.
"Um, lady cramps, Mr. Williams," Lizzie told him making Faith smirk in amusement.
"Sorry, I asked." He said before continuing his teaching. "A disharmonious group makes for an uneven flow." Some people tried to stifle their laughter at the unintended joke, but failed; including Faith, Lizzie, and Josie. Hope just rolled her eyes at their childish behavior. "Okay..." Then a letter flew in and Dorian grabbed it.
"Uh-oh, who's in trouble with the headmaster?" Josie asked.
"Probably the people who started a rumble with the local high school," Hope said giving Lizzie a look.
"Well, we did do something bad too, Hope," Faith whispered leaning closer to her sister to not be heard by Lizzie and Josie. Hope rolled her eyes muttering something under her breath.
"Lizzie Saltzman, Josie Saltzman. And babies make four." Dorian told them reading the letter. "Off you go." The girls give each other a confused look.
â
"THIS MAKES NO SENSE DAD. Why are we being punished?" Lizzie asked irritated as they followed Alaric through the library.
"Because you started a brawl at a charity football game that risked exposing what we really do here," Alaric explained.
"Well, you weren't mad last night," Lizzie argued.
"I was mad last night. My undying love for my daughters just happened to trump my rage. I volunteered everyone in the game, so stop complaining." Alaric said as they stopped walking. "You're lucky that it's just community service and not actual jail time."
"Can I at least offer my rebuttal in my defense, if it pleases the court?" Lizzie asked dramatically. Alaric crosses his arms but listens. "First of all, I was provoked. My response was totally proportional considering the levels of abuse I was forced to endure." Hope chuckled in amusement at what she was saying. "And secondly... if anyone should take the blame, it's Josie." She finished making Josie give her an incredulous look as did Faith.
"What?" Josie questioned, betrayal written on her face.
"I'm sorry. I totally cracked under the cross, but if you had just let Kaleb catch the ballâ"
"You'd still be in trouble," Alaric said breaking up their bickering.
"But nice job throwing your sister under the bus," Hope said.
"Yeah, Lizzie not cool." Faith agreed.
"Thank you, Hope and Faith," Josie said thanking the girls for defending her. Though that thanks was mostly directed at Hope considering she never defends Josie. But Faith would always defend Josie no matter what and she knew this. Faith would always defend Lizzie too, but in this case, she was the one in the wrong. Lizzie gave a shocked look to Josie at her thanking Hope.
"Speaking of, the bus leaves in ten minutes, and I expect all four of you to be on it working together today, harmoniously and without drama," Alaric told them sternly. "End of debate."
"We weren't even at the game. Why are we being punished?" Hope asked. Faith already knew what they were in trouble for.
"You two know what you did," Alaric said giving the girls a look. "Alright, now, go, all of you. Come on. Faith you wait here I have something to give you." Alaric said pointing to Faith. Josie and Lizzie left but not before giving Faith a questioning gaze. She just shrugged in response not knowing what Alaric needed from her either.
"Seriously?" Hope questioned Alaric.
"What part of what I said needs translating?"
"I want to help you with research."
"Dorian has a master's degree in library science," Alaric said, while Faith just waited patiently. "I think the adults have it covered."
"That's not fair," Hope said walking closer to Alaric. "You only play by the grown-up rules when you don't need something from me."
"Hope, seriously, it's the least we can do after what we did with Landon," Faith said looking at her sister.
"I am spinning right now, Hope. And I can't drag you or anyone else any further into this until I figure out what's going on, okay?" Alaric said. "So right now, I need you to be a kid keeping a dragon-sized secret today until I get some answers." Hope gave him an incredulous look. "Understood?"
"Yeah. Fine." Hope said reluctantly. Alaric then turned to Faith and walked over to her. He placed something in her hands. Faith looked down and saw a small bag with something inside it. She opened it to see the calming herbs she used to take to help keep her anger and sadness in control.
"I don't... need these anymore," Faith said looking up at him.
"Faith, just in case, take them. Okay?" Alaric asked. Faith thought about it and nodded muttering an 'okay' before taking off to leave with her sister. She put the bag with the herbs in her pocket, making a mental note to store them in her room later for safekeeping.
"Make sure you take those," Hope told her sister continuing to look straight ahead while they were walking to the bus.
"I know, I will," Faith said reassuring her sister.
â
"SO WHAT DID YOU GUYS DO?"Â Lizzie asked as they were getting out of the bus. "My dad never gets mad at you guys. You're the prodigal daughters." Lizzie said bitterly making Faith slightly roll her eyes. "Must have been juicy." The girls got off the bus.
"Sorry, no time for girl talk. Public service awaits." Hope replied bluntly.
"Alright, listen up." Dorian starts. "It's a beautiful day. You have options: litter, weeds, graffiti. Your choice." He finished, handing Kaleb a trash grabber. He snatched it from Dorian reluctantly.
"It's bad enough we get punished while the humans get a pass, but there ain't no way in hell I'm picking up their garbage," Kaleb said trying to hand Lizzie the trash grabber she put her hands up.
"Uh, I don't do trash either," Lizzie said.
"I love trash, as of this moment," Hope said grabbing the trash grabber she then turned to her sister. "Faith, join me?" Faith nodded grabbing the same device Hope had from Dorian, and they both started to walk away.
"Perf. It suits you, Hope." Lizzie said making Faith and Hope turn around and glare at her. "Looks like we're scrubbing paint today," Lizzie told her sister.
"Dad told us to work together, okay, harmoniously," Josie argued.
"Yeah, and he also said without drama, and I am feeling a rage attack coming on, so I will be remaining drama-free over by that wall of graffiti," Lizzie said. "Are you coming or not?"
"I don't know, Lizzie, is there another bus you want to throw me under?" Josie asked rhetorically walking away and to the opposite side of Lizzie, while Hope and Faith watched their interaction.
"Fine, Daddy's girls," Lizzie said bitterly making Hope smirk a little. "Anyone else?" They then started to walk in the opposite direction towards the graffiti wall. "Get the lead out MG." MG walked off turning and giving Josie, Faith, and Hope an apologetic look before leaving again with everyone else but the three girls. Josie and Faith sighed.
â
AFTER A WHILE OF PICKING UP TRASHÂ Hope spoke up,
"You have a future in waste management." She said with a small smile.
"Cleaning up messes is kind of my thing," Josie replied. Faith understood what she meant. Lizzie makes big messes when she's feeling very strong emotions and needs a release. Faith and Josie occasionally help her get through it and clean up the mess together.
"Well, your sister is kind of a dumpster fire," Hope said.
"Seriously, Hope?" Faith questioned. "At least make an attempt to be polite."
"Why do you always pick fights?" Josie asked her. "We've known each other a decade and any time you have the chance, you poke. Faith doesn't, so why do you?"
"You guys do your fair share of poking," Hope said annoyed.
"Yeah, in retaliation to your pokes," Josie explained. "And with you spending so much time with my dad and keeping secrets..."
"We're not keeping secrets." Hope and Faith said at the same time.
"Oh, yeah? What happened when you went to go find Landon Kirby? And Faith what did my dad give you when we left? It must've been important if he didn't want to give it to you in front of the rest of us." Hope and Faith started walking faster in a different direction hoping to evade the girl's questions.
"Nothing happened," Hope replied.
"Nothing important." Faith retorted at the same time as her sister.
"Something clearly did happen. Rafael never showed up at school, Faith, you haven't talked to us since you've been back, and my dad was rattled, so why won't you just tell me?"
"Because there's nothing to tell. Aah!" Faith looked at her sister to see she stabbed herself in the foot with the trash grabber she then grimaced and walked over to her.
"Oh, my god," Josie exclaimed seeing what happened.
"Aah! Ow," Hope said with a look of pain.
"Are you okay? I mean, what should I do?" Josie asked crouching down beside Hope's foot.
"Let's just help her pull it out," Faith told Josie.
"What?" Josie questioned in disbelief.
"I can heal myself. Pull it out." Hope ordered. Josie then started to pull it out with both hands grunting in struggle; Hope wincing in pain, but she still couldn't seem to pull it all the way.
"Move over," Faith ordered Josie. She moved out of the way and Faith stood in front of her sister pulling the object out easily with one hand.
"Ow!"
"You poked yourself," Josie told Hope with a large smile. Then all three girls burst into laughter.
"Shut up," Hope said still chuckling.
â
AFTER A WHILE WHEN THE GIRLS FILLED THEIRÂ garbage bags they started stacking them on top of each other. All of a sudden Josie clutched her stomach and doubled over in pain groaning.
"You ok, Jo?" Faith asked worriedly.
"Yeah, everything ok?" Hope asked sounding concerned as well.
"Yeah, I just think that that's making me a little nauseous," Josie answered looking behind Faith and Hope making them turn their heads to see M.G. making out with Dana.
"Huh," Hope muttered. "Didn't see that coming."
"Gross." Faith mumbled scrunching up her nose.
"It's simple math. M.G. has the hormones of a teenager and the impulse control of a preschooler." Josie explained making Hope chuckle. "He also always goes for the wrong kinds of girls."
"Given my last crush, I can't judge," Hope said as they began walking.
"Well, my last crush was actually Satan incarnate," Josie said and Faith vigorously nodded making Hope chuckle. "That is, I guess unless you count..." Josie trailed off.
"Who?" Hope inquired. Faith knew she meant Rafael. Josie looked to Faith who just shrugged as if to say 'you decide if you want to tell her'.
"Never mind. It really doesn't matter anymore." Josie dismissed. "Lizzie has dibs."
"Dibs?" Hope questioned. "On Rafael? She always calls dibs. When's it gonna be your turn?"
"It just is what it is," Josie muttered. Faith stayed quiet agreeing with what Hope was saying. Lizzie did always call dibs on boys and that wasn't really fair on Josie considering she never got a chance to see if she liked anyone.
"Right, well, that doesn't really make it right." Hope stated causing Josie to stop walking and give her a look. Hope and Faith stopped walking too. "Your dad knows we used black magic. That's why we're in trouble." Hope half-lied purposefully leaving out the part about Landon and the death spell. "Don't worry we didn't tell him that you helped us with the spell." Hope quickly added.
"Thank you," Josie said looking at both Hope and Faith.
"No need for thanks, Josie." Faith said with a small smile.
"And Landon and Rafael took off together," Hope said. " Landon told me he didn't know why he stole the knife. But then he lied about having it, so I don't know what to believe. Then he wrote me and Faith these letters and mine was... I don't know, sweet."
"Lizzie's... sensitive." Josie started wanting to open up to Hope as she did with her. "Our mom is going on these really long recruitment missions recently. That's why she's extra testy. She just really misses her."
"We know the feeling," Hope spoke softly with a small smile glancing at Faith.
"Yeah." Faith spoke just as softly giving her sister a sad smile. Hope started walking again and Faith and Josie followed.
"I remember how your mom used to come by the school. We all used to say how beautiful she was." Josie said.
"She was," Faith said.
"Yeah." Hope agreed.
"We really should have sent you flowers or something, Hope," Josie said guiltily.
"Huh?" Faith questioned in confusion. "But I thought that you gave her a gift too," Faith said remembering how kind and comforting Lizzie and Josie were to her, and the flowers they gave her which were her favorite; Cherry Blossoms, and a gift basket. Then she remembered her sister getting flowers from them too. Josie looked at her with the same guilty expression as before shifting her gaze to the ground.
"They did," Hope told her sister referring to Josie and Lizzie. "Your dad signed your names. It was obvious." Faith understood that they gave her something but not Hope and she couldn't help but wonder if that was Lizzie's idea.
"Okay. We definitely deserve a little bit of poking." Josie said making Hope laugh. "I wonder where the boys are right now."
"There's this spell that our Aunt Freya taught us," Hope said looking at Faith. "It's kind of like a full-immersion video chat."
"Oh. That spell." Faith said in realization.
"Okay, but don't we need something of Landon's to..." Josie trailed off as Hope pulled out Landon's letter. "Is that the letter?" Josie asked.
"You can't tell your dad," Hope said.
"Yeah..." Faith told her. "They don't teach this in school."
Josie nodded and smiled. "This is the kind of secret that I can get behind." Hope smiled while Faith smirked. The three started performing the spell joining hands. Josie siphoned from Hope and Faith. Hope and Faith were able to see Landon and Rafael in the woods and Landon spotted them with a look of confusion on his face.
"Hope? Faith?" He questioned. They gave him a small smile before the scene in front of them disappeared and they were back with Josie who bent over and held her stomach in pain again. Faith looked at her worried and put a hand on her shoulder.
"Jo," Faith began. "What's wrong?"Â
"This is twin pain. Somethings wrong. I think Lizzie's in trouble." Josie grunted out. Faith looked at Hope with a worried expression.
"Let's go tell Dorian." Faith suggested earning nods from the girls. They went to find Dorian who was sitting at a table. "We need to leave."
"I'm sorry, I can't let you leave," Dorian said.
"No, I need to go home to see my sister," Josie said firmly.
"Your dad's with your sister. And I'm under strict orders to keep you here." Dorian told them.
"What? Why?" Josie asked.
"Yeah, what are you keeping us here for?" Faith added.
"And why are you researching that?" Hope questioned looking at Dorian's book that was open to a page about gargoyles. Dorian quickly closed his book with a sigh and told us what happened with Lizzie.
â
THEY LEFT AND WENT BACKÂ to the Salvatore Boarding school when they entered Josie called, "Lizzie?"
"I'll check the library," Hope said.
"Yeah, I'll go too," Faith offered. Hope nodded at her and they left to check the library. They were in complete silence until a voice spoke from behind scaring them.
"What are you guys doing here?"
"Ah!"
"Oh, my god." The two girls yelped in fear.
"You scared us." Faith said breathing out a breath of relief when she saw Alaric there.
"Dorian was supposed to keep you away," Alaric said.
"He tried. He lost," Faith told him. "But here. Killing gargoyles 101. He thought you could translate it." She said giving the book to Alaric.
"Gaulish. Son of a..." Alaric trailed off. Hope and Faith gave him questioning looks before he looked back down to the book.
"So are we on our own, or did the Gauls provide clear instructions?" Hope asked impatiently.
"In a nutshell, it says hit hard, repeat as needed," Alaric replied before they heard the Gargoyle let out a roar.
"Is that...?" Faith inquired referring to the Gargoyle.
"Yeah," Alaric said. "Listen, it poisoned Lizzie. I'm guessing to get my attention. Then it attacked me and took the knife."
"The knife? The dragon knife?" Hope asked incredulously.
"And you're still breathing?" Faith added.
"Oh, I have a theory about that," Alaric mumbled.
"Well, save it," Hope started. "Because we had to take down that containment spell to get inside the school, meaning our monster can get out."
"A containment spell?" Alaric asked. Faith nodded. "Lizzie wanted to make sure whatever attacked her didn't escape into the world. Good girl." Alaric walked over to a table and put the book down. "Alright, well, guess we better find it," He said picking up an axe. "Before it makes the evening news. So how'd you guys take the containment spell down?"Â
Before Hope or Faith had the chance to speak a voice did, "They didn't," Josie spoke up walking towards them. "I did. And I have questions." She grabbed the axe from Alaric.
â
ALARIC, HOPE, FAITH, AND JOSIEÂ walked into a room in search of Emma
"Emma?" Alaric called. "Emma." Emma opened the door in front of them and put a finger to her lips in a 'be quiet' motion. They all heard heavy footsteps and growling so they turned their heads to see the Gargoyle at the top of the steps. It opened its wings and let out a growl before flying down the steps and lunging at Hope making her fall down. It was going to stab her with the knife. Faith quickly leaps forward about to help her sister but Alaric is closer and quicker and jumps in front of Hope.
"Dad!" Josie shouted.
"No!" The Gargoyle stopped its movements; the knife being inches away from Alaric's chest.
Faith held her hand out to Hope who quickly took it pulling herself up while they all stared in shock at what was happening before their eyes. Josie moves as quietly as possible behind the Gargoyle before striking it with the sword making it let out a shriek. It angrily turns toward Josie about to attack her but Alaric hits it with his axe.
"Fluctus inpulsa." Hope chants causing the Gargoyle to drop the knife. "Faith, Josie, help me." She orders. Faith and Josie quickly walk over to her and they join hands; Josie in between Faith and Hope.
"How?" Josie asked.
"Just repeat after me," Hope said.
"Got it," Faith replied.
"Fluctus impulsa." Hope started. Faith and Josie quickly repeated after. "Fluctus inpulss. Flucus inpulsa. Flucus inpulsa. Flucus inpulsa. Flucus inpulsa. Flucus inpulsa." They finished which made the Gargoyle burst into small rocks. They let go of their hands.
"Nice job." Hope threw over her shoulder to all of them.
"How could you jump in front of her like that?" Josie demanded with tears in her eyes. "You could have died, Dad."
"Honey, I knew it wouldn't kill me, because my research said so," Alaric said. Josie stormed away.
â
"HOW'S LIZZIE?" FAITH ASKED WORRIEDLY.
"Recovering quickly, thanks to her sister."
"So, how did you know the Gargoyle wouldn't kill you?" Hope asked.
"Gargoyles are protectors," Alaric answered. "And folklore tells a tale of a Gargoyle who once protected a small settlement in France whose villagers revered a powerful relic. A knife."
"Our knife?" Faith questioned.
"As the story goes, the Gargoyle loved the humans he protected so much, he vowed never to harm humanity." He explained. "Instead, he chose to fight evil on their behalf."
"Us being the evil ones in this scenario," Hope asked referring to her and her sister. "Josie, Lizzie." She continued.
"In its mind, yes," Alaric said. "I realized when it didn't hurt me before... it saw me as the one who needed protection."
"I'm not sure that knowing that will make them feel any better." Faith spoke up.
"I should get back to the girls," Alaric muttered walking towards the door.
"Wait." Hope stopped him. "One more thing. You're always telling us that we need to work together. To put our own feelings aside for the school, and for the community. I know I haven't always listened to you with that kind of stuff, but I'm starting to think that it's actually pretty good advice, so... maybe you should take it. Because if you want me and the twins to get along, for them to be happy, for the school to be safe... These secrets are gonna tear us all apart."
"She's right." Faith agreed. "Everyone deserves to know what's happening so they can protect themselves. Be prepared for whatever's coming through those doors next." Alaric looked to be deep in thought about what they were telling him.
â
"IF YOU'D ASKED ME A WEEK AGO..."Â Alaric started at the assembly they were having. "I would have told you I knew the difference between myth and fact. I would have said that supernaturals were limited to the species under this roof. I would have said that folklore and fairytales were just stories. But I can no longer say that any of that's true. 'Cause just a few days ago, we were confronted by the existence of a dragon." Murmurs spread throughout the room. "And then, today, our campus was terrorized by a Gargoyle come to life. Some of us... were forced to fight. We won. This time. They were drawn here by a knife that went missing earlier this week. And for whatever reason, these creatures consider us to be the enemy. In their minds were the villains because we wouldn't give them what they wanted. We don't even know why they want it. But we're gonna find out. I can't say for sure what their true intentions are. I can't say there won't be more attacks. That's why I'm telling you this. To warn you. To ask you to look out for each other. To do what's best for one another. Because we're more than just a school. We're family. And we will stand together, we will fight together, and we will win or lose this battle together, no matter what comes next."
â
FAITH KNOCKED ON THE DOOR TO JOSIEÂ and Lizzie's room. Lizzie opened it and smiled when she Faith.
"I need to talk to you guys about something." Faith stated walking into the dorm.
"What is it," Josie asked sitting up on her bed and patting the space beside her inviting Faith to sit down. Lizzie sat on the other side of Josie,
"Well, it's about why I've kinda been avoiding you," Faith started when she saw their full attention on her she continued. "Well... It happened again. IâI lost control and it happened." Josie and Lizzie gave each other a look knowing what she was talking about.
"Oh, Faith," Lizzie muttered softly.
"Why do you think it happened? After all this time?" Josie asked.
Faith shrugged, "I don't know. But your dad gave me those herbs that might help it again."
"Why didn't you tell us?' Lizzie asked.
"Well, I guess I was just sort of embarrassed about it," Faith said sheepishly. "I mean I thought it was getting better and for it to just come out of nowhere like this. No one else has this problem, so I felt weak in a way. Like I was too weak to be able to handle my emotions properly that they just ended up spiraling out of control and consuming me." Faith sighed.
"Listen, Faith, you don't have to be embarrassed about it, and you're not weak. You're the strongest person I know. Even after everything you've been through you still keep that same bright smile on your face and I envy you for that. Being able to overcome the pain just to make others and yourself smile." Josie told her. "Believe it or not but you're pretty awesome to be able to do that."
"She's right, Faith, and you're like a sister to usâ you are a sister to us. So you should never feel the need to hide these types of things from us. Because we will always be by your side there to listen." Lizzie added with a smile. Faith smiled softly as well very appreciative of Josie and Lizzie. Her heart warming in her chest. They truly were great, and she didn't know what she would do without them.
"Now how about we talk aboutâ" Lizzie spoke suddenly.
Faith groaned and quickly stood up walking towards the door. "No!"
"Oh, Faith come back!" Lizzie pleaded. "You don't even know what I was gonna say!"
"Yes, I do. I know you well enough to know that you were gonna say 'let's talk about boys'. You know what Lizzie? I'm actually really tired." Faith said stopping by the door. She looked to Josie who had a slight smile on her face. She knew that if she left the conversation like this Lizzie would want to talk about boys with Josie which would be awkward since she has a crush on Rafael. "Aren't you tired, Josie?" Josie looked confused for a moment but eventually caught on.
"Yeahâyeah, I am," She mumbled quickly.
"Butâ" Lizzie started.
"Big spell today," Faith cut Lizzie off. "Takes a lot outta ya'."
"Yeah, it really does." Josie faked a yawn.
"Oh, come on I'm the one who almost died!" Lizzie exclaimed exasperatedly.
"Then you must be super fatigued too. Goodnight, Liz," Faith said ignoring Lizzie's protest. "Night, Jo. Don't keep Josie up Lizzie! Remember she did help save your life so she needs all the sleep she can get to replenish herself." She then walked out of the door and to her and Hope's dorm for some shut-eye.
Okay but imagine if someone had slipped Mali-Landon some of Hope's blood (don't ask me the details of that, just go with it). So when she stabs Landon and kills Malivore, her switch flips still, but she leaves before he wakes up in transition. He feeds, he turns, he's confused - because he should be dead. And he ends up losing control, hurting people. He stays away from the school and Hope because he doesn't want them to see him like that.
Things happen more or less the same. Lizzie still goes after Hope, she still dies. But somewhere in that, Landon finds Hope again. She's different, she's darker, and she doesn't believe that this is really Landon. It's some kind of trick - and a bad one, because Landon isn't a vampire. So she tells him, flippantly, to walk into traffic or something. And he does it.
And then suddenly boom sirebonded handizzie.
#handizzie#i just think it would be fun#and could then continue with or without her humanity#like a dark storyline where she abuses the bond and makes them evil with her#or her humanity comes back and now they have to navigate things as they search for how to break the bond
29 - Not Klausâs Plan
Part 30
Family is More than Blood
@secretdreamlandmentality @icefrye19
Klausâs pov
Standing outside Raelynâs bedroom I was quiet enough so that she couldnât hear me. She was currently peacefully sleeping in her bed and I had decided to stay in the other room of the mansion. Clasping my hand together behind my back I turned my head confused seeing my wife stirring in her sleep. âWhatâs troubling her this time?â
I was aware she had nightmares after Jaocb died because of her familyâs poor communication. But she should have nothing to fear now that he was alive as a heretic like she is. âRaelynâŚâ I whispered vamping over to her bedside about to touch her shoulder.
âUrgh!â She winced but I drew my hand back before I even had the chance to touch her. Shifting my gaze it took me a second before I saw her shoulder turn red and there was a hand touching her back clearly siphoning her.
Clicking my tongue I snagged the wrist that was siphoning her and the person winced when I growled quietly under my breath. âShow yourself witch!â
âUncle Klaus, stop it.â I recognized the voice of Elizabeth Saltzman who revealed herself visibly to me quickly.
Another voice also came to the surface showing me Josie. âWe were trying to bring her memories back.â
âI didnât tell you to do anything of the sort!â I accidentally raised my tone of voice hearing my wife tossing in her sleep so I focused my attention back to the siphon twins. âWhose idea was this exactly?â
Lizzie rolled her eyes slightly. âI donât know why Hope thought this was gonna work.â
âGather whoever else came up with this ridiculous plan and meet me down at the old Lockwood cellar immediately.â I declared to the girls before they left the room. Running my fingers through my curls I sighed heavily in frustration not wanting them to do any spells on her. The only thing they should be focusing on is getting the Hollowâs magic out of Alyssa so then I could handle her accordingly on my own terms. It took them a lot longer than I cared for but half of them are mortals and donât have super speed like most of us. Shoving my hands inside my black jacket I heard multiple heartbeats entering the abandoned cellar. âYouâre late. I thought I made it clear that this meeting was urgent.â
âSorry if one of us is pregnant and also we didnât want to wake Rapunzel and Charming in the middle of the night.â Alina crossed her arms over her chest wearing one of Jacksonâs shirts and some baggy pants.
Missy rubbed the sleep from her eyes. âWhy the late night emergency meeting dad. Is it another Malivore monster?â
âStop playing dumb, girls. I found the Saltzmanâs in your motherâs room. So tell me what you think is okay to bring back your motherâs memories back without asking me.â Throwing my hands away from my sides I flashed my werewolf eyes at Lizzie and Josie who were standing in the corner.
Hope remained by the cellar exit leaning against the wall. âYeah it was my idea dad but can you blame me after knowing how mom changed you. Weâve all read Dr. Saltzmanâs journals on you before she came into your life.â
âThat doesnât give you the right to not ask my permission first.â I snapped back at her.
Lizzie scoffed towards her uncle. âWeâre not kids anymore. Weâve done a lot of stuff without my fathers permission.â
âLizzie.â Josie whispered under her breath.
Glaring at the twins I growled not liking how this conversation was going at this point. Straightening my back I moved my gaze between my daughters and my supposed nieces. âYou may be or almost be adults but it doesnât mean that you get to do whatever you wish. We are all working together to make your mother fall in love with meâŚagain.â
Missy eyed at me silently for a second slowly walking forward until we were standing almost chest to chest. âDad, donât yell at me but youâre afraid that she might not fall in love with you again arenât you?â
âThatâs completely ridiculous, Melissa.â Rolling my eyes I was in disbelief.
The heretic teenager spoke up again. âNo it has to be true, dad. Why else would you say we can help but when we try, you get all bent out of shape.â
âBecause it's a risk if she never loves me again.â I spat at the group.
Alina shakes her head at me. âSo we're just supposed to cross our fingers and pray that you can charm her all over again for the fun of it. All along when we know that Josie can do a memory spell and she can return to her old self with no problems.â
âWe have no clue if that spell is strong enough to undo what the Hollowâs magic did.â Dropping my hands at my sides I sighed heavily leaning against the cold wall. âI donât want to say goodbye to herâŚshe's the only woman I have ever loved.â
Lizzie put her hands on her hips. âThatâs sweet. But we should do something to bring her back.â
âShe's right, Uncle Klaus. But I understand if you want her to at least trust you before we do a memory spell on her.â Josie points out softly.
Hope shifted her gaze upward to me crossing her arms over her chest not saying anything for a few minutes. âI donât think this is necessary to my previous plan but you're the one who knows our mother best so I guess we have no choice but to go with your plan dad.â
âGood that's settled then. I'll make your mother fall in love with me on my own terms.â Clasping my hands together I vamped off and the kids all headed back to the school until the sun would rise in a few hours. But unknown to the group Josieâs spell had started making an effort on Raelyn Lane-Mikaelson.
Raelynâs pov
Walking through the streets of Mystic Falls I was wearing a long tan coat, a red sweater, some blue jeans and brown boots. Tying my hair up in a ponytail just taking a morning stroll by myself. I didnât sleep very well last night feeling something poking around in my head and so I couldn't sleep which made me decide to get up and take a walk. I was about to enter the grill until pain shot through my head where I stumbled against the brick wall leaning against it seeing some odd images flashing through my mind.
Pushing the door open with my foot I shake my head giggling at him sitting at the bar. âWhat makes you think of coming here of all places, Niklaus?â
Klaus sat down on a barstool holding up a glass of bourbon and he tilted his head down at the drink for me. âThis particular place is special to you and I. This is the first place we ever met one another.â
âI remember every detail. I launched you into that wall with my magic.â I climbed up on my barstool picking up my drink taking a long sip still smiling longingly at him
Nik tilted his head to the side smirking. âAnd it hurt very much, love. All for asking you for your name.â
âNow we are married and have four kids. Weâre certainly a long way from the big bad wolf.â Raising my glass I clonked it with his when he responded back to me grinning
âAnd his siphon Gemini runaway. I love you, Raelyn. Always have and always will..â He leans forward pressing his lips against mine softly sitting his glass down he cupped my face in his hands deepening the kiss.
Wrapping my arms around his neck I kissed him back smiling into the kiss. I savor the feeling remembering the night we met so clearly and I was proud to see where I was now. âI love you too, Klaus. Always have and always will.â
Sliding down the brick wall beside me I groaned, feeling a rather bad headache shooting through my forehead. âWhat the hell is happening to me?â I mumbled to myself gripping the ends of my hair in between my fingers.
âRaelyn.â Someone called my name but I clutched my eyes shut seeing another memory that must be fake because I donât know the hybrid that everyone thinks I supposedly do.
I giggled moving it out of my view seeing that he was hovering above me now and we were still close like we were before. Raising my hands over my head I laid them on the pillow frozen looking at him like this. âKlaus!âŚ.â
âDonât test the wolf in me, Ms, Lane. You wonât be able to beat me.â His blue eyes were brighter than I had ever seen up until this moment. He had a kind smile on his lips that made it almost impossible to not grin as big as he was
I smirked a small grin testing this playful side in him that I had yet to see come to the surface so I was going to enjoy it for as long as possible. When he was happy it made all my fears disappear and made me forget that I was on the run from my entire family of witches. âAnd what would you do to me hmm?â
âNow you're insisting on a challenge, love.â He leaned his head down to mine where my heart quickened thinking he was going to kiss me until I felt his hand move to my sides beginning to tickle me on my hip and I couldnât run away since he had me pinned between the bed and him
I pushed my hands against his chest trying to squirm out of his grasp but I wasnât trying as hard when I heard a beautiful laugh come from his lips. âKlausâŚnoâŚstop. I canât handleâŚ.being tickled. NikâŚ.Niklaus!â
âDo you cave yet?â He asked, making our eyes finally lock onto one another.
Pushing my hands against his chest I gently shoved him off scooting upright onto the pillows behind me. âYes I cave. Iâm going to get my revenge one day.â
âOh Iâll be pleased to see you try, Rae.â He flopped down on his side of the bed placing his hands behind his head smiling
Feeling a hand touch my shoulder I flinched using my speed and grabbing their wrist shoving whoever it was against the wall. The person grunted, croaking out my name once more to gain my attention. âRaâŚRaelyn, itâs me.â
âWhy are you here, Cami? I thought your permanent resistance was New Orleans.â I snapped at the blonde bartender in front of me holding her by her throat and if she was still human she would be gasping for air.
She gasped but held onto the wrist of the hand that was around her throat. âYour kids called me asking for my help.â
âI donât need you to be my therapist.â I flashed my fangs at her. âIâm not troubled with demons or anything.â
âBut your mind is fighting against what you should be feeling for your husband. You know that you should feel something for him. I can see it in your eyes.â She explained it to me.
Rolling my eyes at one of my sired vampires. âYou may have that fancy degree but you donât know what Iâm feeling. You donât know what itâs like to see memories of someone you donât recognize. You donât know how frustrating it is when everyone keeps telling you that you are this person's other half. All the while not being able to believe the things they say because of a damn spell from a witch that we killed years ago that somehow came back and wanted to make me suffer. But please Camille go on and tell me how I feel because you can see inside my mind!â
âRaelyn, IâŚ.Iâm sorry. I know your kids have good intentions but I wonât make you suffer anymore today.â The bartender responded when I released my nails from her throat and she collapsed onto her knees quickly getting to her feet in front of me.
Crossing my arms over my chest I nodded to her in respect, turning on my heels and starting to walk away from the women. âThank you for understanding. Iâll be sure to visit more often and thanks for not making me use the sire bond on you. Iâll see you around New Orleans.â
âIâm sorry about this, Raelyn.â I heard her mumbling under her breath with my heightened hearing but wasnât fast enough before she vamped behind me. She held tightly onto my hair and stuck some needle into my neck where my eyes got heavy and she lowered our bodies to the sidewalk.
Gripping her forearms I was struggling to stay awake with the amount of vervain in my system. âYou helped him trick me!â
Yet before she could say anything more her hair went flying around and her neck was snapped right in front of me. Blinking my eyes I could barely keep myself awake and my mind was running slow but I could tell who had ever killed her shortly. Klausâs blue eyes were trained on me with him offering his hand that I reluctantly put mine in. He tugged me upwards seeing my body go limp from the vervain finally leaving me in his embrace. âBefore you think I had anything to do with this Iâll say I had no idea. Just know all I ask is that you trust me.â My right hand wrapped around the dog tag necklace he wore and he knew that was a small sign of trust before he picked my unconscious body up bridal style vamping us back to the old Mikaelson mansion.
Hope and his friends face a monster in the forest which they have not been able to defeat. Suddenly they hear a peaceful melody and see the reader a mysterious man in black who appears to be a metallic wolf with a horn. He tells everyone to stay away from his forest if he wouldn't take care of them, when the monster wants to attack the reader but he prevents it with his half-moon blade that destroys the monster completely. The reader tells Hope and her friends to stay away from her forest because he wants to enjoy her loneliness oh it will destroy them, however for a brief second the reader notices Hope for some strange reason he begins to feel something for her. Before Hope could say anything about her he walks away from her before launching several waves of energy at everyone. Hope wanted to know about this creature by telling Alaric about this strange creature. Alaric finds an ancient book explaining that he is Zen Aku, a fierce warrior of a species of creatures called Orgs who fought against humanity more than 3000 years ago, he rebelled against his leader the Master Org, destroying him, helping humans, she hears that He was locked in a prison by the humans he helped and eventually disappeared. Hope, intrigued by this, decides to talk to this warrior trying to understand. When she goes to the forest she hears that beautiful melody again and sees the reader sitting at a campfire playing the music. She decides to approach him to talk to him, but he takes his gun and tells her that he had said that he would stay away from the forest. She reassures him that she just wants to talk to him. He tells her that he can't trust humans but Hope tells him that he can trust her. Later they both become good friends, the reader drives away most of the monsters along with Hope discovers that the reader is also affectionate and sweet and little by little they both feel something for each other. One day Hope goes to dress the reader in the forest but she can't find him. Instead, she sees a boy a year older than her, fishing. She tells him that he should leave because he could be in danger, but that boy tells her that he is actually the reader. Later he tells her what really happened: he used the mask of the Zen wolf Aku, succumbing to the curse of the mask and was locked up by his friends to save them and not wanting to hurt anyone and that in a few days sometimes he can be again. human remembering who he was before. She tells him that she could help him with the curse and be free. The reader he lives at school and is close to Hope's friends. Finally they find a spell to free the reader from the curse, when it is released the school is under attack by malivore, Hope tells the reader to stay and continue with the spell that she would return, the reader tells her to be careful when she comes back because She also wants to tell him something important, she leaves but before leaving she kisses the reader in her human form with all her love, thinking that no matter what, she is leaving with her friends. The spell almost ends but the reader sees that Hope is in trouble. Malivor was going to kill her, so the reader takes her power again, moving away from the spell, preventing Malivore from killing Hope, cutting Malivore finally using a lot of her power, the reader completely destroys Hope. malivore saving his school but completely losing the spell. Hope scolds him because she didn't want to continue using the spell, the reader tells him that if that was the cost of losing her he would never use it, Hope hugs him and they both admit how much they love each other and begin a relationship. Later the reader found a way to control her curse by eventually returning to his human form. Another day with another obstacle to overcome.  The headmaster of a private college and father of two amazing girls.  It was a lot of work to handle them but it was the job that he had taken on the day that Jo had told him that she was pregnant.  His daughter walks into his office as he nurses his first glass of bourbon of the day. A list of things to do on a notepad from Caroline   (  what the hell is find a new chair for Mrs. Brown? Why is he in charge of this? )  âLizzie, can this - âwait.  Nope.  It canât and that is okay because the words out of her mouth arenât a problem but a cause for celebration.
âYou are gonna have to show me those TRICKS today â
Alaric has been molding young minds  ( his daughters & hope )  into hunters since the Malivore problem arose a year ago. Better safe than sorry.  Alaric would rather the girls know how to throw a punch than have to bury a body. Was he a good person? No. Was he a great father? No.    â We still on for training at six pm? â Â
CONTROL HAS ALWAYS FELT JUST OUT OF REACH FOR LIZZIE. Sheâs spent years watching other witches manage effortlessly, while she tries to wrest control over her own magic/mind/SELF with the desperation of someone trying to control a hurricane, to slow the path of destruction just enough.
(âYour magic gets you into these states, Elizabethâ)
But sheâs not the same scared little high school kid anymore, hiding her fears behind images of popularity, like being pretty enough will make people keep their distance, will stop them getting HURT. Sheâs put the work in, managed to finally come to that elusive balance in her head, pushed the boulder up the hill enough to grant her mind and body some reprieve.
âVery funny, dad. All my tricks, I learned from you.â All those breathing exercises and sparring sessions have finally paid off. Sure, she wonât be taking on an Original anytime soon, but Lizzieâs confident in her ability to kick the ass of anyone else who comes her way. (After years of BEGGING their dad to train them, to throw his gaze on his daughters for once, instead of throwing himself so fully into making the world safe that he forgot they exist.)
âDuh. You promised to show me that new throw, remember?â As long as he doesnât throw out his back again and send his daughters on a super stressful trip to the emergency room so Aunt Elena can laugh at him. AGAIN.
Found in the darkness | Andrea and Ace
He wasnât sure the last time he had been in human form. There was a cold darkness to Malivore. And he knew it had to be that. An endless darkness. He had known the moment he woke up that that was where he was. As the hours went past, and he was sure days or weeks had past outside, his only comfort was from the heat of his own breath and the scales that covered his body. He trusted that Hope would come, if only to end this, to let him find peace in the world that came after this time. Something he never wanted from her. And yet it was his only hope.
But that was when he saw the light. The low glow of something in the distance. A growl coming from his chest, threating. That was when he saw her face. He rose to look at her.... Andrea. Walking through the darkness lead by a small glowing orb in front of her. There was a moment as his dragon prepared for battle, and he could see the same look in her eyes. Before he focused the scales down. Allowing his skin to reform and him to stand in front of her in his human form.Â
The girl dropping the orb as she ran into his arms. Aceâs arms wrapping around her as the shock of human touch ripped through him. Andrea held into him the moment she felt his arms wrap around her. The fear of being alone overpowering any hope she had had left. She hold into him tightly as the sky overhead opened up. Andrea looking up to see the same sucking hole of light that she had been fighting and running front till she had Ace in her arms.Â
She gripped his hand in hers and let it pull them into the sky and spit them out onto the ground back into the real world with Ace still next to her.Â
the darkness of malivore | self para
Once her fish had been safely given to someone that could look after it and all her things were packed away for when she came back. There was really no reason not to just go for it. Because she had to, the longer she waited, the more Ace suffered and he didnât deserve to suffer. No, he was good and kind. She had to get him back, not just for her mother but for herself. So she packed up and head towards Fort Valley, Georgia. She told her mother that she should go in alone. If she got in there and jumped it, it wouldnât be long before triad guards noticed and came looking. If her mother was standing there, she would be attacked by Triadâs men.
She went inside alone. It didnât take long to find the pit. Looking at the mud. The creature that would cause so much pain in the years to come and she stood up on the railing and jumped in. She knew darkness. She went to sleep each night in it, but it was so much more than she had expected when she opened her eyes inside. It was a darkness, but not just for her eyes. It was darkness to her soul. Oore overpowering than anything she had felt before. There was no direction to go, just darkness everywhere she went and so she just started to walk. Walk till her feet hurt and her chest started to ache. How long had it been on the outside? How long had Ace been in here? Wandering in the darkness waiting for them to come and find him, just like Andrea was doing now.Â
Thatâs when she felt the first the first shudder, as her blood started to hurt Malivore. She turned to see the creature now with her. Something out of nightmare. A faceless monster. A screech coming from itâs lips as the creature ran at her. She put her hands up to defend herself. The magic flowing from her as the impulse took over her, sending the creature flying backwards, only for it to stand up again. This time she conjured a fire ball, throwing it at the creature as she lit it on fire. The scream echoed around her as the heavy feeling setting in her chest, as she was suffocated by the smell of burning skin and fear. She looked around the darkness, wondering when the next attack would come.Â
In the outside world, everyone had forgotten who she was. @tribrvdâ
Hope hasnât had a shower since before jumping into Malivore, I need someone to save her
also??? where did she wake up??? Like where was the pit she crawled out of when she was expelled from it? because as the viewer, the last we saw is the pit in triad was evaporated. so itâs like a big piece of information if the pit has moved and they never showed her coming out of it or anything đ§does she know where the new pit is? Did she like physically come out of it? I assume so, since that drawing of Seylah emerging from Malivore showed her literally walking out of the mud
When I was writing the part of Beware the Spirits Lurking Within that became Chapter 2, I started a detailed explanation of what had happened to Hope and Josie before the events of this story (and which had been alluded to in Chapter 1). But the more I wrote, the more I felt like I was going off in the weeds, away from the story I wanted to tell and instead fleshing out background information that wasnât relevant at that level of detail.
So I ripped it all out and rewrote an overview, with only a few detailsâŚbut for the morbidly curious, the original version (unedited) of the journey through the underworld is below. Spoilers for Chapter 2, of course!
that fateful day
âIf you kill me, youâll never know what Iâve done with your beloved Josette, never find her again,â taunted Malivore, fully ensconced in Landonâs body, immortal and impudent.
âThereâs always a loophole,â Hope retorted, her voice hard despite being crushed between twin losses. She extended her claws and plunged one into her left wrist, yanking it backwards towards her elbow and tearing a large gash in her forearm, spurting blood. The auburnette thrust her wound to the teenâsâŚthe monsterâsâŚmouth and forced himâŚitâŚto drink. Hope saw the exact moment Malivore allowed Landonâs consciousness to regain control, she saw the shock in his eyes as he was drowning in the torrent of blood being forced into his mouth. She saw and felt him try to speak, to no avail as she held firm, tears rolling down both of their blood-spatted cheeks. And then the light went out of those green orbs and they became blackâŚblack goo seeping out of his eye sockets. Soon, the rest of the body of the boy who had loved her for her had melted into black goo, forming a puddle on the ground. And not just a puddle, but a portalâŚhalf a loophole. Hope jumped in feet-first.
Malivore was different this time around. Inky blackness extending forever, but now it was punctuated by weird glowing areas of dark colors, and the chaos had increased tenfold. Creatures were tearing each other apart, with hellhounds feasting on the carcasses. Hope trudged through the darkness, defending herself from many attacks, for she didnât know how long until she found what she was looking for, a glimmering silver-black pool guarded by a green-skinned man wearing the white pharaonic crown with two ostrich feathers affixed.
âWho goes there?â the man inquired, crossing and uncrossing his crook and flail over his chest.
âHope Mikaelson, daughter of Klaus and Hayley. I seek entry to the underworld.â
âYou are the child of the devil; my brother Set will embrace you as his own.â
âJust what I wanted to hear.â At that, the auburnette grabbed her head and, using her werewolf strength, snapped her own neck, falling to the ground.
When she awakenedâunaware of how much time might have passedâHopeâs head was throbbing in excruciating, disorienting pain, and she was hungry, very hungry. The green manâOsirisâappeared over her. âWhat have you done, girl?â the befuddled god of the afterlife inquired.
âNothing that concerns you,â the auburnette replied, snatching his crook, snapping it in half, and plunging a broken end into the deityâs chest. Ripping the broken tool out once more, she drank the blood that flowed from the wound, feeling her hunger subside and the headache and ringing in her ears vanish. Just as quickly, Hope was inundated by power surging backâmagic, the wolf, and so much more. If her powers had been overwhelming before, this was infinitely more, whatever that word wasâŚno wonder The Hollow had wanted her.
And speaking of The Hollow, Hope felt all of that powerâand darknessâwithin her. It was as though she had tapped into her entire bloodline, had the power of Inadu and all the Crescents, of her father and uncles, of Esther and Dahlia and their ancestors to time immemorial, all flowing through her at once. She was a walking totem of the most powerful ancestral magic. Power was one hell of a drug.
Slashing her forearm with the broken end of the crook, Hope watched as her fully-activated tribird blood flowed down her arm. âVitris,â she cast, watching the blood harden into a sword in her hand. Moving quickly, the auburnette slit her other wrist before plunging the sword into her gut, gasping in pain and then collapsing to the ground. Her blood flowed freely and pooled on the soil, sizzling like acid. Forcing herself into a near-sitting position, the tribrid yanked the blade from her stomach and stabbed herself in that same region repeatedly. Hope slowly drug herself to the edge of the shimmering pool, groaning and leaving a trail of blood in the dirt. By this point, her blood was gushing from the wounds and had nearly formed a small pond. Now nearly exsanguinated, with a final flourish of pain, Hope pulled the blade from her gut and plunged it into the ground, where it was drenched with a geyser of blood from her stomach. âSeeâŚyouâŚinâŚhellâŚâ the auburnette gritted, before toppling into the silver-black pool.
Had she remained, Hope would have witnessed massive fissures opening in all directions from her blood sword, and the popping, fizzing, and sizzling of her blood eating through the world she left, dissolving it. Malivore was disintegrating, unravelling from the one thing that could destroy it, and soon it would be nothing more than a memory, a bad nightmare haunting the dreams of those who had known it and survived.
§
Josie awoke in a soft bed in an unfamiliar room. The last thing that she remembered was LandonâMalivoreâsnatching her away from Hope and consuming her, taunting the tribrid that he had won. Was this what Malivore was like? It was nothing like Hope or any of the monstâŚother beings Malivore had consumed had described. Had she died? Was this Peace? The brunette began checking herself for injuries or other telltale signs that she might have diedâŚand she pinched herself for good measure, in case she was dreaming. But, no, it seemed she was very much alive, in the softest bed she had ever known, in a room so opulent she could not even imagine.
A gentle rapping sounded on the door, and Josie softly replied, âCome in.â
âMy lady,â a woman entered the room, curtseying, âmy Lord is awaiting your presence.â
The siphon struggled to rise from the bedâthere was such a thing as âtoo soft,â apparentlyâbut finally managed, and she followed the woman out of the room and through many hallways before entering an ornate hall with a massive throne made of yellowish stone at the far end. On it sat a shirtless, muscled man with a cruel, withering gazeâŚthe âLordâ the woman had referred to, Josue presumed.
âWelcome, Josette,â the manâs voice boomed out as the pair of women approached his throne. âWe have been waiting for you for some time now, watching your development with great interest.â
âWhoâŚwho are you, and how do you know my name?â Josie asked, slightly frightened for the first time since she awoke.
âOh, yes, I forgetâŚwith the passage of time, we are no longer worshipped by your kind, but we have not faded away. We still hold dominion over the earth, the sky, and the sea, over life and deathâŚ. I am Hades, first-born son of Cronus and Rhea, brother to Poseidon and Zeus, ruler of the underworld, keeper of the dead. I know many things, and I have many servants working for me among the realm of humans. You have been on our radar since you nearly set your sister on fire, but latelyâŚburning Penelope Parkâs hair, the black magicâŚso much black magic! and taking retribution on Alyssa ChangâŚnow that was a form of justice we admire greatly.â
A chill went down Josieâs spine, in spite of the heat of the place. Hades! Hades had had his eye on her, and now, somehow, she was in the underworld, his domain, kneeling before him.
âMy consort, Persephone, spends only one-third of the year with me, so we have come to an arrangement, where I am permitted to choose anotherâŚa sort of âjunior wifeââŚto sit by my side the rest of the year. After millennia of searching, I have finally found a suitable match. You, my dear Josette.â
§
Hope awoke in a new world, one of heat and fire and blinding light, red, orange, yellow, and white. The heat was searing; the only way she could describe it was the feeling of putting oneâs face right next to the white-hot coals of a fireâexcept on a massive scale, on all sides. This must be what one experienced when being baked alive. Breathing was difficult and her insides charred and scabbed with each breath. The tribridâs auburn locks soon ignited, becoming a flaming mane. Girl on fireâŚKatniss had nothing on her. Soon her entire body was engulfed, her clothes nothing more than embers. Her skin burned and charred, and soon she felt her flesh melting off of her bones, sizzling as it hit the ground in small drops.
Hope trudged forward, nothing but a skeleton, her bones super-heated from the environment. humanity switch?
As calculated as he could be, the fox didnât bother trying to be precise. He knew the golem Malivore better than the boy Landon, and besides, the tribrid was weak nowâso did it really matter? He didnât need to exert the effort he would have if she were at her strongest, but then again, perhaps thatâs what made him such a fraud.
With a firm grip, he grabbed her hand and yanked her to her feet. As for her wounds? Those were her own to mend. âYou can walk, right?â
There were...parts of what he was saying that didn't make sense. That didn't sound like Landon at all. He of all people knew the danger Triad posed, he'd looked down into the black pit of Malivore. Dissolved into it. Come back from that place. But she was on the edge of consciousness, and it was too difficult to reason out why it was wrong.
Reaching out in turn, she put his hand in his and winced in anticipation of being helped to her feet. He was right. She'd repelled the attack on the compound, as best she could, and now she had to get out in the cities despite her wounds. "All right," she breathed. "All right, let's go, Landon. Get me up."
