The Thief And The Fairy

An Ellie Williams x Maleficent!Reader au. part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5

An: This fic is the result of an idea that’s been rotting my head for months. The story line will be extremely close to Maleficent, and a lot of the lines will be exact to the film. Fair warning, it is a strangers to lovers to enemies sooo yeah 🫶 not proof read.

Once upon a time, in a far off land, there lived a little girl. She was no ordinary girl, for she lived in the branches of a tree on the top of a mountain. Most of her features resembled a human, however a few of her features did not.

The girl carried long, dark, feathered wings on her back, and upon her head were two scaled horns that curled ever so slightly. Her ears were almost human, as they spiked near the tops, and her cheek bones were as sharp as a blade.

The girls wings could carry her high up into the clouds and she felt like she danced with the stars as she flew, the wings never faltered nor failed her. She trusted them with her whole life.

Her tree belonged to her land, known as the Moors. It was located in a large forest next to a kingdom. The Moors and the kingdom had been at war for centuries, until 7 years ago, when the king had claimed her parents heads on his sword. Two years later, the king had died and his son, Jesse, took his place on the throne.

Because of this, Y/N was unfortunately the only one of her kind left in the Moors. There were goblins, Gorgons, Pixies, Sirens, Spriggans, mushroom fae and more. There were many family’s of each, creating a population of the Moor folk.

Although Y/N was only 14 years old, she claimed the title of the protector of the Moors, just like her parents once were. This was a mutual agreement between the moor-folk as she had the strongest wings and a power stronger than they had seen ever before. She was able to heal and break with the stroke of her finger, and she did not know what she was fully capable of, yet.

One day, Y/N was helping some of the pixies mend some of the crops, as a storm had destroyed their farmland the night before. As she used her magic to heal the poor crops, one of the Spriggan soldiers, Balthazar, came to her.

The Spriggan folk look a lot like trees. They disguise themselves as such from the humans, as a way to hide from them. Their ears are large and can shield their faces from harm, they have sharp wooden teeth and their body’s almost resemble a skeleton made out of wood. Their jobs were along side Y/N, as her soldiers. They usually carry wooden spears with them as weapons and did not speak human like the pixies and Y/N could, however they could still understand it.

Balthazar made some earthy deep sounds, which is the Spriggans way of communicating.

“What do you mean there’s a human in the Moors? there hasn’t been for years.” Y/N protested, slightly nervous to encounter her first human since the last war, where her parents were stolen from her.

He replied with similar noises as a moment ago.

“She’s stealing from the pool of jewels? Tor heavens sake we need to stop her. They’re not hers to take.” She announced before flying up into the clouds and towards the pool of jewels.

When she arrived, two more Spriggans were surrounding the entrance to a small cave in the mountain right next to the pool, however it was covered in ivy so she couldn’t see the human hidden inside. She landed on a grass covered rock inside the pool, in-between the Spriggans.

“Come out!” She demanded. She had no response from the human, maybe they speak a different language now? She decided to try her luck again.

“Come out this instant!” She spoke louder than before.

“No! They mean to kill me!” A female voice spoke. Her accent was different to the humans that Y/N remembered. Perhaps the humans had changed their way of speaking the language.

“They don’t mean to harm you whatsoever. They know you have something that doesn’t belong to you. You have to give it back!” She spoke loud and clear.

The hidden human hesitated, but slowly crept out of the ivy, into the open. She had auburn brown hair, pale green eyes and freckles scattered along her face. Her hair was tied up into a pony tail and she wore ragged old clothes, covered with an old brown cloak. She looked quite small for a human.

“Are you fully grown?” Y/N asked curiously, analysing the humans appearance.

“No..” The human responded.

“I believe she’s just..a girl?” Y/N said slightly confused to her soldiers.

“And you’re just a girl…i think..?” The human stepped into the conversation.

“Who are you?” Y/N asked the human who stood before her.

“I’m called Ellie. Ellie Williams. Who are you?” She replied with confidence.

“Y/N” The fairy replied with the same amount of confidence. One of the Spriggans quickly reminded her of why she was here, meeting the human.

“Yes! right.” She spoke. “Like i said earlier, i believe you have something that doesn’t belong to you.”

“No i dont.” Ellie said confused, trying to act dumb. Y/N rolled her eyes and held out her hand expectedly. Sighing, Ellie digged into her pocket, retrieving a jewel and chucked it to Y/N’s hand. Y/N then gently tossed the jewel back into the pool.

Y/N and Ellie walked together through the forest, as Y/N wanted to make sure the girl was safe leaving. Ellie’s eyes were glued to Y/N’s wings, she felt drawn to them. They were like nothing she’d seen before. She decided to speak before her stares got too weird.

“if i’d known you’d throw it away i would have kept it.” Ellie complained, knowing she could have gotten a meal by paying with that jewel, she couldn’t remember the last time she’d eaten a whole meal.

“I didn’t throw it away. I delivered it home, as i’m going to do with you.” She announced. The girls walked through the woodlands together in a comfortable silence. Ellie admired the nature around them, and gasped as fireflies flew passed them.

Finally, they reached the end of the forest where there was a large grass field that separated the Moors from the kingdom.

Ellie came to a halt, Y/N following suit.

“Y’know, some day i’ll live there,” Ellie spoke, pointing into the distance. “In the castle.” She frowned, hoping her dreams will someday come true.

“Well where do you live now?” Y/N asked curiously. She was so drawn to Ellie in a way she couldn’t describe. She’d never felt like this before.

Ellie turned her face away, embarrassed to face Y/N as she responded. “In a barn..”

“So your parents are farmers then?” Y/N continued, not noticing Ellie’s demeanour change.

“My parents are dead.” Ellie responded quite bluntly, her head hanging low.

“Mine too.” Y/N looked at Ellie with sympathy. Maybe not all humans were bad anymore. Maybe it was time for the moors to stop being afraid.

Ellie looked back at Y/N with the same expression. She stared into the fairy’s eyes for a while before speaking up.

“We’ll see each other again.” She said with confidence, turning so her back was to Y/N and took a few steps forward

“You really shouldn’t come back here you know.. it’s not safe.” Y/N protested, she almost cared for the human. She felt connected to her in ways she didn’t understand.

Ellie turned around again to face the winged girl. “and if i made that choice, if i came back…would you be here?” Ellie asked with a smile tugging on her lips.

Y/N looked around for a moment, she was lost in thought.

“Perhaps.” She shrugged with a smile. Ellie was beaming, and stretched her hand out to shake Y/Ns. When the girl took Ellie’s hand, she immediately took it back and gasped in pain. Ellie’s face dropped and concern rushed through her body.

“What’s wrong?!” She exclaimed, her eyes searching Y/N’s face for answers. Y/N gripped her palm in pain, where Ellie’s ring touched seconds ago.

“Your ring..Iron burns fairy’s.” She explained to the concerned human in front of her.

“I’m so sorry!” Ellie said apologetically, before she took her ring off and threw it as far as she could. Y/N felt her face heat up and her heart grow warmer. Humans were a lot kinder than she thought, so it seems.

“I like your wings.” Ellie spoke, interrupting Y/Ns thoughts. The fairy’s grin only grew wider upon hearing her words as Ellie walked across the fields, towards her home.

Later that night, Y/N couldn’t sleep. Her mind was flooded with thoughts of Ellie and how she, who had so little in the world, threw away her ring so that their hands might touch again. Her heart longed to see the human once more, and all her hatred towards the humans had shifted into peace in her mind. She believed that maybe they’ve changed, and that there is good in them.

The young thief who had once hoped to steal a jewel, had managed to steal something far more precious.

“Y/N?” Ellie called outside the forrest, where they she had last seen the fairy. “Y/N!” She called over and over again. After a minute or two of calling her name, she decided it was hopeless and sighed. Suddenly, there was a gust of wind behind her, and she heard something thump onto the ground.

Turning around in a haste, Ellie saw the girl she had hoped to see stood in front of her, smiling ear to ear.

“After all these weeks, look who came back” Y/N teased. Ellie smirked and walked closer to the girl.

“I thought it was worth the risk.” She replied, a smile growing bigger on her face by the second. “So, what do you do to entertain yourself around here?” Ellie asked, and Y/N only replied with a smirk.

“Follow me.” She spoke before running into the Moors. Ellie quickly followed suit, curious as to where they were going.

maleficent and saturn's dichotomy ☆

a continuation of my "notes on saturn in 10H"

disclaimer: i will be using tropical and sidereal (vedic) astrology, but i am very much a beginner in vedic astrology. i believe that the two systems can co-exist and do work together! (that view is subject to change though)

🪐 as explored in claire nakti's video, the cinderella fairytale is littered with saturn symbolism. she describes the "evil stepmother" archetype as symbolising the restrictions of saturn and the "fairy godmother" archetype as saturn's rewards. cinderella's stepmother is notoriously cruel towards her, turning her into a servant and constantly belittling her.

🔮 a twitter user (hxtgirlb) pointed out that several maleficent actresses have saturn placements and so i wanted to explore maleficent as the embodiment of saturn.

🔮 maleficent is left out of the invitations to aurora's christening and, in turn, curses her to prick her finger on a spindle and sleep forever unless she is kissed by her true love.

🔮 she symbolises the fairy godmother trope through offering a solution to the curse (true love's kiss). she is also a literal fairy!

🔮 maleficent's name also includes malefic and saturn is described as the great malefic in astrology.

🪐 in the live action remake of sleeping beauty, saturn's influences become much clearer. maleficent is burned by iron due to her being a fairy, and iron is ruled by saturn.

🪐 stefan starts as a young peasant boy and falls in love with maleficent. he betrays her and uses iron chains to cut off her wings in order to gain favour with the king. he later becomes the king. this demonstrates saturn's power to raise status, as maleficent's wings led to stefan's ascension to the throne.

🪐 maleficent, as the embodiment of saturn, enacts karma on stefan by cursing his daughter, aurora.

more synchronicities with saturn's rulership:

the fairy godmother ☆

🪄 this tumblr post on saturn worship (please check it out!) retells roman saturn mythology. interestingly, saturn was seen as the ruler of the golden age and the deity of abundance.

🪄 claire nakti assigns the fairy godmother archetype to juno, jupiter's wife. this is why we see fairy godmothers with prominent jupiter AND saturn placements. one of juno's symbols is the lotus, which is associated with all saturn nakshatras in vedic astrology.

🪄 they also embody saturn's wife, ops, who was seen as the protector of abundance and the "mother of all."

🪄 maleficent's role in the movie is the protector of the moors, the land she is from, and she is seen as a mother by all the mystical creatures that live there. she also becomes a mother-like figure to aurora and aims to reverse the curse she put on her as a baby.

🪄 the oppressive saturn that is more widely known in astrological circles reflects his greek counterpart, cronos. he ate all his children, but zeus, to prevent them from overthrowing him due to a prophecy.

🪄 the rewarding saturn reflects the roman god that rules over the golden age and promises abundance and a life devoid of suffering. in the film, maleficent turns out to be aurora's true love and saves her via a kiss.

sidenote: cinderella and aurora both wear blue, which is ruled over by saturn. they also go through hardships put on them by their evil stepmother/godmother before being saved by their fairy godmothers.

🪄 both princesses are also lifted up to a queen status through the actions of their fairy godmothers. cinderella becomes the king's wife and therefore queen, while aurora becomes queen of the moors.

Maleficent: Maleficent —Aesthetic

Maleficent's Character & Personality

Maleficent is a pure fairy and fierce protector of the Moors. At first, she's an innocent and good-hearted individual. After a tragic incident, Maleficent becomes cruel and vengeful. Despite this, she still maintains her mischievous and playful side, as she enjoys pulling pranks for fun. In fact, deep down, Maleficent doesn't wish true harm on anyone even though she won't hesitate to silence those who annoy her. Eventually, she feels resourceful for her actions and redeems herself through her parental bond.

I don't have the citations and receipts to prove it, but I swear most creative decisions in the post-Eisner era of Disney has been fueled by the fact that their biggest rival Universal owned the rights to Wicked.

Think about the fact that they had Stephen Schwartz on Pocahontas and Hunchback of Notre Dame during the Renaissance and got him for their send up Enchanted with Idina Menzel in the cast) which like Tangled and Frozen would not be what they are without Wicked, from the stupid titling scheme to initially hiring Kristen Chenoweth as Rapunzel before replacing her with Mandy Moore and ultimately hiring Idina Menzel (again) for Elsa and deciding she ain't so bad after all and hell let's delete Kai and invent Anna the plucky contrast to her to really drive it home.

How about the fact that they bought and made a meh adaptation of Into The Woods, the original 'Kind is not Good' fairytale subversion broadway show. The okay that was a thing Maleficent movies where the king rips off her wings and Mal was misunderstood she was Briar Rose's real protector, see.

The fact that they sure love to market their villains, but boy do they not like to make new ones that aren't corrupted forces of nature that need their heart back to be good again or c.e.o.'s who gave us utopia only to find out he killing the planet oopsies or deceptive seemingly trustworthy Wizard-like authority figures who will stab you in the back in their best interest. A villain is either a twist to be subverted or is the hero you followed along, see. Something tells me the Mufasa movie is their half-apology or reasoning for why Scar is like that when the new Aladdin and Little Mermaid did shit for Jafar or Ursula but make them bland because they didn't have time to bake another uwu, babied misunderstood anti-villain so they made sure they can't chew the scenery or have too big of personalities to latch onto by children either, that be irresponsible.

Disney wants Elphaba and they're mad they don't have the special sauce that Broadway somehow wrangled out of a confusing book full of misdirection that pleased no one but the author and people who hate the Judy Garland film and would never read Frank L. Baum anyway to understand these characters are just different from that film and the shoes were not the Wicked Witch's birthright she wanted their power, it was not that deep, but so much of Maguire's decisions don't work once you account for Baum's that never accounted for the future MGM's art and costuming department, casting and script consolidations, but all Disney sees is, 'That Judy Garland movie should've been ours and fuck these people making sequels and prequels, those should've been ours.'

We see the root of this problem that existed before Eisner took over with Return to Oz under Ron Miller. As a company they've never forgiven anyone for having piece of the Oz pie. Oh, post-Eisner they swung their dick again and made that forgettable James Franco prequel, I almost forgot! A warning to Universal who guarded Wicked's movie rights for decades and the anger they have that Warner Bros. still owns the rights to the Judy Garland film while all of Baum's books are in the public domain before Eisner's lawyers could lobby with Senator Bono to extend copyright law in the 90's.

Eisner cooperated with Warner Bros. to license an Oz sequence with an advance for it's time Wicked Witch animatronic in the Great Movie Ride, in fact a majority of the films in that ride came from WB's vault. Bob Iger let that ride get scrapped for Pirates before he could own Fox's back catalogue. You know what else Eisner didn't do that Bob Iger did? Not make a stupid Cruella prequel to explain why she's so misunderstood, just a straight live action remake of the cartoon and Jungle Book that was boring, and not a whole lot of these were as churned out in his era as there was bad sequels to the cartoons, but oops Iger's doing that too.

Real point is Wicked the musical premiered in 2003, Eisner stepped down in 2005. Eisner and his people couldn't figure out the Snow Queen as anything but a romantic comedy co-starring a villain love interest because he forgot Ariel existed as a misunderstood and manipulated hero who could have served as a template for another similar Andersen character. Under Iger's people they casted og Elphaba and decided halfway they needed to not make her a villain after all. Coincidence? I think not!

background: (basing my headcanons of 2014 maleficent) she grew up being a sort of protector of the isle. her mother having been a protector of the moors, she knows to look out for her people. however, she also resents auradon for imprisoning her mother, as she believes she does not deserve to be there. after all, she’d also been the one to save aurora.

her mother’s way of love could be odd at times, like sending her off to figure stuff out on her own, but having diaval watch her, or family bonding through the best ways to curse people, if (and only if) they absolutely deserved it. but they’d also go flying a lot, and maleficent would tell her stories each night, so really, it’s not too bad.

she’s a part of the triple alliance/triumvirate/whatever i end up naming it, between her, uma, and harriet. she protects the isle from the more magical villains, as she’s one of the only ones who cares enough and is powerful enough to deal with them (such as the horned king, or zhan tiri).

Plot Summary: A runaway princess who's lost in The Moorlands, Hyacinth causes enough of a disturbance to rouse Maleficent, protector of the Moors. At first frightened of her, Hyacinth bursts into tears, thus softening Maleficent's rage. Maleficent relents and offers her shelter in the Moors for the night. When morning comes, Hyacinth comes to realize that she has nowhere to go and Aurora convinces Maleficent to take pity on her and let her live amongst the creatures of The Moorlands, eventually earning her a place in Maleficent's heart.

BACK STORY:

Growing up as an orphan in the Moors after the death of her parents (caused by the humans), Maleficent believed herself to be the last of her kind. As a child she was kind, caring and got along well with the other fairies and creatures that lived among the Moors. One afternoon it's made apparent that a human boy (Stefan) has crossed into the moors. Maleficent orders him to hand over the gem he had stolen from the kingdom. Maleficent escorts Stefan to the border of the Moors, where they discover that they are both orphans. Stefan wishes to return to the Moors to see Maleficent again, but she tells him that it is forbidden. Nonetheless, they both want to see each other again but when Stefan extends his hand to her and as she goes to shake it she gets a shock from his ring. She explains that iron burns fairies and he takes off his ring and throws it away. Stefan is leaving and Maleficent smiles to herself and she begins to develop feelings for Stefan and a few weeks later, Stefan returns to see Maleficent and the two develop a close friendship, which as they grow older, develops into romance and on her sixteenth birthday, Stefan gives Maleficent a present: True Love's Kiss. However, it was never meant to be. Over the next several years, Stefan stops coming to see Maleficent, due to his temptations toward the human kingdom. While Maleficent, the strongest of the fairies, rises to become her homeland's fierce protector. While Stefan is serving under the human kingdom the seek to attack the moors, a war ordered by king Henry. Maleficent leads her army of the forest guardians against Henry’s army emerging victorious and the surviving soldiers to retreat back to their kingdom. Later that night, Maleficent receives a visit from Stefan, who, unknown to her, has become a servant of the King. The King has demanded to be avenged and will name whoever kills Maleficent as his successor to the throne. Stefan tells Maleficent that he has returned to warn her of the King's demands. Maleficent and Stefan sit closely to each other by the river and spend the night together like they used to. Stefan gives Maleficent a drink, which causes her to fall into a deep sleep as soon as she takes a sip. Stefan then drew a dagger and attempted to kill her, but couldn't bring himself to do it. Instead, he uses a chain made of iron to cut off her wings. He then presents them to the dying King Henry as false proof that she was slain. The next morning, Maleficent awakens to a burning pain on her back, and is heartbroken upon finding that her wings had been stolen. Unable to walk properly, Maleficent picks up a simple twig, and transforms it into a staff. She then walks through the Moors until she finds the ruins where she sits to think and hides in the shadows, broken and alone, at the same time a raven appears but she sends it away.

Follows Maleficent's journey throughout the first movie, features her hatred towards the humans, bitterness towards the other pixies and moor species. Maleficent is dealing with hatred, self loathing, betrayal , the loss of her true love.

features Maleficent working on her relationships and trust towards others, working with the moor species rather than against them.

After several years had passed, Ellie’s visits to the Moors were less and less, for her ambitions pulled her away from Y/N, and towards the temptations of the human kingdom. While Y/N, the strongest of the fairy’s, grew up to be the protector of the Moors, just as she was all those years ago.

Y/N spent her days flying through the Moors, searching for any sign of danger. Sometimes, once she knew they were safe, she’d fly up into the clouds and dance with the wind and the sky.

She often wondered the Moors in solitude, and sometimes wondered where Ellie might be. For she had never understood the greed and envy of humans…but she was to learn.

For the human king Jesse had heard of a growing power in the Moors, and he sought to strike it down.

Y/N was sat by her tree in the mountain when she saw the herd of men and flames marching towards her home. She flew down to the spriggans, alerting them of the war that was approaching in the near distance. Knowing that they were following closely behind, she flew to the edge of the Moors to meet the king and his army of men and horses.

When the king reached the entrance of the Moors, he came to a halt, stopping his men behind him. He turned to face them before speaking up.

“There they are! The mysterious Moors where no one dares to venture, for the fear of the magical creatures that lurk within! Well i say crush them!!” He yelled triumphantly, his army cheering once he’d finished.

Suddenly, the king heard a loud gusp of wind behind him. He turned around to face whatever monster that stood in front of the Moors.

Y/N stood there in a confident stance, her wings folding slightly behind her.

“GO NO FURTHER!” She yelled as loud as her lungs would let her.

“A king does not take orders from a winged elf!” King Jesse spoke with might and power, his men laughing at his joke.

“You are no king to me!” She announced with anger, her stance staying strong.

The king spoke to his men calmly. “Bring me her head.” He ordered, just as his father did with her parents long ago.

The army quickly drew their swords and charged towards Y/N and the Moors.

“Arise and stand with me!” Y/N yelled, locking eye contact with King Jesse. Suddenly, the ground started shaking beneath their feet. The roots of trees rose from under the ground, revealing the Spriggans that were hiding not long before.

“It’s the dark creatures!!!” One of the kings men yelled in fear.

More spriggans walked out from the shadows, riding large armoured boars. The spriggans ears which were covering their faces, opened up to reveal themselves to the humans once and for all.

Without warning, dirt from the ground exploded into the air as yet another creature arose from hiding. This creature was a wingless dragon made from the roots of trees, moss and mud. It’s teeth were sharp and long, and it had a beak for lips. It roared at the humans before it.

“CHARGE!!!” The king ordered, the humans quickly started forward to attack the beasts. Y/N flew up into the air, before flying directly at some men, taking them out with her wings. The Spriggans and boars also ran towards the men, fighting back, protecting their land.

The ground dragon started swimming below the dirt, and rising to strike the humans, making anywhere a danger zone for them.

Y/N sawed towards the king, knowing she wanted to end the man who started the war in the first place. “You!” she yelled as she came crashing into him. He landed on his back, all the air escaping his chest as he struggled to breathe.

“To the king!!” one of his men ordered, as they all charged towards the king and Y/N.

Luckily for her, she had strong wings. And she used them to her advantage. She flapped her wings, making sure to create large gusts of wind to send the men flying back miles. She then landed in front of the king.

“YOU WILL NOT HAVE THE MOORS! NOT NOW, NOT EVER!! YOU-“ she yelled before she was quickly cut off by his iron glove coming into contact with her chest. She fell back in pain, a red burn mark left where his hand once was. It quickly disappeared, however.

Unfortunately the kings men reached him before she could strike again. The humans a fled back to their kingdom, and the Moors was at peace once more.

In the castle, King Jesse was laying in bed. Six men surrounded him, for he did not have long left.

“When i ascended to the throne..I promised the people that one day.. we would take the Moors and it’s treasures. Each of you swore allegiance to me.. and to that cause.” He spoke weakly before coughing.

Ellie, who was previously lighting the fire, rushed over to fix his pillow so he was more comfortable.

“Defeated in battle. Is this to be my legacy? I see you waiting…for me to die. It won’t be long. But what then? I will choose a successor- to take the throne, care for my wife. Who among you is worthy? Kill the winged creature. Avenge me! And upon my death, you will take the crown.” He coughed again.

Later that night, Ellie decided she had to return to the Moors one more time, and Avenge her king in order to become queen. She hoped it wouldn’t hurt her considering she hadn’t seen the fairy in years.

She prepared a horse and carriage, with a blanket to cover Y/N’s body with once she had done what she needed to do. Once she’d decided she had everything she needed, she made her way back to the edge of the Moors.

“Y/N?” She called out like she did long ago.

“Y/N?” She tried again after a few seconds. Of course she wouldn’t be there waiting for her like she used to be. Ellie felt stupid and turned around to go back to the kingdom. That was until she heard a whoosh behind her.

“So..how’s life with the humans..?” Y/N spoke bitterly. She did not expect to see Ellie ever again, so this was quite a surprise.

“I’ve come to warn you..they mean to kill you.” Ellie said worryingly, hoping she’d buy her act.

“King Jesse will stop at nothing..” She continued, sympathy lacing her voice.

“Please..you have to trust me.” She finished. Y/N considered Ellie’s kind gesture, and forgot about how she’d left let long ago. She invited the human back into the Moors, into her home, and let her guard down completely. The two spoke of many things, and the years faded away. She forgave Ellie, and her ambition, and all was as it had been many years prior.

Y/N’s head rested on ellie’s as they watched the lake glisten in the moon light. Ellie opened a flask and asked Y/N to drink it, which she did, not knowing what was inside. She quickly fell into a slumber, and Ellie’s plan was coming into action. She almost backed out of the plan, but if she didn’t do it then someone else would. She needed the throne.

It took ellie an hour before she was able to gain the courage to grab the weapon needed. When she returned to Y/N, she was still sleeping soundly on the grass.

“Y/N?” Ellie tried waking her up, to see if she would actually rouse. She did not, which meant it was time. She gently picked up the dagger that she had placed by her feet and raised it above Y/N’s back. She lifted it into the air, ready to slam it into the fairy, but fell back, stopping herself. She threw the dagger to the ground in anger, she could not kill her first love.

Suddenly, an idea appeared in Ellie’s head. The king did not need to know that the fairy wasn’t dead, She just needed to bring him evidence to lie to him.

She grabbed a chain that sat next to her and wrapped it around Y/N’s wings, and cut them from the fairy’s back. She then took the wings and wrapped them in the blanket where her body was once to be. Then, she left. She decided to walk back as the guilt made her feel to sick to ride her horse.

when the sun had risen, Y/N slowly woke from her slumber. Pain shot through her and she felt awfully light. As she sat up, she did not feel her wings move with her. She grunted in pain and reached behind her to feel for her wings, finding out that they were no longer present. She looked behind her with wide eyes. Panic and betrayal flooded her veins as she trembled. She started squealing in pain, which turned into screams and sobs. She tried gasping for she could not breath. She screamed as much as her body would let her. Not only did Ellie steal the fairy’s heart, she also stole her wings.

In the distance, Ellie heard her old true love’s screams and she felt like she was going to be sick. Her mind was filled with regret, but there was no going back now. She would have to live with the guilt for the rest of her years.

Y/N lay back down on the ground as she was in agony, and stayed there for a few hours. She did not want to move ever again, she did not feel whole. She was no longer complete.

When Ellie returned to the castle, she went directly to the Kings chambers to show him what she had done. She carried in the fairy’s wings and placed them onto the foot of his bed.

“What is this?” King Jesse asked, awakening from his slumber. Ellie removed the blanket from the wings, revealing them to the king.

“I have avenged you, sire.” Ellie spoke with confidence, though her heart was shattered. She could not believe what she had done.

“She is vanquished?” The king asked before coughing. Ellie simply nodded. She did not want to speak, she felt like she was going to be sick.

“Oh you have done well, my friend. You have done what others feared to do. You will be rewarded.” The king announced.

“i shall do my best to be a worthy successor, your majesty.” Ellie replied. The king asked for her to leave and that she will be crowned the following week, wedded to his wife.
