Chris Addison (Ollie Reeder in The Thick of It) appeared in three episodes of the 8th season (The Caretaker, Dark Water and Death in Heaven) as Seb, Missy's AI interface assistant.

Out of the three, Capaldi only shared a scene (actually two scenes) with Rebecca Front, though - which is apparently more than enough for a silly little dialogue crossover mashup:

really though, I actually hate him, but also he's SO interesting. I want to put him in a jar and shine a very bright light into it to see whether he thrives or curls up into a ball and cries.

BUT I MEAN FLICKING BETWEEN MALCOLM AND OLLIE'S EXPIRING, MANIPULATIVE, HOMOEROTIC/PARASITIC, FUCKED UP RELATIONSHIP AND DAN AND OLLIE'S DEVELOPING, MANIPULATIVE, SELF-HATRED INDUCING, FUCKED UP RELATIONSHIP IN THE LAST EP IS INSANE!!!

like the two of them go from playing squash together weekly (and they so dated, you can't prove me wrong, so I'm obviously right) to what I can only assume is a couple years with no meaningful contact, to Ollie manipulating Dan into the position of party leader, and then immediately to Ollie caving to Dan's every whim.

like, yeah, ofc Ollie wanted Malcolm's job, and for that he needed Malcolm gone, but I seriously doubt he wanted him gone during the change of leadership, before he'd even got a foothold as a party spin doctor. there's a whole room of people in charge of the party's press and image and you're going to tell me he was prepared to bet on them just stepping out of the way??? he's an idiot, but he isn't stupid. he might think he's manipulating Dan but all it takes is a two minute conversation and he's putting his own career on the line to stab Malcolm in the back when the man is ALREADY FINISHED.

AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ABOUT THE SCENE WITH THE TWO OF THEM AT LEWISHAM POLICE STATION. like Dan realises everything there is going smoothly and this isn't going to work and immediately turns on Ollie, who then just apologises, desperately tries to prove himself useful by offering advice on HOW TO STAND (seriously Ollie???), and then diffuses the situation by betraying MALCOLM BLOODY TUCKER. like come on.

Ollie's job is not safe. Dan would stab him in the back in a heartbeat, and they both know it because Ollie just watched Dan throw Malcolm - THE MAN WHO GOT HIM INTO POWER AND HANDLED ANY OPPOSITION FOR HIM- over. and for what??? to make sure nothing taints his image? or because that's a level of power he doesn't want to compete with?

Ollie is not safe because even Malcolm was not safe, and whilst Ollie might have become Malcolm, he's not nearly as good at it (yet). even Dan and Ollie's post s4 semi-casual, deeply secret relationship (they resume their S1 shit, but with way more mutual self hatred, deep distrust, ambition, and genuine disgust for each other, trust me) won't save him because Dan has out Ollied Ollie.

he is, in fact, even more of a slimy, self-serving piece of shit, and they've climbed the political ladder together, so now one of them has to push the other off with a knife in their back.

How do you think Malcolm and shy genius reader get together?

would def have to be a group/partner project

since you don’t really talk/socialize much, malcolm finally gets a chance to talk to you when you have to do an assignment together. he’s a bit thrown off by the fact that you’re so knowledgeable about whatever subject it is, but you don’t flaunt the fact that you’re really smart

if it’s a group project, he starts trying to get you to engage more with the group, even tho you insist that you’re fine doing whatever part you were given quietly

then he invites you to his house to work on the project, which probably ends up in you eating dinner with his family bc his mom insisted. then she’ll probably insist that he drives you home if you walked there

and once he’s parked in front of your house, he’ll walk you to the door bc he doesn’t want to part from you yet

then maybe you kiss his cheek to thank him and before you open the door, he can’t help but pull you back and kiss you🤭 (haven’t seen the show but kinda like that kiss between jess and nick in new girl)

Hello, I wanted to show a little of those two OCs of mine cause they're adorable as adoptive father/daughter duo-

Bianca's always been a very smart and studious person, and very hard working too, to the point of sometimes overworking herself.

Sometimes she falls asleep in her study desk or in a work desk, usually Malcolm goes to check if she's alright, and makes sure she's resting comfortably.

When she falls asleep in the office, he stays around till she wakes up to close the place himself and make sure she doesn't forget anything.

Even though Malcolm thinks that Bianca shouldn't be as hard on herself with her studies and work (Who wants to study to DEATH, when you're already dead??), a part of him is quite proud with her diligence and good results.

i’ve liked dominic fike for a while, but i never really got into him, only listening to a few songs. sometime last week, i heard “why” for the first time, and i was instantly hooked. i fell in love with that song. i think i listened to it 11 times in the past week.

after i found that song, i went through a lot of his discography and added a bunch of his songs to my likes. some standout favorites of mine would be “why”, “westcoast collective”, and “frisky”.

one my friends said he thought i would like her music and recommended the albums “mama’s gun” and “baduizm”. i saved the albums to listen to later, but i kind of forgot about them until i watched her tiny desk performance. i really fell in love with her music from there. i had never really listened to that genre of music before, so it was really refreshing. i went through a lot of her discography, my favourite albums being the two that my friend recommended.

i’ve also liked faye webster for a while, but i hadn’t been listening to her recently. i started listening to her again, and i really love her sound. some of my favorites from her are “better distractions”, “in a good way”, “jonny”, “lego ring”, and “tttttime”.

i discovered jordan ward from his tiny desk on npr. i haven’t gotten too deep into his discography, but i really like his music so far. my favorite from him at the moment are “famjam4000” and “lil baby crush”, the latter being my second most played song at the moment.

kali uchis

kali uchis is another artist who i’ve liked for a while, but never really got into. her music is very catchy and she has an incredible voice. some of my favorites from her are “flight 22”, “your teeth in my neck”, “just a stranger”, and “speed”.

lil yatchy

at the beginning of this year, i got really into lil yatchy’s album “let’s start here.” my favorite song off of the album has to be “running out of time.” i love the heavy bass in his songs so much. i also listened to and liked his collaboration album with concrete boys “it’s us vol. 1”

mac miller

i had only listened to a few of mac miller’s songs previously, but one of my friends suggested i listen to “balloonerism”, a recently released album that he had previously scrapped. overall, i don’t think there was a single song that i didn’t like. my favorite off of the album would have to be “funny papers.”

magdalena bay

i had been listening to magdalena bay since their 2020 album “a little rhythm and a wicked feeling”, though i hadn’t stopped listening to them until recently. i absolutely love the album “imaginal disk”. some of my favorites from the album would be “death & romance”, “killing time”, and “love is everywhere.” a fun fact i learned is that she worked with lil yatchy on his song “running out of time” and used the same baseline in that song for “love is everywhere.”

malcolm todd

i discovered malcolm todd not long after he released his ep “shower shoes” in 2023 and have loved him since. i always knew he was going to blow up, and over the course of the past few months, he’s been gaining a lot of traction online, which has been really cool to see. his most recent album “sweet boy” is incredible, as well as the singles he’s been releasing recently.

i love his entire discography, but my stand outs would have to be “mac”, “intercourse”, “earrings”, “rodrick rules”, “4me 4me”, “roommates”, “sweet boy”, and “you owe me”.

steve lacy

again, i’ve loved steve lacy for a while now, but i’ve recently been listening to “gemini rights” on repeat. my stand outs from him would be “buttons”, “give you the world”, “sunshine”, “that’s no fun”, and “n side”.
