fun fact, during Capaldi's tenure as The Doctor, three different regulars from The Thick of It showed up as guests!
Rebecca Front (Nicola Murray in The Thick of It) guest starred as Colonel Walsh in s09e07 - The Zygon Invasion
Tony Gardner (Dan Miller in The Thick of It) guest starred as Douglas, the hungover scientist of s10e07 - The Pyramid at the End of the World
Chris Addison (Ollie Reeder in The Thick of It) appeared in three episodes of the 8th season (The Caretaker, Dark Water and Death in Heaven) as Seb, Missy's AI interface assistant.
Out of the three, Capaldi only shared a scene (actually two scenes) with Rebecca Front, though - which is apparently more than enough for a silly little dialogue crossover mashup:

I know I've been gone this last week, and I had some important tests and very little time
Still, I had some funny doodles to share with you guys. I hope you like them!

My writers creativity is telling me to start the next chapter with a cold open of a sex scene. My repressed, embarrassed little brain is screaming no. What do I do?

How do you think Malcolm and shy genius reader get together?
would def have to be a group/partner project
since you don’t really talk/socialize much, malcolm finally gets a chance to talk to you when you have to do an assignment together. he’s a bit thrown off by the fact that you’re so knowledgeable about whatever subject it is, but you don’t flaunt the fact that you’re really smart
if it’s a group project, he starts trying to get you to engage more with the group, even tho you insist that you’re fine doing whatever part you were given quietly
then he invites you to his house to work on the project, which probably ends up in you eating dinner with his family bc his mom insisted. then she’ll probably insist that he drives you home if you walked there
and once he’s parked in front of your house, he’ll walk you to the door bc he doesn’t want to part from you yet
then maybe you kiss his cheek to thank him and before you open the door, he can’t help but pull you back and kiss you🤭 (haven’t seen the show but kinda like that kiss between jess and nick in new girl)

Connie Williams (seated) and a dancer at the Calypso on Macdougal Street in Greenwich Village, ca. 1945.
The Calypso was a Caribbean establishment run by Williams, a Trinidadian restaurateur, where musical performances, soul food, and intellectual banter mixed with a steady flow of liquor. It was a spiritual home of sorts for James Baldwin in his first years in the Village. He got a job there as a waiter, and when he wasn't working he'd be drinking with the artist Beauford Delaney or Marlon Brando, a lifelong friend and supporter. It was a space where races mixed freely, which was still unusual at the time, and on a given night you might have seen Paul Robeson or Henry Miller eating side by side with Burt Lancaster or, later, Malcolm X.

Yesterday, I had an epiphany. I have a type for male characters I like so much. They’re normally gruff, rude, and sometimes on the wrong side of the conflict before being shown to actually be soft little kittens underneath. I don’t know what this says about me, but I’m ok with it. Or they come off as absolute playboys- but totally have eyes for one person only. Like give me a good redemption arc, or the start of one, and that it’s. I’m done.
