it was closing time, and rapunzel was doing some last minute touch ups before she headed home for the evening. humming to herself, shoes removed, broom in hand; she felt some much needed peace. however, she was startled by the sound of the door chiming as it swung open, jumping a bit and clinging to the broom handle as she spun to see who it was. at first, her stomach collapsed in on itself as the shadowy figure looked exactly like maude... but she released an exhale upon realizing it wasn't her once the stranger stepped into the light. "gosh, you scared me. sorry for jumping like that." offering an apologetic smile, the blonde tilted her head. "i'm just about to close up but... is there something i can help you with?"

I am begging for more explanation about the Rex-gets-his-balls-cut-off AU

oh MAN its a few years old and very heavy themes but the summary of that part is that in this au post 66 Rex fallen way off da wagon and goes from shitty job to shittier job until he's getting traded around doing slave labor and one of the slavers he ends up with castrates their workers and then he got p feeble and weaker until he was basically a rat in a box and- oh yeah this is an au where Fives doesn't DIE because we all have one of those, so instead of being shot Fives is instead chased off world by some Corrie guards and his ship is shot down on a very remote planet/the reports labeled him then as deceased and Rex took that shit at face value (stupid) but it leaves a Fives stranded at the end of the war with that crucial information for the Republic that by the time he gets off world unfortunately is too late, we fast forward several years into Empire era where this AU begins, where Fives has made a (crappy) living off of bounty hunting and has a small task to put some feral critter out of it's misery and that feces covered mal fed creacher is REX and Fives actually hates him a lot at this point because he'd been mentally imagining Rex all these years as the visual epicenter of his blame for why all this Empire shit happened since he feels like he never listened to him back on Coruscant years ago. (he looked like this wet sock at about this point):

but u know now that he has the easiest opportunity to kill him it's literally so fucking pathetic looking that he can't so he like takes Rex on his ship to start fixing him up and taking care of him but it's more like when ur neighbor forces some old dying sick dog on u and u don't even like dogs but u had no choice so u just glare at the thing every day as it lays in ur house pooping on ur carpet and throwing up it's dinner every night. I only ever got crappy little doodles made of some sequences it's just a fun AU to poke around in but here's some when he initially brought Rex onboard and bro was just head to toe caked in dirt and scabs

ITS A REALLY metaphorical punching bag diary page like AU but it slowly deals with two WAY mentally fucked up people, who are approaching their issues at opposite ends of the stick, where Fives feels like he's been cheated out of a revenge kill, and Rex feels so pathetic and indebted to Fives that he's asking to be killed by Fives about every 35 minutes on his ship.

so yea doodles like these were made when he was like half a year into recovery, trying to gain some weight back, medically taking hormones to make up for his MISSING BALLS and just regrow some hairs, attempted recovery to atrophied muscles, and other bummer things like keeping radios on all the time so he can hear and keep track of surviving clones in the Empire for no significant advantage other then to know which ones are still alive and junk. IT DOES GET BETTER they do work to become close again but not without a lot of bumpy roads cause neither of them are healthy

Non-cullable-mutation of the day: TAILS

Well, mostly only non-cullable for indigo and higher, or jades because of their low numbers.

We all know about tails! Mostly flexible appendages on the lower back.

Most commonly seen on seadwellers (though, not necessarily because they have it the most common, if you know what i mean).

Tails, as a part of a troll that is not usually there, can resemble the tail of practically any animal. Though they usually resemble the tails of lusii that commonly take care of trolls of that caste. It seems to be a form of lusii mimicry, to up the chances of getting picked and therefore the chance of survival.

Personal rating: 8/10. Harmless and cute. Especially when they wag!

OKAY U HAVE LIKE. THE MOST PERFECT TIMING IN THE WORLDDD because literally on . tuesday this week my freak week art got a random note out of nowhere and made me start thinking about the villains again and thinking about william wight specifically because i love him a lot. ok. so its always ALWAYS been my assumption that. this is the version of william who mal got his greasy little claws in.

william fell off the cliff and died. the wisps chose him, and he came back. mal, who has been obsessively watching the wisps since clarence's death, sensed them choosing the next whisperer and swooped in before william could even stand back up. hes disoriented, hes scared, everything hurts, hes at a bottom of a cliff and he honestly doesnt even know if hes alive or not anymore, and this stranger walks out of the forest and offers a chance to explain everything. wiwi mystery brain! he knows this is weird but he also knows like.... i dont know whats happening maybe i AM dead and this is just... waht the afterlife is like. so he goes with mal. william wisp the 16 yr old from deadwood is. well. dead. he went missing, nobody ever found his body, his family mourned him.

meanwhile the whole time mallard conway was taking william wight under his wing and training him to be a replacement. mal calls him whisperer, william is in his rebellious teen phase and wants to be called something cooler which is why he named himself Wight (a type of vengeful spirit. specifically one who was once alive and then was brought back from the dead. lol) william is still! technically half alive. so being in the spirit world for extended amounts of time (which is NOT something mortals are supposed to do, planeswalker or not,) kind of broke his brain a little bit? which is why Wight is LIke That.

williams whole thing when he was alive was solving mysteries and chasing down monsters, so that became (and forgive my use of dp fanon here, i have to) his Obsession. (obsession with a capital O because its.. ghost logic. whatever a ghost died doing becomes their core motivation in the afterlife etc etc dp fanon not sorryyyyy) so he has this. uncanny obsession for tracking down monsters when hes out of the spirit world. being separated from the spirit world for any amount of time kind of drives him nuts, hes so used to being around the dead that being around the living for extended periods of time is unsettling. hes super paranoid. he inherits mal's need for total control over a situation, which is why hes so lax about possessing people with the wisps to get them to do what he wants.

perfect that his best friend turns out to be the absolutely diehard loyal guard dog. (side note here i think he also has williams super high pain tolerance from dead nerves so he lets kota gnaw on his arms and shit) . virion is a mystery to him and he LOVES it, he cant figure this guy out, hes like an endlessly fascinating puzzle to crack open. studying him like a lab rat on a dissection table.

i think about him a normal amount. as you can tell.

This inspired the start of a sick-fic before I remembered u specified omegaverse lmao.

Malthael being inappropriate under the cut.

Rathma growled at him, low and dangerous in his chest. It only served to make Malthael chuckle as the vibrations tickled at his thighs where he was straddling the nephalem. He reached forward to rub affectionately under his chin. “That’s not going to help, you know.” Malthael teased. “I’m not letting you go anytime soon, and you’re not even that intimidating right now.”  That was a semi-lie. Not the part about being let go; Malthael was keeping his alpha tied up until he’d forcibly wrangled his rut out of him (or possibly just until he himself was satisfied), and that was that. No, despite having both hands bound above his head, and a gag clamped between his teeth, Rathma was actually still rather unnerving to behold.  It had to be something in the way he stared, Malthael thought. Plenty of Alphas had oggled him over the years, but this was something else. A level beyond. Oh, there was raw, filthy lust in those eyes. There was violent intent. But there was also a possessiveness, a fierceness he had never quite found in another angel.  It wasn’t actually all that often that Malthael got to behold his partner all splayed out like this, got to hold him still after tearing away all his trappings and armor himself. His chest and belly, pale with a smattering of black hair, were constantly rising, flexing beneath him where he had perched himself on his mate’s body. There was also the strained way his restraints creaked whenever he flexed clawed hands and lean arms. Malthael had the feeling that if Rathma truly wanted to be free, then he would be. It was a strangely giddy feeling, knowing that his alpha was letting him tease and taunt and play with him like this. Rathma must’ve been enjoying it.  With a huff through his nose, the nephalem settled once more. Back to glaring daggers.   “Good boy.” Malthael purred. He leaned in to gently kiss him on the forehead, and noted the way Rathma went completely still. Anticipating affection? Or perhaps waiting to pounce.  White skin was hot beneath his lips. Just shy of burning. Oh, his mate ran warm, warmer than humans, certainly warmer than the angels. But in the throes of rut, he’d heated up even more.  We don’t call it ‘mating fever’ for no reason. Rathma had wryly told him, before said fever had totally taken him. With a satisfied hum, Malthael inhaled, breathing in his partner's scent. It was heavier than usual, thick with pheromones and sweat-scent. He nuzzled his way down his cheek, tucked his nose up into the crook where Rathma's throat-met-jaw. Heady. Delicious. "My dear nephalem." Malthael breathed. "How I shall care for you tonight."

These are only the fluffy, happy ones. Trust me, there's also plenty of angst and hurt/comfort ones.

He is so extremely curious. He wants to know everything about the world around him. Because the other two (Desdemona and Hunter) were imprisoned after they had started talking (two and four respectively) and because his father and Maleficent spoke to him he does know how to talk and knows a few words, but he has the word vocabulary of a five-year-old. But gods, he's so eager to expand on that. He wants to know what everything is. He wants to taste every food, feel every fabric, hear every sound, smell every scent- he wants to explore his world. He's as curious as Jay used to be before Jafar made him think he was too stupid to understand anything.

He's shy but somehow still so friendly. If someone is his age (he has trauma with adults) or younger, he'll start a conversation with them. Part of this is him wanting to learn more about the world, but most of it is because he just wants to know people. He grew up with five people in his life full-stop, and now there's so many people and he's so excited.

He's severely dyslexic and has severe ADHD, like Jay. Unlike Jay, his vision is terrible. His glasses are a prescription so strong that they give you a headache the second you put them on, it takes your eyes five minutes to adjust to them, and then, once you take them off, it takes your eyes ten minutes to go back to normal. Yes, he is absolutely thrilled by the finer details of the world.

He doesn't like rats, but he's very curious about other animals.

And art. His art is far more abstract than what Mal, Claudine, and Evie do, but he's having fun.

He was a bit of a parrot as a child, like Jay and Riah. The second he learned how to use his tongue he was copying every word and sound he heard. He had no idea what they meant, but he was content to just make the sounds as children are. The difference with him is that, while he eventually realized that the sounds had meanings, he didn't know the meanings for most sounds

He's slow to learn, naturally, but, because Jay and Riah are tutoring him, he remains undiscouraged. He actually has a real gift for math, at least the problems that only have the symbols, no words. Like Jay, he hates word problems.

He thinks his brother is the coolest person on the entire planet. Jay is his hero and his best friend and he knows so much and is so nice and makes sure no one hurts him-

He was punished for stimming as a child but, after seeing the other Isle kids doing it, he started doing it again. His most common stims are running his fingers through his hair, rocking, flapping his hands, and bouncing

Why are rain frogs so round? What's /inside/ of them around such an itty bitty skeleton?

So it turns out this is a really interesting question.

The first thing we must be aware of is that rainfrogs as we see them in videos of them squeaking are not quite the same shape as they are when at rest:

But you are quite right, they are very round. This is exemplified by the skeletal photo you refer to:

So what are we seeing?

Well, firstly, note that the body cavity in these frogs actually envelops the femurs, such that only the tibiofibula (fused in frogs) and the tarsals and metatarsals are outside the body. The arms are quite similarly enveloped, but a bit of the humerus does extend outside the body cavity too. This predisposes them to a rounder body shape.

Next, note the ilia - the U-shaped bone in the pelvic region. These in some breviceptid frogs are synostotically fused with the sacrum - that is to say, they are bound by bone-based connections to the bow-shaped vertebra at their tips. This whole joint seems to be quite smooth, and as a consequence, the back of the frog is quite smooth. The other thing we can see here is that the urostyle (i.e. the frog version of a coccyx) juts quite far beyond the ischium and pubis. This extends the body cavity beyond the hips. Note also that the pelvic girdle seems to be largely below the spine, rather than the typical position for frogs behind it and continuous with it. This makes the legs sit below the spine, rather than at its end, enhnacing the vertical roundness of the animal.

Next, let’s talk some soft tissue. Now, I’m not as familiar with soft-tissue in frogs as I am their skeletons, so you’ll have to bear with me a bit (rawr). Beddard (1908!!) studied the soft tissue of Breviceps verrucosus Rapp 1842. It seems that the majority of the body of these frogs is actually muscle. Beddard noted that muscles join the leg at the knee that extend into the body cavity, such that the inclusion of the thigh in the body cavity is further accentuated by musculature. The rectus abdominalis muscle is unusually large, extending from the lower abdomen up and around the sides of the body. Indeed, this large size appears to be the pattern with all of the major muscles, though in the throat the typical arrangement of large and small muscles is somewhat reversed. On the lateral side of the head, there is a substance that is not muscle, but appears to be loose tissue in which sits what is apparently the thymus gland.

There is a very large gap between the end of the urostyle and the anus (one fifth of the total length of the frog), in which there are almost no muscles, save for the one surrounding the lower cloaca. On either side of this area, between the posterior-most muscles of the thigh, lie two large ‘lymph-hearts’, as described by Beddard. These are between one quarter and one third of the total length of the frog. A further lypmh-sac sits between these lymph-hearts and the skin of the femoral region, and they are thus probably analogous to the femoral lymph-sacs of other frogs.

I find it interesting that Beddard (1908) did not mention any glandular formations in the dorsal region. As is evidence from many images (see below), these frogs are able to secrete a white, sticky, noxious substance from their skin (which they actually have to use during amplexus, as the male is too small relative to the female to mount her properly, and so he sticks himself to her with his glandular glue… kinky).

Zuerst klingt alles ganz super. Nach dem Crash verspricht die Versicherung des Unfallverursachers Ihnen, alles schnell und unkompliziert zu regeln: „Wir zahlen alles, übernehmen die komplette Abwicklung und ersparen Ihnen den Stress.“

Doch darauf sollten sich Geschädigte eines Unfalls nicht einlassen, rät „Finanztest“ von Stiftung Warentest. Denn das kann teuer werden, erklären die Experten.

Besser ist es, die Abwicklung des Unfallschadens selbst in der Hand zu behalten und sich immer einen Anwalt und bei Schäden welche größer 750€ zu sein scheinen (Bagatellgrenze) einen Sachverständigen zu nehmen, wenn man keine Schuld am Unfall hat.

Die Tricks der Versicherer

Nach einem Unfall versuchen die Versicherer des Unfallverursachers möglichst schnell direkt an die Geschädigten heranzukommen.

Ziel: Die Opfer sollen sich gar nicht erst über Ihre Rechte und das, was ihnen zusteht, informieren!

Finanztest“: „So können sie viele Ansprüche unter den Tisch fallen lassen. Regelt die gegnerische Versicherung alles, bleibt für den Autobesitzer ungewiss, ob die Werkstatt neue Teile einbaut oder gebrauchte oder das verbogene Teil wieder zurechtdengelt.“

Tipp: Nicht den gegnerischen Versicherer kontaktieren, lautet deshalb die oberste Regel der Verbraucher-Experten!

„Finanztest“: Der gegnerische Versicherer „ist nicht der Partner des Geschädigten, schon gar nicht Helfer, sondern will die maximal mögliche Ersparnis für sich selbst herausholen.“

Auch wenn die Schuldfrage nach einem Autounfall klar ist – die Experten raten selbst bei kleineren Schäden dazu, sich immer einen Anwalt zu nehmen.

Was mehr als ein guter Rat ist: Das Oberlandesgericht in Frankfurt am Main meinte in einem Fall, es kann „geradezu als fahrlässig erscheinen, einen Schaden ohne Einschaltung eines Rechtsanwalts abzuwickeln.“ (Az. 22 U 171/13)

Jeder Geschädigte hat das Recht, sich auf Kosten des Gegners einen Anwalt und/oder Gutachter zu nehmen.

Eine weitere wichtige Regel für Unfallgeschädigte: Akzeptieren Sie nie den Gutachter des gegnerischen Versicherers!

Auch hier können Geschädigte gegebenenfalls auf Kosten des Unfallverursachers ein Gutachten in Auftrag geben. Nur bei einer Teilschuld muss ein Anteil selbst bezahlt werden.

Anders als bei den Anwaltskosten kommt es beim Gutachten aber auf die Schadenhöhe an. Voraussetzung dafür, dass die gegnerische Versicherung zahlen muss, ist ein Schaden von mindestens 750Euro.“ Teilweise beziffern die Gerichte die nötige Schadenhöhe auf 1000-1500€ zur Wahrung der Verhältnismäßigkeit.

Gutachter für Schadenumfang und Schadenshöhe

Zunächst müssen Schadenumfang und Schadenshöhe nach dem Unfall bestimmt werden.

Dies erfolgt durch ein Schadengutachten, welches ein unabhängiger Gutachter erstellen sollte und das zugleich die Beweissicherung gewährleistet.

Das Sachverständigengutachten trifft zugleich eine Aussage über die Höhe der Nutzungsausfallentschädigung, die Wertminderung und weitere Schadenspositionen, die der Geschädigte vom Schädiger (Verursacher) bzw. dessen Versicherer beanspruchen kann.

Kostenvoranschlag oder Gutachten?

Schnell mal einen Kostenvoranschlag holen und ab damit zur gegnerischen Versicherung - VORSICHT !

Bei dem Kostenvoranschlag handelt es sich, genauer betrachtet, um die kleine Variante des Gutachtens, sodass es nicht nur schneller fertig ist, sondern auch günstiger. Klar ist jedoch ebenfalls, dass ein Gutachten wesentlich präziser und genauer ist und für Sie als Fahrzeughalter nur von Vorteil sein kann. Die Gutachten von Sachverständigen enthalten im Gegensatz zu dem typischen Kostenvoranschlag ebenfalls Bilder sowie detaillierte Aufzählungen des Schadens und der Kosten. Da ein Gutachten von der Versicherung jedoch erst ab einem Schadenswert ab 750 Euro bezahlt werden muss, sollte das Vorgehen mit dem Sachverständigenbüro abgesprochen werden.

“CDU feiert Obdachlosen”

Ich erhielt dafür heute auf sehr großzügige Weise einen Eier-Pfannkuchen mit Apfelmuss geschenkt, ausgerechnet vom Rathaus in Potsdam selber kam er, es waren städtische Mitarbeiter, sie gehörten der Obdachlosenhilfe an, welche in einem Gebäude untergebracht ist, das in direkter Nachbarschaft zu ihm liegt, die Stadt finanziert ihre Arbeit!

Nur kam ich wieder gar nicht erst dazu mit dem Zuendeessen auch von ihm! Denn bevor das so erneut hätte vielleicht wieder geschehen können, erhielt ich auch hier wieder eine noch vorherige Warnung! Danach ließ ich es auch hier wieder ganz!

“Sie können Humor besitzen so viel wie sie wollen, so wie sie es formulierten, oder ihnen leid tun, aber essen sie doch erstmal den Pfannkuchen zu ende auf da vor sich, so mein Rat!!” (*eine andere Obdachlose mir gegenüber, deren Sohn wohl eine Haftstrafe verbüßt, während sie nach wie vor ohne Wohnung ist.
