Scammers sophistication technique have reached a new apex, making Banking Fraud just like a walk in the park to this crime syndicates with richer background helter-skelters depositors and has been keeping most retirees that reinvested most of their retirement plan sleepless after words of the threat that swept the streets does not seem to have not weakened at all.
Masses are appealing for a more stringent countermeasure to be in place as soon as possible, such are adding more authentication request. Although retina scanner can slow down the process with the amount or rather the size of the data, but it also gives us an opportunity of having time to lockout perpetrators. The size of the data makes it at least 70% better than an iris scan and many more folds multiplied compared to a fingerprint.
Several years ago, I foresaw that the mCommerce (mobile commerce) would be ruled out as the mainstay of electronic processing for the sole reason that it is the most affordable business appliance that can serve the majority, representing the poor to medium class and the trending plot of global economic structure just like a triangle.
Having mCommerce | Mobile Technology as our economic transport offers the possibility of catering and adding the biggest chunk of our global population to pitch in the global trade for us to achieve having reserves and surplus will be more conceivable.
To make it a little impenetrable and globally under tighter scrutiny, I proposed that we adopt the universal identification system. We will integrate every other form of identity attached to it using our mobile number as the key index that will permanently our lifetime phone number. In the event of loss, the telco will make a SIM based on a secret code given to the subscriber upon the receipt of your subscription and issuance, which will be honored and will be service by other Telcos if subscriber opt to change carrier. The number coding of telcos should also compliment tracking effort, narrowed down within the radius and range of a few kilometers apart where the last signal was received or transmitted. The succeeding successful connection recorded by cell sites would enable us to speculate the linear direction as it trends.
We will enable the mobile technology to be a conduit of payment gateways or as a payment gateway itself. Our objective is to open the global trade and cover a larger scope and as far-reaching it could service most specially the marginalized poor a chance to lift their social status getting connected and finally be able to join our bandwagon to the brighter future. The fact can't be denied that they have been left without an adequate means to tap the convenience and business opportunity through eCommerce. Through the mobile payment gateway, even in the absence of a banking system in their region, they can now fulfill the checkout process by loading or charging it from your telco which is even less intricate than having a debit card or as to many known financial credibility.

I'm a cop in a municipality, currently riding a desk job because of an injury. I take dozens of calls from scam and fraud victims. Most of the victims are ages 40 and above. I'd like to take some time to detail the most common scams I'm aware of, and then give you some preventative measures to stop them from being effective. Please share this information with anyone in your circle of friends or family, but particularly the elderly, who are frequently and easily targeted.Common Scams:"This is the IRS." The caller purports to be an IRS investigator. They tell you that you have miscalculated your taxes, and owe money. They have agents in the field right now looking to arrest you and seize your assets. You need to make a payment now."You missed jury duty." The caller says they are from the county court system. You missed jury duty and must pay the fines and fees or face immediate arrest."You have a misdemeanor warrant." The caller claims to be from your local police department. You have a traffic warrant and must pay your bond over the phone or you will be arrested. Officers are out looking for you right now."Grandpa, I need help." Usually targeting the elderly, the caller claims to be your grandson or daughter. (I can find grandpa's Facebook page, where relationships are labelled, to identify who grandson is). The caller says they've been detained at a border (depending on your location) or arrested fro DUI after an accident in Las Vegas. IN the case of the DUI, the other person involved is a celebrity so the case has been sealed. Don't even bother looking in to it because you won't be able to find any details. This is the special prosecutor and your grandson needs money for legal fees, now."We are from the International Monetary Grant Fund." This is a newer one, to me, and it targets younger people as well. The caller is from the International Grant Fund or Department of Federal Grants, or something similar. They are calling you because you their agency rewards or assist people that A) Have no criminal record, B) Are widowed, C) Are unemployed. They want to send you money, because you deserve it. They just need payment for some transfer fees, a special stamp fee, a courier fee, etc."Your computer has been infected." The caller purports to be from Microsoft, and your computer alerted them that it's been infected. They walk you through turning on the computer and granting them remote access. Once inside, several things occur. They attempt to elicit payment for "fixing it," they install a virus on it and demand ransom to release it, and I believe that they also examine and remove personal identifying information from it."The lonely hearts club." This is not a call in scam, but still common. Scammers target single, lonely, adult women on dating sites. It's a long con, but it pays off. They are in the military and deployed. They start a relationship. Then they need money to fly home to visit. Just $800 for airline tickets, but we can finally meet, my love! Oh no, I was detained by foreign police. They found something in my suitcase. It was money, a lot of money that I'd been saving up to share with you. Pay my bond! Get me home! Ok, I'm out. But they held the money. Help me pay the legal taxes and import fees and I'll share it with you. We'll marry, and be rich! And on and on and on.Some common themes:The caller will speak confidently, aggressively, and quickly. They attempt to use fear, emotions, and false authority to overwhelm the person they are calling in to submitting. You must act now! If you don't comply immediately there will be serious negative consequences. This can not wait and you can't get back to them. You can not hang up the phone! If you hang up you are in violation of something. They will keep you on the phone for hours at a time, while you drive to your bank, to the store, etc.You can not ask anyone for help! Don't talk to people in the background! Don't participate in collusion of any kind. Speak only to the caller. If you can't afford what they're demanding, they'll magically accept less. Have a $5000 warrant? Maybe the judge will accept $1000. You grandson needs $10,000. But he could put a $5000 deposit up front. $1000 courier fee is too much? We could use a different company for $650.What you paid is never enough. Once you pay the original request, an additional fee, tax, amount will appear that needs to be settled."We don't accept credit card." The scammers know that credit card payments can be charged back. Bank transfers are easily tracked, and can, at times be reversed (though I do occasionally still see bank transfers where they open up fraud accounts and shut them down after receiving payment). Western Union is a huge channel for fraud. In fact, I'm convinced that no legitimate use for Western Union exists. But WU is used mostly for Craigslist and email scams. Our phone scammers prefer gift cards. Apple iTunes, Walmart, Greendot, etc. And you can buy them anywhere. Walgreens, CVS, grocery store, Home Depot, and so on."Wait, are you saying people really buy $7500 in iTunes gift cards?" Yes. And it blows my mind. They'll buy them $500 at a time. They'll spend 4 hours visiting 15 stores so they can purchase all the cards the caller is demanding. Once purchased the victim reads the code to the scammer. And within the next 20 seconds the funds are gone."Can't you just contest the charges/card?" No. If you walk in to Walgreens and decide to purchase a $500 gift card for a scammer, that isn't the credit card company's fault. They will not reverse the charges to absorb the loss. If you paid cash, well, it's gone anyway. And the gift card companies are no help either. You willingly purchased the cards and gave the numbers away."But I'm a victim here. Someone get me my money back." Craigslist has a bold warning on each page not to fall for scams, wire money, or conduct internet transactions. Western Union makes you sign a statement that says you personally know the person that is receiving the funds, and want them to have them. Gift Cards have a warning on the back that say "Treat This Card Like Cash." Unfortunately, people are blinded by greed or fear and they disregard the warnings."Ok, officer. Do you job and get the money." I can't. It'll write a subpoena for the gift card info. It'll take 4-12 weeks to get that subpoena back from the court. Then I'll serve it on the company. They'll take 2-8 weeks to get me the info back. It was transferred to another card #. Repeat process, repeat answer. Eventually the funds leave the border of the US. I'm done. I chase ghosts. All day. I write subpoenas that I know will lead no where. Money moves in seconds, paperwork in months. Your money is gone. It's supporting pirates in west Africa, terrorism in the middle east, criminal syndicates in eastern Europe, India, or Pakistan./u/ForensicUnit's Rules For Not Getting ScammedNo legitimate government agency, company, or corporation accepts gift cards as payment, unless you are using a Walmart gift card to pay for a Walmart product. There is no reason to ever purchase a gift card, unless you intend to give it as a gift.Incoming calls do not receive payment. Ever. EVER! Let's say Chase calls you, and they say "Hey, this is Chase, and your credit card payment is late." I don't care if you have a chase card. I don't care if it really is late. You tell them "Ok, I'll call you right back and pay that." Then you hang up, find a number for Chase that you know is legit (on your card, your statement, etc) and you call them to make a payment. You never pay anyone that is calling you.If it's high pressure, it's fraud. If it feels off, hang up immediately.Have someone to trust to contact. If there's a high pressure call coming in making outrageous claims, have mom or dad hang up and call the contact. Maybe it's you, maybe it's an uncle, or niece. Maybe it's the 20 something neighbor. But have them hang up and call a trusted person for advice.Call the police. If there is no family, no friend, no one to turn to, call us. Call me and say "I was just told there's a warrant for my arrest. I'm really scared. They wanted $1500 from me." I'll check. If you have a warrant, I'll let you know and tell you how to resolve it. It almost always involved seeing a judge, not paying a gift card. If you don't, I'll reassure you that it's okay and you were being scammed.Craigslist transactions are done in person, and in person only, for cash. You can use the parking lot or lobby of your local police department to conduct the transaction if you're worried about your personal safety.I am doing my best to investigate crimes that occurred, and stop new ones from occurring. I started a campaign in my city to try to educate loss prevention and management staff at large retails about these scams. I'd ask that if you work in retail, and someone is buying several hundred dollars in gift cards that you simply ask "Are these gifts, or did someone tell you to buy them? That's a common scam." It may give someone just a second of clarity to stop, and ask more questions. If you have an older parents or friend, print of the rules and tape them on the wall by their phone or next to their favorite chair. Include emergency contact numbers on it as well. But most importantly discuss this information with your loved ones BEFORE they get the call, not AFTER they lost their savings.Thanks. via /r/LifeProTips
