Hold up. Childhood friend Rayqauza? I mean cool, but I feel like I'm missing something?
Lol, so Ikrit’s home region is Hoenn, & while we started his timeline with Sapphire, it was more like Emerald. 🐉☁️
He has a similar close relationship with Rayquaza as Ansy does Reshiram. It’s that closeness that helped him work together with them to bust the meteoroid containing Deoxys years later as an adult (he was dating Ansy at the time, taking her to visit his home region - then the Delta Episode happened lol).
*For more context, this is what the Asker was asking about lol:

Hey! Can you do ranpo with a reader who likes spicy foods? since ranpo like sweets it would be a cute idea to see how would ranpo react!
-Anon ☘️
A/n:I have no idea how this is gonna turn out, but here you go nonnie!! (Haven't written for Ranpo before, so bear with me)
Loading...
"Alright I'm gonna go to the store. Does somebody need something, because i am not going again later?" Kunikida quickly said before taking his book.
Ranpo was currently sitting on his desk in the Ada while you were next to him doing some documents. Dazai has asked Kunikida to grab something for him from the store and he didn't have a choice.
"Hokkaido Potato Chips!" "Mochies and Daifuku!" You and Ranpo both screamed at the same time, then looked at eachother? "You want THAT? Do you have any idea how spicy is that?!?" "Yeah i do, that's why i want it!" He opened his eyes to look at you. "Why would you want something so spicy instead of something sweet??" "Because i think spicy is better?" There was a moment of silence between both of you.
"No." "What do you mean no?" "Spicy isn't better than sweet!" "Well I don't think like that" "Think again then! As the world's best detective, i know what's best!!" "That doesn't even make sense?!" "It does!! You just don't get it!!" He pouted and crossed his arms, while Dazai was just standing there looking at what's happening.
You rested your head on your hand. "Ugh okay you know what, yes sweet is better, happy?" He smirked. "A lot actually." He said as he stood up walking out of the room. "Kunikida-kun get me the chips, please" "Understood"
"But you just yold him-" "Shut up Atsushi." "But you-" "Yes i did told him, but otherwise he would keep telling me otherwise, would have liked to just here and listen to a conversation about which is better, sweet or spice, hm?" "No..." "Then don't say a thing"

Happy Holidays! Could I have Housewardens + Jamil with a female s/o who cooks/bakes food for the holidays for them and their dorms? Thank you!
I'm so sorry that this took so long, Anon! I hope you had your fair share of happy holidays in the past few weeks!
Riddle Rosehearts
What you made: Strawberry tart with chocolate message over the top
It was a no-brainer that Riddle favored strawberry tarts over all other desserts, so you decided to add something that would definitely appeal to his sweet tooth. You had chosen to write a message upon the tart in chocolate.
The following day, you went to Heartslabyul and presented a neatly wrapped box to your boyfriend. The Housewarden had to admit that he wasn’t expecting a gift from you, but he was excited nonetheless. He carefully unwrapped the box to see a neatly packaged tart with a message in chocolate, saying Happy Holidays!
He then led you over to the table that he was previously sitting at and asked you to stay and share the dessert with him. It was silly to think one would eat a tart on their lonesome when they had such great company. He waited until you sat down to push your chair in. He cut the tart into two pieces, and you both had a wonderful time hanging out with each other.
Leona Kingscholar
What you made: Medium-rare 8 oz. steaks with mashed potatoes and collard greens
You knew how much Leona loved meat, but you also knew that he hated vegetables. So you invited him over for a low-key date. He was down, mainly because you agreed that you would cuddle with him under the stars as you both enjoyed a picnic with each other.
When Leona showed up in his pj’s along with a few blankets, he had to admit that you looked gorgeous, even though you were just wearing plaid pajama pants and a t-shirt. When you both sat down, he didn’t like how far away you were from him so he pulled you closer. Your knees were touching, and he got his serving (he even picked up some greens).
For the next few hours, you both just talked about whatever came to mind. Leona told you about how there was a legend in his homeland that said the stars were the great kings that passed years ago. He expected you to laugh, but you had fallen asleep. He took this time to admire you and how sweet you were for making sure he had a good meal.
Azul Ashengrotto
What you made: Fried chicken with green beans, sweet potatoes, and fried okra
Azul had invited you over to the Mostro Lounge for a private date in his office. He hadn’t been able to hang out with you all week and he missed you, so you thought it would be extra special to make him his favorite food. However, since you knew that Azul was worried about gaining weight, you paired the chicken with some healthier sides.
When the cecaelia sees you in the doorframe, he is so relieved. He walks over and presses a kiss on your cheek while he takes the food from your hands and places it on his desk. When he opens it, he is immediately hit with the wonderful smells.
He was trained to be a gentleman, so he had you sit down across from him at his desk and he even pushed in your chair for you. As you both served yourselves, you indulged in great conversations. Azul deems the fried chicken as the best he’s ever had. Maybe it’s because his girlfriend made it for him and therefore was made with your love. He’s been told that it makes food taste better.
Kalim Al-Asim
What you made: Mango mochi with coconut milk.
You were aware of Kalim’s taste for coconut, so you decided to make him a dessert that had elements of coconut in it. It ended up being a Japanese-tropical theme dessert in the end, but you were absolutely certain that your boyfriend was going to love it.
The excitement on his face as he opened Scarabia’s door to find you with a container of food. He trusted you with his life, and that meant you were able to make him some food without him feeling like he was in danger of being poisoned. He led you to the lounge where he helped you to the ground. He sat next to you and opened the container.
He had to admit that this was one of the best desserts he has ever had. The mango and coconut paired nicely with each other. You held up a mochi to his mouth and he ate it out of your hand. Before you had the chance to bring your hand back down, he quickly swallowed the mochi and pressed a kiss to the palm and gave you a beaming smile.
Jamil Viper
What you made: Thai chicken coconut curry
You both decided that since Jamil wouldn’t be able to have time to hang out with you by yourselves, it was best for you to join him in making dinner for his dorm. Curry was chosen to be the main course, and so you rolled up your sleeves and started making it.
You both had fun cooking with each other. It was one of your favorite pastimes, and it made Jamil’s chore seem more tolerable. You were a great team, and you operated as though you could read each other’s minds. It was truly a magnificent sight.
As you were finishing setting up the table, Jamil quietly walked up behind you and placed his hands on your hips while burying his face in the crook of your neck. His breath tickled you, but you leaned back into his arms. He whispered a small thank you, and you just stood there for a bit until it was time to serve dinner.
Vil Schoenheit
What you make: A strawberry-banana smoothie with rutabaga vegetable shakshuka
Vil likes to eat healthy, so you decided that you should make him breakfast so he doesn’t always have to drink the smoothies he makes every single morning. You texted him the night before and told him that you were making him food for him in the morning so that he wouldn’t make anything.
He admitted to himself that he was very excited to see what you would make. He was certain you knew his food preferences, and he knew about your talents in the culinary arts. He is placing a lot of trust in you since breakfast is the most important meal of his day. You gently woke him up, and it was a waking up he welcomed happily.
He thought the food was heavenly, it was a nice change of pace rather than having another smoothie by itself. He was happy to hear that all the ingredients were clean and healthy, and he considers taking you up on your offer about giving him some recipes he could try. Before you left, he made sure to place a gentle kiss on your temple before walking you to the door.
Idia Shroud
What you make: Chocolate Peppermint Cookies
Your lovely boyfriend had a sweet tooth himself, so you thought that you would treat him to some cookies. Since the holidays were nearing, you thought it was fitting to incorporate some candy canes into the treat. That’s how you came up with the idea.
The next afternoon, when classes were out of session, you brought the container of cookies over to Ignihyde. Idia opened the door and kind of pulled you inside. At this point, he had gotten very comfortable around you and was slowly growing accustomed to physical touch. He looked at the cookies and he was touched that you would go out of your way to do something like this for him.
You reached in, grabbed a cookie, and brought it to Idia’s mouth. The ends of his hair went bright pink as he leaned forward and took a bite out of the baked good. He treasured soft moments like these more than you would ever know.
Malleus Draconia
What you made: Peppermint bark ice cream
Over the course of your relationship Malleus has given you so much, such as the heart of his dragon hoard. You decided that since they didn’t have the best chef in Diasomnia, you would repay a small ounce of his generosity by making him his favorite frozen treat.
The dragon fae was super excited when he saw you at the front door of his dorm, and you seemed to have a basket in your hand. After gently taking it from you when you entered, he set it on the table before going to wrap you in a hug. You then took his hand and led him to the basket, and took out the preserved container of ice cream.
The expression on his face made you think of a golden retriever getting a treat. As he dives in (don’t worry, you get a serving as well), you explain the intention behind it. He stops eating and tells you with a straight face that he gave you the emerald because he saw you as his mate and that it was basic dragon culture to give their lover the heart of their hoard. You blushed so freaking hard.

hm… 💜 or 💚 for the color prompt?
[asmr voice] feeds him ourple
[stuffing, mild tummyache]
Morty was excited about the color-themed mukbang video somebody had suggested. Purple was the request, and he'd gone to Dollar Tree to see what he could find before hitting the grocery store for some nicer foods. Some of it was candy and other snacks that needed only to be removed from the package, some required cooking or at least some level of prep work, but once he had his purple assortment of treats ready and laid out in an eye-catching presentation, he was pretty pleased with himself.
He silently held up the first item--a blueberry milkshake--and took a sip. He'd picked it up from a local burger place just before starting, and he made sure to show the logo on the cup. Accompanying the shake as a secondary beverage, he revealed with a grimace, was a can of grape soda. He carefully cracked it open, taking a moment to let the fizz crackle softly beside the mic before taking a reluctant sip. He'd always felt that grape was the worst of the artificial fruit flavors--watermelon, he believed, was the best--but it was purple, and that was all that mattered right now. Besides, he'd have plenty of snacks between sips to wipe the taste from his mouth.
The first food he had to share was a small plate of grilled eggplant slices. He smiled proudly as he displayed them; he'd cooked them himself, and the one he'd taste tested before starting was just about the best eggplant he'd ever had, not that there was much competition. He held up a slice to show off the ring of deep indigo skin, then took a bite. They weren't particularly hot anymore, but they were still good, if a little mushy. He set the plate back down, intending to show each food before really getting started. Accompanying the eggplant in the vegetable department was a bowl of mashed purple potatoes. He hadn't actually bought those for the video; he'd picked them up at a farm market last week by pure chance, and his belly rumbled at the steamy, buttery smell. Unable to resist, he took a bite of them too before returning the bowl to the table.
Following the vegetables, he had a cutting board with an arrangement of grapes, mulberries, a few figs, and a couple of plums on it. He doubted he'd eat more than one of the plums during the video, but the visual looked nice. The mulberries had been a gift from his neighbor, who had more falling from their tree than they knew what to do with. Most of them looked more black than purple, but it was close enough.
The final group of food was the one he was most excited about--the desserts. He had a package of ube mochi, a dish of purple M&Ms he'd ordered online, a stick of purple rock candy, a row of purple Peeps, and, least excitingly, a bowl of grape jello. It was a fine variety. The star of the show, however, was a cupcake he'd bought from a local bakery. It was bright purple, with a blueberry jam filling and a nice swirl of purple frosting on top, and pieces of molded chocolate stuck on to make it look like a unicorn. The rainbow sprinkles, he supposed, wouldn't disqualify it when the rest of the treat had enough purple food coloring in it to dye his entire kitchen.
Morty took another long sip of the milkshake, then returned to his vegetables, wanting to start on them before they cooled off completely. Eggplant was something he rarely ate, both because it never impressed him any time he tried it and because it simply never occurred to him to get some, but he was pretty pleased with today's result. The slices were well-seasoned and flavorful, and he almost wished he'd made more of them, although with the amount of food he had to get through, he supposed it was a good thing he didn't. He alternated between eggplant slices and mashed potatoes for a little bit, taking care to eat slowly over the mic and not shovel everything into his mouth as fast as he could--he was starting on an empty stomach, after all, and his rumbling belly couldn't have cared less about ASMR.
Wanting to save some of the vegetables for later on in the video, Morty took a big gulp of the grape soda and switched over to the fruit. He'd never eaten a fig before, but Google had kindly informed him that he could simply bite into it skin and all, and so he did, nice and slowly, hoping to capture the sound as his teeth punctured it. He wasn't sure if he loved it, but it was good enough to draw him in for another bite, and then another. After the first fig he ate a grape and then a mulberry, crushing them slowly in his mouth. The hunger he'd started the video with was beginning to ease up as he ate, and now he felt like he could really take his time without forcing himself to, both to savor the food and to see what interesting sounds he could get out of it.
Finally, he turned to the sweets. He'd been eager to break into the mochi since he'd bought it, and he let out a soft little hum of pleasure at the sweet, gooey texture. His belly gurgled quietly as he swallowed, and he wondered whether the mic picked it up. If it didn't get that one, he was sure there would be louder sounds before long, but he didn't really care. He was aware at this point that some of his viewers went wild for it, but that fact didn't bother him any. It was inevitable anyway, eating on camera with that sensitive mic. He held up the half-eaten mochi to show off the sticky purple interior, then happily finished off the piece.
Morty alternated between the fruits, vegetables, and sweets, nibbling at one or two things for a little while before switching over to another, but the cupcake remained untouched--that was going to be dessert. Slowly but surely, he was beginning to feel full, the bulky potatoes and doughy mochi taking up a good amount of space in his belly. The heavy milkshake was doing its part as well, and between the carbonation of the soda and all the air that wound up trapped in his stomach with each carefully calibrated bite, it was becoming difficult to keep from burping into the mic. He'd had to turn away here and there to let a few tiny ones out, but he hoped nothing loud would slip out of him.
Trying to pace himself, Morty took a break from chewing to work on the rock candy. His belly gurgled as its contents settled, and sucking at the candy provoked several more soft little grumbly noises. His stomach felt snug under his baggy sweater. He supposed he might have gone a little overboard picking things out for the video, but it was alright. If he had leftovers, he'd simply get to them another time. He wanted to finish as much as he could, though, for the sake of a good long video. It was a good variety of textures to create a nice array of sounds, and he didn't want the length to fall short.
Morty looked down at the assortment of food before him, pondering what to pick up next. He'd gotten through a decent portion of everything by now, with the eggplant and potatoes being completely gone and the mulberries not far behind. The grape jello, not particularly aligning with his tastes, was the least disturbed, and he decided to give it some more attention. He didn't care for the flavor, but at least he could play around with it while he ate. He put away the rest of it fairly quickly and chased it with a good long sip of milkshake. Following that sip, to his surprise, came an audible, airy burp. Ordinarily, he'd excuse himself or apologize, but this was a no-talking video, so he just smiled sheepishly and moved on. If it was too loud, he'd edit it out later. Otherwise, it was what it was.
The jello had gone down easy, but Morty suddenly felt more bloated than ever after finishing it off so quickly. He was a little guy, small and slender, and while his capacity was bigger than one might guess by looking at him, the estimate likely wouldn't be far off. He leaned back in his chair for a moment, resting a hand on his belly with a soft sigh. It felt taut and rounded under his hand, and it grumbled away quietly as it worked on the strange combination of things he'd eaten. A loud gurgle rose up and he just barely managed to stifle another big burp. With the pressure in his stomach slightly lessened, he picked up a Peep, licked off a little bit of the sugar, and then playfully bit its head off.
Not sure how much more he could eat, he decided to prioritize the mochi next. It was one of his favorites of the things he'd put together, but while the fruits would be easy to nibble on as he got fuller, the thick, gooey dough would not. He had two pieces left in the package, and he slowly worked through them both, stretching and squishing a half-eaten piece around as he chewed. It was delicious, but it was rich and heavy, and, reluctantly, he took a careful sip of his soda between bites to break things up a little. Repulsive as it was, the carbonation was refreshing, and it conjured up another quiet burp.
To say space was running low in Morty's stomach would have been an understatement at this point; he was stuffed. With the amount of purple food packed into his belly, he was surprised he hadn't started turning purple himself yet. His belly was as tight and round as the large, firm grapes he'd been eating, and the noises it made as it digested everything would have made a good enough video on their own. He paused again, holding both hands against his tummy. If he wanted to feature that glorious unicorn cupcake, he'd have to quit on everything else now. He'd made pretty good progress, considering the contrast between the amount of food he'd started with and the size of his slim stomach; there was only a little bit left on the table before him, and it would make a good snack some other time. Right now, though, it was time for the grand finale.
With a playful flair, Morty held up the cupcake. It was impressive both in size and appearance, with its colorful sprinkles, the little chocolate unicorn ears and horn stuck into the frosting, and the unnaturally vibrant color of the cake itself. He knew the chocolate pieces would make the best sounds, and he knew that's what most viewers would be waiting for, but he decided to tease a little and lick at the frosting first. It was fluffy and almost too sweet, and there was an absurd amount of it. He took a few licks from it, almost as though it were an ice cream cone, and then, finally, he took one of the chocolate ears in his teeth and crunched down on it.
The cupcake was surprisingly good--he'd expected it to be the sort of disgustingly-sweet thing that only small children could tolerate--and he regretted that he was too stuffed to really enjoy it. It would have been fantastic on an empty stomach, but as full as he was right now, the sugary treat was only making him feel queasy. He worked at it slowly, taking sips of the soda here and there in search of some element of refreshment between mouthfuls of sticky sugar. He was beyond stuffed now, his belly straining and aching and begging him to stop, but he was determined to at least finish the cupcake. It would be a mangled mess if he tried to save part of it, and after all, he was here to put on a show.
He spent what felt like ages nibbling at the cupcake, dragging it out with tiny bites and licks, his stomach groaning uncomfortably with each little swallow. He imagined his belly must be sticking out a foot in front of him by now, although in reality it was barely even visible under his oversized sweater. Still, it felt tighter than tight, crammed so full that it ached just to breathe in, and he was beginning to doubt that he could get through the entire dessert. There wasn't much to go, though, and he was going to give it his best effort. He sighed, pausing to force up a sickly little burp, and pushed on.
Little by little, slowly but surely, he worked through the cupcake, and finally, at long last, it was gone. He swallowed the final bite with a thick gulp and fell back in his seat with a heavy sigh, resting his hands on his distended belly. That cupcake alone would have been enough to fill him up; combined with everything else he'd eaten, he felt too stuffed to move. His tummy bulged comically from his skinny frame, visible against his sweater now that he was fully leaned back, his stomach stretched so taut that it hurt to breathe. He wasn't sure he'd even be able to lean forward far enough to stop the camera. Still, he'd accomplished his goal, and for that he was pleased, even if it meant he was going to spend the rest of the day nursing one hell of a bellyache.

Would you ever write Professor Laventon headcannons where he's more of a father figure than friend to the Reader >- >?
it's been a minute since i've played PLA, and my first time writing Laventon, so I hope this suffices.
Fatherly! Laventon and Reader headcanons
Ever since you fell from the rift in the sky with nothing but the clothes on your back and your knowledge of pokemon, Laventon has worried for you.
There's no doubt you're vulnerable in this new situation, and it doesn't take long for Laventon to become attached to you.
He knows you're capable; that much is crystal clear. Your talent for pokemon handling is nothing like anything he's seen before!
But pokemon can be dangerous, and sending you out into the field by yourself, while useful, always leaves him with nervousness coiling in his gut.
He's always so relieved when you return, and will always fret over you, no matter what state you return in.
Try to exercise caution, though. If you come back hurt, he'll probably have a heart attack.
He likes to sit with you at the Wallflower over some potato mochi, talking about your discoveries that day and how it went.
Speaking of the Wallflower, he often treats you there. He wants to make sure you're eating well, and will often send you out with some extra food tucked into your satchel.
He's always delighted to see you come back with a new discovery or pokemon, particularly when that starter of yours grows up.
If you have downtime, he'll invite you to come and sit with him in his office. Not to work or anything, but to just quietly enjoy each other's company. He'll probably still end up working, though.
A few times he's gotten so absorbed into his work, and when he finally snaps out of it to check on you, he only finds your sleeping form slumped against the desk with your pokemon around you.
He's not quite able to move you, but he'll settle his jacket on you like a blanket, trying to be quiet and not disturb you.
Having come from Galar he's used to somewhat colder weather at times, so if it's particularly chilly he'll lend you his hat, chiding you about your safety and health.
He tries his best to care for you. It may come off as clumsy at times, but there's no doubt he cares for you and has come to see you as his own.
A very proud father.

Aiki, 11 Years Old:
Aiki, “11 Years Old”:
Aiki, 14 Years Old:
Aiki, “15 Years Old”:
Brief Personality: Aiki is lost. When Aiki was growing up she was a little bit of a piece of shit. Constantly teasing and prodding at people for the attention she severely lacked. But after the mountain, something changed in them. When they fell they had no memories of their past life, and when she got them back, she now didn’t know what to do with that part of her that showed up when she was scattered. She is still stubborn as ever, and after being abandoned in a village she called her home, she is more lost than ever before.
Brief Backstory:
Aiki was orphaned with her older sister shortly after she was born. She was raised by her grandfather, and was always surrounded by Pokemon from a very long age. Aiki however, didn’t know how to bond with them. Aiki did not have a good relationship with her family, and when she was younger she ended up being a bit of an ass. She wanted to be the best that no one ever was, and ended up becoming the champion of the region for a time.
Except, her rival, and childhood enemy, Cara. Ended up defeating her, and becoming the champion. Aiki was devastated at her defeat, going back home ashamed. Her grandfather paid more attention to the new champion than to comfort his granddaughter.
However, Cara disappeared.. at first people thought she was just traveling the world due to her new found fame. However after two years, Aiki got incredibly worried. I mean she didn’t CARE or anything.. Yknow it was just kinda weird… nothing deeper… it’s fine..
Aiki ended up going to the neighboring country Johto in order to find Cara, eventually finding her on the top of a mountain, alone. Aiki ended up battling Cara, and losing, having some major injuries from the fight, she remembers passing out with Cara standing above her. Aiki does not remember what happened after that, as it was all a giant blur of pixels and static.
Aiki was transported all over the world. All time periods. And now that she is free from her curse she now has time to reflect on her life and how much she has changed.

Uh, hello, I'm Aspen. He/they. I live with Professor Blackburn in Montenevera, Paldea and I'm attending Naranja-Uva Academy, I don't stay at the dorms though so I have to commute.
Roto set this up for me, it thought this would help me get more use to other people. I was kinda sheltered in a way so people tend to confuse me.
I like reading and history, I really enjoy Ms Raifort's classes. I also like potato mochi and I like to craft things.

No explicit NSFW aimed towards my character, vague NSFW jokes are typically okay with me just nothing explicit, thank you.
I am 18, I’m saying this just so those who are uncomfortable interacting with someone who is older or younger than them are aware.
I tend to stay with the canon of the games over the anime but if something funny/fun happens in the anime I may reference it, such as events like the Pancake Race in Alola.
If I don’t interact with something it’s typically for 4 reasons: I have nothing to add, I feel like the interaction has come to a good conclusion, I’m not including what you’ve said in my own canon, or I’m trying to set up something for plot and responding would throw that off
I will try and tag everything to the best of my ability so if I miss anything let me know!
I do like writing dark stuff so be aware that this blog may at points touch on stuff like that, I will have a tag dedicated to it so you can mute the tag if you don’t want anything like deep angst on your feed.

Jaw, Bird and Drake for the Fossil ask game.
Jaw - What is your favorite local food? What about nonlocal food?
There's a really great place in the center of Jublife that makes authentic Hisuian food and has the best atmosphere. Everyone talks about their Potato Mochi, but I'm a pretty big fan of the Katsu Dishes.
I also find myself enjoying a lot of Alolan Dishes, they are simple but just packed with flavor!
Bird - What type of music do you listen to? What is your favorite song?
A lot of people laugh but Ska Punk is one of my favorite types of music. It's both energetic and makes a point. (Doesn't help I was a bit of an angsty teen for a time)
I also have been listening to this song a lot. Just kinda like the vibe
youtube
Drake - If you could turn into any Pokemon that is not mythical or legendary for a day, what would you turn into? Why?
I think it would be cool to be something with appendages we don't have like Wings or a Tail. Maybe a bug type?
Maybe Electross because it is so different and I can swim and float!

大家好! Pa, Didi (Little Bro) and I celebrated Mummy's birthday at a Japanese restaurant at Marina Bay Sands. The food was absolutely divine! For appetiser, I chose sashimi, which came with incredibly fresh maguro, hamachi and sake (salmon). We ordered an additional mixed tempura to share. For my main course, I chose seabass with chives and beansprouts topped with purple potato chips. This is 1 of the best seabass dishes I've ever tasted. We also ordered an additional seabass to share. Dessert for me was fresh fruit with mochi ice cream. Whilst the food was excellent, what was most important was bonding as a family.
youtube
I decided to give the ready to eat mini meal of tuna, carrots, green beans and rice amounting to 180kcal another go out of compassion for the many Palestinians in Gaza surviving on fewer than 250kcal a day. To try and make it to the next meal, I ate this for second breakfast since it was a WFH day. My stomach was growling by lunch break, but I was glad about completing this challenge. Palestinians have endured much hardship for about 9 months now and there's no end to this genocidal war in sight. I can only imagine the extent of their hunger pangs after finishing this challenge; my prayers go out to them. This mini meal is surprisingly tasty. I'll keep it in mind for future simple breakfasts or below 250kcal challenges.
We've had some scorching afternoons; during these times, I avoid meat as much as possible. Instead, I bought smoked salmon to enjoy with cold noodles and chilled blanched vegetables. This combo is actually pretty tasty; I use somen but soba and dao xiao mian (knife cut noodles) will also work. For blanched veggies, I usually like golden mushrooms, hei mu er (wood ear mushrooms), choy sum, Nappa cabbage and bak choy. On lazy days, drained canned corn, straw mushrooms and green beans will do. Besides smoked salmon, tau kwa (firm tofu) is also a good protein alternative. Some people love their summer BBQs and power to them. I like chilled or lighter meals to combat the searing heat.
youtube
On return to office days, chilled meals are hard to find during lunch. So I have cai fan salads when the weather is extremely warm. Tofu and eggs are my protein choices and vegetables are rotated to derive maximum nutrition. Celery and cauliflower 1 day, choy sum and Chinese spinach the next, these delicious fibre bombs are easy to incorporate into daily meals. As I celebrate over 1 year of not stepping into any fastfood joints, I must express gratitude to our hawkers for making veggies taste incredible at relatively affordable prices. These meals cost $4 each; good luck finding salads sold at cafes and restaurants at even close to this price!
youtube
Times are tough. Food prices remain higher than they were pre-covid. We have 2 idiotic wars on Biden's watch. Although Palestinians are suffering tremendously as a result of this genocidal war, their resilience and ability to find little joys in life are inspiring. I'll continue to pray for them and for peace. Stay strong Gaza, thank you for inspiring me. 下次见!

another mini kyushu road trip
At the end of November, my best friend Alyssa came all the way from Michigan to visit me in Japan and we had another small Kyushu road trip together over about 5 days. Alyssa and I first met on our study abroad in Hikone in 2018, so she is also very interested in and knowledgeable of Japan. It was really fun getting to show her around my home in Japan, since like me she had not seen much of it during her previous stays in Japan.
On the first day, I brought her to Mt. Unzen to see the ropeway and the foot onsen in Obama, both of which I covered in this post previously. Unfortunately this day was incredibly cloudy, so it was sad and damp at the top of the mountain, and you couldn't really see anything. But it did give an interesting and mystical atmosphere.
At a small souvenir shop near the parking lot, we looked around at some souvenirs and I saw on a sign that they were selling zenzai, a warm and comforting treat in the colder months, so I decided to get some. Zenzai is like a sweet and hot red bean soup, often with mochi in it. It's delicious, and was a perfect respite from the damp cold of the mountain.
After exploring the charms of Unzen and the Shimabara peninsula, we took my car across to Kumamoto on the ferry, where we stayed overnight in a hotel.
The next morning, we visited Suizenji Park in Kumamoto city. This is a tsukiyama garden, meaning it was created by making artificial hills to emulate mountain imagery in the garden. By making raised hills and ponds, miniature models of full landscapes resembling mountains and lakes are created. According to Suizenji's Wikipedia page, the largest hill in Suizenji was created to be a representation of Mt. Fuji. The garden was created by Lord Hosokawa Tadatoshi in 1636 as a tea retreat, because the park is located on a spring with fresh and pure water that he believed was perfect for making tea.
As we walked through the garden, we enjoyed seeing a shrine, koi ponds, and the Japanese maple trees, an iconic symbol of fall in Japan. It was very beautiful and unique, and I could see why it attracts many visitors in Kumamoto.
On our way out of the park, we stopped at a food stand on a small shopping street selling ikinari dango, a famous Kumamoto dessert. It's made by encasing red bean paste and steamed sweet potato in dough. The word ikinari means "sudden" in Japanese, and this food became popularized because it was quick and easy to make when guests showed up at your house unexpectedly and you needed to prepare something for them on short notice. Now it's a beloved snack in Kumamoto, which is known for having particularly tasty sweet potatoes. I love sweet adzuki beans and Japanese sweet potatoes, so I thought it was very delicious!
After this, Alyssa and I headed north to see Mt. Aso, the largest active volcano in Japan. I've visited it several times before and wrote about it on this blog, but this was the first time that I was able to visit the actual caldera, because it's often closed due to volcanic activity. At the top, you can look down into the huge caldera and see the smoke pouring out, and there's a large area where you can walk around the whole thing. It was very big, and it's hard to really get a sense of the size from pictures. It was also very cold up there. Alyssa cracked me up because she said, "if it's a volcano, then why is it so cold??" But if the volcano were emanating enough heat to warm us up, we probably wouldn't want to be up there anyway, haha.
After this, we drove back down the mountain on the other side on our way to Oita prefecture, which I visited back in the summer of 2022 in this post. Alyssa had booked us a room in a ryokan, a traditional Japanese inn, complete with hot springs access and a full breakfast. The ryokan was in the middle of nowhere, with not even a convenience store for an hour in either direction. We weren't expecting that level of seclusion, but it was very peaceful after spending the previous day in the bustle of Kumamoto city.
The ryokan gave us some comfy pajamas to wear, so we donned them and had a quiet restful night in the hotel. We hadn't anticipated the lack of stores or restaurants--or anything really--so we ended up eating cup noodles in our room after having a long relaxing soak in the hot spring bath.
The next morning, we were served an extravagant breakfast, which is one of the many charms of a ryokan stay. The breakfast was prepared for us in a private tatami room and consisted of traditional foods like rice, miso soup, fish, pickled vegetables, fruit, fermented soybeans, and what seemed like maybe sukiyaki boiling on a small plate in front of us. We also enjoyed hot green tea with our meal. It was delicious, and quite a hefty portion of food. I felt truly spoiled, and we ate all of it happily (except the fermented soybeans, which we both left in the package. It seriously smells like dirty socks.) After breakfast, we had another morning dip in the hot springs bath to refresh ourselves for the day and headed out.
We drove another hour or two into Beppu, home of the Beppu Hells, which are the colorful and unique thermal baths which I talked about in my previous Oita post. At that time, I only got to see the Sea Hell and Blood Hell, but this time Alyssa and I got to visit all seven of the Oita Hells!
First we went to Umi Jigoku, Sea Hell, where the water was a startling bright blue color that boiled at 98 degrees Celsius (208 Fahrenheit). They boil eggs in a basket which is lowered into the water, which you can buy as a tasty snack in the souvenir shop.
Next, we went to the Oniishibozu Jigoku, meaning the Hell of a Monk's Head. This Hell is named this because of its circular grey bubbles, which look like the bald head of a monk. It looked really cool and made a relaxing noise, but the smell was...interesting.
After this, we stopped at a souvenir shop and got kabosu ice cream. Kabosu is a kind of lime-like citrus fruit that's a famous product of Oita prefecture. The ice cream had a nice mild fruity and refreshing flavor.
Next we visited Shiraike Jigoku, White Pond Hell, and Kamado Jigoku, Cooking Pot Hell. I didn't get any pictures of White Pond Hell, but it was similar to Sea Hell, with a milky light blue color. At Cooking Pot Hell, there were some quirky touristy things. There was a big statue of a demon over a cooking pot to enforce the hellish imagery.
They also had places where you could drink the hot spring water and inhale the steam to soothe your throat. I drank some of the water, and though it was safe to drink, it didn't taste that good. The steam did feel nice though.
After this we went to Oniyama Jigoku, Demon Mountain Hell, but again I didn't take any pictures, so I'll post an image I googled. This hell was really interesting because it was filled with crocodiles. Apparently the thermal temperatures are very good for breeding crocodiles year-round, so it became Japan's top spot for crocodile breeding. Not sure what they need crocodiles for, but it was cool to see them. According to this article posted in 2018, there were about 70 crocodiles in this hell. The crocodiles were incredibly still while we walked around to observe them, which was a little terrifying. I heard that they really spring into action during feeding time, but unfortunately we weren't able to witness it firsthand. Here's a picture I found online though!
From there we drove a bit further to the last two hells, the Chinoike Jigoku, Blood Pond Hell, and the Tatsumaki Jikgoku, Tornado Hell. The Blood Pond Hell is a huge red-colored spring which looks almost like blood. You can find pictures of it in my previous Beppu post.
The Tornado Hell is not a hot spring like the other hells, but a natural geyser. It erupts about every 30-40 minutes and the eruption lasts for six to ten minutes, which is shorter than most natural geysers according to this article. If uninhibited, the geyser could reach up to 30 meters high, but a block of concrete was placed above it to make the blast shorter to protect from injury and other damages it could cause. But the blast was still very powerful and enjoyable to watch.
With that, we finished seeing all of the seven hells on Beppu's walking tour. We next headed to a restaurant for lunch where we ordered toriten, a famous dish of Oita in which chicken is fried tempura-style. It's different from regular fried chicken because the batter is much lighter and less oily. It was really tasty!
After our satisfying meal in Oita, we got back into my car and headed north to the final stop of our mini Kyushu road trip, Fukuoka. Of course, I've been to Fukuoka many times now and have written a lot about it, but I'll share a few new experiences I had.
One of Fukuoka's unique charms are its yatai, street stalls. Each night, stalls selling ramen and other dishes set up a mini outdoor shop consisting of a small kitchen, counter, and stools. The heat from cooking the food and the help of outer curtains keeps the inside warm and provides a cozy and intimate atmosphere between the customers and staff. I had always heard about the yatai of Fukuoka, but with Alyssa I finally visited one for the first time. We drank beer and of course ordered Fukuoka's famous dish, tonkotsu ramen, made from a broth of stewed pork bones. The cook seemed a bit stressed at first when we sat down and seemed to almost turn us away until we assured him that we could understand Japanese. He chatted with us a bit, and it was really nice to build personal rapport with the person cooking our food.
At some point, some other people entered the stall and just ordered drinks and one appetizer, and I heard the cook ask them to order more food or they would have to make space for someone else. Since the yatai are so small and can sit so few people, it's encouraged for visitors to not loiter for too long and move quickly in and out once they've finished their food. I think this was the reason that the cook was hesitant about letting us sit down, because we're foreigners and may not understand this, and if we didn't understand Japanese, it would be difficult to communicate this. But luckily we convinced him of our competency and were able to enjoy the atmosphere of the food stall.
After finishing our delicious meal, we headed back to our hotel for the night for some sleep.
The next day was the finale of our small trip, since Alyssa had to hop on the bullet train and head to Tokyo for more solo adventures. Before I dropped her at the station, we visited Canal City, a famous mall in Fukuoka (which I showed in my first Fukuoka blog post.) We did some shopping and looking around, then went to a Kirby-themed cafe for lunch. Themed cafes are really popular in Japan and sometimes temporary ones pop up for various characters and pop culture. For example, I've been to the Pokemon cafe and Moomin cafe. I've seen cafes for various anime and other characters too.
The Kirby Cafe is a permanent cafe in Canal City, including a small gift shop with Kirby-themed goods at the front. Themed cafes are usually decorated to immerse yourself in the world of the cafe's theme, so the Kirby Cafe had various wall decorations of things from the video game series. And they always have themed foods, drinks, and desserts, which are beautifully presented. Alyssa ordered curry and I ordered some potato balls, which were plated to make it look like Kirby was sucking them into his mouth. It was really cute and delicious too!
With that, I said goodbye to Alyssa and dropped her off at Hakata station so that she could continue her adventures in Tokyo. I was so grateful to see her again after more than a year apart, and I really missed our BFF time. We ended up both catching a cold on this trip and it was a bit rough-going, but we still had a lot of fun together and got to catch up on our lives too. I'm glad to add more fun memories with my BFF to my memory bank, and I'm excited to see her again when I return home this summer :)
Thanks as always for reading, and please remember to cherish and appreciate your friends <3

this is the kin call anon from last week! i am a little shy, but i'm happy to talk like this. thank you for your response last time. i will share some of my favorite recipes with you- i know that links don't work in anonymous asks, so i hope this workaround uh, works lol. bbcgoodfood (dot) com (slash) recipes (slash) roast-new-potatoes-radishes - always making this in summer. it's so, so good. simplyhomecooked (dot) com (slash) easy-hanami-dango-recipe - did you know that dango is like weirdly easy to make at home? i didn't until recently. you can make all different kinds with this recipe too. i also like making mochi, which is kind of similar. justonecookbook (dot) com (slash) oyakodon - i don't eat meat very often personally but this dish is so nice. i haven't been able to find any mitsuba where i live though. i really want to try it... i love cooking and baking haha. you should share some of your favorite recipes too, if you want to. i hope you're having a good week.
WAAA you must be such a talented cook! i definitely want to share these with my friend who cooks for us. I think hed love to help make the oyakodon. ive never eaten a radish before, gotta try that one too. mitsuba sounds very intriguing though, i can imagine a lot of things itd be good on! i wonder if i could grow some in my garden this year....
my very favorite food in the whole wide world is tiramisu. i have never used the same recipe twice since i only make it a couple times a year. but i find its a very difficult to ruin dessert. extremely rich but not overly sugary since its predominant flavors are smooth, cold cream, espresso and rum. which i also love, thats gotta be some of the best flavors something could be.
i moved into a new house last fall and im looking forward to the growing season. im planning on testing the soil ph, building a rain collection barrel stand (so that i can use it for watering the garden), and putting some big planters in my 3 seasons room. long term i want to get some chickens as well; my area is suburban and the back of our lot has a huge thicket so i think i could get away with building a coop. legally you can keep 3 hens without a permit! i want to hand raise them.
i have been doing more physical therapy and beginners yoga! and still trying to get a job. ive been pretty morose but starting to climb out of the well yknow. not a bad week at all. :-) sorry it took so long for me to write a response, i wanted to type it on my desktop instead of my tiny phone keyboard. Ce verimm' aròppo

we'll see how today goes, i'm having red meat that has a low fat percentage so hopefully it goes well.
food log below!!
breakfast:
•gf french toast (made with udi hot dog buns because that's my life now lol), 1 boiled egg, 1 red bean mochi with sesame seeds, 8oz cranberry/cherry juice
lunch:
•4oz stir-fried tofu + sugared soy sauce, 1c stir-fried green beans, 1tbsp korean chives, 2/3c konjac noodles, 8oz cranberry/cherry juice
dinner:
•4oz ground beef, 1c mashed potatoes + 1/2tbsp korean chives, 1/2c green beans
snacks:
•apple konjac jelly
•1/2 japanese yam (the purple ones)
korean chives are a variant of garlic chives and i stomach this variant the best, so i was delighted to find the mini ones in the market when i visited two days ago. they're a very safe seasoning for me :>
mostly today is testing 2 things: 1) whether i can handle the cranberry juice in a no added sugars form... i had a glass yesterday and was fine so i figured i'd try it again to see!! / and 2) if lower fat percentage makes red meat mors tolerable to me (understanding ofc that ground beef tends to do me in regardless, but still...)
hopefully tonight is peaceful for me lol

Food Coma Alert: My Mouth-Watering Journey Through Japan Will Leave You Hungry for More!
Are you there, lard? It's me, Chlever.
Many things have transpired since my last post here. Marriages were marriaged. Pandemics were paninied. Clevers were reunited for a few glorious months in the bay area. And most recently, honeymoons were mooned in Japan, place of delicious foodstuffs, amusing onomatopoeia, and dear friends, best enjoyed together.
Come along with me and relish in the choicest of meal memories, in no particular order:
Konbini onigiri If heaven exists, I am 99% certain it is a Japanese convenience store. Whether it be cold beer, hot mugicha, grape gummies, crunchy savory snackies, fluffy baked goods, ice cream novelties, or a steaming bowl of oden (more on this later), you can find it all at the konbini. But the crown jewel of the konbini has to be the plentiful onigiri rice balls; so good that Brian often wondered aloud if we should "just grab a couple extra for the road", as if there weren't konbini and thus more onigiri on every corner. I always thought my favorite was the tuna mayo, but the salt flake salmon wrestled its way to top-tier status this trip. 10/10, would howmf again.
Ekiben No doubt you have heard of the incredible train system in Japan, and the bullet train shinkansen that puts American public transportation to shame. It is one of the greatest joys of traveling in Japan, and as an experience, is elevated greatly by the tasty tradition of the ekiben, or train bento. These packaged delicacies can be found at any shinkansen station, displayed such that you can inspect their contents (sushi! shumai! gyukatsu! potato salad! kabocha! pickles galore!) and select whichever combination suits your fancy. Traveling with a fellow gourmand allows for more sampling, and perhaps selection of a third ekiben to share...which is precisely what we did. These ekiben were purchased at Ueno station in Tokyo to be enjoyed on the train trip to Kusatsu Onsen, in Gunma. 10/10 get in my mouth.
Things on sticks What is it about skewering morsels that makes them so dang delicious!!! Of course there's yakitori and kushiyaki abundant at any izakaya: skewers of chicken and beef (and cartilage, livers, hearts, etc) — all tenderly roasted over a binchotan charcoal grill and infused with salty smoky savoriness. Or the classic mitarashi-dango grilled mochi dipped in a sweet soy goo. But a first for me this trip were mochiyaki senbei, which we nibbled along the streets of Kusatsu Onsen. These skewered rice crackers were crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside, both sweet and savory, containing multitudes. Things on sticks categorically I'd give a 9/10, only because we were weenies about eating a lot of cartilage.
Tenpura + Zarusoba As fans of CP will know, I have been to Japan twice before in my life, and that first trip was back in the era of mapquest and carrier pigeons. But my memory for delicious food is unfailing, so when we planned to visit Arashiyama — of bamboo forest fame — memories of slurping soba overlooking the hozugawa river came wafting from my past. Did I remember the restaurant's name? Certainly not. But through retracing steps on google maps street view, and then creeping on restaurant photos, I managed to hone in on Arashiyama Yoshimura, the exact spot where a young chlev had noshed those many years ago. So obviously we had to go back with friends Cassie and Miki in tow, and as luck would have it we sat in the same exact spot and ordered the same exact lunch set: mixed tenpura with zarusoba (cold dipping soba), with a little bowl of rice, pickles, and chirimen on the side. It was a beautiful day, and as the sunlight sparkled off the river and shone through the delicately translucent tenpura, I marveled at just how good life is. 100/10, go out of your way to eat this meal.
Kaitenzushi Did you know that conveyor belt sushi is not simply fun but it is also delicious?! Whether at a more local spot where the sushiyasan sits at the center of a sushi merry-go-round, or at a high-tech chain (like sushiro or kurasushi) where you order via tablet and your freshly prepared bites are shot directly to your table by sushi bullet train, kaitenzushi is both dinner and a show. Brian and I especially loved our meal at sushiro, where they tally up your final bill by counting the number of plates you end up with. 200/10 because that’s how many plates we ate.
Japanese breakfast Topping Brian's list of excited-to-eats, We enjoyed washoku asagohan a few times over the course of our trip. There is something just so comforting about a hot bowl of rice, pickles, and a perfectly grilled piece of fish first thing. Standout of all breakfasts was the buffet we enjoyed at our onsen hotel in Kyoto, Renka no yu onyado, which included all the above and more; entirely too much food for 8am, but dammit if we weren't going to sample as much as we could reasonably fit into our happy bellies! 10/10 duh!!!
I fear this post is getting too long so I will try and restrain myself.
Oden Some may say stinky? Plain? The food of the masses? I say delicious! Comforting! A clear stew with simmered daikon, tofu, shirataki, konyaku, carrots that I used to get at 7-11 and eat for lunch as a college student. Good friend Yoko treated us to the real deal at a wonderful obanzai restaurant in Kyoto called Shunsai Imari; kyoto home-cookin’ at it’s finest, 9.99/10 because there was no hot n spicy mustard to go with it.
501 Horai Butaman Fluffy!!! Filled with savory moist porky bits!! Served with a tiny lil packet of firey mustard!! These buns are bliss. You know it’s 10/10.
Ichigo daifuku Take the best dessert, manju mochi with anko red bean paste, and somehow make it even better by wedging a single perfect strawberry in there too. 8/10 because I managed to drop part of the strawberry in mine.
Okonomiyaki Perhaps the food I was most excited for Brian to experience, as we make "okonomiyaki" frequently at home in California. Where Dalby-style okonomiyaki are 95% veggies held together by the barest whisper of batter, Japanese okonomiyaki are dense savory pancakes stuffed with veg, meat, and noodles, with an egg cracked on top, mayo drizzle, and dancing flakes of katsuobushi. Cue homer simpson drool auughraahhhghhhghhhh. Brian says “7/10, could use more cabbage”
Tonkatsu A favorite from college days at Kansai Gaidai U, the chain Katsukura did not disappoint — slanging hot ‘n’ crispity cutlets of pork atop a mound of thinly shaved cabbage, and hot barley rice on the side. They give you as much cabbage as you want! Go wild! We certainly did! 10/10.
Matcha parfait We could not in good conscience leave without enjoying a novelty dessert, and the Rirakkuma cafe in Arashiyama did not disappoint. How delightful when things are both adorable AND delicious?! This matcha parfait had it all — alternating layers of anko bean paste, ice cream, and flaky cereal, all topped with an emoji-perfect dango 🍡 and pillowy marshmallow bear. 8/10 because that large green object was a tasteless rusk, thus a missed opportunity.
I'm sure we did other things on our trip besides eat, but what I will remember most fondly are the memories made around the table. The generosity, the laughs we shared over plates of tsukune-cheese, and tipsy debates on the many onomatopoeia for "crunchy" — from the カリカリ karikari crackle of a fried fish or chicken skin, to the パリパリ paripari crunch of a lacy gyoza, to the コリコリ korikori snap of a pickled cuke, or the サクサク sakusaku crispness of tenpura*. I crunched them all, dear reader. And I hope to crunch them again some day soon.
(*Despite the sheer volume of onomatopoeia, I recommend using them in conversation with reckless abandon, as mistakes will amuse and delight your drinking buddies.)

the recipe is this mochi ingredients
Yield 15 servings.
300 gm of mochigome rice
300 ml of water
Cornstarch to wrap the dumplings
For colorful mochi use food coloring (optional)
The fear can be anything you want
How to Make Mochi with a Stand Mixer - 3 Steps
Cook rice in a rice cooker (or whatever method you use)
"Knead" and "Beat" cooked rice with a hand mixer
Divide and make mochi balls
Step 1: Cook the rice
Mochi in Rice Cooker: You don't need to soak rice in water before cooking. Just rinse and cook the rice the same way you cook regular steamed rice.
Mochi na Steaming: Traditionally, rice is steamed because it is considered the best way. You rinse the washed rice in water overnight, put the rice to
Mochi in the Pot on the stove: wash the rice, soak it for 10 minutes and put the rice and water in the pot. Start over high heat, and when it boils, stir in the rice all at once and put the lid on. Lower the heat to the lowest heat and cook for 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cook for 10-15 minutes.
Step 2: “Knead” and “Beat” using a mixer or blender
In this step, you will need a few things:
a mixer
A stopwatch (your smartphone works)
Ready-to-use hot water
Silicone spatula (a flexible silicone spatula is easy to scrape the mochi in the mixer)
A 2-cup measuring cup for soaking the spatula
This mixing process involves 2 steps:
“Knead” the dough for 3 minutes - repeat 4 times [12 minutes total]
"Beat" with a flat mixer for 30 seconds - repeat 4 times [2 minutes total]
Step 3: Shaping the Mochi Balls
Here's what you'll do:
Coat the mochi with potato starch (or corn starch).
Pull one corner and fold the edges under to create a small mound. Keep pulling and folding until thick enough.
Make a "C" with your index finger and left thumb and the powder well dusted, then place your "C" fingers on top of the thick corner.
With your right hand, fold and squeeze the mochi into the left "C" fingers, underneath and from the side, to form a ball.
Once you have a full size ball shape, slightly larger than a golf ball, squeeze the mochi with your left "C" fingers. Use your right hand to twist.
When pinching, don't pull on the mochi because the sticky surface will show and your hands will get sticky. Instead, use a mochi-slicing motion with two "C" fingers and your right hand. Make sure your hands are dry and well dusted with potato starch.
Quickly rotate the mochi with your dusty hand to cover the new sticky surface.
Oh thank you^^

some general s62 (+kakucho) headcanons for the soul
➼ Outside of gang matters, Ran is actually really nice to the average person! Most of all, he’s a great listener. He’s that person who holds eye contact, nods along, reacts accordingly to whatever you’re telling him, and always knows what to say. You always feel that he gets you. The things you say affect him. He cares. Since he’s a gang member and people tend to be wary of him, he adjusts his way of speaking and body language to make them feel more comfortable with him.
➼ After discovering his heritage, Izana sought the Filipino community in Tokyo. A group of Filipino moms and titas found him and they would dote on him whenever he would visit. They would feed him, call him handsome, teach him Tagalog, and tell him all about the Philippines. They’ve tried helping him find his mother, but he didn’t really have enough information on her. They wanted to adopt him but Izana was already getting into crime and gang business at the time. He turned down the offer and never returned. They still wonder where he went.
➼ Shion reacts to women the same way as Hakkai. Now, this guy talks big. He brags about getting all these girls to the others (they just don’t believe a word of it). In reality, he’s hopeless. All the stories are exaggerated or just straight-up fake. Sure, he’s got the looks and the bad boy image and some people like that, but he’s about as charming as an unwashed potato. They just end up thinking he’s weird or creepy (and let’s be real, being a delinquent further lowers his chances.) Usually, he ends up saying something embarrassing. Sometimes, he just freezes. So yes, basically, the way Shion Madarame fares in flghting is the same way he fares in the flirting game.
➼ Mochi’s weak for cute things. He might be this big brutish villain in the manga, but please also think of Mochi being the most gentle with kittens, puppies, and babies. Out of S62, he might just be the best with kids. Despite being a big scary delinquent, Moms in his neighborhood would have no problems entrusting their kids to Mochi. He makes them laugh, buys them lollipops, and carries them on his shoulders. Very big bro/dad material. He wouldn’t really tell anyone, but he has entertained the idea of having his own family someday. But with the life he leads, he understands–no, knows that he might not have it at all.
➼ Rindo went through this phase of only consuming the most obscure, unheard of media he could possibly find. (”I’m not like other delinquents”) It was something he took pride in. At age 14/15, he was at that phase in life where he wanted to reject anything mainstream. Probably looked down on people for not having heard of this one arthouse indie film he brought up. He never shared his interests with others either. Tried so hard not to like anything his brother liked as well (for a time, because their tastes grew to be pretty similar). He’s long grown out of it, but Ran would sometimes bring it up to make Rindo cringe.
➼ The “dad” of the gang is definitely Mucho. He’s always the one to remind others not to get too reckless or show off too much. “Less flashy displays, more fighting” (looking at you, Haitani brothers). He looks after everyone’s health too, telling them to eat healthy, drink water, and get enough sleep like a mother would. When the others are dealing with personal struggles, they can also count on him for sound advice. [S62 going to Mucho for advice, arranged from most to least frequent: Kakucho, Mochi, Shion, Ran, Rindou, Izana.] Kakucho and Mochi would ask for advice. Shion would never admit that he needs help but Mucho would know he needs it. Ran and Rindou would go to each other first, but would sometimes go to Mucho too. Izana only ever asked once.
➼ Kakucho is a reader. He used to read whatever he could get his hands on back at the orphanage—usually children’s books and newspapers. As he got older, he found a hobby in collecting secondhand books. He prefers realism over fantasy, though he has a soft spot for fantasy stories with kingdoms, knights and kings. Overall, he’s not very picky about what he reads. A book would have to be outrageously bad for him to drop it. Everyone who knows him well enough is aware of this interest, but something he won’t tell others about is his love for poetry. So you know, just a secret between us—I think he writes some of his own in his free time.

Step siblings spending time with you day! (ft: kazuha, kamisato siblings, ragnvindr brothers. <bonus character: xiao, scaramouche>)
Kazuha
Free man indeed. I feel like everyday is spending time together with siblings when it comes to him.
U can't tell me he hands you a bug u didn't like to scare you, then he'll share a fact about them to make it less scary, though you still fear them u will try to overcome ur fear by coming closer to the bug while kazuha hiding behind a tree smiling.
Let you go on a adventure on a ship with beidou if u behave (you behave all the time and you often see beidou.)
Carry you randomly just to hear you whine about you being embarrassed to be piggy back by their older brother.
He won't ever use "step siblings" on you when he's introducing you to his friend.
"this is my siblings___" :D
"you two don't even look alike--"
"they're my siblings." :)
"whoa okay okay, they're ur siblings I guess."
Kamisato ayaka and ayato
"don't steal their boba ayato! We buyed you 2.."
You can't tell me (again) that he doesn't bully you to see you cry for fun. (typical brother)
Ayato probably dressed you up in a weird combo clothes and call it a unique style.
"thoma, great time. Take a good look at the clothes combo I did to __"
"o-oh waka, it looks amazing."
"im gonna be the greatest model in the future!!"
"oh yes you will"
Thoma made a doll that looks like you, ayato and ayaka and now it's your toys.
"im sorry ___ I'm not really the best at making dolls.." (hes lying)
"mine now." yes and now it belongs to you. Not even ur siblings can touch them.
Though they're so busy dealing with the clan, they would do anything to spend time with their little siblings.
Kaeya & diluc
Kaeya? Bully? Absolutely but yk he also pampered you. He likes to bite that mochi cheek of yours.
"what's for dinner?" diluc said confused since it's kaeya who wana cook dinner.
"today is a special menu. I introduce you... ____ chicken roast!"
(you dressed up like a chicken with carrot and a potato on ur hands)
"first of all, where did u get that costum- nvm don't ANSWER it. Second.. I thought u were gonna be serious about the dinner stuff. I even send adelinde home early today."
"oh..."
"oh oh! Maybe diluc can cook!!" you suggest.
"only this time."
Diluc? No he won't let you enter the tavern at all. After all you are still underage. "aww... Why does floaty cute paimon get to get inside while I can't ?!"
"because I trust her friend, traveler that she won't be drinking. Even paimon herself said she don't drink and only drink apple juice or sweet drink."
"so you don't trust me..?" oh god the guilt tripping...
"i- uh.... Ugh fine. You better behave or ill send jean to look after you." you giggled and nodded. Holding ur big brother hand to get inside made him smile.
If diluc is not available then kaeya is. If both of them are not available you would be sitting in a living room with adelinde comforting you. While they're doing their own work, they can't help but feel uneasy. Like something is missing. And that's where it hit them. It's siblings spend time together day.
Diluc was fast to get home since he can rely on his worker to cover his job, meanwhile kaeya would speed up and finish his work asap and went back home. There he will see diluc terribly comforting you while he took a deep breath and ready to spend a day with both of you.
Bonus!
Xiao
Siblings spend time together day? Absurd. Why would an adeptus let go of his work just to spend time together with you?
"brother.. where are we going?" you ask curious. "somewhere." - -
No no that won't work. They might be traumatised if they saw me kill some lame hilichurls. So what did he do? Put blindfold on you.
No!!! Ugh I am not having any idea. Why does this day even exist I can just send them to hu tao but no, hu tao will do a massive chaos if ____ is with her.
Ah. "lets play a game. Whoever got to Mr zhongli first can get free ice cream." i can't believe I said this but who am I kidding it's a child I'm taking care of. "okay! I'm gonna beat you!!"
"okay, ready? 3..2-" there you go with ur little leg running towards Mr zhongli. "hey I didn't even count to 3 yet-" but. I couldn't say that out loud, seeing them running to Mr zhongli kinda make me relaxed a bit. All these years I've been slaying demons and not once I've ever thought about smiling on a mortal doing silly thing just for an ice cream.
Just as he was about to walk towards you, you happen to trip on some random rock (zhongli go get ur rock). Not thinking at all he dashed towards you grabbing you throwing you up in the sky before catching you.
Never thought an adeptus could do something like that..
"never. Never again. Be careful ____! You could've gotten hurt if me or Mr zhongli isn't here. It's not like I'd leave you alone but still."
"hehe again brother again!" what. "what no! That's dangerous."
After alot of begging he throw u up in the sky with a permission of Mr zhongli. You could see the beautiful view from up there. Your eye shine and you were never been happier.
None of you want this to end. <3
Scaramouche
Siblings spending time together day? Who is he kidding. He is NOT doing that.
"brother you look funny with a mask and a hat! Here let me help you." you said as you take his hat and put it on ur head. "that's just an excuse to take my hat huh."
"can we go to that dango shop? I've seen people eat it and I wana try it!" you take his hand and ran towards the shop. "and who's gonna pay for it huh brat?" both of you know its just his ego personality. He doesn't mean that word. "you of course!" you smiled. That once a smile that made his own mother disowned him. Ridiculous.
"hey are you okay? Did he do anything bad to you?" a random guy ask you. "I'm okay??" you are so damn confused but your brother scaramouche seem to get that alot. Separate. That's what he's trying to do.. Dirty little shit.
"hey ____ take this mora and buy me and you a balloon." he said as you nodded. Scaramouche and him watch you skip a step to the guy who sell balloon.
"care to explain on why would you say that to them?" demanding him to speak but that guy seem not to get a hint that he's in fact a harbingers. Eleven fatui harbingers to be put? How dare he talk back to scaramouche. He even dare to look down on him.
"you treat them like a toy. Nobody treat a kid like that! You better walk away before I call a soldier to make you go away from that innocent child."
.....
"you are ruining them."
Snap. That's it. He waste no time and take his hand to a place with least people. "listen here. I didnt know you were so bold to talk to a in fact a harbingers with this manner. And I didn't even know you had the nerve to look down on me as if I was a pathetic shit to you. They're my siblings. If you or ur man land a hand on them you won't be seeing sun nor star."
Scaramouche face expression soon turn satisfied when he piss himself like a 8 year old kid would after getting spanked by their mother.
He came back and see you sitting on a bench with a sad face. "what's the long face huh.."
"you were gone without me! I don't wana be apart from you not even a second!!" you huffed. He was mute for a second before he smirk. "silly brat, I would never go anywhere without you. Just now someone want to talk to me which I end up yelling at them for ruining the moment I am having with my little siblings."
"can you imagine? 'sir, we need you' and I don't. I dont need them and they better be begging more if they rlly want me to come but no they gave up so soon." (I'm targeting you scaraboobs nations /hj)
You smile turn into laugher. "you're the best brother I could ever ask for!" you hugged him as he took ur hat off before hugging you back. "i know."
Hello! It seem that you have reach the end of this headcanon. I do hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoy writing this. I am opening a request where u could request me some platonic hc! I accept every character, so you wouldn't have to worry about ur fav character not being there.
Well since you also read that, how about a follow? No pressure of course. Hehe <3 have an amazing day/night on wherever you are, a reminder that you are incredibly awesome and I hope you will be happy until the end.
