"What's the plan, folks?" Sybil's words are so slurred it takes Kieran a few moments to understand what she said.  He checks his watch, ignoring the drunken yells and laughs of passing strangers on the street. 3am.  They were at the club for 3 and a half hours?  Albany spins to Peyton, her golden hair whipping across her face in an arc of drunken grace, her eyes shining with intoxication, "I'm sorry for getting us kicked out of the club."  Peyton winks at her, grabbing her hand. Her blue eyes twinkle with something that seems a lot like vodka, "All goods, queen. We can go to another club."  Albany shakes her head before she can even blink, "I'm sorry, P, but I'm taking my boyfriend home and I'm fornicating with him."  The words seem to slip out accidentally.  Finn's eyes widen with both surprise and pleasure. Something very close to lust settles into his gaze as he meets his girlfriend's eyes. She smiles slowly at him, as if forgetting anyone is with her. As if he is the entire world.  He is her entire world.  Finn clears his throat, "I'm down."  Albany's hand somehow finds his, "Good."  Kieran fights his mock gag and flicks his eyes to Mason, ready to secretly tease the couple.  But Mason's eyes are only on Cecily.  ----------------------------------------------- "Go," Sybil's firm voice knocks Peyton's thoughts all over the world, and she blinks at her friend, startled.  "What?"  Sybil's eyes remain on the road they walk, concentrating on successfully walking straight in her heels. If she begins to teeter, Kieran won't let her stay out and have fun. He announced the rule after Albany and Finn left, and she has refused to speak to him since.  Peyton is glad Kieran made the rule. Sybil is clumsy when she's sober. A drunken Sybil creates a small mess of worry within Peyton. Her best friend sure knows how to get wasted.  "Go," Sybil repeats, the usual drunken slur of her words gone as authority creeps in.  Mason, Cecily and Kieran walk a long way ahead of them, nothing but silhouettes in the golden streetlights. The silence of the night is something very close to beautiful, and Peyton looks up the stars for a moment, quietly thanking them for shining so bright on her birthday.  Wow, she loves the world. She loves everyone. Absolutely everyone in this world. What a great life.  Peyton is significantly intoxicated.  "Go where?" She asks quietly, her thoughts still a mess.  "Go to him."  For some strange reason, her heart stops beating. Sybil hears it and matches it's pace. She suddenly grabs Peyton's hand and forces her body to still, staring deeply into her gaze with dark eyes. Peyton knows for a fact her best friend is drunk, but her eyes shine so clearly she can swear Sybil is sober.  "Go see Cliff," she demands, "You miss him. I know you miss him. And it's your birthday. You deserve to see your boy."  "He's not my boy," A  forgotten whisper.  Sybil snorts, "You and I both know he belongs wholly to you, Pip," She steps closer, until they share the same breath. Peyton can feel her best friend's burning body as she stares into her eyes. "And you need him," She whispers. Something within Peyton whimpers. "So, go see him." ----------------------------------------------- "Your dress is nice," Mason stutters, as if his words are china plates falling off a shelf. Crash, crash, crash.  Cecily blinks up at him as a slow smile spreads across her lips.  Somehow his hair still shines in the darkness.  "Thank you."  ------------------------------------------------------- Finn's body presses against hers as he shoves her against the wall. She flicks off her heels without a second thought and hooks her legs around his waist, their bodies flush against each other.  A moan escapes his lips.  Her entire body rips to life.  She almost dies as he trails kisses along her neck, walking her to her bed, his hands hot on her hips. His hands seem to have a mind of their own as they explore her burning body, and she cannot help but whisper his name as he settles her down, resting upon her. She feels everything in his body and her eyes flutter closed. His kisses are feather like and teasing as he blesses them upon her collarbone, slowly unzipping her dress. He slips her out of her clothes as fast as she slips him out of his, and for a moment there is nothing but silence as they stare at each other, two hearts and souls and bodies in love.  God dammit, he is so beautiful it hurts.  He crashes into Albany as he kisses her, and a small giggle escapes her mouth as she falls into him. He smiles into her lips before flipping her over to rest upon him. She pulls away for a moment to kiss her way down his body, fighting her grin as he chokes out her name, slowly falling apart. His hands dance along her skin and spark flames as they pass. Her mouth crashes back into his as they slip the rest of their clothes off.  The rest of the night is a song of cries and whispered names and loving bodies.  After the entire world falls apart, her body finds his again.  "I love you, Albany Groverely, " he whispers into her hair.  She smiles into the darkness. ----------------------------------------- "I broke up with Miles," Sybil's words escape her mouth in a whisper as she speaks to the stars.  Kieran chokes.  "You what?! When?!"  She is silent for a long time. The grass feels cool against her skin, and she lets the wetness sink into her clothes. She should be annoyed. She is not. The ice is welcomed.  "A few days ago."  "And you didn't tell me?"  Sybil does not deign responding. She listens to the swings creak nearby and smiles softly as Cecily's proud laugh dances through the night air. Mason's grinning voice follows soon after as he fights to swing higher than her. Her best friend giggles, and Sybil's eyes flutter closed in serenity.  Cecily has not giggled like that for more than a month.  A realisation hits Sybil. Cecily was with Hutch a month ago, but she never laughed like that. She truly wasn't happy at the end. She was truly breaking apart. How had Sybil not realised? How could she have been so selfish?  "How are you feeling?" Kieran's voice this time is soft, and Sybil opens her eyes to meet his. He stares back at her from his spot on the grass, watching her carefully. His eyes look awfully nice tonight.  "I am...." Sybil thinks for a moment before the words come, "Completely fine, actually."  Kieran's hand finds hers and squeezes.  ----------------------------------------- Peyton's knocks echo down the hallway and she winces. She should not have knocked that loud at nearly 4am.  The door doesn't open.  Screw it. Peyton pounds on the apartment door, her heart racing. This was a bad idea. This was a bad idea. Why did she let Sybil convince her to do this?  The door flies open, and the love of her life's bright and bleary eyes shine with exhaustion as they settle on her. His hair is a mess from sleep.  "Peyton?" He whispers.  Her heart settles.  This was a good idea. ------------------------------------------------- "What are you doing?" Finn's voice is a tired croak as his bare feet follow her down the hallway.  "I want ice cream," she announces without stopping. She finds her way to the kitchen and her body begins to softly dance to imaginary music as she twirls her way to the freezer. Finn leans on the counter and watches, his spare pair of grey sweats hanging loosely on his hips. She dips her spoon into the ice cream as she studies his body.  A fucking god.  He watches her watch him, "You're not wearing anything."  She glances down at her undies and bra, "Are you complaining?"  His body gently finds hers. He rests his forehead against her own and she smiles up at him as his hands tighten on her hips, "Not at all," he breathes, "But your girls could come home."  She shrugs, slipping out of his grip to settle herself down upon the couch, looking for the remote, "Good. I spent a lot of money on these undies and bra. They should be jealous."  Finn sighs as he settles down beside her and hands her the remote, leaning his head against her shoulder, "They should be," he whispers to himself, "You're beautiful."  ------------------------------------------------ "Don't go to the army," she breathes.  He freezes, his eyes on the swirling coffee and tea in front of him. Cliff makes coffee and tea when he's nervous.  "What?" He breathes.  She shrugs, the alcohol having made her braver than she should be, "Don't go. Stay here with me."  The silence stretches for years and tension lands in the air, snapping into place between their bodies. His white t-shirt is crinkled and his boxers are a very nice pink. Classy.  How does he still look so beautiful?  His eyes flick up to hers, "With you?" He echoes, his voice almost nothing.  The couch is soft against her itchy skin. She holds his gaze.  "With me, by my side, in me; I don't mind."  His eyes widen and the smile cracks before he can stop it. Oh, she should not have said that. She is still very drunk. She shouldn't even be here.  His gaze sobers and shines bright.  No. She should be here.  ----------------------------------------------------- "What do you think they're talking about?" Mason asks quietly, his eyes on Sybil and Kieran.  Cecily's gaze finds them laying upon the grass, staring up at the stars as they talk.  "Probably puppies."  Mason glances at her, eyebrows raised, "A fan of puppies?"  Cecily nods, "I like puppies."  Mason is silent for a few moments before speaking.  "Then let's get one."  ------------------------------------------------------- "It doesn't work like that-"  "It does," Peyton strikes back, "That's how it works. If you don't want to go, then you stay here with me. You stay here and you love me. You stay here and love me because I am so in love with you it hurts, and the thought of you leaving me breaks me apart."  ----------------------------------------------------- Finn's breath dances across the skin of her bare shoulder.  Albany does not look away from the screen as her hand finds Finn's.  Even in sleep, his fingers entwine with hers, squeezing tight.  -------------------------------------------------------- "Do you even love me?"  Somehow Peyton's body is suddenly in the kitchen, a few steps away from the boy she loves as he stares at her, chest heaving.  A moment of silence as her words sink in.  "What?"  "Do you even love me anymore?" Her voice is harsh. She doesn't want to know the answer. Oh god, she doesn't want to know. Yelling with him for the past five minutes has been one of the hardest things she has ever experienced.  But if he says no, then she will literally shatter.  ---------------------------------------------------- "Which one should we get?"  Cecily's eyes carefully watch each puppy, scanning for cuteness.  Mason smiles as he watches her, sending a prayer of gratitude to the heavens for showing him a 24/7 hour pet shelter.  Cecily's blue eyes light up.  "That one," she whispers.  ---------------------------------------------------------------- "Do I love you?" Cliff echoes, shock barrelling through his body.  The silence stretches for the rest of her life.  The rest of her life rests within the silence. The rest of her life rests within his answer.  ------------------------------------------------------ "Do you want to go to bed?" Albany whispers to the silence of the room.  He nods against her skin, "Yes, please, Albs," his voice is a caressed whisper.  He almost stumbles as she leads his drowsy body down the hallway.  -------------------------------------------------------- His lips crash into hers.  She reacts like fire to leaves.  Her hands wrap around his neck as she pushes herself onto her tiptoes, her heels forgotten on the couch. She kisses him back as hard as she can, letting the past two months of shattering glass and bottled up passion escape her.  She loves him. He is everything.  His hands are tight and heavy upon her body, and his skin burns against hers. He takes away everything bad as he trails kisses along her jaw. Her eyes flutter closed as she lets him take her body for the first time in months.  She misses the warmth of his kisses. She is home.   Everything fades away as his hands roam her body. He lifts her up onto the counter and she gladly obliges, her lips finding his again as she falls into his passion and hunger.  His body is hot against her burning blood stream, and lust creeps into her bones, causing an ache that dances everywhere.  God, she needs him.  Her hands find the hem of his shirt just as his lips rip away from hers. She falls into empty air, gasping for breath. He falls back against the opposite counter, his face flushed and steaming with hunger as he stares at her heaving chest.  She suddenly feels empty without him.  "Of course I love you, Peyton," his hoarse voice almost makes her break down into sobs, "You are the most important thing in this entire world."  "Then why did you pull away?" She whispers, unable to stop herself.  His eyes burn with anguish, "Because I refuse to hurt you." "What does that mean-"  "You should go," the words rip from his mouth as if they physically pain him to say. His eyes meet hers, "I promise you I will come and visit in a few days. And we will talk. Okay?"  Everything spirals into nothing. Ice cold frost snakes through her veins as she stares into his eyes. She can only nod as she slowly hops off the counter. He swipes up her shoes and walks her down to his car, ignoring her numb silence. Everything in her brain has stopped. The only thing playing over and over again is the feel of his lips on hers.  He drives her home. She does not say a word. She does not even remember the drive.  "Thanks," she whispers, empty, as she hops out of the car.  Her feet carry her away.  "Peyton!"  She slowly turns to find Cliff out of the car, leaning against the hood as he stares at her. A pain like nothing she has ever seen shines in his eyes.  "I would rip the world apart for you," his voice is soft. He pauses, "And I will never leave you."  Her heart stops.  He will never leave her.  She does not move as his car disappears into the colours of the rising sun.
