I cannot wait until I have the backstories for the six written so I can actually tell about them and give some decent context, not that anyone will care too terribly much, and I also can't wait to work out the dynamic bc the only one I know for sure is zephan and makal

okay so. I have a wip I'm working on surrounding six characters and none of them are cishet but they're all in development, so I don't exactly know the specifics of how not-cishet all of them are yet. so.

there's a 12-14 year old boy, age tbd still, he's inexperienced and naive and kind and soft and enthusiastic about nature but he's also a little quiet. he's the youngest of like six or seven siblings, his family is nomadic, and when he told them he wanted to go and explore the world even though he's very young they encouraged him to do it. he's the only one of the six currently that has a healthy stable family to go home to.

of course as I develop these characters more it makes their identities fill in more smoothly, and lately I've been entertaining the idea of makal as a young gay trans boy, but it just occurred to me that he could very easily fit into the "soft trans boy uwu" shitty trope, and I don't want that at all. idk if anyone with any valid input is gonna see this post but if you do is this a character I should rework, should I change his personality or his identity, or something? I really like this wip and I don't want any of the characters designed negatively

Arren Motem: former politician, on the run (patricide), overarching plot is reconciling with/atoning for the murder and ends up being chosen as a god's champion

Zephan Temperance: former sailor, searching for the man who killed his crew and captain/lover, overarching plot is pretty much getting revenge

Ermine Andovenil: mercenary, raised in a fishing village, haunted by nightmares that heighten her casting ability in her sleep, accidentally kills her father and is driven out. overarching plot is having to accept that she needs to stop the catastrophe that's fortold in her dreams rather than keep running

Makal Solane: baby boy, son of nomads, tagging along with Zephan in the name of protection, he's just growing up around them really

Diesa Straheim: accidental warlock, made a deal with a patron as a child and has been facing the consequences forever without knowing it. overarching plot is finding the origins of their "curse" and reversing it.

Angie Jamjir: historian and explorer, dedicated life to exploring ruins in search for old forgotten magical artifacts. overarching plot is.....................
