yay i finally created an au yayayyay it has been in my head ever since i started stanning akb48 and yeah i finally decided to make it public!! ik its kinda stupid but whatever

so uh basically the au is about mephone4 reaching out to aki-p himself and hes like "hey bro wanna collab?" then aki-p is like "ew no why would i collab with an iphone knock off" then mephone was like "cmon bro i have nothing else to do" and then aki-p finally agrees and there we go ins48 is formed wooo!!! ins48 stands for inanimate island 48 (the bold letters are the letters used in the name) (alr yall im gonna write in actual sentences n stuff now woo) unlike in ii where mephone creates everyone, he actually gets the members (the contestants) through auditions. 14 trainees are chosen as members, and those trainees are the first 14 contestants of season 1 of inanimate insanity, all chosen by mephone. 1. their songs are sung in english. they officially debut with the single "beginner", originally performed by akb48. everyone was involved in the title track, and the 2 teams were formed: team epic and team chicken leg. both teams got to perform the coupling songs. the songs were "serious rock'n'roll (majisuka rock'n'roll)" performed by team epic and "cherry blossom petals (sakura no hanabiratachi)" performed by team chicken leg. those two songs are also originally performed by akb48. more stuff about the au coming soon!! also heres the ins48 logo :D

The sudden grip caught me off guard when I had opened my eyes to find her staring into me like a piece of jewelry before she released the grasp of my neck. "Yuko! It's been weeks." She announced. The sudden thought made me smile a bit. I didn't want to fight although she had tortured some of the fellow students when she was awakened but in her normal state she was uninterested and laid around the room. "And?" I stated softly. "I can't be just getting off if you keep avoiding me." She growled. "Torigoya." I sighed. "You have others." "It isn't the point." She argued. "What about the side business?" I'd asked. All the members had a side business. I couldn't if I was at school with my concerns and personality. If they took it, it was easy money with the setup although none were ever done on the grounds of the school. It was good for upkeep and shush money although I had worried about the continuance of the program. "Sucking businessmen off isn't enough. I had gone a bit further too." Torigoya moaned. "None are good enough." Unbuttoning her top while she she said her piece was enough to sense the tension in her body. She was spewing out her concerns while her skin was warm. Peeling back the top, she had the peach bra on and glanced upon them when I felt the pressure around my throat again. "If Yuko wasn't the leader... it would be easy to just have sex all day." Torigoya smirked. "Somehow I like the position..." I knew who to blame. Simply I was at fault as well when I gripped her wrist and snapped it away from my neck. I shifted my body upwards and moved quickly to peck her soft lips. The familiar confused glare had been easy to spot when she gripped the buttons and pushed them all out to my body.

I hope this isn't out of place, but Jpop also has a similar thing where the members are in an alternate setting but with a different name. For example, AKB48 has Majisuka Gakuen (8 seasons), and Exile Tribe has three wildly different AUs, High and Low (delinquent AU 5 seasons 6 movies, mvs, games, manga, concert), Prince of Legend (self insert harem AU? 2 seasons, 2 movies, game) (1/2)

and Battle of Tokyo (sci-fi AU 10 mvs, 2 novels, concert). They're not necessarily what I would call good, but they're all so self indulgent, I end up really enjoying them. Plus they work as amazing advertising. High and Low especially brought in so many foreign fans ever since the movies were put on Netflix. (2/2)

Anyway…interesting question, I thought you were gonna ask me for some recommendations.  I write a lot of Wmatsui and JuriSaku, but my favorite fanfic (that I wrote) is “Reprise”. It’s a Majisuka Gakuen AU of what Yuko and Center’s relationship would have looked if they were from the same era. It’s an OS that’s unknown/overshadowed by my other works but I just love it very dearly because of the MG 1 feels.

Holy cow, this OPV is something else. Seriously, an AU where Jurina’s iconic roles are split personalities! So cool!

OK, Imma try and break this down the best I can (with some help from Google Translate... xD)

So this is an AU where Yuka (from Shihei) has split personalities. She begins treatment so that her other personalities can meet and interact. After the personalities awaken, they will try to kill each other to become the main personality.

Manami (from Blackboard) likes Miyabi (from Dekishina), Holly J (from Tofu) likes Kurage (from Kyabasuka), and Center and Nobunaga (both from Majisuka) are good friends.

Manami finds out Miyabi likes Center, but Center likes someone else. So, by creating a misunderstanding between her and Holly J, she and Center fight. Holly J loses and vanishes. Then Nobunaga is shot and killed by Center.

Treatments continue, and Kurage and Miyabi both vanish. Then, it turns out the doctor that was treating Yuka was another personality, Jurina (in the Sekai ga Naiteru nara PV). So they stop her and change to a positive treatment. It’s unknown whether or not her mind was healed...

This channel on bilibili has some cool vids. They have other OPVs based off Shihei (like Yuka x Kazue and Yuka x Mari). I definitely recommend checking them out!

Team 8 3rd Anniversary Concert in Saitama 17/4/2 (evening show) Live Report

okay so starting out i just want to point out

that in the bag of concert brochure and other things they gave us as we went in

there was a brochure for winglets

also the sign i got was onishi’s which yay that’s pretty great

they also gave us a random lettered sticker for what block we would go to for the matsuri games

i got d and forgot to look up who was doing what booth so i just went to the menko booth.

i had no idea what that was but hikarun and hijirin were running it and were very cute

i also couldn’t really figure out the game by the time it was my turn and i just kind of accidentally dropped the coaster thing they gave me but it knocked down something else so i won a keychain 

for the concert my seat was in the third level so i didn’t get any up-close idol but it was cool to see how the entire stage was set up the entire time

before the pre-show started there was a pre-pre-show skit

it featured top lead (one was a teacher, the other was a father, i can’t remember who was who i’m sorry i’m here for the idols) while takita kayoko made an appearance as the mother and she and the top lead father introduced their “daughters” to their new teacher

these were riona (who only spoke in english), pena (who did an impression i think of kyoka?), harupyon (who jumped a lot), and kurenyan (who did a moe line)

then pre-show with the kanto members

they said in an mc that ayane chose the setlist for the pre-show

ayane getting the spotlight here was so great, she was the center for everything

and i have been wanting her in kimi no c/w forever so i’m so glad

aisatsu kara hajimeyou through 47 no machi e were all part of a skit about ikumin confessing 

it was a smaller amount of girls (ikumin, hiichan, and moka were there at least... probably around 12 total?) with ikumin at the center which was great

also they were all wearing different school uniforms and for whatever reason they gave ikumin the majigaku 4/5 uniform??? like at first i thought this was gonna turn into a majisuka gakuen au

in between river and 47 machi e there was a short break with ikumin doing a version of oogoe diamond with odaeri singing harmony

ikumin.... at least your singing has improved i guess...

then during 47 no machi e she was like “OKAY I’LL CONFESS” and then rode a bike down the stage and ran to one of the stands and gave a random fan a love letter

at the end all the members were also doing the gacchikoi chant along with the fans that was great

and then everyone came in during nounai paradise

end roll was absolutely amazing

like listen team 8 has some fantastic dancers and dang these girls are top tier

during the dance bridge the music cut out and this beatboxer guy came out and well, beatboxed and they danced to just that. first solo and then as a group and man it was awesome

hatsukoi dash started off with ayane being the only one on time and everyone else late and at the other end of the stadium

as an apology kaorumba just. took out violin and started playing it. and harupyon started doing a rubix cube

ayane was having none of this nonsense and was just like “if you want to apologize just run over here. and as punishment you gotta yell out a confession as you do it”

harupyon finished her rubix cube by her turn

for she’s gone it started out with a “saitama collection”, aka all of the girls in the unit doing like a mini fashion show down to center stage

tonari no banana was probably my favorite unit of the night??? 

because it started with naru coming out and being like “let’s introduce our new member...”

and then yamada nanami walked out

they then got kyoka to come out and gosh she’s adorable. still totally raw but she’s got a sort of ksgk vibe to her and i love her

after the first chorus they brought out this box and kyoka’s just like “here’s a present for you, naru! get in!” and naru went in and... 

it opened again and pena was in the box instead

kyoka’s reaction was just like

“hm guess i got it wrong oh well” and they just finished the song with the two of them

where did naru go????? never explained, just went on to the next song

tsundere opened with hijirin calling the “tanis” to assemble, and called the unit members

moka was not thrilled about being called the “tanis” because she’s “yaguchi”, not “taniguchi”

they also did a tsundere moe line during the middle, moka’s was “geez, stop calling me taniguchi, it’s annoying. just call me moka.”

look you guys know me, i’m not too into the cool dance numbers but dang dance8 just killed uza and make noise

between the two numbers there was another dance breakdown with bgm courtesy of beatboxing guy

adult8 didn’t have too much dancing or anything, a lot of their stuff was just kinda walking around looking sexy 

but during innocence odaeri actually sang the solo lines and dang

the eightles were definitely the highlight of the concert for me

definitely not the best band i’ve ever heard, but i liked how they had the violin in there from rumba

odaeri probably would have been a better vocalist, but rin was just having so much fun and had so much energy that it really pumped up the crowd 

at the beginning of heavy rotation it sounded like there was some dissonance between the violin and keyboard?? not sure what happened there

top lead being announced as making the setlist for 83 got the biggest reaction from the crowd of the news and let me tell you i am so hyped

Gundam au where Shibuya pilots a gundam.

Oh! Believe me nonnie. I have considered it. I have considered it. I want Shibuya in UC or CE, but…let’s be real here. She’s from Majisuka, FC is where it’s at. G Gundam would be right at home with her. Man, I wish I’d done something like that–

Okay, so, here’s the thing- I wrote this fic series (linked above) back when I was more active on love-wars-elizabeth and I was developing her relationship with majisukaxookabuki’s Ookabuki. We headcanoned that they were twins separated at a young age, and quite a few fics were born from this. So as a result Shibuya takes a backseat to Ookabuki, Elizabeth, and Queen, because at the time I wasn’t entirely sure what to do with this blog because this was in the time after J-RP community imploded, and before I met any of my current RP partners. If I did go back and make another Gundam AU I’d probably just focus on Shibuya, because, while I still ship the fuck out of Ookabuki and Shibuya, as well as Queen and Elizabeth….

I kind of feel like I haven’t written enough about Shibuya, especially because she wasn’t as fleshed out back then.

Whomp whomp.

I want UC though because I want to suffer.

May I suggest the Majisuka Gakuen series, then, which is the AKB48 franchise doing 5 TV seasons (and concert performances, and musical stageplays) of juvenile delinquents duking it out for high school supremacy? “Idols do Crows Zero” is a hell of a gimmick. And boy, some of the gay ships are barely even subtext. There are indeed many fanworks specific to MG, from fanart to FMVs to fanfic to even doujins by some non-obscure creators! (EDIT: Oh dear lord I have since learned that it's 7 seasons and a movie, but hey, they were an AU spinoff, a full spinoff, and a prequel, so hmpf.)

I still cosplay as one of these characters every now and then (and it never ceases to amaze me that sukajan made the crossover to western fashion years later).

I didn't know that BTS was such a multimedia empire! I knew they were the biggest band in the world right now, but I didn't realize their business strategists were so on point! The "make fantasy stories about them" game thing is genius!

As a terrible pretentious person who went to terrible pretentious film school, my favorite thing is how they used to do all these music videos that were epic film school douchebag projects.

Or, well, that's probably all of their MVs, really, but what I mean specifically is that they had a whole bunch set in the same AU where they have their same names, but now they're Sad Delinquents hanging out at the rail yard or whatever.

(If you read BTS fic and they're all Sad Delinquents, this is usually where people are drawing inspiration from.)

Some of these have short film aspects beyond just the part where the music is playing, and sure, lots of bands have done that, but not eight billion MVs in the same pretentious short film universe.

It's such a self-indulgent teenage asshole move, and I love it so much. Why don't other bands do this? The closest I can think of is the MV for The Sun Always Shines on T.V. which is terrible and should be ashamed of itself for tacking a sad ending onto the Take on Me music video. (HOW DARE!)
