            “ ------------- Let’s say I wouldn’t exactly TRUST him with my life.” A fickle ( easily fooled ) thing trust was with her, to lay her soul for a being such a wonder found WORTHY. However, the smile still reigned upon her features, wide and bright.

               SHE SITS, PATIENTLY WAITING FOR  her daughter’s small fingers to wrap themselves around the thick strands of her hair. There are uncomfortable tugs, sudden & forceful, but to be completely honest Padmé had suffered quite a bit of pain over the years for the sake of a regal hairdo. Her daughter’s occasional pulls, while jarring, were in no way too painful. She has a tough scalp. 

     She had begun attempts to teach Leia how to do her own hair, & the easiest way for her to practice was, of course, to use her mother’s more than ample supply. 

     It brings to mind her own childhood. how she’d practiced on her mother, then on her sister, & she had learned from them the, at the time, magical arts of curating your own appearance. There were more things to play with then, more trinkets to braid into their hair, more ties & headdresses to aid them in their more risky endeavors. Now, things are simpler. She is not in the place of her childhood, & she can only teach her daughter the very simplest of patterns. 

     But it is nice, all the same.

     Leia scoots around into her field of vision, a thick braid held tightly in her hands. It’s so long & so wide that it seems as if it could swallow the girl whole. The strands of the braid are tightly wound in some places, very loose in others, but for a third attempt, it is very good. 

     ‘You’re getting better,’ Padmé says with a smile. ‘This one is very good, Leia.’

( she wonders, sometimes, in the privacy of her rooms, late at night, which child has created the most longing and suffering in her heart; is it worse, she wonders, to watch leia call another woman mother, or is it worse to have never heard luke’s voice at all? these are questions she cannot answer. ) as leia has grown, her beloved aunt anthia has spent more and more time away from alderaan, devoting herself to the budding rebellion as she grows more and more unsure of how to handle the growth of her daughter, unsure of how to hide how alike their eyes shine, how similar they look when they twist their hair up in the same fashions, how they take the same intonation when they reach a point of pure unadulterated fury. now, though, she strides through the halls of the royal palace of alderaan, her legs racing as fast as she can, eager to spend time with her daughter, her niece, the light of her life, the rising sun of the dawn. in her hands, she holds a gift, something small and intricate and beautiful, something to say i am sorry to have been gone so long again, something to say i am sorry i haven’t explained my frequent trips away.

I’M THANKFUL FOR @majistas​ ( aka griffin, aka my one true love, aka my wife, aka @hedeserted ). Through the .... what, seven/eight months we’ve known each other, we’ve gotten incredibly close to the point we’ve gotten around to already calling each other best friends. This is the girl who once we skipped around tumblr being incredibly intimidated by each other, to now calling each other at ungodly hours only to rant about deep shit and watch each other play games. 

griffin helped me truly feel comfortable on my oc, giving me a certain reason to keep coming back here and never really feel the loneliness that it’s a little too easy to feel. we shared an extreme interest in how we portrayed each other’s characters, however never truly spoke until a mutual friend shoved us into a group chat and it was really up from there. now, we chat daily, nearly all day. dotting in and out of headcanons to whining about real life because it just sucks sometimes. we giggle endlessly about stupid sim moments, she watches me dick around on photoshop even if it does just end up in this awkward silence with me making shit up just to hopefully make her laugh and stay interested, we watch hours and hours of shows, and we still?? are not totally bored of each other yet (god, i hope not).

we laugh at each other making stupid mistakes in games, prod each other about typos, we lay it out pretty straight for each other, and we truly strive to support each other. i support her and everything she does, she’s a beautiful and bright smol child and i love you. i really don’t know if i’d be here and still relatively happy without you being involved in my life.
