Ive been doing art for my Tokyo Revengers fic lately. This one is for ch 2 of Retribution - which is the first thing I ever wrote for this Fandom straight after I finished the manga.
This is Manila!Mikey, still with long hair. I like to imagine Kazutora with shorter hair in the Manila timeline. Here's a better look at the outfit Manila!Kazutora
Was supposed to be a quick doodle but of course I get carried away. Hand is supposed to be there according to the fic but it covers up the tattoo lol
He stared across the empty parking lot to the guy leaning against his motorcycle, arms crossed lazily and smiling back at him like it was some kind of cheerful reunion. Kazutora wasn’t dumb enough to believe that. You don’t beat someone’s brother within an inch of their life and then make nice again. That wasn’t the way the world worked.
His life was no exception. Things never went well for him, things were never happy.
As he crossed the parking lot, he made peace with his own mortality. If Mikey let him live, it would be a gift. He’d lived a worthless life up to now, and after what he did to Shinichiro—it was still better than he deserved.
Yeah, prison should be punishment enough. Five years off the top, and another three for bad behavior. Japan wasn’t known for their forgiving policies towards criminals. And that’s what he was, a criminal, an almost murderer. A good for nothing idiot who couldn’t tell the difference between a friend and a foe in the dark.
Everyone had moved on already, living their own lives, becoming adults. At least that’s what he deduced from the letters they sent him. It felt like he was the only one left behind, still a child inside. There was no way he’d fit in anymore. Toman was disbanded years ago, and everyone was trying to make an honest living. Mikey was a racer, Draken a mechanic, Chifuyu opened a pet shop, and Baji was studying to be a vet.
Baji, studying? The world had gone crazy while he was away and he’d never catch up.
“Oi stripes, they just let you walk outta there?” Mikey called playfully, righting himself and slipping hands into his jacket pockets, “You need a getaway driver?”
Kazutora blinked at this new Mikey, taking in the short dark curtain of hair, the carefree smile on his face, and the expensive looking bike parked behind him, “You came…for me?”
“Well I wasn’t planning on committing a crime, so yeah.” Mikey laughed, “Why else would I be here?”
What?
Little snippet from a fic I’m writing. So things just get better from there. It’s fluffy yes. They’re so cute together. Set during the final good timeline. But Tora still made some mistakes lol
“Un Mikey Imperial (me gustó dejarle el cabello blanco aunque está con el símbolo de la ToMan, o sea que no es un Mikey Bonten como tal), y un Tora que ha quedado siendo uno de sus esclavos.”
After all these years, we the audience understand the working of both Innocence and Dark Matter pretty well. But the third power-system in DGM, magic/sorcery/magitech, remains pretty mysterious. Both sides use it for all sorts of stuff, and knowledge/training in it seems to be passed along lineages, like Bak's. It ranges from kinda weak to super powerful depending on the caster, but it's always extremely versatile.
There are different styles too! The magic Cross and the Skulls use is a completely different style of magic than the type the Order favors. Relatively recently, we learned that's because the Chan clan developed the foundation of pretty much all of the magic the Order uses.
Like how Innocence is associated with crosses and Dark Matter with pentagrams, magic seems to be associated with the geometric patterns we see exemplified on Fo's door and design. We'll see similar patterns on Alma, the thirds, and Link. (I miss Link...)
Not to be confused with this motif:
which is associated with the Noah.
Considering Maitora and Wisely both have geometric stripes in their designs though, the similarity probably isn't a coincidence. We don’t know how Cross ended up with magic, after all, but it doesn’t seem like it can be “taught” like the Chan’s.
Nea, interestingly enough, also seems to know his fair share of magic of the same type as Cross and the Skulls. We know he received no Noah memories, but he somehow still got the Earl’s magic...Or did he obtain it elsewhere?
"Rest well Kazutora. It’ll be over soon. The Toman we loved, will finally rest with us."
Retribution
Chapter 2 - iv. Tragedy
Summary:
It goes like this: Comedies end in weddings, Tragedies end in death and Histories are retellings of the past.
Without purpose, Kazutora is lost. This is how he self destructs.
The Earl probably included anyone connected to either one of the twins on the list, and just said it was connected to an "individual" because he refuses to acknowledge Mana ever existed, but can't deny Nea's existence the same way, not when they're still feeling the fallout of Nea's actions. I'd love to peek inside the Earl's "head" and find out exactly how he rationalizes everything with Nea without acknowledging Mana.
This whole arc is about the Earl essentially trying to erase all remaining evidence of Nea from the living world: he has Tyki assassinating anyone related to the twins, and he's having Maitora create a new ark so they can erase the one Nea sabotaged from existence. But that means, while outwardly trying to erase everything about Nea, the Earl's thinking quite hard about him, right? Enough to remember or find out everyone he might have considered an ally.
