ooo what's the most obscure fact you know about historical clothing??

hmm... i don't know if i know a ton of obscure things right off the bat? i know pockets have a v long history haha some used to be external things you would tie onto your outfits

like these! they're pretty big and usually held a ton of everyday objects + you could wear them with multiple outfits. i actually made one for a class once! the project was more about embroidery (which i rly should get back into), but making them was still fun <3

they'd later be incorporated into actual dresses/skirts i believe, and ik some women throughout the 1800s would sew them into their skirts. whenever fashion started becoming sleeker was when pockets disappeared until the 1920s-ish? when women started wearing trousers.

i'd have to fact check myself on it, but i believe it wasn't until after WWII that women really started to lose pockets because fashion favored sleeker images + the rise of purses became a bigger thing. pockets "ruined" the female silhouette so they simply made them smaller and eventually nonexistent.

i could go into more but i'm literally fact checking myself constantly rn lmao i might expand on this more later but the history of pockets is fun :)

i think my first pick would be orgel by shinee! you always have like... a mature vibe to you imo? you put a ton of thought into things when u do ask games imo and i appreciate that a lot. orgel feels like a song that doesn't get the most attention despite genuinely being like... a really beautiful shinee song. it has a different vibe than some of their work so i can kinda get if its not high on people's lists, but i think it has a like... more mature beauty to it? i've told u in the past i associate you with hai cheng by the8 and i think i associate that with the same kind of mature beauty. idk if im making sense <3

aside from orgel, i think i'd also go with home by seventeen! i think it also captures that cozy, home-y vibe you have!! you made my dawn as an album in general is one i think has pretty warm vibes to it. kinda autumn-y? and idk u have those vibes as well <3 home just stands out as having those vibes the Most

and for a final song since u sent three lil chicks into my inbox: orange by treasure!! i think all of these songs have autumn vibes (both home & orange are on my autumn playlist at least) whoops. it has cozy vibes, y'know? plus i think it blends the groups talents together well, and i always appreciate ur content and how well put-together it is!!
