rainbow dash human headcanons wooo!! (going to be mad long j a warning)

she is 19. i actually do not like the idea of her being short/average height! I see her as ab 5’9 so tall but not taller than applejack duh

she is def very thin but toned!! she just zooms around toooo much for me to think she’s jacked 😢 i HIGHLY dislike it when people use bra sizes as a guide bc they vary so much depending on the band sizes. she is flat chested like let’s be real here. i also j LOVE this idea of rarity basically forcing her do to modeling for her fashion designs bc of her proportions and because everyone loves rarity she will do it just for her 😏

ethnically i like the idea of her being hispanic & white, was thinking along the lines of colombian or cuban?? and then i feel like the white would be italian, specifically having an italian mom bc they are something! skintone i see her as very tan. naturally and due to being outdoors allll the time

it’s time to discuss the classic one.. what is rainbow dash’s sexuality? my idea is she would only ever date a girl because she is literally a gay horse but BUT she is not opposed to getting w/ men. this is because she is kind of a slut! i just see her having a higher libido and not giving a fuck about being “ran through” bc she knows it’s all misogynistic bullshit. i also feel like she ends up getting w/ a lot of her friends bc she is just that bitch. definitely twilight, rarity, pinkie, & aj. no fluttershy bc she sees her as the sister she never had.

appearance-wise she mainly wears shorts, jeans kinda like a levi’s 501, crop tops and sweats. she will dress up depending on the occasion. she is obsessed with converse for sure. she has a bunch of ear piercings and three big tattoos. one of them is ofc a pair of wings on her back, then lightning bolts under one ribcage and clouds under the other. in general she is very pretty and she in fact cares a lot about her appearance. she keeps her hair about armpit length because she feels more traditionally feminine that way, and she keeps it up all the time. i’m thinking naturally light brown hair and blue eyes and she would eventually bleach her hair and dye it rainbow.

she has ADHD, PTSD, and seasonal depression, with the PTSD and seasonal depression stemming from a major car accident she was in at 14 that killed both of her parents and severely injured her. she kinda “copes” with it by smoking a ton of weed during the off season from soccer since she wouldn’t want to test positive for any drugs & she just for sure has a thing for beer and cider. scotch if she wants to get really fucked up

last but not least, applejack ❤️ she has had a crush on applejack for FOREVER and after they drunkenly hookup AJ begins to see her in this way.

okay that’s it! that’s my dashie. i feel like there’s a LOT of potential for fanfic writing with all of these headcanons so we’ll see how it goes

What is your favorite AU version of each individual mane six members? (Exs: Werewolf AU Twilight, Arranged Married AU Applejack, Goddess AU Rainbow, etc.)

-Twilight Sparkle: Arranged Marriage!AU or Bodyguard!AU

This was a tie between the AM!AU and the Bodyguard!AU. For the AM!AU II’m really proud of her design mostly, but also it’s very fun to write this Twily. This is possibly the most insecure I’ve ever had her in any AU and I enjoy the aspect of watching her evolve from that and growing into herself. Bodyguard version of her, though, is almost a more serious version of her canon self. She remains mostly the same but it comes with grit due to her occupation as a soldier, then bodyguard to Rarity, but regardless of that she’s still very much the Twi we’re familiar with. I dunno why, but Twi in a protector role has always been a lot of fun to write.

-Applejack: Werewolf!AU

This AU isn’t even made yet and I already like the ideas I have for AJ. This might’ve stemmed from the monster au, where she was a werebear. But as a sneak peek: of the girls who are wolves she’s the one who’s most comfortable as one and she takes position as alpha among their pack and it shows. Like it’s made abundantly clear that she is top dog, and she fills that role very naturally. I rarely give AJ an authority role in AUs despite seeing her as the defacto leader of the Mane 6 if Twi isn’t around so I’m excited to explore that.

-Rarity: Arranged Marriage!AU or Mafia!AU

Rarity’s legit the bread and butter of the AUs so this one was HARD, but I think it might be a tie between the two mentioned. In both she’s either in a role of leadership or coming into the role of one, but AM!AU makes it fun to explore her insecurities and how she overcomes them, whereas Mafia!AU makes her out to be this untouchable queen of the underground criminal world, so much so that she’s literally called The Queen. That was a lot of fun, writing her with so much power with just a flick of a finger, and yet still using what is essentially the wrong thing to do for the right reasons.

-Rainbow Dash: Infected!AU

I really like this Rainbow Dash mainly because of her past: from being what is essentially the equivalent to a Fallout Raider in the name of survival to ultimately escaping that way of life, all because she had a part in murdering a child’s mother and nearly left said child with a fate worse than death. Of course said kid is Scootaloo. But it was that event that really made her stop and think that, survival or not, what she was doing isn’t justified and she wanted no part of it anymore, but even when she ran away from it with Scootaloo that past still haunts her with guilt.

-Fluttershy: Arranged Marriage!AU or Sugar Mama!AU

This one was a bit hard to decide on so it’s a tie. I was gonna say Mafia!AU because I really enjoy the story I put together for her, but I think she has more character in these two. Anyway, AM!AU: I rarely ever put Shy in a leadership position and she’s exactly that in this AU as the ambassador of her people. It’s fun to write how a character as shy and as sweet as Flutters would fit in said role, but I also like the added bite to her character because she’s kinda unconsciously xenophobic. It’s not prevalent in her personality but it’s there, and she doesn’t actually realize she is until a little later, and once she does realize it she’s quick to make changes so she corrects herself. 

Sugar Mama!AU, on the other hand, has Shy as one of the most sought-after models in Equestria and she is living the high life with Pinkie as her wife. I dunno why, but these two as the wise, older couple who kinda acts as sources of sound romance advice to both Twi and Rarity was just super fun and sickeningly cute. I also enjoyed writing Shy being very comfortable in her skin, and isn’t so much shy (which is still there, just isn’t the primary aspect of her personality) as she is humble.

Pinkie Pie: Goddess!AU, Arranged Marriage!AU, or Sugar Mama!AU

Another tieeeeee. Arranged Marriage!AU I haven’t really shown a lot of Pinkie but I really need to, because I like the ideas I got for her. Forced to leave her home country and her family behind for her own safety, had it real rough in Equestria, has a hard time speaking the language and has to deal with the xenophobic BS she’s put through in Equestria, yet she still manages to find joy in life and maintain her optimism. Pinkie’s strong, me mans. uwu

Goddess!AU was one of the only times I’ve ever written her as the oldest character in the cast since she was a goddess, and that was pretty fun. Still joyous and maintaining that youthful bounciness but with an edge of maturity you’d only get from a long life. And she’s been around for a long time. Big Sister Pinkie was just fun to explore, as well as how she interacted with mortals.

Sugar Mama!AU for the same reason as Shy: successful, rich, and older (another version where she’s older than what she typically is), and the source of good advice for life in this AU. I like the idea of her getting to where she is because of her youtube channel, and that eventually grew into her becoming one hell of an event planner and accomplished cook. I also just really like writing her and Shy as a happily married couple who sorta-kinda act like the team moms of the group. I dunno why, it’s just fun. ;_;
