my kingdom and my left arm for a word that basically means avatar but isn't avatar
#mainly because ''avatar'' has drifted just far enough from its origins that it doesn't evoke what it's supposed to#unless someone's literally talking about hinduism. speaking of -- another reason is that it's culturally specific#but that IS the concept i'm looking for! argh.#(''incarnation'' is fine i guess but it still doesn't have the right resonance. there's enough theological debate#about the difference to give me pause yknow)#(and ofc a tertiary reason is how annoying it is for there to be two very extremely popculturally relevant properties called avatar)#(TWO)
