okay how about top 5 yellowjackets girls so far where you are in the season, and top 5 djats chars in the book and in the show curious if it’s different especially since you read then started watching immediately (I Think my show vs book rankings are marginally different but we’ll see if I’m right about that since I just started the reread)

nat i hate that her arc is mainly about travis fuck travis but i love nat sooo much she is the sanest person in this show and i hope she gets to be happy

jackie because like you said shes my laura palmer cannot help but love her with my whole heart and i hope she haunts my dreams too

misty is insane BUT i love how crazy she is i think it's really funny and like we've discussed she is a bit like mona. she was a huge surprise to me because i started the show not liking her but now i look forward to her scenes both as an adult and as a teen

special mention to lottie because she is a cult leader but that makes her interesting and she is like... super pretty

the djats one is rlly the hardest one but let me try with book first even though i have to re-read it without the pressure of "if i dont finish i will get spoiled because it's all i see on tiktok"

i honestly think simone would deserve to be higher and teddy is a little unexpected but simone's role in the book is so small compared to the show :( and teddy's role in the book was a lot more heartbreaking to me. now the show

simone big jump because her arc was much more important and i adored everything about it. i loved that they made her a lesbian and i was extremely satisfied with her arc thats MOTHER

camila stays the same thats my mother too i feel like the show did her dirty but it's camila come on guys

karen hurts me to have her here but she had some cringe scenes and i didnt like her arc as much as i enjoyed it in the book i think we feel the same way about this lol loved suki so much though

warren/teddy because they're the only men i have positive feelings for lmaooo i actually adored warren in the show thats my tio warren

I love that you're watching Six Feet Under. It's my favourite show ever made of all time. I love almost all the characters and the stories are so good. Do you have a favourite character? P.S. I am gay

it’s really good and very much ahead of its time maybe .. i’ve always seen it mentioned next to other great tv shows and often hear it has one of the best series finales. i think watching the wire, and having really enjoyed that show, made me more open to watching other older series from that era. i’m about halfway through season 3 and i like it a lot.

it’s very much classic hbo in every single way… and i can see why they had a show like this on their lineup during that time. theres a lot more nudity and sex than i would’ve ever expected given the theme of the show… but that’s hbo for you. but i think it works out on here pretty well. it makes some pretty bold choices, but that allows for a lot of different social topics to be introduced and touched on. it’s also so much gayer than i expected.

the cold open deaths are almost always entertaining and i like how since you always know someone will die, they try to trick you around on how or who it ends up happening to. similarly, the amount of characters we are shown to be occasionally hallucinating or imagining situations is hilarious, but it also throws you for a loop a lot like the cold opens can do.

something else i like about it is the amount of actors on here i recognize from things that came much later. it has everybody on here, looking fresh and baby faced as hell lol. adam scott randomly showing up as one of david’s boyfriends for a minute… kathy bates sharing scenes with frances conroy, as they would go on to do again some 20 years later on american horror story. you can def see how michael c hall got his dexter role from his work on six feet under.

also, i had definitely picked up on the thing that yellowjackets was doing where the vast majority or maybe all of the adult female cast are actresses who are mainly known for their roles in 90s/00s media…. i wasn’t sure who the adult van actress was from until i realized in the first episode of six feet that she plays claire !

my favorite character(s) is probably david, and by extension keith. those two are hilarious together but very adorable. keith is insanely gorgeous and i was kind of upset during the stint where keith had a new guy and david was going off the deep end lol. i’m glad they got back together and i hope they work it out. keith has become a bit of a bitch after shooting that one guy so the road is a lil rocky and david’s familial upbringing kind of has them knocking heads but i think both of them are equally aware of those things now so we will see what happens.
