I just straight up keep thinking of Destiel cause it was a story fighting to be told through all the BS the CW tried to do to like not tell it. Something about it just reminds me of BuckTommy. Something something the red/invisible string theory. Something something Tommy seeming to be hiding a part of himself/lowkey miserable in the begin episodes.

oh ouch 😭 (someone give tommy a hug) let's just hope bucktommy has a better ending then destiel. i am aware that the invisible string theory was all accidental but i hope the writes see the connections they made with tommy and buck and use it to their advantage because it could be so interesting if they took advantage of the theory.

(ive never seen supernatural (kinda) i tried to watch it years and years ago, never got passed ep three, so all i know about destiel is from tumblr and tumblr alone)

Mmmh would love to read a fanfic of what the previous anon described with Buck having that nightmare about the anniversary date happening the other way around and it's achingly angsty with how hurt and jealous he is when he wakes up and then there's a second scene after they get back together where a man does flirt with Tommy and Tommy reacts like a perfect gentleman, nothing over the top and probably wrapped up in a joke, but still pointing out that he belongs to Buck without an ounce of shame. And Tommy being so proud to be his heals the part in him that has been wounded by the nightmare but he also realizes that this this is what Tommy deserves in return

Okay so, I know their cringe anniversary date is a product of disastrous writing and not something I would consider in character or logical (It sure is a bummer that Tommy doesn't know by now that Buck doesn't like basketball but I think Buck equals the playing field by not knowing that Tommy is full on gay after six months??) and I think us BuckTommy fans have collectively agreed that it's not canon.

But I'm currently thinking about Buck getting flustered by that pretty girl (even though he really should be used to getting attention by now, but I digress) and not mentioning that he's taken while she's flirting with him even though his boyfriend is right there (he didn't even need to out them, he could've just said he's not available out of respect for their relationship). During their anniversary. He didn't even say sorry, was just like "Yeah, I was looking, why didn't you?" And God, can you imagine if Tommy had done that to Evan "I can get pretty jealous" Buckley?

What if Buck has a post-breakup nightmare where this exact situation happens the other way around, and Buck wakes up with bile in his throat from jealousy and hurt and the need to punch the guy that had dared to put a hand on his boyfriend's shoulder and offer him his number, even though he's not even real, not to mention an entire table of pretty guys batting their eyelashes at Tommy while he's taking photos of them. Until Buck remembers that Tommy's not his anymore and that Tommy having been so accepting of his behavior was so so so very much not the norm

in my mind buck constantly has nightmares related to the night tommy broke up with him as well as their anniversary dinner. he sits awake at night thinking what he could have don't differently. needless to say he hasn't gotten a goodnight's sleep since the break up.

to me it’s Buck is more personable and enthusiastic with strangers (such as people they meet on calls) than Eddie who’s a touch more guarded and “professional” (though not unfriendly by any means)

and Eddie is better at casual socialization and grabbing a beer with a buddy he hasn’t seen in a few months, but doesn’t open up or show vulnerability super easily, while Buck has a hard time knowing how to hang out with somebody if he hasn’t imprinted on them and practically lives in their pockets, but once he decides he’s your friend he’s your friend for life. neither of them are straightforward loners or social butterflies

yes yes yes exactly. buck has the tendency to put his foot in his mouth so to speak and even when he definitely more enthusiastic to people he does tend to speak before he thinks at times and can be a bit awkward, thus him having a bit of a harder time becoming friends with others. and yeah eddie is most definitely not a social butterfly but knows how to talk to people be friendly. he may not let them in (really only letting in a few people) (and when i mean letting them in i mean to be vulnerable) but i'd say he's better at talking to people than buck. but buck is better at being vulnerable to people. (sometimes a bit too vulnerable to the wrong people) but yes this is just a long winded way to say i agree that they aren't loners nor social butterflies

Part of me wonders if 9-1-1 feels the vice of cancellation growing since Tim is all obsessed with his latest spin-off so they are bringing back various side characters to give them a send off so that they don't have any loose ends that need tying up. Give everyone a satisfying ending (except Tommy those fuckers)

I mean 9-1-1 probably thinks they are the most progressive show on television right now because they haven't killed off their lesbians like every other show is prone to doing (to the point that there is a trope for it). Gay men? Gay men don't seem to be as important to fandom (at least the sane side) unless you are in a niche side of the fandom. I've seen too much of self hating gay men online belittling themselves for liking men (I've been on Tumblr since 2011 so I've seen so much of this on here) so part of me wonders if shows like 9-1-1 keep gay men single because they've seen this kind of stuff online. So yeah because the lesbians are still alive 9-1-1 probably thinks they are the greatest show ever created.

Unpopular opinion but they should have cancelled 9-1-1 at the end of Season 7 (I'd have missed all the Tevan stuff in S8E05 but also we wouldn't have had to deal with the scene that shall not be spoken of in S8E06), and just kept 9-1-1 Lonestar as it has better queer representation and isn't relying on heavy handed tropes.

they definitely marketed themselves as being this very progressive show with their lgbtq rep when in reality it isn't the best. (also having lesbians not dying and calling it called good rep is atrocious like that is lower than the bare minimum 😭 i will say though and this might be controversial i do think they have better lesbian rep then rep for gay and bisexual men just based on the stories they do (i did hate the hen cheating story line though)) yes lone star does have better lgbtq rep (in my opinion) and i think og 911 can learn a thing or two from lone star. whether or not 911 should of been canceled after season 7 can be debated because they have had both really good stories and eps for season eight as well as bad. i do think they need to fundamentally change how they write the show in order to keep it fresh (like actually plan things out) personally i really want to see the show end after either season ten or twelve (not eleven, it's a weird number to end on) mainly because too many times i have gotten into a show very late in the game and only actually have fun with it on tumblr for one season. so i do hope it goes on for a bit more but like i said things need to change. two of the biggest things for me is actually doing better with their lgbtq rep and to plan out their stories instead of what they currently are doing.

who knows if they actually will do better (probably not) but i guess we have to wait and see.
