Deep Night turned out to be an unexpectedly solid little BL. We got a stand on the social acceptability of host (and by extension hostess) work, lovely parents, evil aunties and influencers and a nod, at least, to sex work*

An MC with great chemistry who communicated well *gasp* , a surprise throuple (interesting that it was proposed by Japan who went from not knowing what one was to jumping straight in within one episode - I blame** the sex daydream). Plus a GL couple with lovely Freya and Meiji and not forgetting the fabulous Dai who deserved their own harem.

I liked the fact that Shogun, First and Sun had clearly trained for their stage work and that it was obviously them doing the stunts. Kudos.

Of course it wasn't perfect - the story was flimsy, the aunt was straight out of a different series - possibly a really terrible lakorn - and hard to take seriously, the timelines were borked and the bar's kitchen was clearly just someone's kitchen at home with loads of flowers plonked on the surfaces. And one day someone in BL will work out how to do convincing club scenes - unfortunately today was not that day. However, the rather excellent handjob in ep 8 made me forgive all sorts of Cheewin sins. And as someone who's been a First Piyankul fan since Y Destiny it's great to see him in another main role. More please.

*cleaning up the club' and an acknowledgement by Freya that it had got chaotic implied that there had been less than legal stuff going on. Would clearly have been a step too far to acknowledge sex work as work although allowing clients to paw and maul the hosts was apparently fine.

you were the only child of arthit and amara kasem. you were the apple of their eye, the child they were so blessed to have in their lives. and because of that, you grew up a rather happy child. your parents spoiled you and doted on you - you were the center of their universe.  your father was a well to do real estate broker, and his profession made it so that you were well off, always set up with whatever you needed. life was good !! that was until your mother got sick. you were far too young to realize exactly what was happening, but once things were bad enough that you were able to catch on, it went south quickly and your mother left the world leaving you and your father behind.  it was very clear how much this crushed your father, and instead of the man learning to cope with his grief and process it in a healthy way, he remarried within a matter of 6 months, a complete whirlwind for you. you were so young that you were not equipped with the tools to really process this either, and felt incredibly trapped, forced into a new life and forced to put this tragedy behind you as if it never happened, accepting someone as a new mother as if you weren’t incredibly broken over losing yours. things were strange for you in the years that followed, never really feeling as though you belonged in this new life your father had taken on. and it only got worse when your father and his new wife had children of their own when you were four. you felt as though you were the afterthought no longer getting the same affection and attention you received as a child before your world fell apart. you felt forgotten.  at first you tried to be the very best child you could be, following all the rules, so incredibly well behaved. but all that did was make it easier for you to fade to the background - the child that never needed discipline, the child that never needed their parenting.  and as you grew older you very quickly started to test the waters going the completely opposite direction. you acted out, you caused problems. you were snarky and opinionated, very willing to start a fight with anyone who interacted with you for too long. they had to pay attention now, right? still nothing. but at least this time you were gaining reactions from everyone else around you - that was something. so you didn't change. it became something you very easily slipped into, a personality far more confrontational and troublemaking than you were really deep down.  it was a mask, a facade you put up to keep others at arms length. you learned very quickly how to make yourself guarded, to keep your emotions hidden so that you didn't get hurt. because nothing was worst than others seeing you upset. this was far easier. not caring about anything, getting attention even if it was negative. your love of skateboarding also blossomed at this time. you were never really drawn to any other sports but this one was easy, simply just picking up a friend's skateboard and it all just fell into place. going the local skatepark was a wonderful escape from your life at home and you were damn good at it too. eventually you actually decided to pursue things professionally and it was really the kickstart to creating a life for yourself. you left home, started to live for just yourself and have eventually grown to become one of the highest paid and award winning skateboarders. you have won countless competitions and have a long list of sponsorships. you have won gold at various different x games and your most recent win came from a bronze award at the olympics. it's something you could have never dreamed of achieving when you look back at the child who you once were. you’re finally living for you and only you, but there’s a part of you deep down that isn’t healed, a part of you that is still the soft child still just searching for attention and love.

I just finished watching To Be Continued and I must say, I liked it a lot more than I thought.

I've been putting this series at the bottom of my watching list from the moment it started airing until now, cz I saw some very bad reviews about how boring and cliché it was.

And well, while it may not be anything out of the ordinary, the story is quite wholesome and I think they had a great cast.

❗️📢SPOILERS AHEAD 📢❗️(and a lot of yapping)

I particulary liked Fluke's acting cz he really made me sympathize with the feeling of despair of losing a friend for falling in love with them. And I saw a lot of comments about the reason for the whole 10 years they didn't talk to each other being a silly misunderstanding that could have been resolved if they talked and blah, blah. I mean YES, all could have been resolved if they talked it out sooner but as someone who has issues with expressing my own feelings to others, even after their first time together, I understand Jirawat's fear of taking the next step in their relationship and wanting to run away. I've gone through that too, and I have regretted it over and over again but when the same situation appears, I don't actually try to improve myself and end up running away, making the same mistakes.

Instead, in this story we actually see some character development from both of them, Jirawat and Achi.

Achi decides he wants to try and fix things even if a whole decade has passed and even though he approached Jirawat about this matter a bit too harshly in the beginning, he notices it and only mentions it once more after he knows Jirawat is comfortable enough with him again. And when they finally talk it out, instead of dragging it out for too long saying things like "it's been a long time, we lost 10 years. What could we possibly do to fix that? It's hopeless" they say "Man, we actually cut ties over some dumb shit. Wanna start off again?". And they actually do start off again, stronger than before after beating themselves up for the past 10 years over a misunderstanding. They don't stop and cry over the 10 years they lost for a matter of simply miscommunication but instead decided they would be together no matter what from then on, being brave unlike before. And I love that part about the series.

Also, even though it wasn't mentioned too often in the story, Jirawat's struggles as a doctor really hit too close to home as someone in the medical field myself. He is absolutely right about feeling frustrated seeing a patient he can save, but not being able to do so because it's not his right to decide for them. I loved how real that felt.

Long story short, I loved this shit. It may be boring for others, but for me, it may become one of my comfort bls. Absolutely would watch again, 10/10. And I hope we get to see more of these actors, they really have great potential and talent.

Background 

Em um dia ensolarado, num hospital em Bangkok, uma mulher deu à luz: um garoto. O choro do bebê cortava a sala que parecia estar recheada de amor mas de tristeza também. Infelizmente o destino dele estava premeditado. E é aqui que começa a história. A mãe da criança não tinha condição nenhuma de criá-lo, mas mesmo assim o gerou em seu ventre, achando que seria cruel demais atrapalhar o desenvolvimento de um ser que não tinha culpa de nada. Onde tamanha era sua inocência. Mas também, não seria justo deixar um ser humano indefeso ao relento depois de ter vindo ao mundo sem nenhuma expectativa ou proteção após a saída quente do ventre que costumava ser a sua casa.

Na mesma maternidade, uma outra mãe chorava desesperada pela perda do seu bebê que por complicações no parto não conseguiu chegar com vida neste mundo. Era uma dor inigualável, não tinha o que fazer. A família cheia de condições e regada ao luxo já tinha preparado todo enxoval, quarto e até mesmo uma brinquedoteca para uma criança que os abandonou tão cedo. Mas eis que alguns pontos parecem se ligar. Uma enfermeira comentou sobre a vontade da jovem mãe de colocar seu filho na adoção, ou tentar levar a vida do jeito que fosse capaz, com uma criança que nem amava e tampouco teria condições de cuidar. Foi aí que a ideia surgiu. O casal convenceu a mulher a lhes darem a criança em troca de uma quantia bem salgada, podemos dizer. A partir daí, todo futuro desmerecido tinha sido apagado da vida daquele bebê, e uma nova história teria sido escrita.

Kawin Kanphakdi Chanthancherin cresceu em um lugar de boas condições, podendo ser criado da melhor forma possível, regado a tudo que uma criança poderia ter. Seus pais haviam se mudado para Sathorn já havia um tempo por conta dos negócios de família que se expandiram para aquela região, além de ficarem mais perto de outros familiares também residentes do bairro. Seus pais não mediam esforços para fornecer qualquer coisa que o garoto quisesse e por isso, foi-se transformando na criação mais mimada dos Chanthancherin.

Kawin, como era conhecido, tinha tudo para dar errado. Tudo para ser soberbo, metido, exibido, nojento. Tudo. Seus pais nunca lhe deram limites e isso fez com que ele se tornasse uma criança compulsiva, chata e que não aceitava não. Por conta do trabalho excessivo para bancar os milhões da família, Narissara e o seu esposo Phwatan se tornaram ausentes, necessitando da chegada de uma governanta e babá. Assim que a senhora governanta notou o comportamento de Kawin, ela precisou fazer uma grande intervenção. Deu trabalho, mas depois de um tempo, aquela criança de personalidade horrorosa foi entrando nos trilhos e se tornando um pouquinho mais humilde enquanto criança. A Senhora Wangloy vinha de uma família simples e conquistou todos os Chanthancherin com seu coração de ouro, a ponto de permitirem que o seu único filho fosse passar um tempo na casa da senhora vez ou outra.

Kawin tinha aquela mulher como alguém da família. Alguém que lhe deu mais colo do que a sua própria mãe. E por falar em mãe: o fato de que ele era adotado, era um completo segredo. Nem mesmo o restante da sua família sabia disso. Sua mãe saiu grávida e voltou com uma criança no colo. Ninguém perguntou nada e nada precisou ser dito. Era um segredo até mesmo para o próprio garoto que nunca sequer imaginaria que tinha sido vendido.

Sua mãe tinha um amor sufocante. Era como se ela colocasse todas suas expectativas naquele menino, escrevendo sua história com uma caneta de ouro e diamante. Ela tinha medo de o perder, principalmente se soubesse que não era seu filho biológico. A ideia a assustou tanto que foi até necessário acompanhamento psicológico e medicações para tentar conter o medo de uma possível perda do filho.

Durante seu crescimento, Kawin gostava de jogar bola com os meninos que moravam perto da casa da Senhora que o cuidava, gostava de correr, de brincar, de se sujar de lama, que nem uma criança travessa. Ele aprendeu a amar com delicadeza, ser gentil e não ser mesquinho. Aprendeu a adorar a simplicidade das pequenas coisas e ser tão grato pelo que lhe foi beneficiado pela vida. Entretanto, não conseguia ser 100%. Na escola, suas notas eram boas. Não era o mais inteligente da turma, mas sempre teve notas um pouco acima da média. Odiava a técnica de aplicação de provas para medir conhecimentos de jovens que transpiravam ansiedade e conseguia se sair muito melhor nas avaliações práticas.

Kawin atualmente é estudante de Medicina querendo focar futuramente na área de Neuropsicologia, e fora a parte acadêmica, atua como modelo para um trabalho ou outro que lhe chamam, o fazendo ser o rosto de grandes marcas conhecidas na Tailândia, consequentemente fazendo com que fosse popular entre as garotas que o admiravam por ser tão alto e bonito. Kawin era um rapaz de coração bom, adorava viajar e experienciar novas aventuras. Seu maior sonho era fazer um mochilão pelo mundo. Era mais simples do que seu irmão mais velho, mais carinhoso e também mais gentil, sendo assim uma figura querida para os que o conhecia.

antigamente eu tinha preferência por jogar com personagens masculinos por motivos de achar mais fácil, mas atualmente eu prefiro jogar com personagens femininas. é muito raro que eu queira fazer personagens masculinos agora, vai depender bastante do plot.

eu adoro fazer art kids, então geralmente meus personagens tem hobbies como desenhar, pintar, cantar ou até mesmo escrever poesias. fora isso é só aqueles costumeiros mesmos que nem escutar música ou caminhar.

vai depender muito do personagem, mas de uma forma geral eu prefiro proteger os coitados, de sofrimento já basta a minha vida.

eu costumo pensar primeiro no fc pra depois pensar no restante do personagem, mas em algumas raras ocasiões penso no nome primeiro se for algum nome que já esteja querendo usar a muito tempo.

KBank Private Banking ends the year with 4 awards

KBank Private Banking announces its consistent success throughout 2018, securing Thailand’s private banking leadership with more than 11,000 clients and assets under management (AUM) of THB750 billion, up 8 percent. Ongoing development will be carried on along with world-renowned business ally – Lombard Odier – that has partnered with KBank for four consecutive years. Through this cooperation, world-class investment services are offered, including capital market and non-capital market advice, and other comprehensive services. For 2019, income growth is targeted at 8 percent. Mr. Jirawat Supornpaibul, Private Banking Group Head of KASIKORNBANK (KBank), said “Business operations of KBank Private Banking have continued to grow, although the investment market has been more challenging than last year. Growth is confirmed by the rise in the number of customers to a total of 11,000 and assets under management that have amounted to THB750 billion, up 8 percent and 0.2 percent over 2018, respectively. Throughout 2018, KBank Private Banking has developed its products and services in all aspects, as follows: Diverse investment products: The new funds are those that focus on regional investment, risk diversification and systemic volatility management in order to enhance investors’ confidence. These funds include K-EUSMALL that invests in mid- and small-cap stocks of Europe (excluding the UK) and K-CCTV that invests in A-shares of China, with emphasis on stocks of high growth potential. Both funds are equipped with risk management strategies to prevent from volatilities. In addition, new products have been designed on a concept of principal protection to ease investors’ concern on unpredictable market conditions. Family wealth planning service: The service, including provision of useful knowledge and advice, has been extended from customers in Bangkok to 17 important provinces across Thailand. Advice has been given to around 550 customers on family asset management, with respect to preparation of family charter, planning of efficient asset holding structure, tax planning and asset succession planning. Advisory service on non-capital market investment, e.g.: Private Equity: Preferred Share - Under this project, KBank introduces investors to property developers with high potential, so that the customers have more investment options. Up to the present, the project has assisted in fund raising of more than THB560 million. Land Loan for Investment: KBank provides advice to customers on the use of land under their ownership, which is deemed as non-liquid assets. Such land can be used as collateral to enhance liquidity for further investment. As a result, customers have brought their land of more than THB6 billion into the project to obtain total credit limit of more than THB3 billion. Life insurance products exclusively designed for Private Banking clients: For example, product linked with investment tools to create greater returns to customers and health insurance product developed on insights of actual customers’ needs. Private Banking service for Chinese customers and Chinese-speaking customers residing in Thailand: This year is the first year of KBank’s launch of this service to serve 10 million Chinese customers in Thailand. Compared to 2017, the number of customers has grown 164 percent, while AUM and income has increased 47 percent and 56 percent, respectively. “For 2019, KBank is preparing to advise on products and services that will make our customers feel confident and content amid changes and uncertainties in many areas. On the investment front, we may recommend products that can cope with the economy entering the late cycle phase while improving our global investment platform to help them reach numerous investment products at home and abroad. Regarding asset management, we have solutions in place to help our customers brace for new laws, including the land and building tax law, which is scheduled to be enacted in 2020, as well as the trust law. KBank will also expand the scope of our family asset management advisory service to upcountry. To ensure greater convenience for our customers in using various services, we are planning to improve our digital channel, based on the world-class core banking system adopted by KBank in 2018,” added Mr. Jirawat. “This year, there have been a series of events with negative repercussions on the market, including the Fed rate hike and the US-China trade war. They add to the market anxiety over deceleration of the world’s economic expansion, led by the US economy which is approaching its late cycle phase (from 2009) after 10 years of growth. Hence, the returns on every class of assets have generally trended downward. Looking ahead, investors have to take into consideration four major risk factors: 1) Large economies such as the US economy are reaching saturation point and the others are set to follow suit; 2) Concerns over the global economic slowdown will increase the market volatility; 3) A rise in policy rate will heighten the business and consumption costs; and 4) The battle for global dominance between the US and China will not stop at trade war. Regarding investment recommendations for our customers next year, KBank will categorize our customers into two groups. First, for those who are sensitive to short-term market sentiment, KBank will recommend them to build liquidity reserves and reduce their investment risks by diversifying risks into various asset classes. KBank will present new products that never existed in the market before due to the continuous favorable market performance. Next year, investors should get ready for the slowdown of the economic growth and appropriate investment products are long-term international bonds and convertible bonds. In addition, stock markets in certain regions are still attractive, if only investors use suitable investment strategy rather than following market trends as seen in the past.
