Meet my decks

Top: The Nameless One Left to Right: Children of Litha, Magpie's Lenormand, Shadowscapes, Silhouettes

The Nameless One by Xia Hunt
With bold, striking art, I love gazing into the depths of this deck to find its meanings. I also love how the Oracle cards open the deck even further for expanding readings.
From Xia's website: A new and ground-breaking fully-illustrated, 108-card, large format deck combining tarot, sigil, oracle, mythology, folklore, & visual narrative. Instead of titles, each card possesses a unique, hand-crafted sigil forged from an affirmation based on the traditional tarot card's positive aspects. This allows one the ability to utilize this deck in countless ways.

The Children of Litha by Xia Hunt
A beautiful gilded first edition, I love reading with this deck because of its vibrant energy and diva attitude.
From Xia's website: A richly illustrated tarot deck by Alexandria Huntington featuring mythological creatures and nature based symbolism. Each of these cards has been lovingly and painstakingly hand illustrated specifically for Tarot. Each card is a product of specialized mediation, manifestation, and magick. The deck includes 80 cards, 78 are re-imaginings of the traditional Rider-Waite Tarot and the 2 additional "bonus" cards of original design: "The All" and "The Void".This brings the deck to a round 80, which in numerology is considered the number of destiny.
Tumblr media
Magpie's Lenormand by Rozenn
My first foray into non-tarot Oracle decks. I enjoy reading with the lenormand because a lot of the reading is in the relationship of the cards to each other, the way the simplistic symbols fit together to tell a story. As a fiction writer, its fun to read in this unique way.
From Rozenn's website: I have created a hand-painted Lenormand deck inspired by my deep love of nature and animals. Lenormand is a specific type of cartomancy, similar but different to the tarot you probably know from the Rider-Waite-Smith deck. While RWS has dense symbology and mysticism, Lenormand is more personal, direct, and simplistic. It feels almost conversational, and better suited for daily life.
Tumblr media
Shadowscapes Tarot by Stephanie Law
My very first tarot deck. I was drawn in by the dreamy, ethereal quality of the watercolor art, and how easy it is to wander its highly detailed scapes. Every time I read with this deck I find something new, even all these years later. A soft, gentle deck, it offers a great first step into the world of tarot.
From Stephanie's website: The Shadowscapes Tarot was one of the early projects I took on, and the first where I decided to follow my own desires and art instincts.
Tumblr media
Silhouettes by MASA
The famed "defective" first edition Silhouettes is vibrant, playful, and straight to the point. This is a workhorse of a deck, with fun extras like Body, Mind, and Spirit cards, and two variants on the Strength and Justice cards. The artist doesn't have much to say about this version, having iterated on it again and again in other versions, but this first edition has been my most requested deck due to its brilliant colors and simple art.

🥀Magpie Lenormand, by @rozennillustration This is by far one of the most beautiful decks I own. Of course I couldn’t resist to the magpie aesthetic, but every little detail is so gorgeous and elegant … Look at these metallic blue edges, it’s so unusual and precious ! The deck came with a booklet and a ouija board in a very pretty box, with the famous rhymes (one for sorrow, two for joy…) engraved in golden letters inside the lid. I love it so damn much 🖤🤍 #magpie #magpielenormand #lenormand #lenormandcards #lenormanddeck #oracle #oracledeck #oraclecards #divination #divinationdeck #cartomancie #cartomancy #fortunetelling #fortuneteller #divinationtools #magpieskull #magpiefeathers #divinationcards #oraclecard #petitlenormand #magpiemagic #pie #picapica #magpiewing #magic #occult #esoterism #askthecards #carddeck #cartomancer 🔮 Magpie Lenormand, by @rozennillustration https://www.instagram.com/p/ClGtk7_Kczd/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I just spent a fucking hour and a half tidying up my desk, swapping out the deskmat, putting my polishes away. Look upon my works, goddamn you.
I bought more floating shelves but I'm bad at putting them up. I might wait for @treeprince to get here to be the man of the house and hammer them in for me.
I have a lil dish of perfume oils from Tree, I have a postcard of Himeji Castle from @karmotrines, I have a big dumb silver bow my mother made for me in the ten minutes she was into that craft, I have @spacethread's classpect embroidery, I have the Magpie's Lenormand board hidden on my shelf, I have cards from my friends lined up on another shelf when I need the reminder. The lamp is from my aunt and it's beautiful when lit. The handcloth on top is also from Silver and it SHOULD live in my bag so I have it to use BUT its so pretty....
and I have a Logitech Lift that... definitely needs to be cleaned. I have no idea how you clean one without hurting it. Hm.
Please not the "Take a break once is a while" is pure propaganda. I do not sleep, I only Wait.

cartomancy question--have you ever done/looked into other forms of cartomancy like lenormand or playing cards? if so, what did you think about them compared to tarot?
Hahaha, I actually prefer Lenormand for my daily drawings! I helped design The Magpie's Lenormand with my friend Rozenn, which had a pretty successful kickstarter. I wrote the guidebook for it.
I think Lenormand is more useful for day to day inquiries and is more conversational thanks to how the basic draw for it is a two-card phrase. Also, the Grand Tableau is ridiculous and fun. It also introduced me to the idea of a personal signifier which represents you in a deck. In Lenormand, I often feel like I'm The Key. In RWS tarot, I think my signifier is the King of Cups.
The ones I don't know as much are Thoth and de Marseilles, though at least the latter has a lot of overlap with RWS. I should study Thoth when I get some time, it has some interesting quirks.
My daily deck is the Seventh Sphere Lenormand, which lives in my bag and is small and easy to play with. My favorite deck I own is the Iris Sacra Tarot because it's drop dead gorgeous.

Snow Foxes Lenormand Masterpost
So, I figured since I'm going to try and put these all together, I'd actually make a masterpost for them so they can all be in one place and I will update as I go.
Based roughly on the Lenormand deck Andrew uses in my fic Voice and probably any other fic where cartomancy turns up which is described as foxes in the snow themed with a traditional inky/watercolour vibe. Alongside them are versions a more digital art style and more clearly members of the Foxes as foxes.
Like a lot of more modern decks, Man, Woman and Child cards have been replaced with something more neutral, in this case Page, Knight and Court, the Cross has been replaced with the less obviously religious and pretty common replacement The Albatross. Less common alterations: some of the card names have been switched for thematic relevance (The Runner would usually be The Rider for example) and The Stork has been switched out for The Cat, something I first came across in Rozennillustration's stunning Magpie and Owl decks, (and you can see how much their work impacted my style) which I've noticed more and more since first seeing it there and has always worked well with my style of reading so it stays in this deck too.
#1 - The Runner #3 - The Ship #24 - The Crossroads #32 - The Moon

Ooooo, I missed this yesterday! *cracks knuckles*
🔮What is the goal for your craft this week? My main goal is to get ready for the equinox! This means visiting my local cemeteries, making more offerings to spirits, and coordinating a dinner this Saturday to celebrate.
🔮What role does divination play in your practice? Oh, a huge one! Divination's where I started, and it's always been my go-to for spirit communication.
🔮Have you researched different types of divination? Which ones have you researched? I've researched most popular types of divination, including tarot, oracle, Lenormand, runes, shufflemancy, dice, magpie oracle, pendulum... all sorts! I'm giving a second look to dice and magpie oracle right now, since I want to diversify my practice now that I'm fully back in the swing of things.
🔮What is your preferred form of divination? Why? Tarot! It's where I started, and it's always my most reliable divination technique.
🔮What is your least favorite form of divination? Why? Shufflemancy (shuffling a playlist for a divinatory message). I don't seem to get much out of it consistently. Music/shuffling a playlist is better for setting a mood or intention than it is for divination for me, personally.
🔮What is a form of divination that you’ve never tried? Why haven’t you tried it? Regular old cartomancy, actually. I haven't used playing cards for divination ever, and I feel like I should! I have a collection of playing card decks for card games, and it would makes sense to give it a go. It's intimidating to me to memorize the card meanings without imagery to go off of, though, so I may have to customize a deck to help me remember... Hm!
🔮What (if any) form of divination will you never try/try again? I'm not sure. I haven't been badly burned by any form, and I think there's value in most divination methods. I may not regularly use pendulums or shufflemancy myself, but that doesn't mean I'd avoid it outright.

My kickstarter tarot deck came in. It's based on the Lenormand style, not Rider-Waite(first deck i've had like this).
Thanks to stretch goals, the deck box has lovely foil printing and the cards have a gorgeous royal blue foil edge(i cannot capture how beautiful a blue this foil is).
The art is simply STUNNING. Some of my favorite cards:

i got a handful of cartomancy decks to sell
So, I hope you have seen the new release of Rozenn's beautiful Lenormand Deck, the Owl's Lenormand. It's the remix of the original Magpie's Lenormand that she and I worked on. (Mostly she, I helped with concepts and I wrote the book.)
Well, because she's fabulously generous, Rozenn gifted me some of the extras from the re-release.
I have 4 Owl Lenormands, 5 Magpie Lenormands, and 1 of the bonus Owl Pendants. You can peek at them all at Rozenn's shop.
If you're in Europe, you should def buy them from her, the shipping will be better. But, if you're in the US and want a deck without paying 17$ shipping, I have a very small amount of decks I can (and have permission to) sell and ship from here in the US.
If there are interested parties, uh, I think Ko-Fi can do physical media, so I'll set that up.
I will not undercut Rozenn's prices, so they'll be all the same: $32.80 USD for decks, and $5.47USD for the pendant. Then USPS shipping.
I have no idea if anyone is interested. I've never sold physical things before. Let me know!
