It came without warning, as if from a dream
Like every day, Mally was practicing up in the trees; one because it gave her good balancing technique and also she just loved the views. However as the blonde glanced over the fields by the academy this morning  to say she was shocked would be an understatement; the surprise overcoming her to the point where she almost fell off her branch. "What 'he-" She murmured straightening from her hand stand to get a right side view. And that is when it became clear. Towering tents, stripped material and the beginning of music starting to twinkle and twirl with the morning breeze. "..No..he- how-" Staring dumbfounded in pure shock, Mally was afraid to blink let alone move to go and investigate; worrying that if she took her eyes away for a second it would be gone. Just like it was in her dreams.
"He couldn't have- no- it's got to be a coincidence.." The teen murmured madly to herself, pulling her wild hair up out of her face into a messy bun. "He hadn't got a chance. Where 'he fuck did he find one- let alone get it here- crazier mushroom headed little- 'he fucking hatter." Mally muttered shaking her head before practically jumping down branch to branch to get to the floor. No, the music was still ringing and the crowds had begun to sing. It wasn't a fantasy.
The circus had come to town. It had arrived without warning. As if by magic.
Making her way slowly towards the field, Mally wrapped her arms tightly around herself to stop her hands from shaking in anticipation and nerves. Even if the excitement was killing her, the blonde couldn't help but feel the guilt eating away inside her. Dad took you away from it, he doesn't want you to end up like mum, he can't loose you too. But even with her brothers words in her mind she couldn't stop the butterflies curling in her stomach. She belonged here. The tents, the music, the smells, the performers. It was her home. Yet, it was all so different, felt different.
Mum wouldn't have wanted 'his, for us to cower in fear from something we all love because she died doing what she loved. She'd want it to make us stronger not 'ear us apart.
If there was something she was going to try to take from this, it was to try and enjoy it. If not for herself, then for her mum. Her heart had always belonged here, to the travelers, the talented circus folk, to the ribbons, knives, costumes, gymnasts, it was in her soul; as much as it was Mally's.
