@magicspun plotted a starter.
she’s tired, exhausted - her title pulls her down like a crown of lead and there is nothing she can do to escape its weight. people are depending on her, people she sees and speaks with every day. they expect her to lead and more than that they expect her to do so successfully. but she has never led anyone in her life and no one has ever depended on her for anything beyond emotional comfort and at this point she isn’t certain she’s fit to provide even that much.
her feet carry her across the yard, this way and that, pacing in a attempt to stave off anxiety and other dark thoughts. josephine had mentioned that she needed her later in the day to entertain some foreign dignitaries and leliana needed something else and cullen needed YET ANOTHER something else. she mutters to herself, trying to keep all of it straight. there were other things she needed to do, but she was struggling to remember what.
it’s like this from time to time, her mind a muddled blur. she lifts her gaze and everything negative seems to seep out of her body when she catches sight of ambroise across the yard. a life line. something familiar that doesn’t make the jittery feeling in her stomach worse. she walks at first, but it soon breaks into a run and she kicks up a little cloud of dust as she skids to a halt at his side, fingers dipping down to take his hand in her own. ❝ where’ve you BEEN? ❞ it’s more demanding than she means it to be, fingers tightening around his, ❝ i’ve MISSED you. ❞

happy worldbuilding wednesday, tell me about the types of fashion or what people wear in your world? feel free to talk about more than one wips!
A week later: hi!! Thanks for the ask!!!
I honestly procrastinated on answering this because I don’t think a lot about clothes, and gifted would have pretty similar fashion to ours. But I did recently have a realization about the clothing in A Mother’s Love:
So, you know that post complaining about using the word ‘homespun’ in fantasy novels because, like, everything would be homespun? Well, in Suda there are two types of clothing: homespun and magicspun. In some parts of the world, magicspun clothing is considered very high-class and whatnot, since using magic to make clothing leads to fewer mistakes. One of the few exceptions would be Amer (where AML takes place) because magic users aren’t always highly regarded in society
and by not highly regarded I mean people tend to fear them and also are suspicious of them and there’s literally a civil war happening across the country now about it
#aml#thanks for the ask!!!#this was honestly fun to think about#i know it's a little detail and not n e c e s s a r i l y what you asked#but i'm shit at fashion#and also thought this was interesting haha
