TO SAY I HAVE THE SAME CHARACTER ANALYSIS AS YOU!!! It makes me so so happy to share this au. i always feared it was too "self indulgent" because im a sucker for Mary-Ninten paralells, but seeing more people agree with me is just perfect. Just made my day 😭💕

Ninten is so fed up with his worries about Giegue coming back, the remorse of seeing his friends suffer because of him, feeling conflicted about George because somehow he feels some kind of guilt for what he did way back before he was born (his actions ended up in aliens invading Earth and Giegue suffering, how could it not be his fault too since being his descendant!!!). Mix that with a little obsession about gaining Magicant back (a place that gave him confort and that disappeared!! because of him!!!). One day, he dreams about Magicant. The next day, he tries to dream of it again. A year later, he can't go back to the real world and he forgot what it looks like.

At least, nothing bad ever happens in this world. It's... perfect.

mewunderthetruck’s ninten gives me severe psychological damage you must understand. the idea of ninten inheriting the trait that is magicant (this is to say, ninten having immense emotional denial, creating a whole world in the depths of his mind to escape the troubles and tribulations of his existence as an individual on earth,) has ruined me. i can’t stop thinking about it. i’m also just really weak for parallels between maria and ninten as i think he’d be alot more like her than he’d like to admit; and that’s all but cemented when he finds himself in the exact same place she once created from the very same grief and emotional denial that he ends up feeling. the brainrot is never ending and i NEED to die

and ninten’s companions being all but little penguins says to me that magicant is made from his memories. (having some parallels to ness’s magicant which otherwise differs greatly from Maria and Ninten’s, from intention, appearance etc) It’s like a mental playhouse where he can reflect on his memories and the people he loves without all the heavy stuff present in the “real world” as it were. My friends are here and everything is safe and nothing is bad and just look away from all of that bad stuff, if you don’t look at it it’s not there, I have everything I need here, nothing is bad, nothing is bad—

Ninten, Prince of Dreams Sketch

I have finally made my Magicant Prince Ninten into it's own au! The idea was definitely inspired by the og creator (@/mewunderthetruck check them out it's a really cool au!!), but now I have my own with my own twist!

So he's a part of a bigger au still in the making, but I want to share the lore that I have now.

The setting takes place in a world of deities and high rulers who've ascended to an upper realm of immortals, heroes, and gods/goddesses. Prince Ninten is the heir to Magicant, the realm of dreams and the subconsious mind. Inheriting through his great-grandmother's bloodline, Ninten is the guardian of dreams, making sure that people within the mortal realm will be granted with desires and worlds filled with imagination within their sleep. (Think of sandman from ROTG 2012 film)

Ninten as prince, will one day rule the kingdom, and be able to protect dreamers from those who wish to destroy the dream realm. Also as prince, Ninten is granted the ability to levitate, conjure clouds, and will eventually learn how to manipulate reality. Since he still is a prince however, he only knows how to 'jump' between realities, aka portals, and conjure cloud mock ups of objects.

A silly guy who knows many puns... but forgot how to use his powers!

He found his grandfather's old hook and became a king trapped in a realm of his mind where nothing bad will happen ever again... It's not until he receives a message not meant for him that he is awoken and able to leave. In combat, he's very skilled with a baseball bat, boomerang, or his fists when necessary. The Onyx Staff, which is able to open portals to other Magicants, can also be a weapon!

This is a variant of my swap!AU where after the events of swap!mother 3, Claus is invited to fight in the Smash Tournament. Ninten is there as well in place of Ness, though the two aren't swapped otherwise—I just thought it’d be funny.

It should go without saying that this askblog is NOT canon to my swap!AU (that I. erm. still need to actually write), but may have aspects that Are canon!!

A little extra from the au that I wanted to share:

The wells from Maria's Magicant are replaced by a beach. The ocean doesn't seem to end. However, there's something in the middle: an enormous mountain covered in red clouds. It works like the cave from beneath Maria's Magicant: the deeper you go (in this case, the higher you go), the closer you will be to the real world. Once you reach the summit, you can exit.

But those clouds hold something sinister, something wicked. Something that will try to attack you on sight. Something Ninten doesn't want to think about, really.

Also, you will need a boat. And this Magicant doesn't have any boats, or at least that's what the prince says.

Ness

After the souls of the chosen four leaves they're metallic bodies, the souls of the kids ended up just floating in time, lost with no opportunity to return to they're original bodies, (for some reason) Ness wakes up in his own Magicant again, feeling confused and lonely, but at the end he decided that stays there was his only option. Thousands of years passes and Ness became the king of his own little world, but it's been ages so he forgot some stuff, in that including his friends, the other three chosen kids became a mystery for Ness, he doesn't remember they're faces or voices, he remember he saved the world and didn't to it alone, but with who...?

Lucas

At one time, the little blond boy hear a young female voice calling for him, he and his companions followed this mysterious voice and ended finding a weird carrot shaped rock, confusing but voices came from it Lucas uses his telepathy to listen to them much better, Lucas heard the voice of a little kid, and then everything became nothing but just confusion to eventually wake up in a colorful bizarre world. (To not making this thing too long) Lucas meets Ness in his palace, Ness acting really excited because is the first time they got visitors in... Well, the all time. Ness asked Lucas If he can help him to remember his old friends, the ones he can't remember almost at all, soo now Lucas has to help this little silly fella to remember the friends the forgot, basically.

(I’ll do a proper deep-dive in reading about the au later, but for now, have a sleeping prince floating as a figment of the subconscious mind)
