BTS WEDDING SERIES: Honeymoon
SEOKJIN - LANDAA GIRAAVARU, MALDIVES
If there had been two things you both had wanted to do, it would have been eating and relaxing with a bit of fishing thrown in for Seokjin and privacy for you. It had been hard enough planning a wedding with a public figure but planning a honeymoon where all eyes would be on you if you even stepped outside your hotel room, it boiled down to the fact that it meant only a private island would do.
Yoongi had stolen the idea from you when it came to his wedding but Seokjin being Seokjin, he had done his research and found an island in the Maldives which was home to the luxury Four Seasons resort where all your needs would be catered for.
It had been an extremely long flight from Seoul and then another long trip from the airport to the actual island itself. By the time you even stepped into your hotel room, all you both wanted to do was sleep.
However, you had two weeks of private beaches, Michelin-starred dining, snorkelling, fishing and enjoying a world-class wellness spa.
“It’s going to be hard to go back to Seoul after this,” Seokjin commented as you both sat outside on the terrace, designed to look like you were in Marrakech rather than the Maldives. There were two more nights before you left the most magical place on earth that would soon disappear due to climate change.
“I know, being wined and dined and looked after for two weeks under the sun with nothing to do other than relax,” you sighed as you dined on traditional Arabic food.
“But back to Seoul as husband and wife though.”
YOONGI - BALI, INDONESIA
When you had sat down with Yoongi, amid all your wedding planning, to discuss the honeymoon there were only a few things he wanted: privacy, a place where the two of you could escape if it all got too much, relaxation and a bit of adventure.
Maldives had been on top of the list but Seokjin had already claimed that (as he helpfully pointed out) but Bali was also another contender. Private villas but still on a resort, waited on hand and foot, but in the traditional setting of Indonesia where you still could go and explore. It would be warm but not too warm.
The presidential villa had been booked within seconds of Yoongi looking at it, with two bedrooms (god knows why but you knew he’d escape into that room if he got too hot), two bathrooms and a huge outdoor lounge with a large heated pool and absolute privacy.
That’s what it had advertised and that’s what you got when you were led to your private village by a member of the resort who unlocked the door for you, handed over the key and left you to it.
“Holy shit,” you whispered as you walked down the steps onto the grass, and admired the pool for a moment but it was the view that took your breath away. Palm trees, jungle, and unbothered trees that swayed in the breeze.
“They even stocked up the mini bar,” Yoongi commented as he joined you on the small lawn, obviously not having seen what had taken your breath away.
“What? What?” he asked, holding up his hands in defence as you excitedly slapped his arm. “Oh.”
The two of you stood there in complete silence, the only sound was the breeze and a bird off in the distance.
“Okay, this was a good choice if I do say so myself.”
HOSEOK - BARCELONA
It had been pretty easy picking a honeymoon destination - you both had wanted a place filled with history, somewhere warm, somewhere you could do a bit of shopping, somewhere that wasn’t Dubai or Hawaii or Paris. Something different.
Which is how you found yourself stepping off the plane to sunny Barcelona, a private car to take you to your fancy hotel in the middle of the city and the keys to your suite in your hand before you could even think that you were actually on your honeymoon.
“Wow, jagiya, come and take a look at this!”
Hobi’s voice distracted you from where you were unpacking your two large suitcases that contained enough clothes for a month (even though you were only here for two weeks). He stood on the balcony and as you joined him, you could see the famous Passeig de Gracia, one of the major avenues in Barcelona and one of the most expensive ones.
“It has everything we wanted to see,” he carried on about the list you two had made before you had left, detailing everything you wanted to see in Barcelona from the art to the history to the architecture to the fashion. It seemed if not all of it, most of it was one this one particular avenue.
“And the beach is a half an hour walk or a 20-minute train ride as well,” you commented after pulling out your phone to check where on the map in Barcelona you actually were.
“Before we do any sightseeing, let’s go and get something to eat. That flight was too long.”
NAMJOON - ROME
Of course, it was easy to plan a honeymoon around Namjoon’s interest. There were so many cities and countries to pick from, whether he had been there or not, and it all came down to one place in the end - Rome. It had the history, the art, the galleries, everything the two of you wanted to see while you were on your two-week honeymoon and if you fancied going to the beach, there was a beach which was an hour away.
He had planned a detailed itinerary for the two weeks and had researched everything from the places you wanted to go, to the hotel, to the food, to even the public transport. If there was one thing he had full control over in any aspect of the wedding planning, the honeymoon had been in his hands.
You just had to look after the passports. You weren’t making that mistake again.
You weren’t sure if it was the time difference, the sound of Rome waking up or the fact that Namjoon had woken you up by walking into the door to the bathroom, but you rolled over in the softest bed you had ever laid in and stretched.
Today would be the first full day in Rome and you had VIP passes for the Vatican, Namjoon pulling his BTS card to make sure you get into all the places that the public could very rarely access. You needed to pack a bag with your ID, wallets, sunglasses, sunscreen, your passes and your phone to take plenty of pictures.
But before all that, you could hear Namjoon’s stomach rumble from the bathroom in time with your own stomach reminding you that you hadn’t eaten since the plane.
“Breakfast?” Namjoon asked, poking his head around the doorway with his toothbrush in his mouth.
“Breakfast,” you sighed as you got out of bed and joined him in the bathroom. “Is it too early to eat gelato?”
JIMIN - CALIFORNIA
How Jimin managed to blag a three-week honeymoon was beyond you. Somehow Jimin managed to pull his charm when he had discussed the details with the rest of the guys as well as the team. But you shouldn’t be surprised when it came to Jimin and his skills, especially when he pulled out the honeymoon of a lifetime out of his bag.
Starting in San Francisco, you’d have three days there to visit the famous sights of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. Driving down the coast would be the Big Sur where you’d spend a day enjoying the beach and the small towns that the coast had to offer before arriving in Los Angeles where Jimin had booked a two-day trip to Disneyland.
After Los Angeles, it would be San Diego and then onto the amazing Joshua Tree National Park and then onto the Sequoia National Park and the Yosemite National Park and finally onto the Napa Valley where Jimin had booked a wine tasting experience for you.
And you’d be back in San Francisco to go back to Seoul and reality.
It sounded amazing as you read through the itinerary again and you couldn’t wait to spend every moment with your husband, who was currently fast asleep in his chair with his legs stretched out. The two of you had a late night of packing, getting the last-minute bits and finalising the trip, it had left with you two with two hours of sleep before your alarm had woken you up to get to the airport.
Tucking the papers away into your bag, you slipped your eye mask over your eyes and made yourself comfortable against Jimin’s chest. You’d have access to Jimin 24/7 as husband and wife, so you’d need all the sleep you could get.
TAEHYUNG - PARIS, FRANCE
The City of Love - glamourised by artists, playwrights, poets and served as the setting for some of the greatest love stories of all time. So it hadn’t come as a surprise when Taehyung had booked a week in Paris for your honeymoon, knowing it had been a city on your bucket list for a long time and Taehyung had never really got to experience it with someone who he loved as much as he did you.
He had planned the week to the detail with visits to Versailles, cocktails at the Hemingway at the Ritz, a private tour of Lourve (because if Beyonce could do it, so you could you) and dinner at some of the most expensive top end restaurants the city had to offer.
There was no need to take any clothes because you’d be spending the first day in Paris buying your wardrobe on his card.
And as you woke up on your second day in Paris, with a wardrobe designed by Celine, and breakfast on the balcony that overlooked the Eiffel Tower and your husband ruffling his fluffy hair as he came out of the bathroom and stumbled through the living area to where you were waiting.
“Happy?” he asked, already pouring the complimentary champagne that came with the breakfast into the crystal glasses.
“We could be in Daegu and I’d still be the happiest person in the world.”
JUNGKOOK - AUSTRALIA
Jungkook wasn’t afraid to admit that he was a bit of a homeboy. While he loved the fact his career allowed him to go to some amazing places such as the United States, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, South America and even New Zealand - he loved nothing more than being home in South Korea.
So when it came to figuring out where the two of you wanted to go for your honeymoon, the answer had been in front of you the entire time. Jungkook was known for just going with the flow but needed somewhere with adventure and somewhere where he could flex his photography and videography skills. You, on the other hand, didn’t care where you went or what you did.
A road trip was going to be the answer and after many many many weeks of being indecisive, you finally decided Australia was going to be the place. It took a week of planning the route, booking the campervan and the flights and soon you were flying into Darwin, to start your two-week road trip down the spine of Australia’s outback known as the Explorer’s Way.
“It’s been awhile,” Jungkook commented as he loaded up the campervan with the two suitcases and the bags of food you had bought at the local store near to where you got your campervan.
“At least you only have to share the bed with one person,” You laughed as you closed up the doors and settled into the passenger seat, the rough itinerary the two of you had planned in your lap.
“So where to first? Kakadu National Park wasn’t it?” Jungkook asked, already plugging in the name of the park into the navigation.
“Three hours away,” you said as you got your playlist started.
“Let the honeymoon begin!”

So I remember reading this book about indigenous belief systems called The Spell of the Sensuous a while back, as part of a class assignment. At the start is an interesting anecdote by the author in which he recalls a visit to Bali, during which he resided at a local's house. He noticed his wife setting out platters of rice outside for the 'spirits', which disappeared. But then he realized, it wasn't 'spirits' taking the rice, but just ants!
At first he chuckles to himself, silly locals! But then he realizes; The ants ARE the spirits! Not in the sense that they're considered as these abstract, magical beings; But that to the locals, there was no distinction between spirits and all of the mundane animals and other facets of the ecosystem. There is no distinction between the ecosystem and humans either, humans are spirits too, etc.
The author realizes; There's a bunch of ant colonies around the house, but no ants inside the house, so how do the locals deal with them? Pesticide? No, they just set out rice platters, which are closer to the colonies than their homes; Thus, it's more convenient for the ants to take rice from the platters, than go inside the locals' homes.
And it's always enough rice to keep them sated, too; By providing routine offerings to the spirits, the humans have reached a mutual relationship with the ants (just as plants and animals do with one another all the time, we are a part of nature too), where the ants mind the humans' territory, in return for food. It was an enlightening revelation, and I myself wonder if this tactic is viable for my own home! It sounds a lot more sustainable than pesticide, and probably cheaper too.
If you're seeing this post in the tags, you're probably wondering what this has to do with Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. In the eighth arc Jojolion, there's a scene where a fruit farmer explains to the protagonists that rather than tainting his crops with pesticide to protect them from critters, he instead plants a second, sacrificial crop downhill; This crop, which he puts less effort in, is what the critters keep themselves sated on instead. One crop must die so the other may live... so humans could eat them instead.
Shintoism is a common belief system in Japan; Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is a Japanese manga, made by a Japanese mangaka, in Japan for a largely Japanese audience. Shintoism believes in the concept of Kami, which isn't comparable to Gods in say Greek myth; And from my understanding of it, it operates more akin to spirits, like what was mentioned in Bali, with even humans being capable of being considered Kami.
I find it interesting how both ideas are present in different parts of Asia (and probably more places), especially when you consider the Blessings of the Earth theme that Jojolion has. There's definitely an interest in a relationship with the land that's begun in the previous arc Steel Ball Run, which emphasizes land as a major resource; It's a motive for Native American racer Sandman, Dr. Ferdinand rants about paying respects to the land, the Holy Corpse warps the land, etc.
There's also a theme of indigeneity, which involves natives' relationship with the land. The following, ongoing arc is The Jojolands, which also seems concerned with indigeneity in its setting of Hawaii, the Lava Rocks, and the presence of a foreign company; Though I've been behind on a few chapters, so don't bring stuff up from there just yet!
Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan had an arc involving the 'Gods of the Mountain', so it's interesting to see how his own cultural background, obviously, influences his work. In particular, I wonder if the Mechanism that Jodio speaks of is related to the concept of everything being part of an interconnected system, hence things like Flow or Calamity, and the emphasis on Luck as an element.
Luck emphasizes a Cause-Effect system, which is an extension of everything being interconnected, which necessitates a cultivating relationship with the land; You put Good stuff in, you get Good stuff out, and the same goes for Bad things. Hence the concept of Karma, hence Stands like Ticket to Ride or Wonder of U. The Lava Rocks are part of the land and influence luck to bring blessings. I'm very curious to see where Araki is planning to go from here...

Around the world
Kara was excited. It was her and Lena’s first wedding anniversary. Kara had the idea of taking Lena worldwide to all her favorite places. Kara was going to romance Lena and wine and dine her.
Lena arrived home and was surprised by what she saw. Kara was standing there in her nicest clothes.
“Get dressed in your nicest clothes. We are going out,” Kara said.
Lena went to get dressed and get ready, wondering what Kara had planned for their anniversary.
Lena was dressed and ready. Kara picked Lena up and flew them out. She flew them to dinner at the Eiffel Tower. They were going to have dinner there. It was a special place for them, and they were excited.
“Kara, I love this,” Lena said.
“Ladies, Do you need help?” the waiter asked.
“Reservation for Kara Danvers,” Kara said.
The waiter sits them at the table with the perfect sunset view of the Eiffel Tower at sunset. Kara held the chair out for Lena, and Lena sat down. Kara sat a cross from her and, took her hand, and held it in her own.
“I can’t believe we’ve been married for a year. It was a magical day, and I’m so happy that we are back here,” Lena said.
“Anything for my wife,” Kara said.
“I’m so thankful that I met you and that we became friends. You are the best friend that I’ve ever had. I always wanted to do good, but it was hard with my family. My family left me feeling so alone. You made a home for me. A home where I can do good for humanity and be part of a superhero team. I can do good and be with you my home. I’m finally not alone. I have friends and family, and that is what matters,” Lena said. “You are my best friend, my wife, my life and my home.”
“Lena, you are the best friend that I’ve ever had. You made it easier for me to deal with my two identities of Kara and supergirl. And these identities aren’t at war anymore now that I have you. I can be my true self with you, just Kara, and together we are able to accomplish everything I wanted,” Kara said.
The food arrived, and as they eat, Kara continues to hold Lena’s hand. They are holding hands as they are eating and looking into each other’s eyes. They are happy to spend time with each other.
When they are done eating, Kara leads Lena outside and kisses her in front of the Eiffel tower. Lena leans into the kiss, and the two of them are just happily enjoying the kiss and each other’s company. The kiss was magical.
“Ready for our next stop?” Kara asked.
Kara placed Lena in her arms and flew them to their next stop.
When they land, Lena sees that they are in Rome.
“WHat are we doing in Rome?” Lena asked.
“We are eating Gelato in Rome in front of all these monuments,” Kara said.
“I love Gelato,” Lena said.
“Yes, whatever I can do to make you happy,” Kara said.
Kara orders two Gelatos and takes Lena’s hand with her own. Lena took her gelato and gave Kara a bite of it. Kara happily ate it and gave a bite of her gelato to Lena. They kissed with the taste of Gelato on their lips. It tasted as sweet as their relationship. They were in love and happy that they were eating gelato in Rome. they continued feeding each other some and kissing between bites.
When they finished eating, they were walking around the monuments and looking around at their favorite sites. After that, they were ready to go to the next place. Kara picked Lena up and flew her. Lena happily smiled in Kara’s arms and kissed her cheek as they flew to their next spot. When they arrived, they were happy. They were in Bali, where they were going to sleep. It was a resort and an over water bungalow.
“Oh, this is beautiful, Kara. I love this. Happy anniversary. Thank you so much for all of this this has been a magical evening. I’m so happy that we get to spend tonight here,” Lena said.
“Here, I brought some bathing suits for us in the backpack. We can change and go into the water.
Lena and Kara changed into their bathing suits and entered the water. Lena sighed happily.
“This is perfect its paradise,” Lena said.
Lena took some water and splashed it into Kara’s face. Kara retaliated. The two of them started splashing each other in the face with the water. They were just having fun and enjoying their time. It was just the two of them there, and it felt like they were the only two people in the world.
Lena leaned over and kissed Kara. the kiss was nice, and it tasted salty from the water. The kiss was beautiful, and as they kissed, they enjoyed each other’s company as they kissed. The kiss was magical.
Soon, the two of them entered the bungalow. And as they entered, they went to the shower and changed in the shower.
“Want to shower together?” Lena asked.
“Yea,” Kara said.
Lena and Kara showered together, and after that, they put on their pajamas and got into bed. Lena snuggled up into Kara’s side and placed her head on Kara’s shoulder.
“Kara, today was magical. I had a perfect meal at the eiffel tower. After that, some gelato in Rome. and finally, we had a nice swim in bali. We get to sleep in this bungalow and spend one year of the best year of my life. I got to spend my year with my best friend and my wife, and we got to spend it together that’s what matters to me that: we get to celebrate it together. I can’t wait for the rest of our life together, doing what we want and celebrating it together. I love you, Kara,” Lena said.
“I love you, Lena. You own my heart. My heart beats with the rhythm of your heart. I’m forever thankful that we met and we became friends. My heart belongs to you, and I will love you forever, Lena,” Kara said.
Lena leans over and kisses her, and the kiss is soft. And they snuggle into each other and fall asleep, thinking of each other.

teddy is the KING of side quests. give him 2 and a half years and bro has probably achieved and experienced everything life has to offer.
he was mastering muay thai in thailand and became a part of an elite martial arts force temporarily. he was volunteering at a soup kitchen and became best friends with a local druglord in the usa. he did some odd jobs in india that had him mastering specialised forms of curse breaking. he taught english at a primary school in japan for a bit and became every school kid’s reference on their resumes that he still gets calls for years later. he visited ethiopia and roomed with an old lady who taught him how to cook all the best dishes and now he’s a beast at ethiopian cuisine. he was snorting coke in a gay club in bali where he befriended every drag queen and even performed himself because his stage presence is unmatched (they’re obsessed with his metamorphing powers). he met the prime minister of canada on the street when they were walking their dog and they exchanged numbers before teddy even knew they were the PM. he got subsequently arrested and bailed out in australia for possessing illegal drugs on him. he tried out for the paraguay national football team and got rejected but not before charming one of the players mothers so much he ended up hooking up with her and becoming opps with an entire national soccer team. he broke into an abandoned, haunted psych ward in the netherlands and covered it in so much of his street art that the place looks like a work of art now instead of something to be feared.
he also got blackout drunk one night and got a stick and poke tattoo of his ballsacks ON his ballsacks in nicaragua and had to go on a whole journey to remove it four months later himself with ancient magic he learned in the most historically reverent parts of greece. all just to remove his ballsack tattoo. he never told anyone about this. the secret (and the ancient magic) dies with him. i like to think he accidentally made himself one of the most OP characters in the HPverse because of this learning curb.
This was a fucking rollercoaster to read and my favorite part about it is YOU KINDA AINT WRONG 😂😂😂😂😂 he 100% accidentally made himself OP because he was trying to figure himself out while traveling.

Skyrocket Your Social Media Posts
Hashtags. Those little # symbols are everywhere, but are they really that important? Absolutely. If you’re not using hashtags correctly on your social media posts, you’re missing out on huge opportunities for growth, engagement, and visibility. Here’s why they matter and how you can take advantage of their power with the right strategy.
Why Hashtags Are Your Secret Weapon
Think of hashtags as the GPS of social media. They help people find content that’s relevant to their interests, much like a search engine for social platforms. When you use the right hashtags, your posts don’t just sit in your followers’ feeds — they get discovered by potential new followers, customers, or fans who are actively searching for content just like yours.
Using hashtags strategically can turn a post that might get 10 likes into one that gets 100, or even 1,000. That’s the kind of impact hashtags can have.
How Hashtags Drive Engagement
There are millions of posts made every single day on platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok. Without hashtags, your post is like a needle in a haystack. Hashtags increase the chances of your content getting in front of people who care about what you’re sharing.
For example, if you’re into fitness, using hashtags like #FitFam, #GymLife, or #HealthyLiving instantly connects your content with an entire community. The right combination can draw likes, shares, and comments, turning your post into a conversation starter.
How to Choose the Best Hashtags
It’s not just about slapping a few popular hashtags on your post and calling it a day. You need to be strategic. There’s a balance between popular and niche hashtags. Popular hashtags, like #love or #instagood, may have millions of posts under them, which means your post could get buried quickly. On the other hand, niche hashtags target a specific audience, but they’re easier to stand out in. The magic happens when you combine both.
For example, if you’re posting about vegan food, you might want to use broad hashtags like #vegan, but also mix in more specific ones like #plantbasedrecipes or #veganeats. This combination gives you the best of both worlds — wider visibility through popular hashtags, and deeper engagement through more niche tags.
Simplifying Hashtag Selection with Hashtag Generator
To make this process easier, there are tools that can help you choose the best hashtags for your content. One option is Hashtag Generator, a mobile app available on both Google Play and the Apple App Store. Hashtag Generator suggests relevant hashtags based on your content, helping you to reach a larger and more engaged audience without spending hours researching.
Free download iPhone / App Store https://apps.apple.com/us/app/hashtag-generator-2024/id6477842196
Free download Android / Google Play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.trippingbit.hashtags
Hashtags in Action: Real Results
Let’s consider a practical example. Suppose you’re a travel blogger posting about your latest trip to Bali. Instead of manually typing in hashtags like #travel or #Bali, using an app like Hashtag Generator could suggest a range of more specific and relevant tags, such as #BaliTravel, #DigitalNomad, #BaliBeaches, or even #IslandLife. This helps you tap into a more targeted audience that’s likely to engage with your post.
This strategy isn’t limited to Instagram. Twitter hashtags are equally powerful, especially during live events or trending topics. TikTok, with its viral nature, can take one well-placed hashtag and turn your video into a sensation overnight. The key across platforms is using the right hashtags that match your content and audience.
Conclusion: Why Hashtags Are Essential
If you’ve been posting on social media without focusing on hashtags, now is the time to start. Hashtags are essential to getting your content noticed in the crowded world of social media. They increase your visibility, engage your audience, and ultimately grow your following.
To maximize your results, using a tool like Hashtag Generator can be helpful in simplifying the process of finding the right hashtags. With carefully selected hashtags, you’ll boost your chances of reaching a wider audience, gaining more engagement, and ultimately, growing your presence across social media platforms.

Glowing in Thailand!
( THAILANDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD is one of those places you MUST add to your travel list. The food, energy, culture, people. It’s magical. I actually prefer Thailand over Bali.
Plus, it’s less touristy. The people here barely speak English, but you’ll get around easily.
Oh my! I’m in love with this place. sighs… I don’t want to go back to Hawai’i 😭

(っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ Everleigh Vane 1 year time jump updates ♥
SHE'S BACK BITCHES! Bet you thought you'd seen the last of her HA!
After the spell failed thanks to the incompetence of the Potentia coven and the discovery of a rat amongst them, Everleigh's long kept secret of her killing her parents and Marni being her daughter was discovered and she was soon overthrown as leader of her coven (one of which she is hardly upset about because she hated the coven in the first place), she spent the last year travelling. Bali, Venezuela, Hawaii, Iceland, anywhere tranquil with beautiful views to recoup.
She's a little more zen now but also not really, she's still a bitch for the most part
Now she's returning to New Orleans with a new coven in tow, one that helped her to clean her soul of all the dark magic she had taken in, placing all of that magic into a singular item that has been locked away in a safe place.

TOUR DIARY: AN EVENING WITH LAUREN JAUREGUI
The singer spoke with V exclusively about her pre-show rituals, taking control over her music, and latest release, "Trust Issues" March 31, 2023
TEXT: KALA HERH
Sitting backstage at a historic amphitheater in Mexico, Lauren Jauregui beams with excitement. As soothing meditation music softly plays in the background, the musician puts the final touches on her makeup. This is Lauren’s sacred space, and there’s nothing but high vibrations and good vibes. Tonight marks the last show of her Latin American tour, “Una Noche Con Lauren Jauregui,” which saw the artist visit Brazil and Chile before arriving in Mexico City. And while there’s been plenty of peaks in Lauren’s career thus far–there's been nothing quite like this, which celebrated her first solo EP, “Prelude.”
“I kind of treat each one of these concerts like a meditation, like a mass meditation,” Lauren says on zoom, a week after her tour wrapped. “There's so much energy in the room, and it's an opportunity to channel all that energy toward positive things.”
Throughout the night, she zigzagged between high-octane hits from her discography, lavishing in the crowd’s energy and, in turn, giving it back to them. She opened the show with “Slow” and moved on to more electric hits like “While I’m Alive” and “50 FT,” which were sung by all the attendees. After her hit “Colors,” the stage went dark, revving up the crowd’s anticipation. When the lights came back on, she performed “Expectations” and ended the night with the showstopper, “Piña.” And just before Lauren left the stage for the night, red roses descended upon her from the crowd, showering Lauren with love.
“It’s so special to be able to write music that really resonates with my soul and spirit and then be able to go into rooms with thousands of people who are singing those songs back to me,” Lauren gushes. “That is such a special thing to me, such a special energy exchange.”
Today, the artist continues on her path of producing new music, releasing “Trust Issues.” The personal ballad retells the story of Lauren’s emotional journey–trying to navigate new love while working through old heartbreak. It’s an incredibly raw and intimate look into the musician’s psyche, an experience many can relate to. The accompanying music video, directed by Farah Idress, sees Lauren coming off a performance and immediately in the studio recording. For someone who we’re used to seeing on the stage in maximalist jumpsuits, it strikes an especially sensitive note. Here, Lauren is stripped down to just her vocals.
“I wrote 'Trust Issues' actually after a breakup–kind of at the same time I wrote, ‘Always Love,’” Lauren shares. “I went to Bali, and I worked with a few different songwriters and producers. The song is pretty straightforward. It's about having trust issues and how we all have trust issues. But also how you can feel reserved but also want to explore more romantic connections when you’re unhealed and have that conversation with a potential lover.”
A week before the musician dropped her latest track, she sat down with V to talk about its inspiration, creative process, and of course, touring. For more on Lauren, read below.
V MAGAZINE: Congrats on a beautiful tour! From what I saw on social media, it looked like so much fun!
LAUREN JAUREGUI: Thank you! It was a lot of fun.
V: Do you have a favorite memory from the tour?
LJ: The whole thing was so magical. I went to seven different countries, and each night was special in its own right. So it's hard for me to pick a favorite. But I will say one of the shows that I really loved was my show in Peru. Peru wasn't originally on the list of places I was supposed to tour, but I loved it because it was in an amphitheater, and it ended up being one of the largest venues that I got to perform at. That night there was also a full moon, and I was wearing red. I was able to connect with the music and fans that night really intimately.
V: That sounds like a magical experience. I also wanted to ask you about your tour outfits. What makes a good outfit? And how do you select them?
LJ: It just depends on how I'm feeling. My stylist Raz Martinez helped me curate my tour looks, and we picked from a few different designers that I really love and really connect with. And I had a different color for every night of the tour.
V: They looked incredible. Do you have any specific pre-show rituals to help you get ready for a show?
LJ: I'm pretty lowkey, actually. I do my meet and greet, and then after, I take some time to decompress and listen to some music.
V: Any artists in particular?
LJ: I listen to either some R&B or meditation music.
V: Yeah, help you get into the mindset.
LJ: Those help me a lot. They help calm me and relax the system. And then, I pray with my team. I think prayer is what I tap into the most. Right before I go on, I grab hands with the dancers that are around me and just thank God for the opportunity to be able to do what I love to do.
V: I love that. And how would you describe a typical concert of yours?
LJ: Well, there's a lot of singing going on. The crowds are usually so invested and present. It's so beautiful. And I think it’s a lot of empowerment and connection too. I treat each one of these concerts like a meditation, like a mass meditation. There's so much energy in the room, and it's an opportunity to channel all that energy toward positive things.
V: I can imagine it’s a very high vibrational space.
LJ: Yeah, we need as much light in this world as we can get at this point.
V: Totally. And as an artist and musician, what do you like most about performing?
LJ: I've always loved being able to embody the songs that I've written. When I was younger, I used to choreograph dances and put performances on just getting to do that is so surreal. I had a moment on the plane to the first show in Argentina where I cried because I was like, "Wow, my little me is living her dream across the world.” It’s so special to be able to write music that really resonates with my soul and spirit and then be able to go into rooms with thousands of people who are singing those songs back to me. That is such a special thing to me, such a special energy exchange.
V: I’m sure it is. And as you’re about to drop “Trust Issues” next week, how did this release come about?
LJ: I wrote “Trust Issues” actually after a breakup–kind of at the same time I wrote, “Always Love.” I went to Bali, and I worked with a few different songwriters and producers. The song is pretty straightforward. It's about having trust issues and how we all have trust issues. But also how you can feel reserved but want to explore more romantic connections when you’re unhealed and have that conversation with a potential lover.
V: Yeah, I feel like it’s something many people can relate to. So personally, how do you go about overcoming those obstacles?
LJ: I'm a pretty open person, and I really love until I'm given a reason not to love-type person. I've learned over time to protect myself a lot more. I’ve learned to keep pieces that are more vulnerable to myself until someone proves that they're worthy of trust. Also, I feel like sometimes people deserve second chances depending on the infraction against your energy. Sometimes people don't, and then there's a distance that's created and safe space that's created. But I feel like most people are really just learning how to love and learning how to love themselves authentically and learning how to love others authentically. We all kind of come from a lot of–the world that we live in is filled with capitalism, white supremacy, all of these different structures that really play a deep ingrained role. I have a lot of grace because a lot of people are healing and on their journey of healing.
V: I feel like that's a healthy point of view–to give people grace while still protecting your own energy. I hope a lot of people also resonate with that sentiment.
LJ: A lot of people give people like a million chances, expecting people to change but blaming themselves for the reason why someone won't change. And being like, "Oh, if I love harder, if I do this more–if I give more, then this person will learn to love me." And sometimes, when people break your trust, you must honor yourself too. You have to give yourself grace and be like, "You know what? This person doesn't resonate with who I want to be, and that's okay. It’s also not my fault."
V: So true.
LJ: I feel like people test their trust boundaries often because they think it's their fault, you know?
V: Totally. It’s a tough thing to learn–the sweet spot between protecting yourself and being considerate of others’ journeys. A couple of more questions for you before I let you go. I also watched the music video for “Trust Issues,” can you talk about its creative direction? What made you want to pursue a music video where we see you in the studio?
LJ: Yeah, I wanted it to be very raw and in the process. We go from the live performance of “Always Love” that I last dropped, and we see the stripping back of all the gimmicks–all of the glitz and glamor. You see me in the studio creating, which is a very raw space. And I feel like that's what “Trust Issues” is about–the rawness of being alive and vulnerable with somebody.

Hey everyone,
Guess who's here to add a splash of color to your feed? It's me, girl from the small, gray town near the Ural mountains. Yep, that's right, life here might be a tad dull, but I'm all about turning those shades of gray into vibrant hues!
Let's talk about my two great loves: travel and cars. ✈🚗 Despite the monotony of my surroundings, my wanderlust knows no bounds. There's something magical about exploring new destinations, immersing myself in different cultures, and collecting stories along the way. From the bustling streets of Tokyo to the serene beaches of Bali, each adventure leaves me craving more.
And then there are cars. Oh, how they make my heart race! In a town where excitement is scarce, my small fleet of five cars is my ticket to exhilaration. They're not just vehicles; they're my escape pods, transporting me to places where the world feels a little less gray.
So buckle up, folks, because this is just the beginning of our journey together. Stay tuned for more tales from my colorful life—adventures, musings, and everything in between.
Catch you in the next post!

These signs are some of the most dynamic people I’ve ever met in my life. I will know them my whole life and there will always be something new to learn about them and I think that is magical.
Places I most want to visit:
I really want to go to Lisbon. I also really want to go to Wales and Scotland. Also Amsterdam. Also I really, really loved Bali and would go back there in a second. New Zealand is high on my list and so is Germany, Denmark, Greece, Italy. Also Norway because my moms dads side is from there and because she’s adopted it would be really nice to feel connected to the land there since I’ll never know the people. Also Ireland.
I also really REALLY want to go to Istanbul.
I’ve been to a few of these countries before, like I’ve been to Italy and Greece and Istanbul and Bali and Germany. But I was So young. I want to be there again as an adult and have a crisis about how much time has passed and how much I’ve grown.

BIRD WIZARD'S BIRTHDAY
A feathered sorcerer and his mismatched love; a cliffside tower and its dozen prisoners; a sumptuous spread and its discontents.
20/2 - 26/2 #dungeon23
A wizard's tower---that's pretty much a dungeon, right? But this one is also an event: a birthday party! There are thieves and drunken guests and politically-inconvenient dignitaries.
Was trying to model Leucops the bird wizard after a Bali mynah. But I couldn't get its profile right? (I'm more used to common mynahs---but that's no excuse, either, because Leucops looks like a chicken ... Oh well.)
Leucops was banished from the sky after he got pissy he didn't get invited to the cool-songbirds club, and he trapped them in magic birdcages.
This one is full of pangolin-folk and termite-folk and stuff like "twelfth bell" instead of noon, because it is set underground, in the cavern of the God-In-Pieces. (Incidentally, this also means the whole party is lit by a constant magic-hour-like light coming from the south.)
But there's so little space in the notebook, and I couldn't rely on short-hands like the day-night cycle, or even human NPCs.
So writing this was finicky. And the text ended up real clumsy.
For example: there's a timeline in there---but it is scattered all over, instead of put in a single list, which would be the more useful way to do it.
Sigh.
At least I liked making the illustration for this. Lost myself in the tiny details: the cushions in the bedroom, the writing desk in the lounge; the frescoes in the ground-floor gallery; the tables and chairs and flags of the party ...
Detail I am most proud of: the little latrine area, with chamber-pots. Because you need a place to piss, at a party!
+
#dungeon23 thing I loved this week: the visual density and charm and neatness of Quadra. Hope all this gets compiled somewhere; it is too good.
