Why did you kill of Ashpaw? I’m just curious, not trying to be butthurt about it

The practical, Doylist answer is that because we aren't going to use the storyline he's the focal point of in the third arc, and because his sister will already be carrying on the family line, he served no narrative purpose and just took up space in the allegiances. A lot of deaths we come up with are decided by whether the character is going to serve any purpose or not if they stay alive, and Ashpaw simply wouldn't have in this case.

I was gonna say that Iterium and Better Bones are on opposite ends of the fantasy to realism spectrum with warrior cat rewrites. Not a diss at all on either of these works, I just think it’s mildly humorous

I was just talking with Jester about how I feel like we here at Iterum did the most basic version of a rewrite, in that we took a hammer and nails to canon and added some lore and a lot of altered story beats. It seems like everyone else is doing proper AUs and way out there stuff like giving the cats tools or writing them as bipedal animal people, and we stuck to "fix the story itself". Not that any of this is necessarily a bad thing, but it's interesting to me.
