It was days like this that Newt loved living in an end block terrace house.

Soft sun rays dripped into the room from windows on two walls. Everything was coated in a delicate warmth; a cool breeze sneaking in from barely opened windows.

Newt laid on a new daybed, his own body melding with Gellert’s.

The latter was still asleep. His face was soft, all of his features being highlighted.

Carefully, Newt toyed with the blonde curls. It was so soft. For a few minutes he simply marvelled over the other man. Eventually, his eyes travelled to the tree in the room. His favourite green python slithered about, finding the perfect spot to take a nap in the sun.

Newt froze when a voice started humming a song. Quickly, he realised Gellert was awake, eyes jumping to look back at the man.

Gellert smiled at the red head, all soft and fond. He wondered if Newt knew exactly what he looked like, all sun kissed and infinite freckles. He could be a deity, and Gellert was happy to have him. Shifting, he tightened his arms around Newts’ waist, almost purring when the latter kept playing with his hair.

And then it hit him.

The infamous Gellert Grindelwald would do anything for this cute zoologist. He’d kill for, protect, adore… love.

Gellert was in love and was consumed by it like it was a tidal wave. It snuck up on him and there was no way for him to get rid of it.

Not that he wanted to.

A week later, Gellert found himself in the same spot.

After dining out with Newt, the pair lounged in the daybed, bodies pressed tightly together. And Gellert couldn’t stand to do nothing.

“…get a tattoo with me?”

Newt pulled back just enough to see the blondes face. “Are you sure?” he asked. He saw the blonde’s expression falter, like he was debating putting emotional walls up that instant. Newt panicked.

“If you don’t want to –”

“No! No,” Newt interrupted. He pushed himself upright with his arms. “I know it’s a big deal in your, uh, industry. I don’t want you to regret offering.” One of Gellert’s hands moved from his hips to cup his cheek gently.

“You are amazing. Truly wonderful.”

Newt flushed but didn’t look away. “I’ll get a tattoo with you,” he said grinning.

Gellert’s eyes lit up. He titled his head up to capture Newt’s lips with his own.

They would use words to express their feelings another day.

It took them around a month to decide on what tattoos to get. Gellert settled on a large dragon tattoo that covered his left chest, shoulder, and upper arm.

Newt would get a custom design.

On his left thigh and hip would be a sleeping dragon. Its tail would curl with the end of a snake, whose head sits on his right shoulder – mouth open in threat, ready to pounce. The snakes’ body would wrap around an intricate dagger that starts from the base of his neck and goes down most of his back.

The issue was finding someone to do it.

“Why can’t your groups person do it?” Newt asked, half curious, half probing. He hadn’t fully believed previous reasons.

Gellert stared up at him from his seat at the desk. “He has wandering eyes,” he said.

Newt sat himself down on the desk, to side to not disrupt the paper in the middle. He gave the blonde a facial expression that begged him to tell more. Tell everything.

“I don’t want him to look at you.”

“People are going to look. Isn’t that one of the reasons to get the tattoo?” Newt’s voice was calm as he spoke.

“The tattoo means you’re mine. That people need to stop staring, to keep their hands off!” Gellert snapped. “Of course, they’d look, you’re absolutely gorgeous. But they don’t know when to stop. If he stares at you too long, I might just kill him before he finishes your tattoo.”

Newt hummed. “Is that so?”

“Natürlich, ich liebe dich. I would…” Gellert trailed off.

“Ich auch” Newt replied, beaming. “Every day I fall a little bit further.”

In a flash, Gellert was stood between Newts legs, kissing him intensely. He revelled in how Newt matched his movements, and he craved more when the red head let out a groan.

It wouldn’t be until the next morning when Vinda shot him an amused glance that he thought of the perfect tattooist.

Newt was running late. He had been screamed at by some random lady on the train. Then, he had to evade and out run station authorities. All because he didn’t know his python had slithered its way into his bag before he left.

At least he was only fifteen minutes late.

A bell jingled as he opened the door to the tattoo parlour. It was a new building but had been styled like an old aristocrats dream house. It was quite cute – extravagant yet still cosy.

Vinda appeared from behind the counter, greeting him kindly. She locked the door behind him. “They’re already in the back. He – oh mon Dieu!” She exclaimed, seeing the head of a green python sprout from Newt’s bag. “Pickett,” she said before opening the door to the workspace.

“Sorry,” Newt said to her before letting Pickett settle on his shoulders.

In the room was Gellert, shirt off and waiting for his arrival. He needed to make sure Newt liked the stencil before starting.

Instantly in Vinda’s arms was Michelle. She was a Parisian tattoo artist who had a tattoo on her left ring finger that matched with the other French lady.

“Newt!” Gellert kissed his cheek. “Hello Pickett,” he added, giving the snake a small pat on the head.

The group spent a couple minutes chatting, catching up, and introducing Newt to Michelle.

He could see why the others liked her. He quite liked her fashion, and it was obvious that she was fully committed to her work… and Vinda.

Newt watched Gellert get the line work of his tattoo done before Michelle took him aside to figure out his own stencil proportions.

They booked in his first session for a week later.

Gellert showed great restraint over the next four-ish months. He, like a reasonable person, cared more about Newt’s tattoo aftercare than great sex. But with the tattoo finished as well as three weeks of healing, he was ready to spoil Newt with a good night.

The pair had a delightful dinner at [queenie’s restaurant] before heading to Newt’s house.

“Mon amour,” Gellert said into the crook of the red heads neck. He was hugging him from behind as they stood in the bedroom. “Are you up for some fun?” He finished with a kiss to the skin on the others right shoulder.

Newt hummed, swaying them both a little as he turned in place. He had a playful smile on his lips. “What kind of fun?”

Placing light kisses on the skin above the tattoo, Gellert mumbled into his ear, “The kind to leave you covered in pretty little marks.”

Newt laughed fondly. He nodded, slowly waling backwards towards the bed. Every step he took was matched by the other man.

They took their time undressing, building up anticipation and sharing soft kisses.

At one point, Gellert stopped so he could admire the full effect of Newt’s tattoo, tracing it as well as the odd scar the littered the freckled body.

It wasn’t that Newt disliked it. In fact, he loved how much the other man adored him. However, he was promised a good time, and if he was being honest, he was growing a tad bit impatient.

“Gellert,” he called.

The blonde immediately pulled back, letting Newt sit up before pulling him into his lap. Gellert’s hands settled on hips, grip flexing as he looked into those pretty green eyes. Without exchanging any more words, he knew exactly what his love wanted from him. He grinned.

Cautious of the tattoo, Newt was kept off his back for most of the night. And if he was carried into the bathroom when they were done to clean up, well, that was just for him and Gellert to know (the big softie).

You stand in your living room watching the blood soak through the carpet. You don’t move at all, not a single fucking inch, because you don’t want to make it worse.

It’s the fancy kind of carpet, the kind that usually get hung in museums or auctioned off during estate sales. Made with silk and a fine edging that you’ve watched the cleaning lady brush through to keep it free of tangles. Such care and astute actions have been taken to maintain it.

You wonder if they’ll throw it out or just have it cleaned. You imagine her on her hands and knees, trying to get blood out of it.

At least the background is already red you think as the blood spreads out from the body and the design on it winks out flower by flower and the blood seeps through the fibers. The blood creeps in the direction of your feet but you stay silent and still, exactly like how your husband wants you to be.

Geumjae has trained you well.

No part of him moves but you’ve long gotten used to the stillness of dead bodies and the look of slit throats- like a smile only more open and without any teeth. It might be the only smile you see today so you don't look away.

What you’ve never quite gotten used to is how the bloodshed looks against things so grand.  

Maybe it’s just because you grew up poor, but expensive things blood splatters, soaked with blood, and soiled turn your stomach. It didn’t use to be so routine; you used to vomit when he killed people in front of you. We killed them just to show you that he could, how immune he was from consequences.

But Drug lords and kingpins lords are that way; Their hubris defines them. Your husband is no different.

The antique carpets, the gilded couches, the Tiffany vase that costs more than most people’s yearly salaries was a wedding gift. And you watch as he plops the man’s fingers into it one by one as he saws them off. No fingerprints and no evidence. The teeth will be next.  

There’s something about gold splattered with blood that sets you sick and dizzy. Expensive items piled around the room, as stained as the money that was used to purchase them. Geumjae has always known how to poke at you.

You know Geumjae is only acting this way because of the funeral tomorrow.

He's not upset or devastated- far from it. His hands shake with a tremor of anticipation. The wild look in his eyes just a little bit more keen than usual. He needed something to settle his nerves, and this man was the perfect opportunity. 

The man’s pleas still ring in your ears. “Please please- I didn’t mean- tell him I didn't mean it.” But you hadn't spoken up because it never matters if you defend the men your husband thinks you’re sleeping with. Or the ones that inadvertently touch your hand when you go out, or the ones that God forbid slip you their number like this poor alpha.

Defending them only makes him more violent and it only makes him take it out on you worse later. Death for this man was an unavoidable fate.

He will take it out on you worse later, you don’t wonder, you don’t worry. At this point, you know what awaits you upstairs and it’s impossible to avoid. He’ll end in an unmarked grave before daylight, and you’ll end up upstairs. Teeth and fingerprints pulled and ground up with nothing but isotopic analysis to possibly identify him. He’ll end up missing and forgotten. A john doe. The same way your husband has dealt with the countless other men who have been misfortunate enough to cross your path.

You are less a woman these days than you are an omen; a black cat crossing their path, spilled salt, a broken mirror. You wonder, could you have stopped it?

You watch as the blood soaks into the note. Obscuring the black ink of a name and a 9-digit number in seconds. The note he tried to slip you in the restaurant earlier lies on the floor surrounded by the black plastic of a shattered phone.

You decide it doesn’t matter, none of this matters as you let the blood trickle closer and closer, let it pool between your toes as he continues to cut off the man’s fingers one by one.

His heart is no longer beating so it’s less messy this way. At least there will be no splatters on the ceiling to clean.

The teeth make a sharper noise hitting the silver vase as Geumjae moves on to them. One thud and then another, until you flinch at the very last one. Only then does your husband set the pliers and the knife down and stand up.

Geumjae comes close to you almost nose to nose, you don't flinch, you don't even make eye contact with him as he picks up your long skirt from the floor and uses the fabric to wipe his hands. He drops the knife at your feet and heads upstairs without a word. 

You don’t try and clean up the body, he has people for that and that is not your use here. That is not your use to him. You don’t want to make it worse.

You follow him upstairs to the bedroom without a word.

Gone are the days of wolves and packs, of shifters and magic. Gone are the days of territories icy and impersonal or Pack alpha's bloody and greedy. Gone are the days of survival through snow and salt and fog. Love and mating are no longer decided through viscera and dominance.

Gone, but not forgotten.

Some touches of that time still linger in the modern era. Although it's far more common for Alphas and Omegas to pair off in single pairs or trios; large multi-pair polyamorous packs still exist in most pockets of the world. Attractive for those who wish to pool resources.  Pack’s come with many omegas and few alphas if you're lucky- and many alphas and few omegas if you're not. 

Few packs are lucky enough to count a Beta among their ranks. As the rarest sub gender by population, they are offered certain concessions by society.

They say if you’re an alpha you’re born lucky, and if you’re an omega you’re lucky to be born. And if you’re born beta? You then are luck. A four-leaf clover. A rabbits foot. A horseshoe.

Betas are valuable for so many reasons it’s hard to put a pin on exactly why society praises them so much. Is it their even temperaments? Their pheromones and their biology that ease the hurts from heats and ruts? Is it their inability to have their emotions altered by pheromones or is it simply their rarity?

Only 5 percent of the world's population are Betas. Unlike alphas (53 percent) and omegas (42 percent).

Beta’s are expected to hold certain stations by society, often sought out for job interviews and college applications, for brand opportunities and political slots. Being a beta means you’re trusted, being a beta means you’re desired. Betas are the political advisers, the commanders, and the CEOs of the world. The ones trusted above all else to make decisions.

There are so few betas in the world, but nearly every pack needs one to function properly. Society makes special allowances for Beta's; things that are not given to alphas and omegas.

Most betas are nomadic by design and would never even dream of staying with just one pack. Most betas have at least two packs that they split their time between. Taking rest from one and safe harbor in another as fluidly as a bee would buzz from one flower to the next.

Though alphas and omegas might feel possessive over a beta; it’s generally a social taboo to interfere with the transfer of a beta from one group to another. Bi-monthly or bi-yearly- or whatever works for each pack. Some packs even get houses next to each other so that their beta can have a more free-flowing arrangement between Dens. Pack alphas do not covet Beta's the way they covet omega's or at times- other submissive alphas. It’s forbidden. It’s not the way of things. It’s shameful.

Every person has the same idea shoved down their throat post-presentation. See- betas don’t need to stay in one place- see- it’s fine to give up the one you love to another. It’s normal. Don’t make a big deal out of it. Society will crumble without it, so don’t even try.

It’s the same idea that’s parroted when it comes to larger packs too- why are you complaining about your alpha bringing a new omega home? You get a nestmate out of it, don’t you want someone to help with the laundry? Why are you complaining about your omega seeking out another alpha? Is your knot not enough for them? Aren’t you glad to have someone to help you provide for them?

The world is a ruthless place, we all know sometimes it takes more than one income to have children. As the world changes and capitalism ebbs and flows, multi member parental groups become more and more common. God knows I’d love not to shit a pup out of my trap if I could.

It’s not that beta’s don’t want to stay with just one person; it’s just that monogamy is not in their nature. Alphas and omega's bond and mate and fuck, but Beta's are made of different, more refined genetics. Without these flimsy rules society would quickly fall into outright warfare.  Poly-packy is accepted and encouraged for most Betas by society.

But It is going to be heavily heavily implied at certain points in the new version with more detail than the first version. One unintended consequence of giving this story more detail is that things will become a bit more triggering and I don’t want anyone to be surprised by that. If there’s ever something in these chapters that you think deserves a warning I will not hesitate to put it in the tags at the beginning of the chapter, just let me know and I’ll add it.

Seen some viewers not liking The Judge from Hell for different reasons, and I think I kind of get why (just my guess). Also, disclaimer (in case it's not obvious enough): I respect and am fine with anyone disagreeing with me and not liking the show for whatever reason.

If you've watched The Devil Judge, then The Judge from Hell is not that. Unlike The Devil Judge, it doesn't have a dark, grim, ominous setup that stays true to that heavy vibe till the end. If you've watched Lucifer, it's not that either. Close but also not really. Unlike Lucifer, The Judge from Hell hasn't shown us an anti-hero/anti-heroine who, underneath the charisma and confidence and tricks and looks, is full of self-loathing, unprocessed angst and human-like emotions. I'm just going off of the 8 episodes of TJFH aired so far. Unlike Lucifer, Justitia doesn't seem to display a subconscious desire not to be misunderstood and abandoned, nor does she feel complex emotions about humans and humanity (it's just starting with Daon she still has a long way to go). We don't see a Fallen/Demon with a semblance of a moral compass here.

Even her "I trust what children say" doesn't mean much because she doesn't do that out of some morality; to her, it's just facts that children are the least crafty and least vile amongst humans. Justitia is very mechanical (and petty even) in what she does- she's not on some great self-discovery or redemption journey in here to even entertain the notion of humanity or morality. If we expect such nuance from her so early on in the story, we maybe setting ourselves up for disappointment. Y'all she's been doing this for Lord knows HOW many hundred years. It's not her first gig. If you have been having coffee at night despite being an insomniac for like three decades, it's highly likely you'd stop thinking or caring about the morality, the 'rightness' of drinking coffee even when it destroys your health.

It's like that for her, to the point where she can, in fact, treat every murder, every crime, every criminal lightly. She's been the judge, jury and executioner all along, and that's the job she needs to do well on earth too. As audience, we may be living on earth longer than she's been but the moment Justitia stepped in, it became 'her world' that we're now getting a peek at.

She's not some vigilante or messiah; just an eccentric, murdering demon from hell who likes Z cola and a pretty wardrobe and Han Daon too- what's wrong with that lol. I remember seeing similar sentiments when Vincenzo was on, because some felt the comedy and humor didn't go well with the overall theme, with a psycho CEO committing all kinds of crimes+ ML's childhood grief and mafia ptsd+ revenge etc. I feel like it was a conscious choice not to make the show so heavy or serious, despite the subject matter. TJFH feels like it treats heavy stuff casually because it is mostly shown through Justitia's lens, and so far, SHE has been treating heavy stuff casually. She really doesn't feel anything emotionally for the girl being in an abusive relationship, or the child being with that horrible excuse of a stepmom. All she sees are the sinners and their sins, and whether they can help her fulfill her mission.

But even that is changing now, gradually, with Justitia/Kang Bitna starting to feel more and more human emotions (props to Daon).

Now, could we have gotten a more nuanced character arc with a serious undertone? Maybe yes, maybe no. The story is yet to unfold fully so I say it's too early to decide that? However, three things that come to mind are: 1. kdramas generally don't get seasons unlike TV series in the US or UK, to explore things gradually with each season geared towards a certain theme or development. Lucifer did what it did in six seasons. 2. I've noticed that unless it's a super horror, super apocalyptic or dystopian show, kdramas like to incorporate humor in their story no matter what genre it is (even shows like The Light in Your Eyes or Moon Lovers or Hi Bye, Mama have their lighthearted moments). Kdramas aren't perfect. Different shows become perfect to different audiences because of their personal preferences. I watch the show because the trailers promised us a fantasy drama with angst between the leads, because it gives me a good laugh, and also maybe because a small part in me kinda sorta lives vicariously through Justitia's ultimate reckoning lol.

I'm actually glad it's not a heavy show because the stuff they've shown so far can be quite disturbing and triggering and I'd be very hesitant to proceed with it if that were the case. 3. I think it's also okay to acknowledge that not all writers/creatives would prefer to do the research needed to pull off certain themes, nuanced character arcs and dynamic, which can leave some viewers wanting more out of a character/show too.

It's fine not to like a hyped drama or a character (happens to me too). But in my opinion, the show is delivering what it promised to deliver initially, and I'm glad it is.

Schneider's family ; The significance of Marian

REVERSE 1999 SPOILERS AHEAD : FOR CHAPTERS 1 AND 2 ! Please tread carefully and make sure you only read about what you're willing to know.

I know we're all still completely in shambles from Chap. 2, but I wanted to make a speculation about Schneider-- and a comment about how well she's written !

Let me start with this: In many pieces of media, viewers, listeners and readers alike are told that a character has people they care for. They're told a character has a lover, a wife, kids, a family, a sister. We're told the same about Schneider: that she has 11 older siblings, and that she works in the mafia to support them.

However, it's very rarely that we're given a name and a face for these supposed loved ones. And even rarer is it that they're written well, not just as a ploy for empathy, but as their own character: Ladies, gentlemen, and esteemed guests: I present to you, Marian.

Marian is one of my favorite characters just as a stand-alone: she's realistic, she's anxious, she clings to Schneider like a lifeline-- but she's brave, too. I'd love to do an in-depth analysis on her another time, but we're here for another reason.

Marian, first of all, shows us what Schneider's family is like. How they were raised, what they believe in, who they depend on. Soft topic, I know, but as someone of Italian lineage, it's very important to me that I point this out: Marian is extremely religious.

Immigrants of every kind tend to be religious. It gives them much more faith than they ever could have: a new lifeline. They managed to make it across such a winding sea? Oh, thank the lord. They haven't been kicked out of the Americas for emigration? Thank you, holy one. There's so many more reasons for this than "they need something they don't have"- maybe the fact that the rendition of god in every religion is said to love everybody, not just those who were born into wealthy families with the bluest eyes and the blondest hair.

When in a moment with no reason, and all different kinds of desperate measures being needed.. Schneider does what her family coaxes her to. She prays.

I also want to point out a large difference between Schneider and her family: Schneider's perspective on a 'god' differs so, so much from her family's.

She looks to whoever may be above, in her world, scornfully-- at least, in the present day. In her past, there is a particularly impactful line I want to debunk.

"The god there ... loves the world." Schnider's family seems to believe that god was the one guiding them, the one who will forgive them-- Schneider believed that it was a whole different entity. This kid believes that the god in Sicily, whoever they may be, does not love the world-- and mio dio, if that's not fucked up, I don't know what is.

And, when Schneider comes to America and sees that shit isn't as it's cut off to be, she's resentful of whoever this god may be. She gives a pray as her last bet-- what her family wants.

And it's not that she doesn't believe in this god-- no. She just doesn't believe they love her.

"Finally forgive me" -- Finally being the key word here. She's lived all her life never being treated to mercy or being 'forgiven for her sins' -- and at her most fragile, exposed moment, she relents to what her family has taught her. To what she truly believes-- to Sicily, to Marian, her sorella. Maybe even all 11 sorelle and her parents.

And, again, they're different at face value. Marian is calm, kind. She dresses modest and has her hair grown out: she's timid, too, not befitting of a mafia boss. She's different from her younger sister.. but she's still important. She shows us another side of Schneider: and, more importantly, she shows us what-- no, who Schneider is fighting for.

Marian provides us with extremely beneficial background context of where Schneider comes from-- and, in that process, gives many of us someone to empathize with. Yes, I too know somebody at least a little like her. You do too, likely.

Maybe, you're even like Schneider-- maybe she's someone you'd aim to protect.

Skully is the King of Halloween and it is just befitting for him to have a queen just like how Jack has Sally. Many fans of him states here that skully would like a step sister or how he'll like you wearing something in the victorian era (or his era). I've got this idea out of your fic with Riddle with his father-in-law as a toy maker so, what if that's how skully met you? as a porcelain doll that he wouldn't have thought existed.

(I haven't been up to date much with his character but I'll try!) His mother who remarried a doll maker, from clay to wax to cloth he could make any tips but for Skully he has a favorite one, the human sized porcelain doll that his dear step father has made. So pretty, so calm.. surely it was made for him

Skullys been practicing wooing and courting someone with you, you wouldn't judge his shy self, just taking it with a soft smile that he thinks that deep down you were smiling at him, softly laughing as you think he's quite adorable with how he fumbles and stutters, he knew you'd accept him as how he is

But one day he heard that the doll is finally being delivered to the person who has commissioned the doll and he is desperate, what do you mean his doll is being taken away?? he couldn't just take it and hide it in his room and make his dear father who makes his mother happy pay for his mistakes so he volunteers to come with to deliver the doll, giving it a promise that he'd be back to take what's his..

and when they finally arrive at the manor, he stops. he stops and stares at the moving doll beside their customer that mysteriously looks too much like his doll who's in the box.

A Brief History

Taken in from the streets while left in an unresponsive condition, the teenage amnesiac Tobiuo found care in the skilled hands of Lawrence Trafalgar and his legal adoptive guardian, Rosinante Donquixote. It mattered not where this blue Fishwoman came from, nor as to why she cannot speak, but to simply care for her as one would a patient in practicing medicine.

Law was a skilled student, his intellect vastly superior of one of his age, and the two developed an unlikely friendship which carried them both into medical school. Rosinante would go on to take in three more unruly teenagers and provide for them into their adulthood: Bepo, a kind and friendly minkman, Penguin, a dark-haired man with sensitive eyes, and Shachi, a fiery redhead with a short fuse.

The five found friendship with a few more within medical school, which then carried them onto their placements in residency. There is where Tobiuo found an unlikely rapport with the door security of the hospital, Jean Bart. They quickly became gym-buddies, and would enjoy each other's company sparring outside of the hospital grounds.

While Law was a great surgeon, Bepo an amazing nurse in the paediatric department, Penguin a skilled anesthetist, and Shachi a talented ER specialist - Tobiuo found her job in end of life areas. She held the hands of those meeting the end of their time in this life, and would sit calmly and patiently with them while exhaling their last breath.

This is where she met, who she commonly refers to as, 'The Hot Undertaker'.

Heath, who goes by the name 'Heat', was incarcerated for arson as a teenager - taking the fall for the head of his highschool friend group: Eustass Kid. Once out of prison, as he was tried as an adult for the severity of the crime, he found his entire world flipped on its head.

His best friend was in a near fatal car accident, claiming his left arm in the process, which was caused by a head on collision from the infamous crime-lord, Shepherd 'Shanks' of the Red-Haired Mafia. After receiving a large payout for the theft of his arm and in return for his silence, Kid turned his life around by buying a garage outright beside a restaurant where his blonde best friend worked as a line-cook.

Killian and Kid worked in tandem with Wyatt to make a good name for the business before they left to chase their own endeavors. Killian earned the name 'Killer' in highschool for his great feats in sport. Wyatt prefers 'Wire', and will not respond to his given name as he is not fond of it.

Straight out of prison, Heat returned and began sleeping at the Garage and scouring the newspapers and online ads for work. He was a decent welder, and works for Kid when he's short staffed - but being covered in tattoos and with a criminal record, he wanted to ensure Kid's business remained reputable.

One employment that took him on, no questions asked, was becoming a delivery driver for the dearly departed. He liked this job, enjoying the fact they provided him with a good wage, and was pleased by being needed and on call at all hours.

This is where our story begins: Tobiuo handing over the reigns once her work is completed, and Heat falling more for her every time their eyes meet.
