So despite spending weeks working on these tarot-themed cards for @legendlarkpod, I forgot to take my own pictures before I mailed them! Luckily Errol is a gentleman and scholar who documented them after they arrived, so thank you, Postmaster. Sadly, Tumblr is unhappy with the lovely video footage Errol took to show that many of these cards are shiny, so just take my word for it: I used a lot of metallic and shimmery paints!

I’m so excited to finally show off the dice I designed for our annual Patreon gift at Dames and Dragons this year! The process of designing for them was tricky, there were a lot of rules to keep in mind for the spacing and thickness of the lines in the engraving, but I’m so happy with how they turned out! Hopefully patrons will be too!

here it is - my page illustration for @2dames2zine! i will be posting my spot illustration as well but i wanted to give this one its own post so i can be mushy about it. some personal info and tmi below the cut so you can ignore it if you want to

this piece became very personal for me as shortly after i started working on it, my mom passed away. i wont get too much into details but it felt very abrupt because she hadnt told anyone how bad her cancer was getting.

i ended up taking a week off of work to go through her things and start setting up a memorial service. during that time i considered dropping the zine, but ultimately decided not to and im glad i didnt. this piece got me through the worst of that time by giving me an outlet to focus on.

and i think the subject matter helped me, too, completely by accident. i had chosen the composition months beforehand without knowing how strangely poignant it would end up being, lol

this is all stuff that ive kept close to my chest for the past half a year, and i debated even saying anything about it now, but it feels important to me to say so that i can express how thankful i am to the r2fil mods and my fellow contributors. you helped me cope with the worst experience of my life, and you didnt even know it!

and id like to send enormous love to the legendlark crew, without whom none of this would have even been possible. the story you all created means the world to me.

i dont usually share this much on the internet, so thanks for reading if you did

Took me a hot minute, but here's my fic from @2dames2zine ft. art by the talented @cantdance!!!! I've said this in a million places, but I am so proud of the zine and our work on it, especially the mods, and I'm honored to have been a part of it.

Also formally thanking @thistlecrimes for making my entire life with their comments about my fic/the zine.

Finally, thank you to @legendlarkpod for just being the best dang podcast this side of the Mississippi.

i think it's funny that in the brainspace i play with regarding Maeri, whether things go to shit for her or not depend on whether one NPC lives.

I have a tendency to take into account NPCs who died on accident in my playthrough. So, Baurus is dead. So is Jauffre.

This impacts how I write Maeri a lot.

...And I realized that any of the AUs where she doesn't fuck off into Oblivion (literally, in the Shivering Isles,) is an AU where Baurus isn't dead. She can live with Jauffre dying, she can survive Martin dying, but only if she has a close friend who kinda just grabs her and forces her to lean on everyone else as well.

Bc let's be real, the main universe where she fucks off into the Shivering Isles is because she's progressively closed herself off of friendships. She barely knows the other Blades, she was so focused on doing everything she could to help Martin save the world. She just breaks in half by the end of the main story. She travels Cyrodiil's roads with no goal.

in a universe where Baurus lives, she stops to chat more. She takes breaks. She gets to know everyone else in Cloud Ruler Temple. And when everything has gone wrong and the world is saved and her heart is broken, she goes home there, and she has people she can cry with.
