Mirabel's Super Secret Adventure
Movie AU
Chapter Preview: How many secrets were Tío Bruno and Tía Leandra keeping? First the cracks, then Isabela, now this.
Prologue Prev Next Masterlist
7. Things Bruno Doesn't Talk About
Mirabel’s epiphany made her re-examine her wish to keep the cracks to herself. On the one hand, she really kind of wanted to be the person who fixed all this; on the other, if somebody in her family was really in that much pain…
Shouldn’t Mirabel focus on fixing it fast rather than by herself?
Reluctantly, Mirabel decided she would share what she’d learned with Tío Bruno. He, at the very least, would still allow her to help. If she told Abuela she would be thanked for bringing it to her attention, then told to go rest and let somebody else handle it.
After she finished helping her Pá teach Antonio, she headed over to Tío Bruno’s room and knocked on the door. This time, when she didn’t get an answer, she walked in. Tío Bruno had a tent hidden somewhere in the cave system that ran throughout his canyon, so if he wanted privacy he would just hide in his tent. As such, the kids in the family were always allowed to enter his room and hang out in his storytelling tent in the middle of his canyon’s oasis.
Mirabel ducked under his sand curtain and paused on the landing to shake the sand out of her hair. Octavia was down at the bottom of the canyon, using the sand to practice different gazebo designs. She paused halfway through making an octagon shaped gazebo to wave at Mirabel, then got back to work.
“What do you think?” Octavia asked, holding the sand in the shape that she wanted.
“I like the trellis siding,” Mirabel answered.
“Yeah, I don’t know, feels pretty basic,” Octavia frowned, then she grinned and with a few twitches of her fingers, the diamond shaped holes became hearts.
Mirabel frowned at the hearts.
“What? Too much?”
“No uh, it’s just,” she thought about biting her tongue, but shed already told Amada, so she might as well keep flapping her mouth, “Isabela doesn’t want to marry him. She’s doing it for the family. Your Pá has a plan to fix things though.”
“Oh,” Octavia paused, then adjusted the hearts so they were in two parts with a jagged line in between them, “so, that better?”
Mirabel couldn’t help a dry chuckle, “Abuela would blow a gasket.”
Octavia giggled, “Yeah.”
Mirabel watched for a while as her cousin made gazebo after gazebo, each one slowly becoming more extravagant. Eventually Octavia was making entire gazebo palaces. It was a far cry from the sloppy houses she’d made in front of the town’s architect.
Most of the time, she wouldn’t have thought twice about it. A gazebo is a whole lot simpler than a house, after all. But with her mind still buzzing away, looking for problems large enough to cause all those cracks, she found herself eyeing the ease with which Octavia molded the sand.
Now that Mirabel was really thinking about it, Octavia seemed to be ten times better at using her gift whenever Abuela wasn’t watching.
“Octavia?” Mirabel asked, slowly.
“Yep?” Octavia chirped, adding another open air turret to the top of the gazebo's right wing.
“Do you… pretend to be worse at your gift when Abuela is around?”
The gazebo palace collapsed in on itself, Octavia slowly turned towards Mirabel, wide eyed. It was all the confirmation Mirabel needed.
She whispered, “Please don’t tell.”
“I won’t, I won’t, but… why?”
“Because I don’t want to end up like Luisa.”
“Like Luisa-? Oh.”
Octavia jerked her shoulders in a shrug, “By the time she was my age, she was already working eight hours a day. Now she doesn’t even get to finish breakfast half the time.”
Mirabel slowly nodded, to show that she’d heard her, then drifted over to the story telling tent. She entered the dimly lit haven and sat down on one of the many floor cushions. The tent flap opened, letting unfiltered light in, then closed and Octavia sat next to her, fiddling with a rock.
There was a long period of contemplative silence.
“Are you happy?” Mirabel eventually asked. Was anyone in their family truly happy?
“I am,” Octavia said, smiling a little, “although, sometimes I feel a bit guilty for hiding what I can do from everybody.”
“So everyday, when you practice with Tía Leandra?”
“We mostly just play around, experiment with my gift and stuff,” Octavia shrugged, “I am actually learning about architecture, I do want to make houses, but I want to be a kid first. You know?”
“When did you start pretending?”
“Pretty much immediately,” Octavia floated the rock in the palm of her hand and began running it through different shapes, “Má has always been-. The first thing I learned was all the ways to make a house poorly, right? Long run it means when I want to make a house well, I just don’t do any of the things I’d do to make it bad. Short term, I know exactly how to make it look like I don’t know what I’m doing.”
“And Tía Leandra has been helping you lie? This whole time?”
“It was my parents’ idea,” Octavia admitted, “well, I think it was Pá’s, but he’s not great at the whole, sneaky subterfuge thing, so Má has been handling it. Oh! Since you know now, you wanna see the Eiffel Tower?”
“Sure,” Mirabel said, faintly, mind still reeling. How many secrets were Tío Bruno and Tía Leandra keeping? First the cracks, then Isabela, now this.
Tío Bruno had said his gift meant he knew a bunch of stuff that wasn’t technically his business, even Amada had learned things through her limited sight that weren’t hers to tell. Dolores was the same way, she knew everything about everyone, and barely ever said a word. As Mirabel followed Octavia back out to the dessert portion of the canyon bottom, she wondered what her life would have been like if she had gotten a gift. Specifically a gift that made her privy to information she wasn’t meant to know.
Would she keep so many secrets too?
“Ok, so! The trick is to lift all the sand up then shape it as it falls,” Octavia said brightly, lifting what must have been a ton or two of sand, she tilted her head, “hold on, that’s a little too much.”
She separated out some of the sand and dumped it, then examined her giant sand cloud. She grinned and nodded and began releasing the sand a little at a time.
“I have to be careful to remember all the big clumps at the top, there’s rooms and stuff up there you know,” Octavia continued to narrate, glancing excitedly at Mirabel every few minutes to make sure she was paying attention, “and then I gotta make all the cross beams. On all four sides, too. See! Then I used to put this part that all the people can stand on half way down, but it’s more like a quarter of the way up. Riiiiiiiiight there! Now the legs are nice and thick, but if I make them too thick it looks really cartoony, so it’s got to be just the right level of thick. And ta-da! The Eiffel Tower!”
She held the tower steady with one raised hand and put the other one on her hip, grinning broadly at Mirabel.
“It’s amazing,” she told her, honestly. Because it was. The tower was about as tall as Tío Bruno’s canyon, and molded with such precision that Mirabel could make out all the little rivets, bolts, and screws holding it together.
“Yeah, I’m really good at this,” Octavia allowed the sand to fall in a controlled implosion, then turned back to Mirabel, “Sometimes I wish I could show off, you know? But I know the second I do I’ll pretty much just be Luisa the Sequel. Má and Pá always do a good job of acting impressed with me, and so do Amada and Gabe.”
“Wait, Gabe knows? And he hasn’t-?”
“Tattled? Of course not, you think he wants the townspeople treating one of his precious baby sisters the way they treat Luisa? Hell, if he could figure out how to get people to back off Luisa, he would.”
“Hold on, am I literally the last to know how overworked Luisa is?”
“Nah, pretty sure that’ll be Luisa herself,” Octavia lifted more sand and started making a statue of the family instead, “and your Má doesn’t know because she’s always working too, and Isabela doesn’t know because she’s always practicing being perfect, and Camilo doesn’t know because he’s always babysitting or entertaining the villagers, and I don’t think Tío Agustín or Tío Félix know because they got so many chores to do around the house.”
“But your parents know,” Mirabel filled in, “and they told you three?”
“Not really, Gabe noticed it by himself, and Má might have noticed it and told Pá. Or Pá told Má when he had that vision. I don’t know. But that’s how Amada and I found out, we saw Pá’s vision-. Wait… I maybe shouldn’t tell you about that.”
“What vision?”
“Um, nothing, no vision. Pá doesn’t have visions, he can’t even see!”
“Octavia, what vision?!”
She waved her hand and suddenly the sand gathered around her in a windowless dome. Mirabel tried digging into the sand, but it actively resisted her hands.
“Octavia!”
The dome didn’t budge.
Eventually, Mirabel put her hands on her hips and looked up towards Tío Bruno’s vision cave. She could barely see it from her place on the ground. Tío Bruno said that it got taller and taller every year, but had slowed down ever since he had started giving weekly story time to the kids.
Climbing up there was still the worst.
Which was exactly why Mirabel suspected that was where he stored any visions he didn’t want anyone to see. Nobody climbed up those stairs unless they had to. Tío Bruno had a secret passageway up there, but, well it was a secret passageway, not a well known passageway.
So, leaving the dome behind, Mirabel made her way to the stairs. She took a few deep breaths, then started the long journey up to the vision cave.
About halfway up, Mirabel wondered if she really needed to see this vision. It was about Luisa after all, not her. It probably wasn’t any of her business.
However, it might be connected to the cracks.
Or, it might give Mirabel some way to help her older sister.
Granted, if the vision could help Luisa in any way, Tío Bruno had probably already tried. But Mirabel would bet good money that the vision was about whatever warning Luisa had been ignoring. Maybe if she knew what was coming, she could give Luisa an extra push.
Three quarters of the way up, Mirabel paused to take a few more deep breaths, hands on her hips.
Almost there, she told herself, almost.
Steeling herself, she kept going.
She had to stop for another breather before crossing the bridge. If telling stories to kids had made the stairs slow in their growth, they needed to start making him tell stories once a day, then the stairs might actually shrink.
The bridge was thin, and felt pretty rickety. It was two lines of wooden planks side by side, suspended by some rough rope. Mirabel was just grateful there was a safety line on either side.
Carefully, Mirabel crossed the bridge, gritting her teeth as it swayed beneath her. She didn’t want to go too fast, but she definitely didn’t linger.
Mirabel could count on one hand all the times she’d been up here. And most of them were before the bridge had slimmed down to its current state. Usually when Tío Bruno gave personal visions, only he and Tía Leandra would come up. If he was giving one of his showy visions about fun stuff, he generally did it in the old river bed, so he could make the sand whirlwind as big as it needs to be to hold everybody in attendance.
As she entered the corridor to the actual cave, her eyes roved over the carvings on the wall. There were shelves full of incense and herbs, and a few vision tablets she recognized as being some of his favorite visions.
None of them featured Luisa.
Next, Mirabel eyed the big circular door. It looked heavy, but when she got her hands on the door knob, it swung open easily enough.
The cave beyond was about as dark as she expected, and, unsurprisingly, filled with sand. The only thing in the room other than sand and stone was a locked trunk. Mirabel propped the door open and walked over to the trunk, kneeling in front of it. The lock was a simple padlock, an old thing with a keyhole.
Mirabel glanced over her shoulder, then reached into her bag. She pulled out two of her thickest embroidery needles and began working at the lock.
Not that Mirabel had any experience with lock picking, of course. She had never ever, for random example, broken into a cupboard Abuela had hidden the good scissors in, or anything like that. It was purely beginner's luck that allowed Mirabel to open the padlock within minutes.
She placed the lock aside and opened the trunk. Sitting inside were three visions, stacked on top of eachother. The first was clearly very old and showed a much younger Tía Leandra wearing very little clothing; Mirabel wrinkled her nose and put that one aside. Underneath it was a vision showing Luisa standing by her pool, easily hefting Mariano over the water with one hand, and Dolores with the other. They were all laughing.
Mirabel cocked her head, she couldn’t think of a single reason why this vision would be hidden. Carefully, she picked it up, but when she held it up and changed the angle, the vision shifted to a much less cheerful image.
Instead, Luisa was now standing among rubble, clearly struggling to lift a section of wall off a crate.
Mirabel gasped as she started shifting the tablet back and forth, watching the happy scene appear and disappear.
Was Luisa going to lose her gift? Why?
Tío Bruno had apparently been telling Luisa she needed to relax, but how could her not relaxing lead to her gift going away?
And what was with the rubble?
Mirabel dropped the vision into her lap, staring into the middle distance. For a few seconds, all she could do was blink dumbly into nothing, trying to figure out what this vision meant. Then something caught her eye.
Was that her?
Slowly, heart beating in her ears, Mirabel reached into the trunk and pulled out the last vision. It was like the one of Luisa, if she held it one way, Mirabel was standing in front of a perfectly intact Casita, if she tilted it the other, Casita was falling to pieces behind her.
This must be how Tío Bruno found out about the cracks. This must be the vision he had that told them Mirabel had miracle magic for emergencies. Mirabel had always assumed the vision showed her fixing whatever was broken, that it ended with a happy image. This vision didn’t look happy, it didn’t even look certain.
She hadn’t even considered the thought that she might not succeed. That she might not fix the cracks. Of course she would, this was Encanto, and she was a Madrigal. Mirabel couldn’t let her familia or the village down.
Suddenly she remembered Dolores’ words of warning, “If you can’t live up to the village’s expectations” she had trailed off but the implication had been that you would end up like Tío Bruno. Hated by many, and blamed for things beyond your control.
After a few seconds of thought, she put the other two visions back, but kept the one about her.
Mirabel re-locked the trunk and hurried out of the cave, closing it behind her. She walked across the bridge as quickly as she dared, and had to struggle to keep herself from running down the stairs. When she was halfway down, she noticed that there were two more people standing at the bottom of the canyon.
Tío Bruno and Tía Leandra.
When they looked up and saw her they both smiled, Tío Bruno raising his hand to wave at her. Then they must have noticed the vision in her hand because Tía Leandra visibly grimaced and Tío Bruno’s hand stopped mid-wave.
To their credit, when she got to them, neither of them bothered to lecture her about snooping.
“I hope that’s not the one of me,” Tía Leandra said, Tío Bruno sent her a look, but she just flashed her cheekiest grin at him and he melted.
“I am honestly trying to forget I saw that, thanks,” Mirabel said.
“I uh I’m guessing that one is-,” Bruno rubbed nervously at his arm.
In answer, Mirabel held up the vision so they could see, “How do I fix things?”
The two adults exchanged a look, but didn’t respond. Octavia leaned as far forward as she could without losing her balance to see the tablet, then frowned, brows wrinkled.
“Do I, I don’t know, pray at the candle? Hug everybody in the family? What? How do I heal the cracks?”
“What cracks?” Octavia cut in. She must have been standing at an angle from which Casita was intact.
“The cracks in the walls,” Mirabel answered, eyes fixed on her Tío, “he’s been patching them for years but they keep growing.”
“You saw the cracks?” Tía Leandra looked a little more surprised then Mirabel would have expected.
“How’d you get past the hole?” Tío Bruno cocked his head.
“I used a ladder to climb down, walked across, then climbed back up.”
“A ladder…? We have a ladder that long?”
“Yeah, it’s not even ten feet deep.”
“Oh.”
They both stared at her in silence for a second.
“Bruno, darling?”
“Sí mi amor?”
“We might be stupid.”
“Sí mi amor.”
Mirabel lifted the tablet again, opening her mouth to insist Tío Bruno tell her more about his vision, but was cut off when Bruno’s door opened and Camilo’s voice bounced off the canyon walls, “Time for dinner!”

Encanto Big Bang Sneak Peek
My Encanto Big Bang Project: A Sneak Peek!
@encantobigbang is the Big Bang account, go check it out <3
I saw a couple of people do this, and thought I might as well too! Seems fun and all...I hope you enjoy this :)
Isabela and Julieta Madrigal-centric! Or--well...only Isabela, since this is but a snipplet 😭
NOT BETA READ!!
Tuesdays never lets me down, Isabela Madrigal mused as she inspected her fingers. It was a devilish hour when no one should be awake (and she knew she shouldn’t, either). I hope this one isn’t an exception. It should be nice and easy and smooth.
It was quiet at dawn, barely even a bird awake, and Isabela was alone with her thoughts. She swung her legs over to the side of the bed, sighing to no particular person. She knew she would hate herself in the morning, but she couldn’t care less in the moment—besides, she knew even if she tried, she’d already stayed awake for too long that she couldn’t fall back asleep.
Isabela liked the mornings, or more like this particular hour at the crack of dawn when the sun starts peeking out from the horizon, because it’s deathly quiet and lonely. The Night Owls (Camilo, she knew—Dolores, maybe? She felt a stab of sorrow when she realized she no longer knew her best friend like the back of her hand) finally go to sleep, and the Early Birds (Luisa, Mirabel, Julieta…Isabela frowned at the thoughts, the expression creasing her features in a way it shouldn’t, but she allowed it to, only in this moment) were still tucked in bed. She wouldn’t risk getting caught (or at least, she’d never been caught), and only then would she allow herself a little bit of freedom. A crack in the golden cage, but it would be sealed tight again when the clock strikes. Isabela thought of Cinderella and her luxuries made of glass. Fragile. Breakable. Far too risky. But Cinderella sought them out anyways, and Isabela did, too.
Her eyes wandered over to one of her shelves she’d managed to keep, high up, shrouded by the sickening pink flowery curtains, a space that belongs to her, and her only. A rare piece of luxury she has, a little rebellion, enough to make her breath hitch with guilt and jump at every little sound.
She knew it could not last forever. She knew she’d have to take it down sooner or later. She’s engaged, afterall. She knew she could not fool and drown herself in childish denial forever. But it was her hour, and she let Isabela Madrigal worry about these things. For now she is herself, and only herself.
She reached out and her fingers, long and graceful and perfect, grazed across the sewn sides of a plushie. She must admit shamefully that over the years she’d taken a liking towards these toys that are supposed to only appeal to children (or at least, definitely not supposed to let perfect young ladies fall for their charm). It reminded her of a childhood that was far away and slightly blurry, like a dream you can’t quite reach. She could remember the sounds and the textures as clearly as though they had happened yesterday.
Rain and the grass, a mischievous duo that tickled at children and hurried them along, laughing and stumbling and chasing each other. The wind picking up and sweeping toddlers off their feet, but there were grins on their faces. Falling face-first into the puddles, as the rain dropped from heaven, staining their dresses but erasing all troubles from their minds.
There were the exasperated adults, of course, who picked them up by their collars and forearms. They were still giggling madly, and the rain laughed along with them. The next day they would pick carnations from the fields as though nothing had happened.
A long gone past, sounding more and more like a dream until Isabela Madrigal was convinced it is her imagination. She believed, though. That one day she would smell the rain and the mud again, and maybe they would welcome her home as well, despite how much she’d changed.
#encanto big bang#encantobigbang#isabela madrigal#julieta madrigal#julieta my also beloved#anyways the entire cool family <33#isabela madrigal needs a hug#julieta madrigal needs a hug#fluff#light angst#encanto

-She doesn’t snore but her breathing is very powerful, like listening to ocean waves
-Doesn’t really collect a whole bunch of stuffed animals, but has this one teddy bear from when she was little that she could never get rid of and she sleeps with it when she needs it
Isabela
-Won’t admit it but has the WORST case of snoring in the whole family.
-Sleeps super sprawled out with her limbs going in literally every direction

Julieta Madrigal SFW Alphabet (Fem!Reader)
A/N: This is my first time posting anything on here so I genuinely have no idea what I'm doing but I'll figure it out along the way.
PS- Agustín kicked the bucket in this universe. Sorry brother. Mostly inspired by Moon_calvary's Por Amor Al Arte on AO3.
A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)
As one would expect, she's a very affectionate person. Kisses and hugs are your daily bread with this woman. She also does not mind public displays of affection, in fact she welcomes it. Whether that be holding hands, hugging each other from behind when you spot one another around Encanto etc. Short answer: she adores physical affection.
B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)
Given how many people she sees on a daily basis, I would say her first 'encounter' with a probable close friend has to be someone who caught her eye. A creative type of person: artist, singer, somone who plays an instrument, something along those lines. I believe she'd have watched you in passing when she spotted you out of the corner of her eye, and began to look forward to seeing you around. Then inevitably when you wound up at her table because you got injured, she striked up a small conversation. Ever since, whenever you see each other you'd talk for a bit until you became closer with each meeting. When you started meeting more frequently, you'd learn that she has so much to offer as a person; her humor, her talents besides cooking and what not. You'd begin to know Julieta Madrigal as a person.
C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)
She loves cuddles, no more needs to be said. If she's had an especially rough day, she likes cuddling into your chest at night while you play with her hair. She also returns them in excess: she'll rub your back while she cuddles you, hum sweet songs into your ear or just talk about her day until you fall asleep and/or feel better. However she likes being on the receiving end more.
D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)
Given what happened with Agustín, I'd say she would want to wait a while before resettling but it's not a definite no, she just needs time to readjust even if she wants you with every fibre of her being. Do I really need to say anything about her cooking? Well, I will anyway. Her food has a flavour that no other could replicate. The love and care she puts into each dish is potent and makes them all the more better for it. As for cleaning: she has a magical house so I assume that Casita deals with most of the cleaning other than the dishes. In that case, she's a master dish washer. Never seen dishes as spick and span as hers.
E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)
She'd let them down easily. She obviously won't break up with someone without a good reason so she would make sure to go into detail about why the relationship wasn't working out. And if nothing is their fault, she would make sure and reassure them of that.
F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)
Like I said above: not too quick to remarry. She wouldn't mind getting engaged, but the marriage might have to wait a bit. The fact that her girls and entire family practically adores you though, does make her want to do it sooner rather than later.
G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)
Her touches are as soft as they come. They feel like silk on your skin while her warmth encapsulates you like a blanket on a rather cold night, and when you touch her it's as if she's melting right into you. As for emotionally, she just as gentle, if not more. When she's overwhelmed she'll quitely come to your side and rest her head on your shoulder and play with your fingers or just keep her hands somewhere on your person to ground herself and if you spot her not looking quite like herself, you'll take her somewhere quiet. When it's you, she'll spot the signs of emotional distress immediately and come to your side, to offer verbal or non verbal comfort depending on how the mood is and like you, take you to where you find it most peaceful.
H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)
Like I established before: she adores physical affection and hugs are no stranger to her or you. She'll hug you everyday before you leave after helping her set up her table- or if you can't make it, before she leaves casita. She loves it when you hug her from behind and give her a kiss on her cheek, which you then have to lean down for her to reciprocate because you're a few inches taller. When she's cooking and waiting to flip her arepas, she'll wipe her hands and snap you out of your daze of admiration by trapping you in a gentle yet equally tight hug and places a small kiss on your nose. Her hugs are as soft as can be. Her body heat spills onto you like a warm bath and when her chest meets yours, it's the best feeling you can think of as she rests her head on the crook of your neck.
I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)
Actually saying that she loves you took some time but before that she would call you mi amor and all other sorts of nicknames. However, after she was able to tell you about her feelings for the first time, I love you became a daily mantra that you would chant to each other.
J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)
She's truly not an inherently jealous person. But she does feel a twinge of jealousy when men approach you and begin to shamelessly flirt with you when you're at her table, or if she sees another woman outside her family getting a little too touchy with you when you aren't that well acquainted.
K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)
Her kisses are divine and feather like to the touch. Her lips are soft and warm much like the rest of her and are always coated with a sweet and savoury taste. From the moment she spots you- you get a kiss on the cheek, forehead, nose; you get the point. Her favourite place to kiss you though is your lips and a close second are the back of your palms. Her most favourite place to be kissed is her neck. But if you ask her, she loves your kisses no matter where they are.
L = Little ones (How are they around children?)
She raised six. The woman definitely knows what she's doing if what her daughters, niece and nephews say are anything to go by. Children also seem to adore her by default.
M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)
She usually ends up waking up before everyone to prepare breakfast and her daily medicinal food. However, you don't take too long to wake up after she does, missing her warmth and by the time she's preparing clothes to wear after she showers, you're awake- so you shower and get dressed together. You help her prepare breakfast on most mornings and wash the dishes while keeping her company until the rest of the family starts to come down stairs. Then you help her pack everything and take it to her table so she can start her daily healing.
N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)
Nights are sometimes spent in a similar fashion. After you two prepare dinner, sometimes she would start experimenting with new recipes and you'd be her taste tester. Other times, you'd shower and get ready for bed together. You'd talk about your days, read a book to each other, or just lie there in comfortable silence. Nonetheless, your nights together are tranquil.
O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)
After a few weeks of knowing you, she'd open up to you about the stress of being the only healer in the village and the despair of losing her husband. However, she always spread them out in lengthy intervals at first, not wanting to make every conversation heavy. After you two got closer, she started to find a good balance with voicing her worries and concerns.
P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)
She's an extremely patient person and it takes a lot to anger her. But if you manage to get her genuinely angry...you screwed up big time.
Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)
She remembers every thing you tell her, little or big. Your birthday? She knows. She even knows the time you were born and you don't even remember even though you told her. What colour you like? She knows. Your favourite scent? Of course she knows. Your least favourite animal. Yeah, she knows.
R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)
Her most cherished moment with you would be the moment she finally admitted she wanted to be yours and she wanted you to be hers. She remembers every detail of it. Where it happened, the look in your eyes, the scent of your hair when she leaned into kiss you for the first time, the feel of your heartbeat on her palm as she rested it on your chest, the tears, everything. She holds it close to her soul.
S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)
Don't let her soft nature fool you, she will get defensive for you if need be. She'd very politely yet subtly warn others not to cross her path when it comes to you. As for you, you're less subtle and polite about it and will scrap with someone if they even tried to say or do something to her if you had to. But because you know she's not much of a confrontational person, you'll excuse yourselves and take her gently by her hand to somewhere that she feels safe and hold her tight. However, according to her- anywhere's safe when she's with you.
T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)
No matter what she does, she gives it her absolute all. Especially when it comes to you. You get new gifts from her often. Remember when I said she remembers your favourite scent and colour? Yeah, she asks Isabela to grow the flowers so she can make you scented candles and perfumes. She and Mirabel even sew dresses for you in your favourite colour, while Luisa helps her mamá find new places she can take you on dates. When anniversaries roll around, be prepared for a feast and I mean a feast.
U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)
She tends to bottle things up until she eventually can't take it anymore. While she's way more open with you than before, that bad habit seems to linger. And though you don't have any issues with comforting her during a break down, you wish she would let you know about these things earlier so you can help. She also bites her nails and lips when she's anxious.
V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)
While modest, she knows she has a nice figure and equally nice features. But as she ages, she seems to get a little more self conscious- however you're always there to make her feel like the most beautiful woman in the world and she loves you for that and more.
W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)
It scared her at first to think how dependant she had become on you. The thought of you leaving in any sense of the word terrifies her to no return and if you leave her like Agustín did, she doesn't know if she'll be able to put those broken pieces back together again.
X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)
She likes to sing when she has time to spare. She even writes songs from time to time but she's too shy to share them with anyone, except you of course.
Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)
She doesn't like people who are plain rude. She also doesn't like when people are crass and say crude things in the midst of a regular conversation when she doesn't even know them.
Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)
She mumbles a bit in her sleep and sometimes pulls the blanket away from you. She also somehow manages to feel if you move a little and pull you right back towards her so she can keep snuggling against your chest.

LOVE LANGUAGES !!
ENCANTO KIDS !!
characters included: mirabell madrigal, camilo madrigal, luisa madrigal, dolores madrigal, isabela madrigal
this is in terms of RECEIVING, not GIVING, if this is liked enough i might do another :)
MIRABELL MADRIGAL: quality time
most may think mirabell’s love language would be words of affirmation - considering her family didn’t give her that for most of the movie,
but imo she puts her family and lover into two separate categories, and she doesn’t expect the same thing from each.
and plus, she does like affirmations like “i’m proud of you” not so much “you’re stunning” (as much as she does appreciate it, she would just explode lmfao)
she likes living in the moment with her partner, and it doesn’t matter what they’re talking about, or what they’re doing. it’s a breathe of fresh air - and she needs a lot of it sometimes - especially when she’s stressed.
she loves any kind of love her partner gives, but quality time means the most to her :)
overall rating:
quality time: 10/10
words of affirmation: 9.5/10
gift giving: 7.5/10
acts of service: 6/10
physical touch: 5.5/10
CAMILO MADRIGAL: physical touch
i think the main reason camilo is so into physical touch is becuz this boy CANNOT keep his hands to himself (well, he can, but only if he has to.)
i feel like he’s not a huge fan of words of affirmation and acts of service, he’ll enjoy them coming from u, but there not his favorites.
he doesn’t need words of affirmations becuz he already thinks he’s amazing lol. like you’d go “camilo, ur awesome.” and he’d be like “ik sweetheart, ty for the reminder.”
he also wants to show you how manly he is so he is big on doing acts of service for u, but not so much the other way around. XD
gift giving (or ig receiving in this case) and quality time are something he loves, but physical touch still is at the top.
this bitch is a damn love machine, so he’ll take from u and give anything to u.
overall rating:
quality time: 8.5/10
words of affirmation: 7/10
gift giving: 9/10
acts of service: 6/10
physical touch: 10/10
LUSIA MADRIGAL: words of affirmation
lusia goes through a lot of stress - even after the events of the movie (imo.)
so hearing a simple “your doing great today!” or a “i’m proud of you” makes her cheeks swell from smiling.
she also really appreciated acts of service becuz of this!
she loves gifts, but she feels bad about u spending money on her😭🥹
on top of all this, she loooves physical touch. she loves giving headpats lol. and she loves receiving hugs and kisses, hand kisses will be the death of her heheheheheh
overall rating:
quality time: 7.5/10
words of affirmation: 11/10 !! lol
gift giving: 7/10
acts of service: 10/10
physical touch: 9/10
DOLORES MADRIGAL: receiving gifts
gifts - big or small, mean the absolute world to dolores! to her, it shows you cared enough to 1: buy her something and 2: pay attention to what she likes. and she’s all for it!
your family doesn’t have much money? no biggie! she love’s physical touch too. hand kisses, holding her hips, and playing with her hair are her favorites :) are this things small? yes. but does she love small gestures? also yes.
words of affirmation she also loves, but the appearance based one’s rllyyyy get to her. “you look like stunning today.” or “i love your smile.” are the kind of things she loves :)
quality time doesn’t mean to much to her - as she can always hear her partner anyway. but don’t take that as she doesn’t wanna see you at all, because it’s quite the opposite!
she likes doing acts of service for her partner, and not so much the other way around, just becuz she likes having the feeling of doing something and crossing it off a list.
overall rating:
quality time: 6.5/10
words of affirmation: 9.5/10
gift giving: 10/10
acts of service: 5/10
physical touch: 9/10
ISABELA MADRIGAL: acts of service
home girl can get stressed out - just like the rest of her family, and she really appreciates when it’s taken off of her shoulders.
she really enjoys massages - so physical touch is smth she enjoys.
words of affirmation are sorta different for her, she wants to hear “you’re not perfect, but that’s what i love about u.” or “trying your best is all u can do, don’t push urself.” yk?
isabela enjoys receiving gifts, but it’s not always the way she likes to feel loved, but she cherishes everything u can give her like a diamond🫶
she likes quality time as well - but i can imagine her being busy a lot so sometimes it isn’t always so easy.
overall rating:
quality time: 7/10
words of affirmation: 8.5/10
gift giving: 6.5/10
acts of service: 10/10
physical touch: 8/10
hey heyyy
i hope y’all enjoyed!
if u wanna request smth go for it!!
if there’s anything offensive/inaccurate here feel free to lmk🫶
love yaaa!! <3

Luisa Headcanons
Luisa Valeria (Prudence, Ladder, Purple Child, Isa II, Master of merging with the floor, Giant) Rojas Madrigal. Born 14th of November 1930
Childhood
Was a really big baby. To the point people assumed Julieta was pregnant with twins/saying consolations when she said she got only one child.
Refused to accept help while walking
Daddy's girl + Félix's favourite niece.
Was very excited to be a big sister back in the time. Partly because of how often Isabela teased her. It was such a delight not to be the baby sister anymore!
She and Pepa have an ongoing competition of the biggest black coffee drinker in the world. And it doesn't seem to ever stop.
Luisa was very physically active even prior her ceremony. Probably did all the types of exercises
Loved Mirabel a bit way too much. She didn't want to stop hugging her no matter what. The only way Julieta and Agustín could convince her to let go was the fact that Mirabel needed time to eat and sleep to be full of energy to match Luisa.
There was no chance in the world anyone (aside from Isabela after getting messy and Pepa) could match her energy.
She probably did some chores in the village even prior her ceremony. Nothing too hard, usually she helped only to people who actually were weak to carry their things themselves.
Just like with Isabela, Luisa would fall into overworking at some point even without Mirabel's failed ceremony. It had really just speeded it up
Adult years pre-movie
Had a lot of muscle pains from overworking.
Grew really distant with almost the entire family. She loved them, but didn't exactly had time to squeeze relationship into her schedule.
A natural protector of the family. Luisa often felt anxious of what would happen if she failed to defend her family
Had helped with preparing for sport competitions when she was in school. Probably also was a judge several times. She was forbidden to competete herself because of her gift.
Enjoys dancing, one of the best in her family.
Vents to the donkeys from time to time
Doesn't really like physical violence and feels guilty if she lets agression slip, but she will kill anyone who dare to harm people she cares about without a second thought.
Takes a lot of snacks whenever she helps Julieta. (Or technically only one snack which is a whole plate swallowed in a minute). But she doesn't really get distracted to eat otherwise.
Eats the most in the family, taking her size and amount of physical work.
Post-movie
In the first month or so during rebuilding of the Casita Luisa was getting more injuries than the rest of the family combined. Including her dad. The reason behind it is because her gift made her forget of what normal human limits are.
She still tends to forget about it to be honest. Camilo once asked to help him train to gain muscle mass to impress boys. Luisa gave him workout that professional athletes would find hard, and then was surprised when Camilo fell flat from exhaustion.
The fact that Isabela stepped on protective ground too helped Luisa with anxiety way more than they both realize. As now Luisa feels that even if she fails to protect her family, somebody else will back her up.
Gets a turn into construction. She helps both with hard physical tacks and projecting or choosing the spot where it would stand without leaning anywhere.
Sometimes Luisa forgets about breaks and healthy schedule too. It's a matter of habit that won't break in one moment. So there were ocassions when Luisa unintentionally slipped into overworking, but it bever lasted longer than two days.
Still prefers simple and practical clothes, but allows more embodery/small trims on it. Especially in days when she's not doing hard manual labor.
The family (Mainly the rest of grandkids) has sort of a competition game where they try to bribe Luisa to let them use shower in her room. (Mirabel was banned because of favouritism)
Relationship:
Alma: Luisa is probably the most comfortable around her Abuela out of her sisters in the beginning. As a huge part of her trauma came from the town rather than from Abuela herself like it happened with Isabela and Mirabel. Not to say it was perfect. Luisa was getting mentally ready each time Alma called her for something, as it used to be only to give her some chores before. But out of the cold sisters she's definitely the easiest one to get close to Alma and forgive her.
Pepa: They actually have way more of close traits that people tend to take into account. Both are extremely physically active and can't rest for ten minutes, very loud and tend to quickly snap and then feel bad for it right after. Pepa enjoys having someone with whom she can let her weather loose without being afraid to cause any serious harm. And Luisa loves challenge that her Tía's weather can provide.
Bruno: Strange. They weren't very close prior his leaving, but Luisa didn't have any ill feelings about her uncle. She just finds it strange to meet him after ten years of separation. (Fiveteen if you count when he started to isolate himself)
Julieta: Julieta puts an eye on Luisa to make sure she doesn't overwork herself again, she sometimes would leave to get Luisa to eat her lunch when her daughter is too excited to stop herself.
Agustín: They both are trying to make up for the years when Luisa couldn't spend much time with her dad. I imagine both of them having Father-Daughter day every once in a while where they just help eachother with work and show cool stuff.
Félix: Pretty close. They find it ironic of how close their birthdays are, believe me, they will jome about it all the time. Félix admires Luisa's loyalty and how hardworking and determibed she is. Luisa loves her always cheerful and optimistic uncle. Félix also tells Luisa some rips that help Pepa to deal with anxiety.
Dolores: They aren't really getting along well. Luisa is an antonym to the word quiet, and Dolores dislikes physical work. So they aren't close for the most of the time. Not to say they hate eachother. But both would prefer to spend time with literally anybody else
Camilo: Two theatre kids. Just like with Pepa, Luisa tends to be a bit competetive with him, they will race down the stairs together and llay football. Camilo probably sees her as a cool big sister. After all, if the oldest and youngest kids are close, why shouldn't be the middles?
Mirabel: Luisa adores her sister. Literally. Bow that she doesn't have to work this much anymore, they can return to their roots of toddler Luisa refusing to let her Mamá to hold Mirabel. They also relair their relationship easier that Isabela and Mirabel. Noth because they weren't arguing amd because they were closer prior Mirabel's ceremony.
Antonio: Just like Isabela, Luisa had probably barely interacted with Antonio because of her age and how busy she was. But two animal lovers are bound to get along.

Yandere Isabela Madrigal x Willing Male!Reader
She’s always been under a lot of pressure to be perfect by Senora Madrigal and lashes out whenever in private so that she won't scare anyone away when you saw she lashed out the first time you feel hard for the nature-incarnated girl. When you’re around her alone as she vents her anger and frustration, you’re holding her in a cave behind the waterfall hugging her tightly in comfort, and kissing her whenever you can.
As her 7ft tall Greek god body boyfriend who’s loyal to her and her alone, she feels secure and comfortable knowing that you’ll protect her and everyone else and love her fiercely as she loves you. Sure that love potion didn’t work on you because you were already in love with her at 16yrs old just having a growth spurt from 5ft5 to 6ft7. The potion itself was difficult to make when abuela and the villagers were watching her whenever she was helping around to make everything pretty and perfect.
Isabela always noticed you, sure you were not originally from Encanto on how you treated her like a normal woman and everyone around you, but it didn’t matter at the time as you were 14yrs old, with your mother expecting another baby, and your father carrying her in bridle style. All three of you were covered in blood, sweat, and dirt, but you were covered in it more. Your front was covered in blood and rips in your shirt showed off your scars and muscles from obvious training and fighting, something about how you were covered in filth made you more attractive in her eyes.
Like those main love interests that sweep the main damsels off their feet in the novels she reads. Isabela knew right then and there that both of you are going to become husband and wife till death do you part and it didn't matter if she had to get her hands dirty to have you all to herself. There's a need to get along with your family, and it's important to get to know her future in-laws after all she knows how much your parents and fraternal twins see her as a family when they accepted her for her flaws.
Isabela remembered when she 'accidentally' got your shirt soaked and had to take it off of your body to ring most of the water out, she was 18 and you were 19. No matter how many times you go shirtless she'll always be openly checking you out with no shame, she traces your scars and kissed them like she's healing the scars with her love. Now here you both are hiding sweaty in a cave with you naked and Isabela wearing your giant of a shirt, cuddling and smiling with you after taking each other virginities'. The thought that runs through her mind is that she hopes that abuela thinks that you knocked her up so that you can marry her, while in her thoughts you slipped your families engagement ring on her ring finger

...He raised his eyebrows in surprise at that. Favorite people? Was he included on that list? Julieta just smiled and turned back to the dishes. It took Bruno a moment, but he also slowly resumed his duties, finding he couldn't put away the little smile on his own face that had arrived at the thought that he might be someone's favorite.
I drew from my fic La Traes again for @encantober-official Day 2 - siblings. This scene is a little exchange that happens between the triplets--the OG siblings. You can find the whole thing below the cut.
“You need to get out of the house, hermanito,” Julieta had said to him gently one evening after dinner as they washed dishes together. “It’s…been a while, sí?”
“Eso se queda corto,” Pepa had mumbled as she dumped some more dishes into the soapy water, earning a glare from both of her siblings. [ That's an understatement.] She widened her eyes at them as if to say What? Am I wrong?
“I’m just saying ,” Julieta continued, pointedly moving past Pepa’s comment, “that it might do you some good, to have a little more change of scenery.”
“I-I think I’m doing just fine,” he replied a bit defensively. And he did. He went for walks with Dolores around the perimeter of Casita, down to the river where it ran past the southwest edge of the grassy lawn. Sometimes he’d wander out back behind the house, napping in the afternoon sun before it disappeared behind the mountainous wall that guarded the back of their home. Compared to the previous ten years, he was a veritable expeditionist now.
“Of course you are,” Pepa said, putting an arm around his shoulders. He hunched them in response, glancing at her suspiciously.
“Y-yeah?”
“Yeah! You’ve made it to the edge of the grass! That’s like, what, un kilómetro cuadrado, yeah? A completely normal amount of space for a person to exist in.”
[One square kilometer.] Bruno’s frown deepened. “You’re mocking me.”
Pepa winked at him.
“A-alright, alright,” he said, waving his hands in the air beside his head in surrender. “I’ll, uh, I'll go to the banana fields tomorrow. As long as it’s not a harvest day,” he added, pointing a finger at Julieta, who rolled her eyes good-naturedly at him. “Or an irrigation day. Or you know…a-a day with other, um, other people there.”
The busyness of rebuilding Casita last year had given him enough social interaction outside his immediate family to last him quite a while…a very long while. Thankfully, he’d been able to largely lose himself in the organized chaos of it all, and Mirabel had been particularly helpful, working as a liaison between him and anyone he’d had to interact with, smoothing the awkwardness away with her easy conversation and joyful presence. And he had managed to largely ignore the curious stares that came from, well, from pretty much everyone until the novelty of his return had worn off. Well…at least he had pretended to ignore them.
“I don’t want to pressure you, arenoso,” Julieta said gently, putting a slightly soapy hand on his shoulder. “I just don’t want…”
…don’t want you to get lost again. She’d let her sentence trail off, but the unspoken ending hung awkwardly in the air anyway. They’d both turned back to their dishes, with Pepa standing stiffly beside them, hugging a freshly dried plate to her stomach. The cloud above her head darkened just a little. Bruno winced down at the soapy water as the silence surrounding them grew painful.
“H-hey, maybe you can spend the day with Antonio tomorrow?" Pepa offered nervously, popping the tension like a soap bubble. "He needs a…a break …from routine, too."
Bruno and Julieta looked at their sister with matching frowns, both narrowing their eyebrows in concern. It would have been comical or even sweet to see the same expression mirrored between her two siblings again…if she didn’t feel the weight of the very same concern pulling down the corners of her own mouth.
Antonio had been struggling to find a place for himself in the Madrigal visits to town. Before his gift, he might have shyly clung to Mirabel’s skirts or played in the dirt while Pepa rained on the fields, never quite brave enough to venture out to play with the other children on his own, refusing to speak to the adults that smiled down at him. Pepa worried about his shyness.
But now a different problem had presented itself. Antonio was now more than happy to engage with anyone and everyone, possessing a newfound courage with his animal friends by his side, but his animal friends were also decidedly wild, and even Antonio could not control every move they made. Just last week, some monkeys that had trailed him into the town had wandered away and found some storage crates of fruit, working together to drop them from the roof of a nearby house until the crates smashed open and spilled out a feast that was then fit only for them. The owner of the crates had not been happy.
Most of the jungle animals had largely maintained a healthy, fearful distance from the bustling, busy streets of the Encanto for the fifty years it had occupied the valley, but Antonio’s warmth and friendship seemed to have blurred that boundary, and Abuela was struggling to find a balance between loving encouragement and civic order. And when Abuela struggled with something, all the Madrigals struggled with her, in one way or another.
“...Mamá suggested that maybe Antonio might spend some time in the forest paths, playing with his gift,” Pepa explained, putting away the plate so she could pull at her braid. A knowing glance between all three siblings conveyed the underlying meaning of the word play—learn to get it under control. “Félix was going to take him, but you two get along so well, Bruno. Maybe you could spend some time with him, and you both could enjoy the fresh air. You know. Bonding?”
Bruno blew out an exaggerated breath, his cheeks puffing and his shoulders dropping dramatically. He pulled his mouth to the side and looked at Pepa with an expression of reluctant concession. How could he say no to a whole day with his sobrino? He loved the kid. And the very fact that Abuela had been the one to suggest the break from town…well. He knew what that felt like. No matter how nicely she put it, how lovingly she intended it, he knew it would feel like a punishment to Antonio. That thought…well that thought broke his heart a little.
“...F-fine,” he mustered in response. “We’ll go for a walk in the–- ” he swallowed dryly“ –- i-in the forest.”
A bit of sunlight broke through from behind the cloud above Pepa’s head, and Bruno couldn’t help but flash a small, crooked smile up at it. She pulled him sideways by his collar and planted a kiss on his cheek, which he winced at but accepted gratefully. Julieta nudged him with her hip.
“There you go! That will be fun,” she said happily, clearly convinced this was a fantastic solution for all parties. Bruno was not so sure. “Take Mirabel with you, too, if you want. You know she’d love to join her two favorite people for the day.”
Bruno had raised his eyebrows in surprise at that. Favorite people? Was he included in that list? Julieta had just smiled and turned back to the dishes. It had taken Bruno a moment, but he also slowly resumed his duties, finding he couldn’t put away the little smile on his own face that had arrived at the thought that he might be someone’s favorite.
So here he was now, sharing a picnic blanket with a sloth and a capybara—among other crawling, flittering things—nursing a bruised ego after having been tackled by a six year old on a jaguar, all because he was a pushover who couldn’t say no to time with his sobrinos.
Caray. The things I get myself into…

Indulge my “Senoritas Perfectas” bullshit 🌸✨
Takes place immediately following Mirabel’s Ceremony
It was pure happenstance that Isabela and Mirabel arrived to breakfast together. They’d both woken early- Isabela from habit and Mirabel because she wanted to keep practicing with her Gift- and they walked into the dining room together. Mirabel trailed right behind Isabela, little sparkles dancing around her fingertips.
Abuela smiled softly, her eyes shining with pride.
“There’s my perfect girls,” she said. She rose from her seat to hug them both, kissing Isabela on the cheek and gently stroking Mirabel’s hair.
Isabela paused. Perfect. My perfect girls.
It was true, Mirabel’s Gift was perfect. Everyone had gone wild when she touched her door and light spilled from her. She’d been bombarded with requests the whole night; the villagers and family alike were eager to see what light powers could create.
Abuela had looked especially fond when Isabela made flower petals rain down on Mirabel as she danced.
Perfect. Of course it was perfect. How could it be any less?
But what if…?
Isabela kept her smile in place as she and Mirabel took their seats. Abuela ushered Mirabel into the seat next to Isabela. That was new. Normally there was no fuss on who sat where; the only rule (albeit unspoken) was that Abuela always sat at the head of the table.
Isabela listened as Mirabel happily rambled to Abuela, telling her about the tiny rainbow she’d made that morning and how she promised she’d made one of the lights look like a butterfly. So eager to please. So happy and sweet.
What if Mirabel couldn’t keep it up? What if her smile slipped? What if people got bored of her Gift?
Her heart was pounding but Isa kept her hands clasped together and her posture straight (Abuela said it made her look so grown up), smiling all the while.
Her growing suspicions were confirmed after breakfast. As everyone separated to go about their business, Abuela took Isabela aside.
“Isa, mi vida,” she said. “After school, will you let Mirabel join you for your chores?” Her smile was indulgent, so happy and proud. Isabela would do anything to keep that smile.
Besides, Mirabel tailing her wouldn’t exactly be hard work. At most, she’d just insistently ask questions, like usual.
“Sí, Abuela,” she said.
“Gracias, amor,” Abuela said. She squeezed Isabela’s hand. “I think you are the best suited to help her.”
“Help her, Abuela?”
“With her Gift. Flowers and light- it couldn’t be more perfect.”
There was that word again. One little word with so much weight.
Isabela needed to be perfect. Everyone in the family did, really; they were the amazing Madrigals, so blessed, so helpful and strong. But she was the eldest, the shining example to her sisters, her cousins, to everyone in her age group.
Senorita Perfecta Isabela. Sweet, angelic, perfect Isabela. The flower princess.
And now Mirabel. The little shining star. Warm, loving, happy Mirabel.
Isabela didn’t want to see her sister’s smile disappear.
Of course she’d help her. What else could she do?

Picture Perfect...?
The Madrigals were all doing their own things today.
It had been 3 months since the Casita crashed, and the rebuild. They had all become closer than ever! Feeling like they've truly reunited properly.
Of course, they still had secrets...
Dolores, was sat in the main room, next to Mariano. Dolores was listening with excitement as Mariano spoke, his voice like music to her ears.
Camilo, was with Antonio, upstairs. They were running do the halls, Antonio was riding his Jaguar, parce, as Camilo tried to keep up.
Isabela was sat on her vine swing, decorated with new plants. She was tripping up Camilo every now an again by growing random plants.
Luisa was relaxing in a hammock, a drink in hand, her donkey-unicorn stuffie in the hammock next to her. Both laying in the sun.
Pepa was stood with Felix, both were charring by the bottom of the stairs, their conversation going unheard by the other Madrigals,
but it was clearly happy and loving, since Pepa's cheek were practically painted pink, and the sun was shining above the town, and Felix was sporting his loving, flirtatious smile at his wife, speaking to her in Spanish.
Bruno was sat in his bedroom, redecorating.
Julieta was sat outside with Agustìn, both enjoying the nice weather.
Alma was sat in the kitchen, sipping a cup of coffee as she read a book, a romance. But she wouldn't admit that.
And Mirabel was setting the plates for dinner.
"Mirabel, dinner isn't for a few hours yet?" Alma says, her head tilting up, her eyes going from her book to her granddaughter who had just finished setting the plates.
"Well, I like getting ready early, this way we don't spend time putting the plates out during dinner." Mirabel explains.
"And we repaired Tio Bruno's old plate! We wanna surprise him at dinner!" Mirabel smiles excitedly, her usual cheerfulness, radiating from her like light did from the sun.
"He'll love it, Nieta. How about you go play with your cousins? Or sisters?" Alma suggests, but it was more like an order.
"But I need -" Mirabel's excuse was cut short.
"No. No, I won't hear any of that, go enjoy the nice day -"
The sound of glass shattering filled the house, everyone jumped.
Pepa picked up thr photo, it was of Antonio's ceremony.
"Camilo! Antonio! You both need to be careful!" Pepa scolded her younger children, a cloud growing over her head.
"Mi Vida, look." Felix whispers, taking the picture, showing his wife. "Where's Mirabel? She isn't in the photograph."
At this, the entire family started to crowd around, peering at the picture.
"Mirabel?" Antonio asks, looking up, the entire family copied. They looked at Mirabel, who was stood at the entrance of the kitchen, her hands clasped infront of her, a nervous look on her face, as if she had done something wrong.
"Mirabel, why aren't you in the picture?" Pepa asks, her voice carried confusion and a hint of sadness.
Mirabel looked away, her fingers interlaced before her hands moved to her to her side.
"W, well, you all were really excited, a and I wasn't included, I don't have a gift, I guess you all just forgot to include me, but I get why, I mean, you need to have a gift to be a Madrigal!" Mirabel says quickly, her hands moving as she spoke, moving with her voice.
As Mirabel spoke, the look on the Madrigals' faces slowly turned to stunned sadness.
Pepa's clowd turned dark and a light drizzle started to pour down.
"M, mirabel, we forgot you?" *Julieta asked, staring at her daughter. "Why didn't you say? We could've redone it." She says. Walking up to her daughter.
"Well, you were all really happy, a and I didn't wanna be a bother, so I just...stayed quiet." Mirabel says.
"Oh Miraboo." Agustìn says lovingly and sadly, using her nickname only he could say, he hugged his daughter tightly.
"You could never be a bother. You're a part of the familia Madrigal!" He smiles, trying to lighten the mood.
"This won't do." Alma says firmly, her hands clasped together, the entire family looked up to their Matriarch, waiting for her to continue.
"Next week. We will have a party, for Mirabel's sixteenth birthday." Alma says, then looks directly at Mirabel "And Mirabel, you will be the centre of the photo." Alma says firmly but kindly, showing she genuinely meant her words. "We missed your gift ceremony, and your Quinceara. We will have to fix that."
"You really don't have to!" Mirabel tried to change their minds, but the family was already brainstorming.
"Out! The future birthday girls cannot hear the plan!" Camilo says, ushering Mirabel to the kitchen.
Mirabel chuckled. She knew her family was trying to make up for it all.
Familia Madrigal was healing. And it would take time
But they'd slowly heal the cracks.

Confused Heart Chapter Two: My Sweet Flower.
Older and Dark Camilo Madrigal x Female Reader x Younger Bruno Madrigal
It was Finally Friday evening. The favorite day of the week for nineteen year old Camilo Madrigal. It was more exciting than Sunday Church mornings.
He would get to see his sweet Name.
His Uncle Bruno's wife.
That's right. Camilo had a dirty secret that could ruin the entire family. Not only does he love that married woman but he has been taking advantage of her over the past seven months.
The young man tried to get Name out of his mind. He loved his Uncle Bruno and didn't want to hurt him. Camilo felt guilty and was ashamed of his sins.
But, he failed. He slept with other women in college to move on. But, he realized he didn't want Name for sex and lust only. Camilo genuinely loves Name for her.
Thus Camilo was planning to have sex with you…again.
Every Friday evening, the Magical Madrigal family would visit Uncle Bruno's Casa for dinner.
Bruno moved out of the Casita after marrying Name. It was a beautiful house with loads of trees and plants. Cozy and comfortable.
Camilo knocked on the door and Bruno opened it. Both nephew and uncle hugged. Inside, the aroma of the food made Camilo's mouth water.
Name would cook delicious food from all over the world. She loves to serve Russian and Turkish food to Madrigals mostly.
Camilo wondered which country food you will serve Tonight.
"For you." Camilo grinned at Bruno. It was expensive Champagne.
Bruno thanked the young man and the two chatted and mingled. Finally, Bruno had to leave Camilo to speak to another guest.
Taking another advantage, Camilo licked his lips and walked to the kitchen.
"Hola, Name. Need help?"
"Camilo!" You grinned and then hugged the boy.
Camilo returned the hug and felt your perky tits against his muscular chest. It felt so good and right you pressed against him.
How he wished you both were the same age and he met you first.
You said you needed a little help and thus Camilo helped you place the Mexican food you cooked on the dining table.
During dinner, Camilo would eat and steal glances and make polite conversations with whoever sits next to him. His little brother, father, or even an outsider guest.
The meal he ate was hearty. Bruno was one lucky bastard. A wonderful cook, and a beautiful tradwife you were. God fearing too. A perfect marriage partner.
It was almost time.
Camilo watched Bruno drink his Champagne and as time passed by the family and other guests would slowly leave for their home.
Camilo lived in the Encanto University dorm.
So, his parents would not pry to where their son was going.
You didn't drink. Maribel, Dolores, and Isabel and you quickly washed the dishes and put the food in tupperware containers.
Soon, you retired to bed yourself as you were exhausted from being a hostess.
Camilo hid in the shadows watching the house finally be empty.
It was now time.
Camilo rolled off of your sleeping form panting and sweating. He dressed you back into your nightgown. Then he watched you as he dressed himself up.
He hated how he always took you never awake. Always sleeping. He enjoyed you no doubt. But, he wanted you to beg for him and moan his name. To see your lovely eyes.
Camilo gave you one last look of longing before he gave you a chaste kiss on the forehead. He then looked over to his passed out Uncle in jealousy.
Lucky Bastard.
The next Friday dinner was not the usual. Just like when Camilo first met you when he was twelve years old.
Bruno grinned. "I'm going to be a father!"
The table cheered.
"Holy Crap."
What have he done?

Encanto Ride the Cyclone AU.
For @glowing-celesticpetals, based on the prompt: “maybe something about Antonio or Bruno in the Ride the Cyclone Au?”
This is the last you’ll see of the living side; the family grieving the loss of the four children.
Comments are always appreciated.
Warning, sensitive topics ahead: character death.
~~~~~~
Just Another Tragic Fact
Bruno sighed to himself.
The four gravestones, all lined up, layered in a variety of plants - Isabela would have hated it if it was all just flowers.
Here lies
Luisa Amalia Rojas Madrigal
14th November 1930 - 14th September 1951
Beloved daughter and sister.
Here lies
Camilo Valentino Estrada Madrigal
28th December 1934 - 14th September 1951
Beloved son and brother.
Here lies
Isabela Cristina Rojas Madrigal
7th August 1928 - 14th September 1951
Beloved daughter and sister.
Here lies
Dolores Victoria Estrada Madrigal
31st August 1928 - 14th September 1951
Beloved daughter, sister and partner.
Seeing it makes it real.
Not that it didn’t feel real watching the crash and seeing their dead bodies be pulled from the wreckage.
The funeral had came and went.
The loss of the children, who had been dubbed ‘Encanto’s Four Saints’, had impacted the town itself. Everyone was draped in mourning garb and music and laughter almost vanished from the streets.
But, of course, it brought the most impact to the Madrigals themselves.
“I’m sorry,” Bruno says to them.
It’s a relatively bright and dry afternoon - considering Encanto has been living in a constant storm since the Cyclone accident.
Pepa must be asleep. She’s done a lot more of that recently.
He doesn’t blame her.
“I should have seen… I should have been able to warn you. Then maybe you’d still be…” he sighs, breaking into tears again.
“Tío Bruno?”
He sniffles. “Hey, Toñito.”
“What are you doing?”
“I thought I’d just come to see them. It’s a nice day.”
“You don’t have to say ‘sorry’. You couldn’t have known what would happen at the fair.”
“No, you all couldn't have known. This is my gift. This is what I’m for. But… I didn’t even think to look and now it’s my fault they’re gone.”
“Still. You can’t blame yourself.”
Tight arms fasten around him.
Bruno accepts the hug.
It probably should be the other way around, it’s not him who has lost his siblings and cousins.
~~~~~~
Antonio doesn’t quite process that they are gone.
He knows they are dead, but… their family has a miracle, why wouldn’t it bring them back?
When a bunch of baby capybaras are born the following week, he names them after his siblings and cousins.
The quietest capybara he names Lola. She was the oldest of the four. She’s always hiding behind his legs. She insists she be carried up and down the stairs. He finds a pinkish red ribbon in Mirabel’s room that he asks his Mama to tie in a bow for Lola.
Next came Luis. He was the biggest of the litter, so Antonio didn’t need to mark him to tell him apart. Luis was more like a playful puppy than anything else, frequently managing to sneak out of Antonio’s room to wander around Casita in search of belly rubs.
Then there was Belita, or Bela, depending on whether or not Antonio was telling her off. Like her mother, Chispi, she was very confident and snarky. However, lacked her mother’s chill. She was full of energy - if Antonio didn’t put her to bed with her siblings, he would be sure she never slept.
And lastly there was Milo, possibly Antonio’s favourite but don’t tell the others. Getting his brother’s name, he was exactly like him. Mischievous, loves food, and maybe a little too dramatic. Milo was good at making him laugh and, after everything, that is what he needed.
He assembles them all before bed, so that when Mama or Papa or both of them come to read his story, they are there too.
Abuela would happily spend time babysitting the four of them while Antonio was at school.
If they came into the kitchen, Tía Julieta would offer them scraps or spare food they could eat.
Tío Agustín had built a little wooden cart that Antonio could pull them around in.
Tío Bruno pretty much adopted them alongside his many rats, as the best pets/children ever.
It was another week later that Antonio got an idea.
“What are you doing, mijo?” His mother asked one day. It was just before dinner - table already set up, but nobody had called them to eat.
Then she noticed the extra chairs and plates that had been added to the table. And Antonio having placed each capybara on their namesake’s chair, which was stacked with pillows, so their heads just about reached the table.
“I thought they could join us for dinner!” He offered. “And Chispi is here too to watch them. I got her a spare chair all by myself.”
Pepa didn’t know what to say. “Is your Abuela okay with this?”
“Why wouldn’t she be? She loves them. I saw her cuddling Milo and Lola when I came home today. I think she likes them more than Tío Bruno’s rats.” He informed, happily.
“Well, but, you know what Tía Julieta is like with animals at the table,” Pepa tried again.
“I don’t think she’ll mind. It’s like having the family back together!”
Thunder rumbled.
“I was meant to ask Bruno something,” she excused herself, brushing through her braid as she walked off.
Antonio stood in silence.
He glances at Chispi, “Did I do something wrong?”
~~~~~~
It’s a silent night.
They are slowly coming out of mourning and adjusting back to normality.
Starting to work again.
The colours of black and dark blue and dark grey begin to fade away.
The eternal storm that Encanto has been wrapped in since September is slowly breaking away. Now it is just occasional spells of heavy rain and sleet.
Antonio has long since been put to bed, with the four capybaras.
The rest of the adults stay up.
What once would have been a night of some wine, a few cards games, music and laughter, is now just a solemn conversation in the candlelight.
They ‘um’ and ‘ah’ over what could have been.
Where and what the children are doing, now that they are no longer among the living.
“And the other one?” Agustín dares to ask. “Did anyone ever come for her?”
“Was she at least identified?” Félix inquires.
“No.” Alma answers. “The order was given for her to be buried today.”
Pepa tugs at her hair, shivering. “I can’t imagine it. A child. Just like the rest of them. Except in an unmarked grave, and not a soul to care.”
“Her poor family,” Bruno remarks. “My sympathy is with them.”
“No.” Julieta shook her head. “To let their child go… and they don’t even care. They either didn’t care to look in the first place or they couldn't recognise their own bloody child. It’s horrible. They don’t deserve any sympathy.”
“Julieta!” Her mother and brother both exclaim, in shock at her attitude.
All the family is, but Agustín and Félix are stunned into silence (not that they find a fault in her statement, it’s just unexpected for her), and Pepa is already nodding her head in agreement.
“I agree.” She said, turning to Julieta. “If it was one of our babies, I would have known instantly. Heartless people.”
"Do...do you mean it?" Seven year old Mirabel asked with a small sniffle as she looked up at her mama who kissed her head.
"Of course I mean it, my precious jewel. They're all waiting for you at the palace." Usagi said hiding her rage at the Madrigals behind her need to reassure her baby girl.
"B-But I'm... I'm giftless, useless! I don't deserve a birthday." Mirabel said repeating what her grandmother and eldest sister had told her earlier that week, maybe not in those words but Mirabel knew enough to know what they were really saying.
"Oh my sweet princess." Luna nuzzled the small child's face softly and gave her a kitty kiss on the nose that made Mirabel giggle.
"Don't listen to whatever teme-baka said that my little jewel. You are so so special, so amazing. And I am so lucky to have you. Of course you deserve a birthday. And your nee-chans and I are gonna make this the best birthday." And every birthday after this would be just as special and made even better. Usagi couldn't believe the family her precious baby girl was reborn to didn't see her for the amazing priceless princess she was.
Well they'd make sure she never doubted just how loved she was. Usagi knew she was going to spoil her baby girl, and Setsuna had always spoiled the princess, but Usagi has a feeling that all of the others would spoil their little princess more than ever before. Even grumpy Luna would probably spoil the princess...as if Usagi hadn't found her advisor napping in Mirabels room to watch over her as she slept.
"Are you ready to go my priceless treasure? You have a cake and presents and so many hugs waiting for you." Usagi asked softly and she felt the small cautious nod against her shoulder. Sharing a glance with Luna Usagi knew that one day when they were able to bring up the Madrigals treatment of the princess, well Usagi never forgot anything involving her children and Luna had a very good memory and a protective streak as wide as any senshis.
Some cat scratches were the least of what they'd get from the royal advisor.
WHY ARE THEY BEING MEAN TO HER WHATTT o(╥﹏╥)o(งᵒ̌皿ᵒ̌)ง⁼³₌₃
Shootout to Usagi (and Setsuna and Luna and the other senshi's) for being there because SOME PEOPLE COULDN'T. I'm not gonna say any names. But like??? Why were Alma and Isabela so damn salty 😭 like its not even their birthday, and is it really that serious??? PROJECTING MUCH???
I lob drawing them...so much...
Dunno know why I gave Mira a moon as well. Like to think it appears and glows brighter whenever Mirabel’s on Earth and Usagi is close by. Same with Antonio 🤓☝️
