So it’s perfectly fine for Marko Stunt (and even guys like Darby, Jack Perry, most of the luchadors, etc) to wrestle the rest of the men’s roster (and pull off crazy moves on them!), and even have a singles match against Lance Archer, but it would just be absurd and upsetting for any of the women to fight the men? Am I getting that right? That’s what we’re saying here?

(Re)watching AEW from the beginning even though I literally just finished doing it for the first time because I’m obsessed and have a serious problem. Maybe I’ll post my thoughts as I go because a lot of this is like brand new.

To start: Cutler and Nakazawa were on the first episode?? Wild. I barely recognized Cutler.

I forgot about Bea Priestley entirely. Jimmy Havoc too.

It was so nice seeing Cody again. Fuck do I miss him and Brandi in AEW

Kenny vs Mox was so good, I forgot how good it was. Of course, when I watched the first time I wasn’t a fan of either so I wasn’t really paying attention

I can’t decide if I’m happy or upset that Hangman got rid of the chaps

I kind of miss those super chaotic brawl endings with like 10 guys out there. We don’t need it all the time, just every once in a while

Wild Thing is great but I kind of miss Mox’s old music. And his spray painted vests and jackets. Also I forgot that he actually came out of the tunnels at the beginning instead of from the back and my god is it weird

Mox’s promo before his unsanctioned match with Kenny at Full Gear ‘19 is still fucking fantastic. Pretty sure that’s the promo that made me fall in love with him when I first watched.

Remember when they had Shawn Spears kick out of two consecutive Cross Rhodes and then it went nowhere because he sucks? Wild.

I still can’t believe SCU were the first tag team champions. Over the Lucha Brothers. Over Best Friends. Over Jurassic Express. Hell, even over the Bucks. Fucking crazy.

I love the Daily’s Place era dearly, and once they hit their stride they were putting on great shows, but man those first few episodes are hard to watch

I just watched Full Gear 2019 for the first time yesterday and man, AEW PPVs have gotten so much better since then, thank god.

Two main takeaways (other than the many subpar matches): One: Cody losing hurt. I know why they and he did it, and his feud with MJF that came after was great and I did kind of enjoy the Jericho title reign, not gonna lie, but he should’ve been champion at least once. And two: Omega/Moxley might have been the most brutal thing I’ve ever seen. Goddamn. That was such a great match. Run. It. Back.
