Archember 31 Days Challenge

a bit late to post on tumblr, but @/madillhethen and I got the idea to start a month-long art challenge centered around Archer Emiya, though other archer-class servant is also welcome (since the name is fitting for it :v)

Since @madillhethen showed off their Fate collection, I decided to post mine! I totally get the hype :D it’s exciting to fangasm over all the pieces you can own of your hobby/interests!

Starting with BDs/Games/Materials! I have Extra, multiple copies of Extella and Link! I enjoyed Link but honestly I found myself much more emotionally invested in regular Extella. No comment on Extra CCC because I guess that game will never exist in the US

I have the emiya gohan game for my switch as well and ofc the original fate stay night VN on my computer!

Anyway! You’ll notice two copies of Camelot and that’s because I usually buy the Japanese release and didn’t realize this particular movie didn’t have English subtitles. OH WELL. I also have my old ass copy of the Deen anime (episodes 1-4), a Blu-ray complete set, the UBW movie AND the tv anime. Also threw in my Garden of Sinners set, the little seiba decoration I got in Akihabara along with some FGO materials I also got in Japan! Vol 2 was nowhere to be found…but I did get that Trailer’s Trail and little book thing at a Gamer’s. I’ve also got the FGO manga that’s out covering Orleans and that little mini servant material book from Japan. Idk if you can see the little FGO thing I have on my fridge in the bg but that’s the wrapping paper for some FGO themed cookies I found in some random shop :D

Onto the figures! And I have a lot o_o

The jalter one is actually put back in her box so that picture is kinda old. I don’t have a very good place to put her and she was over $300 so I’m not putting her out in the open. She is massive and doesn’t fit in the China cabinet or curio cabinet. I have lots of fate knickknacks and could fill up a post with just those, but I’ll draw the line at actual scale figures!

Favorite time of the year: winter. I cannot survive in temperatures above 70°. I will die. There’s also a level of peace when you go outside and the earth is quiet.

Comfort foods: mac n cheese 🤤 from easy mac to the gourmet shit. Panera and Penguin Ed’s have god tier macaroni and cheese. I also love mint Milano cookies

Do you collect anything: too much. I have a coin collection in one part American currency and one part foreign currency. I also collect rolled pennies, anime figures (no longer buying new ones), and 90s Pokémon merchandise! Including the first few sets of cards!

Favorite drink: melon Ramune, grapefruit Jarritos, chocolate milk and Barq’s root beer!

Favorite music artists: Idk, I care less about individual artists compared to whole bands and genres. Like my favorite band is Slipknot but I can’t stand Stone Sour LOL. On that note, Nightwish when Tarja was the lead singer was my all time fav.

Current favorite songs: I can’t think of one that’s like, my flavor of the month, but some of my favorite songs PERIODT are Vermillion, Pulse of the Maggots, The Pharaoh Sails to Orion and Dr Feelgood

Favorite Fics: I don’t really read fics often enough to have a fav 🤡

Favourite time of the year: I love Autumn and Winter equally, bc it’s always so hot where I live and we only have a break from high temperatures during these seasons 🍂

Favourite drink?: I shouldn’t say beer strong, black coffee

Favourite music artists: There a few I can remember now, such as Amy Lee from Evanescence, Lana, Alanis Morissette, Björk… They’ve been my favs for a long time

Current favorite songs: I’ve been listening to Lucretia my Reflection by Sisters of Mercy non stop. Also Sudna, by Molchat Doma and Running up that Hill by Kate Bush. I could swear I would always prefer Placebo’s version, but I was wrong 🤭

Favourite fics: Well, it’s embarrassing to say this but I haven’t read as many fics as I should, so there’s only one I can recall now: Lost Lamb, a Sukuna fic by @sakuraryomen01 ❤

Hmm, in regards to the LGBT FSN ask, the issue is that a lot of them you see is GxG with Cu and Archer being just a highly popular fanon ship. Fate is written by males with the idea that the player is a male so just like western media, lesbian or bi ships involving girls is more acceptable and desirable than a BL one because it’s ‘hot’ on a general viewpoint of a male player which is unfortunate. That’s why a lot of male servants in FGO are more on the bromantic side or familial ones, whereas the females are more ‘waifu’. Very few men (Fergus, David, Bedivere and maybe a few others) actually seem to disregard gender in a more romantic sense.

It’s also why in Extra, Nameless’s route with Male Hakuno and Female Hakuno differ slightly in dialogue. On one point it could be that Nasu was trying to make a statement that Nameless is heterosexual but another is that old fashion gamer logic is male players are usual Cis Het Men so they don’t want to see MxM.

So though I do agree, there are some LGBT in Fate, many of them is just the girls being bi or lesbian though I suppose considering they could’ve just as easily not included anything, it’s still fortunate LGBT is shown at all.

Also, in FGO iirc Ibaraki and Shuten are married or a couple of sorts. And Xu Fu canonically admits to being in love with Yu Mei-Ren.

Yeah, now that I think about it, most of it is more female-leaning. and it would be nice to have more male relationships that can be read that way.

I mean, it's nice to have at least this, because like you said, they could've just not included anything, but it is kind of a shame there's not more representation on the male side of things.

I do kind of wish that they at the very least didn't change the dialog for Emiya in Extra, so you could at least possibly read that as an interaction that can be read that way.

It's all really just unfortunate.
