Wild Games
back to my main masterlist
pairing: lewis hamilton x singlemom!reader
summary: a single mom, two teens, and lewis hamilton love unfolds through laughter, UNO, and a game of Twister.
a/n: dont have any ideas, so please send requests 🗣‼️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There’s pizza grease on Dash’s cheek, Ari’s taken over the aux cable, and Lewis is laughing like a man who’s finally figured out where he belongs.
The board games are scattered across the coffee table, but Dash’s eyes gleam with mischief when he holds up the UNO deck like it’s Excalibur.
—You ready to lose, old man? —he says, grinning at Lewis.
—Oh, it’s on —Lewis replies, cracking his knuckles in exaggerated slow motion. —But I play ruthless.
You raise an eyebrow, slipping into the couch next to Ari. —So do I.
Ari smirks. —Let’s destroy him, Mom.
Lewis gasps, clutching his chest. —And you, Ari?
The first few rounds go light and fun, until Dash starts stacking +2s like a little gremlin. Ari counters with a Reverse, you hit Lewis with a +4, and suddenly he’s drowning in a sea of vengeance-colored cards.
—You people are animals. —Lewis says, half-laughing, half-suffering. —How am I the only one with 27 cards?
—Because you messed with the wrong family —Dash says with the air of a supervillain.
You’re all cracking up by the time Ari wins the round with a smug. —UNO… and out.
Lewis throws his cards down dramatically. —That’s it. I’m challenging you all to Twister. Let’s see how flexible these egos are.
Dash lets out a yell and dives for the game box before anyone can argue.
Minutes later, you’re on the floor. Literally.
The Twister mat is sprawled out, and the living room looks like it survived a soft tornado made of teens, limbs, and suppressed laughter.
Ari’s already out, she “accidentally” fell during a left-foot-yellow situation that she swears was sabotage.
Dash is hanging on by a toe and a prayer.
Lewis is next to you, way too close for someone trying to win, and somehow his left hand is barely an inch from yours.
—Right hand, blue. —Ari announces with fake menace from the side.
You reach. So does Lewis. Your hands land at the same time. His pinky brushes yours.
It shouldn’t matter.
It shouldn’t send a lightning bolt straight through you.
But it does.
And when you look up, he’s already watching you with that smile. The one he saves for when the kids are distracted. The one that says, we’re more than just this game.
Your heart skips.
You’re not sure if it’s because of the tension in your back or the tension in the air.
Dash loses it, like literally and figuratively, tumbling to the side with a dramatic grunt. —I’m out. My spine doesn’t bend like that.
Which leaves just you and Lewis. Face to face. Hand to hand. Heart to—
—Left foot green! —Ari yells, loving this way too much.
You move. He moves. The moment stretches.
—You okay? —he murmurs, barely audible.
You nod, biting your lip to keep from smiling too much.

MY SHAYLA x3

Lewis' podium
The energy in the paddock was electric as Lewis’s car crossed the finish line, securing him a spot on the podium for the first time in what felt like ages. I could barely contain my excitement as I watched from the sidelines, surrounded by a sea of cheering fans. The moment felt surreal, and my heart raced as Lewis climbed out of his car, a triumphant grin plastered across his face.
As he approached me, still wearing his helmet, I couldn't help but notice the way the crowd erupted in applause and shouts. The deafening cheers seemed to fade into the background as he got closer. “Honey, I’ve done it!!” he shouted, his voice slightly muffled but filled with uncontainable joy.
The adrenaline coursing through my veins made me feel invincible. I laughed, my heart swelling with pride as I reached up to remove his helmet. The instant his face came into view, I felt the warmth of his excitement radiate between us. The crowd’s energy shifted, anticipation crackling in the air as they sensed something special was about to happen.
Lewis leaned down, his eyes locked onto mine, and in that electric moment, he kissed me deeply, right there in front of everyone. The world around us disappeared; all I could feel was the warmth of his lips and the deafening roar of the crowd as they cheered for us.
From that day forward, we became the couple everyone adored. Fans began sharing videos and photos of the kiss, turning it into an iconic moment.
As the weeks passed, our relationship was the talk of the town. But it wasn't long before the news of our little family surprise came to light.
It was late, the dimmed lights in our living room casting soft shadows on the walls as I paced back and forth. The small plastic stick in my hand felt heavy, like it held the weight of the world. My heart pounded as I stared at the two pink lines that confirmed it—I was pregnant.
I had imagined this moment so many times, rehearsing how I would tell him, but now that it was real, my mind was a blur of emotions. Excitement, fear, happiness—everything at once.
Lewis had just gotten home from the gym, his usual easy smile lighting up his face as he stepped inside. He dropped his gym bag by the door, not yet noticing the turmoil in my eyes.
"Hey, love. Everything alright?" He asked, walking over to kiss me on the forehead, his hands automatically settling on my waist. But as he looked down at me, his brow furrowed in concern. He knew something was up.
I took a deep breath, feeling the warmth of his hands on me, grounding me. "Lewis, I… I need to tell you something."
His eyes softened instantly, the worry easing away. He pulled me closer, concern still flickering in his gaze but now mixed with curiosity.
"You’re scaring me a bit, babe. What’s going on?"
I bit my lip, the words almost stuck in my throat. My heart raced as I reached for his hand, slipping the positive pregnancy test into his palm. He looked down at it, confusion crossing his face for a brief second before realization hit him like a wave.
His eyes widened, flicking from the test to me and back to the test again. "Wait… are you serious?"
I nodded, tears springing to my eyes as a nervous laugh escaped me. "Yes, Lewis. We’re going to have a baby."
For a moment, it was like time stood still. He stared at me, his mouth hanging open in disbelief. Then, without warning, he scooped me up into his arms, spinning me around as a wide, joyful laugh escaped him.
"Are you kidding me?!" He was grinning from ear to ear, his excitement so contagious I couldn’t help but giggle, too. "We’re having a baby?!"
"Yeah… we’re having a baby." I nodded, my heart swelling as I saw how happy he was.
Lewis set me down gently, but his arms stayed wrapped around me, his forehead resting against mine.
"I can’t believe this," he whispered, his voice full of awe. "You’re going to be the most amazing mom, you know that?"
"And you’re going to be the best dad. Our little one’s going to be so lucky." I smiled, feeling the butterflies in my stomach.
He pulled back slightly, looking into my eyes, his expression soft and full of love.
"This is the best news I could’ve ever imagined. I love you so much."
"I love you too," I whispered back, my voice catching with emotion.
Lewis placed a hand on my stomach, still grinning like a kid on Christmas morning. "Our little secret," he said, his voice hushed, as if speaking too loud would make it any less real.
As the initial shock and excitement settled in, Lewis and I spent the rest of the evening curled up on the couch, talking about everything that lay ahead. The glow in his eyes hadn’t dimmed one bit; if anything, it had grown brighter with every moment.
"I still can’t believe it," he whispered, running his fingers softly over my stomach. "We’re actually having a baby."
I laughed, leaning my head against his shoulder. "It’s real, Lewis. You’re going to be a dad."
"You know, now that I think about it, when do you reckon we… you know, made this little one?" A playful smirk spread across his face.
I rolled my eyes at his cheeky tone. "Really? That’s what you’re thinking about now?"
"Well," he chuckled, nudging me slightly. "It’s not every day you find out you're going to be a dad. I’m just curious." He paused, tilting his head as if considering the options. "I mean, we’ve been busy lately…"
I snorted, shaking my head. "Busy is an understatement. We travel all the time."
Suddenly, realization dawned on him. His eyes widened, and I saw the gears turning in his head. "Wait… what about Monaco? You remember? After that podium…"
I froze for a second, my mind flashing back to that night. The celebration had been wild—Lewis had just gotten his first podium in a while, and we were on cloud nine. The champagne, the excitement, the adrenaline… and later that night, when we finally got back to our home…
I fele my cheeks flush. "Oh my God, Lewis."
He grinned like a Cheshire cat, clearly putting it all together. "That’s when it happened, didn’t it? The night of the podium celebration! No wonder the timing makes sense."
I covered my face with my hands, laughing as the memory came flooding back. "I can’t believe this! You’re right. That’s when it happened."
Lewis burst out laughing, clearly delighted by the connection. "No wonder I felt so invincible that weekend. Turns out, we had a little extra reason to celebrate!"
I playfully swatted his arm, though I couldn’t stop laughing either. "We’ll never live this down, you know. People are going to figure it out, and the teasing is going to be relentless."
He shrugged, still grinning like a fool. "Let them talk. They can tease us all they want. As long as I’ve got you and this little one, I don’t care."
I smiled, leaning into him, feeling the warmth of his words. "You’re such a sap sometimes, you know that?"
He chuckled, kissing the top of my head. "Only for you, love."
As we sat there, wrapped in each other and in the realization of what was to come, I couldn’t help but think about how crazy our journey had been so far. And now, with a baby on the way, it was about to get even crazier. But with Lewis by my side, I knew we could handle anything—even the endless teasing from our friends and fans.
"Just wait until the guys hear about this," he said with a wink, already anticipating the chaos to come.
I rolled my eyes again but smiled. "Oh, I’m sure they’ll never let us forget it."

DREAMS lando norris pt.1 When your childhood bestfriend Flo had convinced you to get the fashion design job at her brother's company Quadrant, it finally paid off when Louis Vuitton was announced as the new sponsor for F1.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pt.2 pt.3 pt.4 pt.5 pt.6 wordcount: 1378
Flo's voice filled the room as she scrolled through her phone, her excitement palpable.
"I'm telling you, this is perfect for you," Flo said, thrusting her phone in your direction.
You squinted at the screen, trying to make sense of the email she was showing you. "A job at Quadrant? Flo, I’m studying fashion design, not... whatever that is."
Flo looked up, her brows furrowed as if you’d just said something ridiculous. "What do you mean? It can be. Look at Tommy Hilfiger. Or Lewis Hamilton—his fashion work, hosting the Met Gala, working with big brands. F1’s bigger than you think, and it’s not just about cars."
"Haha, Flo, what are you talking about?" you said, shaking your head at the idea. "F1 is not really the place I want to be for my fashion stuff."
You paused, realizing you hadn’t really thought about it like that before. You’d never paid much attention to Formula 1, aside from the occasional updates Flo gave you about Lando. It had been years since you'd spent any real time with him. As kids, you'd catch fleeting glimpses of each other whenever he wasn’t off karting or, later, racing. But you knew Lewis Hamilton. He had enormous influence. He’d collaborated with brands you admired and pushed boundaries in the fashion world.
"Maybe not," Flo said, leaning forward with a knowing grin. "But there could be great opportunities"
"And trust me, Quadrant desperately needs someone like you. You’ve seen their merch, right? It’s..." She continued.
"Basic?" you offered, arching an eyebrow, Flo had already showed you the designs before in an attempt for you to improve them.
"Exactly! They’re looking for someone to revamp their designs. You’re always talking about how things could be better.''
You sipped your coffee, considering her words. It wasn’t your dream job, but the thought of improving a brand and the opportunities that came with it was oddly tempting.
"Fine," you said, setting your mug down. "I’ll think about it."
Flo grinned like she'd won the lottery. "You’ll kill it. Trust me."
-
The buzz around Quadrant’s new merch started slowly but picked up pace when a few photos of Lando wearing your designs at the paddock made their way online. Suddenly, it wasn’t just fans buying hoodies and tees, people in the fashion and sports world were taking notice, and journalists started to make comparisons you weren’t sure anyone expected.
“Is Lando Norris the next Lewis Hamilton?” one article headline read.
Another went deeper: “From driver to brand icon: How Lando Norris and Quadrant are reshaping athlete influence.”
It had been surreal to watch the shift, you had worked hard. Max had been supportive from the start, seeing the vision. Keegan had actually become a reliable creative partner, having similar styles and taste. Lando had been the same as when you were kids, you had barely seen him, too busy racing, handling his CEO duties from afar.
And now, after months of hard work, it was all leading to something bigger.
-
The first time at the paddock was overwhelming. The heat, the constant movement, the blur of media, mechanics, and drivers navigating their way through the chaos—it was a world you still didn’t quite belong to. Even though it did bid a uncanny resemblance to the chaos of the fashion world, which intrigued you.
You watched as the photographers snapped pictures of Lando and the team in their latest Quadrant pieces. The collection had taken months to finalize, and the response had been overwhelming—more press than usual, more attention, more recognition.
“You’re the one behind all this, aren’t you?”
You turned at the voice, surprised to find yourself face to face with Lewis Hamilton. He was dressed effortlessly, a silk LV shirt under an unbuttoned suit vest, sunglasses perched on his nose.
You blinked. “I—uh. Sorry?”
Lewis smiled knowingly. “The Quadrant collection. It’s you.”
You hesitated. “I mean… it’s a team effort.”
“Sure,” he said, his grin widening. “But I know talent when I see it.”
Her stomach flipped. Compliments were one thing, but this—coming from him—felt different.
“I’ve been following your work,” Lewis continued, slipping his hands into his pockets. “You’ve got a fresh perspective. Louis Vuitton is partnering with F1. They want to bring in new talent, I tipped you.” Your breath caught. “Are you serious?”
“Dead serious.”
You stared at him, waiting for the catch, but there wasn’t one. He was just… offering this. Just like that.
“I—” You glanced over at the Quadrant shoot, where Lando was laughing with the guys, completely unaware of the conversation happening across the paddock. “Thank you so much.”
Lewis smiled. “You’ll be hearing from them soon. Excited to work together.”
And with that, he was gone, disappearing into the paddock like he hadn’t just cracked your entire world open in a two-minute conversation. Flo had turned to be right after all.
-
Louis Vuitton had officially announced their F1 partnership, and with it, their campaign featuring a select group of drivers. The second she saw Lando’s name on the list, you knew there was no avoiding it. You hadn’t expected it, even though it made sense after Quadrant’s succes and having already worked together. Still, you hadn’t expected to be working with him again, especially not like this. He hadn't shown too much emotion when you left Quadrant, but you knew he wasn't happy about it.
Now, standing in the Louis Vuitton studio, flipping through the fitting schedule, you could feel his glare when the door opened before looking up.
"From Quadrant to Louis V," Lando mused, his voice light but edged with something unreadable. "Look at us."
You finally glanced up. He walked around inspecting the room, sunglasses perched on his head, fingers brushing against the fabric of a tailored jacket. His expression was casual, like he wasn’t really thinking about what he’d just said. Like it was just an observation.
You gave a small shrug. "Who would've thought."
He huffed a quiet laugh, shaking his head as he turned toward the fitting area. "Thought you could get rid of me, huh?"
“Alright, first look,” you said, flipping through your notes without looking up.
Lando sighed dramatically. “Do I really need to try all of these on?”
You shot him a look. “Unless you suddenly developed a sense of style overnight, yes.”
He rolled his eyes but didn’t argue, grabbing the set from the rack.
You turned you back as he changed, focusing on adjusting the pins on one of the outfits. It wasn’t the first time you’d been in a fitting with Lando, but this was different. The Louis Vuitton studio was quieter than Quadrant HQ, the lighting softer, there was no Max, no Keegan, no distractions.
“Okay,” Lando said, stepping forward. “What do you think?”
You turned—and fuck.
The suit fit him unfairly well. The sharp tailoring, the way the fabric moved with him—it was annoyingly perfect. Which meant you had done a great job.
You forced yourself to be professional, stepping closer to fix his collar. “Hold still.”
Lando stayed quiet as you smoothed the lapels, fingers brushing against his chest. The silence felt thick, aware of how close you were.
“Looks good,” you said, voice even. “But the pants need adjusting.”
You knelt down, reaching for the hem.
You could feel his eyes on you as you adjusted the fabric, fingers skimming his ankle, making sure the length was right. You refused to look up, but you could hear him breathe in, then exhale slowly.
“Comfortable down there?” he asked, voice casual, but you could hear his smirk.
You rolled your eyes, unable for him to see. “Don’t flatter yourself.”
Lando huffed out a laugh, but when you did glance up—just for a second—his jaw was tight. Like he was the one struggling.
You stood, smoothing out the jacket. “Alright,” you said, stepping back, regaining distance. “I think we’re done here.”
Lando tilted his head. “You sure? Thought you liked bossing me around now.”
You smirked. “If I really wanted to boss you around, Lando, you’d know it.”
He blinked, caught off guard for just a second.
Then he grinned. “Noted.”
WN: new storyyyy wooooop, literally already had this fashion job at quadrant in my drafts and then the LV partnership was announced i had to implement that and post it

ʚ・carlos sainz
the sound of the front door slamming shut echoed through the apartment, the soft click of the lock settling into place as carlos stood in the hallway, his hand still hovering over the doorknob. he had waited for this moment—waiting to say the right words, to fix everything—but the silence that met him only confirmed what he already knew.
he stepped inside, the familiar scent of your perfume and the slight clutter of your things tugging at his heart. the apartment felt empty now, devoid of your presence, and the weight of the last few weeks settled heavily on his shoulders.
he could still remember the last conversation you had, your words sharp, but your heart breaking beneath them. “you promised me it was just an act, carlos. you said you’d never let her get to you, that it was all for the public. but you chose her over me. you chose everything you built with her over what we had.”
and just like that, the distance between you two became something unbridgeable.
he let out a frustrated breath, running a hand through his hair as he paced around the living room. he had been so sure of himself when the decision was made. it seemed like the right thing to do at the time—to keep up the image, to follow the plan that everyone said would help his career. but now, standing in the quiet space you’d shared, it was clear how wrong he’d been.
his phone buzzed on the coffee table, the screen lighting up with your name. his heart skipped a beat, but he didn’t reach for it. he couldn’t. not now.
he knew it was too late to fix this.
the sound of the door opening behind him made him freeze. it was you—back to grab the last of your things, to finally close the chapter.
“carlos.” your voice was soft, but it carried a weight of finality.
he turned to face you, his heart sinking at the sight of your suitcase in hand, the look of exhaustion and pain etched into your face. “i didn’t want this to happen,” he said quietly, his throat tight with emotion. “i thought i could make it work, that i could juggle it all. but i messed up.”
you shook your head, a bitter smile on your lips. “it’s too late for apologies, carlos. you made your choice. and now, you have to live with it.”
“i know i messed up,” he admitted, taking a step forward, his voice pleading. “i didn’t think it would turn into this—into us being torn apart like this. i thought i could keep pretending, that it wouldn’t change what we had. but it did. and now…” his voice faltered, and for the first time, he didn’t have the words to make it right.
you stared at him for a long moment, your eyes filled with hurt, but also a resignation he couldn’t deny. “you think i didn’t know?” you asked, your voice steady despite the pain that lingered in it. “i knew, carlos. i knew it was coming. you’re in the spotlight. i wasn’t naïve enough to think it would last forever.”
“i never wanted to lose you,” he said desperately, taking another step forward, but you stepped back, shaking your head.
“but you did,” you whispered, your voice breaking as you looked down at your suitcase. “you lost me when you chose her. when you let it go too far. and now… now it’s too late to fix it.”
carlos reached out, but there was a chasm between you two now—one he knew he could never cross again. “please,” he begged, his voice cracking. “i was wrong. i never wanted to hurt you. i should’ve never let it go this far.”
but you had already made up your mind. “i thought i could handle it. i thought i could handle being second place to a pr stunt. but i can’t, carlos. not anymore.”
he stared at you, the weight of his actions finally hitting him. he had taken you for granted, assumed you’d always be there, that you would always wait for him to realize what he had. but now, he understood. it wasn’t about the mistakes—it was about the time he wasted. and it was too late.
you lifted the strap of your bag over your shoulder, standing tall despite the pain. “goodbye, carlos,” you said softly, turning toward the door. “i hope one day you realize what you lost.”
he stood there, frozen, as you walked out of the apartment, the door clicking shut behind you.
the silence that followed felt louder than any argument, any apology. and for the first time, carlos understood that some things, no matter how hard you try, couldn’t be fixed.
it was too late.
ʚ・charles leclerc
the dim light from the lamp by the window barely illuminated the room, casting long shadows on the walls. charles sat on the edge of the bed, his hands clasped tightly together, his head hung low. you had just come back from packing the last of your things. the suitcases were by the door, but you hadn’t left yet. not yet.
you could feel his eyes on you, even without looking. every step you took seemed to echo in the silence that stretched between you, the unspoken words heavy in the air. but you didn’t need to speak anymore. everything had already been said in the glances, the quiet moments, the way he had pulled away from you without ever saying the words.
“i’m sorry.” his voice cracked as he spoke, though he didn’t look up at you, his gaze fixed on the floor beneath him.
the words stung more than they should. it wasn’t the first time he had apologized. it wasn’t even the first time he had said he was sorry for “everything.” but this time, there was something different about it. it felt final, like a goodbye.
you wiped away the tear that slipped down your cheek, shaking your head. “sorry doesn’t change anything anymore, charles.”
his eyes lifted, and the pain you saw there made your heart ache even more. he opened his mouth to speak, but the words caught in his throat. instead, he stood up slowly, walking over to where you stood by the door, but not close enough to touch you.
“i never wanted to hurt you,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper. “i never wanted any of this to happen. but somewhere along the way, i lost myself. i thought i could handle everything—being in the spotlight, being who i am—and still be the person you needed me to be. but i failed you.”
the rawness in his voice made your chest tighten, the truth settling in like a weight on your heart. “i waited, charles,” you whispered. “i waited for you to come back to me. i waited for you to choose us—choose me—but you kept choosing everything else. your career. the team. the world watching. you even chose her, and i wasn’t enough anymore.”
“i didn’t mean for it to be like this.” his words were desperate now, each one edged with regret. he reached for your hand, but you pulled away, the distance between you both widening as the hurt you both had kept buried started to pour out.
“i wanted you to choose me, charles,” you said, your voice cracking, tears streaming down your face now. “i wanted you to want me. but instead, i was just the person you left behind when things got hard. when the pressure was too much. when it wasn’t convenient for you. you never saw how much it hurt me to watch you fall away from me, little by little.”
he reached for you again, this time his fingers brushing the edge of your sleeve, but you stepped back, shaking your head. “you don’t get to do this,” you whispered, voice shaking. “you don’t get to apologize now. you don’t get to come back after you’ve already pulled away. because you’ve already made your choice, charles.”
“i never stopped loving you,” he said, his voice breaking as his emotions spilled over. his eyes were pleading, desperate, but it wasn’t enough. “i never stopped wanting you.”
“i know,” you said, choking on your own tears. “but love isn’t enough when you don’t show up. love isn’t enough when you choose everything else over the person who’s standing right in front of you, waiting for you to come back, love isn't enough when you've already betrayed me.”
the silence between you both was unbearable. the love you once shared felt like a ghost, haunting every word, every glance. charles stood in front of you, broken, as if everything he had done had led to this moment—the moment when he realized too late what he had lost.
“i’m so sorry,” he whispered again, his voice trembling. “i never meant to push you away.”
but you could feel it in his eyes—the regret, the realization that he hadn’t fought for you. not enough. he hadn’t fought for the one thing that mattered most. and now it was too late.
“i loved you, charles,” you said, your voice barely audible. “but love isn’t supposed to hurt like this. it’s not supposed to make you feel invisible, i'm not supposed to feel like second. and i can’t do it anymore.”
you could hear him take a sharp breath as if he was going to say something—anything—but the words never came. there was nothing left to say.
you turned, walking slowly toward the door, but before you could reach it, charles whispered one last time.
“please don’t go.”
the sound of his voice cracked something deep within you, but you couldn’t turn around. you couldn’t look at him again and see the man who had once promised to never let you go—because now, he was the one who had let you slip away.
you paused at the door, your hand resting on the knob. you wanted to turn around, to run into his arms and forget everything that had happened. but you knew better now.
“goodbye, charles,” you whispered, your voice steady despite the ache that threatened to swallow you whole.
and when you left, the apartment was silent.
charles stood there, the weight of his choices suffocating him, as he realized that some things, no matter how much you wish they could be fixed, couldn’t be undone. the love he had taken for granted had slipped through his fingers, and now it was gone.
and it was too late.
ʚ・lando norris
lando smiled at you when he saw you, but it was strained. forced, even. the usual warmth in his expression was missing.
“hey,” he said softly, sitting down across from you. his fingers drummed nervously on the edge of his cup, a habit you knew all too well.
“hey,” you replied, trying to keep your voice steady. “it’s been a while.”
“yeah,” he said, running a hand through his hair. “i’ve been…” he trailed off, clearly unsure how to explain everything that had been going on. how could he?
but you didn’t need him to say it. you already knew. the tabloids had made it all too clear—the constant photos of him with her, the whispers about their blossoming romance, the way his eyes had started to light up in a way that had never happened when he was with you.
you knew who “she” was. the girl they’d set him up with for publicity. the girl who was supposed to be just a temporary distraction, someone to help with the image. but somehow, in the chaos of it all, he had started to look at her the way he once looked at you.
you took a slow breath, trying to push the sting from your chest. “i saw the photos,” you said quietly. “i saw you with her.”
lando’s eyes flickered to yours, and he opened his mouth, then closed it again. “it’s not what it looks like,” he began, but you shook your head, cutting him off.
“i’m not stupid, lando,” you said, your voice quiet but firm. “i’ve known for a while now. i can see it in the way you look at her. i saw it in your eyes the last time we were together. the way you pulled away from me, as if everything i had to offer wasn’t enough. as if she was what you really wanted.”
he looked at you, his face softening, guilt overtaking the nerves that had been there moments before. “it wasn’t supposed to happen like this,” he said quietly. “i thought it was just an act—just something to keep up for the cameras. but somewhere along the way, it wasn’t an act anymore. i…” he paused, eyes searching yours for any sign that you might understand, but you didn’t. you couldn’t.
“you fell in love with her,” you whispered, the words tasting bitter on your tongue.
lando flinched, his eyes brimming with regret, but he didn’t deny it. “i didn’t mean to,” he said, his voice breaking. “i thought it was just a job. just something i had to do. but she… she started to mean more to me than i ever thought she would. i didn’t know how to stop it. and i didn’t know how to come back to you after it happened.”
your heart shattered in that moment. you had known this was coming, had tried to ignore the signs, but hearing him admit it made it feel real. and it hurt more than you could have imagined.
“why didn’t you fight for me?” you asked, your voice trembling with the weight of all the hurt you had carried for weeks. “why didn’t you choose me? i was here, lando. i was always here.”
“i thought i could have both,” he said softly, his eyes filled with shame. “i thought i could keep her in the public eye and still be with you, but i was wrong. i let myself get caught up in the image, in the expectations. i wasn’t fair to you, and i’m sorry.”
the apology, though it was heartfelt, didn’t reach you. you had waited, hoped that he would come back to you, that he would see that you were the one who had always been there, the one who truly loved him. but now, as he sat there, his eyes searching yours for forgiveness, you realized that the lando you had known was no longer the same.
“you promised me it was just a pr stunt,” you said, your voice breaking. “you promised me that it wasn’t real. but now you’re telling me that it was? you’re telling me that you fell in love with someone else, someone you were supposed to be faking it with?”
“i never wanted this,” he said, his voice cracking. “i never wanted to hurt you. but i lost sight of what mattered. and now…” he trailed off, unable to finish.
you stood up, your hands shaking as you grabbed your bag. “i can’t do this anymore, lando,” you whispered. “i waited for you to come back, but you chose her. and now, there’s nothing left.”
lando stood up too, reaching out for you, but you stepped back, the distance between you both growing with every second. “please,” he said, his voice desperate. “please don’t leave like this.”
but you had already made your decision. you turned to walk away, your heart heavy with the weight of everything you had hoped for, and everything you had lost.
and as you stepped out of the café, the finality of it hit you. you had known it would happen sooner or later. but now, with him standing there, lost in his choices, it felt real. and it hurt more than you could ever have imagined.
ʚ・oscar piastri
oscar stopped in front of you, his hands tucked into his jacket pockets, and offered a small, apologetic smile that didn’t reach his eyes. “hey,” he said quietly.
“hey,” you replied, your voice steadier than you felt. you could see the tension in his posture, the way his shoulders were stiff, as if he were bracing himself for something difficult. and you knew exactly what it was.
“i know you’ve been waiting for me to explain,” oscar began, taking a deep breath, and you felt the air around you grow heavier. “i’ve been putting this off for too long, and i should’ve told you sooner…”
the words lingered between you, unsaid, but both of you knew. you knew what was coming. the truth that you had refused to admit to yourself, the truth that oscar had been hiding for weeks now, ever since he’d been thrust into the spotlight with her.
his team had set him up with someone—someone with the right image, the right look for the media. a relationship, a story that would sell. it had started out as a distraction, a way to fulfill expectations. but somewhere along the way, oscar had lost himself in it. and you were left behind, the person who was no longer part of the story.
“i didn’t want it to happen like this,” he said softly, sitting beside you, the space between you two now palpable. “i didn’t want to hurt you. i told myself it was just for the cameras, just for the public. but i…” he hesitated, as if searching for the right words, but there was nothing that could soften this blow.
“you fell for her,” you said, the words escaping before you could stop them.
oscar flinched, his eyes glancing away, and you knew it was true. “i didn’t mean for it to happen. but she’s different. i’m not saying i didn’t care about you, but i got caught up in it. i didn’t realize until it was too late, that what i had with her wasn’t just pretend anymore. it wasn’t just a pr stunt.”
your heart shattered in that instant. you had known, somewhere deep down, that this was always the risk. the truth was, you had always been a shadow—someone in the background while the world paid attention to the story they wanted to sell. but hearing it from oscar, hearing him say the words out loud, made it all too real.
“you promised me it wasn’t real,” you whispered, the sting of betrayal evident in your voice. “you promised me it was just for the cameras, just for the image. and i…” your throat tightened, the tears threatening to spill, but you held them back. “i waited for you, oscar. i waited for you to come back. but you didn’t. you fell for her, and now, it’s too late.”
he looked at you then, his eyes filled with something close to regret, but it wasn’t enough. “i never meant for it to happen like this,” he repeated softly, almost pleading. “but i can’t lie to you anymore. i can’t pretend that what i have with her doesn’t feel real. i’ve hurt you, and i know it’s too late to take it back.”
the silence stretched between you both, thick and suffocating. you couldn’t find the words to express the pain—how much it hurt to hear him say it out loud, how much it hurt to realize that the love you thought was yours was never really there at all.
“i waited for you,” you said, your voice breaking, unable to hold it together anymore. “i waited, and i trusted you. but you chose her. and now, i can’t be here anymore.”
oscar reached out, his hand hovering in the air as if he were trying to find a way to bridge the gap between you, but you pulled back. the space between you felt too wide, too deep for anything to fill it now. “i’m sorry,” he said, his voice low, the words hollow and empty between you. “i never meant to hurt you. you mean everything to me, but i’ve already made my choice, and i can’t go back.”
you shook your head, standing up, the tears finally spilling over, but you couldn’t bring yourself to care. “i loved you,” you said quietly. “i gave you everything, oscar. and you threw it all away for something that wasn’t real.”
oscar stayed seated, his head in his hands, the weight of the realization falling heavily on him. but for you, it was already too late.
you turned and walked away without another word, your heart breaking with every step. you knew it wasn’t just the loss of him—it was the loss of the love you thought you had, the love you thought was real.
and as you left, the painful truth settled deep in your bones: some things, no matter how much you wish otherwise, just weren’t meant to be.

— little hints f1 boys would give that they have a crush on you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
˒ ⌕ LANDO NORRIS
he is interested in all your passions and hobbies: even if it is something he knows little about, he’ll ask you about your passions or things you like to do to have more to talk about with you and to get to know you even better. he also likes to research on the internet and send you videos that he finds about your favorite topics and, when you least expect it, he will start conversations about it, leaving you surprised but happy to know that he puts a lot of effort into connecting with your world.
˒ ⌕ GEORSE RUSSELL
he always includes you in his plans: whenever he travels, he talks as if you’re going too, without even inviting you directly. when you ask him about it, he usually says, “well, you’re going with me, aren’t you?” and when you can’t go because of work, he gets really frustrated, but he makes sure to keep you updated. he’s also always saying “we should check out that new place together… when are you free?” or “wouldn’t it be fun if you go with me for the next race?” he loves planting the idea of future moments with you, and he loves it when they actually come true.
˒ ⌕ SEBASTIAN VETTEL
he loves teasing you: he always looks for a way to tease you, but always with a touch of flirting, which leaves you wondering if it's really just a joke or if he means something with it. he also hates it when someone else does this and he doesn’t hide his anger, and it’s at this moment that you also don't miss the opportunity to tease him; and the look in his eyes tells you that in fact, he doesn’t tease you just for fun.
˒ ⌕ CARLOS SAINZ
he always offers to help you with whatever you need: no matter what you need, he will do whatever it takes for you and to make your life easier. he will get you a coffee (and a sweet treat) in minutes when you say you want it. he will buy you something you said you needed but couldn't because you were too busy. he will come to your house to fix that broken drawer. he will always be there for you, even when you don't ask him directly, he will be there.
˒ ⌕ CHARLES LECLERC
he always remembers little details about you: sometimes he'll casually mention something small that you've said in the past, like your favorite snack or a specific memory. and sometimes you're delightfully surprised by how accurately he tells you these things because you could swear he'd forgotten or didn't really care, but he's always paying extra attention to you and everything you say is important to him.
˒ ⌕ LEWIS HAMILTON
he always compliments you a lot: but they’re not generic compliments that you always hear, he focuses on unique characteristics of yours that he really admires, like “you always have a way of making everything more fun and cool” or “you always seem to know the right things to say”, he’s always complimenting you, and he always means it.
˒ ⌕ OSCAR PIASTRI
he always looks for reasons to text you: he likes to send you news about your favorite singers, bands, authors or something he knows you’ll like. it’s things like “you popped into my head when i saw this, and i had to share” or “doesn’t this remind you of that joke you made?” and he always tries to keep the conversation going, no matter what.
˒ ⌕ LIAM LAWSON
he is always your biggest fan: whatever you do, he gives you all the support and help in the world. he is always the first one to show up when you need encouragement, whether it’s to wish you good luck at an event or send you a bouquet of flowers with a little note, or a brief message saying that he believes in you, and that he knows everything will turn out fine. he also loves talking about you to people like “did you see what y/n did? she’s amazing, right?” he is your biggest fan, and he doesn’t hide it from anyone.
˒ ⌕ MAX VERSTAPPEN
he looks at you a lot: when you two make eye contact, you have to look at something else first because he can’t get enough of you - and he loves it when you get embarrassed about it. he also loves to admire you when you’re distracted and don’t realize he’s looking at you; he loves looking at you and learning your mannerisms. to him, you’re the most beautiful person he’s ever seen, and even though sometimes you catch him staring at you and ask him with a smile what he’s looking at, he doesn’t stop or give you a serious answer, which creates a spark of curiosity in you.

“Your fans are plotting on ripping my head off, do you see what they’re saying on twitter?!”
Lewis exclaimed and turned his phone to you, scrolling down his new notifications. You shift under the beds sheets to look at the screen, squinting slightly to read. The replies were filled with shock, as you expected, and some jokes here and there, but mostly shock. You cackle, your plump belly bouncing with every laugh.
“I can’t do anything about that! I told you if you got me pregnant again, I’d hurt you, but it looks like they’re wanting to do my dirty work”
You took the phone from his hands and cuddled up to his side as he covers the both of you with the beds duvet.
He scoffs. “Don’t act like you didn’t ask for it” Tucking his head beneath yours, he bites your neck, making you tuck your chin with a giggle.
“Shut up! That was in the moment…plus, you asked me to say it”
He hums and shakes his head, remembering the night you two conceived completely different than you.
“Nah. I don’t remember asking you to say you wanted another one of my kids. Actually, I remember what you said word for word if you want me to recite it” He mischievously clears his throat, but your hand had already made it’s way over his mouth to shut him up before he even started.
“If you say anything and my babies hear, it’s gonna be me and you” You threatened, Lewis’s eyes crinkling at the sides as he smiles widely underneath your hand.
Suddenly you felt your palm being wet, your instinct being to move. “EW! YOU LICKED ME!”
✮✮✮✮
💌—another reminder that this is NOT APART OF THE ACTUAL AU!! it’s just something cute i wanted to write as a scenario.

I've got you ... always
Summary: Working as a Mercedes engineer has always been challenging, but with men constantly looking down on you, it becomes unbearable. Lewis is quick to put a stop to it, and fight for justice.
Note: First of all, I want to thank all of you for the love you've shown me so far. I really appreciate it! 🤍 The reason I chose this storyline is to address the issue of sexism and misogyny in workplaces. Unfortunately, this still happens far too often, and with this fic, I hope to bring much-needed attention to this subject. Just know you're not alone 🫶

It had been nearly six years since I first joined Mercedes as an engineer.
Six years of intense work, late nights, early mornings, and a relentless pursuit of perfection in the world of Formula 1.
It was my dream job, one I had worked tirelessly to achieve.
But those six years also marked the time I’d spent with Lewis, six years of love, laughter, and challenges with the man who had become my everything.
I could still remember the day we met as if it were yesterday.
A bit of backstory:
I was the newest member of the Mercedes team, fresh out of a competitive hiring process, and I was determined to make an impression.
The first time I stepped into the paddock, I felt like an imposter among the sea of seasoned professionals.
My hands clutched my tablet like a lifeline as I walked into a strategy meeting, trying to suppress the nervous flutter in my chest.
Lewis was already there, sitting at the far end of the room. He looked relaxed, dressed casually in his signature streetwear style, yet exuding an unmistakable aura of confidence.
As I took a seat near the back, his eyes flicked toward me.
I was sure he wouldn’t even notice me, why would he?
I was just another new face among dozens of team members.
But then, he smiled.
It wasn’t one of those polite, obligatory smiles.
It was warm and genuine, as if he could sense my nerves and wanted to reassure me.
That smile was like a silent message:
You belong here.
Over the next few weeks, our paths crossed more frequently.
At first, it was just in passing, a quick hello in the garage, a casual “How’s it going?” during lunch breaks.
But it didn’t take long for us to start talking. Really talking.
It was during a particularly chaotic race weekend in Silverstone that our friendship began to solidify.
A last-minute weather change had thrown everyone into a frenzy, and I found myself staying late in the garage to run some last-minute simulations.
The paddock was nearly empty when Lewis walked in, still in his racing suit, and caught me muttering to myself as I tried to make sense of the data.
“Long night?” he asked, leaning against the workbench with a lopsided grin.
“You have no idea,” I replied with a tired laugh, glancing up from my screen.
He stayed and talked with me for over an hour, even offering a few insights that helped me crack the issue I was stuck on.
By the time he left, I realized that the nervousness I’d felt around him was gone.
He wasn’t just Lewis Hamilton, seven-time world champion.
He was kind, funny, and incredibly easy to talk to.
From that moment on, our friendship grew effortlessly.
Whether it was over post-race debriefs, team dinners, or stolen moments between the chaos of race weekends, we found ourselves drawn to each other.
We bonded over a shared love for what we did, but also over our differences, his world of high-speed fame and my quieter, behind-the-scenes role.
It wasn’t long before I realized my feelings for him had shifted.
I hadn’t planned on falling for him, but Lewis had a way of breaking down walls without even trying.
He made me laugh when I was stressed, listened intently when I rambled about work, and made me feel seen in a way I hadn’t experienced before.
One evening, after a long day at the factory, he invited me out for dinner.
It wasn’t anything fancy, just a cozy little restaurant tucked away.
Over plates of pasta and glasses of wine, we talked about everything from our childhoods to our dreams for the future.
By the end of the night, when he walked me to my car, he hesitated for just a moment before leaning in to kiss me.
That was the beginning of us.
For a long time, we kept our relationship private. We both wanted to protect what we had, to keep it ours without the scrutiny of the public eye.
But as the months turned into years, it became harder to hide.
Fans started noticing the subtle signs, the way Lewis would glance at me during interviews, or how I always seemed to be nearby during race weekends.
When we finally decided to go public, it wasn’t a grand announcement or a carefully curated statement.
It was a simple photo posted on Lewis’s Instagram.
We were in Monaco, sitting on a terrace overlooking the harbor, the golden light of sunset washing over us.
I didn’t even know he’d taken the picture until he showed it to me later that night.
“Should I post it?” he asked, his voice tentative.
I hesitated, thinking of the attention it would bring, but then I looked at him, at the way his eyes softened as he waited for my answer.
“Yeah,” I said with a smile. “Let’s do it.”
The response back then was overwhelming.
Fans flooded the comments with messages of support, and the media couldn’t stop speculating about us.
But through it all, Lewis and I stayed grounded, reminding each other that our relationship wasn’t for anyone else.
It was for us.
One of the things that made our relationship so strong was our ability to communicate.
From the very beginning, we had promised to tell each other everything, our fears, our frustrations, our dreams.
No topic was off-limits.
Whether it was a rough qualifying session for him or a challenging project for me, we leaned on each other without hesitation.
At least, that’s how it used to be.
Tumblr media
Lately, I hadn’t been able to keep my promise to Lewis, to tell him everything, to lean on him like I always had.
The reason? Mark, Alan, and Greg.
They were three senior engineers on the team, men who had been with Mercedes long before I joined.
Older, more experienced, and as I had quickly discovered, painfully set in their ways.
From the very beginning, they had made it clear that they didn’t think I belonged.
I still remember the first time I overheard them.
It was during my second week on the job, and I was running a simulation late at night.
They didn’t realize I was in the corner of the garage, headphones off, sorting through notes.
“Hiring for diversity quotas,” Mark had muttered, his voice dripping with disdain.
“Yeah, they want to tick a box, so they bring in the fresh-faced rookie,” Alan had added with a chuckle.
Greg, ever the opportunist, chimed in,
“Let’s see how long she lasts when the pressure’s on.”
"She's better off making us a sandwich."
Their words had stung, sharp and bitter, but I had swallowed my pride.
I told myself that proving them wrong would be the best revenge.
I worked harder than I ever had in my life, triple-checking my calculations, volunteering for extra tasks, staying long hours to ensure that my work was flawless.
And for a while, I thought it had paid off.
At first, the snide remarks tapered off.
They didn’t engage with me much, but at least they stopped openly questioning my abilities.
I had even started to think that maybe, just maybe, I had earned their respect.
But lately, the comments had returned, and they were worse than ever.
It started subtly, dismissive sighs during meetings when I spoke, or whispered conversations that stopped the moment I entered the room.
Childish right?
Then the snark escalated, cutting through my carefully built confidence like a knife.
“Did you even double-check this?”
Alan had sneered last week after a team briefing, gesturing at the simulation results I’d spent days perfecting.
Greg, never one to miss a chance to pile on, smirked as he added,
“Leave the big decisions to people who actually know what they’re doing.”
Then Mark's voice was heard,
"Yeah, go do the laundry or something, whatever you women are good in."
It was always wrapped in the guise of banter, thinly veiled behind forced smiles and casual tones.
But I wasn’t naïve.
There was a sharpness to their words, a deliberate attempt to undermine me that cut deeper each time.
Even Mark, the one who usually played the “neutral” party, had started joining in.
During a debrief on a race strategy I’d helped design, he had scoffed and muttered,
“Well, I guess every team needs its token young genius.”
It was relentless.
Every day, there was something, a comment, a glance, a dismissive laugh that made my blood boil.
But I kept it all to myself.
I told myself that it wasn’t worth causing a scene, especially now.
Lewis had enough on his plate.
His move to Ferrari had been the talk of the motorsport world, and while he was excited for the new challenge, the transition was anything but easy.
There were endless negotiations, media commitments, and the emotional weight of leaving the team that had been his family for over a decade.
I couldn’t bring this to him, not now.
Not when he was already stretched thin.
So, I stayed quiet.
I bit my tongue when Alan questioned my calculations, ignored Greg’s condescending remarks, and pretended not to hear Mark’s muttered jokes.
Each time, I told myself it was just words, that I could handle it.
But deep down, I wasn’t sure how much longer I could.
Lewis was busy.
I kept telling myself that over and over, like a mantra.
Between announcing his move to Ferrari, dealing with the media frenzy, juggling sponsorship demands, and the seemingly endless meetings, he had so much on his plate.
The last thing he needed was me adding my problems to the mix.
But today was different.
Tumblr media
The garage was buzzing with activity as we prepped for the upcoming race weekend.
The sound of drills, clinking tools, and the hum of engines filled the air, a symphony of chaos I had grown to love over the years.
I was stationed at my usual spot, hunched over a set of data sheets, meticulously double-checking the aerodynamics report for any inconsistencies.
I was deep in concentration, my pen scratching against the paper, when their voices drifted over.
Mark’s gruff tone was unmistakable.
“What’s the point of her even being here? Probably just a pretty face for the team photos.”
I froze, my hand pausing mid-note.
My heart sank, but I willed myself to stay calm, telling myself to ignore it like always.
Alan, never one to pass up an opportunity, snorted.
“Yeah, but even that’s debatable.”
Their laughter was casual, almost conversational, but the sting of their words hit me like a whip.
Then Greg joined in, his tone dripping with mockery.
“She’s only here because she’s shagging the driver or maybe even the boss. Imagine thinking she got this job on her own merit.”
Mark laughed before adding,
"Maybe we can all ask her for a turn as well, if it's that easy to shag the boss, we might have a chance too."
"At the end of the day, that's all they're good at. Women don't belong in the motorsport world."
The room was filled with their laughter.
That was it.
My pen slipped from my fingers, clattering onto the table as my hands began to shake.
I stared at the numbers on the page, but they were a blur, overshadowed by the burning heat of humiliation rising in my chest.
For years, I had endured their passive-aggressive comments, their dismissive attitudes, their constant undermining of my capabilities.
I had told myself it didn’t matter, that their opinions didn’t define me.
But hearing them reduce everything I had worked for, the late nights, the sweat, the tears, the sacrifices, to nothing more than being Lewis Hamilton’s girlfriend?
It was too much.
I clenched my fists under the table, my nails digging into my palms as I tried to hold it together.
But their laughter, light and cruel, echoed in my ears, shredding the last of my composure.
I pushed back my chair abruptly, the screech of metal against the concrete floor silencing the room for a brief moment.
My vision blurred with unshed tears as I grabbed my tablet and notes, clutching them to my chest like armor.
I didn’t dare look at them, I couldn’t.
My breath hitched, and my chest felt tight, like the walls were closing in.
I needed to get out. Now.
Without a word, I turned and stormed out of the garage, my footsteps heavy and uneven.
I didn’t care where I was going; I just needed space, air, something to stop the lump in my throat from turning into a sob.
As I walked away, their laughter faded into the background, but the words lingered, etched into my mind like a scar.
I didn’t know where I was going.
My feet carried me blindly, weaving through the maze of garages and team trailers until I found myself at the paddock’s edge.
It was quieter here, away from the relentless hum of activity, the chatter of crew members, and the ever-present cameras.
I sank onto a bench beneath the shade of a tree, my chest heaving as I tried to catch my breath.
Burying my face in my hands, I let out a shaky sigh.
My mind replayed their words like a broken record, each snide comment cutting deeper than the last.
"What’s the point of her being here?"
"Probably just a pretty face for the team photos."
"She’s only here because she’s shagging the driver."
The worst part was that they’d managed to plant a seed of doubt.
I had worked so hard to get here, put in countless hours, and sacrificed so much to prove myself in this male-dominated field.
And yet, in this moment, I felt like a fraud, like I didn’t belong.
“Y/n?”
The sound of Lewis’s voice cut through the fog in my mind.
I looked up sharply, my breath catching when I saw him standing a few feet away, his brow furrowed in concern.
He must have followed me.
My stomach twisted in a mix of guilt and relief.
The last thing I wanted was for him to see me like this, vulnerable, crumbling under the weight of my emotions.
“What’s wrong my love?” he asked, stepping closer and crouching down in front of me.
His warm, dark eyes searched mine, his hands gently resting on my knees.
The concern etched into his face made my heart ache.
“Nothing,” I lied, quickly wiping at my face.
Lewis raised an eyebrow, his expression soft but skeptical.
“Don’t do that. Don’t shut me out.”
I hesitated, my resolve cracking under his steady gaze.
His presence was grounding, but I didn’t want to pull him into my mess.
“It’s nothing, really,” I tried again, forcing a weak smile.
“I just… I’m tired.”
“Y/n.”
His voice was low and firm, but there was a tenderness to it that made my throat tighten.
“Please. Talk to me.”
That was all it took.
The dam broke, and the words spilled out in a rush.
I told him everything, the comments, the dismissive attitudes, the years of enduring their quiet but cutting condescension.
My voice wavered as I explained how it had worsened recently, how their snide remarks had crossed the line into outright insults.
“I didn’t want to tell you,” I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper.
“You’ve been under so much pressure with everything, Ferrari, the media, the season. I didn’t want to be another problem for you to deal with.”
Lewis listened intently, his face unreadable as I spoke.
But the slight tightening of his jaw and the way his hands gripped mine told me he was anything but indifferent.
When I finished, there was a long silence.
I stared down at my hands, afraid to meet his eyes.
“They’ve been doing this for years?”
he finally asked, his voice low and tightly controlled.
I nodded, biting my lip. “It wasn’t always this bad, but yeah.”
“And you didn’t tell me?”
“I didn’t want to add to your stress,” I said softly.
“You’ve been dealing with so much already.”
Lewis let out a slow, measured breath, his grip on my hands tightening.
“Y/n, nothing, and I mean nothing, is more important to me than you.”
His voice softened, but there was a fierce protectiveness beneath his words.
“You should’ve told me. They don’t get to treat you like this. Ever. No woman deserves this kind of treatment.”
I opened my mouth to respond, but Lewis was already standing.
He pulled his phone from his pocket, his expression dark with determination.
“Lewis, what are you doing?” I asked, standing as well.
He glanced at me, his jaw set.
“I’m making sure this doesn’t happen again.”
I reached out, touching his arm.
“Lewis, please—”
“Y/n.” He turned to face me fully, his eyes locking onto mine.
“You’ve put up with this for far too long. I’m not letting it slide, and neither should you. This is your workplace, your passion. You shouldn’t have to deal with people who try to tear you down.”
His words hit me hard, a mix of anger and love wrapped in every syllable.
I nodded slowly, my throat tight with emotion.
“Good,” he said, his voice softening as he pulled me into a hug.
His arms wrapped around me tightly, and for a moment, I let myself melt into his warmth.
“I’ve got you,” he murmured into my hair. “Always.”
Tumblr media
By mid-afternoon, the entire paddock was filled with noice.
Meetings with Toto were rarely casual, and the tension in the air was palpable.
I stayed out of sight, nerves twisting in my stomach.
When Lewis had assured me earlier that he wouldn’t let this go, I’d believed him.
But seeing the immediate repercussions unfold was a different kind of catharsis.
The walk to Toto’s office felt longer than it should have, every step heavy with anticipation.
Lewis had his hand firmly on the small of my back, guiding me through the bustling paddock.
His touch was grounding, but my nerves still prickled under my skin.
“Relax,” he said softly, leaning closer.
“We’re handling this together.”
I nodded, though my stomach was a tangled mess of knots.
The last thing I wanted was to cause drama, but after years of enduring Mark, Alan, and Greg’s behavior, I couldn’t keep quiet any longer.
When we arrived at Toto’s office, Lewis didn’t bother knocking lightly.
He rapped his knuckles on the door with purpose.
“Come in,” came the familiar voice from inside.
Toto was seated behind his desk, a stack of papers neatly arranged to one side.
His brows lifted in mild surprise when he saw the two of us enter together, but he quickly gestured for us to take a seat.
“This seems serious,” Toto remarked, his sharp eyes flicking between us.
"What’s going on?”
Lewis glanced at me, silently asking if I wanted to start.
I hesitated, my fingers twisting in my lap.
Noticing my reluctance, Lewis leaned forward.
“It’s about some of the team dynamics,” he began, his voice calm but tinged with an unmistakable edge.
“Specifically, the way Mark, Alan, and Greg have been treating Y/n.”
Toto’s expression shifted, his posture straightening.
“Go on.”
I took a deep breath, summoning the courage to speak.
“For years now, they’ve made comments, snide remarks about my qualifications, my presence here. It started when I joined, but I brushed it off because I was new, and I thought I had to prove myself. But lately…”
My voice wavered, and I swallowed hard to steady it.
“Lately, it’s escalated. They’ve been openly dismissive of my work, undermining me during meetings, and even questioning my position on the team. Today, they went too far.”
Toto’s jaw tightened, and he leaned forward, resting his elbows on the desk.
“What happened today?”
Lewis’s hand found mine, giving it a reassuring squeeze as I recounted the incident.
“They implied I’m only here because I’m dating Lewis and that I used my body to get my position,”
I said quietly, the words tasting bitter in my mouth.
“And that I didn’t earn my role.”
Toto exhaled sharply, his expression darkening.
“That’s not all,” Lewis added, his tone hardening.
“This has been going on for years, Toto. Years. Y/n didn’t tell me sooner because she didn’t want to cause problems, but that’s no excuse. Those three have created a toxic environment, and it stops now.”
Toto’s gaze shifted to me, his stern demeanor softening slightly.
“Why didn’t you come to me earlier, Y/L/N? This isn’t the kind of behavior we tolerate here.”
I shrugged, feeling small under his scrutiny.
“I didn’t want to be seen as a troublemaker. They’ve been here longer than I have, and I didn’t think anyone would take my word over theirs. Plus, I didn’t want to add more stress to an already intense environment.”
Toto shook his head, his voice firm but understanding.
“You should never have to tolerate that. Not here, not anywhere. The Mercedes team prides itself on being a family. What you’ve described is unacceptable, and I take full responsibility for not noticing it sooner.”
Lewis leaned back in his chair, his jaw still tight.
“What’s the plan, Toto? Because I’m not letting this slide.”
Toto nodded, already making notes on a pad in front of him.
“First, I’ll be speaking to Mark, Alan, and Greg individually. They’ll be given the chance to explain themselves, not that there’s much room for justification here. If their behavior aligns with what you’ve described, they won’t be part of this team by the end of the day.”
A weight lifted off my chest at his words, but the tension in the room remained palpable.
“I want to be there,” Lewis said firmly.
Toto raised an eyebrow.
“Lewis—”
“No,” Lewis interrupted.
“This is personal. They didn’t just disrespect Y/n, they disrespected the team, the values we stand for, and me by extension. I need to make it clear that this behavior won’t be tolerated. From anyone.”
Toto regarded him for a moment before nodding.
“Fine. But let me handle the disciplinary side. You can say your piece, but I’ll deliver the consequences.”
Lewis nodded, satisfied.
“That works for me.”
Toto turned back to me, his expression softening once more.
“Y/n, I’m sorry you’ve had to endure this. If there’s anything else you need, support, time off, anything, let me know. I’ll make sure you feel safe and valued here.”
“Thank you,” I murmured, my voice thick with emotion.
Lewis stood, pulling me up with him.
“We appreciate it, Toto. Let us know when the meeting is.”
“You’ll hear from me shortly,”
Toto promised, standing to shake Lewis’s hand before giving me a reassuring nod.
As we left the office, I felt a sense of relief wash over me.
For the first time in years, I didn’t feel alone in this fight.
Lewis wrapped an arm around my shoulders as we walked down the corridor.
“We’ve got this,” he said softly, his voice full of conviction.
I leaned into him, a small smile tugging at my lips.
“Yeah, we do.”
Tumblr media
Toto wasn’t one to waste time.
Within the hour, Mark, Alan, and Greg were called into his office one by one.
The first to arrive was Mark.
When he stepped in, he wore his usual smug expression, likely thinking this was just another routine meeting.
But Toto’s steely gaze and the presence of Lewis, standing tall with his arms crossed by the window, quickly shattered that notion.
“Have a seat, Mark,”
Toto said curtly, gesturing to the chair across from his desk.
Mark sat, shifting uncomfortably as he glanced between Toto and Lewis.
“What’s this about?”
Toto wasted no time.
“It’s about your behavior toward Y/L/N,” he said, his voice sharp and unwavering.
“I’ve been informed of your repeated condescension, disrespect, and comments that have no place in this team, or any professional setting.”
Mark blinked, caught off guard.
“What? That’s not true. I—”
“Don’t bother lying,” Lewis cut in, his voice cold and firm.
He stepped closer, his dark eyes fixed on Mark.
“We’ve both heard enough from Y/n and other team members. You’ve been targeting her for years, haven’t you? Questioning her qualifications, making snide remarks about her role here, and today, outright implying she only got her position because of me.”
Mark’s mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water.
“I… Look, it was just banter. No harm meant.”
“Banter?” Toto echoed, his tone dripping with disbelief.
“You call undermining one of the most talented engineers on this team banter? You call questioning her abilities and belittling her contributions banter?”
Mark leaned forward, desperation creeping into his voice.
“Toto, I didn’t mean anything by it! I was just—”
“Enough,” Toto interrupted, his voice cutting through the room like a blade.
“I won’t tolerate excuses. You’ve created a hostile environment for one of your colleagues, and that is unacceptable. You’ve not only disrespected Y/L/N but also the principles this team stands for. I don’t care how long you’ve been here, Mark. Your behavior is grounds for immediate dismissal.”
Mark paled, his smugness vanishing entirely.
“Dismissal? Wait, Toto, please. I’ve been with this team for years. You can’t just—”
“I can, and I will,” Toto said, his voice resolute.
“Pack your things. Security will escort you out by the end of the day.”
Mark turned to Lewis, desperation in his eyes.
“Lewis, you can’t agree with this. We’re teammates, for God’s sake!”
Lewis’s expression didn’t waver.
“You stopped being my teammate the moment you disrespected Y/n. Pack your things, Mark.”
Mark’s shoulders slumped, and he left the office in silence.
Tumblr media
Next was Alan.
He walked in with a similar air of confidence, though it quickly dissipated when he noticed the tense atmosphere.
“Toto,” Alan began, sitting down and glancing uneasily at Lewis.
“What’s going on?”
Toto leaned forward, his hands clasped on the desk.
“What’s going on, Alan, is that your behavior toward Y/L/N has come to light. Years of dismissive comments, snide remarks, and today, a blatant attack on her credibility. Care to explain yourself?”
Alan frowned, leaning back in his chair.
“Look, I might’ve been a little hard on her, but it’s nothing personal. She’s young and still learning. I thought she could use a bit of tough love.”
Lewis scoffed from his spot by the window.
“Tough love? Is that what you call undermining her at every turn and insulting her in front of the team?”
Alan shifted uncomfortably.
“She’s good at her job, I’ll give her that. But come on, Lewis, you can’t deny people have wondered if her connection to you played a part in her being hired. It’s not like I said anything everyone wasn’t already thinking.”
Lewis took a step forward, his fists clenching at his sides.
“The only reason anyone would think that is because people like you spread that garbage around."
"Y/n earned her place on this team through her hard work and talent, not because of me."
We didn't even know each other when she joined. And even if, she didn’t have to prove anything to anyone, the way you’ve treated her is disgusting.”
Toto’s expression darkened further.
“Alan, you’ve been with Mercedes long enough to know we value respect and inclusivity above all else. What you’ve done isn’t just a breach of trust, it’s a breach of the very foundation of this team. Your actions have consequences. You’re fired, effective immediately.”
Alan stood abruptly, his face red with anger.
“You’re seriously going to throw away years of experience over a few jokes?”
“Yes,” Toto said bluntly.
“And I suggest you leave now before you embarrass yourself further.”
Alan glared at both of them before storming out, muttering under his breath.
Tumblr media
Finally, it was Greg’s turn.
Unlike the others, Greg walked in looking visibly nervous.
He barely met Toto’s eyes as he sat down, fidgeting with his hands.
“Greg,” Toto began, his voice steady but firm.
“You know why you’re here.”
Greg nodded, swallowing hard. “Yeah… yeah, I figured.”
“Then you know the kind of behavior we’re addressing,” Toto continued.
“You’ve contributed to a toxic work environment for Y/L/N and others. What do you have to say for yourself?”
Greg hesitated, glancing at Lewis, who was staring at him with barely concealed anger.
“I—I don’t have an excuse. I guess… I thought it was harmless, but it clearly wasn’t. I crossed a line, and I’m sorry.”
Toto’s brow furrowed.
“You thought it was harmless? You’ve made Y/n feel unwelcome and disrespected in her own workplace. That’s not harmless, it’s damaging. Apologizing now doesn’t erase what you’ve done.”
“I know,” Greg said quickly, his voice trembling.
“I know I messed up, and I’ll do whatever it takes to make it right.”
“It’s too late for that,” Lewis interjected, his voice low but full of authority.
“You had years to change your behavior, and you didn’t. You don’t get to stay on this team after what you’ve done.”
Toto nodded in agreement.
“Greg, I appreciate that you’re taking responsibility, but the damage has been done. You’re no longer part of this team. Security will escort you out shortly.”
Greg’s shoulders sagged, and he nodded, standing to leave.
“My deepest apologies,” he said quietly before walking out.
Tumblr media
By the end of the day, the three men were gone, and the Mercedes team felt lighter.
Word of the firings spread quickly, and several team members quietly expressed their relief and support for you.
Back in the garage, Lewis pulled me into a quiet corner.
“It’s done,” he said softly, brushing a strand of hair from my face.
I nodded, a weight lifting off my chest.
“Thank you, Lew. For standing by me.”
“Always sweetheart,” he said, pressing a kiss to my forehead.
“No one messes with my girl.”
To all the women facing sexism at work, school, home or online: You are strong, capable, and deserving of respect. Don’t let anyone diminish your worth. Your voice matters, and you are making a difference just by being you. Keep pushing forward.

YOUR PRECIOUS ATTENTION | LN4
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
( lando doesn't like when you give your attention to someone else, when all he wants is to be with you )
warning : fluff, some jealousy
word count : 2.7k
!! english not my first language !!
you greet acquaintances as you walk and try to find your way in the paddock. you walk towards the McLaren garage and then your eyes search for your boyfriend. shortly after, you find him next to oscar and some engineers. they're talking and have serious faces. you want to greet them (lando actually) but you decide to not intrude their conversation because it looks serious and important, probably about the qualifications. so you wait. a little long. maybe a little too long. lando doesn't seem to have noticed you. well actually you arrived 30 minutes earlier than expected and that's why lando have no idea that you are here, waiting for him.
so you keep waiting. and waiting. time passes and now you've been waiting for 20 minutes. you know very well that the conversation was going to last a little longer, races are really important for lando and his team because it's their jobs. so instead of wasting your time and wait for him, you decide to take a walk inside the paddock, because as time passed you got bored.
a lot of people are present of course. engineers, journalists, racing teams, staff and the drivers' friends and family. but now you're used to that crowd. you're dating lando for quite a while now and attending almost all his races enabled you to be comfortable with this environment and atmosphere. and actually you really enjoy it. being able to meet new people, having funny conversations with them, the stressful feeling of races and qualifications, happiness when the racing team does a good job. you know that you're a very lucky person to have access to all of that.
you keep walking slowly, observing here and there around the paddock. then you find hamilton, saying goodbye to some guys and he notices you right after. you smile at him as he walks towards you, smiling back to you. he stops himself in front of you.
- nice to see you here y/n ! he says with a great smile.
- nice to see you too lewis ! you answered.
- why you're taking a walk alone ? he frowns a bit and then raises his brows like he found something. your boyfriend is too occupied right ?
you laugh and nod.
- yeah, looks like he was having a serious conversation with the engineers, i didn't want to intrude. but it's okay, i enjoy walking alone around the paddock.
- would you like to walk with me a bit then ? i've finished checking things with my team and i'm not gonna lie i need some distraction, he adresses to you a big smile.
part of you want to decline your friend's offer but you remember lando is still in the mclaren garage and if you join him now he'd probably be still here talking, not having time for you. and it's been a while since you last spoke with lewis.
- okay, let's go. but just for like 10 minutes, otherwise lando will wonder where i am and search for me all around the paddock, you say in a grin.
- don't worry, i won't take up too much of his girlfriend's time, he joked.
you guys start to walk slowly, enjoying the presence of each other. lewis is actually a good friend of you. well it's thanks to him that you're now lando's girlfriend. you're one of his closest friend, you know him for some years now. one day, he asked you to come to watch him pilot. you said that you didn't have the time, too busy with your job. he had to beg you and made you free up time to come over and watch a grand prix. finally, you gave up and went a sunday to the race. and you don't regret coming that day, because it's when you met for the first time lando. and now he's your boyfriend. lewis really deserves an appreciation for that.
- when i think that at the beginning you were a supporter of Mercedes, he grin and look down at your mclaren hoodie. the number 4 was on the back of it.
- guess tastes change, you answered playfully.
- especially not because of one particular boy, he's now giving you a implicit look.
- oh please shut up, you say in a smile and hit his shoulder.
he laugh at you. sometimes you forget lewis can be very teasing when he wants.
- but it's okay, i like lando. especially because he got me rid of an irritating girl, he jokes and can't hide his vicious smile.
- you lewis !! you give him a blow in the ribs and  shoot a black look. you try to bite back a smile but his laugh and teasing can't help it.
- i'm not going to remind you that roscoe loves me more than you, you tease him. and well, it's the truth.
- don't even try to continue on this topic. you know it breaks my heart y/n, he says and place his hand over his heart like he was hurt.
- so dramatic, you laugh and roll your eyes.
you can't deny it but your teasing game with lewis is something that you really like. you missed these interactions with your friend. and so does he.
you both are so into your teasing game that you don't even realizes you're now in front of the mclaren paddock. and what you also didn't noticed was how lando is looking at you two.
he finished his checking conversation with the engineers and oscar not so long ago. he thought that you were already in the garage waiting for him. but how suprised he was when he found out you were not here. first, he thought you were just in the toilets, or in his drivers room. so he calmed down a bit and went to his room. but you were not here too. then he started looking for you, searching everywhere until he finds you here in front of him, laughing and joking with hamilton. you look happy, looking at him with a playful look and smile, slapping his arm and then shoot him back a black look trying not to burst out laughing at the dumb things he says.
lando can't help but felt his heart tightens. the way you are just having a fun time with lewis, laughing like it is the funniest moment of your life, your hand touching his shoulder so that you don't lose your balance because you have this habit of almost falling to the ground when you're laughing to hard. and that usually happens when you are with lando, when he makes you laugh because oh he loves the sound of your laugh and your big smile, especially when he's the reason of it. but seeing you in this exact state with his driver friend instead of him, he just doesn't like that at all. yeah, he hates it. and he also feel guilty about it. he likes hamilton because he's his friend, but above all because it's thanks to him that you're his girlfriend.
he feel like he has no right to feel like that, because originally you are a friend of hamilton and he met you after him, when you were already one of his closest friends. if lewis didn't bring you that sunday, lando wouldn't be bere to be yours. but he also can't stand seeing you being so close to him, like it's just the two of you against the world. he just wants to be the only one for you, to be the only one that make you smile and laugh like that. just him and you. just you giving him all your attention. maybe he was just a bit insecure.
he sigh and take a deep breath. then he walks towards you two. he stop himself behind you and in front of the other driver and you are still laughing like kids until lewis notices him.
- looks like the prince if finally here for his princess, lewis says earning a grin from lando.
- yes, i come to save her, he reply in a grin but with an annoying tone, that he hopes you haven't heard. it comes harsher than he wanted.
- i am a troublemaker or something ? lewis joked and tease his friend.
- of course you are, you're always bothering me when lando is not here ! you say, still teasing him.
- oh stop i already know you loves him so much and would rather be with him than me in any situations, the mercedes driver give a playful look to the mclaren driver while saying this to you.
- of course, he's lando norris. how can i not love him ? you reply softly.
lando feel his heart lights. he can't help but smile at your sweet words. you look so in love with him it just makes lando so so happy. he drop his gaze on you and you give him a big smile, the one he cherishes with all of his heart. he wrap his arms around your waist and pull you close to his body.
- oh please don't do that in front of me, lewis says and act like he was disgusted, just to tease and bother you.
- not my fault if you don't have someone to hug, you reply, defending you and your boyfriend.
- yes it is, he reply back to back.
- no, it is not.
and like that you guys keep arguing about why lewis never hugs people and that he's maybe in need of affection. and lando was just there, trying to follow the debate.
you are just giving almost all of your attention to hamilton instead of him. and lando just hates that. he just want to run away from you and eclipse himself for the whole day, distancing himself from you until you give him your divine attention. maybe he is childish for thinking like that, but he just feels so jealous right now. for him, lewis is just stealing his girl. he should be the one debating with her, not the one who is here on the side and just standing like a bot. he is getting more jealous and angry. and he doesn't like that.
so, instead of just explodes in front of you two, he try to get your attention by squishing your hand, or your waist. reaching his hand to replace a strand of hair on your face, pull the sleeve of your hoodie, randomly kissing quickly your cheeks or the back of your hand. he just keeps touching you gently and softly and each time you look up at him and give him some bit of attention he feels relieve and happiness fills his body. but not a second later you're back talking and laughing with lewis. and then he can't stand it anymore.
he walks away from you and left you here with hamilton, not even daring to look back. he feels like an idiot for his shit behavior towards you and his mate but he gets sick by just seeing you so close with an another man than him. he knows damn well jealousy is not something good in a relationship, but he's so done. he is so annoyed and irritated by what happened that he completely forgot he has the qualifying. he enter the mclaren garage in a virulent way, and some people notice it, oscar being one of them.
- hey mate, you look like you're going to kill someone, oscar joked as he comes closer to the driver.
- maybe because that's what's going to happen, lando reply in a irritating tone.
oscar get silent for a moment and frown. he examines lando's expression.
- what happened ? he asked cautiously, not wanting to make things getting worse.
- nothing, don't worry, lando reply coldly.
- you're sure ?
lando turn to face his teammate and calm down a bit. he sigh and pat his shoulder to reassure him.
- yeah, just some silly things i think about. he pause for a second and then he gives him a determined look. let's do our best for the qualifying mate !
oscar smiles and nod his head, even though he's still worried about his friend statement.
and then, the qualifying takes place.
----
you're now waiting for your boyfriend in his drivers room. you know something bad happened, or maybe you did something wrong but the way your lover just left you in the middle of the paddock like an abandoned child makes you worrying about him. he looked angry, furious and frustrated because his walk wast fast and he didn't even look back. you want to know and understand why he reacts like that.
the race just finish some minutes ago, and lando will come soon into his driver room to dropped some stuff out as usual.
and then the door opens. you meet his eyes, and they're a lot of different emotions in it when he realizes that you're here. you stand up and guide yourself to him.
- lan, you whisper softly.
you try to approach him but he moves and take a step back. you're hurt.
- can we talk about what happened please ? i know something bother you.
he lift up his head to meet your gaze. and he didn't expect to see your hurt expression on your face. now he feels even more guilty than during the race. because yes, he regretted his behavior and how childish he was towards you when he was on the track. he couldn't concentrate fully on the race because of you and his shit actions. and now seeing you in this state makes him want to kiss you and hold you tight. his heart is crying.
- yeah, sure.
- why did you walk away like that ? something happened i know it, you start.
he avoid your gaze and start playing with his fingers. he's nervous. he does not want to reveal that he was so jealous of lewis because you would think he's such a kid and immature. a moment of silence fill the air. you notice that he looks nervous, so you try to help him.
- it is because of me ? you ask gently.
- not really, he answers still not looking at you.
- lando tell me what's wrong. i want to know because i'm confused and i don't want you to keep things to yourself. you can talk to me baby.
- i'm so sorry love, he says. then the second later, you're in his strong arms. he pulls you very close to his body and hide his face in your neck. so so sorry. i didn't intend to hurt you.
you sigh and gently rub his back.
- i'm not. just tell me how you feel lan. i promise i already forgave you, just tell me about your feelings please.
he goes silent for a minute, keeping you close to him.
- it's just... i didn't like the way the two of you interacted later. you were laughing a lot because of lewis and you kept making jokes with him. and i felt like you were ignoring me and enjoyed more his presence than mine. i don't like when you're close to an other man. i want you just for myself. i know this is selfish and childish because originally you're one of his closest friend but you were giving all of your attention to him instead of me. i was huh... jealous.
you move a bit away just to look at his face. you can see how guilty and hurt he is, like he was begging your pardon through his eyes. this picture breaks your heart in two. sometimes you feel like you don't deserve him.
- ohh my sweet boy... i understand how you feel. you have the right to feel like that. i was having fun with lewis because it's been a long time since we last saw each other and i didn't even think that it could have affected you so much. i'm so sorry love... so sorry. you know i also want to keep you all to myself.
- we're quits i guess.
you laugh softly and hug him. his hands rub your back slowly.
- i just want your precious attention y/n, lando says close to your lips.
- now you'll have it lando, you reply in a grin.
he smiles wide and pulls you closer. god he just loves you so so much, it sometimes hurts. he leans in and kisses you, squeezing your waist as you cup his face in your hands.
and you'll never leave his side, giving him all your attention for the rest of the day. and the rest of the week-end.

Someone please get El out of there
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is it not obvious what this is? Do you really not know what you should be doing? SAY THE DAMN WORDS.
Why do you think she’s doubting you? Can you really not tell?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mike, sweetheart, your relationship balancing skills are a terror to your friends, family, and romantic partners.
This is why people found Midleven cuter in S1/2, because the day you made it official marked the beginning of El’s doubts in your feelings for her.
You cannot seem to grasp that El is your friend AND your girlfriend, and somehow treating El like a girlfriend equates to treating her like shit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You cannot make this up. El needs WORDS because Mike’s ACTIONS actively make her feel unloved. She does not feel it, so she wants some kind of verbal/written affirmation because of how emotionally distant Mike feels.
(someone talented please edit Elmike to Hamilton’s Burn or send an existing edit my way, thank you ♡)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His actions do not align to her expectations of love, not that it’s a good idea to let TV define romance for you, but you’re allowed to want/expect certain things in a relationship, and El isn’t getting that.
And let’s not act like Mike isn’t good at making people feel loved/cared for. Will is in love with him for a reason. El loves him for a reason.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(It was difficult to pick scenes for this because I’ve read arguments for how these aren’t really romantic at all, but from 12/13-year old, “fresh out the lab” Eleven, it’s as romantic as romance gets imo)
El has been trying to convince herself that their relationship is better than it is, because once she admits to herself that it’s not working, what does she do?
Her day-to-day life isn’t that great. Sure, she has her new family in the Byers, but her dad recently passed away and she’s being bullied at school. She has no friends outside of Will, and while I’m sure their relationship is great (wasn’t explored that much tbh), he can’t keep her from feeling isolated, and his own trauma with bullying keeps him from standing up for her.
One good, unchanging thing she has is her relationship with Mike. He’s the one who took her in and housed her, he taught her what it meant to be a friend, and… I’m having a bit of trouble here lol. I was going to say:
Never used her for her powers (not true lol)
When she was burnt out, he never expected more from her (not true LOL)
Never treated her differently for her powers (for this one, he found her awesome in an awestruck way rather than a Brenner “I’m gonna exploit this” way, but when he thought she lied about Will/hurt Lucas he was on her ass lmao)
My girl has those ‘first love’ blinders on. I keep having to ask myself what she sees in him besides ‘first person to accept me + we kissed’ like besides the latter, Dustin was right there. A lot of the parts of Mike I enjoy don’t reveal themselves around El outside S1 (barely S2). He’s shown as caring and protective, but he’s like that for all of his friends?? Especially when they’re in danger so idk what’s different. I’d have to peruse the milkvan tag to get a hint, but I’ll probably get a better idea watching Sleeping Beauty.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m a firm believer that Mike kept it ambiguous because he didn’t want to admit what the real problem was to Will.
“I couldn’t tell El that I love her.” - simple as that. Must be something about Will that has him holding his tongue because after S3 I doubt he’d have that much trouble telling Lucas.
Are you embarrassed? If you thought it wasn’t that serious you wouldn’t have told Will that it was something you “can’t come back from”. Is love serious to you, Mike? Because you can’t love El in the way she wants, do you think you’re incapable of it? Do you feel wrong? Do you not want Will to know?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hit a little too close to home, huh.
(and let’s not get into the "team, friends, best friends" scene they had together like what was the point in having them make contact a SECOND time.
They already established a connection between them. Mike could’ve asked to be a team after the "guess it's gonna be up to us again," and Will could’ve taken the painting offscreen (the focus shot of Will grabbing the painting gets me so bad like WHY), but instead they wanted them to blush and giggle over each other AGAIN before they got to the van.
Make it make non-Byler sense I'm begging.)
Tumblr media
You’d think that’d be good enough, but Mike still feels conflicted and has to make it Will’s problem (actually, Will kinda made it his problem. The way they shot the triple take makes it seem like Will dragged Mike away for another talk because of how spacey he was being. Who knows.)
Tumblr media
Tf do you mean you didn’t know what to say? “Maybe if I said that thing” so you DO know? It’s painfully cut and dry if you take emotions out of it. El wants Mike to say that he loves her, so to fix this, to come back from that fight, Mike has to say he loves her.
Why is it such an internal battle for him? If I were to take it at face value, I’d chalk it up to what he said in the van scene.
Tumblr media
So your solution is to push your relationship to a point that has El crying and throwing all the loveless letters you sent to the floor? To tell her that she’s incredible and a superhero and that she should know how you feel about her because, despite the tears streaming down her face and her DIRECTLY asking you if you still love her, she must know how amazing she is too?
NEWSFLASH, Queerler! She’s learning just how much she doesn’t need you right now, so I guess it’s time to face your fears!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This isn’t what I meant, but go off ig (don’t, actually, this is awful for everyone involved).
No way you expect El to buy this. You’ve expressed this fear of "losing El" to Will, I’ll give you that, but nothing you’ve done IN FRONT OF EL has conveyed this. Your letters weren’t helping, and you being there in person only made it worse.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eagerly awaiting the day Michael Wheeler stops lying.
Tumblr media
Well, I guess he doesn’t lie ALL the time.

I saw your requests were closed But I really couldn't help sharing one. I hope you do like the idea :)
So what about a Charles × Wolff/Hamilton reader where she is working in Health care but has a new boss recently and he passes inappropriate comments/threats etc about her and acts out of line, which keeps on escalating (As dramatic and much as you want it to) and she doesn't tell him or anyone and starts behaving irratically and is scared, but one day it was too much or he finds out about it on accident and is angry at first at her for not sharing and then is all protective and possessive and does something about it.
One shot/ Series. Honey anything to read any version of this would be just 🤌🏻
Thank you ❤️🥹

The second you closed the front door you could finally breathe again. Taking a moment to just settle after the day you had endured, you pressed your back to the door and closed your eyes. It was like you told your younger patients when they were feeling stressed: smell the flower, blow out the candle. Inhale through your nose, exhale out your mouth.
Peace calmed your mind as you smelt the dinner Charles had made, your plate kept warm in the oven like he did whenever your shift ran overtime. That was an almost daily occurrence, especially with the new boss. You took another breath to clear your mind before it could return to the man who was single handedly making you regret your entire career choice.
"Hey-oh," Charles caught himself before he could hug you, spotting the blood on your scrubs. "You, uh, have a little something-" You looked down where he gestured, his nose wrinkling at the sight.
"It's fine," you said as you dropped your bag to the floor and pulled the shirt off. "It's mine, not a patient."
He nodded with relief as he took it from you to put in the washing machine but then it dropped as he realised what you had said and took a closer look at you. "Ma louve, what happened?" his fingers were gentle as they guided your face up to the light and he saw the bruising around your nose. "Putain, you're hurt."
"It was an accident," you said softly as you took his hands from your face and stepped into his embrace. "Cassia just had an episode, you know how it is, she didn't know what she was doing."
He wasn't appeased by the answer as he led you to the kitchen where he sat you down before checking your dinner was still warm enough to eat. "Where was security?"
You were grateful his back was to you as he reheated the pasta, something he hated having to do since it was never as good as when it was fresh. You had grimaced, wondering the very same thing at the time. They should have been close in the ward but with the new boss, expenditure was more important than safety and the budget had been cut in half the moment he started.
"They got there as fast as they could." It wasn't a lie. They had run all the way from the maternity ward on the floor above but you had already reset your broken nose by the time they arrived. She had quickly calmed after a dose of haloperidol and been apologetic when she realised her actions while delirious. “I’m fine, Char.”
Tumblr media
Diana sighed as she bandaged your wrist, a look of pity in her eyes as she shook her head. “Why do you stay? It’s not like you need the money, hun.”
You tested the range of movement and winced at the sharp pain, just another incident to add to the growing list. “What good does quitting do? You guys would just be another nurse down and it would put more pressure on an already crumbling system.”
The older nurse patted your hand before standing up and putting the left over roll of gauze away. “You’re too kind, but sometimes you have to put yourself first.”
You should have taken the rest of the day off but there were rounds to finish and call bells ringing left, right and centre. It was only when you couldn’t ignore your rumbling stomach any longer that you really took a proper look at your watch and saw your shift had finished over an hour ago.
“Katrina called in sick, I need you to stay on,” Tommy said without a simple hello when he caught you alone in the staff room.
“I can’t,” you replied as you grabbed your bag with your good hand, “it’s my dad’s birthday - we’re going out to dinner.”
“I don’t give a shit if you’re having dinner with the Crown Prince himself, we need you here.”
“Albert may actually be there,” you mused as you started to leave, but an arm blocked the doorway.
“Your yearly review is due next week, and I would hate to have to make a note of insolence, poor attitude and lack of empathy for others. We are short on staff and it’s not like you have children at home.”
That had been the only reason you took some extra shifts when you could manage it, because there were nurses like Katrina who had two young ones and they often fell ill with colds and flus from their daycare. It meant you had to become the automatic fall guy when any other member of staff couldn’t make it - but that was what the on-call nurses were for, except…
“Maybe we wouldn’t be short staffed if you didn’t get rid of the on-call contractors, or if you hired more nurses like we were promised two years ago,” you snapped without thinking, your hunger and exhaustion removing the filter that stopped you from having the temper your father did. Or, passion, as he liked to call it - a Wolff trait.
“So this is my fault?” he scoffed. “Nurses cost money. You might not know this, but money doesn’t grow on trees.”
You rolled your eyes at the reminder that you grew up with a silver spoon in your mouth, but that didn’t mean you were the spoiled daughter everyone who didn’t know you thought you were. You had studied hard and put in the effort to become a nurse because you wanted to help people. Tommy only cared about the profit.
“Healthcare shouldn’t be about money,” you muttered as you rolled your eyes. “It should be about helping the people who need it.”
“Then ask daddy dearest to make a donation, sweetcheeks,” he mocked as he pinched your cheek like a child. “That’s the only way you’ll get your precious nurses.”
You slapped his hand away from your face and ducked out the door before he could stop you but his voice echoed along the cold sterile corridor, “I hope you like night shifts, you’re going to be on them for a very long time.”
“You wouldn't,” you turned with a gasp. Charles' timetable was erratic but unless he was out of the country for a race he would always make the effort to be home by the time your shift ended.
“I would.” He chuckled and left in the opposite direction, pointing back to the staff room as he went. “You can leave at the midnight swap.”
Sighing with defeat and tears stinging your eyes, you grabbed your phone from the bag and sent an apologetic text to your father for missing his dinner party.
By the time midnight arrived your feet were aching and you had nearly emptied the vending machine of snacks to stave off your hunger. It wasn’t far from the hospital to the apartment you shared with Charles but it felt like a million miles when you stepped out into the cold night.
You pulled your jacket tighter around your body and shivered as you started off, your head down and hood up. You were so focused on just putting one foot in front of the other you didn’t see the shadow join you until a hand grabbed you and you screamed with terror as you were pulled into their chest.
“Ma louve, it’s me,” Charles soothed as he pulled your hoodie back and saw the tears in your eyes. “I didn’t mean to scare you.”
“I, I,” you stammered as you tried to unscramble the thoughts in your head.
“Shh, I’m sorry, I called out to you like three times. I shouldn’t have grabbed you, that was stupid,” he chided himself.
“No, no, I’m sorry, I was in a world of my own.” You finally took notice of your surroundings and saw the car park was almost empty and none of the cars were his Pista.  “What are you doing here? Did you walk?”
“I didn’t want you walking alone at this hour,” he said with a kiss on your forehead. “You’re shaking, ma chérie.”
“It was a long day,” you murmured as you yawned, resting your head on his shoulder as he gently rocked you. “I think I have more coffee in my system than blood right now.”
“You can’t keep this up, my love, you are going to burn out.”
You pulled out of his embrace and started down the footpath so he didn’t see the tears begin to escape. “I’m fine, Char. I can handle it.”
Tumblr media
It was Charles' home race and you had promised him you would join him in Ferrari this year. It was one of the few races you could always attend, managing your shifts around it so you never missed it, and all week you had seen the city setting up for the pride and joy of Monaco.
Dawn was breaking on the big day and it looked like it was going to be a stunner as the sky turned blue and you left the hospital after yet another night shift. Tommy had found a way to make your life miserable and your shifts were constantly changing just to upset your mentality and circadian rhythm. You could barely tell morning from night when it always looked the same blue hues, same cool temperatures, the only indication was which side of the city was glowing, east or west.
“Good morning, baby,” you greeted as you wrapped your arms around Charles and kissed his shoulder as you found him at the bench making breakfast, already wearing his bright red Ferrari uniform. “How did you sleep?”
“Not bad. Would have been better with you,” he said as he turned to face you, his head dipping down to indulge in a kiss. You giggled as you saw a few crumbs of toast caught in the short hairs of his beard and brushed them away. “Thank you.”
“Now you can kiss me.”
The doorbell rang and he reluctantly released you from his arms to go answer it, his finger pointing to the second plate you hadn’t noticed. “Eat, amour.”
You hummed happily as you grabbed the toast and took a bite, casting a wave to Andrea as he walked in with Charles.
“You look half dead, Wolff,” his trainer said with a worried look.
“She just got in from a shift, and will be going to bed as soon as she has eaten, right?” Charles said pointedly while you rolled your eyes.
“Does he boss you around this much?” you asked Andrea, making him chuckle as he shook his head.
“No, but he doesn’t love me the same way.”
“Who said I love you at all?”
“You do, every time you get a podium,” Andrea pointed out seriously.
You nearly choked on the mouthful as you tried not to laugh at the truth. Charles was very affectionate when he was celebrating, and you hoped he would have an entire night of it after today's race. Unfortunately you wouldn’t be able to share it with him since you were due back at the hospital at 7pm for another 12 hour night shift. You had tried to find someone to swap with but Tommy had made it clear there would be consequences - all because you questioned his qualifications.
You hadn’t been able to quiet any more, not when you had the imprint of a patient's dental records on your forearm from when they bit you. You started dreading going to work, somewhere that should have been a safe place, a refuge for those needing help had become the opposite for you. It was bordering on dangerous and you had to say something.
In hindsight, you shouldn’t have said it in the morning meeting in front of dozens of staff, but you had serious doubts about his ‘people skills’ and wanted to know where he got his management degree from. Suggesting it was from Hogwarts, because it must be a thing of fantasy, may have been a step too far.
You were now paying for those words.
You still stood by them.
You still hadn’t told Charles.
He would only worry, or suggest taking a sabbatical. Yes, you longed to travel with him to his races and show your support, but you didn’t feel there was any way to contribute to society with that life. Nursing gave you a sense of purpose and fulfilment that you were certain you couldn’t feel just being the driver’s girlfriend, or the principal’s daughter.
“Hey,” Charles roused you softly and you realised you were starting to fall asleep while eating. “Let’s get you to bed, ma petite louve.”
You were already closing your eyes before your head hit the pillow but you felt his lips warm your forehead. “I love you. I’ll see you in the garage,” you mumbled as sleep took over.
“Je t’aime aussi.”
Tumblr media
“Fuck, fuck, fuck,” you swore as you scrambled out of the bed and pulled on the first outfit you could find, a pair of comfortable jeans and a Ferrari shirt with Leclerc across the back with the number 16. There were dozens of missed calls and even more text messages but do not disturb had automatically turned on and you had forgotten to stop the setting. Today of all days you wanted to be disturbed.
Out on the street you could already hear the high keening of the cars racing around the city and you dashed through the thick crowds to get to the paddock. You hadn’t even remembered to grab your pass as you left in a rush but for once you were thankful someone recognised you and let you through.
“Arthur, how is he doing?” you panted as you reached the Ferrari garage and grabbed the headset he held out.
“Not the best start, he was a little distracted I think. You should probably let him know you are here.”
You agreed and went to the desk at the back rather than the main set up on the pit wall, quietly asking them to connect your headset to Charles. They were hesitant but there was no need for a pit stop any time soon since he had fresh tires so they made the adjustments to the channels.
“Hey baby, sorry I’m late.”
“You had me worried, little wolf.”
“That sounds so strange to hear in English,” you giggled, knowing the rules of the comms meant he couldn’t speak French on them. “I just wanted to let you know I made it so you can stop worrying.”
“I’ll always worry about you,” he said and you didn’t need to see his face to know he was smiling. “I’ll see you soon.”
The final 12 laps went almost as quickly as your nails, the nervous habit ruining them under the stress of the tight street circuit and close calls. Every time his car went flying through the sharp corners around the pool you were sure you were going to see him crash and your heart could barely take it. You ripped the headset off and rushed out of the garage as a wave of nausea crashed over you.
“Are you alright?” Arthur asked when he caught up to you in Charles’ driver room, a bottle from his fridge pressed to your clammy forehead. Your hands could barely keep it steady as the shook uncontrollably and you ended up letting it fall to the floor with a thud as you wrapped your arms around yourself. “Hey, what’s wrong?”
You couldn’t answer him as you struggled to pull air into your lungs, the screams of the crowd outside doing little to calm the panic gripping you. Dropping your head between your knees, you tried to keep from fainting but you could feel your heartbeat in your head, the throb sounding in time to the darkening pulse invading your vision until it all faded to black.
“You’re not listening, mate, she cannot come to work. She fucking passed out from exhaustion.”
“Then she should have been sleeping and not wasting her time watching some cars go around in circles. If she doesn't show up tonight, tell her not to bother showing up ever again.”
“She won’t,” Charles ended the call and slammed your phone down. “Quel salopard!”
The anger on Charles' face softened when he saw your eyes opening and he rushed across the room, his race suit still tied around his waist. “Don’t move, just lay down, ma louve. You need to rest,” he whispered as he knelt on the floor beside the couch you were lying on, his fingers brushing your cheek bone. “Arthur’s gone to get Toto.”
You couldn’t tell if minutes or days had passed and trying to think felt like trekking through a swamp of sludge in your mind. “The race?”
“4th.” He pressed his palm to your head and ran it over your hair feeling the damp heat on his skin. “You’ve sweat almost as much as me, mamour. You should have stayed home if you weren’t feeling well.”
You shook your head and it cleared some of the haze that hindered your cognitive ability. “I’m not sick, I just had…a moment. But I’m fine now.”
“A moment?” he asked with a frown. “What type of moment? And don’t tell me you are fine, you are clearly not and you haven’t been fine for months. Talk to me, please.”
The pleading, the puppy eyes, the way he dropped his head to your shoulder like he was defeated, it crested into a tsunami of emotion that broke the wall you had built between your personal life and your work life. The two worlds crashed together and the sob broke his heart as you crumbled apart in front of him.
The wave of truth crashed upon him and everything you had tried to keep from him for the past six months was lifted from your conscience as you confessed it all. You told him about the stress you were under, the bullying you had faced and the danger you were in each night with nearly no support or security.
You had been in a long sleeve when you went to bed but now you were in his shirt and he could see the latest wound marring your flesh, the impression of teeth setting to bruises.
Horror painted his features as he absorbed it all, then it turned to anger, hot rage as his clenched fists turned his knuckles white. “Why didn’t you tell me?” he asked with quiet restraint. “Pourquoi?”
You swallowed and shrank back into the couch as you felt that anger aimed at you. The shaking started again, a fine tremor coursing through your body until it reached your teeth and they chattered as a cold sweat broke out.
“Fuck, no, bébé, please,” Charles cursed as he unclenched his fists and reached for you only to freeze as you flinched. “Please, I would never hurt you. I’m not angry at you.”
“Yes, you are,” you whispered.
“Okay, I’m a little bit angry you didn’t tell me sooner. We are meant to share everything, no?” You nodded meekly. “But I would never hurt you, ma louve. I’m angry at myself, I should have noticed, I should have, I don’t know…I failed you.”
“I was scared. You would make me quit if you knew.”
His head lifted and confusion swum in those green eyes of his. “Why would you want to work for that asshole?”
“I like my job, I like what I do, Charles.” You looked away from the intensity of his stare. “I don’t know who I am without it.”
“Oh, chérie, you would still be the same selfless, kind, beautiful woman you are right now. That is who you are, and that will never change.” When he reached for you this time you let him take your hands and he kissed your knuckles before holding them to his chest. “I think it’s time to prove it to you.”
You sighed and gave him a small nod. “I think you might be right.”
The sound of relief he made brought a smile to your face and he returned it with a guilty one. “That’s a relief,” he admitted with a nervous chuckle, “because I think I got you fired.”

🦁🧡 X 🤙🏾💜
being labeled as the “power couple” of the paddock had never been something you or miles had planned. but somehow, over the last few years, you had grown into that role effortlessly. from sneaking around monaco streets to walking hand in hand at every race, you and miles had become inseparable. the media had stopped speculating, not because they lost interest, but because the truth was too obvious to ignore.
you were 18 now, and you and miles had been together for what felt like forever. people had watched you grow up, watched your relationship bloom under the intense spotlight of the f1 world. it wasn’t easy, but the support of your families - especially your dads - made it all a little easier. max and lewis had come a long way from their old rivalry, and in a way, their kids’ relationship had bridged a gap that no one had expected.
but recently, things had changed.
it happened so fast, and even though you and miles had tried to process it together, there were still moments where it didn’t feel real. you were pregnant.
it was a mix of emotions at first - shock, excitement, fear. but through it all, miles was by your side, as calm and supportive as ever. you both decided to keep the news quiet for as long as you could. with your dads’ help, and the understanding of your closest friends, it remained a secret. just a few months of peace, of adjusting to the idea before the world found out.
but as the months went by, your body began to change. at first, it was easy to hide the bump with baggy clothes or strategic angles, but after a while, there was no avoiding it. and then came the day when the secret was no longer something you could control.
you weren’t planning on making any grand announcements. you had been out with some friends in monaco, enjoying the afternoon like any other, when the inevitable happened. the bump was visible - clear as day. it wasn’t huge yet, but to those paying attention, it was unmistakable. you hadn’t even realized until later, when you checked your phone and saw the photos all over social media.
the headlines were instant, blowing up your feed and flooding every f1 forum and gossip site. is the verstappen-hamilton power couple expecting? baby on the way for f1’s most famous young couple? the media was all over it, and within hours, it felt like the entire world knew.
you sat on the couch, staring at your phone in disbelief. “it’s out,” you muttered, showing miles the screen.
miles sighed and ran a hand through his hair, sitting beside you. “we knew it would happen eventually.”
“yeah, but… I just wasn’t ready for it to be today,” you admitted, feeling overwhelmed. “it’s everywhere.”
he wrapped an arm around your shoulders, pulling you close. “it’s okay. we’ll get through this. we always do.”
your phone buzzed again, this time with a text from your dad. we’ll talk soon. don’t worry too much about it. max had been supportive from the moment you told him, but you knew he wasn’t happy about the media attention. neither was lewis. they had both been fiercely protective of you and miles, trying to shield you from the frenzy of public life, but even they couldn’t control this.
over the next few hours, the media storm only intensified. photos of you in monaco were plastered everywhere, and speculation about your pregnancy was the top story. you had already gotten a few calls from journalists asking for confirmation, but you and miles decided not to respond. not yet.
it was later that night, when you were back at your apartment, that you both realized there was only one way to handle this: you had to address it. if you didn’t, the rumors would only get worse, and the scrutiny would become unbearable.
“we need to tell them,” miles said softly, as you sat together on the couch. “we can’t keep hiding it.”
you nodded, feeling a mix of nerves and relief. “yeah, you’re right. but how? do we just… post something?”
“yeah, we’ll post something,” miles replied, reaching for his phone. “just… us. nothing big, just the truth.”
you leaned into him as he opened the camera app, positioning it so that you both were in frame. your hands naturally rested on your bump, and miles wrapped an arm around your shoulders, pulling you close. you smiled softly, glancing up at him before looking back at the camera.
he took the photo and then stared at it for a moment before turning to you. “ready?”
“as ready as I’ll ever be,” you replied, your heart racing slightly.
miles typed out a simple caption: we’ve got some news to share. baby hamilton-verstappen coming soon. we’re excited to start this next chapter together.
he hit post.
the reaction was immediate. comments flooded in - supportive messages from fans, congratulations from friends and fellow drivers. even your dads commented, though they kept it short and sweet.
max’s comment was simple: can’t wait to meet my grandkid. lewis followed up with a proud: new chapter, here we go. love you both.
you let out a breath you hadn’t realized you were holding. the weight of the secret had been heavy, but now that it was out there, you felt a sense of relief. you didn’t have to hide anymore.
“there. it’s done,” miles said, setting his phone down and turning to you. “how do you feel?”
“better,” you admitted, leaning your head on his shoulder. “still a little nervous, but better. at least now we can control the story, right?”
“exactly,” miles said, his fingers gently brushing against your arm. “we’re in this together. no matter what happens next.”
you smiled softly, feeling the warmth of his words settle over you. despite the chaos of the last few hours, you knew you had miles, your family, and a new chapter ahead. the media could speculate all they wanted, but you had something far more important to focus on now - the life growing inside you, the future you and miles were building together.
you were ready.

That One Night
Jannik Sinner x Reader After being introduced at an event, reader and Jannik Sinner seek to resolve their immediate chemistry. They do, it's brief but magnificent. And they're both left wanting more... too bad that's unrealistic... they'd need a miracle for that to happen... Warnings include... steamy scenes, allusion to smut that might as well be smut, minor bike accident
The venue was dazzling, a shimmering blend of opulence and power, brimming with high-profile names from sports, entertainment, and beyond. You’d been to your share of high-stakes events working as a part of Lewis Hamilton's personal staff, but this gala—a celebration of global athletic excellence—was something else. Maybe it was the shift in Hamilton’s career, his dramatic switch to Ferrari drawing attention from every corner of the room. Being in the same space as some of the most impressive figures in the world was never something you could get used to.
You adjusted your drink in your hand, standing among your coworkers, who were animatedly chatting amidst the event’s grandeur. Lewis, ever the charismatic centerpiece of any gathering, stood nearby, surrounded by admirers and journalists. It was then that you noticed him—Jannik Sinner, the tennis prodigy who seemed to be everywhere these days. Tall, composed, and unmistakably confident, he approached Lewis with an easy grace.
“Congratulations on the move to Ferrari,” Jannik said, extending a hand. His tone was warm but earnest, with the kind of deference and understanding that only a fellow, high achieving athlete could channel.
“Hey, man. I'm a big fan of yours,” Lewis replied, during the swift clasp of their hands, his signature grin in place. “And yeah, thank you. It’s been an adjustment, you know how it is. New team, new dynamics.”
Jannik nodded thoughtfully. “It’s a big step, and very exciting. Ferrari’s history speaks for itself, but so does your own.”
“Thanks, mate, appreciate it” Lewis said, kind eyes twinkling, and then turned slightly to gesture toward your group. “By the way, these are some of the people who make my life run smoothly.”
Lewis introduced everyone by name, and when he got to you, Jannik’s gaze lingered just a fraction longer than it had with the others.
“Nice to meet you all,” he said, offering a polite smile to the team, though he was angled towards you as he did.
“Likewise,” you chimed in along with the other greetings of your group, eyes flicking up and down his tall stature with an obvious spark of interest. You smiled into your drink when you saw he noted your appraisal with a quiet smirk to himself.
---
The group conversation that followed was lively, filled with laughter and the kind of lighthearted banter that couldn't be faked. It wasn't uncommon for nights like this one to be filled with forced niceties and social obligation, but you found yourself surrounded by genuine company throughout the night for once. Jannik withstood the camaraderie of you and your team's established dynamic well, easily following the quick back and forth that bounced between your co-workers. Your own insertions in the conversation earned more than a few chuckles from his direction, and you found yourself meeting his eyes first at every instance of laughter. He wasn’t the loudest in the group by any means, but his subtle wit, dry humor, and ability to hold his own didn’t go unnoticed—especially not by you.
At one point, Jannik leaned slightly toward you after you’d made a particularly sharp and clever comment that had your co-workers open-mouthed with shock before they keeled over with laughter. “Do you always keep everyone on their toes, or are you just on a mission tonight?”
You grinned, meeting his gaze. “I mean, it depends on the company.”
His small smile widened just enough to feel like a win.
---
Hours later, as the event began to wind down, you and your team decided to head back to the hotel before the night got stale. It seemed everyone had the same idea.
The lobby was bustling with other guests from the gala, all waiting for the elevators in their shared hospitality. You stood near the back of the group, watching as people crammed into the small space. Jannik appeared beside you, his own team just slightly ahead.
“Looks like we’re not getting on this one,” he remarked as the doors closed, the elevator packed to it's maximum volume.
“Probably for the best,” you replied. “I’m not sure I have any social capacity left for that level of crowding.”
He chuckled, his relaxed demeanor infectious. “Guess we can only hope the next one is less full.”
Only a few others joined you in waiting for the second lift, and you and Jannik fell into easy, hushed conversation. The elevator dinged and opened, and you filed in first with Jannik's gentle hand on your lower back. He positioned himself next to you in the corner, allowing space for the others, his shoulders square to your own with your hip brushing at his leg. You stood in silence now, sharing the small space with guests before, one by one, they exited on the lower floors and left you and Jannik alone.
The silence persisted despite the clearing of others and grew to fill the air as something comfortable, but palpable. It felt hopeful, expectant—like maybe the tension that built naturally between you both through the night was about to be expended somehow. Like maybe something would amount from your hyper-aware orbit of each other that started within your short time of meeting.
You realized you were standing closer to him than necessary, still where you first positioned yourselves to accommodate the now-departed crowd. His arm brushed yours as the elevator ascended, and neither of you moved away, the small space between you unchallenged but charged.
When the elevator dinged once more, you glanced up, startled to see your floor already on the display.
“This is me,” you said, stepping away from the rail, and you saw this floor was the last one pressed on the array of numbers, "Oh, are you on this level, too?"
He shook his head, his gaze heavy-lidded and steady on you. "Must've missed mine."
He didn’t move to press his floor, and the doors began to close again.
You hesitated as you stepped through them, then looked back at him. “Why don't you come back to my room instead.”
The invitation hung in the air, sounding bolder in the silence than you intended, but you held off on regret as you waited for a response. Jannik’s eyes searched yours, something stirring beneath his usual, cool reserve.
“Lead the way,” he said.
---
The walk to your room was quiet, the tension building with every step. When you finally opened the door and stepped inside, the atmosphere shifted. The casual banter of earlier was gone, replaced by an unspoken understanding that neither of you felt the need to question.
“Nice place,” he said as he entered your hotel room, voice low, but he had barely glanced around. His eyes stayed trailing after your every movement.
“Thanks,” you replied, closing the door behind you. “Picked the decor out myself and everything.”
You turned to face him, his expression unreadable but his eyes giving him away. Slowly, he stepped closer, the gap between you shrinking until there was almostnone left at all.
And then it happened.
There was no formality, no careful consideration—just heat, just urgency. His lips were on yours, and it wasn’t soft or timid, like he’d been waiting all night for this moment. It was hungry, a breaking point neither of you had time to speak into existence but one that you both had felt coming all along.
His hands found your waist, fingers curling into fabric as if anchoring himself. You tilted your head, deepening the kiss, pressing closer, the moment swallowing you whole. The air buzzed between you, your heart hammering against your ribs, every touch igniting something more.
Somewhere in the haze, he pulled off his blazer and you tugged at his shirt, needing him closer, needing something solid to hold onto as your back hit the door. His breath was ragged when he finally pulled away, but only for a moment before his lips found the curve of your jaw, then lower, pressing slow, deliberate kisses to your skin.
He exhaled against you, voice hushed, breath uneven. You felt the sharp edges of restraint still present, the weight of something unspoken.
Then, your fingers slid into his hair, tugging lightly, and any hesitation that remained between you unraveled completely.
His hands, warm and steady, moved over your back, pulling you off the door and fully against him, as if closing the last bit of space that existed between you. His mouth found yours again, slower this time, and deeper, as if savoring the impermanence of it all.
When he finally pulled away again, his forehead pressed to yours as you both caught your breath. There were no whispered questions, no reassurances about what this meant.
Because it didn’t have to mean anything, and it didn't—at least, not yet.
So, your hand found his, fingers lacing together in a silent understanding.
And when you moved, guiding him to the bed, he followed without a second thought.
Faintly you heard the late night gusts and the rush of cars, a window left open, air cool and crisp, but the heat between you was unmistakable. The time stilled, no urgency or expectation left, only the slow unraveling of barriers that had been introduced already half-torn down. His hands moved over you with intent, like he was memorizing the feeling of you, the weight, the warmth, the way you shivered at the smallest touch.
You found yourself laughing softly against his lips at one point, the absurdity of it all—this place, this timing, such need after only one introduction. Jannik smiled too, a sweet one, and he moved his face from yours to nudge into your neck.
And then, just as quickly, the laughter faded, overtaken by something heavier, deeper. You pulled him back up to you, fingers dragging over bare skin, every inch of space between you erased until nothing else existed but this.
No past, no future.
Just here. Just now.
---
You didn’t sleep much. Not that night.
Every time your breathing leveled, every time the air settled between you, Jannik would shift closer again, fingertips tracing slow, aimless patterns along your skin, reigniting the heat that neither of you could seem to temper.
The sheets were tangled between your legs, the warmth of his body wrapping around you, the weight of his hand pressing against the small of your back, grounding you. His lips found the space beneath your jaw, lingering for a moment before trailing downward once more, his breath a quiet whisper against your skin.
His touch was exploratory, desperate, as if learning something new that he only had limited time to perfect. The slow drag of his fingers, the way he murmured your name against your collarbone, sent shivers up your spine.
What started so quick had become slow and unhurried as the night went on—a mutual unraveling, an indulgence in something spontaneous and momentary. Each kiss, each sigh, each press of fingers and hands and lips savoring all that was fleeting.
He wasn’t in a rush. Neither were you.
One night could be enough.
---
When you awoke late into the next morning, the sun streaming through the curtains, Jannik was already up and in his suit from the night before, sitting on the edge of the bed as he laced up his shoes. He glanced back when he noticed you stirring.
“Morning,” he said, his tone soft but steady.
“Morning,” you replied, your voice still heavy with sleep.
There was a beat of silence before he added, “Last night was… unexpected.”
You sat up, pulling the sheets around you. “But, was it really though?”
He smiled, the corners of his mouth lifting slightly. “No, maybe not.”
As he stood, you watched him hesitate, his hand resting on the back of a chair. “You mentioned last night that you’re only here for the event. How long are you in the area?”
“Not long at all,” you admitted. “This was just a short work trip. I’m based in London, so I’ll be heading back after today.”
He nodded, absorbing the information. “London… that’s not too far.”
You smiled faintly, flattered at his effort to pretend and humor this. “I guess. Not if you’re motivated.”
His lips curved into a subtle grin. You both knew what this was, this was goodbye. “See you around, maybe?”
“Yeah, maybe,” you replied, trying to keep your heart from fluttering and latching onto the few, unlikely possibilities packed into that single word.
He held your gaze for a moment longer before turning toward the door, he called your name out once more. “Take care.”
“You too, Jannik,” you said softly as he walked out, leaving behind a room that suddenly felt much quieter—and a connection you couldn’t quite shake.
---
The Italian countryside was like something out of a painting, with rolling hills, ancient stone buildings, and skies so blue they almost seemed unreal. You’d been traveling from town to town for weeks now, helping Lewis Hamilton’s team gather material for his upcoming launch into first season with Ferrari. As his creative director, your role was to define the visual identity of this new chapter in Lewis’s career—a challenge you decided to cover by making a series inspired by the unique range of beauty offered by the Italian landscapes. And so, you'd immersed yourself amongst the Italian people up and down the country.
Today’s destination was a small, picturesque town tucked away in the Dolomites and bordered by Austria. You hadn’t thought much more of it as you packed your camera and sketchbook that morning, already suspended in awe by the setting during your arrival the night before, but as you wandered its sloped streets, you began to notice something: Jannik's face was absolutely everywhere.
It wasn’t unusual to see Italy's favorite tennis player and the World No. 1 featured in promotional materials across the country, but this was different. There were even posters of him at the local cafés, a mural depicting his likeness near the town square, and framed photos of his visits at every place you checked out for lunch. The ghost of him and that one night was already haunting you throughout Italy, but now it especially felt like the universe was conspiring against you.
You sighed into your espresso, thinking back to your brief but memorable encounter with him months ago. You often needed to remind yourself that it was just a one-time thing, a spontaneous meeting that would never align again. But apparently, Italy—and your own mind—wanted to encourage delusion.
Curious, you asked the barista about the abundance of Jannik’s imagery.
“Oh, he’s from here,” she said in accented English, beaming with pride. “Jannik is our treasure.”
Your stomach flipped. Of course, he was from here. You’d managed to land yourself in his birthplace without even realizing it. It was probably only a matter of time, but, even in all the time you spent trying and failing not to think of him, you hadn't really considered that you'd end up in his hometown sometime during your extensive travels of his country. Figuring he was off on tour or training somewhere far away, you tried to push the thought aside and focus on your work. You'd long since persuaded yourself to accept that you were unlikely to see him again. Still, as you moved through the scenic countryside that afternoon, your mind kept drifting to the idea of what it would be like to be in a place like this with him. The daydream felt too perfect, too impossible to entertain for long.
You don't actually know him, you reminded yourself.
---
Later that day, while riding your bike down a quiet rural road, you were so taken by the stunning view that you didn’t notice the dip ahead. Your front wheel went in and caught, sending you flying forward. You landed awkwardly, your camera bag cushioning some of the impact but your ankle was angled and throbbing.
“Oh, are you okay?” a voice called out in accented English.
You looked up to see a middle-aged woman rushing toward you from her car, concern etched on her face. She helped you sit up, clicking her tongue as she inspected foot.
“That hole gets everyone,” she said with a shake of her head. “You’re not the first.”
You couldn’t help but laugh despite the sting as you shifted. “Good to know I’m not alone.”
“My name is Siglinde,” she said, smiling warmly. “You?”
You replied with your name, wincing as she helped you up to your feet. “Thanks for stopping to help.”
Through a mix of your patchy Italian and German, and her limited English, you managed to explain that you were in town for work and researching the area as you walked your bike back to town beside her. Even before your mention of Italy's revered Ferrari, Siglinde had lit up about your project, insisting that she knew the best places to see.
“I live here my whole life,” she said proudly. “I show you the real town.”
---
Over the next few days, you and Siglinde struck up an unlikely, but fast friendship. She took you to local spots that weren’t in any guidebooks—a secluded meadow, a historic church, a family-run lodge. She spoke often of her family, particularly her children, whom she described as hardworking and kind.
“You would like him,” she said one afternoon after telling another story about her youngest son, as you walked through the market together. “You both work so hard. And you are very pretty.”
You smiled and humored her, brushing off the compliment. It was one of many not so subtle hints letting on that she thought you'd be good for her son. “I’m sure he’s great.”
“He is,” she insisted. “Handsome too! And such a good boy. Too busy for girlfriends, though. But maybe you can change that?”
“Siglinde!” you said, laughing at her persistance.
She grinned. “Just saying! You are a good match.”
Another time, as you hiked through the countryside with her, she pointed out landmarks and told stories about her family. “The boys loves this area,” she said wistfully. “My youngest, he is away so much, but when he comes home, he loves to be where not much has changed. He misses it here, you know.” She glanced at you, her eyes twinkling. “I think you would understand him. He needs someone who understands.”
You weren’t sure how to respond, so you just smiled and let her words hang in the air.
---
After about a week in town, Siglinde invited you to dinner at her home one evening. She insisted it would be a proper South Tyrolean meal, made by her husband, Johann, a long-time chef. You couldn’t say no to her, especially not to such an enticing offer.
When you arrived, Siglinde greeted you at the door, her face alight with excitement. “Come, come! Johann is still in kitchen. But my son, he is home! You will meet him.”
You smiled politely, stepping inside and handing her flowers you got from the market before she led you through the cozy house. She disappeared into the kitchen to find a vase, leaving you to admire the family photos lining the walls.
You did a double take at a small framed photo of a little boy obscured in snow, and you stepped forward to inspect closer. Smile wide and trophy lifted high, your heart rate picked up as you took in the pictured boy's toothy smile and the flash of long, orange hair peaking out of his helmet.
---
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Siglinde was speaking in rushed German to Jannik as she filled a vase. “The girl I invited tonight,” she began, her tone conspiratorial. “She is so nice! Hardworking, smart, and very pretty. Perfect for you.”
Jannik, used to his mother’s matchmaking, rolled his eyes with a smile. “Mama, you said on the phone already. Many times.”
“You must see,” Siglinde insisted. “You will see. She is special.”
“I’ll take your word for it,” he replied lightheartedly. “At least your English will improve with someone to practice with around.”
---
Before long, Siglinde reappeared to usher you into the dining room. She had found you at the height of your disbelief, mouth still agape at the picture of Jannik on your new, kind friend's mantle.
At least now you know what's coming, you thought to yourself as you sat down at the dinner table, barely registering the beautifully prepared food plated in front of you.
You felt him enter the room before you saw him.
Jannik appeared in the doorway beside you and immediately stilled, recognizing the tilt of your head and the curls of your hair from just the one night spent together.
“Ah, you meet!” his mother exclaimed as she moved past him carrying a steaming bowl of soup into the room, leaving him behind in his state of shock that was now slowly morphing into one pleasant surprise and amusement.
You had turned to face his direction at Siglinde's entrance, and your eyes immediately found his. You couldn't help the slow smile that grew on your face in time with his.
He said your name softly, voice warm, tone incredulous. You took in a sharp breath, you didn't think you'd ever hear your name from his mouth again.
“Jannik,” you greeted, struggling to find any words to follow.
“Ah, you already know each other?” Siglinde beamed, eyes darting between the two of you with a knowing look. “...Perfect! Dinner will be even better!”
---
The meal was a whirlwind of flavors and conversation, with Siglinde and Johann enthusiastically sharing stories and dishes. You and Jannik tried to act natural, normal, but your time together flashed behind your eyes each time you looked over at him. And you had trouble focusing on top of processing the serendipity of this unexpected reunion between the two of you.
Every so often, your eyes would meet across the table, and you’d both look away, trying to suppress smiles. You knew what he was thinking, and you were sure he knew you were thinking the same.
After dinner, Siglinde all but pushed the two of you toward the door. “Take a walk! Show her the stars, Jannik. It is a beautiful night.”
“Mama, I—”
“Go!” she insisted, shooing you both outside.
The cool night air was a welcome contrast to the warmth of the house. You walked in silence for a while, your first time alone in the night. Your first time alone in months, though the last time was the first time as well, you supposed.
Jannik let out a soft laugh, and broke you out of your thoughts.
“I can’t believe this,” he said, shaking his head. “Of all the places, of all the people my mother adopts…”
“I know,” you said, smiling. “She's amazing, by the way. She helped me after I was thrown off my bike.”
He raised an eyebrow, chuckling a little. “You were thrown off your bike?”
“It’s not funny,” you said, laughing despite yourself. “There was this ditch and—Apparently, it gets everyone, okay?”
He laughed again, his gaze soft on you. “I’m glad she found you. And I’m glad we… ran into each other again.”
You stopped walking, turning to face him. “Me too.”
For a moment, the only sound was the rustling of leaves in the breeze. Then, with a smile that made your heart stutter, Jannik asked, “What are your plans tomorrow?"
“Just spending more time around here,” you said.
“Good,” he replied. "Then maybe I can show you around... because I’d like to get to know you properly."
"I mean, you were pretty thorough the last time we met." You said, and he smirked at that and looked down at his feet. You continued, voice a little softer, "But yeah, I'd like that."
He smiled, nodding a little to himself, and as you continued down the moonlit path in the mountains, you let your pinkies brush against each other. Because you both knew, that one night was always meant to be the first of many.

As soon as Lewis was able, he flew straight back home, promising Toto and the rest of the team a detailed written debrief he worked on while he was on the plane.
When he landed, one of your friends was there to drive him straight home, "they are both doing well so the doctor discharged them this morning, they watched the race at home already with your mum", she smiled, noticing his antsyness, "we'll stop by my place so you can have a shower and change clothes, and then you'll get to meet him. I know I'm biased, and you'll be too, but he's the cutest little boy ever", she smiled, reassuring him that everything was well underway and that they were being careful with the baby's health.
"Carmen, can I have some water, please?", Lewis heard you call for his mother as he walked through the stairs that led the garage to the living area of the house, seeing the older woman pour the liquid into a mug and bringing it to you along with a straw.
"Hey, look who's here!", you smiled, handing the mug back to your mother in-law when you finished sipping from it.
Lewis walked closer to you, rubbing his mother's arm before he kissed the top of your head, taking a peek at the bundle in your arms. Baby Noah has been sleeping against your chest, pillowy lips agape without another care in the world, but he seemed to stir as he felt his father's presence in the room.
"Someone wants to meet daddy", you cooed as Lewis sat next to you on the sofa, arms expectantly held out as you transferred the baby to his arms.
Taking the baby wrapped up in the beige blanket and placing him on his chest, Lewis let one of his hands rest on his son's back to hold him close.
"Hey Noah", he whispered, looking up briefly to see his mother and wife smiling at them, "You were slightly early, weren't you? Daddy wasn't here when you came earthside, and I'm very sorry for it, but now we have all the time in the world", he whispered, softly touching his cheek and moving to stroke his head, feeling the soft baby hair.
Noah looked up at him as tears filled his eyes, "I couldn't wait to get home to you and mummy. I'm sure a lot of people want to meet you, I got told that much in the paddock", he smiled at the beautiful boy in his arms. "It's ok", Lewis whispered as the baby started getting fussy, opening his mouth and squinting his eyes closed as he cried loudly.
A quick look at the clock made you suddenly reach your arms out for your crying little boy, "he's hungry, it's just about time", you nudged, cradling him to you and kissing his forehead.
"I'm going to go, dears, leave you in your newborn bubble", Carmen smiled, "if you need anything, and I mean anything, call me, okay?", she checked, kissing your head and Lewis' before squeezing her grandson's little hand softly, "goodbye, baby boy, behave well for mummy and daddy, okay?".
After she saw herself out, you undid the top buttons of your shirt, unfastening the bra cover so you could feed your little boy, "That's it, good boy", you cooed, feeling your husband's eyes on you.
"We watched the race, congratulations on your podium", you smiled, your hand squeezing your husband's thigh once you balanced your baby on the feeding pillow.
"Thanks", he breathed out, "I still can't believe he's here, that he's ours", he shook his head, "we have our little boy here with us.
"Thank you for doing this for our family, I'm sorry I wasn't here sooner", he expressed, kissing your lips softly as Noah whined, "daddy can't kiss mummy, now? Oh, this is going to be interesting!".
.
"Am I doing this right? I think I am", your heard your husband say to your son as you started to wake up, "looks secured enough. Hopefully we won't have any explosions and nothing comes out of here".
Your hissing while trying to pull yourself up announced you were awake as your husband turned his torso slightly to face you, "mummy is awake, little love", he beamed, finishing popping the buttons on your son's clothes so he was comfortable.
By the time you found a way to pull yourself up and against the headboard, Lewis was sitting next to you, ready to pass Noah into your arms so you could feed him, "are you still feeling sore?", he asked, kissing your cheek.
"It's not as bad as yesterday", you assured him while you moved your boob so Noah could latch, ignoring the sting as his lips met your sensitive skin, "my back feels fine, but moving my legs might be tricky still", you offered.
"The midwife said that would be expected, so we'll just keep an eye out for anything serious, yes?", your husband said as you took the opportunity to rest your body against his naked chest, his arm going around your shoulders and softly tracing shapes on your bare skin.
"Can you burp him while I use the bathroom?", you asked as Lewis as he got up, burping him while standing up as you slowly got up as well, waddling to the en suite bathroom.
"Are you going to sleep now, little one?", he cooed, rocking him to sleep once all of the air trapped in his tummy got out, "you have a clean nappy, full tummy, and daddy needs to go and make sure mummy is okay", he chuckled, "with time, you'll see it takes her a while until she asks for help even though she's usually been needing it for way longer".
"Lew?", you called from the bathroom, "yes, darling?", he called back as he knocked on the door softly, asking for your permission to look inside, "I need to have a shower, but I don't trust my legs to keep me up, and sitting on the floor is not a good idea so, like - do we even have a stool I can sit on? -, I need something to support myself on", you asked.
"Noah is asleep, I can leave him here, in the middle of our bed, keep the door open and help you with your shower if that's okay", Lewis offered, "if I look around, I might find something, but I'm not sure we own a stool that can be put in water".
Weighing your options, you waddled back to your boys, kissing Noah's forehead and looking up at Lewis, "you don't mind helping?", you wondered.
Lewis placed Noah on the bed, making sure he was in an angle where you could see him from the bathroom, "c'mon, shower time, darling", he soflty nudged.
He turned on the warm water as you undressed yourself, disposing the underwear safely in the bathroom bin and walking into the shower compartment, thankful that Lewis insisted you needed a wide and ample space for it as it now perfectly accommodated the two of you once he had no clothes on either.
"Is the temperature good?", he asked and you nodded. Your body didn't feel wrong to you, just new, and Lewis seemed to be on the same page, tracing your hips and tummy softly while you wet your hair.
By now, the routine was so engraved in your lives that Lewis knew which steps followed which, only stopping when you needed to support yourself on him, to steal a few kisses or take a peek of Noah.
"Now he's sleeping well", you muttered chuckling as you wrapped a towell around your body, accepting Lewis' hand as he took you to the bedroom, "I have your underwear ready with those witch hazel round pads to help with the soreness", he added.
Helping you put them on along with the rest of your clothes he gathered from the drawers, your husband left a trail of kisses anywhere his mouth was close enough to your skin as he dressed you, "how about a nap? Noah surely kept us up so we could do with some sleep", he smiled, pulling you to lie against his chest while you cradled your son against your own chest.
.
"I know, baby, I know", you gulped, grabbing the silicone covers for your nipples while bouncing Noah on your bent legs, "mummy is trying to make this better for both of us, hopefully this works", you tried, fitting the piece and pulling Noah to you, encouraging him to suck.
The specialist had told you that using the covers would help you in days where the skin was extra sensitive, but its continuous use could mean that Noah would have to work harder to get his milk in, leaving him to get more tired and eat less, ultimately making him drop his weight.
"Hey, darling, I'm back", Lewis called from the kitchen, opening and closing cabinets as he stored away the things he bought from the shop.
"In the living room", you croaked out, holding the tears that threatened to fall as Noah seemed to drift off to sleep, "ah-ah, baby boy, you have to eat more, otherwise you won't grow", you groaned, taking off the silicone piece and biting your lip as his lips made contact with your skin directly.
The tears you worked on keep at bay fell down your cheeks as Lewis walked inside the living room, "hey, darling, I - what's the matter?", he checked you over, sitting next to you as you looked up at the ceiling.
"It hurts, a lot", you cried, "the only way it doesn't hurt is if I have these on, but with them he won't eat, so I have to compromise that", you allowed him to wipe your cheeks, "what a great mother I am, talking about compromise when I am feeding my baby", you scoffed at your own words.
"Hey, it's okay to talk about it if it hurts, darling. I'm so, so sorry, I wish I could do something to take that pain away", he comforted, kissing your cheeks as he pushed your bodies closing together.
"I will rub the cream afterwards, and we can try the silver nipple covers, we haven't done that yet", he suggested, his hands tracing shapes on your skin and squeezing the area, hoping to distract you from the pain you were feeling.
"I'll put him to sleep, okay? You can go and freshen up, darling", Lewis said as he bounced Noah on his arms after burping him, giving you time to use the bathroom and get a little bit of fresh air.
After splashing your face with water, you lightly dabbed the towell on your face before walking to the kitchen, opening the door that lead to the back garden and standing in the sun for a few minutes.
It was easy to get lost. A lot of people, specially the ones who were brutally honest about the whole experience, told you that much. Not out of spite or because they wanted to scare you, but rather because they cared enough to tell you about all of it. It was easy to lose yourself because all your focus was on your baby. Truth was, if you lost yourself, your baby would end yo suffering, too, so the whole situation required balance. Right now, the sun rays hitting your skin seemed to tip the scales to an even line.
"He's asleep already", you heads Lewis say, baby monitor on hand hand and another one with a cup of tea for you, "here, beautiful", he offered.
"Everytime I look at his face, I can't believe we made him. Such a perfect baby, how is he ours? But, it's also a lot sometimes", you breathed out, letting go of the guilt that was consuming you and recognising that you could love your family unconditionally and still admit that things could get hard. One didn't override the other.
"It's okay to admit that", Lewis said, pulling you to rest your back against his chest, "but we'll go, day by day, see what it brings us. You're doing so well, Y/N, you've been so strong for our family", he smiled, kissing the top of your head, "will you let me take care of you now?", he wondered, guiding you back inside for a little pamper session.
.
"Your tummy really is troubling you, isn't it, little one?", Lewis said as Noah didn't seem to settle down, cries and whimpers leaving the little baby's mouth as he rocked him back and forth, "should we try those massages daddy was taught in the baby classes?".
Laying Noah on the changing table, Lewis unswaddled him before holding his legs, "first we go into frog mode", he chuckled, pulling the little legs into position before wiggling his hips and tummy, "the nurse in the baby classes said to wiggle a little, and apparently you are very flexible at this point, so you're like putty almost. It's a bit scary, but you seem to be doing better, right buddy?", he said, noticing he was passing some gas already and his whimpers had died down.
As you came out of your shower, you watched the replied on your son's face as the noise coming from his diaper confirmed the reason from his previous pains, "Oh, that was a big one!", you giggled, approaching your boys as Lewis grabbed a new diaper, "I'm on it!", he said, kissing your cheek and taking care of changing Noah.
"Do you want to go on a walk this afternoon?", you wondered, "I feel a little better ans I want to start being a little more active. Nothing crazy, but rather a nice way to leave the house", you suggested, being met with your husband's sparkly eyes, "of course, darling. I'll get him a new outfit, we're going to be matching!", he smiled as he noticed the colour pattern you were going for.
