yknow i thought once i got to college i wouldn't have to worry about being nervous about leaving my room (bc my family were elsewhere in the house and i didn't want to Deal With Them)

but alas i have found a new reason to be nervous about leaving my room: i get Anxious around new people and i hardly know my roommates at all :P

and i know the solution to this is to share a space with them and slowly get to know them as we cross paths through the communal space in our dorm. but. aaaagh.

luckily they seem to mostly be room-dwellers as well. but they at least sort of knew each other beforehand, i'm the new guy :/

I am reading the Neapolitan Quartet by Elena Ferrannte (I finished My Brilliant Friend on Friday and I'm almost 200 pages into the second book now) and I have so many thoughts about complicated female friendships, loving 'ugly' places, women's fiction, etc. But my main thought is just how nice it is to pick up a book that you would have never picked yourself based on a friend's recommendation and find out that you actually really like it.
