the bathroom was a sanctuary of warmth and light, the soft glow of countless candles bouncing off the tiled walls. their golden flicker painted sarah's face in a way that made her beauty seem almost otherworldly. scattered rose petals floated lazily on the water’s surface, their crimson edges curling against the heat of the bath. the scent of roses mingled with the faint tang of lavender bath salts, creating an atmosphere so soothing it felt like stepping into a dream.

you leaned back against the porcelain tub, letting the water cradle you. sarah slid in beside you, her movements fluid and graceful, like she belonged there. she let out a soft sigh as the warm water embraced her, her legs brushing against yours under the bubbles.

“this feels… perfect,” sarah said softly, her voice tinged with something you couldn’t quite place—maybe contentment, maybe something more.

you smiled, unable to take your eyes off her. the way the candlelight caught the golden strands in her hair, the flush of her cheeks from the heat—it was all mesmerizing. “you look like you were made for this,” you replied, reaching out to brush a damp strand of hair away from her face.

she tilted her head into your touch, her lips curving into a small, almost shy smile. “i think i was made for this,” she murmured, her voice dropping as her fingers found yours beneath the water. “for you.”

your heart skipped at her words, the weight of them settling between you like a secret finally spoken aloud. “sarah…” you began, but the words caught in your throat as her fingers traced up your arm, sending shivers through you despite the heat of the bath.

“shh,” she whispered, her voice soft but insistent. her eyes locked onto yours, the light in them as captivating as the candles that surrounded you. “you don’t have to say anything. just… let me show you.”

her hand cupped your cheek, her thumb brushing over your skin with a tenderness that made your breath hitch. slowly, achingly so, she leaned forward. the world seemed to pause in that moment—the flicker of the flames, the sound of the water shifting, the steady beating of your heart.

when her lips finally met yours, it was soft and tentative, like she was asking for permission. you answered her by leaning in, deepening the kiss, the warmth of her mouth rivaling the heat of the bath.

she smiled against your lips, her hands sliding down to rest on your shoulders. “i’ve wanted to do this for so long,” she admitted, her breath warm against your skin as she pulled back just enough to speak.

you gazed at her, your fingers brushing over the curve of her jaw. “why didn’t you?”

she gave a quiet laugh, shaking her head. “i thought… maybe i’d ruin it. what we have. but now…” she trailed off, her eyes dropping to your lips before meeting your gaze again. “now i don’t care. i just want this. want you.”

her confession stole the air from your lungs, and without thinking, you pulled her back to you. the kiss was deeper this time, more urgent, her hands tangling in your hair as the water rippled around you both.

you broke apart only when the need for air became too much, your foreheads pressed together as you both caught your breath.

“sarah,” you whispered, your voice trembling with the weight of everything you felt for her. “you’re all i want, too.”

her smile was radiant, her eyes shining as she leaned in to kiss you again. the night stretched on, the water growing cooler, the candles burning low, but none of it mattered. all that existed was her—her touch, her laughter, her love—and the promise of a world you’d build together.
