Michael Felix’s Madda armchair in mustard.
The Madda is a contemporary interpretation of the classic club chair. The metal base fully wraps around the chair, as if to squeeze it into it's plump and comfortable upper seating area.

Abby Anderson / Mandolorian AU
Summary: Abby as a Mandolorian. No specific relationship to reader yet (will obv get into if this turns into a fic).
Warnings: smut, MDNI, some fluff holy fuck Madda wrote fluff?? Fingering, cunnilingus, switch!abby, switch!reader, cannon typical violence, no y/n, only description of reader is having hair, making up shit about space and Star Wars uni that I don’t know!!!it’s fine!!!
A/N: hey babies, so I’ve been sittingggg on this idea for a sec and idk if it will gel with you guys so pls lmk if this would be something you’re interested in. I guess this is a blurb?? If you wanna see it turn into a fic pls let me know:))
✩ ✩
Mando!abby who takes off her gloves so she can feel how wet you really are, even when you promise her.
Mando!abby who let’s you trace your fingers along her face in the darkness of the night so you can imagine what she truly looks like. The first time you weren’t expecting her vulnerability, she had just fucked you senseless as you laid there heaving when she pulled your shaky fingertips to her defined face, allowing you to let them roam freely.
Mando!abby who took her helmet off for the first time when you were laid inbetween her thighs, lapping at her swollen clit. She wanted you to hear her pathetic whimpers that no one else had. You squeezed your eyes shut tightly when you heard the rustling of the helmet come off, but she trusted you… “k- keep going baby I- jus’ wanna watch you”
Mando!abby who couldn’t help but to admit her real name with you as she had you bent over her bed, helmet off heavy breathed over the shell of your ear, driving her soaked fingers into your needy cunt. “F-fuck Mando…” you pathetically breathe out, muffled by the thin white fabric of her bed. “Abby,” Mando remarked flatly. It took you aback at the unrecognizable name, your body froze as your mind raced, did she call you the wr- “call me abby,” she corrects herself. A guttural breath you didn’t notice you were holding escapes your lips. Abby…Abby. A delicate name for the otherwise ruthless murderer. The name swirled aimlessly in your mind over and over again…abby.
Mando!abby who’s secret you knew. She was able to go unrecognized as a woman in her field, tweaking her modulator so her voice came out husky, her build making her larger and more threatening than any other mandolorian you had seen before. She didn’t want them to treat her differently, think less of her ability. You accidentally stumbled upon her well held secret when she came back to the ship with a gash across her abdomen. She tried hiding it from you, but it came up so close on her chest you unknowingly forced it out of her. You froze at the sight of her black bra peeking under her tunic, cheeks flushed. “Don’t say a fucking word,” she bit under her breath. You internally pulled yourself together with your new found information on the mysterious killer, wild eyed averting your gaze back to her cover eyes, eyes that you’ll never see. “Okay.” You said with an attempt at confidence. An attempt at reassurance. She had no reason to trust your word, but she did.
Mando!abby who insists on showering your body even if the lights are on. A stupid fucking ship. If the shower was running the lights had to be on. This was an automatic off zone for you when things started with you and abby. Not only could you see her face, but her entire body would be revealed to you in the intimate space of the well-lit shower. Her body that you had only seen bits and pieces of in desperate, heavy breathed moments, but never her face. But when you had returned from a rather brutal hunt, blood caked in your hair, she insisted to clean you off. “B-but abby-“ before you can protest she began removing your blood soaked clothing out of your sight behind you, “just close your eyes, I’ll stand behind you. I’m not leaving you by yourself for another moment,” the tang of her sweet voice fluttered your ears, unmarked by the hardness of the modulated voice of her visor.

The brain is a cultured organ. It depends on exposure to learn. Only a small part of learning is conscious. Every day, with every person we meet and every conversation we have and every piece of music we hear, as our brains process that environmental stimulation, they are also changing to accommodate it. Things that only happen once, or experiences that are not emotionally significant, won’t leave much of an impression, but repeated or emotionally charged experiences leave indelible marks. In just the same way, our ideas about illness and health are woven into our brains. Our attitudes to bodily changes, how we interpret and react to symptoms, who we turn to for help, how we explain disease, the treatment models on which we rely are all learned. It is a fluid system, of course. As new influences move in, our brains adapt to accommodate them. Below the level of our conscious awareness, an internal physical feeling is translated into a response by cultural norms. If it’s winter in the UK and you feel unusually tired, you might think you’re developing the flu you reach for the vitamin C and paracetamol and take to bed. Somebody else, living somewhere entirely different, will follow that identical feeling of tiredness to a completely different cause and solution. In Madda’s words, ‘we embody cultural models of illness.’

Allah calls Himself An-Naseer— The Helper— on five occasions in the Quran. An-Naseer is the one who helps and supports His slaves. He is the One who backs, strengthens, defends, and aids the believers, and there is no helper but Him!
The Helper, the One who supports and defends
Naseer comes from the root noon-saad-raa, which points to four  main meanings. The first main meaning is to help or give support and the second to defend a cause. The third main meaning is to grant victory or let triumph. The fourth is to baptize or make Christian.
This root appears 158 times in the Quran in 10 derived forms. Examples of these forms are yansuru (“He helps”), yantasiroona (“help or defend themselves”), al nasru (“the victory”), nasaaraa (“Christians”) and naasireena (“helpers).
Linguistically, there are different words used in the Quran referring to kinds of help. Examples are ista’anah (linked to Allah’s beautiful Name Al-Musta’aan) which means all sorts of help, ayada, az’ara, madda etcetera. The noun nasr includes help against an oppressor and help when wanting to overpower someone else.  Nasrullaah is the help of Allah ‘azza wa jall which cannot be equalled to any other kind of help.  Allah is An-Naseer, He is the ultimate Helper, Supporter and Defender of His believing slaves.
An-Naseer Himself says: . . . He is your protector; and excellent is the protector, and excellent is the helper [Quran, 22:78] … And Allah is most knowing of your enemies; and sufficient is Allah as an ally, and sufficient is Allah as a helper [Quran, 4:45] … And thus have We made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals. But sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper [Quran, 25:31] and … But if they turn away – then know that Allah is your protector. Excellent is the protector, and Excellent is the helper [Quran, 8:40]
Different types of victory
An-Naseer says: But Allah is your protector, and He is the best of helpers [Quran, 3:150] The help or victory (nasr) of Allah ‘azza wa jall is of different types described by the scholars.
One type is the victory that is deserved; it comes with a price, which is faith and preparation. For example the victory of worthiness of the sahaabah at the battle of Badr. This is the type of victory for the believer who obeys Allah ‘azza wa jall and wins.
The second type is a victory that is not deserved by the faith and obedient behaviour of a certain group, but Allah ‘azza wa jall decrees victory for them according to His wisdom in that situation.
The third type is the principal victory, which might not be seen as victory by others, but in reality indicates the true victory of a human being. An example are the believers in the story of the Ditch described in surah Al-Burooj, who were killed in masses. And the hairdresser of the daughter Fir’awn of whom her children and herself were thrown in boiling oil. How did they win? They stood by their belief in Allah ‘azza wa jall and principles and gained the ultimate victory: the pleasure and reward of An-Naseer for the martyrs with the highest Paradise.
How can you live by this name?
Aid Allah’s cause.
An-Naseer says: If Allah should aid you, no one can overcome you; but if He should forsake you, who is there that can aid you after Him? And upon Allah let the believers rely [Quran, 3:160]. Help in Allah’s cause by defending Islam, spread the message of the Quran and standing by your Islamic principle. Teach the children to stand up for the truth by showing them the correct role models and hero’s of Islam, both contemporary and from the past. The Muslim nation is in need of those who stick to the principles of Islam. So get close to the Quran and inspire others to, use it as a guidance in your actions and the help of Allah will come. O you who believe! If you help (in the cause of) Allah, He will help you, and make your foothold firm [Quran, 47:7]
2. Help your brothers and sisters. As part of a hadith recorded by Muslim, the Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: …Allah is helping the servant as long as the servant is helping his brother. The point is to look out actively where you can help your brothers and sisters so you will get the help of An-Naseer in return. Sometimes you can help someone financially by paying their debts, spiritually by giving them emotional support and advice or even by your reputation or authority. Use all the means An-Naseer gave you to help those in need!
3. Don’t be lazy. Sometimes people get frustrated and imagine that Allah will not help them. Never mistrust Allah and His help! To deserve the help from An-Naseer you must strongly believe in Him and His attributes. Take your inspiration from Musa ‘alayhi sallam: And when the two companies saw one another, the companions of Moses said, “Indeed, we are to be overtaken!
[Moses] said, No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me [Quran, 26:61-62] But don’t just have faith alone without action. You need to prepare as well; don’t be lazy and expect the support of Allah to come! So think well of Allah, believe in Him and do whatever you can in taking pre-cautions.
4. Know help comes from Allah alone. Never think you were helped in a certain situation, just because you made the right decision or because you were so skilful. Don’t say “I did this and succeeded”, rather say “Allah is my Helper and all success comes from Him alone”! A subtle way An-Naseer helps you is when He fills your heart with happiness and security when you make a right decision and He fills it with anxiety and pessimism when you make a wrong decision. So recognize the help of Allah in your life and be grateful.
5. Live by Surah An-Nasr. Surah An-Nasr [Quran 110] or the Victory, teaches you many lessons: apply them! This surah indicates the successfull spread of Islam, the near-approaching death of the Prophet and describes etiquettes to observe after gaining victory after going through lots of struggles. Instead of being arrogant, you should praise Allah, thank Him and seek His forgiveness.  So next time you gain something or succeed after a challenge; say subhanAllah, alhamdulillah and astaghfirullah from the heart!6. Call on An-Naseer.
How many times are people diagnosed with fatal diseases, doctors pronounce no hope and they are completely healed by the help of Allah? Call for the help of An-Naseer alone – even though He mght send His help through other people or even objects –  and He can help you defeat any disease, enemy or any struggle you are dealing with, mentally, psychically or materially! Wallahu ta’alaa ‘alem.
To read about some of the beautiful Names that are related in meaning to An-Naseer and how to live by them as well click below. Al Mawlaa Al Waliy Al Musta’aan O Allah, An-Naseer we know that You are the only Helper. Make us of those who aid Your cause and help our brothers and sisters so we receive Your help in return. Make us strong in our belief in Your help and active in seeking it and make us realize You are the only source of help and be grateful for it. Grant us victory and success in this life and most importantly the ultimate victory of Jannatul Firdaws, ameen!

I feel him slipping away
My favorite is this recording from Knot Free Productions in 2019. The harmonies come through clearer than any others I've found (of which there aren't many), and the pacing is faster too. I don't listen to this production often because I really don't like the Marvin, thankfully he isn't in this song!

My Newsies (UKsies) ramblings of small details that I have noticed from various performances.
I've seen the show 4 times.
Reblog with adds.
Unless otherwise stated these observations are relating to the principal cast.
I don't know if these are in every show, or are just things I've seen.
Davey starts the show with his waistcoat done up, as he becomes part of the Newsies it becomes undone. He only does it up when he is around Katherine and when he goes to Pulitizer.
Davey is the eye roll king. He rolls his eyes when Jack persists about them being partners, he rolls his eyes at Medda when she tells him to let Les keep on looking at the girls, he rolls his eyes at Katherine when she first starts talking to the boys at the diner.
Jack hits Les (Nadim) and sends him flying, and Davey is restrained by another Newsie.
When Jack and Davey confront the scabs Crutchie stands facing Woodside holding his rosary and recites the Lords prayer. He looks up to the cieling as he prays.
When the Newsies are 'sleeping' during TBL they aren't just catching their breath from the insane dancing, they lay their twitching like they are dreaming.
At Madda's a Newsie pickpockets one of the patron's (Bronx side), but all he gets is a hankie and looks really sad.
Alex James-Hatton plays a patron at Maddas, he leers at one of the girls and reaches out to touch her, and Madda swats his hand away
In CTB two Newsies almost get into a fight and have to be seperated, as they walk away one pulls a kissy face at the other.
Crutchie and Specs have rosaries on
The first time they go through the circulation gate Race looks up at the races results on the board above Flushing
In CTB the nun who gives Elmer a coin and asks when he is going to church keeps eye contact with him for her entire solo. It was kinda flirtatious
Morris Delancy living his best life kicking balled up papes at the Newsies in the fight scene
When the Brooklyn Newsies come to the rally Spot goes up to Davey, gets into his personal space and winks at him. He pushes Les behind him and steps back, almost falling into Les.
On the wall by the Headline board there are the race times and results
Next to that there is an advert for barbers (link to KofNY)
A Newsie pick pockets Darcy at the start
When Jack asks for volunteers to go to Brooklyn two of the Newsies put their bags over their heads
When the Newsie who order seltza takes the water instead, Race grabs the cup of seltza, but it is snatched back quickly and Jacobi slaps him round the back of this head
Albert checks out Davey in the circulation queue when he first arrives. Albert looks him up and down when his back is turned. He then gestures up and down with his hands (up and down in the direction of Davey's back) to the Newsie behind him. He then points at Davey's backside and grins at the other newsies lecherously and waggles his eyebrows.
There's something about Christ on the wall above the Bronx (I didn't get a picture)
Race walks upto Wiesel and closes the tin and just says "no"
When everyone leaves Jack and Pulitzer to negotiate, Hannah turns to Madda and says "I love your show by the way. It's wonderful"
When Madda says to FDR "the back seat I've heard so much about" he waggles his eyebrows and goes "ey ey"
Specs points up to Jack's penthouse to tell Katherine where to go.
The stage has newspaper names projected onto it
