Handcuffs + Riley + Mac
As you know, the writers gave us some spoilers from MacGyver's season 5 and with a sentence that would mention the fact that they are both linked in expected way, I had this idea that came up all of a sudden last night, I hope you like it. Hope you enjoy
Riley looked all around her, the exile was at least pushed back a few hours, they had to separate with Desi, Russ had stayed in Los Angeles with his leg which was not yet healed. Desi, instead of protecting the back of her team, had to choose the best option available to her, fleeing to try to get a device that would allow them to reach the exfil. She knew that this was the best option and that Mac, even if he needed someone to watch his back, would get through it without too much trouble and Riley was by her side, which reassured her a lot. Both of them were able to watch each other's backs and avoid the worst. Mac hadn't said a word since they had entered that little wooden shack, they had a few bad people after them who didn't mean to do them any good at the time. The hacker looked around, it was cops who had come to get them and on the table were various objects that Mac was using a second time to do his Macsplaining. He had managed to knock out the first three cops but the others were in the back, the couple had heard him and were ready to attack them shamelessly. - Riles? he asked. She nodded her head for a few seconds to refocus on the sound of Mac's voice, her leg was hurting like hell, a bullet was the cause. - What's going on? - Nothing, don't worry, so what does your plan say? - Riles? Asked the blond boy a second time again with a worried voice. - I promise you it's okay. Mac wasn't sure if she was telling the truth, a piece of tissue was wrapped around her knee, the bullet hadn't hit the bone according to Mac and must have hit the soft parts but he wasn't a doctor and didn't have any degree that could attest to that. - What would you say if we left to join Desi? - I would tell you that it's a good idea and that I'm ready to follow you to the end of the world if I had to. The young woman had bitten her lower lip, it was the truth, she could have followed him very far and proved him wrong. He looked where the door was, according to the noises he heard, the two other policemen were not far away and we had to hurry. The blond boy didn't have many options, he took the second bottle of this mini-bomb from the last one he had left and the pair of handcuffs in the other hand. Riley watched him take them, she didn't have much use for the pair of handcuffs and was ready to hear what he was going to tell her. - What are you going to do with these? Asked her. - Actually, I have an idea, but I don't know if you'll like it? She gave him one of her most beautiful smiles, he knew he wouldn't like it, but it was one of the only ideas that came to his mind. Especially since Riley was certainly willing to try anything to get away with it in any way he could. - I'm listening Mac, you have my full attention. - I was thinking we could take this pair of handcuffs and then we'd be tied together, I could protect you more easily that way. The bullet she had received had made him understand certain things, he didn't want to lose her and if he had to spend the rest of the 10 km walking to where Desi was supposed to be, it was one of the best things that could happen to them. She looked at him and had to admit that this idea had sprouted a little bit in her mind, her leg was hurting her and if the bombs were that powerful, they would have a chance to let them have a free hand until they found Desi. This would allow her to rest on the blondie for the whole trip. He looked at her, she was gently rubbing herself where it hurt. He bent down and raised his head with his most beautiful smile, he started to pull up the tab of his pants. - They didn't miss you! he affirmed. - It's going to be okay as long as we don't run the marathon," the young woman said. She knew that he ran almost every morning before going to work, it allowed her to clear her head before another day. - I promise we'll get there," she said. She looked at him and didn't say anything, her cobalt blue eyes asserted themselves and that was enough for Riley. He got closer to her and felt her heart beating even faster than usual, it must have been because he was closer to her. - Are you ready? he said. - Certainly! replied the young woman. Mac took the pair of handcuffs in his hands and decided to tie it to the young woman's left hand first, he felt a discomfort, this time it wasn't a game to try to fool someone, this second time it was a race for freedom, with two hearts trying to save their own lives.

Words I Could't say
I may not be your first date, kiss or love but I want to be your last everything
this little one shot is inspired by the song What if (I told you I Like you) by Johnny Orlando and Mackenzie Ziegler and a beautiful vid make by a friend Rachel Discussions that I have with great people who will recognize themselves, I think, I love you guys !! The title was a song by Rascal Flats Thanks to Rachel for the sentence, that sums up the fanfic !!
Bozer watched his two best friends, Mac & Riley, one sitting on one of the brown armchairs in the war room and the other from behind. She was looking at the screen, which was turned off.
Her hair was loose and not wavy. The young woman hadn't even looked back at those she considered to be her family.
It had been over a month since they had both returned from their respective sick days and both had been avoiding each other as much as possible. This undercover operation that Riley had conducted to the best of her ability nearly went sour literally. Without Mac's intervention, she could have ended up dead and never told him how she felt about the blondie.
"You two should think about getting things straight, you really should," Mac's best friend of over 20 years told two of his best friends.
"Boze" said the young woman who had turned around to face him. Mac didn't say anything, he just looked at the two of them, they were important to him, but the young woman was even more important to him.
She hadn't avoided him this time like she had the other times. The sky was now raining down on her as never before.
The death of Elwood killed to make him pay for being an undercover American agent.
The young woman felt the wound remind her of her, a bullet had hit her shoulder and torn her aorta, the hacker had seen her life flash before her eyes believing she was at death's door.
Mac had stepped in and rescued her, and she decided to tell him how she had felt about the blond boy for a lifetime. He had always known this and had replied that he too thought it was the end.
Since then, the two of them had been avoiding each other as much as possible.
Mac's best friend had just closed the door leaving them both alone, he could see Mac's blue eyes becoming threatening, if Mac had a machine gun instead of eyes, it would have been the end for him.
"I think he's right, we need to talk seriously about all the things we've been avoiding saying to each other for a while now.
"What do you mean by that? "said the blond boy.
"Do you really think about us? 禄
"I don't understand," he replied;
"When you told me, I love you right after what happened, did you mean it? 禄
The phoenix officer lowered his head, it was really what he was thinking and what he felt for the hacker.
"Yes," he whispered as he lowered his head.
"Do you think we can do it? "replied the young woman.
"I don't know, I don't have any good answers for you.
"I'm afraid that if we try, we'll lose everything," she replied.
"Why would we lose everything? I don't understand? 禄
"Before I told you how I felt about you, I tried to take everything into consideration.
She looked at him and imagined what could make a big brain like Mac's work.
The young woman moved closer to him, he had gotten up from the chair at the same time as she was handling a paper clip in the bowl. The previous shape didn't work for her, her hands were shaking and Riley had noticed that.
"What's going on, Mac? "asked the hacker.
Gently she had placed her hands on the young man's hands.
To calm him down, he needed Riley to talk to him, it helped restore order to the blond boy's brain.
A second time, he had failed to establish the shape he wanted the paper clip to take and this seemed to frustrate him.
At the same time, he was thinking about everything they had just said to each other, he didn't want to spoil everything between the two of them, they were more than just colleagues, more than friends, it was a certainty.
"I'm sure that everything will go well between us, but I understand that you don't want to, you're afraid of ruining everything, am I wrong? 禄
He raised his head, a few tears in the corner of his eyes.
"But if everything went really well, we can always try and see how it goes between us, we see what happens? 禄
"What if it was the opposite that happened? 禄
She lifted his chin, her dimple that made her so cracked, Riley got even closer to him and put his head against hers.
"I promise you that everything will go well because tomorrow we will always be together, I know it will be complicated at first but we will do everything we can to make it work, I may not be your first date, your first kiss or your first love, but I want to be your last everything.
His words had reassured him as never before. He put his lips on the young woman's lips. She was surprised, both of them seemed to have waited so long for this moment that they hadn't imagined it any other way. Bozer had just come up, he was on his way to the war room and was surprised to see his two best friends in each other's arms at last. It seemed like he had been waiting for an eternity for this moment.
"If Sparky knew that," the young man said.
It was the robot that had made the remark to Bozer with Mac in the lab, the blond boy had pretended not to understand what was going on but it seemed to be clear to Bozer after all.
Angus Macgyver and Riley Davis were definitely made for each other.

Ordinary Day
When a successful mission nearly cost Riley her life and Mac is watching over her. Potential Spoilers Season 5 after some pictures !!
The car had just stopped in front of the small mound that led to the front door. It was always nice to come back here even after a mission like the one they had just finished. Blondie knew that easily, he took a look in his rear-view mirror and watched the hacker sleeping. Her blanket was pulled up to her chest and her eyes were closed. She hadn't even heard the 4x4 stop in front of the blondie. - Riles whispered softly to the young man to wake her up. Her face was drawn, being treated at the hospital for a gunshot wound was no picnic in itself. There was always a nurse who came to see if everything was all right, or the doctor with the interns who examined the young woman from every angle, and last but not least, they ate very badly. The young woman had decided that this was more than enough and had asked the doctor to be allowed to leave without medical advice, she had left a few hours earlier and under the watchful eye of Mac who had decided to accompany her to his home. She had suffered a gunshot wound to her abdomen during a mission and had to stay in one of the best hospitals in the area when they returned to Los Angeles. The young woman winced, the stitches were pulling on the wound, which was still quite fresh, and Mac seemed less worried than he had been when he first heard what had happened. The pain of almost losing her was still fresh in his mind. - Is everything okay?" he asked. - Yes, don't worry," the young woman replied. He decided to get the first one out of the car and to go and get her back to help her get out of the car, and he did so very gently. Riley hadn't waited for Mac, she had done it very gently and he heard the young woman moaning, it wasn't very pleasant but at least she could get out more easily. He opened the passenger door on the right side and offered her his hand, which she accepted with some embarrassment. His gestures were uncertain and he decided to get out of the car as gently as possible, knowing that he was next to her. - I've got you," said the blond boy. Even more delicately, he placed his hand above her waist, aware that he was ready to do anything to prevent her from giving in. - Do you feel ready? he asked again. Mac was so afraid of hurting her in the gestures he was making. - Yes, we can go. She stepped over the top of the door with the help of the blond boy and finally put both feet on the ground. The two of them started to take a few steps, Riley felt her head turning. She was wondering if it hadn't been better to stay in the hospital for a few more days. She had also overheard a conversation between Mac & Matty while she was getting ready in the bathroom adjoining the room. The director of Phoenix had agreed to give the blondie a few days off. Which according to Bozer was really rare. In the almost six years she had known him, Mac had never taken much time off. - Do you want us to stop for a few moments? - That wouldn't be a refusal, she answered. He decided to stop walking for a few moments and let her rest, but stayed by her side, holding her hand. - Is that true?" Riley said. He was looking at his cell phone, Boze had sent him a message to see if they were home. - What's true? What are you talking about? - While I was getting ready, I caught you & Mattu talking about time off. He lowered his head and didn't even think about the hacker in the next room. - Oh not much, I was asking him if it was possible to take a few days off, that's all. - Why? It's because of me, isn't it? Mac felt the red sting in her cheeks, she had guessed it and he had to change his strategy right away. - I just need to rest - It's not in your habit, you know, I can take care of myself, I'm old enough for that. - I know, it's just that I worry about you, you never know how far in advance you're going to go and you know it as well as I do. - That's true, you have a point. She touched the wound which was covered with a bandage and was covered with one of Mac's sweaters and it looked like it was three times too big for her. By the way, it wasn't just a small, unimportant wound. He hadn't been able to lie to her completely, which was a big first for the young man. The young woman was shivering, it was time to go inside the house because she felt it was urgent to lie down, her head was spinning. The phoenix officer noticed him and asked him the same question for the umpteenth time. - Is everything all right? - Can we go home? - Yes, don't worry. The two of them took a few more steps when the hacker felt herself leaving. - The doctor should have insisted even more that I stay. The young woman replied before fainting. - Riles exclaimed the doctor. Mac had just enough time to catch her before her head hit the ground. He gently took the young woman in his arms and carried her inside the house. - I've got you now," the young man threw in his ear again. Mac was able to open the front door with some difficulty and walked a few steps to the couch to put her down. She had felt so light in her arms that she would have stayed in that position indefinitely. Mac was standing over the young woman, her fingers were stroking one of her cheeks, even when she fainted, she felt her hand, which was very soft, caressing her. Riley must have been dreaming. - So we wake up, sleepyhead? Her eyes blinked softly, she felt the closeness with her beautiful blond too close for her taste. Riley tried to get up, but the wound and Mac's hand had brought him back to her good memories. - Slowly what are you going to do? - I don't know, I wanted to go to my room to rest. - You collapsed not so long ago and you should stay here for a few moments to rest, then I'll take you back to your room. - All right, as you wish, will you help me? She was trying to take off Mac's sweatshirt three times too big for her, but the gestures were hurting her more than anything else. Her face was still too close to his, Riley could feel the young man's heart beating even faster in his chest. He, too, seemed to be more than embarrassed by this situation, they had managed to remove the sweater from her. He decided to put it on one of the chairs in the kitchen and head to his room. - Mac where are you going?" asked Riley in a panic. - I'm here, I'll be right back. He had gone to his room to get something necessary when we were planning a nap on the couch. A pillow and a blanket. - I can go to my room, I promise. - No, you stay here, you remember having had a seizure, you need to rest and then we'll see about the room. She took a look at him, he was really worried about her. Mac had put the pillow just behind the young woman's head, there was a nice smell but she couldn't tell if it was his aftershave or the washing powder he was using. Riley stuck her head into the pillow, it was such a nice feeling as if the blondie was right next to her and he was holding her in his arms. She was struggling not to fall asleep, the ten kilometers between the hospital and Mac's house had literally exhausted her. - Try to get some rest Riles. Gently, he placed the blanket over his friend who was more than a friend to him. - I'm watching over you and nothing will happen to you as long as I'm by your side. He stood up to put a kiss on her forehead, she had a smile on her lips. Riley knew that Mac would always be there to protect her, even at the risk of his own life.

You were never my second choice
There was a smell of bleach or disinfectant in the air, the blondie would not have been able to tell. Mac had his hand around the young woman's waist, he was directing her towards the emergency entrance.
The young woman had just been taken as a moving target by men that Phoenix had been looking for some time and had taken a bullet that had hit her in the shoulder.
Mac had made the initial findings, the bullet had passed through the shoulder and exited on the other side causing almost no damage to the young woman.
A nurse saw them arrive and directed a stretcher towards them.
With the help of the blond boy, she decided to have the young woman sit on it.
Riley had a lot of trouble, the stretcher was so high that Mac helped her to sit on it.
- I'm coming back," the nurse said to the couple.
Mac smiled at her and turned to the hacker.
- Don't worry," he said with a smile.
There were a few ambulances that had just arrived right behind them, probably people who had also been victims of this terrorist group that Phoenix had been looking for some time.
- how are you doing?
He had moved away from the young woman and stood in front of the second door to her right. She still had her arm against her chest and seemed exhausted from all the commotion outside.
- Not too bad considering how lucky I was.
- You were very lucky, you know that! Just a few inches away and I don't know if I could have got you to the emergency room as quickly as I am now.
She lowered her head as if to regret having said that. He had noticed that he had just hurt her feelings.
It wasn't voluntary but Riley knew Mac was telling the truth.
He looked down in turn, the young man didn't want to cause her as much pain as he did now, he knew that was what was happening, the tears that were falling on the ground were proof of that.
- I'm sorry," he replied.
- That's all right," said the young woman.
She was moaning, her favourite leather jacket and one of her favourite T-shirts had holes in it. He took a look at the young woman, he didn't like to see her suffer.
- What's going on?! Are you in pain?
- No, it's just that I realise I'm going to have to throw away one of my favourite jackets that certainly can't be repaired and this T-shirt that I really liked.
Mac had never admitted this to her before but he cared about her more than anything else. They were more than just colleagues.
To tell you the truth, that wasn't what upset him more than anything, before starting the mission Matty had given them, they had had more than just a discussion, it was going too high between the two of them.
- Riles?
She hadn't even answered him, the young woman didn't want to have anything to do with his gaze.
- what's going on? Answer me if you like.
The young Phoenix agent had shaky hands.
- nothing, it's just that I was thinking about everything we said to each other before the mission started. You said a lot of things.
- That I wasn't thinking. Is it still that sentence I said to you? Do you still think you're a second choice for me?
She nodded her head, both of them could easily understand each other, they only had to look at each other to know what each other was thinking.
- You never were, those words went beyond my thoughts, I didn't want to hurt you in any way.
- But you said it and it hurt me
- That was not my intention.
His hands were shaking, the adrenaline seemed to have gone down below normal and the pain had just gone up a notch above earlier, the eyes were wet and both of them didn't dare look at each other for fear of hurting each other again.
The doctor had just arrived in the room and was followed by a nurse.
- what happened? Asked the nurse.
Matty had elbowed his way to what appeared to be a small field hospital, it was a small hospital on the border between Canada and the USA, according to the information Matty and Bozer had gotten from there, it was the only one for miles around. Their attackers had been arrested by the tac team of Phoenix and Desi who had joined them at the same time.
- We were surrounded by a few people who didn't have much intention. We could not take cover.
- I understand, unfortunately you can't tell me more.
Mac replied with a smile, the doctor had just taken the tray beside him, he was about to examine the young woman's wound. Mac decided to leave, but Riley's hand had held him back in his momentum.
- stay if you like
- Do you want it? I wouldn't want to hurt you any more than I already have.
- I'm sorry, I thought you didn't want me so much.
The doctor was out of the room for a few moments, he turned to the couple.
- I'm coming back, I'm missing a few things and I'm coming back.
- Don't worry," replied the young woman.
Once the doctor and nurse were out, Riley put his head on the young man's shoulder.
- I'm sorry, I should have listened to you" Riley said.
- It's me, I should never have gotten carried away like I did earlier.
She closed her eyes, aware that they would have to overcome many obstacles, but this discussion that had degenerated into an argument between them had not driven them apart but had strengthened the bonds between them.

Riley + Headache
A small but unimportant one-shot with Riley sick and a protective Mac.
The war room was a highly symbolic place within the phoenix foundation, where the atmosphere was quite normal. Bozer & Leanna had left for a simple reconnaissance mission in Paraguay and must certainly have been on their way back while the rest of the team was in front of the screen, they had been invited by the director of Phoenix to join them in the war room, she was with Riley. The three of them were sitting on the various chairs that adorned the war room, the team was checking out some documents, mission files. Some were due to be handed over to the supervisor by the end of the week and were incomplete or partially incomplete. Matty and Jack were discussing Jack's many aliases that had just popped up on the war room screens. As for Mac, he was looking at his cell phone, the next appointment with his father had just been cancelled by his father. He had informed him that he had an appointment with the oncologist and couldn't afford to miss it, the last blood test was pretty bad and his doctor had decided not to delay the next chemotherapy. Mac was upset because he had taken a liking to these appointments that his father had suggested, these lunches seemed to give him a lot of pleasure. The two of them had managed to partially recreate some of the bonds between them, and without meaning to, Mac's father had just taken a big step backwards. The blond kid knew that it wasn't his fault and that health was more important than anything else. For Mac, it seemed that things were not going to work out the way he wanted. Jack's laughter was echoing through the room and Riley couldn't take it anymore, she was holding her head in her hands. It seemed to come from one of the horror movies that she would have trouble watching if she was home alone. "Jack, your laugh is getting annoying, would you mind turning the volume down, I'm tired of hearing you laugh like that. "Riley, you have to laugh a little bit or your life is going to be monotonous in such a short time, look, isn't that funny? 禄 He was showing her the various aliases she already knew and the clothes attached to them, some of which seemed to have come straight out of Jack's closet herself. Jack got up from his seat and stood in front of the screen, he wanted to drag Riley into his dance but she refused. Mac looked at his best friend, he was a real clown. "Jack, the sooner we're done, the sooner you can go home, and that goes for everyone," said the Phoenix director. "I know, I just wanted to show this lady what life is all about! 禄 "Don't worry about that, I know what life is and I thank her every day that God makes her bring me everything I need. Riley looked in the direction of Mac, it was all she had ever wanted. Mac had turned to the young woman, he felt her gaze fall on him, he had found the way Riley had answered her very subtle, it was just a game between the two of them. The young woman found it difficult to look at the screen, a headache had appeared since she had woken up, and she had tried to avoid any light pollution that it was increasing. Luckily her backpack was right next to her, she bent down to grab the contents and was nauseous but had been holding back, especially in front of her friends and Mac. Riley decided to open the water bottle to take a sip of water, this had caught the attention of the blondie who was beginning to worry about the young woman. It was the first time he could see that she wasn't well and there was little he could do to help her except shut up Jack and his antics that weren't helping. Jack kindly asked his best friend to stop acting like a monkey and keep going. "Jack please, we could move on, everyone would like to go home, we're all tired". Riley acquiesced, he must have read her like an open book or he must have seen her take the tablet that she brought to her mouth a little more with water. "All right, as you wish, I hope you won't regret it because I won't play in front of you anymore, my dear public. A good ten minutes later, she was rubbing her eyes. Riley decided to put her computer on the coffee table and apologized to her friends. She needed to get out, she needed to get some fresh air because she might not feel well if she stayed here in the war room. "I'm sorry, but would you mind taking a break? At least 5 minutes if you don't mind? 禄 Matty looked at her, she looked pretty white. "No worries, everything's fine Riley," Matty asked. "Yeah, don't worry, it's just that being locked up in here all day is pretty tough compared to what I'm used to and I just need some fresh air. "I completely understand, would you prefer to go home and we can pick up again tomorrow if you want to". "No Matty, I'll be fine, just give me five more minutes, nothing more." The Phoenix manager nodded her head and interrupted the work they were doing. Riley ran as fast as she could and didn't even realize she was being followed by Mac right behind her. She had barely left the building when she had to stand aside so that no one could see her return her breakfast, only Mac had seen her, he had stayed behind her without saying anything, the blond boy approached the young woman to give her a handkerchief. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have followed you, but I was worried about you. "I'm fine, thank you." She stood up to wipe her mouth, but her words seemed unconvincing to Mac. "What's going on? You look like you've seen a dead body? 禄 "You, are you sure you're really okay? 禄 "Don't worry, I'm fine." "You should see yourself in a mirror, you're so white." She decided to pick up her cell phone to look at herself and realize that he was absolutely right. It must have been the phone that made her look bad, the sun was dazzling her and she wanted to hide her eyes. "Are you sure you really need just 5 minutes? 禄 "I think it should be okay, we can go home! "said the latter. She realized that her brain hadn't been listening to her, Riley was unable to take a few steps to get home. "We'll let Matty know that I'm going to take you home, you'll probably be a lot better off at home than here for once and it can wait. "No, I promise you it's gonna be okay Mac, I have to finish, the supervisor's counting on us, there's not much left." "But you can't and Matty I think she will, you know, I can easily change her mind and don't tell me otherwise! 禄 She rubbed her eyes, tiredness could be seen on her face, she had been missing hours of sleep for some time. "Okay, but I don't want to bother you, you certainly have a lot to do right now. "Don't worry about me, I also want to go home, that gives me an excuse! 禄 He had smiled at him and they both went back to the war room, Matty was typing on his tablet, Jack was talking to someone on the other end of the line. They had both just gone inside, Mac walked towards the director. "Matty, can I talk to you? "he asked. "I'm listening, blondie. Mac was coming out of the war room accompanied by her, he closed the door. Riley had understood that he was going to make the necessary arrangements so that they could leave Phoenix instead. About ten minutes later, he opened the door again and sat down on the coffee table in the war room. Riley had a paper clip in her hands and she was trying to get it into shape but her brain was telling her to stop. "We'll stop there for today if you'd like," said the Phoenix director. Riley knew that Mac had been able to convince her, that wasn't the hard part. Jack watched his two friends talking to each other. "What kind of witchcraft is this? "he asked. He watched the woman he considered a friend take his tablet in his hands and head for the exit. "There is no witchcraft Jack, I asked Matty if we could leave instead and she agreed. "Of course she agreed, she doesn't even believe in me." "What, are you talking about? "asked Mac & Riley. "I'm good and she should help me subsidize my first one-man show, but she refused. "Maybe you're not as good as you want to pretend, Jack." He looked at her with his revolting eyes, she was teasing him. "What are you laughing at? "he asked. She closed her eyes for a few moments and was taken by a second vertigo. Jack had just gotten serious because he could see that Riley wasn't well. "What's going on, Riley? "Don't worry, I'm just a little sick but that's all but that's okay, I'm going to go home and I'll see you first thing tomorrow." "Where does it hurt? 禄 "Just in the head but it's okay, I'll be there first thing tomorrow." Jack had gotten close to the woman he considered his adopted daughter and began looking for other apparent injuries that were not immediately apparent. "It's okay, get off my back Jack, it's just a headache and nothing more. "Do you want me to walk you home? "asked Jack to make amends. "No, Mac has kindly offered to drive me home." "It's very nice of you, Mac, to bring my rift home." "It's normal. He glanced at the young woman, she couldn't take it anymore. "I'll see you tomorrow Jack! 禄 "See you tomorrow," said Jack. He approached the hacker to take her in his arms, her aftershave that smelled so good had amplified the pain of her headache and her nausea at the same time. All she wanted was for him to stop hugging her and for her to go home, take a shower and lie down in bed. He freed her from her muscular arms and Mac went to get her things from the team locker room. His car keys were in the back pocket of her jeans, he had come back and waved her off if she wanted them. "We're going?" "I'm ready, I'm with you." She had a small voice, a few black spots in front of her eyes and she had to stop for a few moments, the walk didn't seem to succeed. He hadn't heard the footsteps of the young woman behind him and he too stopped for a few moments to find out what was going on. "Riles, is everything all right? 禄 She nodded her head to tell him yes and ran to the same place as before. This time she couldn't even hide even from him. Riley was throwing up her stomach contents a second time and became dizzy, but Mac, who was right next to her, had unwittingly held her back. "I've got you, you won't fall with me. Riley realized how lucky she was, with Mac right behind her, the fall could have been pretty brutal when she thought about it. "Do you really want to go home? 禄 "Yes, why this question? 禄 It didn't bother her in the least, if she had to spend the rest of the day but she didn't like to bother her friends and especially the man she was in love with, being next to her in normal times could be normal since they worked together but in the same room while she was partly vulnerable, it wasn't the right equation according to her. "If I ask you this question, it's because knowing you with me would be good, you would need someone to look after you. "It's not the first migraine I've had and don't worry, it's very kind of you. "I don't mind and I don't have any plans if you want to know." It was as if he had read his thoughts a second time. She didn't want to admit it to him but being alone bothered her a little, she was not able to stay here especially since this migraine seemed more serious than the previous ones. "I don't mind if you don't mind? 禄 "Of what?" " Go to your place, I've been thinking, I think you're right " "All right." Both of them had gotten into the jeep, Mac had a smile on his lips but hadn't shown it to the young woman. He put the keys in the ignition and started the car without asking for the rest. Riley had put her head against the window, she started to fall asleep, the sound of the car seemed to have soothed her. Mac had opened the window on his side, which gave him a little bit of fresh air. At a red light, he took the opportunity to take a look at the young woman, she seemed totally tired. Working at Phoenix required a lot of sacrifice for one person and he was aware of this. Not a lot of rest and almost sacrificed privacy, the love relationships were disastrous. Riley seemed to have escaped all this, she & Billy despite everything that had happened were still together. A good half hour later and despite the traffic in Los Angeles, the car was parked in front of Mac's house. It was the sound of the engine that woke her up, the young woman was startled because she didn't realize they had arrived and she must have been snoring during that time. "Are you all right? "asked the blond boy. "Yes, I'm fine, I fell asleep and didn't even realize we'd arrived at your place." "It's okay, you needed to rest. "I think, I'm so tired I'd go to bed and I don't even have time to call her. Mac knew she was referring to the relationship she had with Billy Colton. God he could hate the guy, he seemed to be a little jealous of the relationship the two of them had together. That was for sure. He shook his head to erase those marks of jealousy, but they would not go away, that was for sure. The blond boy was the first to get out of the car and to help her get out praying that she needed his help. Sleeping the whole way even though it was short seemed to have done her good but she was hastened by another discomfort, Mac had seen her directly and helped her. It seemed as if heaven had heard her call. "I'm here, I've got you. His powerful arms had wrapped around her waist, she felt protected and the young man seemed so protective of her that Riley had not regretted what was happening. He decided to take her in his arms because he felt the hacker wasn't quite steady, she felt her body fly away in his arms. She put her arms around his neck, putting her head on his shoulder, the scent of her after-shave was something light that didn't bother her, both of them were on their way up to his house. She could have stayed in his arms for as long as she needed, Riley felt totally confident when he was there. The road was so short but so pleasant for both of them, they hadn't spoken, everything had been so quiet, they seemed to be in such osmosis. Sometimes life would try to bring two people together without even wanting to.

Chapter 2
Let me tell you a secret Put it in your heart and keep it Something that I want you to know Do something for me Listen to my simple story And maybe we'll have something to show (George Michael - Heal the pain)
Bozer looked all around him, Riley was also in one of the brown chairs, her computer was open, she was fast asleep, he thought.
She hadn't even heard her come in. He hadn't dared to bother her because he knew that she had been having nightmares on a regular basis for some time.
In fact, the nightmares had always been present and had been getting worse since that famous moment when a missile could have sent them to the other side of the southern hemisphere.
The young woman had woken up when she felt that the missile was trying to put its vest on her.
- What time is it?" asked the hacker. She looked all around her, the war room was the place she used to go when she wasn't in her room at Mac's house.
With her eyes half open and her hair in a mess, she glanced at her phone and realized it was past her bedtime. - It's a little after 10 o'clock, do you want me to take you home?
She was combing her hair with her hands, not wanting to scare her best friend, Riley straightened up, it was out of the question for her to go back home, Desi's presence made her want to run away from there.
- It's nice of you but Matty gave me a lot of work and I'd rather be here on the spot than going home.
Boze knew that she was lying to him, he saw her looking at his screen, this obsessive work was not in line with the Phoenix manager's work, he had not taken it into account and noticed the change in the young woman's behavior, she had become almost aloof with every member of the team without exception and even more so with Mac. Perhaps it was a way to protect himself, he knew his secret and had kept it well until now.
The young Phoenix agent knew that she was not in her normal state and could not do much about it, so he decided to shoot a second card of his choice anyway. - Why don't you come to the apartment for a few days? It would give you a chance to rest a little, don't you think? - It's nice of you but I like to live at Mac's but at the moment I don't have too much time to go home to rest. - Aren't you afraid of suffering even more than you already do? - What makes you say that I'm suffering? - Your body is screaming it, your attitude towards it, it doesn't bother me any more than that, I know you need to get away from it all and I'm here if you need me but he's been talking to me about it lately. - What did Macgyver say to you? - That you call him by his full last name, which is usually not very good and he thinks you are distant with him. She had gotten up from the chair with her hands on her hips. - What more does it take for him to leave me alone? It's written all over my forehead, right? - No, but you two should have a talk, you should think about telling him one of these days? Shouldn't I? - Why would I think that? So that he'll literally admit to me that he just considers me a friend and nothing else? That there's never going to be anything coming from him? - You know as well as I do that Mac is not someone who reveals himself as easily as he seems. - Macgyver doesn't care what he wants for God's sake, did you know that he was still with her after all that happened? So that's why she was constantly angry with him. A window of the internet explorer had just opened. It was a conversation with a real estate agent from an agency in the Santa Monica area. - Did you find what you were looking for? - No not yet, listen, you have to not talk about it, I know it's hard to keep a secret but two is even harder but you have to promise me that you will. - Don't worry, I know how to keep a secret and Miss Davis' secrets will be well kept. - Maybe I need to move on, it's not good for me. She had a few tears in the corner of her eyes, Bozer understood that she didn't need to draw a picture. - So what's good for you? - I don't know, I think there's a curse to all this, maybe I need to get away from here? - Are you really serious about this? - It's not the first time I've thought about it, Boze, but don't tell anybody. - Don't worry, your secrets will be safe with me. Mac & Riley's best friend had just taken his jacket and put it on, and he took a few steps and left the door open to the war room. This discussion was still hot in his mind, Riley wanted to get away from there, was this really what she wanted? He couldn't answer the question, but he had to be prepared for any eventuality coming from his best friend. The young man decided to take the shortest route to her lab, she decided to leave the door open in case he came back to see her and tried to convince her to come to the apartment again. The tears had been flowing ever since Bozer had left, she had to wipe them away before someone saw them and came to question her. The blond boy was still around, Riley shook her head and started rubbing her eyes, she wasn't inclined to want to move from there. The hacker had just rested her head on the armrest of the chair and had turned around to avoid facing the front door. She closed her eyes for a few moments, sleep decided to invade her again without asking her permission. Mac looked at the young woman who had been sharing his life for a little while as she walked out of the lab. He had waved his hand at her when he saw Bozer nearby, Bozer gnashed his teeth, the story with Desi had gone too far for him and Mac was messing things up with Riley. - Boze, I thought you'd already left? he asked; The young Phoenix agent was turning around to face his best friend and Sparky, who was sitting up long as if he was being operated on. - I'm just picking up my backpack and off I go. - Is something wrong? - No. Why? - Do I feel you sitting worried right now? - Just a little tired but I'm fine. - Don't worry, do you know if Riley is still here? - Last time I saw her, she was in the war room if I'm not mistaken, why do you ask? - Just to know, I'm worried about her, I haven't seen her for almost a week and she's avoiding me more and more, that's for sure. - One wonders why!" Bozer mumbled in his beard. Mac seemed to have pretended not to hear her or didn't want to talk about it either. - See you tomorrow," he said to his best friend of more than 20 years. - See you tomorrow, Boze. Boze left not without a last look at his best friend, his features were drawn and he too obviously didn't want to move from here. Mac decided to store the screwdriver in a box next to him and unplugged some of the wires that had been used to power Sparky to find out where the problem was coming from. The keys to his 4x4 were in his back pocket, he had only one thought in mind and decided to take the plunge, there was only one way to find out, and that was to talk to him. To understand why she was as cold as an iceberg in Greenland could be. The blond boy decided to go up the stairs four by four, the latter noticing Riley's presence in the war room as Boze had said a few moments earlier. She was sleeping on one of the brown armchairs. - Riles? murmured the latter hoping not to provoke her anger a second time in the day that had started so well. The blond boy got even closer to her, he noticed that the young woman's computer was blinking, the battery was almost dead. He decided to turn it off so as not to damage the computer and looked at a page that had caught his attention. The young woman decided to wake up at that moment, it was only the second time of the day that he had gone too far according to her. - What are you doing here MACGYVER? She got up and immediately closed her laptop. -Uh... (laughs) I'm sorry, your computer ran out of battery power so I wanted to turn it off, I'm sorry because I shouldn't have. -Listen to me, mind your own business next time, understand? He tried to find the technique that wouldn't keep him away for a few moments, we had to break it all down before it went any further. - Did I do something bad to you? - No, nothing, why? - You've been walking away from me for some time, calling me by my full last name and you're hardly ever in the field with me anymore. He was getting closer to her, but Riley was backing away as he walked. - I still have a lot of work to do, it was Matty who asked me and why, I wouldn't be allowed to call you by your last name, would you prefer I call Angus? Is it much better that way? He lowered his head and couldn't see how to relieve all this hatred poured out against him. - I'm sorry if I hurt you, I don't understand myself sometimes. He had turned to the other side, her tears were flowing, she was sure of it. - I'm sorry but I still have a lot of work ahead of me. The silence had just returned to the room, Mac had turned back to the young woman again, his eyes red but the tears were gone. - Don't worry, do you want me to wait for you? - That's okay, I'll just stay a little longer and finish what I have to do. - Don't you have something to tell me? She could see that he was trying a second time but she had to get him out of there before she totally exploded. Leaning over the front of her backpack to get what she needed, he had fried her and she was conscious. - It's nothing! Don't worry about it, worry about your girlfriend, maybe it's better this way. He felt her throat closing, conscious that she was hiding the truth from him a second time and putting even more distance between them than there already was.

Before it's too late
When a old friend of Phoenix asks Riley for help, jeopardizing the friendship between her and Mac
Chapter 1
If Angus Macgyver had found himself deep in a dark prison as he had done before, he could have made himself a pair of glasses that would help him defy the darkness. But he was not inside a prison, he was at home right now. He knew his home on the tip of his fingers, but his big toe had just met the corner of the coffee table. He had just profaned a curse by holding his toe in both hands. The blond boy had been awakened by a noise, his instinct had defied him to go and see what was happening, but when he walked towards the front door, the noise had stopped, replaced by someone crying. It was that with Riley in the house right now,
Desi had shared the blond boy's bedroom a few times but not this time, she had gone to join army comrades who had forced her to come and join her in one of those very select clubs in Los Angeles.
The room that had once been Bozer's room was now Riley's room, it had been occupied by Riley for more than 6 months. He decided to turn on the lamp that was next to the couch that lit up the rest of the room. The remains of the cans that came from the Chinese delicatessen and the beer corpses that were lying on it.
The blond boy shook his head, he had to concentrate again on the noises which turned out to be crying. He had to take a look to make sure the hacker was safe even though the situation seemed to be complicated between the two of them.
She had been safe since their return from Washington, D.C., and he had noticed a change in her behaviour. She seemed to be more distant with him and rarely shared their meal.
Mac walked back to the room, his toe was hurting, but it wasn't that bad compared to everything that had happened since they had met Codex.
At that moment, his attention was focused on the door to the front room, he was about to put his right hand on the doorknob but his heart was playing a tango that he could have done without.
He had to enter it as his instinct suggested, or else he had to stand in front of it and signify his presence.
His heart and his instincts were definitely in agreement, he had to enter it, it was not the only reason, he had to make sure that everything was going well for her.
It was Riley we were talking about, and despite everything that was going on between them, he cared about her more than ever.
Gently his hand was turning the handle, he made a quick motion and the door opened gently. Whatever the consequences of his gesture, the blond boy wanted to make sure she was okay.
"Riles ?" he whispered in the dark of the room.
His only light was that of the moon, which was really very high. Unfortunately Mac couldn't see much, he felt the calm returning to the room, Riley was sniffing discreetly in a tissue she had just taken.
She turned on the small bedside lamp on her bedside table, her phone was vibrating, he watched the number and name appear on the front of the phone. She decided to take it to turn it off completely.
He was seized when he saw Aubrey's name, he was one of Riley's last exes and Riley had broken up with her on that famous double date between him and Desi & Riley and Aubrey.
"What are you doing here Macgyver?" answered the angry voice of the young woman. He knew he was not allowed to enter the territory the young woman occupied. He was aware of the monumental mistake he had just made.
"I was... I not sure... 禄
He didn't have time to finish his sentence, she got up from her bed and moved closer to it. He took a few minutes to look at her from head to toe.
Riley had a few tears in the corners of her eyes, her hair seemed to be tangled and saw him looking at her. She wiped away her tears with a single gesture with one of her hands.
She was wearing a T-shirt that was three times too big for her, which certainly belonged to Jack because it had the effigy of the Hard-Rock AC/DC group on it.
Mac hadn't seen it on him directly, but he knew that Jack had enjoyed some of the band's songs. It wasn't the first time he had seen her wearing this outfit and she knew the effect it could have on him.
The noise was coming from your room so I went to see if it was okay, he answered clearly.
"You know that you don't even have permission to enter my Macgyver room here ! 禄
The blond boy felt a few drops on his back. It was the second time she called him by his last name, it sounded very strange coming from the young woman.
"If you're interested, I just had a nightmare but it's okay, you won't have to come next time to see if I'm okay, the best you can do is stay at the door when it happens again"
He lowered his head, what had he done to deserve all the coldness of the young woman when a few weeks ago everything seemed to be going well.
The blond boy decided to close the door of the young woman's room and took one last look at her. He deserved it and was aware that mistakes had been made.
Riley decided not to look at him when he closed the door on him. His heart had been broken into a thousand pieces again when she saw him take his girlfriend's hand and they had just come out of the senate right after the hearing for the file 47 .
She was voluntarily distancing herself from him. Her feelings for him were beginning to fade, but her heart wasn't listening to her as often as it should have been.
It was because of this all this coldness and anger towards Mac.

It鈥檚 never too late
Maybe it's never too late to notice things even when someone is closer to you than you think. And a best friend is always there in the most difficult moments, especially this one. This takes place between episodes 8 and 9 Season 4
Chapter 1
Riley was looking at her computer screen, she was in one of her favorite places with the war room. In the lab, there was only Bozer and her at the moment, very little traffic from the other scientists and technicians, it seemed like time was sort of suspended. If Mac had been there, he would have explained to them that it wasn't the case that time couldn't be suspended or something like that. But today he hadn't shown up for work, and Matty knew that she was the one who had given him a few days to organize his father's funeral. His cell phone had to be turned off because Desi had approached her and showed him the many messages she had sent him but he hadn't answered any of them, which was somehow normal, the blond kid had just lost his father and a few days later he had to make one of the worst decisions of all, to kill an innocent man to save 4 million of them. Riley wondered if Desi was really supporting her boyfriend or if she seemed to be overwhelming the blond boy even more. Mac had just lost his father, it was one of the hardest ordeals in a person's life, it was even harder for him because they had only recently reconnected and he hadn't had time to tell him how much he loved his father. You had to be behind him and not overwhelm him even more. Bozer had just arrived, he had gone to take a shower to try to mask the fatigue and then went out for coffee for him and his best friend, it had pushed away the desire to sleep but it didn't erase the fatigue which was very present. It had been a short night for Riley, she hadn't been back to Mac for at least 48 hours because she had done some research and she needed an excellent internet connection worthy of Phoenix, which wasn't really the case for the blondie. - What's up? Asked the latter while he had two cups of hot coffee in his hands and it was only an hour on his cell phone. - I just received a message from him, it seems that he is soon arriving in Los Angeles. He learned of the death of Mac's father and hastened to catch the first plane. The young woman was smiling at him, Bozer knew she had succeeded where some people would have failed. - However, he asked me to talk to Matty about some things and asked us to come see him tonight if we don't mind. - What did you tell him? We agreed, for sure ! - Of course, are you going to come with me or are you just going to stand there ? The latter had his head in both hands, he was dozing. - Boze !!! The latter jumped and watched the young woman leave the laboratory. He got up as if it was the end of the world approaching and joined his best friend, he really needed to sleep. That wasn't the only reason Riley had stayed here in Phoenix, she couldn't help thinking that she would be able to hold him and that he might do the same to her. The young woman clearly had to avoid showing him her feelings, he was a very good friend and nothing more. With Bozer, they had separated, the latter had been requested in another laboratory. Every time she got into the elevator she seemed to panic and petrified but she forced herself to do it, she had to see Matty and talk to him about the situation, the funeral was for the next morning and they had to set everything up. The doors had opened and she had to cross the hall to get to the war room. Once in front of her, she found Desi standing in front of the closed door. Matty was inside and unable to know what was going on because the white on the windows indicated that she must have been talking or someone was with her. The doors to the war room had just opened. - Riley? the young woman whistled. It was Desi, she hadn't expected to see her, she was due to leave for Washington within the day from what she understood. It was a testimony story for one of her former comrades-in-arms and she couldn't escape it. - Desi, what brings you here, I thought you were expected in Washington? Today? - I have to go see Matty, I was wondering if she could ask one of her high-ranking friends in Washington for a little help to move it to at least next week so I could be there. - If she can't? How are you going to do that? - Unfortunately, I should go ! Would you mind if I don't go? Riley shivered, she knew that Desi was a person who could easily change her behavior but it bothered her a lot, she wasn't very supportive and it hurt her more than anything else. - You can do whatever you want, Mac still lost his father and it's not insignificant, he needs you, he needs people who mean a lot to him, people who love him... - I know and you are one of them? I mean do you love him? - He's one of my best friends and all I know is that he needs me and I'll be there. Riley didn't answer him openly but she must have suspected something. The conversation ended like this, the two young women had separated just before Matty reopened the war room and left his phone, only she was inside. She had knocked on the door and Matty had let her in, Desi had decided to close the door, she knew that Riley was going to do everything she could to find out what was going to be said in the war room, she was certain of it. Riley had always thought she was strange anyway, she had never actually joined the team even when it came to post-mission appointments just to blow off steam. - I thought you were with him? - No, he made me understand that it wasn't the right time and that he had other things to do at the moment. Which is probably the case. Riley had arranged to stick around, his cell phone was connected to the war room. Matty, who had noticed this, decided to turn on the security, thus cutting off the transmission between the war room and the young hacker's cell phone. The young woman noticed that her colleague had just stepped out and was talking to herself as she left the room. - She is the head of Phoenix and not even able to do anything for me. The young woman swore as she smiled and walked towards the manager, she in turn had just walked into the war room with her cell phone in one of her jeans pockets. - It's not very nice to spy, you know? - I don't know what you're talking about Matty? They both started laughing even though the situation didn't require it. - Am I listening? Did you make it? - Yes, I have to say that my text message hastened things, he didn't hesitate to come here when he really has no right to. - I know, he did it for the blond kid and that's what counts! - What wouldn't we do for him ! He talked to me about some things I passed on to you, do you still agree ? - Certainly, I am, Mac is like my son and you are my family and no one can take him away from me. - We know that Matty. - But why are you doing this? The young woman had blushed in Matty's presence. She had understood that, and that's as far as it went. Tiberus Kovac might still be alive, but he was going to give Jack a few hours break, it was only 24 hours, but it was enough time to be with Mac and his family. - That's why I wanted to ask you a small favor. - I am listening to you ! - He wants to see us this evening in the hotel room that you found for him so that we can put him in the picture of certain things and we wondered with Bozer if we could go back home to rest a little. - No worries, you keep me informed? - Certainly, thanks a lot Matty. - Before you go home, I think you should already know, Desi won't be able to attend Mac's father's funeral. - I wasn't quite aware of that, but I'm not surprised about her. Matty watched her walk down the hallway again to pick up his best friend. - What wouldn't we do for the one we love, right Riley? Matty murmured as he watched her walk away. This time the young woman decided to take the stairs, the laboratory was just below the war room. She was surprised to see that Bozer was taking Desi in his arms to calm her down. She pretended to sneeze to let them both know that she was there. - Oh Riley, so it's okay then?
- Yes, she accepted, I'm going to rest a little bit and we'll meet in front of your place? Around 7:30? Is that okay? - No worries, that gives me time to fix the damn robot. Right next to him was Sparky who refused to turn on and he couldn't understand why. His keys were in the pocket of his favorite jacket. From Phoenix to Mac's, it was pretty fast and there wasn't much traffic at that time of day. The sun was quite high in the sky and she could at least rest a little even if she was confronted with Mac's presence in the area. Everything seemed pretty dark as it was only early afternoon, when she came home she noticed a shape that seemed to be sleeping on the couch, it was Mac. She put down the fleece blanket that he had given her last Christmas and that was staying on the couch, it allowed Riley to stay late at night if she wanted to play the console, he sighed comfortably just after she passed by. She looked at her cell phone, Riley had a little time before she found Bozer and joined Jack at the hotel room outside of Los Angeles. Mac had woken up when he heard the shower running in the second bathroom, he assumed it was Riley who was supposed to be there, he shook his head at the thought. It wasn't a good time to think about it, he had to put his feelings aside for the next few days. Tomorrow he was going to bury his father, Desi had told him that she couldn't join him for this hard enough time, it hadn't surprised him that much, in fact the two of them seemed to be drifting apart right now. About twenty minutes later, she was finally out of the bathroom and almost ready to go and rest for a while. The young woman had gone into the living room and noticed that he was sitting down, but that it wasn't going too well. - Riles, are you home? - Yes, I'm home. - What's going on, is everything okay? - Yeah, don't worry, I just came home to rest, I needed a break. - I don't blame you, I'll let you rest. - Do you want anything? Are you hungry? - At the moment I'm fine, are you going to go out? She seemed to avoid his gaze, it was kind of a surprise without being a surprise, the young woman knew that he needed this so much to get back on his feet a little. - I'm sorry, it's none of my business. - Just before I go to rest and then do a little errand but when I get back, we could watch something on Netflix and eat a pizza or something like that. - No worries. He lay back on the couch and closed his eyes, life was cruel at times and Riley knew that, he didn't deserve it.
