Pokemon Horizons Episode 101 Review - Battle Of The Gimmicks

I’ve always praised Pokemon Horizons for the battle animations, but this episode was appalling in terms of quality and execution. Like, come on, Horizons, you can do better than this! Horizons, you’ve been doing great with battles in previous episodes, so why are you like this now? I may be the biggest Horizons glazer, as I have been writing reviews for 101 episodes, but I can’t defend this.

The battle was so choppy as it was just Pawmot and Lucario spamming Mach Punch and Close Combat. Nemona’s second Pokemon is revealed to be Ribombee, and all it does is spam Pollen Puff. Like, the bee was right there! If you wanted to give Roy a win, why not choose to attack Ribombee? Like, it’s a smarter strategy to knock out the healer so that Roy could get a respectful victory and Nemona getting a respectful loss. And there’s Crocalor who was just there providing Lucario backup. The only thing I liked about this battle was seeing the gimmicks be used. Other than that, this is probably my least favorite fight of the anime by far.

To be honest, I was more interested in the other parts of the episode that didn’t revolve around the battle. It was nice seeing Murdock allowing Roy to pilot the airship, showing that the adults are letting the kids take charge. It was nice seeing Naranja Academy again! I like that Exceed’s propaganda towards the Rising Volt Tacklers isn’t affecting the school as they know they saved the school. It makes sense that they’d have a lot of trust in the Rising Volt Tacklers over Exceed and the Explorers. Just seeing the kids have a meeting with Clavell and Geeta and even presenting videos to them makes them feel so grown up now… It was also nice seeing Jacq again! I feel like he’s an underrated character. Now that he’s going to help the kids with finding a connection between Pokemon and Laquium, I do wonder what sort of discoveries they will make. By the way, if you were wondering why Roy’s Kilowattrel didn’t show up in this episode, it’s because they wanted to give importance to Jacq who shares the same voice actor as the bird.

It was also nice to see Penny again! I feel like she has become more unhinged after the time skip with her desire for carnage and the fact that she wants to battle, surprising Nemona of all people. Still, I’m surprised she’s using Flareon alongside her ace Sylveon. Not that Flareon is a bad choice, but it’s clearly not a popular Eeveelution. Still, it’s nice to see it get some love.

My favorite part of the episode was seeing Uruto running away from Nemona, Dendra and their Pokemon. It reminded me of that “Why are you running” meme. Now that the kids are planning to check out the Laquium signs in the Paldea region thanks to Penny marking them, it makes me wonder what’s next in store for them. Also, the fact that Zirc and Onia appeared at the end of the episode means only one thing: Amethio is going to show up either next episode or in a few weeks. I can feel it… What are your thoughts on this episode?

16 : assister au bal

Guillaume et Aliénor dansent la volte ensemble au bal avant de profiter de leur soirée ensemble...

S'ils sont tous les deux allés à Garreg Mach, ce n'est sûrement pas leur bal de fin d'année. Ils sont allés à l'académie à quand ils étaient très jeunes, ils avaient quatorze ans (quinze à l'époque du bal), Guillaume parce qu'il était plus en sécurité là-bas en attendant qu'il soit assez âgé pour bouter son tuteur imposé par le roi Clovis le Sanglant et échapper aux assassins rêvant de ramener sa tête au tyran pour gagner ses faveurs (pour ceux qui ne le connaissent pas, tout est dans son nom, c'est le pire souverain qu'on pourrait imaginer qui aura bien mérité de se faire renverser par son fils et coupé la tête après un procès pour tout ses crimes, qui compte entre autre les tentatives d'élimination des Fraldarius afin de se débarrasser d'une famille rivale et de récupérer leurs terres fertiles, une ouverture sur la mer du côté de l'Alliance, et le lac miraculeux qui borde leur capitale [c'est pas le premier souverain à le faire mais, c'est le premier à autant l'assumer et il aurait réussi si les habitants d'Egua n'avait pas protégé Guillaume à la mort de ses parents]), puis accessoirement apprendre à connaitre sa nouvelle fiancée, et Aliénor devait déjà y aller assez tôt vu qu'elle est très douée mais, du côté de ses parents, c'était surtout pour qu'elle apprenne à connaitre son nouveau fiancé, ce qu'ils prennent tous les deux extrêmement mal.

En effet, leur mariage a été arrangé par ses parents pour Aliénor alors qu'elle avait bien d'autres ambitions, elle voulait devenir mage et érudite, et par Clovis pour Guillaume, qui pense tout de suite à un nouveau piège de sa part pour tenter de le tuer, et se méfie évidemment de tout ce qui vient de la part de l'assassin de ses parents et de toute sa famille. Sa première pensée quand il tente de s'imaginer sa fiancée, c'est une femme mûre qui le tuera à la première occasion. Autant vous dire que quand ils se rencontrent pour la première fois à Garreg Mach, ça se passe très mal et c'est peu de le dire, surtout qu'au départ, quand ils ne se connaissent pas, ils ont l'impression que leurs personnalités ne vont pas ensemble.

Guillaume est grognon, têtu comme une mule, ne fait confiance à personne, jure comme un charretier et envoie chier toute personne qu'il considère comme indigne de respect. Bref, il a tout pour plaire et n'a rien d'un noble à première vue (les lions du sud du Royaume adorent persiffler en disant que Nicola, son meilleur ami qu'il considère comme son frère vu qu'ils ont été élevés ensemble, fait plus noble que lui alors qu'il est roturier), même s'il est ��galement quelqu'un de fiable, déterminé, ayant à coeur de suivre le devoir familiale et seigneurial sans être prétentieux à ce sujet comme un Lorenz, ça coule juste de source pour lui de servir son peuple, pas la peine de fanfaronner à ce sujet pour juste faire son boulot, qui protègera toujours les siens et les plus faibles, gentil quand il peut se le permettre, profite bien du fait de sa position pour appeler un pourri un pourri sans trop risquer de conséquence (ils veulent déjà tous sa peau de toute façon) et qui a généralement raison quand il traite quelqu'un de chien errant, il se trompe rarement en la matière.

De son côté, Aliénor a un caractère moins mauvais, même s'il est tout aussi entier : elle est très studieuse, assidue à ses études, rigoureuse, tout en étant très attaché à son honneur et sa réputation, et elle ne pardonne pas ceux qui ont bafoué le leur pour de mauvaises raisons (elle n'a par exemple aucune considération pour les Galatéa qui n'ont gagné leur noblesse dans le Royaume après avoir fui l'Alliance après que leur fondatrice ait assassiné sa propre soeur car elle était devenue comtesse à sa place, qu'en devenant les chiens des rois en faisant toutes les basses besognes pour eux alors, tout le monde dans le Royaume les méprise et il est déshonorant d'avoir quelques affaires que ce soit avec eux), même si contrairement à Guillaume, elle manifestera plus son mépris en refusant de parler à quelqu'un ainsi plutôt que de l'envoyer sur les roses à la première occasion en lui rappelant bien pourquoi tout le monde le méprise. Elle est cependant tout aussi attaché que lui à son devoir en tant que seigneuresse, très intelligente et perspicace, déterminée et protectrice envers les plus faibles tout en ayant un solide sens de la justice.

Le seul qu'elle envoie vraiment sur les roses, c'est Guillaume. Et idem pour lui, une des seuls personnes qu'il juge mal, c'est Aliénor.

Elle trouve qu'il n'a pas le comportement approprié pour un noble et trouve que ce n'est qu'un loup enragé mordant tout ce qui l'entoure et comme ils sont forcés de se fréquenter à cause de leurs fiançailles arrangées, il l'énerve encore plus et la seule liberté qu'elle a dans le fond, c'est de le rejeter en bloc. Elle aurait préféré que son fiancé ait un comportement plus respectable et honorable comme le héros d'un roman de chevalerie, elle ne veut pas épouser un loup enragé qui marche sur deux pattes (rappel, elle a quatorze ans, c'est normal qu'elle s'imagine le prince idéal). Elle le rejette tellement qu'au début, après qu'elle l'ait entendu chanter sans le voir, elle refuse de croire Nicola quand il lui dit que c'est Guillaume alors que ce serait la réponse la plus logique (elle l'a entendu alors qu'ils étaient tous les deux dans leur dortoir respectifs et ils sont voisins), et préfère croire que la voix d'or qu'elle a entendu appartient à un beau barde tout droit sorti d'une chanson de geste car, elle ne peut juste pas imaginer son fiancé qu'elle voie comme un loup enragé chanter aussi bien avec un texte aussi sensible.

Et Guillaume n'est pas mieux sur ce point, il la trouve ennuyeuse, trop enfoncé dans ses livres, manquant de jugement au sujet de leurs camarades du sud (même si Nicola, qui est entre les deux et arrive à avoir plus de recul sur la situation [car c'est pas lui qui va devoir se marier avec quelqu'un qu'il ne connait pas, et il est plus calme que Guillaume de manière général], lui rappelle bien qu'elle ne peut pas connaitre les jeux de pouvoir entre grands nobles et ne connait surement pas les vrais actes des seigneurs comme Rowe et consort en-dehors de leur réputation), et grinçante, tout en cherchant toujours le piège de sa présence, et de toute façon, il n'a pas envie de s'attacher à elle vu que c'est surement la créature de Clovis alors, hors de question de s'attacher ou pire, de tomber amoureux de son piège ! En plus, toutes les personnes proches de lui risquent de finir en dommage collatéral quand les chiens errants de Clovis viennent tenter de le tuer alors, moins les gens l'approchent, mieux ce sera pour eux. Limite, il la plaint plus qu'autre chose d'être sa fiancée, elle a maintenant une énorme cible peinte en gros et en rouge sur son front, encore plus quand ils seront mariés officiellement pour couper toute possibilité de survie à sa lignée.

Ils sont assez immatures l'un envers l'autre au départ et c'est normal, ils ont quatorze ans, c'est des ados qui devraient entrer en 3e et préparer le brevet des collèges qui se retrouvent dans une situation qu'ils n'ont pas choisi, qui ne sont clairement pas au moment de leur vie où ils voulaient penser au mariage (encore plus quand on leur dit qu'il faudra vite faire des gosses vu que bon, Guillaume est le dernier Fraldarius encore en vie et c'est rare qu'ils atteignent leur trente ans vu qu'ils se font tout le temps tuer en service, car les rois les utilisent comme bouclier en viande dès qu'ils peuvent alors, faut pas trainer hein. Avec un peu de chance, les gosses auront moins la vie chevillée au corps que leur père), avec un bagage très lourd de son côté pour Guillaume qui ne sait juste pas faire confiance aux gens, et Aliénor vient de voir son rêve de devenir une grande magicienne et une érudite partir en fumée pour juste devenir une épouse pour un grand noble, évidemment qu'ils vont se rejeter l'un l'autre en bloc, surtout que c'est un peu les seuls choses qu'ils peuvent faire pour garder un minimum la main sur leurs choix : on les oblige à se fiancer et donc à s'aimer, mais ils auront toujours le choix de se détester.

C'est vraiment pendant l'année qu'ils vont apprendre petit à petit à se connaitre qu'ils vont finir par s'apprécier mutuellement, en découvrant notamment les qualités de l'autre là où ils ne voyait que les défauts au début. Oui, Guillaume est un grognon qui mord tout le monde mais, il ne vise que des gens qui ont mérité ses critiques et dit surtout tout haut tout ce que ces personnes tentent de planquer sous le tapis pour se donner un air respectable, et il ne laissera jamais tomber personne et aidera toujours les gens en cas de besoin. D'accord, Aliénor a un peu trainer avec les seigneurs du sud en début d'année mais, une fois qu'elle sait ce qu'ils ont fait, qu'elle en est sûre et que tout est confirmé, elle est tout aussi intransigeante envers eux qu'elle ne l'était envers Guillaume au début, voir même plus vu qu'ils ne font pas leurs devoirs seigneuriaux, et sa grande intelligence lui permet de résoudre des problèmes complexes afin d'aider les autres aussi. De plus, leurs capacités et connaissances se complètes très bien, ils font vraiment une bonne équipe ensemble et développe un vrai respect mutuel l'un pour l'autre. Pas au point de danser au bal ensemble, encore moins une volte qui est quand même assez intime comme danse mais, ils arrivent à s'entendre.

A la fin de l'année, ils sont vraiment devenus amis et au moins alliés, avec les deux qui veulent s'entraider à atteindre leur objectif : récupérer son fief et le remettre à neuf en le tirant des griffes de Clovis au passage pour Guillaume, devenir une érudite afin de pouvoir aider le plus grand nombre pour Aliénor. ça tombe bien, les deux se peuvent se rejoindre. Il leur faudra beaucoup de temps pour leur amitié finisse par se transformer petit à petit en véritable amour et qu'ils deviennent un couple une fois adulte. Honnêtement, je ne pense pas qu'ils développent de sentiments l'un envers l'autre avant leur vingtaine. C'est un mariage blanc pendant des années (ils ne dorment même pas dans la même chambre pendant longtemps) et c'est petit à petit qu'ils finissent par tomber amoureux, ça prend du temps, petit pas par petit pas, surtout vu comment leur histoire a commencé mais, ils finiront par être un des couples les plus unis de Fodlan et qui feront de grandes choses ensemble (entre autre : sauver le petit prince Ludovic des griffes de son père, prendre soin de lui, puis l'aider à faire tomber Clovis de son trône pour chasser le tyran, puis ils seront toujours à ses côtés tout le long de son règne), tout en étant d'excellents parents pour leurs jumeaux Rodrigue et Alix, même si Guillaume mourra en protégeant Ludovic quand ils auront six ans et Aliénor devra se battre de toutes ses forces pour protéger ses fils et son fief des ambitieux pendant une régence qui confirmera et signera qu'elle est une grande femme d'Etat.

Mais pour l'instant, les deux sont bien vivants et ils profitent d'un bal ensemble maintenant que la paix est revenue dans le Royaume.

Petits points de conception habituel :

pour la danse de Guillaume et Aliénor, il s'agit de la volte. Comme lors de la cinématique du bal, les élèves dansent surtout la valse qui s'est surtout répandu à la fin du XVIIIe siècle après la Révolution (en France tout du moins), j'ai voulu leur faire faire une danse plus ancienne pour marquer la différence de génération, soit la volte qui était une danse très populaire au XVIe siècle (mon tableau de référence pour le placement des deux date d'ailleurs de la fin de ce siècle). Comme son nom l'indique, le cavalier fait virevolter sa cavalière dans les airs avec un porté où il la tient par la taille. J'avais vu des vidéos où les gens dansaient la valse en prenant la partenaire par la taille et où madame saute en prenant appui sur son épaule, mais avec les tableaux, on dirait qu'ils les soulèvent en les prenant par l'entrejambe en attrapant le corset de la femme pour la soulever sans trop qu'on voie ce que fait sa main gauche, ce qui ne collerait pas trop avec Aliénor qui ne porte pas de corset (car ces trucs sont l'enfer incarné qui vous empêche de bouger et de respirer [d'où le fait que ces dames gardaient des sels sur elles, c'était pas si rare qu'elles s'évanouissent pour cause de corset trop serré] alors, laisse tomber, elle n'en mettra jamais de sa vie, c'est une femme très active qui a besoin de bouger) et ça doit faire quand même assez mal d'être porté par là alors, j'ai fait à ma sauce avec Guillaume qui la porte en la prenant sous les jambes pendant qu'elle saute, et où ils se tiennent tous les deux la main sur sa hanche. Je voulais surtout qu'ils soient proches et amoureux ensemble, tout en montrant par leur manière de danser qu'ils sont à très à l'aise l'un avec l'autre (jamais au début de leur relation ou même à la fin de Garreg Mach ils n'auraient pu danser comme ça ensemble). Si ce n'est pas de la volte, il la fait au moins virevolter et ils s'amusent bien ensemble, c'est le principal !

Pour les costumes, je me suis basés sur cette photo du compte instagram du docteur_danic (il fait du super boulot et j'adore ses photos alors, foncer tout de suite voir ce qu'il fait !), toujours pour bien marqué la différence d'époque, et vu qu'Aliénor vient d'une famille très pratiquante, elle est elle-même très religieuse (même si pas question de gober ce que raconte la secte occidentale, elle a lu les Saintes Ecritures dans la traduction officielle de Garreg Mach et la version originale, et on débat souvent de différents points en les remettant en question dans sa famille, ils ont beaucoup de recul critique et refusent de brandir la religion qui dit en gros "tu ne tuera point et ne sera pas un monstre avec les autres" pour démolir la vie des autres avec un prétexte tout trouvé en bois) avec quand même des habitudes parfois un peu ancienne, elle a toujours couvert ses cheveux. Un des seuls qui pouvaient les voir détachés, c'était Guillaume (et l'inverse est vrai aussi étant donné qu'à leur époque, c'était encore assez mal vue d'apparaitre en public les cheveux détachés quand on les avait longs, autant pour les hommes que pour les femmes alors, Guillaume ne défaisait jamais sa tresse à part quand il était seul ou avec Aliénor). En plus, cette robe bleue est juste magnifique et avec les couches sur les manches, je trouvais que ça faisait vraiment robe de bal avec des motifs (voir leurs références sur ce billet).

Pour Guillaume, il porte une grande cape pour faire référence à Rodrigue. Il porte une cape car son père en avait toujours une bien chaude où il pouvait se réfugier avec son frère, Guillaume les prenant souvent à l'intérieur et quand ils étaient petits, quand ses fils étaient devant lui, il les couvrait avec les pans de sa cape pour les protéger du froid et qu'ils restent près de lui. La boucle de la référence est donc bouclé on va dire ^^ Pour ses motifs à lui, ils sont plus fantaisistes mais, c'est de l'eau avec son emblème vu que sa famille est extrêmement important, mais aussi l'emblème de Dominic pour rappeler la famille d'Aliénor. Elle n'a pas d'emblème elle-même mais, sa famille, les Dominic-Villeneuve, est une branche très mineure des Dominic, c'est une toute petite famille qui a sa ville et qui a dû trouver autre chose pour s'enrichir mais, leur blason représente toujours l'emblème de leur ancêtre. Aliénor a complètement épousé les intérêts des Fraldarius à ce moment-là mais, porter son emblème est une manière à lui pour dire qu'ils sont unis ensemble. La fleur entre chaque emblème sur l'ourlet du bas est inspiré du même pyxide que pour les fleurs d'Aliénor.

Enfin, la broche qu'ils portent est un bouclier coupé en deux et frappé de l'emblème des Fraldarius, afin de représenter qu'ils se complètent et protègent leur famille ensemble, surtout maintenant qu'ils ont leurs petits louveteaux pour qui ils feraient tout pour les protéger.

Ich bin ein Lötgott (vorübergehend)

Die erfolglos geöffnete Zahnbürste liegt schon neben dem defekten Router der Mutter und wartet auf ihren Abtransport zum Wertstoffhof. Ich nehme sie noch mal in die Hand und überlege, dass sie ja schon kaputt ist und nicht noch kaputter werden kann durch meine nichtvorhandenen Lötkünste. Später am Tag, ich habe wegen der Hitze sehr viel Eiskaffee getrunken, erfasst mich Tatendrang, ich suche im Keller die abgebröselte winzige SMD-Komponente und finde sie. Sie ist nur zwei Quadratmillimeter groß. Auch mit der großen Lupe der Mutter kann ich nicht erkennen, ob sie vielleicht mit einem hilfreichen Hinweis zur Einbaurichtung beschriftet ist.

Ich nehme aus meinem billig aussehenden, aber wirklich viele Teile enthaltenden geschenkten Löt-Set eine ganz dünne Lötspitze und eine krumme Pinzette.

Ich weiß nicht, wie Löten geht, ich habe kurz versucht, ein YouTube-Video zum Thema zu sehen, aber nach mehreren Minuten Einleitungs-Skippen war der Lötkolben des Erklärhorsts immer noch kalt und ich habe es wieder aufgegeben. Ich erinnere mich, dass man unbedingt nur die eine Seite heiß machen soll und nicht die andere, oder irgendwas zuerst, oder so.

Ich mache so lange alles gleichzeitig heiß, bis das winzige Ding wieder auf der Platine pappt.

Die Zahnbürste geht nicht.

Ich löte auf gut Glück auf einer Stelle herum, die ich beim letzten Mal nur deshalb ent-lötet habe, weil in der iFixit-Anleitung (für eine ähnliche Zahnbürste) von drei zu lösenden Stellen die Rede war. Diese dritte Stelle ist aber gar nicht erkennbar mit der Batterie verbunden, vielleicht wird sie also doch für irgendwas anderes benötigt.

Die Zahnbürste geht immer noch nicht.

Ich löte den Krümel wieder ab, um ihn andersrum dranzulöten, lasse ihn aber fallen, und da die unlesbare Aufschrift jetzt geschmolzen ist, weiß ich nicht mehr, in welcher Richtung ich es schon versucht habe. Ich löte ihn irgendwie wieder fest.

Die Zahnbürste geht weiterhin nicht.

Ich löte den Baustein ab, halte ihn diesmal mit der Pinzette ganz fest, drehe die Zahnbürste unter ihm herum und löte ihn wieder an.

Jetzt geht die Zahnbürste wieder. Ich bin ein Lötgott!

Das ursprüngliche Akkuproblem ist noch unbehoben, aber durch den Hinweis von Dokape zu meinem letzten Beitrag weiß ich mittlerweile, wie es gehen müsste. Fünf Minuten später halte ich den Akku in der Hand.

Irgendeiner (zum Aufschreibezeitpunkt nicht mehr wiederfindbaren) Anleitung habe ich entnommen, dass man auch ein altes Netzteil mit ungefähr passender Volt-Angabe statt einem Akku an die Akku-Anschlüsse auf der Platine löten kann. Dann hat man eine elektrische Zahnbürste mit Kabel und kann sich beim Zähneputzen nicht weit von einer Steckdose entfernen, wird aber auch nie mehr einen leeren Akku haben. Ich finde das halbwegs passende Netzteil eines Handys aus der Prä-Smartphone-Zeit, schneide das Kabel am Stecker ab und entferne die Isolierung von den Enden. Mit einem handbetriebenen Holzbohrer bohre ich vorsichtig ein zusätzliches Loch für das Kabel im Inneren des Plastikgehäuses und weniger vorsichtig ein zusätzliches Loch in meinen Fuß. Der Netzteilbeschriftung kann ich nicht entnehmen, welches Kabel zu welchem Pol gehört. Sie sagt nur, welcher Pol am Stecker innen ist und welcher außen, aber der Stecker ist schon abgeschnitten und verrät nicht, welche Kabelfarbe zu Innen und welche zu Außen gehört. Ich löte die Kabelenden zuerst so rum und dann andersrum auf die Platine. Keine der beiden Varianten funktioniert.

Ich gebe auf und bestelle bei Ebay einen neuen Akku. Er hat doppelt so viele mAh wie der alte.

Eine Woche später ist der neue Akku da. Ich löte ihn ein, aber die Zahnbürste bleibt tot. Wahrscheinlich habe ich bei dem Netzteilexperiment irgendwas Unsichtbares irreparabel zerstört und muss jetzt entweder warten, bis mir noch mehr Superkräfte wachsen, oder halt doch die gleiche Zahnbürste noch mal kaufen. Einen Ersatzakku habe ich ja jetzt.

And Now‚ An Interlude

…Also known as: I just finished playing through the Sky Peak arc and Oh My God, the chapter is going to be such a mountain (har har) of labor to pull together that I’m tossing out some crumbs in the meantime 😅

This may or may not be something I do going forward. It really depends on 1) how long it’ll take me to play through the game and do all the prep work‚ and 2) if I have anything interesting or noteworthy happen on the days that are non-plot related and purely explorations or job requests. If I do make more of these‚ they won’t be linked in my pinned post because it’s not really important enough for that. Think of it as little tidbits of treasure left for you to find!

Another reason I decided to whip this up: I needed more storage space before climbing Sky Peak and I was kind of close to leveling up in team rank from Gold to Diamond? So I knocked out four days of missions to make that happen. (Theoretically it might have taken only three‚ but I fell 20 points short on the third day 🤡)

Now‚ with that little disclaimer out of the way…

We recruited the God of Time.

…Okay‚ not really LOL. Just one of his species. But honestly‚ for a level 12, he was not that bad at all:

His abilities were Frisk and Rough Skin‚ the latter inflicting 1/2 the damage dealt by physical attacks. Which partially explains this heartstopping dynamic during the final battle of main. (But I still have no idea why Seed Flare‚ a special move‚ made Teresa get the counter.)

Now‚ I don’t recall exactly if I picked this up in a dungeon or if it was a reward for a job‚ but one way or another I got my hands on Volt Tackle‚ and boy when I say it was tempting—

That’s eight stars of power‚ y’all. And both of our gals could learn the move.

But… well‚ the more I thought about it‚ the more I wasn’t certain it made sense. As a refresher‚ here are Andrea and Teresa’s current moves:

Andrea: Blizzard‚ Smokescreen‚ Octazooka‚ Mach Punch

Teresa: Mud Slap‚ Dizzy Punch‚ Chatter‚ Seed Flare

Let’s break that down:

Blizzard and Octazooka are both decently strong to begin with and benefit from STAB. Blizzard has a 3+ boost in power from Ginseng. And‚ as we know‚ it’s been a godsend for the absurd amount of monster houses in these dungeons.

Mach Punch (functionally the same as Quick Attack) has been too dang useful with the two tile range. You saw what happened the one time I tried to go without one. Maybe it’s a different story now that we’re a lot stronger‚ but…

Similarly‚ Smokescreen and the Whiffer status is way too OP‚ and a key part of more than a few victories in boss fights.

Dizzy Punch and Chatter also have STAB and both have the chance to confuse‚ which again can make or break survival in certain situations.

Mud Slap... Okay yeah this is a weak move‚ but the drop in accuracy with successive hits can really make a difference. This also has a 3+ Ginseng power boost‚ so it’s not like it’s infeasible. Plus I don’t want to throw those ginseng boosts away if I delete the move.

Which leaves us with… Seed Flare:

Same amount of power as Volt Tackle‚ only one star lower in accuracy‚ and no recoil. And sure‚ both Andrea and Teresa have the Rapid Healer IQ skill‚ but I’ve had too many close calls with unexpectedly hard hitting moves for me to be comfortable with recoil damage.

So‚ regretfully… into Blastoise Storage the TM went. Maybe another day.

Just casually throwing in one of the Seven Treasures as a reward for an Outlaw Job. (I already have this one so I didn’t take it.)

Also‚ who’s Magnezone?? Our cop is Spinarak‚ duh!

It has been locked in a magnetic scabbard that can only be unlocked with MTF Commander Kite's bio signature. Should anyone else try to open it they are shocked with 1000 volts. SCP-ABV-2 has been given to Agent Victoria of Mobile Task Force Tau-5 "Samsara" as she works better with handheld melee and firearm weapons rather than weapons being augmented to her body like with the other MTF Tau-5 units. Like SCP-ABV-1, SCP-ABV-2 is locked in a magnetic scabbard that can only be unlocked with her bio signature. Should anyone else try to get SCP-ABV-2, they will be hit with a sonic blast from a hidden device in the scabbard, ripping the flesh off their hands. Captain Irantu of MTF Tau-5 is the only one who can override this.

SCP-ABV-3 was given to the recently promoted MTF Captain William Miles of Mobile Task Force Athena-1 "Assassin's Creed". Like the other instances it is protected by a magnetic scabbard that can only be unlocked with his biosignature. Should someone try to steal it, they will be stabbed microscopic needles, hidden all over the scabbard, each one coated with paralysis venom. 

SCP-ABV-4 is contained at the Level 4 armory of Site-AP. Any further information has been expunged by Order of the O5 Council.  

SCP-ABV-5 has been given to Agent "Cain" of Mobile Task Force Alpha-9 "Last Hope". It was given as a sign of respect for his loyalty but also to fulfill a request he made some time ago, due to him taking no joy in solely relying on his anomalous abilities during combat. Thanks to the Department of Technology, Alchemy, Science, Magic and Warfare, the scabbard holding SCP-ABV-5 can levitate, obey the commands of Agent Cain, and keep SCP-ABV-5 out of enemy hands. It is also magnetically locked but by his request will only open on his voice command and has no defensive technology beyond that, especially not traps.

SCP-ABV-6 is contained at the Level 4 armory of Site-AP. Any further information has been expunged by Order of the O5 Council.

SCP-ABV-2 is another instance that can grant teleportation, this time limited to any location that is within eyesight of the user. The speed of the user can also be increased to Mach 1, without physically harming the user. All of these properties would make the wielder an unstoppable warrior if SCP-ABV-2 wasn't possessed by the memories of Genghis Khan.

Typical of ISU tech, SCP-ABV-2 carries the memories of past wielders, but Genghis Khan being the most recent and longest lasting wielder has his will implanted into the blade. Anyone who tries to wield SCP-ABV-2 will instantly be overtaken by him. It is for this reason it was entrusted to Agent Victoria due to her ability to resist such anomalous properties after her surgery that made her a member of MTF Tau-5. SCP-ABV-2 was discovered in 2009 when the Mongolian branch of the Foundation recovered using the Assassin's Creed archives. 

SCP-ABV-3, also known as Sword of Perseus, is a peculiar instance in that it doesn't grant its wielder an increase in charisma or intimidation. Instead, SCP-ABV-3 has the ability to absorb any form of energy and release it in any way or form the user desires. Like a battery the more energy it holds the more power and possibilities it grants the wielder. Most shockingly SCP-ABV-3 has the ability to grant a certain degree of control over the anomalous properties of artifacts created by Species of Interest: The ISU.

This powerful ability is why SCP-ABV-3 was entrusted to MTF Captain William Miles after his promotion. He was promoted to Captain after he alerted Foundation staff of the "Second Disaster" just in time for MTF Apollo-1 to cast magnetic shields all over earth and other Foundation owned planets, preventing loss of life. now with SCP-ABV-3 he can not only fight against GoI: Abstergo Industries but also against Entity of Interest: Juno as Abstergo Industries is currently trying to find a way to resurrect her. SCP-ABV-3 was discovered in 2012 in the same vault Juno was found in, though it was found purely out of coincidence.

SCP-ABV-4, also known as Harpe of Perseus, is one of the strongest instances of SCP-ABV. SCP-ABV-4 is able to manipulate all forms of energy without limitation. Such capabilities include projecting energy blasts in any direction with any amount of power, creating energy bombs and traps, manifesting energy objects and weapons, as well as manifesting energy fields of 2 to 40 meters in diameter. It can also produce its own energy and manipulate it for up to an hour before needing to recharge, typically taking 10 minutes. All of this makes anyone who wields SCP-ABV-4, a complete master of all forms of energy.

However, what makes SCP-ABV-4 truly dangerous is how it is fully able to manipulate Golem Stone. Golem Stone is a type of programable material created by Species of Interest: the ISU to be similar in texture to stone but is able to change shape on command. With SCP-ABV-4 the wielder would have full control over Golem Stone, making it take on any form and perform any task they wanted. Weather to create and command levitating weapons, turn into furniture or a fully customized house, or even an army of self-repairing golems that obey the wielder of SCP-ABV-4's every command, nothing would be off the table. Currently, the Foundation is in possession of [data expunged] kilograms of Golem Stone but has no way to utilize it without SCP-ABV-4. Despite this, SCP-ABV-4 was considered too dangerous and is stored in Site-AP with most of its containment information being erased. SCP-ABV-4 was discovered in 2018 during one of the Foundation's raids into an ISU. SCP-ABV-4 as well as the rest of the vault was shockingly revealed to be in the possession of [data expunged] before she died during the [data expunged] ambush. 

SCP-ABV-5, also known as The Excalibur, is actually one of the weaker instances of SCP-ABV despite its name. Yes SCP-ABV-5 can still cut through almost anything, but its unique property is to manipulate all forms of light in any way the wielder desires. Unfortunately, this is all SCP-ABV-5 is capable of making it unremarkable compared to the other SCP-ABV instances. SCP-ABV-5 was discovered in [data expunged]. SCP-ABV-5 was considered a perfect match for Agent "Cain" due to its limited capabilities going well with his distaste for overwhelming power. 

SCP-ABV-6, also known as the Sword of Damokles, is possibly the most powerful instance of them all. Like SCP-ABV-4, SCP-ABV-6 can create and manipulate all forms of energy at will of the wielder with seemingly no limitations. However, SCP-ABV-6 takes it a step further as it can use the energy to increase the strength, speed, size, healing capabilities, durability, and athleticism of the wielder. SCP-ABV-6 also instills an almost terrifying degree of loyalty to those who are around the wielder of SCP-ABV-6, making them willing to do anything the wielder desire. 

It is for this reason that SCP-ABV-6 was stored at Site-AP and its containment information is erased with very few knowing of its exact location. SCP-ABV-6 was discovered in 2018 at the same location and during the same incident SCP-ABV-4 was discovered. SCP-ABV instances are a good example as to why Abstergo Industries is a dangerous adversary of the Foundation and humanity. Had they gotten to SCP-ABV first, there would be nothing to stop them from controlling the entire world.

Ich mache gerade meinen Führerschein. Dabei lerne ich nicht nur, dass Kinder, Senioren und andere Verkehrsteilnehmer grundsätzlich hochgradig unzurechnungsfähig sind oder wie man Nachbar‘s Porsche zerstört, sondern muss auch einen Erste-Hilfe-kurs absolvieren Das klingt erst einmal sehr nützlich. Ist es auch, wenn man bedenkt, dass unterlassene Hilfeleistung mit 356 Tagen Freiheitsentzug oder noch schlimmer: Einer Geldstrafe von bis zu 600€ bestraft werden kann. Deshalb: Besser beatmen lernen.

Und so sitze ich an einem verregneten Samstagvormittag mit Paula, ihres Zeichens Medizinstudentin und seit 22 Jahren gestandene Sanitäterin in einem miefigen Konferenzraum im schönsten Hotel meiner Heimatstadt und versuche mir alles Wissenswerte über Druckverbände einzuprägen.

Die sind im echten Leben sehr unspektakulär. Keine Krämpfe, kein lautes Knallen und kein hektisches Herumgefuchtel mit unförmigen Bügeleisen. Einfach nur entspanntes Elektrodenankleben, das drücken eines Knopfes und schon verpasst du deinem Opfer wahlweise tödliche oder lebensrettende 750 Volt.

Bringt sogar das nichts oder ist die Wirbelsäule gebrochen kann man sich gemütlich zurücklehnen. Solange es keine anderen Verletzten gibt, ist die Arbeit des Ersthelfers hier getan. Verursacht man nämlich bei einem wachen Opfer mit Wirbelsäulenbruch eine Querschnittslähmung, so kann man auf Schadensersatz verklagt werden. Genauso, wenn man ein Messer aus einer offenen Fleischwunde zieht, sich vor dem Blut erschreckt, und es dann schnell wieder etwas tiefer zurücksteckt, woraufhin der Verletzte verstirbt.

Aber genau damit wir diesen Fehler nicht machen sind wir ja hier. Denn schlimmer als der Tod sind nur drei Punkte in Flensburg.
