[after Talbot tells his men to shoot Daisy if she so much as blinks] Coulson: "Is that really necessary?" Talbot: "Necessary? It's essential." Talbot: "Unless you can explain to me in fifty words or less why I found Jeffrey Mace's body washed up on the beach with his bones quaked apart, days after I found this base in flames, flesh melting off of robot bodies, twelve shield agents in critical with burns or broken bones. Three dead. Double hits to the heart and crushed frickin' skulls!" Talbot: "…Can you explain that?"
I think about this scene a lot. Because, like, this is the first time he's truly pissed off at them. They'd vanished off the face of the Earth for days, and he's just running along in the wake of their destruction with no good news whatsoever, and absolutely no communication for him to know what the heck's going on.
He's been mad at them before, sure, but this was a whole different level. He was actually yelling.
Even May had this "oh, shit" look on her face (though that might've just been because of Mace's body being discovered). But yeah. That's not usually the reaction she gets from him. Or whatever that phrase is.
It's fun seeing Talbot's different emotions when he's fucking around with SHIELD lmao.

Phil Coulson / / Jemma Simmons
additional:
“We’d hate to lose you, Jemma.”
“And, frankly, I miss him.”
“You’re likeable. Use that.”
“Someone killed Simmons and Daisy. I watched them die. I don’t want to see that anymore.”

I know Mace isn't really a main team member and he's very unlikely to get voted, but I added him to add variety.

Juliette froze for a moment, hesitant, the argument between her rational mind, her rage, and that sickening feeling in her stomach keeping her from making a choice. She could kill The Patriot and let the building collapse under all of them…

Finally made it in the Framework episodes and the amount of Philinda we got in episode 14 was short but very sweet. I loved it a lot which is funny because how much we got in that episode alone. Here I go, episode 15, I’ll let you know when I’m in ruins or feeling anything that’s out of the ordinary, but really quickly I’m going to complain about episode 14.
I found it incredibly weird how Anton was caressing Adia’s face. It was truly weird to me because I was thrown off by it. That’s all I’m gonna say because that’s the only thing that made me feel some kind of way besides being in awe over the Philinda scenes close to the end of the episode.

how does aos continue to always outdo itself? every season, it gets crazier and crazier. like season one is pretty normal, seems pretty typical of the mcu, the only odd thing is how coulson came back to life, it didn't affect skye, it affected garrett like crazy, and now coulson has hypergraphia. then season two has inhumans, okay, but that's easy enough to work with, to see that's crazy would be like saying the concept of x-men is insane. then season three comes along, and jemma is stuck on another planet, okay. and now ward is dead on that planet, alright. now ward's dead body is being possessed by an immortal inhuman that mind controls other inhumans, okay. season 4, there are ghosts? alright, okay. also ghost rider. and robbie's uncle is breaking physics, okay, using the book of the damned. which changes based on the the viewer and corrupts people. also fitz & radcliffe made a scarily human like android, alright. now aida is making brains out of light after reading the darkhold, okay. robbie is in hell now, alright. radcliffe replaced may with an lmd, okay. mace isn't inhuman, this is fine. crap, everyone was replaced by lmds, this is fine, this is fine. okay, okay, they're all in a virtual prison where hydra took over & fitz & may are #2 and #3 in hydra. also aida is #1 and has fallen in love with fitz and made a real body for herself but she does not take rejection well. coulson is ghost rider, cool, and he kills aida. and now they're all in future in space and have to time travel to stop this from happening. also daisy might be the one to destroy the world, that's fine. oh, deke, he's fitzsimmons' grandson, and he has a crush on daisy. also coulson is dying and talbot has superpowers. now talbot is going to destroy the world, but daisy stops him just in time, cool. now fitz is dead. but wait! there's another fitz floating around in space with enoch, they can find that fitz. coulson is dead. now coulson's doppelganger with no memories is on earth & killing people and demon birds. also he wants to nuke the landing site for izel. okay, jemma found fitz, but now they're in a chronicum mind prison and evil versions of themselves try to kill themselves, but then the evil ones make out in front of the good ones. now fitzsimmons are on a ship with izel, but they just realized she's evil. okay, but they kill her, right? nope, she possessed davis. and may. and diaz. and piper. and deke. and fitz. and pretty much everyone else, notable ones being mack, piper, davis, and elena (she killed davis :( ). oh, also coulson accidentally created a clone of himself when the monoliths blew up and all. that clone is immortal and host of some crazy powerful thing. and it's half way through the second to last season.
and what's great is that you just get used to it. like, i probably forgot so much stuff on this list because they just seem normal now. i mean, i almost forgot to mention tahiti and ghost rider, so that is saying something.

More aos rambles but I find it so interesting that Coulson, despite being the one May and Daisy look to as a man with a good heart when they themselves feel like monsters, is the one who would risk everything including other people to save them. Like if Daisy is in danger and the only option to save her is a plan where every other agent has a 95% chance of dying, he's doing it. And he's very openly hypocritical about it to the point that everyone else calls out his double standards. Mace saying "When it comes to May and Daisy you can't be objective." and Lincoln and May pointing out how he'd sacrifice every inhuman but never Daisy. Like he cares very deeply about Fitz and Simmons but he makes decisions that puts them at risks that I just can't see him doing if it was Daisy. And Coulson very rarely feels bad about it, he stands by his hypocrisy and desire to protect his daughter. Even when it comes to Daisy's own wishes, he cares too much to let her sacrifice herself.
Meanwhile May doesn't love Daisy any less, quite possibly even loves her more by the end of the series, but she also is just more... understanding and respectful of Daisy's autonomy and wishes. Like if Daisy were to die or sacrifice herself May would never recover, would be the last to leave the grave side. But at the same time she wouldn't risk every agent to save her, choosing instead to believe in Daisy's ability to beat the impossible like she's done time and time again. And I don't think she would have knocked Daisy out to drag her home when she was scared of ending the world. She would have stayed with her, and that would likely have been what twisted Daisy's arm to get her home. 'If you're going to be stupidly sacrificial and stay then so am I, because we're too alike. I know how you think and I know that's how to checkmate your self destructive impulses.'
I'm not saying one is morally better than the other, they're both just parents who love their kid and want to protect her. But Coulson, who's viewed by most people as essentially just some suit with a good heart, would order every man he commands to fight a suicide battle if it was the only way to keep Daisy alive. Meanwhile May would be first in line to fight that battle, and she would win! But she would never drag anyone else down. She's as practical and ruthless as Coulson, even more so sometimes. But having been the one to train Daisy, her protection comes in the form of unshakeable belief in the good Daisy is capable of, and a gentle but solid place to rest whenever things don't go as planned. If she thinks Daisy's making a mistake she'll say it to her face, but she's more... open, than Coulson is, to letting Daisy fumble around and find her own way. She'll still be there to beat up anyone that threatens her kid and offer wisdom in the aftermath, but it's less impulsive than Coulson.
Coulson idolizes Captain America as a hero for the same heroic traits he sees in May and Daisy. He believes that they are Special people, and they must go on even if he doesn't. But those very same traits that makes them so special in his eyes are what makes them feel like they have to be the one to jump on the grenade and protect their team, all while Coulson is trying to keep them as far away from the grenade as possible. And they both see a goodness in him and in each other that they don't believe they posses themselves. They're all somewhat correct and also all a little blinded by how much they love each other, but that's just how families are.
