My Thoughts on Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Trailer

ITS HERE. AFTER NUMEROUS RUMOURED RELEASE DATES, THE TRAILER IS FINALLY HERE. GUYS I DREAMT THIS TRAILER LIKE 4 TIMES THESE PAST 6 MONTHS I WAS GOING INSANE. SPOILERS FOR THE TRAILER BELOW!!

THE DETAIL?! I LOVE IT SO MUCH. I JUST KNOW THE SHADOW ESCAPE SCENE IS GOING TO BE FIRE.

Ok so I love how compared to Sonic's soft-looking quills which looks more like fur, Shadow's quills look more spiky and rough. It's so clear that they are parallels that even their designs beautifully contrast.

"Shadow's story began a lot like yours Sonic. But where you found family and friends, Shadow found only pain and loss"

This gives me hope that they will actually adapt Project Shadow in its truest form. Especially seeing the G.U.N agents point their guns at Shadow and Gerald Robotnik who appear to be grieving. While I don't expect them to show Maria's death, I hope they at least imply it. (I feel bad for the actress but a lot of fans will cheer for her character's death because it shows that the writers care about following the source material lol)

Okay so one thing that is different is that instead of Sonic being framed and hunted by the government, he is instead asked for assistance to track down Shadow. Makes sense for their universe given the first two movies. However, I do hope Team Heroes end up betraying the authorities and let Shadow escape.

ALSO KEANU REEVES SOUNDS GREAT AS SHADOW!!

AND THE TELEPORTATION? I LOVE IT! Looks like they won't portray it as "Chaos Control" but it's fine I guess!

THAT RUNNING ANIMATION ACTUALLY LOOKS MORE MENACING THAN THE GAMES WHAT THE HECK?! THAT'S SO WELL DONE!

THE FIGHTS DEFINITELY IMPROVED BASED ON THE FEW SCENES WE GOT!

Okay so this is giving me hope that they won't make Team Sonic work with the authorities. Looking at their faces, it gives me the impression that they took away their dad (possibly he is the one being framed?)

Well Jim Carrey did ask for the fat suit! Looks like he's going full Eggman now!

Bro they're doing this on purpose at this point. Man I love Agent Stone so much.

WAIT SO GERALD IS ALIVE IN THIS UNIVERSE...INTERESTING. I love how the actor matches Jim Carrey's Eggman!

OKAY SO FIRST OF ALL GUYS, GOD THIS TRAILER WAS LIKE 5% OF WHAT I SAW IN MY DREAMS SO IM HAPPY.

Jokes aside, perfect. I love this trailer so much and it was worth the hype. I'm so excited to watch this movie despite the few minor events that they changed in order to properly incorporate this story into the movie universe.

I doubt Amy or Rouge will appear but that's fine. Maybe for a post-credit scene I think.

Shadow is definitely the star of the show here. The detail on his quills, his voice, and his behaviour is all so good. I'm sure they'll give Shadow's character justice. I'm assuming Project Shadow will be the prologue in the movie before the title card drops but thats just me predicting stuff!

Bro if they have just a little milisecond gaze I’m gonna cry and trow up, Top loves he’s son like crazy I cant even imagine the pain of knowing what he has become or has done. And I don’t think ink would stand it neither, let’s remember that the only vial he has left it’s the blue one (sadnes if we consider the prism colection) so my buddy right here it’s avoiding feeling sad over he’s actions at all cost it seems. Maybe it’s actually posible they see eachother??? Since it seems in 0.7 part 2 that ink has some thing planned for the omega timeline and they are there, but who knows.

WAIT YOU'RE ACTUALLY RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING WHAT THE HELLLL LIKE imma assume those two are the canon ones in the omega timeline because there's no need (ig) to intervene with their true selves and stuff so WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT THEM REACTING TO INK IN UVS AND WHAT HE DID WOULD BE HEARTBREAKING ASF☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️😭 YET i'd be super hyped if it happens I REALLY HOPE SO🙏💔💔💔

and the vial thing, yeah.. i always keep this line of mye in mind about the vials not having certain meanings besides the red and yellow/orange ones (wrath/agressivity and euphoria respectively) and that it is more up to the community to think about them more to detail. i did believe in this more confidently when in the prism collection itself the green sticker of ink wasn't representing any gross situation (which are the meanings many people think of first when talking about green) while blue and pink respected more this attachment to the most common meanings, green seemed to symbolize the nature of craftsmanship and that's neat!! though, i didn't think of this collection when analyzing the blue vial left in uvs— AND IDK WHY BECAUSE IT MAKES TOTAL SENSE

i'm very excited to see what ink has planned ahahhqhwbeb🥹🥹🥹🥹🥲😭🥹🙏🙏 like i don't know if uvs ink does have parents in the first place?? IT WOULD BE VERY FUN TO PLAY WITH THAT AT SOME POINT, sounds delightful that your own son doesn't even know who or what you are..... (my inner xgaster begs)

Nina, in the seat between them, flicked her lighter and held it up. The rest of the bus was unoccupied aside from the driver, but as it rumbled over a pothole, a hot dry wind whistling through the open windows overhead, that driver glared toward them in the mirror. Returning the glare with a sharp look of her own, she nonetheless extinguished the flame. 

“Can you two please shut up?” She shoved it back into the pocket of her too-big leather jacket and reached for the string to call for a stop. As she stood, the driver did not seem particularly unhappy to see them go, eyes still narrowed. “I’m trying to get into some vague semblance of a party vibe, and you’re both ruining it. Just… chill.”

The doors of the bus slammed shut with what felt like more force than was necessary, and Tres rubbed his arm where it had nearly clipped him. “‘Chill.’ Rich, coming from you.”

Without so much as a smile, she pulled out her lighter once again and let the flame lick her tongue. Alex rolled her eyes.

“Your boy’s gonna be there, you know,” she said, nudging Tres with her elbow. It was enough to push him a few feet forward. 

“Even better reason for me not to be, really,” Tres muttered, but trodded forward on the sidewalk dutifully after his sisters.

This far into the woods, on the edge of town, there were only a few yellowed streetlights, casting the twilight Sierra forest in a sepia darkness. The flicker of the lighter, every time Nina flicked and then extinguished it, was the only color on the dry path that Alex cut into the forest as she stepped off the sidewalk.

“Shortcut,” she grinned, her face an eerie mask of shadow against the flame.

It was too hot for late June, the seedlings and sprouts of spring already dry underfoot, and Tres shivered as the flame flashed in and out. “Would you stop that?”

“It’s not gonna start anything.”

“You don’t know that.”

“Sure I do.” The flick and the hiss of the flame burned into his brain. “Have I ever burned anything down on accident?”

Even in his flannel, Tres shivered.
