✦ mARTch 2025 planning!

hey everyone! we're about halfway through february, so it's about time for me to start preparing my mARTch prompts for next month!!

a public announcement of the prompts should be up later in the week, but if you wanna help me out with some feedback while i set things up — head to either my discord server or to the free tier of my patreon to see the early stages!

mARTch day 2 - inspiration!

Beyond my sibling, who has always been a major inspiration for my art, a lot of my inspiration/drive to create art comes from robots! They're a general passion for me (and part of the reason I'm trying to get an engineering degree), and a lot of my favourite media is robot related.

Often when I'm in an art block, it's something to do with robots that manages to pull me right out of it again, so it felt right to give them this moment of appreciation.

mARTch Day 1: Self Portrait

Seeing as I had an unusual day of being up quite early followed by six hours of physical activity in the sun and wind today, this is a representation of me currently: sludgy, sunburnt, but honestly kinda chilling.

This is a kind of day I wouldn't have thought possible just a year ago. I wish I could go back in time and tell five years ago me that it's all gonna be worth it, that I can rebuild a relationship with my body, slowly, stumbling, but snowballing, and I'll get back some of the life that pain and illness stole from me. Every step to "climb back into my body" after a lifetime of learning to dissociate from any distress was worth it. Even the ones that h u r t. Every time I've advocated for myself of accommodated my needs. Every medication or strategy or coping skill I tried brought me closer to my goal. Even leaving therapy!

It's all led here. To a day I spent in the sunshine, using my body and my brain to help people, unabashedly accommodating my needs, without pain, without pushing my physical needs aside, to now when I lay ready to sleep, my muscles freshly stretched, my face glowing with the heat of the sun still, my eyes getting grainy with sleep. I know I'll be a little sore and stiff and slow tomorrow but I don't fear paying for todays bounty with several miserable bedridden days.

Who knows what the future holds, but at this moment, I'm grateful and happy.

Martch day 3: strengths and weaknesses. My favorite part of digital art (and in my opinion, some of the best parts of my art) is lining and inking. The part i like less and slack on is rendering for sure.
