Without clear goals, it’s difficult to know how to spend your time. Start by listing your goals.

Do you want to sell services or product? Do you want to increase traffic levels? Do you want to increase brand awareness? Knowing which SEO dial to twist depends very much on what goal you’re trying to achieve.

Once you have your list, create a set of KPIs. KPI stands for Key Performance Indicator. KPIs will give you a set of metrics to help you decide if you’re meeting, or missing, your goals.

Here are a few examples:

Rank top ten for keyword term x in Google

Increase traffic from search engines by *x* percent by *date*

Get 1,000 new sign ups from search visitors in March

Sell ten widgets per day to search visitors by next week

The most useful KPIs are specific.

You either hit the target or you miss.

Your strategy will be defined by your goals.

For example, if your goal is to sell ten widgets by next week using a new site, then your strategy might be to forget SEO for the meantime, and focus on PPC instead.

If your goal is to get 1000 new subscribers by the end of the year,

then you might spend a lot of time analyzing your demographic, determining where they hang out, and getting your name and content in front of them at every available opportunity.

If your goal is to get #1 for term X, then you’ll be focusing a lot on link building, using keyword term X in the link.

And so on. Your goals define your tactics.

Once you have a list of clear objectives, and a clear list of KPIs, the next step is to consider the age of your site.

2. What Type Of Site Do You Have?

New Site

One of the most important task for new sites is link building. The sites with the highest quality linkage tend to trump sites with lower quality linkage when it comes to rank.

Until you build links, then tweaking on-page aspects of SEO on a new site won’t make a lot of difference in terms of rank.

Get the basics right – keywords in the title tags, keyword focused content, strong internal linking, a shallow structure and good crawlability – but focus your efforts on attaining links.

If that means establishing a large body of quality content first, then so be it. Others may choose to buy their way up the chain, or aggressively pursue social media opportunities.

Established Site

The opposite is true for an established site. Whilst links are always important, an established site can leverage on-page factors to a greater degree.

Once your site has built up sufficient link authority, then you may only need add a new page of content, and link it internally, in order to rank well. People running established sites may wish to focus more on producing quality, focused content, and let the linking look after itself.

The Five Most Important Areas Of SEO On Which To Spend Your Time

These are highly debatable, but here’s my ranking:

1. Produce Remarkable, Attention Grabbing Content

Everything starts with remarkable content i.e. content worth remarking on and linking to.

Do you have unique, timely content?

Does you content solve a problem? Does you content provide a new insight?

Does you content spark controversy? Does you content start – or contribute to – a conversation?

2. Crawlability

If your content can’t be crawled, you won’t rank. Ensure your site is easily accessible to both humans and search engine spiders.

3. Build Links

Google’s algorithm is heavily weighted towards links. Beg, buy, or earn links, and rankings follow. Get your keywords into the link text. Building links also means building relationships with people. Spend a lot of time doing this, especially in the early stages.

4. Title Tag

It is debatable how much ranking value the title tag has, both it definitely has click-thru value. Your listing fights for attention with all the other links on page. What will make people click your link? Learn the lessons of Adwords. Match your title tag to the keyword query. Solve a users problem. Arouse curiosity.

5. On-Page Content

Forget endless on-page tweaking. Largely a waste of time. Instead, keep a few keyword phrases in mind when writing. Use semantic variations of your terms in order to help catch long tail terms. Link your page to related pages, using keyword terms in the link.

HOMESTUCK 2.

No estaba muerto, andaba de manifestaciones.

Ok, si, lo que está pasando en Chile es algo increible, un estadillo social. He estado 6 semanas manifestándome, y he dejado de lado Ace Awareness Week.

He estado años sin patear las teclas así, Y no quiero mirar atrás ahora mismo.

Sin Embargo, algo ha removido la conciencia de ayer de una manera que no puede ser ignorada, como un fuego que ardió magnificamente y que en sus últimos abriles nos entregó una flor, Homestuck ha renacido.

Y yo por supuesto voy a teorizar como un Loco esto. A Si que bienvenidos. Esto será una teorización/lectura conjunta. Y Se vienen spoilers.

Primero. Wow.

Dirk sigue haciendo de las suyas. Es el mismo del epílogo de Carne. ¿Que estara ocurriendo acá? ¿A Donde vá escapando del Canon?

Rose's voice echoes tinnily out of my newly alchemized, computer-integrated shades. The infidelity of the transmission is due to her voice being slightly too high-definition for the speakers to reproduce it faithfully. There's an audio format even better than analog, it turns out, and that's what replaced Rose's vocal chords when I scooped up her rapidly dissipating soul and installed it in a robot body. I have it on authority that decanting is sometimes necessary to ensure a wine is at its best. I like to think that the same was ultimately true of her.

DIRK: We're letting *Terezi* smash us into the planet we've been hunting for three years?

3 Años! Importante! Esto situa los eventos de los epílogos en 2016!..o nos sitúa a nosotres en 2021? No recuerdo realmente.

Entonces Terezi, Dirk, y Rosebot estuvieron en un barco navegando durante 3 años, en una parte entremedio del océano del Canon, más allá del Espacio Paradójico. ¿Yellow Yard?

All in all I think you'll find, as far as narrators go, I'm an excellent... hm. On second thought, maybe that's a bit of a problematic phrase. Yeah, yikes, that one's got a sordid history.

well i decided to post some pics from the game my sibling got me playing

its a browser game called sylestia. you breed and fight animals and stuff

anyway, for image description users: almost all species are zolnixi’s, which have fox shaped bodies and fluffy tails because they’re basically foxes. also since i am going to commentate on the physical appearance anyway, the image descriptions will be included in the commentary.

okay now moving on

the first thing i did after making a zolnixi is realizing i needed to make an army composed entirely of zolnixis, so here we go

this is my first pet, max. she’s a zolnixi with all black fur and advanced rainbow life runes (markings on her body that are gradiented rainbow like) and green and black feathered wings.

she’s my starter pet and i made her all black but with rainbow markings and wings because pretty. i think i had a marching band shirt like that actually :p

this is is my tamed pet, green. he has a green body with a blue underbelly and tail tip, and green and blue wings, and he’s wearing a green and blue bandana

i caught green (yes im great at naming things) during the tutorial where they give you a trap that can’t fail and make you catch a pet. he’s pretty and also importantly has wings

angel is white with a grey belly and blue ear tips and no wings. i bought her for like... 100 gold? 300 gold? not very expensive, because she didn’t have any traits

i mosty wanted to have an adult zolnixi to breed with green, so i could get a head start on creating my zolnixi army

this is captain marshmallow. she has three tails and moth wings, and a green and purple and blue striped body with moth antenna and flames on her tail and legs.

she has a ton of traits, but she was sale for really cheap. so i bought her to keep up my zolnixi army

she’s also captain marshmallow because lets be real, i dont think i’ll ever be able to top that name, even tho she doesn’t look like a marshmallow

this is spring cloud. she’s one of hte only zolnixi’s i didn’t name, so someone else came up with that name. you may be like “don’t sound so defensive, you named a green pet “green”“ but the difference is green is such a lazy name that it wraps around to being creative again

anyway, spring cloud has three tails again, some time of armor that looks pearl like and wraps around her chest and limbs, and butterfly wings. she’s predominantly blue with light purple spots.

i also bought her for cheap to keep breeding my zolnixi army

trinity is pinkish purple body, with dark purple legs, and white spots. he has leaf wings and a yellow underbelly, and the three tail mutation

i bought trinity to keep up my army. not sure what else to say here :p

warblade is another pet i just bought to start breeding my army. he has a white base body, red face and back stripes, blue patterns in shapes that leave the white underbelly carved out in circles, and dark blue runes, and is wearing a bandana

i named him warblade because i was out of idea for names and i remembered that thats someones superhero name :P my sibling thinks he’s ugly but i dont

lucy has three tails, blue legs, a pink back, and yellow, green, and blue spotty patterns. she also has a three tail mutation

this is lucy i also bought her to ..... keep up my zolnixi army

hera is green body and blue underbelly. she has no traits. i caught her in the wild. fortunately, she was pre levelled and therefore was already ready to fight in my zolnixi army

blue has a blue-ish purple-ish body and grey underbelly. she also has no mutations or traits because she was caught in the wild. she also also is pre levelled so a good soldier for the zolnixi army :p

and these last two guys

nat m3 (i did not name her :P) is tawny with back stripes and a light underbelly

and

stripes is tawny with stripes on his back and a white underbelly

are both bought for their chow tail mutation because i wanted to breed some zolnixi’s with chow tails, but they’re both infertile so i can’t. i may sell them back for the same price i bought them.

my non zolnixi pet is

dragon

dragon is a pet i made to play with the pet maker after my sibling gave me an essence. shes beautiful and looks like a dinosaur
